A Heart More Beautiful

A Heart More Beautiful

My friend, Sharon, was hurt by someone else’s harsh words. And the criticism didn’t make any sense! Hi, I’m Renee Swope for Proverbs 31 Ministries. Sharon didn’t understand what was happening, so she asked God to help her.

That afternoon while she was fixing snacks, Sharon’s daughter brought her a paper heart that had scissor cuts all through it.  And she wondered why her daughter had made it that way. Well, her little girl explained, “Mommy, I made this heart for you. I put cuts in it because I thought it would be more beautiful that way.”

Sharon felt God whisper, “I’m making your heart more beautiful through the cuts and wounds that I’ve allowed you to experience.  Be still, be quiet and trust me.”

Isn’t it amazing how a child’s perspective can reveal God’s love to a hurting mom? For more everyday life encouragement visit Proverbs31.org.

We love YOU Sharon Sloan, so very very much!

  3. Oh my goodness, Renee! This just happened to me this week. Words spoken by one that I loved and thought loves me (she does, though). But the initial pain caused me to “take it personally” and be cut to the heart hurt. I can’t control another’s tongue and I sometimes can’t control the way their tongues make me feel. But Father sweetly reminded me to walk in love because it covers a multitude of sin. Thanks for this “word” on having a beautiful, #confident heart. Aren’t you glad we are Daddy’s girls? I so am!!!

  4. Sheila Mangum says:

YES you are Daddy’s girl Marie! One very wise daddy’s girl! You are loved, Proverbs 31
