Hope for the Messed-Up Life

Hope for the Messed-Up Life

January 5, 2015

“Jesus said to her, ‘Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.’ The woman said to him, ‘Sir, give me this water, so that I will not be thirsty or have to come here to draw water.’” John 4:13-15 (ESV)

James Merritt

Have you ever messed up so badly that it left you believing God wants nothing to do with you? If your answer is “yes,” then you’re in good company, because we all have. We’ve all made poor choices and bad decisions. A bad decision can cost you your marriage, job, friendships and even your peace of mind.

But, if you’re willing to admit you’ve messed up, you’re a prime candidate for an encounter with Jesus. In fact, He specializes in ministering to messed-up people. One of the many things I love about Jesus is that He gravitates toward those who are typically ignored, ridiculed, hated and rejected.

One of the greatest examples of this is found in the book of John. In chapter 4, Jesus encounters a woman at a well. This nameless woman meets Jesus while she performs one of the most mundane tasks in her messed-up life — drawing water out of a well.

She quickly learned a lesson we all need to know as well — the mundane can become momentous when we let Jesus clean up our mess-ups and radically change our lives. Jesus wants to clean up our mess-ups so much that He will break down every possible barrier to do so.

For example, to meet the woman at the well …

Jesus overcame a cultural barrier. Jesus traveled through a region that His people — the Jews — would always avoid. Jesus saw culture, not as a barrier to compassion, but as a bridge to ministry.

Jesus overcame a moral barrier. This woman carried a terrible reputation. Her past put her in the category of a Hall-of-Fame sinner. She had been married five times and was now living with a man who wasn’t her husband. With this track record, everyone in her community knew her, and no man would dare to speak with her in public. No man, except Jesus! Jesus engaged with this woman, and we see her fess up to her mess-up.

We live in a culture that teaches us to hide our mess-ups and call them anything except the sins that they are. Jesus demonstrated through this woman that He will forgive us when we are willing to confess our sin to Him.

Jesus is not intimidated by our past. He sees beyond our failures and offers us a faithful future. You can’t do anything so bad that it will cause God to love you less.

If you’re reading this today and feel like Jesus wants nothing to do with you, I want you to know that He will break every possible barrier to reach you. Jesus is so serious about the task that He left heaven and came to earth to restore anyone who is willing to be cleansed. Today, you can meet with Jesus, bring Him your mess-ups, and allow Him to clean you up.

Heavenly Father, Thank You for loving me so much that You destroy every possible barrier that could keep me from You. Help me to quickly fess up to my mess-ups, so that I can receive the wonderful forgiveness that is only found in You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Lamentations 3:22-23, “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” (ESV)

Just like the woman at the well, if we took the time to really live with Jesus, we might be surprised by what we’d find. For hope and encouragement for your messed-up life, you’ll be encouraged by 52 Weeks With Jesus by James Merritt.

  1. Linda Hagen says:

I would love to receive a copy of the book. I am a teacher in a CA state prison and would donate it to our library. I have seen so many inmates’ lives changed by the grace of our Lord. The inmates are the poster children for people who have made terrible mistakes, but they are able to ask for and receive forgiveness just like all of us.

    • I have admitted that I’m just not the least bit perfect whatsoever. I know that this is one thing that is an on-going learning process; however, my childhoood was that of wanting to do everything I could to please everyone. Ultimately, I know now that I only need to do things that are pleasing to the Lrd.
“Jesus said to her, ‘Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.’ The woman said to him, ‘Sir, give me this water, so that I will not be thirsty or have to come here to draw water.’” John 4:13-15 (ESV
Amen! What a wonderful thing to always remember! As we begin a brand new year, we should always remember that God is the giver of eternal life. When we drink of His living water, we’re not going to thirst anymore. Ultimately, we need to feed our spiritual thirst, just like we need to feed our physical need for food and drink.
“YOU CAN’T DO everything so bad, IT WILL CAUSE GOD to love you less.”~Dr. James Merritt
Amen to that! Boy, is this ever powerful! As we go full swing into the first week of 2015, we need to remember that God isn’t going to love us any less if we can’t get to where we believe we’re supposed to be.
“Heavenly Father, Thank You for loving me so much that You destroy every possible barrier that could keep me from You. Help me to quickly fess up to my mess-ups, so that I can receive the wonderful forgiveness that is only found in You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”~James Merritt
Amen! What a wonderful prayer! No matter what we may not do right, we need to readily be willing to admit that we aren’t the least bit perfect. God doesn’t love us because we aren’t perfect; we’re loved because we’re willing to admit when we mess up.
Lamentations 3:22-23, “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” (ESV)
Wow! Boy is this ever true! God’s mercies are always brand new at the start of each brand new day. His love never quits, even when we may feel that we’re not worthy enough to have earned it.

      • Mary Johnson says:

  5. violet alvarenga says:

This was beyond encouraging! I’d like a copy of 52 weeks of Jesus because as of now I’ve never felt so scared and thinking that I won’t be able to have a good relationship with God because of my repeated sins. I just started a journey on Wed pursuing Christ and battling my habitual sin! So, this article was so so encouraging, to know that no matter how much I messed up, God loves me! And I want to fall in love with Him, so I’d like the book to help me on this journey that I’ve started. I know the bible is enough, but I am seeking so many resources to not fall again.

  6. I thought I could never be forgiven for my sins. I turned them all over to the Lord and confessed my sins. I havw been Saved and Baptized. I vowed for 2015 that I would become closer to God! That means learning everything I can feom the Bible and reading it every day. Thank you for the reassurance in this devotional.

  14. What a wonderful devotional and a beautiful way to start the year! 52 weeks with Jesus would be a wonderful book for my husband. I’d love to read it with him. My husband is a good man with a great heart, but struggles greatly with his past/present sins. He feels unworthy of God’s forgiveness. It’s heartbreaking to see him this way because he is the one who brought me to Christ and showed me my first love.

  15. Angel Mayfield says:

I am that woman at the well.
When finished reading it I will share it with whoever The Lord lays on my heart.

I try to maintain my faith and continue to pray on a daily basis, but my relationship with God has suffered. This devotion really spoke to me and I can absolutely relate to the woman at the well. I would be honored to receive a copy.

  18. Nancy Olsen says:

My husband is Christian but showing no desire to run to Jesus. He holds a past hurt that I do not think he took to Jesus. I think this book would help him. I don’t think he generally wants to ask for anything for himself in prayer. I desperately want him to know his Saviour. I had just finished talking to him about his messed up life and his lack of admission to inner spiritual hope through Christ and then I saw this Proverbs31 post and thought it is God’s will!

  27. please. I have a sordid past. am unruly mean disrespectful and un feminine due to abuse. everyone knows my mess and adulteries and abuses I wonder sometimes if its worth it to try to turn it around. #sofar

    • Oh Alli. Your worth is in the One who created you. He sent His Son to give his life so that you could know the Father and His forgiveness. The world may not forgive or forget, but the One who knit you together in your mother’s womb, the One who adores you, the One who calls to you will FORGIVE you. He wants all of you and is not unaware of our sins, but wants us to come as we are and allow Him to restore us. Sweet sister, keep seeking Him and the truth. Jeremiah 29:12-13 says, “You will call to Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” He is not hiding from you, sweet sister. He sees you. He loves you.

  28. I would like a copy of this if possible. I am divorce and living with a wonderful man. Terrified to remarry due to past marriage and what if this is not what God wants and terrified not to remarry because of the sin in that. I struggle with God’s acceptance of me where I am. I have my kids and his and I am concerned what this is doing to their image of a Godly woman and of God. Just looking for something to help get back that confidence that I used to have in my relationship with God before my life went completely haywire.

  29. God has been very patient with me as I’ve spent my career chasing professional accomplishments and awards in medicine and pharmaceutical industry. Not that being an excellent physician isn’t a good goal, but as I practiced it, desperate to be good enough, to fill a soul hole that was made for the Holy Spirit, it lead to frustration, burn out, a neglected family, Now, my Father has shown me my sin, forgiven me, and I pray will use me for for His glory.
Please give your book to the folks who have more people to reach with it and rest assured, I’ll order a copy.

    • Jordan Moore says:

I’ve been resisting the Holy Spirit, and I don’t feel guilty anymore. In fact, I can’t feel anything. Does that mean. Am I too far gone? I really want God back in my life.

  30. Michelle Underwood says:

I received a call the other day from someone in my church. She thinks her daughter has finally hit rock bottom and is ready to talk to someone about God and the things that have happened in her life. Because I have always been kind to her, she has requested that I talk to her. I feel very inadequate for this task. God has asked this of me for a reason. I have been praying for the right words and wisdom. This book sounds like a wonderful resourse! Pray for me!

  31. I AM THE WOMAN AT THE WELL!!! I have been married twice and am living with a man now for 15 years, much of that while still legally married!! I have a lifetime of mess-ups and will be turing 50 this year. I have been a child of God for many years now but have never fully surrendered myself and my life to The Lord. He has been working in my heart now for some time and I feel he wants to use my mess-ups for His Glory!! Please pray for me that I will finallly give in and have the courage to confess fully and allow Him to finish the work He started so many years ago… I have quite the story to tell but I need to let and let God!!!!!

  32. I’ve spent many years feeling defeated and believing the lies of the enemy that I had messed up too much for Jesus to want me. Many of my mistakes and bad decisions have cost me much but I am no longer living in defeat and am looking for additional resources to help me grow in my walk with the Lord.

  57. Thank you so much for your message. There are many men and women who feel like they are not worthy of love, much less the love of the Lord. Your ministry has helped me so much in my life and the lives of others that I meet.
We all seem to forget…..The love of our Heavenly Father is one thing we can always count on. When we feel we are alone in this world we need to turn to the Lord. We have many problems that seem too much for us to handle but no problem is too big when you have the Lord with you.

    • Hi Mary beth,

I never read the comments on here, but today I am. I noticed that you said you don’t know how to grow close to God…. I felt the same way a few years back, but today am growing closer and closer. I wanted to share with you how I started…. At first, I started reading daily devotionals and as I kept reading every single day, I noticed God filling me with a hunger for more. Also, it just so happened that whatever I was reading seemed to apply to whatever I was going through. Before I knew it, I was reading one book after another. I highly suggest any of Lysa Terkeurst’s books. They are so insightful, easy to read and incredibly life-changing!!

  63. Enid Walker says:

I just believe this is divine intervention to have seen this message.

  64. Jennifer Marshbank says:

Thank you for sharing this Devotion. Sometimes I try to be a perfectionist in all I do, even knowing that I am going to mess up sometimes. I love knowing that God does not love you any less when you mistakes. Je is there to guide you each step of the way as long as you let him in an trust him.

  65. Would love to have a copy of this book, the reason is simple, I need and want to be with Jesus!

  66. Jesus breaks down barriers for each of us every day giving us access to Him and access to share Him with others. If I won a copy of Dr Merritt’s book, “52 Weeks with Jesus”, I’d give it to my brother. He’s come to a serious crossroad in his life. One that only Jesus can help him to change his path and get his life back on track

  67. I would love this book, I have recently turned to God and feel I need more to help me through this time. My life is difficult and I often feel I am not doing anything right. I feel like I am messing up as a mom, wife, daughter and friend. I just can’t seem to do things right, the way I feel I should be able to! I south pray for The Lord to help me through this time and I feel drawn to this offer. Thank you for any consideration and may God Bless you and may you continue to pass your wisdom to others.

  68. Wow! Everyone has a story, and I love when we get to glorify God through our testimony. I desire to be closer to Jesus and becoming more like Him and am continuously looking for studies to help me do just that!

  69. I will give this book to my teenage daughter, so that she could read it as
a commentary to God’s word. She is worried about life and not always able to share her thoughts with me. She’s made a profession of faith/Salvation & has a hunger to know more.

  70. I love Jesus so much. It helps to know we can bring it all to Him. Lord, have mercy on me, the sinner. Amen

  71. I would love to win a copy of this book…not only to read myself, but to share with my daughter who is battling depression and much discontentment in her life right now. She needs Jesus back in her life ~ and needs to know that no matter how bad she’s messed up, He doesn’t love her any less.

  72. Rose Kline says:

I have a dear friend who is so broken and feels that she is not worthy or deserving of God’s love for her. She in in need of the daily reminders that God did not create a mistake when He created her. I love that Jesus loves my “mess ups”. I have made a few along the way. Even over the last few weeks. He teaches me that I can just come to him with those mess ups and he will show me what to do. Thank you for this devotion today. If I win the book I would share it with my son.
    Blessing to all today

  74. My ex-husband and I are trying to restore our relationship. It can only be done if we both have a closer walk with Christ.

  75. I would love to have a copy of this book. My fiancé and I have given our lives back to the Lord after several years of mess ups. The Lord has provided and pulled us through storms that only He can do. When we finally realized that it wasn’t us that got us where we are but the Lord himself, that’s when we gave our lives back to him. It’s been amazing since that day alone I can’t wait to see what God is going to do for us in the future.

  76. I would love to have a copy of this devotional. I am a Christian, but I struggle with depression and other issues, and I have let myself turn away from God and everyone else in my life that could possibly help me through. I have finally come to the point that I see that I can only make it through by walking daily with God and seeking Him constantly. I have been looking for a daily devotional that will help strengthen my walk with Christ

  79. I would like to claim the verse: in Lamentations: 3:22-23 I am constantly messing up. It is good His mercies are new every morning – because I surely use all that is available. My hope is to introduce others to Jesus or bring them closer to him. In the last year I have found there are more followers of Jesus then I thought. I am amazed and delighted. I am hoping your book would help me to inspire and introduce others to Jesus.

  82. Jesus has worked Miracles in my life and sometimes I have to pinch myself to make sure it is all real and in not just dreaming? So far in a year I’ve lost 8 stone in weight, ice regained my life that I thought I’d lost, I’ve found new love, again, I thought i’d lost her due to my previous ways, my work had improved, I’ve got out of a financial pit that I was in, I have a proper roof over my head, ive rebuilt bridges with family members that I’d blown to pieces over the years, I’m still unravelling parts of my life and it’s not going to happen overnight because it’s all been built up over 38yrs, but I’m getting there and all because in November 2013, I hit rock bottom and gave Jesus a chance to help me rebuild my life and I will forever be in His debt for what Ge has done for me and those people in my life that I so dearly love and cherish. Jesus has given me another shot at living the life I was meant to live and to be the person I was meant to be and it is a Miracle in motion. So why would I like a copy of this book, so that I can give this to someone I know would need it and would read it and would hopefully find it of use and hopefully make use of it to their fullest possibilities. Thank you for giving me the chance to share my story.

On the other hand, there is a woman at work who was one of my former students 20 years ago. She is getting herself back on her feet after many challenges. She has become active in her church and now works with students with disabilities. I would love for her to have this book for those times when she experiences moments of discouragement as we all do.

  86. Christinia says:

  91. Cindy Jewell says:

It is refreshing to be reminded on a daily basis who our Saviour came to earth to save …..you, me, and everyone who would just ask and look for Him. No one is by means perfect and we all need a Saviour, but I have to remind myself what I am here for , to share His love and grace and show His forgiveness to a world needing God. I’ve always believed in His forgiveness but struggled with understanding that it was meant for me too, and that my sins were not too big. It had separated me from God despite my yearning to not be separated, so I think this book, and the focus of its teaching of God’s Word, may be the tool that I need.

  132. Cynthia Bell says:

Today is day 1 for me. I have known and been told for years that I need a quiet time with the Lord every morning…but no one has ever taught me how to do so. I now have two teenage daughters, one who has already gone off to college, and I realized that I never modeled this behavior for them. Praise God, they have seemed out others (youth group leaders and friends parents) for their spiritual guidance but is know that should come from me. If I were to win this devotion I would use it to help lead my own daughters and give it to one of them. Together we could learn to rely fully on God, together.

As I read thru some of today’s comments, I have to say it was so wonderful to read that each person wants the same thing for this new year…. To fall in love with our Lord and Savior. He is awesome to continually forgive and forget and love us unconditionally. My heart aches to want nothing more than to please Him….daily…. and yet I fail him….daily. He wants nothing more than for us to lean on Him in our times of struggle…to wait on Him… He knows our hearts…I ask that you pray for me in this upcoming year as I will for you. Thank you for sharing not only the devotionals but your hearts as well. God Bless you!

Your message today was very helpful. It gave me peace. I also printed the proverbs message to put on my desk at work to remind me to be kind. If I am lucky and Jesus thinks I need the messages in your book, I will read the book everyday and I will get my mother to read everyday. Hopefully, she will get the message that Jesus loves her also. Please pray for my mother she is very depressed. She does not like to get out of the house and does not like anyone to come over. My mother lives with me and I try to help her and tell her to put it in God’s hands but it does not seem to help. Please pray for me so I do not go crazy. Thank you for this message today

  203. Jennifer W. says:

I would like to win this book for myself. I need the guidance of Jesus in my life.

  204. Thank you for today’s devotion. I would like to have this book as I move forward in my relationship with God. My goal this year is to make time to spend with Him instead of trying to fit Him in to my ever busy schedule.

  205. Beautiful devotional today and a great reminder of how much Jesus loves each of us. I would love a chance to win the devotional and I use it for myself as well as share it with my staff at the local pregnancy resource center. We start each day with worship, prayer, and a devotion and this would be a wonderful addition to our mornings. :0) Thank you for your diligence in your service.

  206. I went to amazon to look through this book and absolutely fell in love with the idea of it. I love Jesus. I want to read everything I can about him and this book looked like a beautiful insight into Him. I can’t wait to read it!

  207. Bonna Williamson says:

My son is dating a “woman at the well” young woman who feels like she won’t be able to right herself. It would be helpful to me to read your book in hopes that I might be Gods extended hand to her.

  208. Good Morin’,
I would love to give this book to my husband in hopes he would read it since it was written by a man. We have been married 17 years and he has battled with depression the whole time. Every time things would flare up i would think this can’t get any worse but it has. We are at an all time low of tying to find joy threw all this. I know god is working on me too threw all this.. Who ever gets the book i am sure will be blessed. Have an amazing day and thank you for being obedient to God’s calling to use your gift of writing.

  209. Thank you for this devotion. I’d love to win the book.

  210. My life is a mess. I admit I don’t feel worthy of God’s attention or love. I know in my mind I am worthy but I heart doesn’t feel it. I don’t know if your book would correct that or not but I am willing to try to get my life back on track. Thank you for reading this. Hugs and God bless

  211. Our monthly Word group is using this reading as our daily meditation. A copy of this book would certainly help with our understanding and with future passages.
Very inspiring and thought-provoking and hopeful.

  212. I would love a copy of this book. Today’s email really hit home with me. I struggle with depression and feelings of failure every day. I have two young boys and I see them starting to suffer with the same self confidence issues I have and I want to stop this cycle. I feel like my life is so messed up it cannot be restored to the point where I can fully serve Jesus again as I did before my years of bad decisions. I got married, then divorced. Met a guy and have had two children with him and we live together, but we’re not married. I don’t know if I want to get married again. I know I will not know the completeness of God’s blessings until I correct this situation by either marrying him or changing our living situation. I don’t know what to do, but I want the relationship with Jesus I had before I got my life so “messed up”. I’m middle aged and I feel like I’m wasting my life away. I’m always looking for any help I can find to regain what I have lost and be able to “fix” my life so I can be happy again.

  213. I would live to win this book. I have been wanting a study like this. I want to get to know Jesus better and to walk closer with Him.

  214. Jackita Stanley says:

My husband is the woman at the well. We have been separated 3 times in the last 5 years due to him running around with a woman much younger. He WAS a great man of God and fell from grace. I have contacted a lawyer to end the marriage, but I want him restored to him walk with the Lord. The Lord is dealing with him and he needs prayer. God has a great purpose for his life if only he would come home to his father in heaven. I need help praying for Mark. The enemy is stealing his soul.

  215. Anita Dudley says:

I simply would Love to live with Jesus! Having this book would provide me the opportunity to learn more about Christ so that i can share what I’ve learned with others! Thank You Jesus for your Favor!

  216. Reading all of these posts and requests for your book give me pause…and a sense of relief that I am not alone. God placed a wonderful, godly man into my life 24 years ago and I was blessed to marry him. He has a wonderful relationship with the Lord and I am working toward a more fulfilled one… I started Proverbs 31 devotions a couple of years ago and they truly touched me. Like the many who so desire your book, I need a copy and would love to win one.

  217. Amy Trombley says:

If I were to win a copy of the book, I would gift it to my husband in hopes he would use it as a tool for devotional time. This is a new year and he will be home from Africa in February, just in time for Valentines Day in which I am taking him to a marriage retreat to help strengthen our marriage in Christ. I pray he will commit to spending more one-on-one time with the Lord each morning before burning his calories. We are gifted 168 hours a week, God deserves at least seven of those in which he gave, wouldn’t you agree?

  218. I felt that way this week. Wondering why God has allowed me to be a trauma therapist when Im such a mess myself at times. I pray that you reach many with this truth.

  219. As a mother of two under 3, I’ve found it difficult to maintain the same closeness with Jesud that I used to feel because I have been unable to spend the same kind of time with Him. I have been looking and praying for some form of book devotional to freshen up my relationship with Him as I commit to a new routine this year that will hopefully allow me better regular intimacy with Him, now that I’m feeling more “in the groove” with my current phase of life.

  220. Beth Batte says:

I want to have a closer relationship with the Lord. I want to turn to him and trust he will hear my prayers and have peace knowing he knows all things and will answer in his time, I have not heard from my only son in a year and I desperately want our relationship to be healed and for him to know that he is loved.

    Thank you,

Your devotional was great food for thought….blessings!!!

  227. I would love to win a copy of 52 Weeks With Jesus! I can certainly relate to today’s devotion. Last year became so messed up and I felt as if I was drifting further away from God. This year I am determine to make things right with Him, and He has shown me all of the blessings of daily life…if I simply take the time to look. He is ALWAYS there for me, no matter what! I think this book would be a great add-in to my walk with the Lord!

  228. Brenda Jordan says:

I sometimes feel like a mess-up. And I wonder why God puts up with me. I Watch .dr. Merritt. I love his down to my level teaching. I teach a small Bible study group and this would be a help.

  229. Barbara Ann hofmann says:

I so look forward to knowing Jesus & His & my Father more.

  230. I would love to receive a copy of this book. My husband has been married twice before our marriage. Although we have been together over 5 years now he still beats himself up for his past mistakes and will at times assume I feel the same way about him his ex-wives felt. I assure him over and over again that is not the case that I see a completely different man. We now have a daughter who will be 1 next week. He is still struggling with his mistakes in parenting in the past and needs to learn to forgive himself since God has already forgiven him. I believe that is where he needs to start to become the man of God I know he wants to be.

  231. I would love to receive a copy of this book. The past couple of years have been full of my failures, regrets, and lots of changes. I know God can take everything I have gone through and currently going through to grow me and draw me closer to Him. 255. I would love a copy of the book to share with women I minister to in our local jail.

  256. I would love to receive this book. I am working to strengthen my daily walk with Christ and greatly enjoy the different perspectives presented in daily devotions. These devotions direct me toward Bible verses that I may not interpret in the same way the devotion does. This broadens my perspective and opens my mind to hear the words of Christ directly.

  257. I would love a copy of this book. I am growing in Christ everyday and this would be a wonderful devotional for me this year. Thank you

  258. I would love some hope and encouragement!

this book would be great for 2015 for myself and others I know who struggle like me
    Good word for today!!

  260. Our God heals hopelessness. This devotion made me think about the hopelessness of homelessness in the lives of some people I’ve met. The encounter the Samaritan woman had at the well with Jesus reminds us that we all matter to God, that He can forgive all of our sins, heal brokeness, & restore lives. What a beautiful story of hope to be able to share with hurting people.

  261. Priscilla says:

I’d give the book to a specific family member who has fallen very hard but that is trying to get back up. Today’s devotion had this person’s situation penned perfectly.

  262. I would love my daughter to read this book. Our church also needs a copy …even for some who cannot see past others’ pasts or even their present.

  263. I am working on giving my messes over to Jesus. This devotional really encouraged me this morning, and i would love to win the book and read more by James Merritt.

  264. Cathy Hicks says:

Oh, how I needed to read this today. Thank you for posting this.

  265. I would love to give a copy of this book to my son. He struggles with his beliefs because of his lifestyle and because he is a homosexual. Someone told him long ago that he would go to hell because of his sexual beliefs and I believe he still struggles with that every day even though I talk t ok him about the Lord and Jesus and pray for him. I want him to have hope and faith.

  266. Pam Rhodes says:

I would love a copy of the book for my use and my family. I have come back to God and need much encouragement so I can get on the right path. I hope my family will follow along with me.

  267. Darlene Donis says:

Reading this morning a man came to mind. During prayer time in church yesterday we had one of our members ask all of us to pray for a young man that just came back from Afghanistan. He was in the bad part of the war an had to kill men.he is having a hard time with it. Doesn’t think that God loves him any more because of all the murders. Wow he had to do what was his job. He needs our prayers an I thought this book could maybe give him some answers an help us to help him too.

  268. Ann damrow says:

I would love a copy of this book to start my year long journey of forgiveness and re-establishing my bond with God. I want to let go of the worry, fear and thirst in my life. Thank you for the opportunity!

  269. This book sounds great! I’d love to read it and then pass along to another mom in our mom Bible Study group.

  272. I believe the Lord led me to this article. I desperately need this book!

    Thank you!

  273. I’m in the process of learning to live and accept myself as I am, and not try to attain perfection, or be what I think everyone else thinks I should be. I have come to realize that I first need to know-deep in my soul- what Jesus thinks of me. Then stand and believe that.
My hearts desire is to know Jesus more, what a gift 52 Weeks With Jesus would be.

  274. Tricia Romo says:

I would love to add this devotional to my daily reading. I want to meditate on his word day and night!

  275. Great message/ devotional. With the title I thought it was more about messy life, stress, but still a good message. Would like a book. God bless

  277. Stephanie says:

I would love to give a copy of this book to my friend who has recently made a commitment to Christ, but has had a difficult life and struggles with self-doubt.

  278. Sooo needed to see these words today. I am definitely in the “sandwich generation” now caring for my own teens/tweens and aging parents and feel like I am doing a bad job all the way around. Thanks for the cncouraging words. Would love to receive the book.

  279. I would love a copy of your book so that I can learn to cast all my cares to God and start the new year fresh.

  280. I would love a copy of this book we all mess up and it is nice to read scripture that tells us that God still loves us anyway Thank you

  281. I would like to receive a copy. My faith in a lot of things have been rocking since I went through an extreme case of bullying and hardship at the workplace. I lost a lot of my self-esteem, faith in others and in God. I believed he hated me and I know that is wrong that it’s just what my bully wanted me to believe. “That everybody hates me.” I have social anxiety now. I am afraid to go anywhere alone because I worry that I will be bullied or that people hate me. (I am slowly coming out of that.) I want to get closer to God, but I am slow at it. I don’t have anyone to attend Church and well books have been my savor lately. “I read so that I fill the empty spaces in my heart.” So with reading I am inviting Him in my heart and maybe I’ll get that courage I need to go visit His house.

  282. I love to start each morning with God in his word. This book would have me covered for the year!

  283. kristal bushre says:

I would like to get my life back on track with god. I think this book would help me do this. I dont have any Christian friends so its very easy to get distracted. I just want to learn more about god and living right. Thank you for this opportunity. God bless you

  284. Ogre Momma says:

I’d love to get into that book myself and then share it with a few family members. I grew up not knowing God, many mistakes I made I confessed, and I know God forgives me but many times when I’m down I proceed to kick myself repeatedly for them. This is common in my family and I think we could all use a better understanding of God. A greater understanding leads to a better relationship and a better relationship builds greater trust. Something everyone, especially me needs to do more of, trust, whole heartedly in our savior!

  285. I don’t like to use the word desperate but I’m as close to that term as I ever have been. I am determined to have change this year. (Walking in/ with Christ) I am the only one who can induce change in my life. No one else can do it for me. I am in a lifeless marriage with a boy that can shave and not only am I suffering through this but my two very young children as well. I would love to have and read your book. This email.devotional really touched me I am eager to read more. Thank you.

  286. I’ve messed up! As I have walked with Jesus I have wandered down stray paths. Though I always found my way back I have felt shame for having wandered. I’m working through that shame and this sounds like the perfect book to help me on that path.

  287. Your simplicity really spoke to me this morning. I truly would love a copy of this devotional book.

  288. I would love to win a copy of your book for my teenage daughter!

  289. I’d love to win a copy of this book for a young women who recently got mixed up in some bad stuff. She’s in jail and things don’t look to good right now. I want her to know that Jesus is always there for her and that we can never mess up so much that he doesn’t love us anymore.

  290. I enjoy your daily devotionals and believe this 52 week devotional will help me in my daily struggles to stay rooted in His word.

  291. Michelle Gallice says:

Loss of a job and feel very distant from God…financially in ruin and scared for my marriage. I need 52 weeks to get back closs to God…

  292. Cindy english says:

I would be grateful for a copy of your book. Thank you.

  293. Claudine Brown says:

I would love to have a copy of your book. My whole life has been a mess, and I am still making a mess quite often. Since I have realized that after all these (75 years) that God can use those messes to help others that are struggling, I am meeting many more who need to know there is hope! Hope in Jesus Christ.
Thank you for this wonderful message today! God Bless.

  294. These are some great truths to remember. Thanks for sharing.

  295. I would like this book to help myself and others.

  296. Hayley See says:

I’m lost and live in guilt everyday. It tortures me so much that I really do not know how to forgive myself. I turn to Jesus and believe only God can save me. I know He is always there and listens to me. I pray that one day I’ll be able to hear from Him, enlightened me and guide me.

  297. Cindy Morris says:

As I read some of the deserving reasons why individuals would like a copy of your dynamic devotional, I’m struck by the underlying notion that they have better reasons than I. I would like a copy just because I want to be a better Christian in my senior years of life. I’m a recently retired school teacher of almost 39 yrs. It’s now time for me to study and ready myself for spending eternity with my Savior. Thank you!

  298. The irony of today’s Proverbs 31 devotion is that as I went to pay for my morning coffee my debit card was denied. Embarrassed and shocked I had no idea why my account would be insufficient. I quickly checked my online account and discovered that instead of paying my monthly insurance payment two days ago I had accidentally paid for the whole year, over $2,000! That certainly explained things. I quickly contacted my insurance company and bank to get everything straightened out. Unfortunately it could take several days for the money to be deposited back into my account. The next step was calling my husband to tell him of the big mistake that I had made ask for forgiveness. This of course is the hard part, admitting that I had not double checked my payment as I usually do because I was in a hurry and totally messed up. I am so thankful for a wonderful husband who is kind and compassionate and for a God who loves me unconditionally even when I mess up. A copy of the book would be great as I love devotionals and I would pass it on to my daughter for her and her husband to read. There is nothing better than starting the day with God’s Word which is full of hope and encouragement.

  299. Courtney Gillett says:

I would love a copy of this book for myself and then to pass on to a friend who would also love to read it. thank you for your devotional this morning!

  300. Elisabeth avillma says:

I would love to read this book with my 11 year daughter…and then pass it on to my six year old when she gets older.she. is in middle school whole different world to her with all the peer pressure…and she dealing with me and her father divorce and her been moved away from mommy…

  301. To have a clearer picture of God’s grace.

  302. My husband and I have both sinned in our marriage. He still at times beleives that he has done so many bad things that God won’t forgive him. This would be a great book for us to read at night together! I would love to help my husband know that God does forgive and he has a purpose for him and all the struggles we have been through.

  303. I loved todays devotion from Dr. Merritt. It really hit home with me. I really need 52 Weeks With Jesus…….and beyond. I have been out of fellowship for almost one year. I need to reconcile an issue at church which has been eating away at me. I have been ill for almost a year with chronic migraines, I had a stroke in my eye which left optic nerve damge plus blind spots. I have been praying for strength and healing, but I need an extra boost. I want to become close to Jesus like I once was, I want the peace that passes all understanding. In His Name.

  304. I would love to win a copy of this book. I have a very hard time forgiving myself, and I think this would be most beneficial in overcoming this feeling of inadequacy with which I often find my self struggling. Thank you for this devotional.

  305. I would like a copy for myself. I have made the spiritual resolution to spend more time with Jesus this year. I would also love to keep a prayer journal as well. I need to work on allowing God to center my life and always look to Him.

  306. I do struggle with forgiving myself and feeling ashamed when I have sinned. But I always make sure I stay in constant contact with God through prayer and meditation. I would like a copy of this to help to continue with buiding my relationship with Him.

  307. I would love to read this book and feel closer to Jesus this year than ever before. As a busy mom with 3 kids it’s often hard to feel really connected to Him the way I long to be.

  308. Alicia Hart says:

I would love to receive this book. I believe it could be a bridge to more intimacy with God.

  309. Just knowing that I can once again have 52 weeks with Jesus is encouraging enough for me.

  310. I would love a copy of this book. Last night a huge mess up happened between my best friend and her husband and my fiance and I. My fiance and I were playing a game and some of the cards I had played were postedon FB as a joke and none of thought about the replications of those cards and who would see them. What we were playing as an innocent card game hurt our friends beyond belief. We have apologized and asked for forgiveness, the posts were removed, and we have not stopped praying. It has been weighing on us so heavily and I am afraid for my friends husband and my fiance’s relationship as they are basically best friends. We are in need of prayers on both sides to overcome this and move forward with our friendship.

It was a huge reminder and lesson on how we have to guard our hearts and our minds and our bodies against the outside world, as something so simple as a card game has caused so much damage.

  311. Peggy Hall says:

    I would love a copy.

  312. I am looking for guidance to leave this horrible past behind me, and not constantly fear that I am not good enough for God to still care. I am so tired of saying I am sorry to him and fearing that he has heard enough. This book
    seems like an answered prayer.

  313. Oh, how I love Jesus, yet how I still allow my shortcomings to define me.

  314. I would love to win the book. I am struggling with this very thing. I have been sick a lot with multiple medical issues. I haven’t been to church in a long time because of it. I feel guilty, ashamed and that I am neglecting the Lord who has brought me from a bad place to a peaceful place. I owe Him so much and feel I have failed. I want to have that closeness back, that desire back.

  315. I would love a copy because 2014 really was a messed up year for me I found my boyfriend of 6 years cheating but that wasn’t it he lived a double life the whole time cause he was with us both the entire time he was with me needless to say we have kids together she didn’t give him kids but he’s chose to leave me and kids high and dry to be supposedly alone but he’s prob with her. I need daily encouragement and prayers to keep strong for the kids.

  316. Catherine says:

Would love a copy and would read it myself and then pass on to those I love so they too can feel Jesus’ love and compassion ❤️

  317. Pamela Turner says:

My library would so welcome this new book by Dr. Merritt. I will see that it is “checked out” by many!

  318. I believe this would be a good devotional for a teen I know, who is really struggling with this truth as a result of poor decisions he’s made

  319. Gayle Haywood says:

If I were to win a copy of this book, I would read it for myself and pass it on to my son as he needs to be reminded of how much Jesus really loves him. We have shared a very dysfunctional life in the past and I truly want to turn our lives around. My son knows Jesus and he believes, but he has forgotten how much Jesus really loves him.

    Thank you.

  320. Hello, the life of the woman at the well is very similar to my own. I have been married three times and divorced andfor many years felt like a failure and stupid for my life choices but when I met JESUS he wrapped his arms around me and told me everything is going to be alright and my mission and purpose in lifenow is to reach as many womenat the well and share JESUS with them so that through my testimony of Jesus transforming my life that will receive the blessing of a changed life through getting to know Jesus like I have. so you see this is not just for me but for all the lives of people that God will to touch my life, thank you for your great inspirational words for today.

  321. I would share this book with my husband. I am struggling with my faith, but I fear he has no faith…

  322. I would love to give this book to my daughter, who is 20. She is living a lifestyle that has caused her to fall away from the faith that she was raised in and she is making destructive decisions. She needs encouragement and hope again, hope that can only come from God. As her mother, I can only do so much without completely pushing her further away from her family and God. I trust that the Lord has great plans for her life and that He will provide the tools she needs to draw her back to Him!!

    Thank you!

  323. Kayla Pfeffer says:

I have well over 20 years of “mess-ups” that have made it hard for me to believe Jesus has not grown weary of me. I want and need a heart change about this. I miss the way it was with Jesus and me when I was a kid. I just trusted him. I believed he loved me. Through my own bad decisions and my sins I feel separated from Jesus at times and it worries me. I don’t want him to spit me out, or say to me He never knew me…that would crush me. It would be my end. I’ve committed some pretty bad sins, I repent but struggle to believe Jesus doesn’t just think “yeah, until next time”. Create in me a clean heart oh Lord.

  324. Min. Michael O. Stoutmire says:

I am an ordained minister who has unfortunately fallen off tracks. I know that God loves me but yet the majority of the time I feel that I am a let down or failure to Him, so why would He accept me back? A servant that He has chosen, one that He has given His special gifts but yet I was a let down. When I read today’s “Encouragement for Today”, I started to cry right away because I made a personal connection with the story. As I embark on my journey to reclaim Jesus as my personal Savior and yielding to His purpose and will for my life, I feel that this would be a useful educational tool. Then, I can better lead souls to God.

  325. I would love a copy for the whole family to read.

  326. In 2015 I have recommitted to spending more time in the presence of the Lord. I have made so many mistakes and have come to the point in my life that I know only JESUS will fulfill the void.

  327. I would love a copy of this book, i am a young woman who accepted christ, 4 yrs ago, my walk has not been perfect but i always press on through every trial and tribulation, i have lost about everything and God has restored it back, i just recently lost my job, but im believing God will restore that as well. As a mother of 4 teens, i have begun to teach my children to know of the Lord, this will greatly help us as a family. I was recently told my purpose is to help broken women, and i want to walk in that anointing, i feel everything i have been through has prepared me for such a purpose as this, 52 weeks will help rebuild my faith, keep me steadfast and strong and help me be able to carry the gospel to those women just like me.

  328. I’ve been struggling with personal sin for a few years now. I struggle to maintain Christian love for the world since my world has crumbled at my feet. I need the help that is found here and I would use the book to help me find a way into God’s word in order to pinpoint the way back to the path that the Lord would have me walk. A path that would give me Christ’s peace in a cold and senseless existence.

  329. Would love to share this with a friend who is struggling in her walk.

  330. I would love to read this book and share it. I’m always excited to read and connect with the brokenness that God uses in our lives to restore and reach other broken people.

  331. Debbie Herbst says:

I would give this to the husband of longterm friends. They have 4 children, with wide range of ages. Have strong Christian commitment and last summer, he became involved with another woman via electronic communication. He travels for work so wife was going to confront him at Christmas. We know that he had been deceived, like each one of us can. However, to face up to his actions, the impact on his wife, children, etc, will take great courage and miraculous intervention to repent and to be restored. thank you

  332. I would love a copy of this book to read and share with a young girl in my small group. She was raised in the church but has made a few life altering mistakes in the past couple years. She is really struggling to believe that God could still love her. I think this book is exactly what she needs. God bless you!

  333. I intended submitting my comments in hopes of receiving a free copy of your book, but after reading the already posted comments feel that I would be selfish in asking for a copy. I am a sinner just like all of us, but am brought to my knees in prayer for all of the individuals represented in these posts including myself. I began to notice the times associated with the posts and they mainly are in the late night and early morning hours. Unrest is what those times appear to represent. Our wonderful Lord doesn’t want any of us to live in this state.
This post opened my heart to the fact that I have sins that need to be confessed that I have been holding on to.
Our Lord knows everything before it ever happens, so why do I think that I can hide a sin from him–go figure–human nature. Thank you so much for this devotional and I look forward to purchasing a copy of your book.
Thank you, JESUS, for loving us unconditionally and not placing a limit on the times we can come to you for healing.

  334. Wow what a story to remember. Thank you. I needed this today.

  335. Susie Folkert says:

I would love a copy of the book. I have always thought I wasn’t good enough to be a part of Gods kingdom, to have a relationship with him. I started out in prostitution at the age of 9, drugs and alcohol quickly followed. I thought this was just the normal life to live. I got saved when I was 10 but I wasn’t able to live that life in my family dynamics. I got away for a time but drugs and alcohol were always a part of my life. Later, I got married and had a child. I decided I didn’t want the same life for my child and re dedicated my life. My life has been a battle of challenges but I have finally learned that I am good enough for God to love me and I am getting nearer to God while he gets nearer to me.

  336. I would like to have a copy of this book because I spent the last year really struggling with unbelief and trusting in Gods plan and provision. I want 2015 to be the year that I really let go and let God. I want to draw closer to him and overcome the unbelief and doubt I’ve struggled with.

  337. Thank you so much! Appropriate words today. I really needed to hear this. I mess up everyday and ask for forgiveness. I am so not perfect and need His help everyday! Blessings!

  338. Donna Andrews says:

We have an adult child that continuously struggles with her faith. She is so unhappy at times. She will use a good devotional when one is available.

  339. Jenny Elsasser says:

I would love a copy of this book for my husband and myself. We are new believers who are still working through understanding God’s grace and need
some assistance with looking forward with His forgiveness instead of backward with shame and regret.

  340. Loved this devotional. Thank you for the encouraging words and confirmation.

  341. I love your message. We’re all sinners….a sin is a sin. Some of us, just seem to need more help than others. Every year I start of hoping that this will be there year that I get my act together and sure enough January 1st, I’ve already messed up more than the whole previous year combined. My walk with God isn’t what it used to be and some times I feel like I’m not worthy. Well, you know none of us are worthy of God’s love but He gives it to us anyway. So I messed up January 1-4th, that doesn’t mean I can’t get my act together starting today! God is good. I’ve forgiven myself for my past. If God can do it, why can’t I?

  342. I would love a copy of this book!

  343. Kristi A. says:

I would love to go through this devotional together with my husband, to strengthen our walk with Jesus, then pass it to my sisters 🙂

  344. Kim Stokes says:

My husband is a pastor. Together we minister to a lot of messed up people. We were messed up most of our lives. We tell others about how Jesus rescued, redeemed & restored us and give them hope, encouragement & a hand to walk them through their journey of healing that can only come from Jesus Christ.

  345. Elizabeth says:

I would love a copy of this book. Currently, I am really struggling with my faith. I have so much sadness around me and even in me. I am trying to grasp everything I can in the small amount of time that I have to get my faith and heart back on the right track.

  346. Lacy Matthews says:

I’d give it to the runaway that ended up on my door step telling me God was done giving her chances. While I tried to share about God’s love for her no matter what, and how he came to earth to find and bring home the “lost sheep” your words are so much more eloquent and I believe would be the encouragement she needs to see over and over again.

  347. I have lived the life of this woman at the well and it took me being married 5 times and then after 7 years of no man I still was with another man twice but I knew right away I really messed up and it’s true Jesus uses our mess ups to help us get back on the right track with Him. I’m so grateful for this story I knew about the woman at the well but I didn’t realize till I read this that it was also me. Thank you so much for this story it really touched my heart in a way I can never repay you. I now know that Jesus has forgiven me and I want to live the rest of my life with Jesus and not any other man. I thought I had to be loved by a man in order to be loved but I don’t I only need Jesus. Thank you so much and I could really use this book for more encouragement in my life. I pray I can win this but if I don’t then maybe someone else needs it worse than me and I hope it brings a great joy to whom ever gets it. Thank you so much and God Bless you in your work for him.

  348. Kim Waguespack says:

Thank you for today’s devotion. This Scripture is one of my favorites. I love how Jesus shows the woman at the well that He knows who she is, what she has done, and He loves her anyway. Is there any greater way to love a person than to just accept them for who they are? That is who Jesus was and is. Spending time with Jesus brings me peace and contentment. I would love a copy of your book to help me to do just that. Blessings to you, and again, thank you for today’s devotion.

  349. I would love to share this book with a friend who is struggling in her marriage. I know this would be a great encouragement and comfort ! Thank you for considering me for this gift!

  350. Thanks for sharing such a good reminder

  351. I would like to spend more time with Jesus.

  352. I am a messed up life. Any help would be appreciated.

  353. I would love a copy of this book! I think it would be a great resource in strengthening my walk with the Lord.

  354. It would be a blessing to receive a copy of your book.

  355. I am that woman at the well. Thank god for jesus stopping by, and having a word with me today. I need your devotional.I vow to share it with others like me. So we can change and be made whole.

  356. MichelleElaine says:

I would love to win a copy. I have failed recently, big time. I want to spend more time with Jesus and would love help with that. Thanks for the chance to win.

  357. Brittant White says:

I would love a copy of this book because I am a living witness that God can turn our “mess” into our “message”!!!

  359. I would love to win for myself but feel my son needs it more right now in his life.

  360. I would love a copy of this book. I lead a young Mom’s Bible Study and this would be a great tool to use to encourage them.

  361. I read this devotional to my 13 year old son, who has recently been arrested for shoplifting for the first time and is punishing himself for making a mistake. Because it was written by a man, he was open to listen. His response was surprising. He actually responded positively to what he said. Thanks so much for this devotional. If the book is written anything like this devotional, I would love for him to have it, if it is in God’s plan.

  362. I would very much like a copy of this book. I am trying so desperately to get closer to God, and it seems with every attempt, I fail. I think this book would really help me.

  363. I’d love this book because I need & want a deeper relationship with Jesus. Thank you.

  364. Pastor Johnny says:

Thanks for your insight! I would love to receive the encouragement from recieving a copy of your book.., I’m looking for a book such as this to help guide me through my New Years resolution of reading more Godly books in 2015… Whether I get a copy or not God Bless & keep up the great work for Gods Kingdom!

  365. I am the Fellowship of Christian Athletes leader in our high school and I would like to have the book on hand to share when I see a student needing it.

  366. I have been married 4 times. My current husband is a blessing to me as he has accepted me for things I have yet to accept about myself. We have been together for four plus years (married 1). I am still struggling with my purpose at age 43. I am suffering so much loss & heartache: lost my job due to sabotage from other jealous women lead by my husband’s ex-wife, constant bullying from my husband’s ex-wife and public humiliation, the loss of my previous marriage due to my own infidelity and his suicide attempts, rejection from my current husband and prior husband as neither of them would allow me to become a mother and having suffered two miscarriages (both pregnancies were unwanted by either of my husbands – is this God’s will?), the abandonment of my own mother over the past two years and multiple times during my life. I live each day to “get thru it”. I feel like I’ve been in survival mode for the past 5 years and yet at the very same time I feel so blessed. I want to be Happy! I am tired of the heart ache and pain. What is my purpose if I am not to be a mother & home maker? I am lost! How can I deserve the same blessings as someone who has not sinned as I have? How does someone who has sinned against me deserve more blessings than I have received (as it would appear)? I am ready to be healed. I want to move on from this mess and live a happier life in Christ with my husband. Would love a copy of the book. 2015 is the year I heal and learn how to be happy with the help of the Lord.

    • I just want to encourage you to not look around and interpret what you see with your human eyes:
“How can I deserve the same blessings as someone who has not sinned as I have? How does someone who has sinned against me deserve more blessings than I have received (as it would appear)” The truth is, none of us deserve the blessings we have, nor earn them nor disqualify ourselves from receiving them because of sin. Yes there are consequences for our sin, but with God, anything can be redeemed for good. Please remind yourself of that fact. Rom 8:28
We all get in trouble when we compare ourselves with others, looking horizontally instead of vertically.
Our economy and timing isn’t the same as God’s, who is always just and loving, despite how we feel or how things look. Your story is still being played out, as is everyone else’s. We don’t know what the future brings. We live in faith, depending on God and trusting His goodwill towards us. Keep your eyes and attention on Jesus, Jer. 29:11 Prov 3:5,6
Have you looked at Beth Moore’s Breaking Free study? She teaches holding God’s truth up to demolish Satan’s lies.
I pray 2015 will be a year of healing and spiritual growth for you, and that not only temporal happiness will fill your heart, but true, lasting JOY, even in the midst of difficulty. It is possible with Jesus. Surround yourself with a community of non judgmental believers. Grace to you, dear one. I will hold you in prayer.

  367. I’d like a copy to share with my 14 year old son. Teenage years can be rough and I’d like to set aside time with him to share our faith.

  368. I would love to win a copy of this book! this year I am committed to furthering my relationship with God and this will definitely help!

  369. What timing. I just spoke with a friend about how God is always ready to forgive when we mess up. I’d give the book to her. She’s isn’t a believer yet.

  370. Jennifer Stanley says:

My focus for 2015 is growing closer with Jesus and focusing my life on what is truly important in life, I would a copy of this book to help aid me in my journey of serving and worshipping my savior as I grow closer to Him

  371. Niki Blake says:

Would love to gift this book to my hubby for his birthday this month. Love that our paster preached on this EXACT verse this Sunday….isn’t our God so good like that???

    Thanks for the opportunity!!

  372. I don’t deserve this book more than anyone else, but I’d love to win it! I need a new devotional to start my year off. I need to not let my thirst go stale!

  373. Kelly Brandt says:

Thank you for the opportunity to win this new book by James Merritt. I love his teaching style and am eager to deepen my relationship with God this year. I think this book would be a great tool to keep me focused on what is truly important.

  374. t. singleton says:

What a wonderful devotional. I love to win a copy of this book to add to my library.

  375. I would love to win a copy of this book for my youngest sister. She was diagnosed with cancer two years ago. The Drs have given her weeks to live. That was on September 28th. I know the encouragement she would receive from this book will be a great comfort to her. She did not live a Christian Life before her diagnosis. She has since allowed me and our other three sisters to pray for her and witness to her. She is now trying to understand and accept that Jesus loves her and forgives her. Thank you for your consideration. God Bless!!!!

  376. Louise, please check out http://www.newlife.com and the workshop on Healing is a Choice. Lots of healing going on. There is a talk show . I know you would love it, too.

  377. This will be my first time to have a “word” for the year. The word that keeps coming to my mind and heart is “intentional”. We are intentional about many things in our lives. But mine haven’t been so much focused on God, more focused on me – marriage, weight loss, finances, homeschooling efforts, the list is endless. All of which I have multiple goals and expectations. I was led to seriously evaluate the true reasons, intentions, for my desires and expectations. My prayer is that my desires and intentions for 2015 will be as a direct result of me intentionally seeking God for His will and purposes for every aspect of my life. I’ve always questioned the saying “If God led you to it, He’ll see you through it”. In my opinion, we get into situations mostly on our own. Most of the time it’s probably because we’ve not be thoroughly seeking God’s insight for the steps we decide to take. I pray that this book will help in my efforts to be more intentional with the directions and purposes God lays before me this year. If I win, I will gladly donate the book to a friend because I think it is definitely something worth sharing.

  378. My husband and I would like a copy to learn more of Jesus together in 2015.. We openly communicated 2 days ago about his second affair. God gave me courage, and I spoke to him in Christian love about my concern for his spiritual well-being. He was angry at first, but as he thought about it, he began to soften and see that I was truly concerned. I did not realize he felt so unworthy of God’s forgiveness since he sinned again in the same sin. He actually thought he messed up so badly that God could not continue to love him. We have a long road of healing and growing ahead, but with Father leading, and transforming us, our marriage and relationship will be restored. He promised! Praise God, His Mercies, for all of us, are new every morning!

  379. I love the name Changing Lives. Even tho I know Jesus, I need to embrace the truth of His changing my life at a deeper level. Would love a copy of this book.

  380. Just when I think I have got the anger defence conuered it comes back. I am an adult and am reduced back to that abued child by something someone says. I serve God and am trying to do my best. I think the book would be good for me and a friend who has the same background of messups as I.

  381. Mitzi Purvis says:

What a wonderful book to utilize in the never ending pursuit of growing closer to the Lord!!

  382. Hi, my name is Sandra and I am from Mexico, I would love to receive a copy of 52 weeks with Jesus to share with my family and friends.God bless. Thank you.

  383. Would like to have this book to share with my sister.

  384. i would love to grow deeper in Gods word daily understanding and learning his word give me hope daily!

  385. My older brother has just started going to church. I love watching him grow and blossom in his journey to Christ! We bought him a bible for Christmas, his first grown up version. I would love to give him this devotional to give him Hope.. He has has had many mess-ups in his life, some he feels are unforgivable. I can’t wait to see his happy glow when he realizes just how much God loves him and FORGIVES all his sins!!
Thank you for all that you are doing to spread God’s LOVE!! ❤️

  386. Rebecca Edwards says:

    love this

  387. I’d like this book for me. After the death of my husband I have lived in a vacuum for 9 years. It is time for me to stop feeling angry and bitter and start living again.

  388. Lori Partin says:

I would love a copy of this book to share with my daughter, a 35-year-old drug addict with two children, age 17 and 14. She has been to prison twice because of being arrested with others involved in drug abuse. Both of her prison times have included boot camps for drug addiction. She is out of prison now, but still feels unworthy to be friends with any people other than former druggies, prison inmates, etc. It has clearly seperated her from family and childhood and church friends.

  389. I would love a copy of this book! Thank you for the inspiring words!

  390. Margaret Kelley says:

This devotion was what I needed today. Just last night, my husband and I were discussing what we need to do to draw closer to God this year. Please pray for us as we seek to be obedient to His Word. Your book could be part of our journey. Thank you for sharing what God has placed in your heart; God bless you in 2015.

  391. Terri Solliday says:

Mess up is my middle name

  392. What I have read about this devotional book speaks to me about being challenged in my walk with the Lord. I particularly liked this comment: “Shatters myths, shakes assumptions, and is littered with surprising insights you’ve probably never considered”
    –Tullian Tchividjian,
pastor of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church and author of One Way Love
I am praying that in 2015 I will have that kind of journey with God.
Thank you for your generous opportunity to receive one of these books free. God bless.

  393. I would love a copy of your book to give to my sister who feels alone and needs to know just how much Jesus loves her no matter what! We are never alone… thank you for your devotion today! Blessings from Minnesota!

  394. I would love to have this book. It sounds like a great book to help me draw closer to Jesus which is the greatest desire of my heart for myself & my family.

  395. Hi. I am a burned-out missionary back “home” in the States and really disappointed with church and mean “Christians” and the selfishness and manipulation and slander and egos that ministry people have, trying to push people into their own agenda instead of bringing them to Jesus. And now, here, too much culture shock and materialism and everything is rush-rush-rush. I probably do not deserve this book, because the other comments look so desperate and I should be able to buck up and grin. But all I know is if I do not have a fresh encounter with Jesus—not because religious people say so, or because I have to prepare a lesson for others, or because I must conjure up positive Christianity to meet people’s expectations—then I do not know where I will go or what I will do. Jesus was all the world to me, but his people sure know how to shun and be legalistic and downright cruel. I need him.

  396. We’re all messed up in one way or another! I’d love to use this book as a resource for my entire family. What a blessed reminder today for us! Every moment is an opportunity to open the door to Jesus, so he can walk beside us:)

  397. Thank you for such a great devotion! I would love to a copy of 52 Weeks with Jesus. I’m involved in ministry and would love to share this with anyone God impresses on me to do so.

  398. Tiffany R says:

I would love a copy. Spending 52 weeks with Jesus sounds like a heaven on Earth. You are right, we have all messed up. It is so comforting to know that Jesus is still there through the mess. Thanks!

  399. Tendai Sithole says:

First all amazing devotional… always good and uplifting to know that God loves us regardless and that he qualifies the called and call qualified. Well i would also love to receive a copy of 52 weeks with Jesus because i believe that it would help me on my walk with Christ and help towards building my faith.

  400. I would love to have a copy of your book to read especially at the dawn of the new year. I feel lost, helpless, hopeless, abandoned. rejected, hated, and persecuted.

  401. Last night, before turning in, I cried my heart out to God for this very reason; I don’t feel worthy of His presence. I was saved when I was a little girl, but changed my lifestyle 14 years ago. God has never ceased blessing me, but my mental and emotional self are constantly at war with my physical and spiritual self. Sometimes I feel I can’t take it anymore. I feel extremely lonely and disconnected. I’ve made some huge mistakes and very poor choices that destroyed my relationships. My marriage ended 10 years ago, although I’ve only been divorced 5 years. The divorce shattered my relationship with my children and many of my friends. I’ve been held up by the greatest of long-time, devoted friends, but they are becoming exhausted of my constant battle. The relationship with my children has begun to heal, thank the Lord. I would like to heal on the inside because the outside seems fine. I’m tired of being lonely and single, but I think I messed up too much for there to be anything else. I want to be restored. I am desperate to be whole. When I read this devotion this morning and it matched my prayer from last night, I was encouraged. Encouraged is a feeling I would like to continue to have so that I can be a blessing to others just as I have been blessed. Should I be given a copy of this book, I will read it, mark it, use it. I need its message.

  402. I would love to receive a copy of the book! I have fessed up my mess up and just like the woman in the well Jesus has cleaned it up and redeemed me.I enjoy my devotion time and 52 weeks with Jesus would be ideal.

  403. I would love a devotion book. I’ve had a few bad choices in my life the one I struggle the most is I signed the wrong piece of paper during my divorce my dad was terminally I’ll with cancer and it made me not to have my twins as often as they get with there Dad. He’s a very mean person towards me I pray for him daily. But it’s hard for me to understand why? I would love to be able to read the book. Thank you

  404. because

  405. Thank God for loving and forgiving us no matter what we have done. Some days, I should say every day Satan tries to tell us we are not worthy, so we struggle. The word of God tells us otherwise, so we need to keep in The Word daily. Thank you for your devotions. Jeanette

  406. I would like a copy of this book so it can be sent to my brother who is in prison. I believe this would be an inspiring book for him and possibly help led him to know our Lord, Jesus Christ.

  407. Jan Quinn says:

I feel like a hot mess…I’ve made some major messes in my life so far. But I do have hope in Jesus! Anything to lead me to Him in 2015 is a step in the right direction and I think your book is exactly that. I would love a copy of it.

  408. Krystin Goenner says:

Hello. Among all other books and devotions that I had come across through the years, this particular title, 52 Weeks with Jesus, is eye-catching as well as a spiritual attraction. I was thoroughly blessed by today’s devotion: looking under the looking glass in the life of a nameless woman who has a radical encounter with the Son of God, Jesus. This world is not easy, but we do know if we keep our eyes on Him and breathe in tune with His Wonderful Holy Spirit, there is nothing too small or big for our God. I believe this devotion will allow me to sink in a little deeper, hold on a little tighter, trust in Him a little longer and farther, because there is nowhere else I can turn. Whoever the selected ten individuals may be, they will receive such an inheritance of a blessing to sit on the lap of Jesus and truly hear the heartbeat of the Father, thus allowing to be more fined tuned and in line with the Spirit. I believe this devotion will be life changing…so much so that after reading it, they, too, may bless another ten in their circle so that we all may know how to be a more devoted Proverbs 31 woman by living out loud, 52 Weeks with Jesus!!

  409. I would like to receive a copy of this book, because honestly I feel like this message today was written with me in mind, as an opportunity for Christ to show me he still loves me. Lately it has been more than a struggle, just to get out of bed in the morning, let alone the daunting challenges and people that currently are contributing to my lack of confidence, not only in Christ, but in this world. There are days when I’m surrounded on all sides and can’t see the way out, or the light at the end. I feel like David, with all of these giants hurling insults and stones at me, and I’ve reached the point where I feel as if I’m too far gone to love. This book would maybe help me understand God’s love for me and purpose for my life. Because lately, the purpose seems to be missing, and I feel like I’m alone.

  410. I would love the book and to share it with who needs. I know Jesus loves me but I’m growing in this knowledge as it moves from my head to my heart, a slow process.

  411. I would love a copy of this book for my husband and I to share. We need a good devotional that we can work through together and in turn that brings us closer to Christ.

  412. I would love a copy of the book and would read it and pass it on to be a blessing to someone else.

  413. I would love to receive this devotion book. I have been looking for a new devotion series to help me overcome many of the struggles inmy life.

  414. I would love to win a copy of this book. My goal is to spend more time with the Lord this year, so I’ve been looking for a new book to read. This comes at a perfect time. I really connected with today’s devotional, and would love to read the rest of the book.

  415. Samantha Compton says:

You’re either going towards the Lord or away from Him and I would like to continue in my journey and grow in my faith and move towards Him. I think this book would help me grow in my relationship with the Lord.

  416. Tara Stallings says:

thank you for this reminder. On days when it feels like I’m messing it all up, this is one of those things I need to see

  417. This devotion really spoke to my heart because I went through a season where I was a “Hall-of-Fame sinner.” I’m so grateful for the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ, and I love to tell others that He can set them free! I would love to have this book to read and encourage others that I disciple.

  418. Cathlina Roberts says:

I really would love to read this book. I always feel like I’m doing things to bring me closer to God but then I feel like I have to start over repeatedly. I know I don’t need to start over, but I just feel like I have to do it right from the get go.
I can use all the help I can get to make sure my walk is right.

  419. I can not say that I had a bad “reputation” spoken by others, but I was so insecure in myself I felt like I did. Yes like others I have sin in my life..daily. In the past 2 or 3 years I have learned that I stuffed my own personal mess ups, mistakes, guilty feelings..aka sin. It may not have been what others considered major sin, but sin is sin. I felt terrible about myself even though I was a Christian. Then when I was brought to my knees because all I had known and loved was now messed up I realized I had to pour out my sins to God, leaven them at his feet, and believe I was free from it. I did and I have. Now I am in the stage of letting go of deciding my future and what I need to do next. I have to learn God’s purpose for me and I am struggling to just “be still and wait.” I would love to read how to understand my purpose and move forward to share that Glory with others.

  420. I would love to win a copy of this book because I have a lot to overcome this year. See this past year I have struggled with depression and weight gain, feeling like I am not good enough and like I have no one and even though I know that I do because Jesus is always there it is a hard feeling to overcome. I am a single mom of two beautiful children and I wake up every morning and put a smile on my face but I still feel that my mood affects them just as much as it does me no matter how hard I try to hide it. I also feel like I lost touch with God so this year I have vowed to become stronger as Person not only physically but mentally and spiritually as well and I feel that 52 weeks with Jesus would do exactly that.

  421. My desire for the new year is to be changed by the work of the Holy Spirit in my life. “52 weeks with Jesus” what a thought! No one can spend time with Jesus and not be changed!! This is what I desire. To deepen my relationship with Him!

  422. I would love a copy of your book. The last couple of years have been filled with trials that have led me and my family on a path to developing a stronger, deeper relationship with Jesus. I’m sure your book would encourage me, my husband and our kids along the way.

  423. Melissa Sugg says:

I really messed up in 2014. I am leaning on the Lord and praying for a transformed new life in 2015. I would love this book of encouragement. Also I will be glad to pass it on when I am done reading it.

  424. Cathy Beane says:

Always a comfort to be reminded that Jesus loves me no matter what.

  425. I would love a copy of this book! I will read it, and share it in my women’s group.

  426. Barbara D. says:

I would love a copy of this book. One of my goals this year is to find a gentle and athentic way to study and hopefully rediscover the faith I once had for so many years. Family tragedy and unfortunate experiences with organized religion have made mountains in my path I can’t seem to get around. I am trying to open myself back up… to reconnect and rediscover who God is and who He is to me.

  427. Michelle R.H. says:

One thing for sure I know is that I need Jesus. If this book can help me be closer to him, I’d love a copy.

  428. Shaquanna says:

I have been having a hard time mentally these past couple of weeks and this devotional today just spoke about how I have been feeling. It seems like no matter how hard I try to walk in the forgiveness that has been given me, the more I start to have moments of Jesus not wanting me.

Thank you for this much needed encouragement today.

  429. Dorothy Hughes says:

I’d love to be able to share this book (and this message) with my son who is battling alcohol and drug addictions. He told me he feels ashamed to associate with some members of the family who look down on him. I’ve been telling him for years and will continue to tell him that God has a wonderful plan for his life and will never give up on him. Thank you!

  430. Morathi Ramokgopa says:

I would love to get a copy of this book because it is all about my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and how I can grow in my relationship with Him irrespective of the season I’m in.I am hoping to share this book with my bible study group. Whether I get the copy or not, I still pray for God’s name to be lifted higher and glorified.

    God bless you all.

  431. This devotion is so timely! I spent the day yesterday in tears – realizing I had made some poor choices and wondering how to correct them. I still don’t know how to, but reading this gave me hope. I can confess my mistakes to God and let Him work it out for me.

  432. Oops, forgot to say that I would love a copy of this book!

  433. Feeling unlovable. Can’t shake the past.

  434. Why would I like a copy? I could write a book with my answer but I guess, simply put, I am lost! I’ve never felt so lost in my life and now my marriage and my kids are being affected by it. I have lost 3 of the most important people in my life…my mom, my dad and my sister (who was pregnant with my nephew at the time and he didn’t make it either). I used to have an extremely close relationship with God but have drifted so far lately. I’m angry, I’m depressed, I’m bitter and resentful and I take these things out on my husband and continue down this dark road of sin. Just when I barely start to see light again, I run and hide….in my sinful ways. It’s easier to do that than to face and deal with the losses in my life. I don’t want to be that person. I want to be a good role model for my daughter…for my boys too but especially my daughter. I’m the one who signed up to receive these emails, but have refused to open them. My thoughts lately are why would God even want someone like me? Thankfully I have a very supportive husband who text me the link and asked me to please read this one….so I did and now I’m here, typing this begging for help. Like I said, I could write a book about everything I’ve been through and things I’ve done in order to not deal with anything, but more importantly, I’m for once asking for help and I believe this book would help. I’m shocked I’m even responding. Thank you for reading this and to anyone else reading it…prayers are always appreciated! Thank you!

  435. This devotional touched my heart. I am a widow and struggle with knowing Jesus as my companion now. I miss a relationship with a man. I need to grow in knowing Jesus more and being complete in Him so either if it is His will to bring another man in my life I can love him with the Love of Jesus and not carnally and if God’s will is not for me to have another mate to be content in being single.

  436. kallie bourgeois says:

why do I need this ? I want more Jesus in my life. He is my Lord and Savior. I would love a copy.

  437. I would love to have this book as I am finally coming to the realization that I have not been staying close to the Lord like I need to. Fear is something that I tend to allow to seep in and start chipping at my faith and relationship with God. I am making changes in my life to make time for quiet times with Him, more time in prayer and reading, and this book seems like something that could help me in this journey.

  438. I would love to have a copy of this devotional/book. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior a number of years ago, but have struggled the past few years with doubting and questioning God’s existence. I want to remove all of these doubts and get back to the relationship I once had with Him. This would be such a helpful tool to help guide me in this process. Thank you.

  439. Elizabeth says:

Thank you for the opportunity to receive a copy of this book.

  440. alli hughart says:

i often feel this way. even as a minister’s wife, i feel i mess up too much sometimes to be near to God with full assurance of His love for me!

  441. Margaret St John says:

Our granddaughter and her live-in partner started their drug habit when they were sixteen. They are now thirty-one years of age and are addicted to cocaine and opiates. The first child was removed from their home and full custody for a period of five years was awarded to the child’s grandmother (our daughter) and her husband. While the court was in session regarding the custody of their child it was learned that our granddaughter was pregnant. The baby was born and placed in a foster home until such time as they took the action necessary to overcome their habit. However, they did nothing to change their lifestyle. Their second child was only one year old when it was revealed that the mother was pregnant again. This baby is still in the home of her parents, however, Social Services is monitoring their use of drugs by means of regular hair strand drug tests. If they fail to comply with any of the court’s directives both these two children will be placed up for adoption.

My husband and I are strong in our faith. Our daughter is strong in her faith. We believe that love conquers all and that Christ can and will change even the worst sinner. I would love to introduce our granddaughter to the life-changing love of Jesus. But I know my words would fall on deaf ears.

I believe that if our granddaughter read your book “52 weeks with Jesus” that it would be an open door to restoration of a family. It is our desire that both our granddaughter and her live-in partner will abandon their drug addiction, serve God and receive the gift of their children into their home permanently. If you choose to send your book to us I will offer it as a special gift to my granddaughter while praying for God’s love to reach out to this family.

  442. I would love to win this devotional. I am dealing with chronic health issues, and my husband has completely abandoned his faith. I feel like there is no hope of our lives getting back on track!

  443. Jodie McGuire says:

I would really love to win a copy of this devotional, I am in the middle of trying to decide whether to file for divorce and it’s actually brought me closer to God. I.can use all the help ican get with my walk

  444. Brenda Libby says:

If I won I would give the book to an elderly lady I help. She has been ministered to by Jehovah Witnesses in the past. She is worried about her salvation because she is unable to attend church.

  445. Lana Archer says:

This devotion gave such peace to my heart…thank you…I would love to win a copy of this devotion book as I believe it will be a blessing to all who read it…..I hope I am blessed to win…but if I don’t it will be a book I can possibly save and get later……God bless u for writing the book and posting today…

  446. Would like to win a copy for myself to read, and then give to my daughter who has messed up and is trying to find her way back.

  447. What a wonderful devotion for today. we have all made mistakes, myself included. I would love a copy of this book for my son who is in jail – we all need to know Gods forgiving love.

  448. I believe God has been speaking to me, my day is just ending and right from the beginning of the day, the message has been mercy.
God bless and enrich ur live as you continue to bless me and countless women around the world.

  449. Pam Crosby says:

Powerful message my heart longed to hear. Thank you! I would love a copy of the book for myself, and then I would pass it on to my son as well as pass the message on to deaf teens God has placed in my life.

  450. I would keep the book for myself – I need help with my devotion life. Thanks.

  451. I lost the love of my life, my husband of 48 years after his 20 year battle with Parkinson’s. I want to begin an even longer love affair with Jesus. Your book sounds like a perfect matchmaker.

  452. I would love a copy as I have started the Year with a commitment to getting to Know God more! Then I would love to pass it on to others who desire the same!

  453. I would love a copy of this. I struggle mightily with feeling condemnation for the mistakes of my past. It seems this book might be just the daily encouragement I need to grasp that God really does love me enough to forgive me even when I can’t manage to forgive myself!

  454. Patty Licata says:

I would like a copy of this book so that I can spend the next 52 weeks growing closer to God, and learning more about His wonderful mercies. I feel I need to be washed clean each and every day, and I think this book will help me see just how loved we really are in Christ.

  455. I would be grateful to be blessed with a copy of the book. I have struggled lately to feel close to Jesus in the wake of some bad decisions. This book wold help lift me up so I can become the woman and mother God wants me to be.

  456. I would love to win a copy of this book! This devotion was a blessing to me this morning 🙂

  457. Good Morning: I would like a copy of this book because I have really messed up my life. I can relate to this story in the Bible about the lady at the well. See, I am 49 years old and have been married/divorced 4 times, married to my 5th husband, who is an alcoholic. In between my broken marriages, I became pregnant at the age of 27 and the father did not want anything to do with me or “it” (the baby). I decided to have my little girl, who is now 20. It was and is truly a blessing that I received from God. I could go on and on with the struggles I have faced in my life: alcohol addiction, striving to please everyone, trying to find someone who “truly” loves me, etc. I have finally found my true love in life…Jesus Christ. However, I still struggle with my past and there is days that are really hard and I can’t forgive myself. I have people in my life who enjoy reminding me of my past when they want to attack me. I believe I can relate to this book and it could really help me.

  458. I would love a copy of the book. I have a court date for divorce at the end of the month, and this is not at all what I want or how I ever could have guessed my marriage would turn out. My life seems very messed up, and while I know the Lord is with me and His hand is in this, I’m having a hard time nonetheless. 52 Weeks with the Lord is exactly what I need to start this scary year out.

  459. I have to remind myself daily that God knows me the good the bad and the ugly. People will forever judge us and it’s actually thru our weaknesses that he can use us to further his kingdom. I struggle daily and I would treasure a book like 52 weeks with Jesus. Pick me choose me!!

  460. I would love a copy of this book to help me grow closer to Jesus as I feel like I’ve been growing distant from Him. Thank you.

  461. I am starting my walk with Jesus and would love this book to learn more.

  462. I would be honored to receive a copy of this book because I have lost hope in my life and the fact that God loves me. I used to have this theory that if you had “problems” in your life, you were in line for a miracle. Then I realized I was fooling myself. Need all the help I can get. Most kindly.

  463. Pick me!!

  465. Shonta Keys says:

I would love a copy of this devotional because I’ve felt just the descriptions of people in the word for today lost and disconnected from CHRIS T and felt like he should’ve just given up on me. I still feel this way a lite but day by day it’s getting easier because I’m leaning back on him and I realized it was actually me that turned away from GOD. I thought as if I had done so much damage that he couldn’t and wouldn’t come to my rescue or hear my prayers if they were done out loud or in silence. Yesterday morning while attending Sunday School I had a complete breakdown while attempting to pray but GOD assured me he was right there, he heard me, and loved beyond my mess so I was able to carry on and finish but I think if I hv backup reminding and showing me he’s there 52 weeks every year it’d help.

  466. TAMEIKO HODNETT says:

I would love a copy of this devotional book for my husband who is a minister. I think ministers need encouragement as well as all of us. He would enjoy this book and I would too.

Thanks for entering us in the drawing.

  467. I’d like this book please. The devotion you shared was special, and I’d like to read more.

  468. I have been struggling with parts of my faith, the part that feeds me, my church. A friend invited me to his church and I was revived and renewed and fired up! The lesson and message was on Romans 12:1-4, Romans 12:2 is part of my email signature line, my ebible verse of the day that day was Romans 12:2. My life has been so messy and for so long I wondered how God could love ME? I’ve heard the story of the woman who goes to the well many times, but this morning as I read this, I HEARD it. I felt it. I recently shared part of my testimony with a friend and one thing I said was that no matter how bad things got for me, where I traveled in my life journey, God was ALWAYS there, He never left my side. I always felt His presence. He has never forsaken me. He never ceases to amaze me. ME!! A sinner…a true heathen…He loves ME! Whether or not I win this book I just wanted to share this with you. To thank you. I needed THIS devotion today. I NEED these devotions every day. If I did win I would share the book with my newest friend MaryAnn.
So thank you a million times over!!!
You and all of Proverbs 31 are true blessings!!

  469. When I saw the title of this devotion about thirst, it captured my attention. I spent the week between Christmas and New Year at the hospital caring for my younger 46 year old sister. She has a great sense of humor and also has “dry mouth” constantly due to her bone marrow transplant and prior chemotherapy, so I thought she might have a laugh at the literal “thirst” part of the message in addition to the need for the spiritual thirst part of the message. She was admitted to the hospital due to her heart failure caused by the chemotherapy and was very, very sick. Thanks to so many prayers, and an amazing 87 year old Christian hospital roommate, she stabilized and was discharged yesterday, but is still quite sick, with a tough road ahead. I commented here, which I rarely ever do, to try and win the drawing to give the book to my beautiful sister so she might find some encouragement in 2015.

  470. All I can say is God was truly speaking to me through this article. We all have our new years resolutions and mine has been to just draw closer to God this year and have him lead me in what he feels I should work on in 2015. Every time I have tried to lead myself or do a new year’s resolution I feel like I have somewhat wound up in the same place as the year before. There are definitely some areas I need to work on in my life of depression and raising my daughters (with my incredible and understanding husband of 21 yrs marriage and 31 years together), that makes me want it to be a Godly thing this year more than ever !!! Thank you for your article and maybe I can find your book in our local library 🙂

  471. This book may help me with my relationship with Jesus. All my life I have wanted a close and joyous relationship with Him. At 61, I’m sad that it hasn’t happened, so I’m not doing something right. I know what I’ve read, heard, and seen, and I want to experience all of Him myself.

  472. We all need encouragement sometimes, and to be guided to think about Biblical truths. I’d love to have this new devotional for 2015.

  473. Cheryl Beck says:

I would like a copy. I accepted Jesup as my personal savior again. The bringing Jesus, and my faith broke my marriage apart. I decided to take my husband back. The mental torture was awful. I fell so rock bottom. I had an ongoing affair with someone else. I justified it because my ex husband was on his 4th affair. Well eventually the marriage crumbled and guilt set in and I vowed things that I did not keep. I kept 2 boyfriends because I was lost…I settled with one. I live in guilt of what I done and how I yet again live in sin. I do not know what to do. I have no excuse for my actions…I feel guilty everyday so much so I have panic and anxiety attacks. Intrusive awful images flash through my head. Everyday I think why did this happen…God does not love me no more I screwed up that bad and now my mind has thought wrong. Jesus keeps showing me that he still loves me..but the cloud of guilt lingers on hoping to make things right and forget what popped in my head. If I am not picked for a book…can everyone pray for me that the thoughts never ever return and I have the path to make my relationship right or the strength and the means to leave and take care of my son’s alone. As I have fallen so many times..I just want to be right again

  474. I would love to be the one picked to receive your free book “52 Weeks with Jesus”…may God bless you ministry.

    thanks, dale

  475. I would like a copy of this book because I need it to remind me of where I’ve been and how far the Lord has brought me. It has taken time for me to accept the grand love that the Lord has for me, a sinner saved by grace. I would also share with other ladies in my church as a discussion starter for our women’s meetings.

  476. I’m beginning to understand more and more how meeting with Jesus in the middle of a mundane task can turn into a ‘momentous’ event.

  477. I truly need a copy of this book. I am on my fourth marriage. I left and divorced the man (father of my only child), whom I loved dearly. It is one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. Being a person with bipolar disorder, I have acted out promiscuously as well as getting myself into major credit card debt. I have sporadically gone to church over the past year due to a problem I had with the pastor. There are many other things I have done for which I am ashamed. However, through it all I love the Lord and believe that He loves me. Also, I am a woman with many illnesses (like the one who touched the hem of Jesus’ garment). Please send me this book. I need to know I am forgiven and correct the shame in my life. I am all too willing but need guidance. Thank you for considering me for the wonderful gift of this book.

  478. Kathleen Sherman says:

I’d welcome the book with an open heart! Even a bad day with Jesus is a good day! I enjoyed this devotion. The most common mistake for mankind is to hide our failures & shrink away from God. But thankfully Jesus came to save us! I love Him so. God bless.

  479. Good afternoon,
I would love a copy of this book to give to my son, who is struggling accepting Jesus as God. Thank you.

  480. My life is not what I thought it was supposed to turn out like. I, like the Woman at the Well, have been divorced twice, approaching my 3rd, and I am at a total loss. I have God in my heart and life, and I share Him with my children, but it seems I can’t make a marriage work. I have been told that everything that has happened is my fault, and my self-worth/ self-esteem is at an all time low. I pray continuously and try to give it to God every day, because I know that I shouldn’t worry because I only have today but it’s hard. I want to be more involved with Bible teachings and readings and I am subscribed to the proverbs 31 ministries – encouragement for today, Girlfriends in God and the marriage one. God is great, as He has been with me since I was a child and He will continue to be with me until the end. I don’t want to feel ashamed or hide, and I want to know that I am not a bad person and completely forgiven for not making the right choices in men. Thank you for the encouragement every day and God Bless each and every one.

  481. I was at the deep pit of depression in a hospital bed almost exactly 6 years ago after a serious suicide attempt that nearly took my life. Thanks to God’s grace I’m still alive today to type this. I’m finding myself at that point again. The only difference is I know Christ now and I found myself at this web page. I would love to have this book!

  482. I am comforted that Jesus is drawn to the ignored and ridiculed. Though I often feel lonely, I know he is close and cares for me. I would like a copy of this book to explore this relationship in more depth through this year.

  483. Lori Conley says:

I would love to share this book with my God-child Christopher.
He needs to know that Christ loves him despite all of his bad choices.

  484. What a wonderful and fresh way to look at the mistakes we make in our lives. Generally we are prone to deny and cover up our mess-ups. But you are challenging us to “fess up to our mess-ups”. That’s the only way we can turn our negatives into positives and our hurts into healing. I would LOVE to read more in detail about this from the book you are offering. Thank you for the opportunity!!

  485. Karen Kilgore says:

I really need this book. I’m going through some tough things right now and really need to deepen my relationship with God. I have some hard decisions to make and really need to hear from God to do His will. I enjoy this daily devotional as well! Thanks!

  486. Danae Chavez says:

When someone does not love you like you love him, that’s when you need to let go of that person.

Just after Christmas it happened to me, I confess that the person I got in the place of God, my ex-boyfriend, is the person to whom I gave all of my heart, and now to rebuild it and put it in God’s hands, is somewhat complicated.

I understand that this book “52 Weeks with Jesus” is not going to transform my life More than the Bilbe or the Word of God. But I’m sure I can ask for help and get a tool that could help me to let go week after week, encouraging me to restore my heart, having time with God and form a habit. Leaving my heart to rest on my creator’s hands.

That is why I want a copy of this book and I hope I could get one. Thank you very much.

    • Danae,

I have been in your shoes so I can honestly tell you that I know exactly how you feel. I let someone be the center of my life and when he left, I was devastated. But the past three years have shown me so much of who God is. I have grown so much in who God wants me to be rather than who the world wants me to be. I’ve got direction in my life, a future built on God’s promises, not on man’s dreams. I will pray for you Danae, as you use this heartbreak to grow closer to the God Who can heal you. It’s an amazing feeling when you let Jesus into your life and tenderly and slowly transform you. It will be hard, I’m not going to sugarcoat it. BUT.

“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. All who rae against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish. Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all. For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, ‘Do not fear; I will help you.'” ~Isaiah 41:10-13

I am living proof of the miraculous healing hand of God. With everything in my past, He could have thrown in the towel many times and given up, telling me that I could never change. But He didn’t. Each time I turned away from Him, He always whispered His invite to come back. All those years I’ve scorned Him, He still loved me. From the beginning of time, He KNEW I would rebel, yet He left His heavenly throne, and came to Earth to save me from my sins, to make a way that I could go straight to the Father. That is a love that no man can give me. That is the love, like you, I am pursuing this year. I will be praying for you this year, that you may let go and let God.

  487. I would like to have this book to reenforce the promises that I have in Christ Jesus.

  488. Christina Gering says:

I know more than 50 people have commented, but liked how you pointed out how it does appear and display Jesus seeking us out (messed up people). Which we all are; born sinners.
This semester at Campbell Univ. I’m taking a Christianity course and would also enjoy your year devotional guide. I enjoyed reading your inspirational post today!

  489. I would love to receive this book, I believe it can help me during my devotional time. I am so glad I am growing in The Lord!

  490. Would love to read

  491. Thank you for the reminder that Jesus meets us right where we are, everyday, every moment. I don’t know where I would be without Him!

  492. I would like this book for myself so that I can learn how to fess up my mess ups. I need to continue to remind myself to always turn to Jesus not just some of the time. I think this book would be really good for me. Then when I finish I can pas on to someone else who needs the same help.

  493. I just recently shared deep dark secret to a trusted sister in Christ. It was put on my heart to “press on to the goal” so that is my aim. I don’t need extra baggage that my Savior never intended for me to carry but I would love the encouragement and guidance from “52 weeks with Jesus”. Thank you for this opportunity. God Bless!

  494. It is JESUS’ DESIRE FOR me, AND in me to grow ever closer with HIM this New Year.

I want this to enable my Vivin&I to walk hand in hand WITH JESUS Together.
We want SO MUCH MORE OF JESUS in every aspect of our lives.

Thank you for this Beautiful Devotional!

    With Prayers, Rebecca&Vivin.

  495. Dona Haggerty says:

I would love to read the book for encouragement for myself, then hand the book down to our 21 year old son. I think that he believes he has messed up so much that God could never love him.

  496. I would love this book as I am one who knows about messing up. I love the Lord and as a Christian I know that He loves me and forgave me for all my sins. I have felt down lately as I shared something that I did before I was a Christian with some of the women at my church and while they seemed accepting I have found them treating me different. I thought it was just me but several have said comments in a round about way and one even made a comment that I was not as faithful as some. This has just made me look more at my past and question how a loving God can forgive me but others can’t. I am new in Christ and I feel that my mistake was part of His plan for me. I think this book will help me keep my inside at peace and let go again of my mess.

  497. Thank you for sharing this timely Word! I have been hearing “Seek Me first” for quite a while now. I have looked for a Bible Study or daily devotional that would point me into a deeper relationship with Jesus! When I read about your give away, my heart urged me to respond. Usually I do not. As I approach my next birthday (Jan 12th) I want to be walking with my Savior every step. Happy New Year!

  498. I would like to send a copy to my daughter. I have been praying and encouraging her to attend church and to strengthen her relationship with the Lord. My prays have yet to be answered, bt I know the Holy Spirit is working to return her to the fold. She tells me going to church makes her sad. But, she hasn’t told me why. Perhaps your book will be the next step towards her spiritual journey towards Jesus.

  499. teresa sarnowski says:

In this season of renewal and resolutions, I am making efforts to right my wrongs and find my way back to the feet of Jesus. I let laziness and idolatry get in my way of Lord. This book sounds like the perfect tool to assist me in my endeavor.

  500. Carol Hicks says:

I would like to receive a copy of the book in order to send it to my brother who seems to be having a hard time finding his way back to a close intimate relationship with the Lord and I think this book would be a blessing to him and his wife.

  501. After posting a request for your book I took some time to read the other posts from believers who are asking for the book. Brothers & Sisters in Christ know that my heart aches for each of you. My pray today is for each of you to draw closer to the Mighty Comforter and fine peace thru Him. I pray for a miracle that each of you could receive a copy of the book to help you on your spiritual journey. Amen

  502. Tracy Lyerly says:

I am the leader of our ladies group at church. I would love to have a copy of the book at use as a weekly devotion. We meet as a group of godly women to discuss problems that we may be dealing with and to study God’s Word so this book would be a great addition to our studies.

  503. I would be very excited and grateful to have a copy of this book. It would be a great source to use to draw closer to God on a daily basis.

  504. What a wonderful way to spend 52 weeks! I would love to use this book with my prayer time & family time this year! Happy New Year!

  505. This book sounds like it is exactly what I’m looking for. Although a “seasoned Christian” of about 25 years, there are times when I look in the mirror and think exactly what Dr. Merritt said today – how could God want anything to do with me? I am hard on myself, because oftentimes, I feel that if I KNOW better, the standard should be set pretty high. Usually, to perfection. Then I have to remember that I won’t be perfect til HE comes back. I’d love a copy of this and then I will pass it on to another that needs it…………..

  506. It’s hard to wrap our minds around the fact that we can NEVER un-do God’s love for us! Thankfully, it’s TRUE! Thank you for the reminder as we start this new year. If I were to win one of the books I would read it, and try to pass the knowledge and hope onto my family! Thank you!!

  507. Seeing other people come to God after a long battle of adversity is one of the most promising and fulfilling events to be involved in. I have been dating my boyfriend for nearly 4 years and stood by him when his family was falling apart and his father was deployed to Afghanistan. Continually marked by feelings of failure and due to the lack of support, the past few years have been challenging for him and lead him to fall further from Christ. He was ashamed of his mistakes and wrinkled by hardships. He has finally chosen to come back to God – and realized he has been there this whole time even during his most imperfect situations. It has been so special to gradually watch him grow closer to God again. His heart has been miraculously mended, relationships have flourished, and he has more confidence and love than ever. I can’t wait to see the man God will transform him into as him and I continue to grow together.
If I won a free book, I would give it to him and we would read it together. We love getting into God’s word, and spending time with Him is the most valuable way we can reach fulfillment in our lives in ALL areas . Nothing goes untouched by God. I feel so blessed he has continually be reaching for my boyfriend and I love the open heart for the Lord he has grown to have.

  508. Thank you for reminding me that there’s nothing I can do that will make God love me less. I would like to spend 52 weeks with Him.

  509. I would love a copy of this book for myself. I started 2015 in a situation that I’m not proud of and knowing I must end the situation and seek forgiveness. This book reminds that Jesus still loves me and is waiting with open arms all I need to do is confess my sins and believe.

  510. shermel parham says:

It’s funny how God talks to you; when you need him the most. I been battling a lot of demons from my past and feeling less of a person, because of regrets of how I have handled situations in my life. Reading about the lady at the well, really opened my eyes to realize that no matter what GOD still loves me!! Thank you for this wonderful passage, for once I really feel like I still have a chance to get it right and GOD still loves me how I’m still trying to spiritual grow into the woman I pray God wants me to be.

  511. I would love to receive a copy of your book. I know Jesus forgives us when we ask but sometimes I doubt that and go back to the sin he has already forgave me for. I know that is Satan leaning me toward that thought. I know once Jesus forgives it is forgotten and there is no use bringing it back up to him again but I find myself doing this a lot. Please pray for my husband and I. We are going through some financial stuff and I know God will see us through like he always does but my prayer is to be patient with my husband because he’s not on board with the budget thing and I am the saver, he’s the spender. I pray for God to heal his heart!! Thanks for letting me post and thanks for the opportunity for a chance of this book.

  512. Clarification: I didn’t mean I go BACK and do the sin again but I keep asking forgiveness for the same sin I have already committed. Sorry about that!!

  513. I would love a copy of this book. I am a middle school teacher and have very few coworkers who are Christian. I would like to pass around and share this book as an encouragement for my peers!!

  514. I would love a copy of this book. I come from a long line or women at the well. My family grew up serving the world as their God, now just trying to stay on track and believe in the word is hard, fighting all the demons of past. I think this would be a great study for myself, sisters and mom to break the chains that bind.
Thank you for writing this book and may it be a blessing to ALL that read it. Even if I don’t win a copy, may it bless those who do win it.

  515. I’d love a copy of this book for so many reason!! Although I feel it would do me a world of good, I feel it could be awesome for my children to read as well. I want them to always remember they too will mess up as they go through life but even in the darkest of times when we feel God isn’t listening, He truly is and know matter how big the mess up, He still loves us and forgives us.

  516. Kimberley says:

This artical encouraged me a lot today, as I had messed up. This artical was perfect timing for me in need, and I’m now really happy to continue walking with Jesus again, drinking from his living water iv no need to become thirsty or dry for I know he’s cleaning up my mess and crossing those barriers to reach me. I’d love a copy of your book because this helped me so so much thank you! Thank you for being Christ like ad reaching me in words so I can hear his voice again. In his time and his word his will will always be done, bless you, thank you

  517. I would love to win a copy of this. I’m starting off this year reading the bible in chronological order. Winning this could only make my year better! Plus, I always share the books I read with others.

  518. I would like a book to give to my friend who always calls me stressed out and anxious that she isn’t doing things right. Of course, this isn’t true, but this book may help her start to feel that way less.

  519. I would send this book to a family member who is in prison and who is learning to deal with the ramifications of his sin.

  520. I used to love love love reading. It was such a hobby in school. The last few years, despite everything in me, I’ve found it so hard to pick up a book and finish it. But, this year that’s going to change… I’m hoping to keep up with the SheReadsTruth Bible In A Year plan, and I love reading your encouraging emails daily!… I would love to win this book so that I could definitely finish two books this year – this devotion and the Bible!
But if not, it’s enough to have you lovely ladies here at P31 encouraging me in my faith daily. Thank you for all you guys do.
    SJ x

  521. Mike Weaver says:

We Men mess up a lot also. Could use any help I could get. I believe this devotional would put me in the right direction.

  522. Margaret Mwale Liswaniso says:

I would love to receive this book and give it to my step son as a gift. He is an amazing person but I think he struggles to fess up to God. He has also done several things that have left out hearts and I think the realization of this makes him feel unworthy of God’s forgiveness. We love him and have not stop to do so and our prayer is that someday he will realize that all we do or say is for his own good, for the parent he will become someday and what his children to listen to him when he tells them something. God bless you.

  523. I’ve always identified with the Woman at the Well. Having had three abortions and given up another child for adoption, as a teenager, married and divorced three times, as an adult, I was in my 40’s before God convinced me that no earthly man is even capable of loving me the way He loves me. I accepted Jesus as my Savior at age 11 but turned my back on Him so many times, in so many ways. I question my salvation. How can He continue to love me?

  524. Lee Ann Tarducci says:

I would like to win this book so that I can give it to my friend, Alice, who has a prison Ministry at the women’s prisons in Columbia, SC. She is an absolutely fantastic woman who visits the prisons every other week and has been responsible for leading innumerable women to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and helping them to see that no matter what path in life they have taken, God still loves them and will be accepting of them. I’m always looking for good resources for Alice and this book looks perfect. I’m also going to be purchasing a copy for myself to share with others.

  525. I was saved thirteen years ago, thru tears and pain I accepted the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit into my life. I remember feeling a great burden lifted. Anger and pain from my young life burned in me, and a very loving Woman and her Husband saved my Husband and myself. I feel like I am letting My Lord down as feeling of pain and burning in my Soul have returned, I can’t seem to forgive others that have wronged me, no matter my Prayers, I count my Blessings daily and ask the Lord to not let go of me, but the tears come. Even now as I write this the tears are here. I just ask if I can’t forgive ,Please just let me forget! I have written things down and burned them to try to get them out of me, I am a sinner because I can not forgive! Lord I ask you to forgive me even tho I can not forgive. in Jesus name AMEN Thank you for Proverbs e-mail they Help alot.

  526. Grace Crapitto says:

  528. Heather A says:

I would love a copy of this book. I have not read from this author yet and the synopsis sounds amazing. I am thirsty to learn more about Jesus’s life so that I might be able to help others come to know Christ and accept HIM as their Lord and Savior.

  529. I would love to win this book as I am thirsty for more of God so I can face my messes and bring them to him without guilt and fear as he is a God of second chances. He never gives up on us only we give up on him.

  530. Bridgette says:

    Amen Jesus!
    Winner I AM IN 2015. Happy new Year ! ! ! ! Love you all ! ! ! !

  531. Shannon McCarthy says:

I would love to win this book, so I could get a closer look into the life of JESUS. I would use this book not only for myself, but for others that I meet while doing volunteer work helping the homeless and people in need. I love expanding my knowledge on JESUS because it gives me a better look into his life. I strive to help others in the way that GOD would want me too, and knowing that JESUS would do the impossible to get too us makes me try even harder to help others anyway that I can. I just know that this book would be a blessing to me, and the other people that I cross paths with.
Thanks for giving us the chance to win this book.

  532. When I was 16 years old. I had a baby. During my pregnancy my church made me feel like I was doomed to hell. I felt like the biggest sinner of all. I have carried that around for almost 14 years. I needed to read this today. Thank you God for leading me to this website. A copy of your book is what I need to meditate on along with my Bible.

  533. It seems many of us have the same story. One common theme is that at some point we all believed or still believe that we are unlovable in our mess.
As I awake this morning my heart was aching desperately for comfort. As I read the devotion today, it became clear to me that God has not forgotten about me. Every time I need a word (even when I don’t know it) I come to Proverbs 31 because it seems through these devotions God is having a very personal conversation with me. It’s always everything that I need to hear right there at that moment. It makes me feel that God does love me because He goes out of His way to reach me personally through this ministry..
I decided this year that I needed a deeper Jesus experience. I need consecration, I need cultivation, I need Jesus in any way it can have it!!! Sometimes I just want to scream it because I thirst so desperately to have more of Him!!
I’d love to win the 52 weeks book, but I know that there are so many people who need it as well. If it be God’s will for me to have it then great, but if not I want you all to know what this website has done for me. In the midst of all my messed-up(ness), I am so encouraged through your words to keep on living and to keep on striving to be a better daughter to my Father in Heaven! Thank you Proverbs31.org

  534. carolyn lyons says:

I have been following Jesus most of my life, and never had the courage to commit to a church. I have always felt a empty void feeling in the pit of my stomach. Going to fellowship always cause me to release tears. It was like a force was in my heart that was so strong. After leaving church services, I would feel driven,as if I should be doing more. So on Mother’s Day last year I gave myself to Jesus. In doing so, I also help with children ministry. I feel worthless now. Helping feels me up now. I don’t feel empty. Life has been a long struggle for me. Having an abusive husband, and leaving my son behind, was sinful. Although, I am now divorced, I have my son. We both are trying hard to come together as mother and son. Getting his respect after 45 years is priceless. We both are serving God each and every day .Having a copy of “52 weeks with Jesus” we both will be thankful knowing we have a guidance for a stronger year! Thanks in advance. If I am chosen—that would be a blessing sent!
    Sincerely, Carolyn PL

  535. I am the queen of sin! I have always had a problem with accepting God’s forgiveness. I know it in my head, but I don’t feel it in my soul. I do believe Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice on our behalf but I personally don’t feel I am deserving of forgiveness. Maybe this book would speak to me in a way I have not been able to understand as of yet. Thank you Dr. James Merritt for your devotional today.

  536. Adebisi Ifeh says:

I loved the devotion today. As a 26 year old woman , now one year into my marriage I have slowly witnessed some of the negative spiritual and physical consequences of the choices I made when I was younger. When this realisation hits home, it can be hard to pick yourself up and receive God’s forgiveness because of the feelings of shame that can come flooding back with the memories of past mistakes. It is worse when you have a strong Christian upbringing as I did – but thank God for His love. It’s amazing. I would love to have a copy of this book for strengthen the faith of myself and my friends. God bless.

  537. Martha Rodriguez says:

I’d like to get the book for myself, I carry a lot from my past that brings me to sin more than I’d like to admit. It brings me shame and guilt and although I know He makes all things new, I try so hard each day to start fresh and then comes the enemy and I sin just like that. I need these chains to be broken for good, for Him, I don’t want to miss out on his blessings, his plans for my life and his mercy.

  538. Need encouragement this would help – son has Schizophrenia, husband has ETOH. And anxiety issues

  539. I would love to win this for my daughter who believes that she is unlovable and has been beaten down by the world. She needs to understand God’s unconditional love for her and His grace.

  542. I would love to have this book for my husband and I to read.

  543. I am that women at the well. I have learned how to hide my sins and call them everything but sins until I am so thirsty I had nowhere to turn but the well, but even that didn’t quench my thirst. Even though I didn’t think Jesus could still love me, I finally figured out that He was the only one that loved me. HE was the only one that could quench this thirst. Once I fell at His feet and gave Him my everything then and only then did I feel the peace I had been longing to find. I would love to have this book to help me in this new walk with Christ and to help me continue to deepen my relationship with Him.

  545. I would love a copy because I am trying to find my purpose. At the age of 50 I feel that life as passed me by. But I know in my heart that God has a plan and a purpose for me. Maybe reading this book will help me understand my life. I am upset with the way I choose to live my life. Another thing instead of being thirsty, I am craving more of God as well as my life position at the present. I want more because I know I deserve more, I need help and guidance and maybe I can find answers in this book. Thanks for listening.

  546. Joan Covas says:

She is 23, alone, and is fighting addiction and serious depression. She doesn’t believe in God, and believes her failures are far too great for forgiveness and love. I would love to present her this book as a reminder of God’s everlasting, unfailing love for her, and all of his children. Thank you!

  556. If I were given a copy of this book I’d give it to my daughter. She is 28 years old, virtually homeless most of the time, bouncing from one couch to the next. 582. Kerri Kane says:

My husband could use this book desperately. He seems lost and forgets about Jesus. He needs the Lord today more than ever. He chooses to find his solutions in the bottom of a bottle of alcohol instead of giving his troubles to God. He only finds more trouble and despair and no solutions and can’t wrap his head around why. He is lost and in desperate need to connect with Jesus. I have tried and so has my pastor to reach him, he needs Jesus to reach him. This book would be a blessing to his life and our marriage.

I would love a copy of this book. I allowed life (busy schedule) to get in the way of my spiritual relationship with Jesus until circumstances out of my control occurred and all I could do was pray for a miracle. He came through and saved the day. In the mist of my storm my relationship with the Lord grew. I returned to church, made more time for Him, started helping others, I’m getting baptized on Sunday, and I’m just constantly working on improving myself. This book would be even more confirmation that God remains with me even when I unknowingly stray away.

  589. I would love to receive this book as a start to help me in my walk with God.

  590. I would love to win this book. By the poor decisions that I made last year, my marriage has suffered dramatically. My husband and I have been able to pick up the pieces, only with the help of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I am closer to the Lord than I have ever been, but I struggle daily with understanding Jesus’ love and forgiveness for me. I think this book would help me grasp His love for me no matter what my past mistakes have been. I need to have Jesus fill my well and receive His forgiveness and grace.

I would really like a copy of this book. Growing up I hardly ever went to church. When I did, the sermons were way over my head. Three years ago I started dating my now husband who goes to church every Sunday with his family. I joined a Bible study at our church and have loved soaking up every bit of information I can get about God. Most of the time it’s my own children. This is why I’d like to read this one, because this is one thing we all deal with.

  616. I’d love to have a copy of this book because I’ve never really felt like God loves me. I struggle in so many areas in my life and feel like God doesn’t look at me or feel for me the way He does with other Christians. I’ve been a Christian for many years so I KNOW He does; however, it’s been a constant struggle in believing that He loves me so much. I feel like this book would help me in understanding more of God’s love for me.

How can I help others yet be so lost myself?

I feel like I have messed up so bad that I don’t deserve Jesus. All I want right now is to be close to Him. To know Him. I go to church now on a regular basis. I only listen to Christian music yet I still feel like I don’t deserve His love or His presence in my life. I am crying as I type this because these feelings go so deep. I didn’t realize I felt like this til the other day. I was talking to God about my marriage and how bad I have messed up, yet my husband forgives me. But I was telling God that I don’t feel like I deserve my husband to stay with me. And it hit me that I felt the same way about Jesus. I don’t deserve to be loved by Him.

  631. I would love a copy of this book. I’m 56, my children are gone from home. One is married living in Alaska. The other working on his masters degree but dealing with panic/anxiety and depression ( occasionally with thoughts of suicide). I find myself struggling with depression and extreme feelings of failure. Never worthy of God’s love.

  632. I could definitely use this book to help battle my anxiety disorder and focus on His word, grace, love, and much more…and would gladly pass along to others who will benefit from it as well.

  633. Maybe this is what I need. I have been feeling more and more like God has forgotten me

She was brought up in a Christian home and was baptised at the age of 10. She left home when she was 18, became pregnant a d now has a precious two year old. She feels now that if God loved her, she would not be in the position she is in now. I try to talk to her along with her grandmother who raised her and tell her that God forgives all who are sincere and ask for forgiveness. She just fells hopeless and helpless. She doesn’t live in the same state as we do now and cannot return home until after her trail, if then.

    Very much needed

  661. I met James Merritt when he was the Pastor of my Uncle Larry’s church in Georgia. A great man indeed. I love this post as God met me at my well and rescued me.

  662. I would love to read this and to be able to share with two young ladies who are working very hard to overcome their life choices that have landed them incarcerated.

  663. I am so tired… I have been a born again Christian for 33 years. I have stumbled and come back much stronger and on fire for Him; after a 18 year marriage relationship ended because my husband cheated and did not want to save our family. I am in an amazing church and I help lead a relationship support group. But this past year has been full of trials; my well broke and I was without water for 20 weeks and then my hot water heater stopped working so I was without hot water for a month, today I woke up with frozen pipes. In the past 3 weeks my car has needed hundreds of dollars of repair. And today I was notified that my house insurance is being cancelled due to repairs I need to have done. On top of this my child support has ended, cutting my income in half; due to my daughter graduating high school and entering college. And so therefore leaving me in financial hardship.
I am blessed and I know that, but the enemy keeps hitting me while I am still down and it is hard to feel His help and love sometimes, and in that situation, sometimes hard to support others in our group that need help. Thank you for your time. God bless you and all that you are doing, Annette

I am making changes in my life little by little, day by day, and praying He gives me wisdom and discernment so my steps do not stray.

  668. I am privileged to be an educator. Yet with that honor comes great responsibility. I need to shine for Christ each day, even when I feel broken, useless, or ineffectual for his Kingdom. Reading God’s truths and allowing them to penetrate my heart helps me to empty myself of me and be a vessel willing to be filled with Christ’s love. I need to share His love, to overflowing, with my students or anyone who thirsts for the True Living Water.

  669. Mary Walker says:

  732. After making some terrible choices relating to church in my later teenage/early adulthood life.. I ran away from God and everything to do with my religion. Last year I made the resolution to find a church I could once again trust and be comfortable in. After a year of battles with myself on going and not going, I am finally beginning to find a nitch I fit into and am beginning to thrive. I am working on becoming a better Christian for myself and for God. I feel like this would be an awesome book for me in my journey in finding peace in my past and faith in God for my future.

  733. I encounter the worst of society; hundreds of them a year as part of my job. Some don’t know where to turn, some don’t care. This would be perfect to help me give them a choice, and maybe some answers.

  734. I would love ❤ to read this book
