When Prayer Seems Impractical

When Prayer Seems Impractical

July 8, 2014

“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5 (NASB)

Leslie Ludy

A busy mom of six once told me, “I’m too busy NOT to pray!” Therein lies the secret to a life that really works.

Putting Jesus first and making prayer a priority is the key to finding the peace, strength and joy we all long for. And yet, many of us might admit we’ve got our thinking regarding busyness and prayer backward.

Let’s be honest. As busy women, prayer often becomes that one project we’ll “get to eventually,” like cleaning the cobwebs from the ceiling or writing a cookbook.

With so many demands on our time and energy, most of us conclude the only real prayer life we can have are those short bursts of heavenly appeal (Help, Lord!) during the stressful moments of our day.

I’ve been there … many times. The busier I am, the less practical prayer seems.

But I have come to realize when prayer seems the most unrealistic, that’s when I need it the most. In fact, the “Too busy NOT to pray” principle has revolutionized my life.

Just a few years ago, our four children were all ages 4 and under. Three were in diapers, and the typical noise level in our house rivaled the Whos in Whoville on Christmas morning. Spending quality time with Christ each day felt next to impossible.

I reasoned, Surely Jesus understands how many important things I need to get done. He won’t mind if I just whisper a few hurried prayers here and there as I’m scurrying around!

Yet in the busyness of my days, I continued to hear Jesus’ gentle whisper, inviting me to come away from my hustle and bustle and be with Him.

So finally, I began to make room in my life for true prayer, even though it was far from convenient. I asked God to show me pockets of time during my day when I could steal away to be with Him. Such as when the children were napping or when my husband could take charge of things.

I asked God to equip me with the discipline to get up earlier and make my time with Christ a far higher priority than temporal distractions like social media and movies.

As I began to live by the “Too busy NOT to pray” principle, I was amazed at what happened. Suddenly, life became fruitful instead of frustrating. My responsibilities and demands didn’t change. But instead of rushing around in a stressful frenzy, I had a supernatural strength to tackle my daily challenges calmly and joyfully. My defeated and overwhelmed perspective was replaced with a victorious, conquering one.

I was learning the truth of today’s key verse, “… apart from Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5b). I have come to realize that I cannot truly thrive in any area of my life unless I’m spending purposeful time in God’s presence on a regular basis.

I still have a tendency to put tasks above prayer. But now, when I start coming up with reasons why I cannot spend quality time with Christ, I remind myself that actually, I’m too busy NOT to pray. Nothing on my task list could ever be more important than making time with Jesus. He alone has everything I need for the battles I’m called to fight.

The busier our days are, the more important prayer is. So when prayer seems impractical, let’s remember that the very best solution is to get on our knees.

Lord, help me never forget that spending time in Your presence is what will give me strength for everything else I’m called to do. Teach me to not just fit You into my life when it’s convenient, but to truly build my life around You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

I am a first time mom of a two year old boy and is bearing my second child, and at the same time, really knowing God for the very first time in my life in the truest sense of the words. I am falling short of patience with my son but reading books about how to handle myself to help me handle my son taught me a lot more about being a first time mom, but my husband hasn’t adjusted himself yet from being a first time dad and I want to be equipped to help him and teach my children about God the moment they knwo how to figure things out. I would love to have this book. It will help me on my first step to my life-changing journey with God.

  5. I am a stay at home mother to 4 children and while some days are busier than others, I try my hardest to put God first. Sadly, most days, there are many “Lord, help me!” prayers than anything else. I could use all the encouragement I can get!

  6. Jennifer Weingate says:

This book sounds wonderful. It would be a great way to gain additional insight into making more time for praying.

  7. I could really use this book right about now. I need the discipline to set aside special time to spend with The Lord

  8. Stephanie says:

I’d give it to myself because ive been single for 10 years and mothering three teenagers alone is not for the faint of heart.

  9. Trisha Hull says:

Very close friend and momma of 2 boys and young girl- fighting the ultimate fight of a single mom with fibro, anxiety, depression, etc.. At her wits end even after going to church every Sunday. She needs devine healing and praise.

  10. I try to pray whenever I possibly can. You can never be too busy for time with God. You just have to get your main priorities figured out of what’s most important to you. Ultimately, placing Jesus as a priority in my life allows me to get through whatever obstacles and
challenges I may be facing in my daily routine.
“I have come to realize that when prayer seems the most unrealistic, that is when I need it the most.”
What a true thought for tonight! No matter what I may be going through, prayer can help me overcome whatever challenges I may be dealing with. What a strong weapon prayer is against the enemy’s plans!
“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5 (NASB)
Wow! What a powerful thought for tonight! When we are in God’s presence, all things are definitely possible. Without Him, we can do absolutely nothing, but go down the incorrect road.
“… apart from Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5b
Wow! I think that this is a very powerful
reminder! Without God, we can do nothing on our own. We’ll be more prone to falling into whatever trap Satan desides to attempt to throw our way.
‘Lord, help me never forget that spending time in Your presence is what will give me strength for everything else I’m called to do. Teach me to not just fit You into my life when it’s
convenient, but to truly build my life around You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”~Leslie Ludy
Wow! What a very powerful prayer! It’s
encouraging to learn how to pray by watching others. You get to see how they place God at the forefront of what they do throughout their entire lives. You can then put this into
practical use by developing your individual prayer time.
Luke 10:41-42a, “Martha, Martha, you are
worried and bothered about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part …” (NASB)
Wow! How so powerful! In this story, we see that Martha is super busy with things on her own agenda. She’s worried about getting
everything done before taking a break. Mary, on the other hand, knows what the number one priority in her life is supposed to be.
Ephesians 6:18, “… praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints —” (NKJV)
Wow! How so incredibly true! This verse is saying that we should pray and be in tuned to whatever God may be telling us. Listening to what He may be saying is what we need to strongly do throughout our entire prayer life.

  11. Preshus says:

I am a mother, and also a teacher; I can see this book helping me both personally as a mother, and also professionally, as a mentor, motivator, and nurturer to many young souls acting out, crying out, and in need of divine intervention. Truth is, I struggle daily with challenges of life, parenting, and being a teacher; and before I can successfully help others, I could REALLY use some help myself…

  12. This would be such a gift

  13. We are anxiously (trying to to be worrisome) awaiting our two under three littles from Africa. These will be our first babies. 🙂 motherhood is something I long for and also feel so unprepared for when I truly revel in the importance of raising them to know and love Christ. I’ve heard wonderful things about this book and another momma recommended it as well. Thanks for your consideration!

    • Victoria says:

      Kendra,
My husband & I went through the same waiting period for our 3 so I can relate to your situation. I’m praying for God’s peace for both of you and for His wisdom as you prepare to be a mommy & daddy for the first time. This time of waiting can seem like it will never end, I know, but it will and you’ll have 2 of God’s wonderful, precious little gifts in your life. All I can suggest is to use this time to read everything you can get on being a parent & raising your children for the Lord. Soon you’ll be so busy finding time to read will be difficult! But it’s so worth it. I’ll be praying for you your husband. 🙂

  14. nichole says:

  15. Natalia Cortez says:

Tonight I laid in bed, crying, feeling defeated and like the world’s worst mother. The truth is I’ve put God aside for so long that I’d become so lost. In my despair, realizing this, I cried out to Him tonight…I cried for a long time and wondered if He would even hear me. Then I absentmindedly open up my email to realize that He has been with me all along, waiting for me to seek his guidance. I would love to win this book, for I am in need of such a helpful tool.

  16. Dear Leslie, this is all I need, making God n prayer life my priority. While I am here in this waiting room, as a loner and single mom waiting for gods hand in my life as a Saviour, healer and my provider, such reading will quench my thirst in this dry land. God bless you!!

Finding time to pray is a struggle but I am really going to make an effort to make time because I am too busy and can’t afford not to. Too many people rely on my guidance.

  23. Would love a copy of set aside motherhood to learn how to more fully depend on God.

  24. Tashay Thrash says:

I need this please! I am the mother of 4 and I work full time. I feel on edge and all over the place sometimes and I think I miss the opportunity often to share and show Christ to my kids.

  25. This was so on time for me. I get so hung up with my to do list for the day, that I don’t have time yet alone make time to pray. I think about it all off the time with a quick prayer here and there. Thank you for sharing this, and pray that I make prayer a higher priority in my life.

  26. I am a young new mom of a 2-month-old trying to figure out this great, stressful, overwhelming, and rewarding thing called motherhood and how to glorify God through it all. I would love to have this book to pick up and be encouraged then pass it along to another new mommy friend.

That is the power of prayer! I can say today that I am blessed with 4 children–all serving God! I am expecting my first grandchild and would love to give this book as a gift to my daughter-in-law to help her start off her family knowing the importance of keeping an active prayer life!

  33. Arlene Rodriguez says:

  36. Ebony Gilbert says:

I could really use this book. Preparing to enter motherhood for the 3rd time after a gap and could use additional tools and resources as a mother but also as I seek to minister to others.

  37. I would love to have this book for myself. I have been raised in a Christian home and have grown up in the Christian faith, but since I have had kids myself I have found it hard to make time for God. I feel closest to Paul, I know what I should be doing and it is not what I’m doing. I have found that being a stay at home mom is the hardest thing ever, and I never ever expected that. I struggle daily and feel guilty about everything.

  38. I am so unorganized. I have good intentions and start many things, but rarely complete any of them. It makes me feel like a failure. As a person, a partner, a leader, a friend, a mom. I have started to rely on Daily To Do Lists…. the one (and most important thing) not on my lists? Jesus Time. I need to start physically writing God first on my task list. Every. Single. Day. Before I try to squeeze in all the interruptions of being a Mom.

  39. Cassie O. says:

As a new Mom of a beautiful 6 month old boy, this book would be very helpful to me as I’m still in transition as far as my time with God. I am now busier than ever and I know it will only get worse.

  40. For me it’s like that book by Max Lucado “You Are Special.” The more time I spend with my maker, the less it matters what others think. The more I know I am special because I am His. I would love a copy of the book.

  41. Jacqlyn Rand says:

Thank you for this. After starting a new job, my time seems so chaotic with my boys. I was shooting up a short prayer now and again just asking for help in those crazy moments. I started to forget how great it is to spend time with God! Even if I do not win this, I appreciate that this story put things in perspective!

  42. mom to 4 says:

What a wonderful devotion to begin a new day! I would like this book…..i am a mom to four. Ages 9-7-6-4 i do whisper prayers through out the day for patience. i have quiet time before my kids get up. But new application prayers and scripture would be extra nourishment for my heart and mind. Have a great day !

  43. I’d like to give my sister this book if I win. She just had her second baby and is a busy working mom. Reminder of praying especially when we are busy is important!

  46. Rebecca says:

Thank you for the reminder of the importance of prayer in our daily lives. It is so so easy to get so busy that I forget to spend time in prayer.
I would love a copy of this book! I have two children (11 & 14). I need encouragement and resources on how to handle these teen years!

  47. Grace Crapitto says:

My daughter really needs this as she struggles for prayer time with her 3 little ones and their demands.

  48. I am a mother of three children who works full time and is trying to start a business. I have a daily prayer time but sometimes feel like it is not enough. I want my children to love God more than anything. Would love to read this book.

  49. I would love this book. I no longer have little ones; they are now in high school. I have never been so busy in my life. Prayer happens in the car on my way to work or when hectic becomes overwhelming. I always get up early and used to faithfully pray my rosary, but my early morning quiet time has become my opportunity to plan my day or think over what went wrong in my testing at work. I need better perspective.

  50. This book really hits home. This is exactly what I have been struggling with – finding time to have my “personal time” ALONE with God. I’m a mom of 3, my oldest just turned 4. I absolutely love being a mom, yet I feel like I’m struggling every day. I know what the answer is… I need to find my own personal time with God.

  51. This would be an awesome thing. I am looking for a way to make God a real thing to my children. I also am looking to deepen my relationship with God. Thanks for doing this!

  52. I utilize Proverbs31 daily devotions as my personal morning Bible Study. I’ve thought about commenting many times, but have not until now. Here’s why:
I recently started a group bible study: kindergartens moms…we are a small group that met b/c our 6 year olds were all in the same kindergarten class last year.
I’ve never led a Bible Study before, but this group seems thirsty and full of hope. A big topic of discussion has been around our busyness and our “passing thought prayers”.
We all share the stress of working full time, raising our kids, living like the Proverbs31 women and managing our sanity through it all.
I guess I’m I felt compelled to comment today because the “too busy NOT to pray” statement is something we could utilize as a discussion in our group, as it truly changes the mentality of why we pray in the first place.
I hope this makes sense. Thanks so much for this amazing organization and the way it changes lives through Christ.

  53. Kristy White says:

I need all the encouragement I can get to keep my house orderly and my kids obedient in a loving, not controlling way. Thank you!

  54. I could really use this book! With three little ones under 5, while I know that time alone with God is what I need, I struggle with the balance of finding it a lot.

  55. Michelle McQueen says:

I’m a momma of 3 and work full time. I love everything I do, but usually rushing no matter what.

  56. Annabel says:

I have been setting Gods word aside and have been going through a rough time with my marriage and everything just seems to fall apart. Really would love to read this book and get back to where things should be.

  57. This book would be a blessing to me right now. After 23 years of marriage my husband and I are divorcing. The children will live with me 75 percent of the time. In trying to deal with my own emotions about the divorce I find. Yes lf wanting to also be a better mother. I seek God will always in my life and need his guidance in EVERY area. This book would bless me betond measure and when I am done with it it would donate it to the church library or to a friend who may also need encouragement and if when she is done with the book and she does the same ….and so on, imagine how many people will be blessed by your book.

  58. Michelle McQueen says:

    … Stupid button :-/
This falls into the I-know-I-need-but don’t consistently do- category. My Grandmother is an amazing prayer warrior and I’ve always tried to emulate her godly example.

  59. I am an older momma of nine and have learned this principle. I would pass this on to one of my married daughters with 4-5 littles in her care. Thank you for the chance to win.

  60. Loved this! Thank you!

  61. PJ Ingram says:

This post is timely and very encouraging reminder for us who find ourselves too busy to pray…I am definitely going to adopt the principle “Too Busy NOT to Pray”. I find myself in need of this book..so I hope to be one of the winners!

  62. Therese Wojcik says:

This is so fitting for me right now. I literally made a list of to-dos this morning and “prayer card” was (embarrassingly!) LAST! I really needed this wake-up. Our sermon at church on Sunday was titled “Breaking the chains of busyness”. Sometimes God is not so subtle when he wants us to notice where we need to change and I feel like he’s showing me now where I need to! With 2 sweet little ones my priorities are sometimes skewed. Today I’m changing that to do list! Thank you God for your gentle encouragements!

  63. Wow, this devotional really spoke to my heart! I have 5.5 year old precious triplets. Raising 3 little babies is hard physically because they can do so little for themselves, but now we are starting to get into the emotional stage. I would love a copy of this book to help me be more prepared as a mommy:-)!

  64. Wow…..this is my life everyday……..I would love to win one.

  65. Lydia Hostetler says:

I want to be too busy not to pray.

  66. Mariann says:

God always know what we need to hear. This devotional was something I need to hear today. I struggle with my pray life and yet I’m trying to teach my kids to have one. Would love the book and more devotions like this one. Thank you!

  67. My children and I have had a very rough year and I would love a book that gives me more teaching on how to be a mother and a prayer warrior!

  68. Monica Russell says:

I am a new Christian lady….I am 42 years old and a mother of two almost teenagers lovely children….I am eager to learn as much as possible about Jesus so I can also teach my children as well …This book will be great for me but God knows who really deserves….May God bless you all!!!! Lets keep praying for each other and put Him first!!! Thank you!!!

  69. Valerie says:

Wow! It looks like a lot of us could use this book. I am in my late 30’s and about to become a mom for the first time. It is an exciting but daunting challenge. I would like to hve a have copy of this book to help me start the path of motherhood in the right foot!

  70. I’d love to have a copy of this book. I come from a heritage of women who are prayer warriors and who pray for me and many others daily. I have felt for years that I have got to find a way to establish a disciplined prayer life, because, my Grandmother will not always be around and I really feel like I have been called to pick up where she leaves off.
My Grandmother has gotten up at 2AM for over 50 years and spent time on her knees in prayer, petitioning God especially for those in our family. She says it’s her appointment with God and he faithfully wakes her up. She has only not done this on a handful of occasions when she’s been sick.
I have struggled to build real regular prayer into my life for years. PleAse send me a copy of this book. I’d love to know how to establish this and stick to it.
    Thanks!

  71. naarah crouch says:

I would love to have this book so that i
Can get more knowledge as a mom and a stepmomand pass it on.

  72. Mary Ann bell says:

Thank you for the insight on this. So many times I see me doing this. Just little words or conversations to God while busy doing something else. I really do need to set a time everyday and give him my full attention as He gives it to me. He is just waiting on me.

  73. Rosalyn says:

I am a military spouse and mother of three (two teenagers and a toddler). I have found that when I take the time to pray and keep God at the center I can handle life. He redeems the time I spend with Him. This devotion have really reminded me to cherish my prayer time and encouraged me to continue to seek God for the discpline to wake up 30 mins early to spend with him. I am going to adopt the phrase “I am too busy NOT to pray” as a part of my affirmations to remind me of the why I pray. I would love a copy of the book to read and apply to my life and then pass it on to another mother to bless their life as well.

  74. I would love to have this book! I need more prayer, more Jesus right now, just to get through each day. Just trying to keep them entertained over summer vaca is hard and to fit in my own stuff plus my “me” time with Jesus!

  75. I want to have REAL prayer time….I just don’t. I would hope the book would give me the boost I need to change.

  76. I work a more than full time job from home while keeping my son at home with me. I wouldn’t have it any other way but some days I feel like I am letting everyone and everything down in the process. And we are “in between” churches which is the scariest, loneliest, most difficult challenge I have faced in a while. I feel like I am “losing” my faith. I know God hasn’t changed or moved…I am just struggling to maintain. Your prayers and this book would be so appreciated.

  77. Meghan Faircloth says:

For too long I have been continuing the bad habit of running to media for “rest and recoup” at the end of the day or hitting my snooze button too many times in the morning instead of taking that time to abide in Christ. When i do prioritize time with Him, I notice an incredible difference. He gives me strength and patience and calm, and somehow my ability to get things done is multiplied. I used to spend so much time with Him pre- kids, and I miss it! I have a 4 year old daughter, 2 year old daughter, and I am 7 months pregnant with our son. Things are wild now, but they’re about to get crazier!!! I need this book!!! Praying to get it!

  78. Jennifer says:

I could use this book. So many times I get up and rush to get started on my busy day. Things start to go wrong and that’s when I remember that I didn’t start my day off with Jesus! I need to talk to him every day

  79. I have learned that when I give God time through prayer and reading I have more time, more patience, and more productivity all the rest of the day. This is something I share with other moms often. As you mention, Leslie, I am FAR from perfect in my walk and when I do not make that time I feel, hear and see the difference.
I would like this book to give to a young mother’s group in my church — within the group, many moms from other areas (churched and unchurched) come for support. I think this would make a tremendous tool for them.
    Thank you.

  80. I think I needed this reminder too. Thank you.

  81. I would love to inspire other moms as a “set apart” mother and grandmother of 14 grandchildren…..

  82. Sherri Y. says:

I would love to have this book! Mothering is often looked at as a hard job & I agree to some extent, but I too am learning that when I choose to set apart time for Jesus, mothering becomes easy & beautiful.

  83. Jessica says:

I would be ver blessed in receiving this book. I am a young mother of three, and need all the wise counsel I can get. Thank u!!!!

  84. Michelle Howard says:

Would love to win a copy of this book to read and pass on to other mommy’s! We need Jesus!

  85. Cristal says:

I am in this struggle everyday. It seems to be something that is in my face a lot lately. My pastor is doing a 10 week sermon session on prayer, my Sunday school class we are talking about prayer, and I feel convicted about the time that I don’t spend in prayer. I have 4 children. 15, 13, 6, and 7 months. I am a stay at home mom but I also go to school full time. My two oldest are from a previous marriage and I have been seeing pictures of how my daughter is giving into peer pressure of her step sister and her step sisters friend. I have started praying but don’t feel it is true prayer. It is the quick Lord help me to know what to do. Not the time alone down on my face crying out to GOd that I should be doing. I need help in this area. I would love to read these books and possibly pass them on when I am done.

  86. I’m a mom to twin boys & I work full time. A lot of times I feel I don’t know how to do anything right or have time for anything. I forget what is important & who I need to be making time for. God wants to have a relationship with me & I do as well. I’d love to have this book!

  87. I would give this book to my sister in law. She just had her first baby. The book sounds like a wonderful gift to help her in her new journey!

  88. Julie Reid says:

Mom to three young boys in need of Jesus every moment of the day! This would be a great addition to my library of mom books I don’t have time to read. Ha! Thank you for your devotional today it’s a wonderful reminder to put Jesus first.

  89. Thank you for this encouragement today. Always a great reminder of how easily we can let go of our first love. I no longer have babies at home but life continues to tug at me for my attention and time. I try not to fall into the trap of getting everything done before having my time. It never happens. No matter how efficient I can be there is always more and sometimes even unexpected things get added. Sooooo….. when I feel like my brain is scrambled eggs from so much to think about I realize I have been neglecting my first love. I enjoy so much reading His word, listening to Him speak to my heart and leaving our time together feeling complete and full of hope to conquer the day. So I would love to share this book with women of all ages and stages of life that I know. I believe it will encourage them to keep their time with God the main thing in their lives in all they do.

  90. This book is just what my daughter needs! She is a single mother of two beautiful girls, and she strives to live for Christ. Because she works full time and is also very much a hands-on mommy, she rarely has any time for herself, except every other weekend when the girls are with their dad. Working in retail, she works on weekends, except for Sundays, so she still doesn’t have a lot of time to herself. With her job, her work at church on the praise team, and being fully involved in her children, she still takes time for her parents and her grandfather, as well as helping others. She wants to be the best Godly mother her girls can have, and she is open to and eager for any new book that leads her on the right path.

  91. Amber Martin says:

I would love to win this I like many other mom’s need the guidance to put God first in my life each day. I also turn to social media instead of spending time with God.

  92. I would love to read the book. I need encouragement while learning how to do this “mom” thing well and godly. Thank you for your words today, we all are definitely too busy to not pray. Spent an extra few minutes with my dad already.

  93. Heather Lear says:

I REALLY need this!!!!!! I am a working mom of four and my hubby works at night. I long for the weekends when I can find time for prayer And Bible study, only to see those hours fleet . I need some practical advice and encouragement in this area.

  94. Petra Davidson says:

I would love to have this book to share with my sister. She is going through such difficult times I believe this would help her immensely.

  95. I could really use this book within my circle of friends, my many co-workers ( lots of nurses and aids) plus within my home to help me be the role model to my 4 girls and one boy that god created me to be.

  96. I read “Set Apart Girl” when I was single and it was such a blessing! I just got married and we would like to have kids soon so I would love to read this book in the next chapter of my life 🙂

  97. Katie VK says:

I’m wrapping up my first year of motherhood this month and would love to make this time more intentional!

  98. Angela C. says:

I have faced many struggles & challenges, mentally, physically & spiritually in the last 3 years and the quotes she gives in this devotion strike a cord with me. I need to pray more & worry less. That’s one of my favorite reminders too..the verse quote from Jesus about Mary & Martha. I would like to first read this, myself, and then pass it to friends (moms alike).

  99. I love those quiet alone moments with the Lord–those times of undivided devotion to prayer. They are sweet and peaceful and rejuvenate my soul. And still I’ve learned that constant prayer in the activities of the day (or night)–because God is right there with me at all times–keeps me focused on Him and connected to the Giver of Life. Prayer is indeed our source of strength, our help when temptations come, and our very rest.

  100. Kellye Grimes says:

Like many other moms have posted, it is so easy to think you don’t have time for prayer. It is vital to our relationship with our Lord. If we treated our friends like we do God, we probably wouldn’t have as many.

  101. I am claiming this book for my daughter LeAnn, she is a mother of two and going through some battles with her marriage. She is a Godly woman in great need of encouragement.

  102. Andrea Simmons says:

    Hi Lesley,
I need a copy of this book. I am a stay at home mom of two, but lately am struggling with the busyness that summers tend to bring with young children. This summer started out really busy and I have been trying to balance keeping the kids busy while maintaining my prayer life. It’s been a challenge and have been wondering how other moms do it. Your devotional today was an answer to my questions of “how do other moms do this? When do they have quality time with the Lord?

Thank you for sharing your story,

    God’s Blessings,
    Andrea

  103. Brandae says:

I’m always so busy with my crew and the constant life changes – I’d love to read this book!

  104. New mom here- would love a copy!

  105. I have a sister and sister-in-law who are in their season of young motherhood. They would love a copy of this book. I would have loved it too when my girls were young! But God is still faithful and supplied us with grace to get through those years.

  106. Both my daughter and daughter in law are expecting and I would love the opportunity to pass a copy along to them as they raise their precious families in a very difficult world…

  107. Bethany says:

I do not have children, but have recently discovered I can’t get through the day in my own power. I have a sister that has created for herself such a busy life, I feel she has lost sight of her priorities and i am concerned for her family- I would greatly appreciate a copy of your book. Just maybe it might be the insight she needs.

  108. Jenny blanchard says:

This is me! I never have time to stop and read these. So glad I did today.

  109. My life is busy and I pray as often as I can, but for now, I’d really love to win this book for my sweet friend Karin. She’s going through a rough patch right now. She’s one of the hardest working, devoted women that I have met. She led me to Proverbs 31.org and I’m forever grateful. Through her friendship, I’m learning so much about being a woman of God. It would be so nice to give her the gift of this book! Many Blessings! -Beth

  110. If I’m not careful, my morning devotional readings can easily become more of a routine than the sacred yet intimate time with God it’s intended to be. Thank you for the encouragement to always make daily communion with God a priority.

  111. melody martin says:

As a mother of 3 four and under I would love to read this book!

  112. I want to be the best mother I can be and I know that God is in control. However, I want to devote more time to Him so that I can follow His Guidance as I raise my child.

  113. kimberly says:

excellent devotion for me this morning. Thank-you. I so often am guilty of those 5 second prayers thrown heavenwards during the day. “Lord, give me patience”. “Lord, give me wisdom.” “Give me words”…. Life is busy whether you have 1 child or 8. Sports alone can take up an entire lifetime. Life is busy whether you are a new mom, young, or a seasoned mom, not so young (I am not so young, but I still have a 4 yo) We have 6 children, 3 with special needs. Our youngest with Down Syndrome. She is the light of my life, yet therapies can run you ragged. my youngest sister just moved in with us with her 2 boys (and 2 cats :/). She is an alcoholic, who basically acts as a child (prodigal son anyone?). I get up in the morning and I am so worried about getting coffee made and breakfast on the table, chores done, and laundry folded, Jesus gets pushed aside. I start out with those empty prayers. Sometimes He is pushed so far on the side He doesn’t get real time until church service Sunday morning. “apart from ME, you can do nothing” How I needed this this morning. This is my favorite quote, “I have come to realize that I cannot truly thrive in any area of my life unless I’m spending purposeful time in God’s presence on a regular basis”. I need to live it out. Please pray for me, that I would be purposeful in my prayer time. That instead of help me prayers, I would spend quality time praising and learning. I know I will this morning.

  114. I would give this to my very busy mother of 4 daughter.

  115. I have five kids 7 and under. Your devotional was so true!

  116. I am a type A person. I can’t get past the need to complete my to do list and not just making time with God another checkmark on my day. I need to make time to spend with him daily and authentically. I think this book would help me to see beyond the busyness of my to do as a new stay at home mom and find time alone to be with him.

  117. These words were very needed this morning. This is an area that I struggle with as a working mom and wife. But I’m TOO busy NOT to pray! Thank you for this. I would love the book by the way!

  118. WM Jackson says:

Today’s devotion describes my current situation. As a working mother of two, I am constantly on the go trying to fulfill everyone else’s needs first (hubby, kids, work, etc). While my heart is in the right place, my actions show my priorities are out of order. I need help refocusing and feel this book will help me do so.

  119. This post was very eye opening and helpful. Leslie Ludy’s books are I’m sure very inspirational and would be great to have.

  120. I needed to read this lovely devotional today. Even though I’m a Grandmother of one and a Mother of three grown children I could still use the book, then pass it onto my children and even to some of my friends.
As busy Mothers and Grandmothers, we are Never too busy to pray. The Lord wakes me early each day so I can spend quite time alone with Him before the Busy day begins.
Thank you for sending this devotional as a reminder to me.
    God Bless
    Suzan

  121. Margaret Evans says:

I have 3 daughters with 2 children each. I’d love to have this book to ” pass down the line” to all 3 of them. Life will go better when Gods #1!

  124. Encouragement from other women who have struggled as I do to live a Christ centered life is so helpful. I find that when I willingly and continuously share with my friends how unperfect I am and my personal issues with staying on the right path that they seem encouraged to walk with me and find their own path. Id love to add this book to my personal ‘support shelf’ , the shelf where I keep my Bible and other inspirational items.

  125. Leigh Ann says:

I am a “late in life” mom. At 45, I have a 2 year old! I work full time and have a husband who works 60+ hours a week and is getting a MBA at night. (I feel like a single mom!) Having the energy to do everything that needs to be done and doing it with a happy heart seems so overwhelming each day. I would love to read Leslie’s book for advice and inspiration on handling day to day life while growing my relationship with Christ.

  126. Mary Weiss says:

    Too busy not to pray!
Our Pastor spoke on this subject last Sunday and here it is again in this devotional today.
I would say God wants our attention, He wants to hear from us daily!
He wants to be our go to in all of our life situation.
He is with me and I am with Him!

  127. His Word and Prayer is what God gives us to connect with Him. I need to be reminded of this often as I keep going back to my habits of self-reliance and independence. This book will be a wonderful reminder of where my priorities should be.

  128. I have three littles at home and would love to read this book 🙂

  129. Gretchen says:

I’m a mom of 3, a 5 yr old and 3 yr old twins. I have a tendency to allow busyness to take over!

  132. So true.. Thank you for being my reminder this morning 🙂

  133. beth knowles says:

I sit here with my coffee, dutifully reading.through Proverbs. “God surely you must see how dry I feel, too many things racing through my mind, Im too busy.” I read this devotional and this is what I v ot from it. “Beth, Beth thou art careful and troubled about many things, but one thing is needful…” Wow. Yeah, I worry about everything but my prayer life. Very eye opening. Thanks be to God.

  134. Danielle roger says:

I need to read this book! With five kids under five I need the supernatural help that only Jesus can give!

  136. Brigitte says:

I would love to win this book as I am a first time mom to an 8 month ol!

  137. Jenny K says:

God has been whispering to me too about waking up earlier and spending less time on social media and watching tv so I can spend quality time with Him. I know that time with Him is the best way I can love my family, even though it seems to be the hardest thing to do. This devo totally hit home for me!

  138. I just had my third baby and am struggling with making time to be alone with Jesus. I would love this book!

  139. Melinda says:

I an in that same struggle right now. But I’ve started putting a priority on study and prayer time before I do anything else. (I did start a load of laundry first this morning, but before my day truly gets started) It has only been about a week, but it makes a huge difference. As a mom of 4 (11, 7, 5, 2) its crazy in our house. And as a teacher also there’s never enough time in the day. One day I was having a bit of a pity party about life in general, trying to figure out how I could fix it and I heard this voice say, you can’t without me. I’m very independent and I have trouble asking for help, but since I’ve started this prayer journal and study time, Jesus has shown me some areas we need to work on, and I’m excited instead of fearful of how I’m going to do it! Thanks for this great reminder that I’m not alone with this struggle!

  140. Janice Babcock says:

I would like to give to my daughter who has 4 children. 3 have autism.

  141. Arnesia says:

As I woke up this morning I thought to myself am I really benefiting by getting up early sacrificing my sleep just to study and pray. Thoughts ran through my mind saying your prayers aren’t working they’re not benefiting you in no way. Your life is still drained, you are tired physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. Depression is starting to take a toll on you. Yet I know that all this is lies from the enemy. Even in the midst of it all and no matter how I feel I will continue to get up and seek The Lord in prayer and His word.

  142. This would be good. As a soon to be first time mom with a full time job and husband, this would be great!

  143. How wonderful. Can’t wait to share with my daughters and church prayer team. Would love to win a copy. Thank you.

  144. I am a recently seperated mother if 3 little ones. I am working to better myself to be a better mother for my kids and I cannot do that without Gods help. Id love this book to help guide me in my journey.

  145. This is an area I really need to work on in my daily walk!

  146. You used all my favorite Bible verses in one devotion, so I’m sure I was meant to read this today. My emotions yesterday went from: can I do this, call and say you need to come home, God give me strength. My day is filled with many prayers thanking God you the opportunity to be frazzled by children. I do get up earlier now so that I can have devotion time (and coffee) before the challenge begins.

  147. I need to find more time for purposeful interactions with God. Proverbs 31 Devotions are definitely helping with that!!

  148. Would love love love to have this book!

  149. I would live a copy of this book bc I really enjoyed Leslie’s post today – very encouraging.

  153. Jennifer says:

In the past month I quit my job to be a stay at home mother to my two year old, and the baby that is on the way. This book sounds like a great way to kick off my new role as full time mom!

  154. Katrina says:

I am realizing more and more how much of an effect my decisions, habits, and words have on my children. This book would be a great resource and encouragement to me as I strive to become the momma God wants me to be!

  155. Theresa says:

With four children 11 and younger, I know well that I need to spend daily quiet time, but practical help on how to make that happen would be very helpful

  156. Jamie Clements says:

I truly could use this book!

  157. I loved this!! Thank you!!
I have seen this exact thing happen in my home.
This is such a good reminder to put my God first so my life works and I have the strength and joy like you said. It’s just being consistent that I struggle with. Which is crazy bc I see such a big difference.
I would love to read your book but I would have to share it with my sister, whom I just visited in ny. She has definitely put many things before God and stressed about how she doesn’t have any time for anything except work and her kids’ sports.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom. I will share today’s devotional with her.

  158. I would love this book! I’m a new mom, back to work, and learning to juggle everything has been more of a challenge than I expected with just one! I’m still looking for that routine where I can have quiet time on a regular basis in my day!

  159. This is so true. I used to set aside one hour a day for prayer and I don’t do that now. I was much more useful in the Kingdom then. Thank you for the reminder

  160. Colette says:

This was a great reminder for me. The Lord has been putting this exact issue on my heart lately!

  161. Lori S. says:

It’s too easy to lose focus. This book sounds like a great read for my sister and hopefully we could share it and discuss.

  162. Christa says:

This would be a great book to have.

  163. I constantly feel overwhelmed and tired, sneaking in a quick prayer here and there. I know I need to dedicate time to pray and listen, and I think this book would be a great source of motivation for me.

  164. Thank you for your encouraging words with truth and light! I love the phrase “I’m too busy NOT to pray!” I struggle with balance of managing my home, parenting struggles with my children that need attention, keeping up with the daily household chores, homeschooling and of course spending time with family, friends and serving my neighbors around me.

  165. I would love to win a copy of this book. I don’t feel like I can ever read too many books on motherhood, as I have gleaned something special from each and every one. Thanks!

  166. Candace says:

I could really benefit from this 😉 we are always looking for encouragement and help on how to raise up Godly children in our home.

  167. Brandee says:

Love your devotion today. This is something I learned many years ago as well when my son was small. He used to awaken at 4:30 every morning. At first it was hard, but God used that routine to get me in the routine of getting up early to spend time with Him after my son began sleeping later. Too busy not to pray, love it! That is so true.

  168. SaraSingley says:

Wonderful words of wisdom! My daughter-in-law would be the recipient of this book of encouragement. She is a precious young lady who is Mom to three and Stepmom to one. She does a beautiful job, but gets overwhelmed sometimes.
I would love to give not only her, but every young mom the ability to begin each day alone with our Father God.

  169. I’ am a mother to two wonderful little girls ages 3 and 4 and 18 weeks pregnant with our son. Not only am I a mom but I also work full time at home. I work and take care of my little beauties which can make for long and stressful day. I think that not only could I majorly benefit from this book but so can my children. I strive to live my days by God however, it can be so challenging trying to juggle work and caring for my children in the way that they deserve. I know that I do not make enough time for Prayer everyday and I absolutely LOVE todays post… “Im too busy not to pray”, it is SOOOO true! I think that if I made more time to pray that I would feel less stressed and more at peace with how my day is going. I think Set Apart Motherhood could help me in the areas in which I am struggling the most. Have a bless Tuesday! <3

  170. motherhood (parenting) has always been a struggle for me. So I might keep it for myself but I also have a dear friend who is due to have her 1st child in a couple weeks and she came to mind.

  171. Elizabeth Whittington says:

I have not yet been blessed by the gift of motherhood, but I have a dear friend with four children. Under perfectly normal circumstances that could be a challenge, but my friend is facing some extremely trying times now. I have been so impressed by the strength she gets from her faith and how she continues to be a friend and support others. If I were to win the book, then I would happily pass it along to her.

  172. Krystal Gonzales says:

Reading this lets me know that there are other people in life that go through the same struggling situations. I have began my journey and I wake up early before my children do to spend my time with God, but there are a few people in my life that seem to not understand that prayer makes you closer to Him and regardless of how busy you are we have to remember He has never been to busy to wake us up. Your busy because of Him, He gave you that job or those children, we have to find time for Him like He has found time for us. This book would go to a friend of mine that needs a little bit more belief and faith in her life. Single mother of 3 and her job keep her excuses going. This would show her she is not the only one. Thank you for offering a copy of your book and God Bless

  173. Christina says:

I would love this book! Children have always been my heart, but now that I’m Momma to 5 littles, I often find myself asking, “Seriously, God? You thought I was right for this??” 😉

  174. Love this!

  175. I would love to give this to a friend who has two small children!

  176. I’d love this book! I’m doing lots of late night reading and nursing these days with my third baby, and love to read encouraging words through bleary eyes.

  177. Maureen says:

I needed this post today! Thank you for reminding me of something I know, but forget in my busyness with 4 kids home for the summer!!

  178. I would love to have a free copy of the Set Apart Motherhood. I want to raise my child to know Christ and to see Him in me. Also, to help other mothers know Christ and show that to their children.

  179. Mandy B. says:

Thank you for this great reminder of just how important prayer is. I know it plays an important part in my day-to-day life and when I neglect prayer, it can throw everything off course. This book would be a great resource for not just myself but several of my friends.

  180. Really enjoyed the devotion and it seemed to really hit home for my life with four boys!!! Thanks for sharing!

  181. This def sounds like something I need!

  182. Stephanie B. says:

I would love love this book!!

  183. Miranda says:

As a single Mom of four, it is overwhelming to adjust to kids varying between ages 3 and 15. This book is an answer to prayer. I would love to study it and pass it on to my other friends who are also trying to find the balance of life.

  184. I am preparing to become a mother of a freshman in high school and all the excitement and challenges that it brings. I need all the encouragement that I can get.

  185. I would love a copy of this book so I cannot only be equipped to have a more intentional prayer time, but also share with others how to do this and the importance of having daily quiet time in their lives. Thanks for the reminder that we are all too busy not to have quality prayer time each day

  186. I wish someone had told me to pray without ceasing earlier in my life, especially those days when I lttle ones. My daughter in law and her peers are very busy with babies, husbands, working, etc. doing it all! They would benefit greatly from this devotional!

  187. I have read your other books when I was younger and they were such an encouragement. Your new one is coming out at the perfect time as I am in the middle of my first pregnancy!

  188. Laurinda says:

I would love this book—I need to spend more time praying each day and learn to make it a top priority.

  189. Stephanie says:

    This is Something I need

  190. As a new mom, I’m already struggling with this. It’d be great to win the book!

  191. Elaine Segstro says:

My children are grown and I still worry about them – their walk with God, their choice of a spouse, their careers, their decisions. I find it difficult to hand it over to God. I do the quick prayers of “HELP”, but need to spend devoted time in prayer. Thank you for your post and sharing your book.

  192. I’d love a copy of the book for encouragement! I enjoy your blogs very much!

  193. My daughter in law is due in September with her first baby and I would love to give this to her as a gift!

  194. I have 4 children ages 4 and under. The author has been in my shoes, so I feel like I connect with her. The book would be a blessing.

  195. Vondell says:

I would love to have this book for my daughter as she is getting married soon, and will have time to read before she has children.i need that time with our Lord everyday.

  196. I have been trying to pray more and more lately especially where my husband is concerned. Not prayers of, “Oh God, change him”, but prayers FOR him! I’ve noticed a great change in my heart and was recently challenged to pray this same way for my sons. It is not an easy task to pray for a 15 year old who knows everything and intentionally tries his parents’ patience, but I am reminded that my mother never gave up on me and if I am not praying for him, who is? He will be grown and out of the house before too much longer – That’s too little time not to pray!
And I would LOVE for my sister to have a copy of this book! She’s been a Leslie Ludy fan since high school 🙂

  197. I am a stay at home mom to 3 1/2 year old twins, trying to let God prepare my heart to be a Bible study leader in the fall. I need this book to help me realize how to be more Mary and less Martha!!!

  198. Michelle says:

Thank you so much for this post and giveaway. Lately the Lord has been showing me just this – that I still put myself first and worry instead of putting Him first and following. I am so frustrated and discouraged by my current failures that I see all my old sinful thoughts and behaviors reappearing. So ugly. Thank you God for grace and forgiveness!!

I would definitely read this book and study it! I would probably pass it on or recommend it to friends and my niece who is struggling as a newly-single mother.

  199. Charlene says:

I have been battling with this issue for the past year or so. I am a mother, wife, employee, devoted church member, sister, daughter, niece, cousin, shoulder to lean on, and so much more. I am always being pulled, but seems like I have no one to pull on, but the Lord. By the time I need to pull on him and have a conversation with him, I am too tired. My day is never ending. As I type this, I am starting to tear up. I just needed to type a comment to vent, because I haven’t done so in a long time. God bless.

  200. I love receiving these inspirational emails, it really has drawn me nearer to God in my busy life. Prayer is so powerful we will never know the power fully until we are with Jesus in heaven. Thank you for your ministry and it certainly is true that we need to make time for God, especially in our busyness of life. Praise the Lord!

  201. Shannon Stephens says:

A young lady we have known and loved for 14 years is pregnant, and I would give it to her. Mine is now 19, but I think I would still enjoy borrowing it when this new mother-to-be was done with it.

  202. I would LOVE a copy of this book! As a mom to five littles, any biblical help I can get would be wonderful! Looks like a terrific read.

  203. Heather says:

I struggle with “getting things done” and just enjoying then beauty in the moment.

  204. I understand without Him I can do nothing and I am nothing. He is the one who changes me, changes the situations around me. Sometimes life pulls and tugs at you in ways that only He can get us through.
Lord, help me depend on you every hour of every day. Help me cry out to you before the hustle and bustle of the day to be able to lean on you when life takes me on. The Husband, the kids, and myself all depend on you to hold us in the midst of all that happens in our lives.

  205. Chara McLaughen says:

Always looking to find my significance in Him, I sometimes forget that starts with my quiet, alone time with Him! I want to be set-apart and maybe starting with this book could out me on that path as a child of God, wife, mom, and friend.

  206. I needed this today !! Thank you for reminding me to keep my gaze upon HIM the maker of all things, including time! Thank you !!

  207. This sounds like a wonderful book!

  208. Shalena says:

I would love to read this book! As a mom of 3 ages 6-10, I may not be as busy now as when they were smaller but I do notice when I do have the time to pray that I let the time just slip away. Something to remind me to just stop and say “Jesus, here I am” would be a great blessing on my life. Bless you!

  209. Valeri Kitchen says:

I immediately connected with the topic today in my life, and know many others who do as well. I am part of the leadership of our local MOPS ministry, and would love to have this book to share with the 30+ moms who could relate as well. We have a MOPS library where books are passed around and shared, and this would be a great addition resource for all of us moms.

  210. Capricia says:

With where I’m at in this season of my life and the busyness of raising 2 and 1 soon to be teenager, this book would be a great resource in learning more about how to prioritize time with the Father.

  211. I am purposefully not reading other comments at this time so as to focus on my own response. I find that when I, in my current state of spiritual warfare fighting against evil forces seeking to devour and destroy my family, attempt to work out of the flesh against Satan…that I’m a stressed, angry mess…with no strength or power behind my actions. When I’m prayerful…and submissive to his powers and guidance…I “rest” IN HIM…I “go forth” IN HIM…my actions are ruled by the fact that is HE who speaks through me….and keeps me from messing things up…. HE shows love through me…when I would not be able to. So…yesterday still burning in my mind as a day where I stumbled through without prayer – except for the mumbled as seeking to get through the day type of prayer… – brings me to my knees this morning. Thank you for this devotional and oppty for response. I am not focusing on editing or grammar…please overlook if you happen to be reading this…

  212. I woke from a terrible dream thinking I need to pray. Praying has been something I’ve neglected. I want to be more prayerful. I’m not sure why but I decided to check proverbs 31 devos for the first time this morning and this was the one for the day. Thank you. I’d love to read the book. I’m a sahm to a 2 and 4 year old boys.

  213. This book would be a wonderful asset to the day to day bustle of being a full time mother of 3 and a full time working mom. You many times forget to slow down and cherish your surroundings. After I would read this boook and absorb the encouragement, I would share with my fellow friends who are mothers and it could become a revolving book filled with love and encouragement.

  214. Tracey A. says:

I love these inspirational reminders and need them every day. It IS so easy to get caught up in your day, without God in your plans. This would be a helpful reminder. Enjoyed this greatly. Will be dropping to my knees after this. Thank you, Leslie, for the beautiful inspiring message.

  215. Danielle says:

I need this book, as it is very difficult to find balance between a full-time job and taking care of 4 boys, with three of them 4 years and younger. Any encouragement helps 🙂

  216. This seems to keep coming up in my Bible studies so I must need to hear it! Jesus before tasks. I know its right. Praying God keeps reminding me. I’d love to read this book!

  217. I would love to win a copy of this book as an early preparation for when my husband and I have kiddos of our own! 🙂

  218. Erica Johns says:

I would really benefit from receiving a copy of this book. I have a 2 and a half year old and 12 week old who both demand my attention. My son has just realized that his sister is here to stay and has been acting out. Without prayer I cannot get through the long days of discipline, crying, diaper changes, and nursing. Lately I have been questioning if my prayers are enough. After reading today’s devotional I realize that I need to pray more that in the moments when I need him most. Thank you for today’s encouragement. I hope that I am fortunate enough to receive a copy of what seems to be a great book.

  219. Nancy Ball says:

Wow this sounds like something I could really use. I’m a stay at home homeschooling mom of 5. Our youngest had major medical problems so we pretty much lived in survial mode and she past away a year and a half ago only to find 5 months after she passed we were pregnant again. So survival mode continued due to bedrest on and off through rse pregnancy and now our newest is 6 mth old so I still feel like we are in survival mode trying to keep up with homeschool house husband baby laundry I know you all know what I’m talking about an then rse grief comes in and I could really use a book to help me focus on what is most important.

  220. Yvette Karantounis says:

Thank you God for all you do in our life’s every day. I am so grateful that I was lead to this website where the devotion and verses are exactly what I need every day. Thank you God! This book sounds amazing and just what I need right now in my life! My God bless you all today!

  221. Kathy Bernard says:

I would love a copy of this book to help me and to use at a mom’s Bible Study at church.

  222. A powerful and so true devition! It’s a must TO BE A PERSON in PRAYER for all of us. But I do think our moms of this time is a must!!! I would to win a copy I would give it as a gift to my daughter braise my grandbabies would profit from it—AMEN!
    THANK YOU SO MUCH.

  223. Christy says:

I have 3 children, ages 13, 7 and 2, all going thru various difficult stages and changes in their lives, a husband who suffers from a medical condition, but thankfully can still work, and I own a small Virtual Assistance business from home. It can really be overwhelming with all of this going on and many times I find myself putting prayer “off” due to all the responsibilities. As a result, I have experienced more frustration, more anger, more negativity because I am not focused on Jesus and spending time in prayer with Him. I need this book to help cope with the challenges of life and to re-instate my prayer life as a priority as it was when I was a youth.

  224. Stephanie MacGillivray says:

I would LOVE to have this book!! There have been nights when I lay awake thinking that I could have handled earlier situations differently regarding my children. My prayer life consists of hurried prayers so I can get started with the day’s activities. I feel like this book would be very motivational for me.

  225. If I were to win this book, I would give it to my mom. She is a true prayer warrior and a real inspiration to me. She is always seeking prayer and guidance for the many issues that come up in this sinful world.

  226. So true. I also had three children under four and can relate. Prayer is essential to maintaining your peace and also God’s direction.

  227. My daughter is expecting her first child and I would LOVE to give her this book to help prepare her for the busy, yet wonderfully rewarding, new role as a mom. Her husband is deployed so she will be a single mom for the first few months and she will really need to learn these principles and put them into practice as she juggles all of this while returning to her military career too.

  228. Stephanie Corley says:

I’m a working Mama of a 1 year old. I would love to have a copy of this book!

  229. Shemika says:

We get caught up with the daily grind of life and forget God is the one who will give us the strength to get through he the daily grind. Have mercy on us. Thanks for the reminder “I’m too busy NOT to pray!”.

  230. I would love to have the opportunity to win the book, set apart motherhood. I’ve worked in a lot of difficult jobs but feel that the hardest job has been, motherhood. It’s such a huge responsibility to raise Christian girls that love Jesus in a world that is so secular! I could use all the help I can get

  231. Cathy H. says:

This message truly was for me. I am a teacher on summer break and havent been makinh my prayer time a priority. I have not been able to complete my to do list. I realized this morning that my time with Jesus was missing and nothing was going to be right until i put Him first. I thank God for always confiming His will one way or the other. Thank you for an on-time message.

  232. I loved today’s devotional! I can relate as I used to feel I was “too busy” to spend time with the Lord. As a result, I was not walking in a manner worthy of my calling. Since January I have been going through an illness that the Lord has used to get me back into daily prayer and Bible study. Although I don’t want to be sick, it has been the most life-transforming experience that I wouldn’t trade for anything. Putting Him first has changed every area of my life. He has caused me to grow in the wisdom & knowledge of Him and has carried me through each day, just like He promises!

I’d love to win a copy of this book. Although I am not yet a mother, this would be good preparation until the Lord’s timing of deciding to give us children!

  233. Judith M Mosley says:

My children are grown and on their own, but I know a young mother that can benefit from reading this book. After reading chapter one, I an convinced that the godly wisdom Leslie Ludy has written down will be encouragement and a blessing.

  234. Katherine says:

I have been looking for something just like this to help encourage myself to keep going! This book would be an answer to prayer.

  235. Oh how I would love to win a copy of this book! I am a homeschooling mother of five littles. I love my job of being a stay-at-home mom to my precious babies, but it is definitely a challenge to get away and have some quiet time with God.

  236. Fran Montoya says:

I would like this book for my daughter who is a new mom. She is doing such a good job but I know everyone needs encouragement, and this book really seems like it would help.

  237. Colleen says:

Would love to check out this book! What perfect timing on today’s devotion as I’m currently reading through “A Praying Life” by Paul Miller. It seems God is emphasizing prayer to me from all angles!

  238. Hi I’m a single mum of 5, husband to pursue other women & his own interests! Have teenages- 6 yr old & constantly battling & trying to juggle everything! I would like to be considered for Leslie’s book, as I feel I’m constantly in the go & ever have time. Thank you

  239. Thanks for the Encouraging words. I will remember your quote of Too Busy “NOT” to pray. The book mentioned I would give it to my daughter (who I’m asking for prayer that she stops following the ways of this world and turn her life completely to the LORD) She has a daughter and should would benefit in Reading God’s truth being a Mother.

  240. Amber donnelly says:

    I would love this book!

  241. Elizabeth Duffield says:

After raising my own 2 boys, I am currently raising my ‘second family’; 2 nieces and 1 nephew. Because of all that they have been exposed to by their own parents and their special needs (the youngest niece has Reactive Attachment Disorder and the older niece is mentally impaired), it has been beyond frustrating and it has gradually taken its toll on my own relationship with Christ. My faith has been shaken and that, in turn, is having an impact on how I deal with my family. It seems to be a cycle that I can’t break. I am trying; which is how I came across your article this morning. I need to post the words ‘too busy NOT to pray’ front and center on my refrigerator as a reminder of where my priorities need to be. God Bless.

  242. Margaret says:

Great devotion today! Thanks for the encouraging words! Would love to have a copy of the book. Thanks!

  243. Stephanie Chamberlain says:

I vote for Natalia Cortez to win this book. I can so relate to her post:
    Natalia Cortez
    July 8, 2014
Tonight I laid in bed, crying, feeling defeated and like the world’s worst mother. The truth is I’ve put God aside for so long that I’d become so lost. In my despair, realizing this, I cried out to Him tonight…”
Just this morning I was crying after getting my 3 littles off to camp…for rushing them around in a frenzy, frustrated at their childish behavior (they are young children!), frustrated with myself for not being better at this most important role as mother, and so sad over squandering this brief time I have to mother my young children unto the Lord. I LOVE this mornings devotion. If love to learn more. I pray to learn better how to abide in Him and He in me.

  244. I am convicted of the importance of being a Godly stay at home Mum to my beautiful children, yet I struggle with thebalance between fulfilling my daily work tasks & being diligent & faithful as well as spending quality one on one time nurturing& enjoying my precious little ones. Am so driven & a lot like Martha at times. Would benefit from reading this book! Would also delight to share treasures gleaned from the book with others or pass the book on.

  245. I would give a copy of this book to my daughter, who is a new mommy. Life as a new mommy always seems so overwhelming, and like there is never enough time in the day, so I would share this with her as a reminder to make time in each day for God.

  246. Stacie Jablonski says:

I have found this devotional particularly important to me today. An answer to my prayers

  247. Melissa Asutin says:

    Sounds like a great book!

  248. Tiffany Heeg says:

I would love this book- to learn to parent with God’s strength and not just my own strength.

  249. Tracie Lee says:

I am a mother of 3 .I have two children with type 1 diabetes. My oldest daughter is married and expecting there first child. They live in Oklahoma,he is in flight training with the Air Force. My middle daughter is married, she has been diagnosed with diabetes since age 5.She lives in Savannah,GA.Her husband is in the Army.My son is 14,David.He was just recently diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. He also has some other issues from birth, right sided hemoplaysia, stroke at birth on his right side.
They all 3 love the Lord, but at times our life can get stressed out.I know the best gift to give is prayer for them.
But I would certainly love a copy of your book and I would love to pass it down to my oldest daughter and my sister in law .
Thanks for the chance to comment.
    Tracie

  250. DeLana Lucas says:

I am a teacher and a single mother of 3chidlren— 2 boys, ages 8 and 3, and a girl, age 5. I am stressed to the max while I am reaching out to other parents and my church on guidance on how to raise my children right —-honorable manners, social characteristics, life lessons, understanding Jesus and the Bible teachings, and how to pray and what prayer means. It is hard and I need help! It takes a village to raise a child and I reach out for leadership, guidance, others ….to aide in paving this path of parenthood.

  251. i would love a copy of this book!

  252. Joanna M says:

I would love a copy of this! I’m not yet a mother but my husband and I are thinking about having kids soon, so this book would really help me learn how to be the mother God has called me to be!

  253. I am a mom of four who struggles with separating motherhood and allowing the quiet time to pray I pray little prayers all day just need to learn how-to take time out from being a mom and Spend time with GOD!

  254. Colleen McCormick says:

The world shouts while Jesus gently whispers. Lord, teach me to be ever attentive to Your still small voice.

  255. I just had a baby 3 weeks ago( on fathes day) and i have a 3 year old who is finding it hard to accept to have a brother. I would really like to read this book to get some encouragement to raise two boys.

  256. I WOULD GIVE THIS BOOK TO MY DAUGHTER WHO IS THE MOTHER OF A ONE YEAR OLD.

  257. I’m not a mother yet, but I am heading into marriage in the next few months. I would love this book so I could be prepared ahead of time for little ones!

  258. Penny orr says:

My daughter-in-law accepted Jesus as her Savior recently. She is a great mother, working hard, going to school full time and taking care if her household. I believe this book would encourage her!

  259. I think my biggest struggle is once I tell myself. That I will get this one thing done first. Then I will come back to spending time with God. My emotions take over and I start to tell myself and believe. That God is ashamed at me and I should be guilty of the way I show up for him. So I stop praying at all. Yet I know he’s covers all of us with his loving grace. I also get backed up because my prayer doesn’t sound good or I don’t have the right words to say when praying. So there for he won’t and doesn’t listen to me. I need help in those two areas. I’d love to find a women’s prayer and bible study group to join.

  260. I loved today’s devotional and would love to read more inspiration in the book. I agree that the more I walk in prayer the better life goes, but it is hard with so many demands on our time. I am getting better at modeling to my son (age 4) set-apart prayer time and it’s working – occasionally he suggests taking some time for prayer! Those are great days. 🙂

  261. I feel stressed out all the time with a full time job and a 7 year old boy and 5 year old boy. They test my patience sometimes and at the end of the day I feel guilty for not taking the time to play catch or play tic tac toe. I desparately want to rid myself of the constant feeling to wash dishes, wash clothes, fold laundry, vacuum the floor…etc. I try to remind myself that when they grow up…they will not remember how clean the house was/is…they will remember whether mommy took the time to play with them.

  262. Lori Wright says:

I have been struggling with so many demands and so desire to be set apart for God to be used by Him for the purpose He has created me for. I would love to benefit from the insights in the book and from being able to share what I have learned from it to others and to pass it on to them.

  263. Lyndall says:

We’ve just recently learned that our daughter is pregnant. The book would be for her. I want to arm her with as much spiritual strength as I can as she and her husband step in to parenthood.

  264. These are the lyrics to the song of my life. I often lay at night wasted from the days duties, and drained from malnutrition in the spirit. I have cried for a hand a word some help and I believe this is it. It is not only for myself but for the daughters that I am guiding as well. Maybe with the help of this book I will have the answer to OUR questions.

  265. Fay luihn says:

This is true no matter what stage of life we are at.

  266. Heather says:

I would love a copy of this book! I am guilty of not spending enough time in prayer, and on the rare days that I do, I feel like a better, more patient mom. This devotion was very much what I needed to read this morning!

  267. natasha says:

This devotional speaks to my heart so much. I too have the thinking that i don’t have time to pray. Working full time, married with 3 boys is not easy. I am always tired and feeling at my wits end. I want to be my best for God but I realize that I can’t be my best for God without God. He has to be number one and everything else falls after. I love that statement “I’m too busy NOT to pray”. Apart from Him i can do nothing. If He brings you to it, He will see you through it! Thank you for sharing your heart.

  268. I would love this book…I have 4 kids, ages 4 and under!

  269. Marcela says:

I have let go of praying and see the bad fruit of it. Thank you for this article.

  270. I would LOVE to read this book and then pass it on to other mothers!! <3

  271. Melanie says:

I’m being spoken to by God LOUD.AND.CLEAR. 1) This week, our adult discussion hour at church–we are doing Proverbs, the lesson dealt with planning to plan– Putting out fires kept coming up. We tend to spend our time on non-important/urgent issues when we want to and should live in important/non-urgent dealings. 2)My personal bible study is being spent in Nehemiah which is all about preparation: of the mind, body and plan. 3)Someone just gave me a copy of a short read called “Tyranny of the Urgent” (great read!). And now P31 does this!!! I hear you, Lord. Quit shouting (*wink*smile*)

I’ve long held that “stealing away” is not the way to do it either. Scripture tells us we are to “go into a closet, close the door and pray” Matt 6:6 and I think what that actually means is setting aside planned, intentional time every day to spend with God. This is part of giving God our first-fruits, and I’d argue that nothing is more valuable than our time, so setting aside a chunk of that daily would honor Him…and it’s so good for us too!

  272. Kayla Turner says:

I really enjoyed this devotional for today! Wow, it really hit home with me. This is a constant battle for me mentally and emotionally. I know in my heart that I want to serve The Lord and do His works, and praying daily is part of that spiritual discipline. However I find myself making excuse after excuse for not taking daily time to pray and read God’s word-I’m too busy is the biggest excuse. I am a teacher who married a teacher who is a Jr high Basketball coach & High School Basketball coach. We have two boys-2 & 4 years old with no family who lives near us. So many times we have late nights or no nights at home and I seem to say “Well God I’m trying, but this and that has kept me away from you today.” This devotional really opened up my eyes to see that “I am too busy NOT to pray.” I need to pray for strength and patience so I can be who God has called me to be!

  273. My friend is struggling being a new mother. I would love to pass this encouraging book on to her. She is overwhelmed and finding a way to spend time set apart with the Lord would be a true blessing to her!

  274. about 5 years ago i found myself praying while i was driving to work, i am ashamed to admit that i considered that my prayer time….. Now , when i wake up, i roll out of bed onto my knees and pray, and give God my first minutes of my day – that simple little act, was a game changer… 🙂

  275. Thank you for the reminder for those like me who are “Martha” types!

  276. My days are so much better when I start my day with prayer, yet many times satan pulls me away and I put my focus on the daily tasks before me. I would like a copy of your book, so that I can learn how to prioritize my time better, and put my focus on Christ first. I am overwhelmed as a mother and feel depleted. I want so much for the Holy Spirit to fuel me with his presence, yet I don’t know where to begin. I sit at the table with my Bible and notebook and write down scripture passages, but I want a deeper understanding and relationship with my Heavenly Father. Thank you.

  277. Anne Sanderlin says:

It is past time for a book like this. I have always prayed in the morning before the day has started. I’m more a morning person. I wish this book had been out 30 years ago when my daughter was born. My mother came and stayed with me. But with the first it is always overwhelming. I find it is easier to do it first thing before you really start your day. I also keep a prayer journal with all of my comments and thoughts about lessons and events. Your book should also be featured in the aisle with all the Baby’s first year. Just my thoughts.

    Anne Sanderlin
    Hartsville, SC

  278. Amber M. says:

I too am another busy mom. I really think we can all use this reminder! I have been blessed to be able to find way to work God into “my busy schedule” I would really love to learn more about living FOR God and letting him direct my path.

  279. Victoria says:

Would love to read and share with our church library.

  280. Megan Featherston says:

Hi! I would love to win a copy of the book. I’m a single working mom of 2 kids and want to live in a such way that God gets ALL the glory and my kids look up with admiration and thankfulness 🙂

  281. Daisy Ricks says:

Tbis open my eyes and heart thjs morning,su h inspiring words

  282. christina B says:

This was right on time for me…thank you for the encouragement

  283. What a timely reminder. The summer craziness seems to have set in. Our household routine is in flux and my quiet time went out the window on the last day of school and I’ve noticed the difference. And so had everyone
    else:( Thank you for this.

  284. Christy says:

This is a constant concern among many of my friends. I would love to able to share this book witn my group of friends.

  285. Kristi Carlson says:

Just the devotional I needed this morning! I would love to have the book Set Apart Motherhood. I am constantly bogged down with working fulltime, taking care of my baby and taking care of my home. I feel the Lords prompting to spend more time with Him but too often allow other things to take priority. I know for my sweet baby girl the best thing for Mommy to do is to spend time with The Lord and I will be a more joyful focused mommy showing and teaching her the Love of Christ

  286. Rebecca says:

I needed this reminder….I’m too busy NOT to pray!! Love it!

  287. I just made a commitment to God a few days ago to spend time with him every morning. The past 3 days have been amazing. It is changing who I am and how I see life. I have 2 children 20 months apart, now 4 and 6 years old. I found myself constantly making excuses why I was too busy to pray. I convinced myself it was even impossible. Nothing but a lie from the enemy. It is far from impossible. God will reward our diligence and our desire to spend time with him. All things are possible with Him. Thank you for this encouraging word today. If a mother of 6 and a mother of 4 can make time, I know I can too:)

  288. Sounds like a great book for a new mom…(my daughter)

  289. Brittany says:

As a mother of a very active two year old, I would love to have a copy of Set Apart Motherhood to read and share. Motherhood can be very challenging as well as very rewarding. It is always my prayer that God would mold me and make me into the mother He has called me to be. I love reading books that give insight and support in living the life that God has called me to live. Thus, I know this book would be filled with many blessings and lessons for me. I can also add it to my collection of devotional books that I can share with others as God places people in my life to share with.

  290. Dana A. says:

I would love to win a copy of this book to encourage me to be a set apart mom. I really need to experience what God’s will is for my motherhood. Most of my days are filled with task after task and I become discouraged that I’m not fulfilling my calling. I am a homeschooling, part time working mom of 3 and have lost myself somewhere in the mundane.

  291. Heather Lapierre says:

Being the mother of a high schooler, middle schooler, elementary schooler, & needing to find a job that fits around their schedule … I really am too busy not to pray. I would love to read something encouraging like this book. Blessings.

  292. Samantha Compton says:

I have a 5 year old, we go through the motions of the day and go to church as a family but I feel theres more I can do and I think this book will help me see the bigger picture of what I can do for my family, for Him.

  293. I am a mother of a 3 and 8 year old. I’d like to better understand my purpose as a mother. Maybe this book will help!

  294. Kimberly says:

My husband and I are expecting our first child in two months, and I would really love to have this book to help me prepare.

  295. Laura W says:

Many days my prayers seem to be in the car on my way to work, trying to get everything done for everyone before I leave. I loved today’s message that I am too busy NOT to pray, will be putting the prayers before My day starts now.

  296. Would love this!

  297. I wish I had a book like this to help when I was a young mom. I didn’t have a believing mom to guide me through with some godly wisdom and did the best I could. I think every encouragement and wisdom we can get for parenting is a major blessing. Hoping to share with my daughter while she raises her two young boys.

  298. I could so use this.

  299. I truly needed this today. Thank you for sharing.

  300. I could really use the encouragement of this book, thank you.

  301. I would love this book for my daughter-in-love. She is a lovely person and a wonderful Mom but she gets so antsy at times about things that really do not matter and I think if she were to read this instead of hearing what she at times thinks is someone being a busy body would really help her.

  302. Janet Lawrence says:

Prayer changes lives. It changes my heart. It heals, it restores and it is my personal phone call to God. Have you talked to Him today? He longs to hear from His kids.

  303. I would love to win a copy of this book simply because I feel it is intended to help mothers positively. I intend to apply the inspired Godly principles in the lives of my two children ages eleven and seven. Hence, becoming an even better mum. Thank you for affording me the opportunity to “win” such an amazing well written book.

  304. As a single mother I find myself making the excuse that I am too busy to stop and pray, this has been an encouragement to read and helped me to see where I need to reprioritise and make the time to spend in prayer with Him, thank you

  305. Linda h says:

Yes please!!! Saying yes to God first is never a regrettable yes.

  306. Crystal Balzer says:

This devotion was just what I needed today. I struggle with this constantly! I would love to win a copy of the book for myself.

  307. Ardis Rivera says:

I work with churches in poor areas of Mexico and am in need of resources to help me encourage these people to always take time alone with God.

  308. Jen Barczak says:

I would give this book to my sister-in-law who is both a stay-at-home mom and a working mom (out of her home) who took in a preemie foster child three weeks after her second son was born. She has three little ones at home and between daily life and the medical issues of her foster daughter, she’s worn out. I think she could use some encouragement and practical tips on how to get strength & energy from the one source that never ends!

  309. Jennifer says:

This book sounds just like what I need. Being a mom to me has made it so difficult to find the time to pray even though I know now is when I need it the most. I have really been struggling with this issue and today’s devotion was just what I needed! Would love this book!

  310. I would love this book to help me learn to put God first in all
    I do as a mother.

  311. I am preparing for an adoption of siblings and I would love to have this book to help me keep Christ first as a mother.

  312. Rosa Debroy says:

This was a great message and a vey need one. I so often feel that knudge from God calling me to pray, to spend te with him… But there’s always something that needs to be done. Sometimes it gets overwhealming, specially with a pre-teen daughter. This book sounds like a good guide towards getting to be the mom God wants me to be

  313. Sister in Christ says:

Hi! Would love a copy! I am a city girl. My husband and I work full time jobs and we both commute an hour to 90 mins back and forth; and then I go home to my other duties. I love being a mother and wife, but often times I feel hurried and exhausted. Sometimes when I try to read the bible I fall asleep, so I pray. And sometimes I fall asleep before I can sit up and pray. So I try to read on the train and during the day. Would love a copy of that book! Thank you for the chance to win it!

  314. Carolyn T says:

Thank you for these strong encouraging and true words about taking time with God in prayer. My sons are now in their 40’s but I began taking what I called my “quiet time with God” early when they were little and have been doing so ever since. While they were little and before I retired I (with the Help of the Holy Spirit) I made it a point to get up earlier so that I could spend valuable time with God in prayer and in reading scripture. It gave me a wonderful start to my day and continues to do so. While I don’t necessarily get up earlier now since retiring, I do make it a point to start my day with scripture and prayer. But I have learned that God will give us the time to get alone with Him regardless of our “schedules” if we really want to have that time. We serve an AWESOME GOD!!!

  315. Danielle hannum says:

Raising 4 young children 4 tears apart; I too struggle to truly make God a priority in my prayer life. Being at home I relate to the quick “help me not to yell” prayers. This book would be such an encouragement for me. I long to be that mother who does her job joyfully and with purpose knowing I am fulfilling my role that God picked me for, but most days I am frustrated, worn out and needing that inner strength that can only come from God. I love that verse on the vine and the branches… God has shown this to me over and over again. Apart from him I am nothing. Dear Lord, help this be at the forefront of my mind daily as I step out of bed to tackle the day!!

  316. Tammy English says:

I believe that as a mother we should always be ready to discover ways to help our children and other kids that you are in contact with learn to live a true Christian life. The life we live now seems to be such a rushed life with something going all the time. Then we realize oh I have not prayed today and we are exhausted and we fall asleep on God. We need to teach our kids that you have to give God his time even in the rush of life. I need more encouragement with that myself. So I would love to have this book to show me how someone else views this matter and to help my children.

  317. Teresa Blake says:

While I was able to apply today’s devotional to my life as a single, middle-aged female with no children of my own, I could not help thinking of my niece and nephew who are raising six children (ages 1 – 9) and how difficult it must be for them to keep prayer time a priority in their family. God has blessed my nephew with a career that allows my niece to pursue her career choice of being a stay at home mother. They are doing a tremendous job, but as you can imagine, things can get a little crazy around their house and I believe your book will help them keep things in perspective by giving them another tool in keeping God at the center of their
    family.

  318. Becky Adams says:

My sister has inspired me to work this way also. She has 8 children, ranging from 24 – 7. I would love to share this book with her. I have 5 children, and know that the days that I am feeling the most frazzled are the days that I am the farthest from the Lord. I love these daily prayers that remind me where my priorities are.

  319. Melissa C. says:

My name is Melissa and I am the mother of two.. 14 and 10 and I desperately need this book! In the last couple of years… It seemed as though my life took a 360 degree turn. Between my teenager.. My stressful job and my husband losing his job… U would think I would be on my knees before God all the time but because of the strain and struggles…. I too have been using those two words as means for prayer time…. HELP LORD!!!!! I need something to read that will help me organize the juggles of life and help find the exact time for prayer!! I NEED THIS BOOK! Thanks in advance!!

  320. Hello,
I am a teenage mom, blessed to have my baby when I was fifteen. In 2009 I migrated to US from the Philippines where I was born and raised. I was never a reader but I started to like reading through Proverbs 31. When I started working, I see to it that I will start my day reading proverbs 31 blogs. I couldn’t find time to read the bible and honestly, sometimes, when I try reading it, I couldn’t understand it well. So I decided to look for books that is easily understood. As a single mom, a daughter, a student, a youth leader and a worker, I strongly believe that the book “Set-Apart Motherhood” will help me achieve my greatest goal, that is to be the mom my baby will look up to despite the circumstances of having her very early. I want to be the mom that she is going to be proud of and be inspired with. I want to be able to balance my time serving God and my family but at the same time being the best at every role God has called me. I will really appreciate it if I get a copy of the book.

    Thank you. God Bless.

  321. Thank you Leslie for sharing your story in today’s devotion, I found myself feeling convicted and know I desperately need to be spending more time with God, yet I feel clueless as to where to start, I don’t know how to quiet my busy mind from distractions, I don’t know how to genuinely connect with God as opposed to just saying a routine prayer that just feels like an obligation or another thing on my to-do list. I recently married this past April and have two stepsons, age 5 and 6, who are living in a very broken environment when not with us, and find myself struggling in trying to be the godly step-mom I want to be for them, I can only get there if I learn how to depend on God but I often don’t know what that looks like. This book sounds very helpful, I would be honored to win a copy but know there’s so many more deserving women out there and am excited for anyone who will be blessed with this book, thank you for letting God use your story to bless others!

  322. Jeanie Martin says:

I need to get in the daily habit of prioritizing time for prayer.

  323. Jenna Pace says:

I really think this book would be a help to me as I am recently divorced and trying to raise two children under the age of 4 on my own.

  324. Heidi C says:

After reading today’s devotion, it encouraged me to spend more time in prayer. I am recently engaged and my almost sister-in-law is pregnant. She and I spent this past weekend together and she could use this book. As the days approach for her delivery she is trying to prepare her home, her marriage, and her heart for this new gift from God. She has found herself discouraged, tired, and stressed about what is to come in the future after their baby girl arrives. This short devotion was an encouragement in itself, I bet the book is and will be perfect for an expecting mother. Thank you for sharing your heart and reaching the population of women (especially moms).

  325. I completely agree with Leslie – for me, prayer is often something that I’m “going to get to” throughout the whole day and it isn’t until I’m going to sleep that night that I realize I didn’t spend hardly any time with the Lord other than reading a short chapter in my Bible and a few hurried prayers as I’m rushing around. I want with all my heart to change and make Christ a priority in my life!

  326. Tiphanie says:

I remember reading one of Leslie’s first books in my early 20’s “Authentic Beauty.” It really helped me put things in perspective of how God had truly ordained for my life to be during that time. Now that I’m a wife and mother of two, “Set Apart Motherhood”would be great to have during this season of my life.

  327. I`m Raluca,i`m from Roumania..I would like to have a copy because it`s very hard to get it from here,it costs a lot.I`m a mother of a 4 months little princes!i need it!thanks

  328. Wow, I needed this. Lord, help me get back on track with my prayer life! With 3 little ones, I have let it slide.

  329. Heather P says:

Today’s devotion spoke to me. I often feel overwhelmed by the amount of “stuff” I need to get done. It’s very draining. I recently began praying and doing devotions daily. Doing so has made a difference in the peace I feel but I’m still waiting on the “supernatural strength”. As a mother, I want to fulfill that role as God would want me to but I know I fall short frequently.

  330. Even we moms with older children can get caught in busyness. Even when we no longer work outside of the home. We get caught up in the busyness of doing, of volunteering. We, too, can put of times of prayer until our eyes can’t stay open when we are under the covers in bed. I think that being a part of Moms in Prayer (formerly Moms In Touch) has really made a difference. [You can check us out at http://www.MomsInPrayer.org.] I like structure. And our format (structure) helps me remember my time of prayer isn’t about me, it’s first of all about Him. I love giving the Lord praise from the truth of His own Word. I love giving “hallow” to His name. And, I think, when we remember to praise Him, it helps us give Him and His ways priority over all of our day. I think, too, that prayer that begins with praise is a kind of prayer that draws us into His presence like a moth just can’t help flying towards the light. And we can’t help but spend time with Him no matter how “busy” we are.

  331. Xiomara says:

I need this book for myself. I am a wife and mother of 3 elementary school age children. I have been struggling to make prayer a priority. God has been so faithful unto me. He healedy once barren womb and I strive to live a life that is set apart.

  332. Michelle says:

I need the peace talked about!

  333. I need this!

What a great resource this would be! I am the stay-at-home mom to four kids 7 (almost 8!) and under and would love the encouragement 🙂

  335. I became a mother, a grandmother and now a mother again. I would love to read “Set-Apart Motherhood”.

  336. I would like a copy to give to my mom. I’m a teenager, but I am so encouraged by Proverbs 31 ministries. My mom and I love to use your devotions and quotes as prompts for our private studies… Thank you for all you do!!

  337. Becky Wells says:

I would give this book to my daughter, Jenna. She is a young mom with a toddler, the wife of a youth pastor (who frequently has to spend night and weekend time away from home as part of his job), and she has recently returned to college. She’s very devout and inspires me with her wisdom, but I know she would definitely benefit from reading this book as she juggles her busy life.

  338. Judy L. says:

Thank you for the opportunity to win a copy of your book! I could really use the book and share it with my sisters.

  339. christine says:

I am with everyone else here. Young mommy with little ones and could use all the encouragement I can get. Kind of without a community to share my mommy struggles, so reading encouragement is such a blessing.

  340. Rhonda W says:

I feel so guilty because I struggle with this daily. As a stay-at-home mom, it feels that there is always something else to do and I tend to blame myself when it doesn’t all get done. I would love some encouragement.

  341. I need this!

  342. I have two adult children and two minor children. I’m a single mother and I’m struggling to find joy in my daily challenges! I know that God has a plan for us.I need encouragement!

    Thank you

  345. Dana McClintock says:

I am a new mother of a beautiful 5 month old. I am in a battle of motherhood and life as a mother and learning about my role as a Christian and I would love a new book to help me with my walk with God and to help guide me with my battles.

  346. What a wonderful devotion! Such a timely message filled with GODLY wisdom for such a time as this. I would love a copy of the book for myself and Granddaughter. It is a must read for all the busy Moms out there! God Bless you richly for your devotion to GOD!!

  347. Ree Clark says:

    I would love a copy. Thanks…

  348. Brittany says:

I have 2 boys and could use all the help I can get to raise them right.

  349. Jennifer says:

I would love to have this book!!!

  350. Priscilla Mangulabnan says:

I am a neophyte mother struggling to take care of my family at the best of my abilities. It is the desires of my heart to be the best wife and mother to my husband and babies but at the same to be a mother after GOD’s own heart. I believe the book could inspire me and help me to be a mother set apart for our ever faithful and loving GOD….

  351. April N says:

    Yup. Definitely need this book.

  352. Nicole Carter says:

I would LOVE this new book by Leslie! I’ve read many of her books as well as Eric’s books. I know as a first time mom I would be encouraged by it!

  353. Michelle A says:

This mom of 3 boys thinks this sounds wonderful!

  354. Brittney says:

I could use some guidance on being a mom set apart. Growing up I didnt have the best spiritual influences. Daily I struggle with parenting my 10 year old, and worry will this be my same struggle with my daugther who is15 mos once she is old enough to notice mommy is not perfect. I dont expect to be perfect but I do want to confidently express love to my girls in a way I didnt get growing up. I want them to see God’s love in me, but I dont know how to always translate that. love as gently. I’m hoping this book will help.

  355. This book sounds like it would be so helpful! I have two littles at home with another on the way, and I work full time. It is HARD to find time to put God first. I could use the encouragement!

  356. I find myself often only praying those frantic prayers. I would love a copy to help me learn to be still!

  357. Katelyn says:

I would love to win a copy of this book!

  358. I would love this book. I just came across your website today by a friend and it really spoke to my heart. I am a mother of 2 beautiful little ones and just found out I am expecting our 3rd little bundle of joy. Getting fed as much as I can with the word of God is what I and my baby needs. Thank you!

  359. Marie Hendrich says:

Is this book available on Amazon…..I never win anything…..so maybe I can jus buy it 😉

  360. Ann-Marie Root says:

I love this devotion. It is just what I needed today. I would like to have a copy of “Set Apart for Motherhood” because I love being a mom and want to know how I can do more to teach my children about God in the midst of our busy schedule.

  361. Sharon Smith says:

Thank you for your words of encouragement today. I would love a chance to read this book 🙂

  362. Michelle says:

What mom couldn’t benefit from a book that reminds us to be in His book and in prayer?

  363. Melissa says:

A single mother of two every growing girls, working full time, and going to college part time in the chaos of living with elderly parents the past 3 years. My grandpa, who I considered dad, died last year, and I am currently helping with my 77y old mother, as much as she’s helping me with my children. Days and nights are long, tedious, and sometimes stressful, but I’ve realized that the Lord is my strength when I am not able to continue another minute. Praying for taking more time out of my day and life to spend with the Lord.

  364. Jennifer Schmidt says:

Thank you, Leslie! God has been teaching this same truth to me lately. I know I can’t get the victory over my impatience with my three girls yet how important it is that I do. I need to be the example to them by taking time to pray every day.

  365. After many miscarriages I was finally blessed with 2 wonderful children. While I love my children & would never trade them for a moment, I’m in a place of struggle right now as I fight the day to day trials & tantrums of toddlerhood after almost 8 months of rather sleepless nights. I was deeply moved by today’s message & was strongly convicted that I NEED to stop the “Lord help me prayers” & get to a place where I’m purposely setting aside more time for concentrated prayer! I would LOVE to get a copy of this book!!!

  366. Barbara Pazicni says:

Hi. I would give the book as a gift to my sons girlfriend. They expecting a baby in mid December. I am looking for great ways to teach her (and my son)about Jesus Christ, who He is and all the ways He can add such depth, richness, power, strength, peace and purpose to their lives and the life of this new baby

  367. What timely encouragement! I’ve been feeling diacouraged lately as I see myself falling behind in many areas at home and have been praying that the Lord will help me to learn to be a godly mother for my 7-mo old daughter… And my twins that are on the way! Practical advice like this is exactly what I need: I need to spend more time in prayer!
I would be thrilled to get a copy of this book. Leslie’s writings have inspired and challenged me for years.

  368. Would love to read this. As a Mother who has prayed without ceasing, some things don’t change.

  369. I need the book to help me to be more prosperous in motherhood. I struggle with raising my son as a single mom. This book can provide wisdom and insight needed for this area in my life. He is a two year old, soon to turn 3. I’ve been informed thatthe first 5 years of a childs life shape who they will be and how they are. I have about 2.5 more years for that foundation to strengthen into something positive instead of negative. I struggle with getting control of him as a single mother, who is dealing with the negative emotions and confusions of never thinking I’d be in this position and being consistent in the right way to raise him.

  370. I own this already and love it but I’d like a copy to give to a friend with small children who feels defeated and not much joy in motherhood but wants that to change.

  371. Karen Cortez says:

I find myself in the same situation with praying. I am a single mom of 3 living the daily touch life as many. I just moved into a home that I fought for a year in a half to get. I turned in my 30 days notice to the company that I had been renting to for 20 years, to find out that they mortgage company denied me the loan. they told me that I didn’t make enough with the three kids and the things that I was paying on to afford the mortgage. I gave up. I cried to my friends, I gave notice to the renters, I was at a lost until my friends told me to pray about it. GOD didn’t bring you this far to leave you. This is your house! HE want you to have it. I prayed and I believed that HE wanted me to have this house. I want to proudly say, GOD, blessed me with a house with A/C, that I didn’t have for 20 years, a garage to park my car, and a safe environment to raise my kids. I lose myself in my busy schedule a lot trying to be here and there for each of my kids. I would like this book to remind me and help me day to day of the Blessings God gives us and teach me to Pray more.

  372. Brenda Manning says:

When I read the verse at the top of the devotion this morning I just broke down because right then and there I heard my Father speak straight to my heart and reminded me I need to make Him more of a priority. His Word is truth, it is NOT old and will Never fade with the years, I love His Word that it reminds me that I need Him in my busy, crazy, not together life of raising a family and all He’s called me to do. Being a mother is hard most days because we are called to be all that our children need, we are their first teacher in all areas of their lives. Apart from Jehovah we can do none of it. In order to instill Godly values in our children we as moms need to be set apart for Him, how else can we instill those truths in them and have Christ as their foundation when we don’t make Him OUR first priority and I do come to find that days go so much better when I spend real intimate time with Him before I tackle the day’s list. Our children face the world everyday when they leave our homes to spend with cousins, friends, and when they are at school. The world will teach them all the wrong things. We need to teach them all the truths of God’s Holy Word.

  373. Bianca Smith says:

I am not a biological mother but am requesting this book because I am a mother to my own mother along with my little brother and sister and many others. Because of the heaviness I have on me at times and knowing that the Lord is in control every step of the way I get easily distracted and bombarded by my own emotions
trying to take on the world. This book if it is for me I believe it will work out. Blessings to you

  374. Lindsay Hendrickson says:

I would love a copy of Set Apart Motherhoof because I am on my journey to figure out how to be a mother that operates in the Spirit. To be an example to my children to how to live a Godly life, and while I feel as if I fail miserably everyday, I wake up each day to give it another try!

  375. I would love to read this book!

  376. The Ludy’s have written words that have helped me walk through my journey so far, and now as I mother my toddler, I know that this book would encourage and teach me.

  377. Tina Noe says:

I really enjoy my daily quiet time using Proverbs 31 devotionals. I think a copy of Set Apart Motherhood would further my goal of being a Christ centered mom. My 6 children deserve for me to give my best to God, so I can do my best by them.

  378. Rebecca Scott says:

I would love to read a copy of this book. It seems like just what I need in my life right now!

  379. Brittany says:

This is something that I struggle with greatly. My days consist of me rushing my children around (sometimes yelling) and stressed to the max to get my “to-do” list done. I need some help in this area of my life.

  380. My daughter is expecting her first child in November, and this would be an invaluable asset for her as a new parent trying to raise Godly children!

  381. This has hit home with my life right now, I’ve been procrastinating and putting off praying the way I know I should be and the results have been grumpy mommy and grumpy kids.

  382. Jennie Frank says:

Your message today was very encouraging! I would love to read more in your book. As a stay at home mom to twin one-and-a-half year old boys, the days definitely get busy, and I struggle to find time to pray as I want to. I need help to make praying a priority!

  383. Rebekah says:

Trying to figure out how to make prayer an integral part of these precious days at home. My two month old is crying in my aarms at the moment, but my two year old is napping… So this just might be the best time all day. Too busy not to pray, but still not sure what the prayer looks like when it is so different than those quiet moments I used to spend coming to God alone with my Bible and prayer journal.

  384. Vanessa says:

I am a stay at home mom with a 2,4 and 17 year old. Day in and day out I am boggled down with the stress of the two little ones and the stress of dealing with my 17 year old having to fit in with his peers ( no matter what it takes) and yesterday was my breaking point. Last night, I went in the shower and creied for about 15 minutes. Asking God for forgiveness because ther are more days that I say how much I hate my children and hate being home with them and I can’t do it anymore and then today I read the devotional and it brought tears to my eyes because I really need to find the time to commune with a God and I believe that my life will not be so stressful. I would LOVE LOVE to get a copy of your book because I believe that it will help to steer me in the right direction with parenting….,.,,,,,,,

  385. S. Garden says:

My main issue is not about finding time to pray…it is more about exhaustion, discouragement and frustration. I have 4 young children ages 5 and under and I am just too tired! I spend time with God most every day but when it comes to my prayer life I can barely think straight. Once I am finished with my devotions or Bible study lesson I need to rest. Prayer seems to take more mental capacity than I have right now. Not sure what to do. Waking up early doesn’t work well for me while the kids are so young.

  386. I appreciate Leslie Ludy’s ministry and have read several of her awesome books. I am the mother of 6 month old twins (my first babies!) and would love to have a copy of this book to help me start off motherhood right.

  387. Shannon Powell says:

My daughter is almost 9 and I see her independence growing. She says I love her brother more than her. Maybe this book would inspire a closer relationship with my daughter, so that we are ready for the teen years.

  388. I am a single mom,my husband has passed on 5yrs now n its a struggle growing up two boys- prayer is what carries me through & I would love to have this book as a guideline & to give me more hope & strenght& make my connection with God stronger .

  389. I’m so excited to read Leslie’s new book. God used “Authentic Beauty” to really turn my life around in college, and I can’t wait to glean the wisdom He shares through her in this new motherhood chapter of my life!

  390. Please add me to your long and ever growing list!
Who wouldn’t love to be given this gift. Thank you for sharing what God has blessed you with. His Words translated in a way we all can relate to!
    Blessings to all!

  391. I have three children. One teenager, and two that are almost to the pre-teen years. Being a mom is one of the toughest jobs with the greatest rewards. But there are times when life gets overwhelming. Everyone needs enouragement and inspiration at some point, and what better place to find it than in the word of God. Once I am finished reading it, I would pass it on to a friend or other mom who needs encouragement from the Word.

  392. As a co-leader of a women’s ministry, I’d love to have this as a resource!

  393. Roschelle Holcomb says:

Sometimes i just don’t think I get it right being a single parent.

  394. I DO have time for prayer!

  395. I am a new mom and struggle with balancing time with Jesus and my baby!

  396. I would love to read this book! I have a 3 year old & an 18 month old.

  397. I quickly forget what’s really important when I am juggling 3 little ones at home.

  398. Prima Rose says:

I would like the book as a resource and tool in my own life, and then bless another mother in need as well. I am a single parent of a teenager and a deaf/autistic child. Both children are incredible reminders to pray; however, when a tantrum is on the rise, a malfunctioning cochlear Inplant device occurs, coupled with teenage hormones, time to settle myself in prayer seems engulfed by tears. I understand the principle, and need the space with my creator, but I wrestle with an enemy that seems to know when to attack. I need this book, and want the mentoring that it will provide. Sometimes, being a special needs parent feels very isolating. A good Christ-guided book would be a nice use of spare moments.

  399. Angelina says:

This was such a good reminder, we are too busy not to pray!!
I have two little ones and am expecting another in September, and a close friend also has 3 little ones under 4 years old. We’ve been praying about doing a mom’s study together, it would be such a blessing to use this book!

  400. What a wonderful devotion!! This is what I struggle with daily, so I would love to have a copy of the book! My husband is disabled, so I work three jobs to help make ends meet. My elderly father and my sister live next door to me…my sister is now on hospice care and I struggle to find anytime for myself. I know that I MUST make time for God in order to get me through each day. I pray that I can become more disciplined in my prayer life. Devotions (and books) like this really help people to realize that we cannot do all of these things on our own and that the only way to get through the trials in our lives is by giving them all to God!

  401. Kristine says:

I’m a first time mom of a two month old and really battling with postpartum blues. I know it’s because I need help prioritizing my time to make Jesus the center of my family. I have no idea where to even begin in doing this and could really use advice from your book, from a mom who’s been there.

  402. Katrina Tomlin says:

Thank you for such a great offer! I would love a copy of this book….I need guidance in this area.

  403. Shandie says:

I could use this book as I have let my busy life take over and focusing solely on my 2 little girls. I need to put the focus back on God and teach my daughters the importance of prayer and walking a Godly life.

  404. Mary Ann Martin says:

Wow- lots of comments- this book is wanted! Today’s devotional really resonated with me. I would love to win a copy of Leslie’s book. Thanks for another great give-away.

  405. Kandyss says:

Great post! I really needed it! I would love to have a copy of the book…I am a first time mom of a 1 year old, I am a wife, and I work full time. My prayer life had definitely slipped in the process 🙁

  406. I would like to win this book for my sister. She is enduring a tough custody battle with her ex husband. Her children have been through alot lately and I just want to give her some peace through God’s word. Its hard to tell someone you understand what they are going through, when you have never been through it yourself. I pray that this book helps her and her little ones during this difficult time in their lives.
    thank you!

  407. Olga Coe says:

I am a new mommy and my daily prayer is to be a Godly mom. In the newness of mommyhood it has been a challenge to find my quiet time with God, today’s devotion was such an encouragement to seek that time. I would truly enjoy a copy of Set_Apart Motherhood as a tool for my new journey.

  408. Jennifer Chapman says:

This devotional describes me to a T! I just feel that I can’t face the day head on without spending time with God and ending the day with a heartfelt prayer. Thanks for sharing.

  409. Stephanie says:

I also have six children. Nine years between them. Loved the encouragement.

  410. Heather says:

I’m a new mama and this post was very encouraging. I hope to read the book soon.

  411. Courtney says:

I have a 3 year old who just gave up naps and a one month old who prefers to be held while he sleeps, so busy is an understatement! This sounds like a great book to help prioritize my time with God

  412. Elizabeth Fallon says:

I would like to receive a copy of this book, set apart motherhood by Leslie, to share with my friend who may need to be a mother to her granddaughters. She really needs encouraging words and wisdom right now. I would likely read before passing it along because who doesn’t need more support in our faith life.

  413. Amber Olson says:

My husband and I have 2 children under 2 years old. We just recently began attending a church realizing that we need to provide them with a godly example. I truly need this book to help me daily lead a better life and be the daily example for my family. I need the guidance to. Not only be a Sunday morning example, but also a minute by minute example. Thank you all in advance for your help!

  414. Thank you for this devotion on busyness. I don’t have the “excuse” of little children anymore. We are retired, but I still seem to fill my time with ” things” seemingly important before I meet my Lord to start the day. I will be asking The Lord to show me those pockets of time. Some of my best days are when I feel His presence walking before me every step. Thank you again.
    Anna

I’m always looking to become the mother God intended me to be. I feel that motherhood is my calling & the reason I was put on this earth. I long to go deeper in His purpose for me.

  418. Would love this book for my God friend who has new twin babies and everything is new again with 11 years between kids!

  422. Elizabeth Mayers says:

I would love this book to share with other military spouses like me. With deployments, kiddos, jobs, etc it’s so easy to let Him come last (or not at all). This is an area I’ve been working on a lot, but would love to grow more… and to help other wives grow too!

  423. Gayle nelson says:

    I would live this!

  424. Cynthia says:

The more I pray, the more I see my great need for prayer.

  425. This sounds so amazingly like me!!! I know deep down that taking that time makes all the difference and still struggle to make it a priority!

  426. Heather Bahorich says:

I believe that mother or not, in your 30s and 40s, there never seems to be enough time. I find myself consistently finding a corner that needs scrubbed a little bit harder or a tucked away cabinet that needs revamped. It makes me truly feel like I am being a better women, wife, whatever when a task is complete that makes my home cleaner, more efficient, and includes everything crafty. However, all of these things are usually unnecessary and sucks up my time. I have to remind myself daily that those things are not fulfilling to my family, but giving myself daily to God in prayer is. I would love to read this book.

  427. Maria Avila says:

Please bless me with this book! It is my prayer and deep longing to be a woman after Gods own heart

  428. Jessica Lee says:

After {too} many years away from my Lord, I am trying desperately to become the Godly mama I promised Him I would be to the children He has lent me. I have made missteps, and I have let Him down so frequently. I would love to have the direction and insight this book could provide. More than that, I covet your prayers. Thank you for the daily encouragement and inspiration Proverbs 31 Ministries provides me on a daily basis.

  429. Christiana Crabill says:

My Mom could really use this right now. We’re in the midst of some medical crises and it has been taking its toll on our relationship. She is not relying on God to see her through. She puts all her stresses on me and I can’t handle them anymore. She needs to find strength within herself and God’s promise to her.

  430. christina miller says:

I am in the middle of raising a rambunctious 3 year old and trying to have another baby. I could use some direction in this area before we add another baby to the family.

  433. Nikki W. says:

I would love a copy of this book because it really hits home. I currently work from home while keeping my almost 3 year old with me, and I get caught up in the “I’m too busy” mentality often. This book would be such a blessing. Thank you!

  434. Elizabeth Mayers says:

I’d love to share this with other military wives who find it too easy to let deployment, kids, jobs, etc interfere with God’s time! I’m so guilty of this!

  435. Jenny C says:

Who doesn’t need a perspective on praying more? After all, we are to pray without ceasing. I am a stay at home mom that decided to homeschool as of last year. It’s been the biggest blessing of my motherhood–watching my children grow in the Lord! I was very busy previously as an Awana Commander, working on my schooling through Moody Bible Institute and also serving in many capacities in a local church. It was difficult to set aside quality time to pray, but I have been working on it–getting better day to day (some better than others of course). Prayer is so very important and it’s the way to have fellowship with the Lord throughout the day, which He desires of us. I think that this book would be a wonderful tool in promoting a more intense prayer life and incorporating it daily in my life to be passed on to my children and those that I am in direct ministry to.

  436. Brandie says:

I’m up to my eyeballs in this season of littles and busy days! I would love to read this book…and then share it with a friend! 🙂

  437. What an awesome devotional. This has been on my heart so much lately.

  438. Anna Gurrola says:

I feel this is the book for me at this time in my walk with God, thank you!

I am a new mom to a little girl…definitely could use some good advice on parenthood! Then I would share this book with friends!

  442. Laura Pape says:

    I need this!

  443. Lauren Smith says:

I’d love to read this myself & also to share with my sisters and a few friends. We just discussed how God has seasons in our lives and how sometimes the ministry we are called to is that of our ministry within our home. Even through our efforts to share the word and minister to others through acts of kindness, etc, we sometimes fail to focus on our families who also have need for ministry throughout life and throughout different seasons. I love the perspective!

  444. Shannon says:

I would really like this book. Please do not mistake my comments as ‘poor me’ but rather as ‘I really could benefit from this book!’ My family is very blessed, however I know I need to work on finding time for motherhood and being more intentional. My husband and I have 2 beautiful daughters, almost 6 yrs and just 1 yr. he travels with his job and I work full-time, helping my parents run 2 family businesses, both very demanding of our time and resources. Thank you for sharing this. It’s definitely going in my Wish List!

  445. KasSandra says:

I am looking forward to reading this! Whether I win or have to purchase. Far to often, I say I’ll pray later. Or I put off my time with the Lord, as if he can wait. And, although he will, he shouldn’t have to! I know that the relationship I have with him is what’s most important and everything else can wait!

  446. Patrice Patterson says:

I would like a copy because I like devotional reading and I am a single parent

  447. Alexandria says:

I would love to win a copy of this book for my wonderful mom, Penny. I often tell her that she is Mother of the Year, every year, but she is so overwhelmed by her schedule at times that I wonder if she forgets sometimes. I pray that she realizes how much her sacrifice and love for her family has inspired me to try to shine a light for Christ in this world as much as she has every day that I have known her. I feel in my heart that this book would be such an overwhelming encouragement for her and help her to make more time for prayer with Christ in the midst of her busy schedule. I have never known a more amazing woman or a more selfless, loving mom. If it is God’s will, I pray that this book comes to her, whether that be through this giveaway or a much-needed trip to the bookstore : ) Thank you so much for this opportunity and I will be praying for God to open the hearts of all those who enter and/or win this giveaway. But our relationship with God is too important not to keep the communication lines open with prayer. God Bless!

  454. I have just started the process of legal separation and have three little girls that I need to continue to parent the way The Lord wants me to. I am seeking advice in so many ways and have never been persistent and consonant in my prayers. This book would be another great source for advice and guidance with my prayers.

  455. I am a mother of a toddler and a preschooler with baby number 3 due in December. God is leading me to a new season which requires downsizing my business and focus more on teaching my children in the way that they should go learning about God and doing His will through homeschooling. I believe that this book will encourage me in my transition.

  456. Johnette Hedrick says:

Who wouldn’t accept any invitation to pray beforehand and thanks God for this opportunity to be of service by being a prayer warrior today

  457. I am a mama to a 3 year old and 1 year old boys and a baby girl due in September. The two boys have special needs and my days are filled with a lot of physical and emotional energy being used. 464. Hi! I would love to win this book. Being a mother is difficult and finding the balance between God, husband, children, and housework is difficult. I often find myself overwhelmed. This book sounds like it has very practical ways to apply Godly principles into my life, and my family’s.

    This sounds awesome !

  466. Marsha Tennant says:

    Thank you for this reminder!

  467. Anastasia Corbin says:

I love to take time with Jesus in the mornings. It helps me to refocus, refresh and remember who is on the throne. I also can get rid of self and go into my day others focused. When I don’t take this time, my day is off and I tend to be more frustrated with blocked goals. God’s goals need to be mine for the day.

I, too, am a mother of six. I would love to read this book and then share it with others!

  475. This devotion was inspiring. I’m a stay at home mom who is returning to work. I have four kids, two in high school and two in elementary school. I would love to have this book because I believe it will help me keep the right perspective as I return to the work force. I’m concerned about balancing my time at work, with family time, but mostly concerned about maintaining my relationship with God. I know prayer keeps me grounded and focused on God rather than tasks. Now that my own children are older, and their busy schedules keep me busy, I am finding it difficult to have quality time with the Lord each day. Looking back, I believe my devotional time was more fruitful when my children were younger, although I was extremely busy homeschooling them in addition to caring for other young children. I hope this book will be an encouragement to all those who read it. If I win a copy, I plan to share with my sister(s) who have young children and struggle with prioritizing their spiritual disciplines. Raised in a Christian home with 2 loving parents she cried herself to sleep every night and prayed this would all go away so she wouldn’t have to bear their disappointment. Now the shock is subsiding, the young girl and her mother and father are bracing themselves and leaning heavily on our forgiving and loving Dad so they can help raise this new baby. I think this book would be a comfort and a fitting gift for this new mother to be as prayer is a resource she will need now and in the times to come.

  543. Hi,

I am 6.5 months pregnant with our first baby. Everything is new, and I worry about being the Mom God wants me to be, and raising this baby in an environment that will nurture a loving relationship with Christ. My husband and I feel alone when it comes to knowing what to do to achieve that, and I know I would benefit from any encouragement and guidance I can receive in becoming the woman, wife, and Mom that God has designed me to be. If I don’t win this book, then that’s ok, but I look forward to being encouraged through your ministry. Blessings,

    -Ankory

  545. Lkostelnik says:

Oh my, I am a working mom with a beautiful little girl! I would love a copy of this book, and I would love to use the principals of the book to encourage/lead my non saved friends to Christ. Motherhood breaks you of your selfish ways, but it also opens your eyes to the fact that without God, raising children in this world can be extremely trying. What a friend we have in Jesus!

  546. I would love a copy of this book. I have been raised in a Christian home and now am a mother of 3 and am trying to do our best with our kids. We (like everyone else) have a busy schedule and we struggle sometimes to find time for devotions/prayer and this is not what we want to portray to our kids. We need to let them know this is so important that it should be one of the first things we do and especially together as a family. Thanks!

  547. Jedwards says:

This book would be a huge blessing to me and my daughter. As a new full time working mom I struggle finding time for daily prayers myself! Would LOVE a copy of this book.

  561. I feel too busy to pray at times when I get up too late and not early enough to put it as a priority first in my day. I have really been trying hard to get up earlier, pray and read my Bible first thing. I realized that this is the only way to handle all of the things that my day will bring. When those more difficult situations come in my day, it is easier to handle them if I have read my Bible and prayed first. Furthermore, I feel I’m handling them the way God wants me to instead of my flesh getting in the way. I would love to have this book because I feel it will continue to show me even more ways to handle life’s situations in the midst of my business as a full-time teacher and mother of 2 young children.

    This book looks fantastic!!

  568. Rebecca says:

I have always found it hard to make time for devotions and prayer 🙁 before I thought it was because I lived such a busy life working multiple jobs and volunteering for several organizations. Now I am a working mom of one with my second on the way. Shortly after having my first I fell into the routine of getting up in the morning when she feel back to sleep after a feeding and spending time with God before we started our day together. Life seemed so manageable those days and I was much happier then. Now with being back to work I have allowed the busy pase of day to day life push that time aside when I truly need it. I am looking to God for support and guidance on how to bring that special time back into my day.

  569. Andrea Somers says:

Would love to have this book. As the mom of two boys and three cats (2 boys, 1 girl), life can go by so quickly without pausing to reflect. Prayer needs to be more upfront but is often put on the back burner. I love reading your blog and the simplest sayings stick the most.

  570. L Granbois says:

My step daughter currently has a boy who is now 7 months old, expecting their 2nd child in December, and also is in transition with a move from Alexandria Bay, NY to San Francisco, CA, with her husband, who currently serves in the Coast Guard. She is a very good Mom and Wife but seems to get overwhelmed with all that is happening with their family right now. I feel she would definitely benefit from this book in hopes that she would see that there is time for prayer and the outcome from prayer can give her a renewed spirit.

I hope with reading this book (if I am lucky and win one of the books), it would help to find out ways throughout the day to take the time to fully pray and connect with the Lord. 610. First time mom who has allowed the very thing I always prayed for, becoming a mom, to weaken my relationship and time away from God. I allowed all the stress and worries consume all my time and attention. Lately I have been feeling God tugging at my heart to just slow down and sit in his presence. I believe this book will be a great resource to guiding me to My God!! I would absolutely love to have a copy.

As a mother of 2 and a full time pharmacist and manager of a busy independent pharmacy I feel too “busy” to spend time with God. But I know that is just an excuse. I should never be that busy. Too busy to pray, too busy to spend time with my Father. I need this book to remind me of the Truth.

I’m not sure if this is where you leave a comment to win a book. I really wanted to do the bible study. I am a mother of 5, two of my children are autistic, My husband is mentally ill, I drive a school bus and I volunteer. I can’t afford a book so I am excited for the chances to win one.

  619. I’m a mom of 2 (6 and 4). My 6 year old was just diagnosed with autism a month ago. I’ve been struggling with my prayer life for a VERY long time — feeling inadequate, too busy, etc. Add our new diagnosis to this already strained spiritual life and I’m a nut case! I’ve felt the Lord whispering to me but haven’t had the “tools” to answer. This has been a topic of discussion in my counseling sessions lately.

Set-Apart Motherhood sounds exactly like what I need right now! Learning how to be intentional with my children – showing them Christ in the midst of my stress.

  620. Becky Tredy says:

As a mom of 6 kids (all in 8 and 1/2 years) PLUS homeschooling (said I’d never do!), life is a circus most days! I am thankful for my family and all the variety we have among us, but there are days I am hanging by a thread at the end of my rope! I don’t want only those moments to be when I run/cry out to God for help! Constant business is my excuse for not making time to spend with God. LOVED the devo and would DEFINITELY like to hear more! Would LOVE the book but thankful for the post on Facebook no matter what! Encouraged! Thank you!!! 🙂

  628. jennifer says:

  643. Shawuntiel Johnson says:

I am single mother, and I am struggling right now to balance godly discipline and loving patience with my 5 year old. Just today after getting the response why for the fifth time I reverted to the answer I often got as a child “because I said so!” As I heard myself saying those word, I felt the Holy Spirit prompting me not to use them. I felt like the worse mom ever and I just turned and left the room, my daughter was still not dressed and I was now late. I could really use some help along the way.

  644. I’d love to give this book to our daughter, who is expecting her 4th child.

  647. Julie Collett says:

Instead of calling things aha moments I like to call them God moments! This devotional was a God moment. I put off my devotion all day today. I usually do it in the morning, but selfishly this morning I just wanted to sit in complete silence as I drank my coffee. My daughter woke up and then the tasks of motherhood and a job as a a Realtor took over. I just sat down to get on FB and a tiny voice said do your devotional….I didn’t listen. God showed me your post! I am now shutting down FB to go spend my time doing my daily devotion and prayer time! I would enjoy this book. I enjoy reading what I like to call “God help books”, not “self help books”!

Looks like a great book! I’m always looking for great resources to keep Christ at the center of my mothering.

  649. My husband and I read “When God Writes Your Love Story” and it changed our views on dating. We got married young and on a firm foundation of Christ. Almost 12 years later we are parents to two very busy boys. I could definetly use some God inspired insight:) I am currently working with a publisher to get my own book published and have had to face some battles of my own. Christian book authors have so changed and inspired me to finally write my own story.

  652. This is a great message for me. I tend to rush and rush to get things done. I sneak in a prayer when I am driving, doing the dishes, or hanging out the laundry. I would love this book to help me learn to stop and take meaningful time with my praying. I can’t rush God, and I need his help and guidance .

  653. Tabitha says:

I just became a stay at home mom and need this book!

  654. I come from a family filled with abuse. now at 32 I’ve decided I no longer need to accept it, and that God doesn’t expect or want me to, I am trying to undo the damage that’s been done with seeking God’s leading in raising my children. I don’t want my children to suffer from the same things I have just because they watched me do it for so long and think it’s ok for people to walk all over them, use them and abuse them.

I am trying to get my hands on all manners of holy spirit filled, God led literature that will open my eyes as well as educate me on being the woman of God and mother that he has destined me to be. It’s hard when your heart is so heavy, when you still hear the voice of the enemy presented through the people who are supposed to love you the most, my spirit feels broken. I feel so far from God, But I want to be near Him so badly. I don’t want to feel in so much pain anymore. I just want to claim his healing and his freedom. It’s also so important to me that my kids not have to feel this, that they will always rest in God’s assurances. I just need help. So to say the book would be a blessing would be an under statement. Thanks for considering me, and if you feel lead to, if you could pray for me I’d be so grateful.

  655. Kim Jackson says:

As a wife, mother of 4 (11,10,9,4), Children’s Pastor, and Pastor’s wife I need any and all encouragement I can get. My husband pastored a church for a little over 5 years when some people pulled some dirty stunts and got him fired. Although we know God was in it, in the past 5 months since it happened we joined together with a great group of passionate people and have started a church. It has been a huge adjustment for our family since my husband had to find employment outside of the church as well as pastoring.

  656. The title caught my attention! Would love to read it!

  657. Stephanie says:

  664. I am a stay at home mother of 4 children ages 28-12. I now watch my granddaughter full time, which is an absolute blessing, but my days are very busy and start at 5:30am. Prayer is something I do have a hard time fitting in. I want to make it a priority and starting each day with a devotion would be just what I need.

  665. Christie Martin says:

I need a copy of this book and know that God would immensely bless me with the words and guidance. This very subject has been the focus of my prayers lately. As a parent, we are called to lead and guide a child in the way they should go. Sometimes I get so distracted with life, my priorities, work and technology that my prayer life and my family inadvertently take the back burner on occasion. I have been asking God for help and focus, and this blog and chance to win this book are loving reminders of His love for me and answering of my heart’s burdens.

  666. Kimberly says:

I am going through a divorce and have 4 children. I am so busy trying to keep it all together and making sure that I am not messing up my kids in the process. 669. Anna Boyett says:

I would love to have this book to help me through each day as a mother and wife. So many times I get into bed at night and think, “did I pray today?, If I didn’t I’m sure it would have helped me deal with……”. I also have alot of mom friends and we meet bi-weekly and discuss a devotional. We are currently looking for something else for the fall. This would be great!

  670. Making time for a quiet time seems to become more and more difficult with two kids, a full time job, and never enough time in the day. My flesh usually wins with a few taps of the snooze bar, a late might TV show or gab session with a friend. My priorities seem to be all mixed up and even harder to straighten out!

  671. I’d love a copy of this book!!

  672. The Lord has been speaking to my heart on this situation lately. I could use this book for constant reassurance. I tend to put my house chores and tasks with my son first and prayer second. We do pray and do devotions before bed but there still needs to be time with the word if god and prayer.

  673. Jessica says:

I’m a new mom and my baby is now going to 3mos this friday. When I read this I thank God for reminding me, because like you I’m just spending short time with Him … Thank you for this! Your right of what you said it touch my heart …

  674. Looks like an Inspiring read that is convicting. Oh how we aren’t prepped for this motherhood journey. So humbling…
    Life changer read?

  675. Rebecca Luper says:

I am sure there are others who are looking for wisdom. ..I am doing the best I can…but still am challenged to do more…..

  676. I have a little one at home while working two jobs – a 30-hour work week plus a 1-day a week job so always feel challenged for time. Although a Christian since childhood, I have struggled in my walk with Jesus to take the time to pray, talk, and listen for him. Working the steps in Celebrate Recovery over the past 7 months has opened up many barriers and opportunities in my life and I’m searching for resources like these that will help me go further in my faith!

  678. Melissa says:

I would love this book please.

  679. Elizabeth Jones says:

Wow, I can so relate. My quiet times and prayer are the first to go when life gets busy. And I know it shouldn’t be that way!! I would love the chance to win a copy for myself and I’d gladly pass it along to the next mama friend who needs to hear it’s message. Truth is refreshing, that’s for sure!!! Thank you for the chance to win!

  686. Deborah Nolan Harriman says:

I’m not sure if this is the correct place to win a free copy of the book. I am a mother of 5 and our home life is very chaotic. I find myself trying to read/ listen to as much Christain based wife/mother advice. I have a 17 year old son who questions the Bible, a 14 year old son who bipolar. A 12 year old daughter who is entering middle school and is in the preteen stage and is so influential to the worlds way, a step son who is 9 and angry that his mother isn’t around, a 3 year old little boy. I work full time and so does my husband. I’m the main person who is leading everyone including my husband to The Lord. I’m praying all the time that my husband and children be filled with the Holly Spirit. That they start to walk in the word. Life is very stressful and I would really enjoy reading this book and gain more insight on a Christian mother. Thank you. God bless.

  687. I have young children and have struggled to consistently spend time with God each day.

  688. I’d love this book! I am a new mom of an amazing 7 week old girl… And as of Father’s Day, a single mom because my husband left us to be with a woman he’s been having an affair with. I’m praying he can fight satan and come home with a new heart so we can restore our marriage. My priority is to figure out how to be the best mom I can be for this little girl so all of this has as little impact as possible on her and so has a personal relationship with Jesus. (Any prayers for our family would also be wonderful) thanks!

  689. Danielle says:

I work with women who are pregnant or have just given birth that have addiction issues. The goal is for them to see that they are new creations paid for in full at Calvary. This would be a great book for morning devotional time.

  690. I am a mother of two babies, 15 months apart. I work hard to give MY ALL to my babies, my husband, my job and the household. As a devoted Christian, I know that I should be spending more time with The Lord each day. I would like to receive this book to help me learn how to put God ahead of all the tasks and chores that pull me away, so that I can give my ALL to The Lord as well!

  691. Anna Marie Adams says:

I’d love this book to be encouraged & challenged in my journey as a mom of 2 little ones!

  692. Nathanaelle Krommenhoek says:

Hello from New Zealand. If possible, I would love to send this to my sister, Naomi (also in NZ). I would love to win this for her. She is a lovely mother to her three beautiful children. Even though she is going through a difficult time at the moment, she loves those little ones very much. Blessings.

  693. Nancy Mason says:

I would give this to my daughter who has been a single Mom for the last 13 years raising my granddaughter. She has combined households with a great man with two children. Her life has been very hectic this past year trying to make a family out of two families! They do go to church.

  694. Vanessa says:

I could really use this book to learn how to balance being a mom and also a godly woman in Christ.

  695. I would give this to my daughter who is starting her family w/ a 3 month old and a 23 month old and thinking about number 3. She is a stay at home mom and is a good mom but I am fearful that God has taken second place to her family.

  696. jessica says:

I am the worst at putting things or busyness In front of everything. I would love to teach women balance and time with God has to come first

  697. Brittany says:

I’m a stay at home mom of two babies 16mths apart with a husband working two full time jobs…I need this book!

  702. Laurel Oxnam says:

I am always on the go! Wife, 4 kids and work full time to help provide. Where do you find the time? I know deep down In side it is the most important thing I need to do, but there goes that question again where’s the time? Hopefully I could benefit from this book and put things in perspective for myself. Thank you.

  703. Brand new mom of two here and I can’t seem to find a free moment for my quiet time anymore. But I know I need one-on-one time with The Lord each day!

  704. I’m a single mom of 2 wonderful girls!! I’m doing this all by myself with no other parent in the picture … I think this book would give me the tools I need to lead my family in the direction that God calls me to. I’m learning to put God first in my life through prayer, yet my family is still struggling as I enter into a new season of motherhood!!

  705. I’m a stay at home mom and would love to have this book. I struggle with this aspect of my faith and would use this advice to help me get back on tract and make sure that I have time for prayer every single day. Please let me win a copy of this book.

  706. Jennifer Morgeson says:

I am a mommy and teacher. I would love a copy as the back to school busyiness is on its way back. I want to be sure I am intentional about spending time with God through all of life’s busy days.

  707. charlotte says:

I would this book. I find Leslie and Eric’s books and insight so encouraging. I am right in the middle of the busy littles. I have 3 year old triplets and a 5 year old. An encouraging devotional on building my busy life on Jesus would be great!

  708. Josephine Randolph says:

I really need this! I’m a stay at home mother of soon to be 6 while my husband works long hours to suoport us. This is how I truly feel at times. Mommy duties start as soon as I get up in the morning til I lay down to sleep at night. The days I seem to be too busy to pray are the more hectic days but the days I get up & pray 1st and read my devotional, I feel like I can conquer all my duties!

  709. This would be great as I’m learning the balancing act of having 2 little kids. It’s not always easy finding the energy to for quiet time with the Lord.

  710. this is exactly what i needed today!

  711. The Lord brought me home last year to be a stay at home mother and wife though it was the farthest thing I imagined doing and He has been building me immensely since. I too struggle with the issues she talks about. It’s like my heart in another’s words. I am learning to build a life around Him and to prioritize the way He wants me to. I can’t wait to read this book 🙂

  712. Truly need this book, fighting for my children… I know I can not do it along and need all the grace and wisdom from above. I need more of Him, more of His grace, more of His direction for both myself and my three beautiful children. Not sure why I am going through this in my life yet, I know God has a plan for ALL of us.

  713. Brittaney Gant says:

This devotional really hits home for me. Thank you!

  714. Lisa Krahn says:

This would be an amazing book!! I have definitely been here and could use the inspiration!!! Thank you for the encouraging words!

  715. Leah Delp says:

Just what I needed to read today! Life with 4 boys can get hectic!!

  716. I would give this book to my sister who has adopted 5 of the children she’s fostered. They are all ages 9 and under. She also has 4 step-children and 1 step-grandchild. She has her hands full with this crew and the issues that come along with taking in foster children. I know this would be a blessing to her!

  717. Jennifer Storie says:

I am a mother of 5 and I want this book for myself, I want more than anything to be a mother after Gods own heart.

  718. I feel too busy almost every day. I’m rushing from morning to night. When I do get a rest, I want to nap. I am trying to go to Scripture in the beginning, middle, and end of my day. Some days are good and others, I totally fail. My husband works so much, and I take my job as a Mommy very seriously. I need to learn that going to the Lord is a help, not a hindrance.

  719. I’ve felt frazzled and disconnected since my daughter was born. This devotion has encouraged me to re-examine my priorities!

  720. This book would be something very practical for my life & one that I need to read!!

  721. Kourtney sutton says:

I would love to see how Gods has moved in my life by spending more time with Him in prayer

  724. Bridget says:

I would like this book for my daughter, who is a new mother. Love this ministry, bless you.

  725. Needed to read this today! As a crazy busy mom, we all need to see that we can and need to pray to Him throughout the day!

  726. Nereida says:

I would like this book, not only for myself but also to assist with other mothers in our Church women’s ministry.

  727. Jessica says:

This devotion aptly describes my commitment (or lack thereof) to putting Christ first. I am struggling with recently becoming a housewife with 2 small children and less than 1/2 of the income that we had. My trials are far less than many, but God seems so far away most days.

  728. This is a daily struggle for me. Would be grateful for some help.

  729. I would give Set-Apart Motherhood to my adult daughter who is the mother of my 9 year old granddaughter. During the past several years, my daughter has been in the middle of two domestic violence relationships that have lead her away from our strong family connection and her faith she was raised on. Her daughter accepted Christ as her Savior during Vacation Bible School at the age of 6 and has been an active member of her Children’s Choir for several years along with her attendance in the Olympian Clubs. She has worked to bring her mother back to our Baptist church, but there only seemed to be time for the special events. Now my daughter is incarcerated for 3 months and has been attending Bible Study, Chapel services and counseling faithfully. We can only pray that Jesus’ plan is to have her walk with him and not with the type of men she has been involved with in the past. She certainly has been lifted with any type of Christian reading and enjoys me printing Proverbs 31 daily and mailing them to her so she can share them in a Bible study with other women inmates. She really needs this to build her home into a sanctuary of order and peace and build back up her relationship with her daughter providing a healthy routine and relationship for them and her entire family. I pray that together mother and daughter will share the gospel at night as they have bedtime reading.

Thank you very much & God Bless……

  730. Katherine says:

    I need this book!

  731. I believe that God is truly using Leslie’s words to speak to the hearts of women (and even men!) By the grace of God, her words and encouragement hit my heart and may hurt, but are what I need to hear. I would love a copy of this book.

  732. Courtney says:

I’m a mother of 4 little ones 7 and under. Definitely need to prioritize my duties & say no to perfectly good requests. My mission field is right here in my home & I want God’s help & direction. I think this book will help me in my precious ministry.

  733. Kristen says:

I too am a busy mother of six. I struggle with finding the time to pray and be in God’s word. Any advice is welcome! I have a feeling this book is just what God is calling me to read.

  734. Jessica says:

This is where I am right now-always thinking I’m too busy to stop and pray (I tend to pray a lot on the go, but not set aside quiet time with God). This “too busy not to pray” is where I need to be.

  735. This sounds like a book that would be very beneficial. I loved what she said in the devotion about praying for the desire & strength to get up earlier in order to make time to pray & not be distracted by social media. That hit home. I’m a wife & mother of 2, & I strive to be the best Christian example to my children & Godly wife that I can possibly be. But, it’s a constant struggle. It struck me when she said when her prayer life changed, her daily struggles became easier to tackle with a smile. I believe everything happens according to God’s own timing, and reading this devotion, and hearing about this book & contest seems like God’s work to me. Even if I don’t get chosen, the devotion helped me so much. 🙂

  736. lamecia Williams says:

    I need this book

  737. I would like to win this for myself. I have had a rough 9yrs and I desperately want to get back to the woman and especially, the mother, God Made me to be. Thanks for the opportunity.

  738. I think this would be a wonderful book to read because as mothers we are all called to the ministry of family. I think this book would equip me to help me be the best mum I can be and therefore serve my family the best I can. 🙂

  739. Twila Williams says:

Just in the last week, Satan has attacked our family from every angle. Illness, family members choosing wrong paths, criticism from my husband’s boss, cancer, family member going to jail, etc. As a mom, a preacher’s kid, a pastor’s wife, I stay extremely busy with many things throughout the day. I know this book would benefit me personally first and then would be very useful in leading a small group Bible study for other moms.

  740. Could really use this now as I am a busy working mother of four and feel overwhelmed and feel a God calling me to slow down and spend more time with him

  741. Leslie Dillon says:

Thank you for your words of wisdom! As the mother of four grown children (all born in 5 years) I agree totally that the way I made it through those long days was on my knees! I would give this book to my oldest daughter a mother of two little ones. I see here struggle with the day I day…this is just what she needs to hear! (From someone else besides mom!

  742. Because getting it all done doesn’t result in getting it all right. Because the empty and poured out part of my soul needs the filling only He provides.

  743. This excerpt spoke volumes to me.

  744. I could really use some encouragement in, this area right now. I have two kids under 5 with baby #3 on the way. I just can’t seem to keep up! I have found myself becoming bitter about the amount of work that this whole family creates for me, when really I should be looking at them as my blessing. The Bible says that the fruit of the womb is a woman’s reward, but I’m not feeling like I’ve won a prize at this point with piles of laundry, dishes, and toys ready to overtake me at any given point. A different perspective, a biblical one, could really be helpful at this point.

  745. Tamara wolf says:

This would be a great gentle reminder of what we are here to do! Praise God! I’m a stay at home mom of three and working on setting this time aside! This book would be a reminder of how important that time really is.

  746. Would love to win this book and then pass along to all my momma friends!

  747. Jalayne says:

As a working mom of two daughters, I would love a copy of this book to strengthen my relationship with God and gain more tools to be more like him!

  748. Sheila Yates says:

I would love to win this book for my daughter who is about to become a mother for the first time. What an awesome gift!

  749. Desiree Huerta says:

I am always saying I’m too busy, I have no time. That’s the best thing I’ve read all week. You don’t have time NOT to pray!!

  750. Jessica says:

I would love to have a copy of this.

  751. Elizabeth says:

I apologize if this is a duplicate post. I recently lost a full term baby (my 3rd child). I am trying to improve my time and talks with God as well as teach my children to do better as well.
I would love to have the book.

  752. Rosa Reyes says:

I need this book! I really, really need it. It’s been heavy in my heart the need to spend quality time with my Creator. I feel it in my spirit that this is the book that will help me and encourage me to make the time. I need His strength, His peace, His joy to help me through my day. Praying that I will be one of your picks :))

  753. I would love to win a copy of this book. As a first time mom, I am struggling to take the time I need with Jesus each day and would love some helpful insight and encouragement!

  754. Jenifer Smith says:

I could really use this! I am a mother of 2. I have been very ill. I have lupus & my husband has been very sick with his multiple sclerosis. I could benefit from any resource that is uplifting & encouraging. I am really clinging to my Jesus right now to get us through all of our trials.

  755. Susan Pidcock's says:

I need this … I forget to take the time to pray and should do so for a witness for my daughter who is 7.

  756. I need this book for myself! I often struggle with finding time to pray or have my devotion with my kids running around!! Looks like an encouraging book!

  757. April Carnahan says:

I’d really like to win a copy!

  758. I am an 11 yr cancer survivor. My best friend talked me into doing my first girls weekend getaway last year – so needed. God is teaching how much I need the time with Him. I mean well and do good for a while with praying and reading my Bible and then drift into the busyness (the dog who we are housebreaking has been barking to go out before my alarm goes off – so I am trying to pray while I walk with him outside before everyone else gets up, 2 kids, husband comes home around 6:30 am from third shift and we get 45 min. before I’m out the door to my first shift job.)

  759. Brittany says:

I am a new mom to an almost 9 month old little boy. I am so so very blessed to be on this journey of motherhood and am always looking for more resources to encourage me as My husband and I raise our son. I would benefit greatly from this wisdom in this book. Looking forward to reading it whether or not I win a free copy!

  760. Adreane says:

As a mom to two little ones, I could use this book as encouragement in turning more to Jesus than my to do list.

  761. Carole O Wolff says:

I love the Lord and I certainly need him every hour and every minute of my life but I just don’t take the time that I need to to sit in prayer with him. I am certainly not too busy for him. I need this book.
