#Yes To God Blog Hop ~ Week 6

I’m not good at saying goodbye, so let’s not, okay? Let’s just say, “See ya later!”

You are joining us for our next study anyway, right? 🙂

I know I’ve said it before, but I want to say it again. Thank you for being a part of this community. You are important here, and we could not do this without you. And thank you for allowing me to lead our discussion and blog hop every Thursday. I assure you, this great privilege is not taken lightly. Together, we are being changed, and together we are helping to change the world.

How do I know change is taking place? Because you told me.

  • “I believe this OBS study was designed for my life for ‘such a time as this.’ Honestly, I don’t know how I would have come out of my situation without having said YES to God almost 5 weeks ago and continuing with this study up until now. I believe I will finish the race strong. It is in saying YES to Him that has made all the difference in my life.” (Vanessa)
  • I am finding my life changed because of this study.” (Amy)
  • Thank you so much for this study. I am a changed woman! My heart has been broken and my mind renewed. I feel fresh and truly happy for the first time in years. I have found my precious savior’s face once again. Thank you Jesus!” (Jennifer)
  • This study has changed my life. I now have a personal relationship with my Lord and Savior, and I praise him every chance I get and I study His word morning and night and any chance in between.” (Lisa)

There is evidence of the power of His Word all around us and within us.

Power to transform.

Power to heal.

Power to change.

Power to renew.

Power to love.

And dear friends, He loves us too much to leave us where we are.

We’ve come a long way, but let’s not stop here. Let’s continue our journey. Let’s keep the faith. Let’s press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling that is in Christ Jesus.

As we take time to pause until our next study, let’s remember what God has done and let’s also look forward with great anticipation and expectation of what is yet to come!

Keep seeking Him!

Might we pray together today?

Dear Lord, we love you. There is no one on earth and no one in the heavens who compares to You. Your love is amazing and Your sweet presence is indescribable. Our soul longs for You. To sit at Your feet, this is our heart’s desire. To know You and to be known by You, this is the greatest of gifts. Fill us up. Let us live in expectation of hearing You and seeing You every single day. Pour into us that we might, in return, pour out onto those around us. Be glorified in all that we say and do. You alone are God. We give You praise, and we thank You for loving us. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Some ending thoughts from Lysa TerKeurst in Chapter 9:

  • The mark of a truly godly woman is one who reveals the power of God not so much in her doing as in her being.
  • Our hearts search for deeper meaning in life, and radically obedient people find it in loving the Lord, loving others He brings in our path, and continually seeking to become more like Jesus.

Please feel free to share in the comment section how studying God’s Word has made a difference in your life. Also, let me know if you’re going to be here for the next study!

See ya later!

Love,
Shelly

  1. Wow, thanks Shelly for the sharing. Studying the word of God has helped me to know what is true and it has made me realise what is wrong in my life. So I find correction and teaching from the word. 2 Timothy 3: 16 says “All scripture is inspired by God. It is useful in teaching what is true and to make us realise what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us what is right. Vs 17 says God use it to prepare and equip his people for e dry good work.” I am definitely joining you I the next OBS. I have already signed up and have ordered my book. All ready to start! See ya later!

  2. My many thanks to all.
May our FATHER continue to bless and keep you and all that you love and hold dear.

  3. Lysa, thank you so much for the wonderful Bible study, I not only enjoyed it so much but I learned from it above and beyond. It brought me so much closer to God and also being able to have a more one on one personal touch with my Savior. I plan on going over the study again and really taking my time to really letting it all sink in. I’am sorry to say that I won’t be able to do your next study, cause the funds are just not in the purse right now. But please email me when you are goanna have another and I hope God will bless me with some extra cash, just like he did this time. Also please continue to keep my daughter Shannon in prayer I wrote to you last week about her and her leaving her boyfriend and taking the kids away from a really good dad, so please continue to keep her in prayer, I turned her over to God and I know He has complete control over the situation, and keep me in prayer for my fiances. Once again thank you so much on the awesome study and can’t wait to be able to afford to attend the next one. Your sister in #Say Yes To God Suzanne

  4. Lois Doughty says:

Thank you all of you Yes Girls @ P31 who made this study possible, and all the women who participated. I have been blessed and challenged in so many ways during this study and I believe it came at just the right time in my life. There are a couple of things I might not have said yes to if I had not been in this study. Now I’m saying yes to going on to the next OBS. I’ve ordered my book and signed up, and I’m looking forward to the work God will do in our hearts and minds through it.

  5. As I was praying the prayer above with everyone, this song broke out in my spirit:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZGzu6oI9b4 May I boldly suggest worshipping him with this song in your white space today? Studying God’s Word is amazing. Every time I read even the same verses that I have read many times before, He always shows me something that always relates to what I am going through at the exact same time or something that I can use to encourage others. He draws me when and where I need Him the most which is absolutely breathtakingly incredibly awesome..

  6. I am so excited for the next study, wish it started next week:-). But I am going to use this time to continue to obediently say yes to God. To meditate on what I have taken away from this study and to learn what God has planned for me and my family next! Praise God!!!

  7. This study has brought me closer to God. I am listening more to God and He is helping me not to get frustrated at things that happen. Seems like since I said yes to God, more situations /difficulties have occured. The good news is instead of getting frustrated I am seeking solutions or ways to help the situation. I won’t be joining the next study since I am doing a Lisa Harper study with my ladies Bible study at church. This study came at the perfect time. We were having a break at church and saying yes to God fit perfectly for me. So so thankful for all the things you did to help us with this journey to say yes to God.

  8. I am so thankful for this Bible study. God has made me say yes to taking in my mother next week after her surgery, none of sisters who live in the same town wanted too. I turning my dinning room into her bedroom because all our bedrooms are on second floor and she can’t go up steps. And God let my mother agree with this. My sisters figured she would put up a fight. My mother is a very hard woman to get along with. She is always complaining about something. So please pray that God gives me the grace to be able to deal with my mother and that we can have a better relationship. And that with Gods help I can get my mother to have a more loving attitude. Thanks again. I would like to do the next study, but I just started BSF and with my mom being here I don’t know if I would have the time to do it. I hope in the future I can. May God bless you and your family.

    • Kim I pray that the Lord will soften your mother’s heart, to look on things with a different attitude and that she would see you Lord from Kim’s ways and loving help. That she sees Kim love for her and be gracious for her help. You Lord can do anything and we thank you for helping Kim at this time. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

  9. I’m so grateful I said yes to blogging through this study – it has been such a blessing to see others blessed by the words He gives me. I look forward to seeing how God will continue to work as we start the new study in October.
Heartfelt thanks for each person in the P31 group who created such amazing opportunities to love our Abba,
    Jennifer

  10. My daughter invited me to “attend” this study and since it was written by Lysa, of course I agreed. With that being said, I have now signed on for the next study. I have done Beth Moore, Lysa TerKurst, Angela Thomas and Priscella Shirer studies. Each individual is unique in how they go about their teaching. I know Renee will touch my heart as well. See ya soon OBS!

  11. Kristi Rassi says:

Oh how I love gods word! It’s is my daily and almost minute-ly food. I crave it. It leave me filling full and satisfied. The most special thing to me with my family during this study has been reading/memorizing gods word with my kindergarten son and getting him his first and very own bible! I was soooo happy and felt like that was the best gift I could’ve ever given him! So thankful god has taken me from reading his word out of routine/obligation and turned it into a joy! It hasn’t always been that way!

  12. I can honestly say I was not sure how much I would get out of this study. I thought it would be good but I didn’t think it would be life-changing. Through this study and some other circumstances that God has been orchestrating I can say that my perspective on the Christian life has been radically changed. I’m becoming more sensitive to the leading of God and starting to realize that if God is who I believe he is he needs all of me. I need to be willing to say “Yes God, anything”. At the beginning of the study I felt God calling me to begin blogging. The whole concept was overwhelming and I felt like I couldn’t imagine sustaining that for the long run. Well through a series of other circumstances I felt led to serve through a mom’s group at my church. Well yesterday after submitting 2 entries I got an email saying I am part of their blogging team. I am so excited and can’t wait to see where God leads me through both of these opportunities. I have been challenged to say yes and wait on him and I’ve never been more excited to see God work in my life

  13. I too didn’t think I would get much out of this study. But it has just confirmed to me how important and necessary it is for me to be more consistent and intentional with my walk to God. I can’t effectively put into words what this study has taught me and what it has meant for my life. I too believe my life is changing. I feel as though I am going down a path towards a better and more meaningful relationship with God. I feel as though I am becoming a different, better person. I am so thankful God brought me to this place. I am excited for the journey ahead.

  14. I am shocked at the amount of change that has taken place in me over the last 6 weeks. I’m incredibly grateful for all of you at P31 who have led us and been such wonderful examples. I will definitely be at the next study and many more to come…

  15. This study has made me more aware of God’s presence all around me. It has also given me a deeper and more urgent desire to know and serve Him. Thanks for this study. andrea

  16. This was the first OBS where I did the blog hop – I am so proud of the fact that I was able to post every week. I love the comments that people post on my blog. It is very encouraging to have other confirm your thoughts or give you other ideas. I love this community and hope to see you all again in the next OBS – A Confident Heart in October!!!

  17. My best friend is going to KY for her bachlorette party. I am in the wedding also I don’t want to drink but I feel like a bad friend for not going. It is a 3 hr drive there and 3 hr drive back.

My husband really doesn’t want me to go.

    I keep praying for guidance.
    What should I do?

    • Casey,
I said a prayer for you, for God to guide you to make the right decision and the right choice. May God give you wisdom and guidance in this situation. If you do go I pray that God will watch over you and protect you.
      Blessings, Barbara

  18. I have received so much from this study. I am truly transformed. I’ve always been a happy person but I’m so much happier now with a joy that comes from my heart. I won’t say its been easy, the enemy keeps trying to destroy, but my strength comes from the Lord & now I believe that. I knew that before but now I know. I know He loves me, I know He cares even about the small things in my life. The God of the universe knows me inside & out & He still loves me

  19. Lana Archer says:

I have been so blessed and peaceful doing this study…. I will be here to do the next…. God has worked on my heart and showed areas in my life that need his power to overcome and to become more like Jesus…. to have my #palmsup and listen for him to speak and guide me has been wonderful….. and he never fails to speak when I need it…. Praise you, God

  20. Kristi Parker says:

I can’t believe that this study is over. I can say that I am a changed person. I have learned so much and others around me can see the change. My family life has been set to a more positive atmosphere. I have a new love and compassion for people and God has shown me in more ways to help them and listen to them. I own a childcare center and not only am I with children all day, their parents come to me for someone to talk to for guidance. My heart is overflowing with joy and I pray that my fire will continue to burn. Yes ladies, we can changed the world! I am ready!

  21. This OBS went by so fast can’t believe this is the last week for it. I am so thankful that I did this Bible Study and I will refresh this Bible Study again as it was a great study and saying Yes To God and Palms Up!!!Thank you Melissa,Nicki, and all of the Proverbs 31 Ministry staff for all of your hard work in this OBS.
Yes I have signed up for the next OBS and I have already ordered my book and can’t wait to get started.
Blessings to all of you Yes Girls!!!!! Barbara

  22. http://youtu.be/vK47InW6EhY
May this song bless you as we end this incredible study. ‘Yes’ by Shekinah Glory ministries

  23. Cindy Uhrick says:

This study has really made a difference for me… I find myself in prayer more, stopping in the midst of what I’m doing to pray for someone who is need of prayer. I feel closer in my relationship to God.
I am signed up, book ordered and ready for the next OBS…. Thank you so much for sharing with us throughout this study…..

  24. This has been an amazing journey. I too believe we were brought together for such a time as this. While the journey has not been entirely easy, it has been worth every step. The ladies in my group, though I’ve never met anyone in person, are like sisters to me. In sharing struggles and encouragements, I am truly blessed!

  25. Margaret C. says:

I want to say that I am so incredibly thankful that I decided to do this Bible Study. It has been a real self-examination for me in walking in obedience to God. Right now, I feel God prompting me to move m business (it is at my home) and I have to say the thought of adding the overhead and more gives me butterflies … well, truly, I feel like my stomach is in my throat. I don’t have the finances for it today – but I do know this, where God guides, he provides. I was talking with my mom and she said that this may be a really good thing for me as it will separate my work and home life. She is right! So, I will go look at the properties and put 100% in it. I also have sensed God speaking to me about an area in my life that I need to make myself accountable for. We talked about this on Sunday in our house church …. It boils down to Trust – can I trust this person to never talk out of school, and Vulnerability … literally peeling the skin of the onion. Bare & exposed…. naked! Draw me closer Lord! Saying YES to God! Thank you!

  26. This was my first OBS and I didn’t really know what to expect, but was excited about it! God has blessed me so much through this study with His Word and the fellowship of these amazing women I’ve “met” online. I will not be doing the next OBS because I am back to my regular church’s Bible study. However, I plan to do it again as it fits into my schedule at a later time. May God bless all the women leading and participating in the next OBS! ” Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4

  27. Thank-you to Melissa, Nikki, Lysa and everyone in our OBS. I am ordering the book for “A Confident Heart” study today. This study has taught me so much, making time for God, letting my heart rest in his presence, saying #YestoGod, and so much more. I have enjoyed verse mapping, journaling all of the Bible verses and looking at the variety of versions on Biblegateway.com Thanks for the music videos too. May we all be blessed with a fresh vision every day and be made new.

  28. So many thanks for this study and thanks to Jesus for showing it to me. This was also my first on line study and I was a little worried I would not get anything from it without the face to face interaction but I was so wrong. I plan on being a part of the next study and I really look forward to what God has in store for me.

  29. Ginny,
I loved your post last week from the closet and I wanted to thank you for being so “real” with us! What an encouragement you are. I have loved being here with you on Thursday’s. God is moving so much in my life and I know this study has been a major part of that.
I am excited and REALLY looking forward to our next study in October… See ya later!
    Suzanne
P.S. that is a beautiful prayer, thank you!

  30. I am so thankful for OBS. I am Catholic and came up with an emptiness when it came to bible study. I sought several including those with my protestant friends and still did not fill the hole. This study has fill not only the hole but my SOUL! I LOVED every minute. I will definitely be here for the next one. Praise the Lord for the gifts of Melissa, Nicki and Ginny. You truly are examples of Righteousness! Thank you and bless you!

  31. Thank you Shelly for all you’ve done here!
Studying God’s word is not new to me but the power of studying with over 24,000 women and having a FB group and our FB parties has helped me so much. I loved this study, it’s probably the best Bible study I’ve ever done. God has really spoken to my heart through these six weeks and I’m blessed beyond measure that He led me here to P31. Of course I will be here for the next study, signed up already….I want to continue seeking Him and become more and more like Jesus.
I see how many women are hurting and have real struggles, it breaks my heart. I want to not only grow in The Lord and become more like Him but I want God to use me. I want to be able to reach and help these women. I thank The Lord for all of these #YesToGod women and I’m very exciting and waiting on God to see what is the next step He wants me to take! #ISaidYes

    • Awesome, Michelle! You’re right…it is pretty incredible seeking God together with so many other women! I love how He is connecting all of us! Keep seeking Him…He will show you the next step! See ya later! 😉

  32. This study has definitely brought me closer to God and for that I am thankful and for our wonderful group of women that continue to persevere for God.. Blessings to all.:)

  33. OBS allows me to feel SO close to God, which is something that I get after church. The daily closeness with HIM through OBS is so important and I’ve grown spiritually. I have learned to trust the Lord, to listen to Him, and am getting closer to divine peace. I’m not there yet and have already signed up for the next session to continue on the path of feeling the closeness to God every second of everyday. Thanks to Lysa, Melissa, Shelly, Nikki, and all the other Proverbs 31 Ministries ladies who make our spiritual enlightenment possible.

  34. This study has renewed my zeal, and passion for saying YES to Him! I had been stuck on no for quite a while. My blog has somewhat chronicled the unfolding through this study. Thank you ladies, Melissa, Nicki and Shelly for leading us through this study! God bless you and all of the YES girls…until we meet again. Love and hugs!

  35. Hello Yes! Girls,
I just wanted to thank everyone, P31, the leaders, and all the awesome ladies here! I needed this study so badly! It was summer and church didn’t have any studies. One day I just stumbled upon the Ps31 site and saw that they had an online one. I was skeptical, how could I really connect with the other ladies from behind a screen, would I have enough disciple to actually read, post, and get the work done? Well, God blew me away because I have been changed, a new heart has developed and I feel refreshed. I feel ready to take any steps that are necessary to do what God asks, to say Yes with confidence and continue on this journey with God! I was really lost before. I’m 25, I live at home with my parents, and I have felt discouraged and well damaged. I have dealt with an addiction for a long time now almost 3 years and even though I’m in recovery now, I still trip up, but I feel like because of this study I have more tools in the tool kit to use when those dark times creep up on me. I have saved all the verses and notes, journals. Knowing I can pull these resources out is assurance enough that I can stay successful in recovery and finally move on with the life God’s wants me to have. I am recommitting my life today to Christ! I have been tripping up too long and I’m ready for this new life with Jesus!
Thank you ladies, you have truly been a gift and blessing to me.
I can’t wait for the next one already! I am so pumped we can do it all over again with a new book! I love you gals! Let’s take this break to really reflect what we have learned, studied, and what God has done not only in our own lives but in each other’s as well!
    Til’ Oct. 13!
    Blessings,
    Kp

    • Amen! I so agree, with you Keri- what a refreshment this study has been. I too had doubts on whether I could do an OBS… God is faithful and where I fell short He filled in the gaps.
Glad to be in this study with you and SO many others!

    • Keri! Congratulations on recommitting your life to Christ today!! I am shouting and rejoicing with you! Hold on to the Word of God, stay close to Jesus! He is the best recovery tool! 🙂 You can’t go wrong with God! You got this!! So happy you’re continuing with us for the next study! Hugs!!

  36. This was the best Bible study that I have done online. I have really enjoyed it. I am looking forward to the next Bible study to see God’s blessings through it and how He speaks to my heart. Thanks Melissa and Nicki .

  37. Mavis Tipton says:

#ISaidYes in the beginning of this Bible Study for what the Lord was leading me to say yes to. Through that He has brought healing to my body. As we moved through the Bible Study it became apparent that the Lord had something else in mind for me to say yes to, which I did. Yesterday’s review to us 1. When I say yes to God, I can get hit by the enemy because he doesn’t want me to be obedient. 2. By pressing through I will be radically blessed. Summed it up in a nutshell. I have taken the 30-day challenge asking God to reveal Himself to me like never before, and to fill me with a desire for Him like never before. I have shared with this with a group of young girls 12-20, and challenged them to do this. I am excited to see what all the Lord does for each of us.
I can not thank Lysa TerKerust and all the Proverbs 31 ladies for the wonderful Bible Study. For all the work and effort, and prayers you each one put into it. I have been radically blessed. I am signed up for the next OBS, and I am telling many ladies in my church about it and encouraging them to be a part as well. My life has been changed. Thank You Lord Jesus. 🙂

  38. Started doing OBS earlier this year with LET.IT.GO. Continued with Stressed-Less Living & now Yes to God. Just can’t express with words how blessed I’ve been through all 3 studies. Faced some tough situations in my life… Actually still facing some but God has greatly used these beautiful women who authored each book & Melissa & so many others from P31 who posted each week. I’ve also been blessed & helped by so many others in this OBS community that have shared their feelings, Bible verses, & songs that spoke to them. I’m so looking forward to the next study! Got my book & signed up! Almost forgot, wanted to say a special thank you to Jamy for saying “yes to God” by sending encouraging emails. I am one of the ones she ministered to. I’m praying for all of you ladies & would appreciate your prayers as well. God bless you all & help you to be radically obedient even when it’s hard or may not make sense!!!

  39. Blanche Matthews says:

    I have been blessed.
All good wishes to you all.
May God continue to guide and protect you all.
    Thank you.

  40. God Has truly worked thru you giving this Bible Study. My daughters (2) and I have grown closer to God and have grown a closer bond to each other thru this wonderful God inspired Study.
    Sincerely,
    Swinson Gals

  41. So this morning I got let go from the company I love – they are small and just couldn’t afford me. Ironic that just yesterday I got caught up on the study, feeling blessed and closer to God, and now the study and my job are ending. I hope another door opens, but can’t help grieving today. Could use prayers.

    • Amanda, I am so sorry about your job. It sounds like God was filling you up and letting you know He is right there with you! I am saying a prayer for you right now. Keep seeking Him with your whole heart. Trust Him in everything. His plans for you are for GOOD and not evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11)

    • Amanda, i am so very sorry about the lost of your job. But nothing is impossible with God. The memory verse that we had this week was Psalms 118:24 (This is the day the Lord has made, Amanda let us rejoice and be glad in it.) So i will rejoice with you and trust the Lord that he will provide you a job. As you are being patience and trusting the Lord and having time to study his word now, i will keep you in prayer. Your Sister in Christ

  42. Good morning ladies,

This study has reinforce my devotion to God, and I’m loving seeing what He’s doing in others lives. I have already signed up for the next study. Can’t wait. Love everyone and have a great day. I have to go to work now. See everyone later!! #ISaidYes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  43. I would just like this study to go on forever. Reading this book, studying scriptures, being in prayer daily, encountering new friends through bloghops – it has been an amazing journey. Thanks you everyone for putting this together and helping me to hear the Lord more clearly and more consistently.

  44. Dear OBS Ladies ~ I come to you with a “shaking in my boots” humbleness, excitement, fear of failure, wondering what will happen, ready to be amazed, as I say “Yes to God.” I read Chapter 9 this morning, and believe God, of course in His infinite wisdom is driving this, and it is His perfect timing. With my head already filled with all the blessing of the various blogs I read, as well as Chapter 9, I called my boss, who is also my friend. He was not in a good mood…His father Bob, who is a very dear man and who has been a blessing in my life, is 88 years old and has seemingly decided to stop eating so he will just die and be done with life on this earth. He is a Christian and I know he will be with the Lord eternally, but what he is doing is not right and the family is concerned, as am I. He is the kind of person who is anxious and a worrier about everything, as well as someone who is controlling/manipulative in his interaction with his family. It has been this way his whole life, but has gotten worse as he has aged.

After talking with my friend, my heart has been racing with a what can I do to help Bob be transformed, as his son says it is not physical but mental…he has made up his mind to just give up. Three things kept popping into my mind. 1) Lysa’s challenge in Chapter 9 to pray for the next 30 days and ask God to reveal Himself to you and fill you with a desire for HIm like never before. 2) Romans 12:1-2 ~ …offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God…be transformed by the renewing of your mind…; and 3) Philippians 4:4-9 ~ …do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. …whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy–think on these things. … put it into practice…the God of peace with be with you.

Given all this and the love I have for Bob and not wanting him to give up on living, I come with a big prayer request. It is three fold… 1) I plan to send him a card each day for 30 days with a portion of these two verses included and a note of love and encouragement to him. 2) That the Lord would give me the words for each card, as though I have been trying to send cards out to folks more often, 30 days in a row is going to be a huge Yes to God challenge for me.; and 3) That the words of God, the words He gives me to write, and the Holy Spirit within Bob would stir him to be renewed in his mind and heart, and that he would be transformed. It is the Lord’s timing and decision when to call Bob home. When he decided to give up, it is like killing himself. Not good or pleasing to the Lord, and his family is very concerned, frustrated, and angry. Please keep them in your prayers as well.

I know this is long, and I so appreciate you taking the time to read it and pray for Bob, his family and myself to rise to this challenge. Bob and his wife Marie just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. It was a wonderful celebrating and seemed to be a turning point for Bob, but he is falling back into the same mindset. I so understand how that can happen. Saying “Yes to God” has changed my own mindset in so many areas of my life. I can’t wait to see how God uses this in my life, Bob’s life, his families’ lives…waiting to be #amazed as I have my #palms up.

Thank you for your prayers…blessings to you all! See you in the next study…can’t wait to continue. Love and hugs, Kim 🙂

This OLBS has restored my relationship with The Lord. God has opened new doors of opportunity for me to say yes to him. Please pray for me to do his will and make things work out between work schedule so I will be able to do his will. I haven’t been able to sign up for next study can’t find the right link. Can anyone help me ? Thanks to all and may God bless all you lovely ladies saying yes to God.

  46. Hi Shelly,
I loved the prayer you shared with us today! After personalizing it (we – I; us- me) I printed it out on pretty paper to keep in my Yes to God journal.
This OBS has been something God has used in my life in such a big and personal way. I’m committed to being a Yes Girl for the rest of my life!
    Blessing to you!

  47. Racquel Peterson says:

This study has reminded me that by studying God’s Word I can have a deeper connection with Him and a clearer vision for my life! It is great to know that I can ALWAYS count on HIM!! I can’t wait for the next study. I have encouraged a few of my friends to participate and I am praying they will sign up. Thank you for the work you are doing to help spread God’s message.

  48. Hi Shelly,
I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed a Bible study more than the one I’m finishing this week. “What Happens When Women Say Yes To God” has been a life changing study that has ramped my walk with the Lord. I’m so on fire for God, I can hardly contain it! Maybe my heart was ripe to hear the message of this study more so than any other time I’ve done a Bible study, but whatever the reason, I’m so thankful that I completed it. It was my first online Bible study (OBS) and I was a bit skeptical that without the face to face sharing and discussing that I wouldn’t get as much out of it, but wow was I wrong!

I signed up for the next study this morning!

  49. I am SO going to be here for the next OBS! CAN’T WAIT!

  50. I used to be all about saying NO. But I did say YES to signing up for this OBS six weeks ago. Stayed at the MAYBE for awhile. Now its YES! Although things are not rosy in my personal life, I now know how to confront the negativity that is running rampant all around me. Thank you Melissa, Nicki, all the OBS Team, and the 24,000+ awesome women I’ve studied with. I couldn’t have done it without your guidance and wisdom. And YES I have signed up for A Confident Heart.

  51. Yes, I will be here for the next one 🙂 can’t wait!!!

  52. This Bible study was perfect for me! I have MS and cannot drive to local place to do a study. God knows that and he led me to it! It is wonderful to be involved with others. Thank you! I have never tried the blog hop. it is a little intimadating for me. But I am sure I will catch on. I am saying yes to God every day:)

    • Carol…I’m so excited that God has used this study to connect you here in this community of so many other women! What an honor it is to have you here! No worries about posting a blog! You can create a blog if you want to or you can just post here in the comment section! Blessings!

      • Thanks Shelly, I did figure the blog out. But for now I didn’t say much. Maybe later. I can think it in my head but sometimes the words just don’t come out!
        See ya later:)

  53. Sue Hillard says:

I was saved when I was 21. God’s Word completely changed my life; it gave me a new way to live. I use it as my guidebook in my walk. Of course, I’m not perfect, but I do try to follow along the right path. I am so thankful for His Grace and Mercy…everyday!

I’ll be joining the next study…yay!!

  54. This is my first OBS and my first ever Bible Study of any sort. I had been waiting to attend one for awhile but I live in a small town and did not know of any in my area. I am so glad that I did this study as I think Saying Yes to God is the best way to start a new journey with the Lord. I have been half-heartedly following Jesus for the past few years but I am WHOLEHEARTEDLY committed now. I am so grateful for Proverbs 31 Ministry and all the wonderful people that are involved. I am blessed to be a part of such a wonderful “family!!” I can’t explain how God is working in my life and what a blessing it has been doing this study. I look forward to the next OBS!! I am very excited to continue my Faith journey with all of you ladies:)

  55. Charlene Dorame says:

Hi girls! I too despise saying good buy, but since I signed up for “A Confident Heart” OBS, I can say Hello Again and lets continue! I truly have been inspired by this bible study and have grown so much closer to God but also I have learned a lot about myself and how I can “Say Yes to God” in so many ways I never imagined. I know God is preparing me for something big and He knows exactly how to move us and in what direction, that is what is so great about God, my Father. I wanted to share the prayer that I will start tomorrow that Lysa challenged us to, I hope you enjoy it.

Heavenly Father I come to you today and everyday for the next thirty days to ask You to please reveal Yourself to me, in ways that I can’t deny and know that without a doubt it is You, Father. I long for you and crave You and I ask you to give me an overwhelming desire for Your Spirit, like I have never experienced before. Abba Father I just ask that at the end of these thirty days it will be the beginning of an incredible and more beautiful relationship, teaching me and guiding me to do Your will. In the name of Jesus, that whomever I may come in contact with that they may see You in me and want the same. It is all about you my Lord. I will wait to see Your loving and caring face, I will expect those divine appointments and those hidden treasures. Cover me in the blood of Jesus and send the angel’s from Heaven to protect me, that nothing may interfere with these things I have asked of You. I love you with all my heart, all my soul, and all my strength. In Jesus Name and of the Holy Spirit I pray. Amen and Amen

  56. I want to say thank you to God and to all the Teachers and prayer partners for allowing me to be able to connect with so many women. I Thank God that i am able to see to read his word. We take the smallest things for granted. Reading, writing, seeing, thinking, others, love contentment, etc. All these things come from the Lord. I will not be able to do the next lessons but i will pray often for Proverbs 31 and the ministries. #Say Yes to God has help me to see more and more why i should be Obedient to his word no matters what. Our Great God is in Control. Your Sister in Christ ( Delores)

  57. Cindy Shick says:

These last two weeks My family and I have been sick with a virus. My husband is still dealing with a horrible cough. Please pray for us. Even though I have been sick, I still finished all of the Bible study! I am going to do the next Bible study, and the next one too. I am already signed up for the one in October. The Lord has really spoke to me in this study, and I am a “Yes Girl” and it is awesome. Sometimes it is hard to say yes, but God can help us is ways we could never imagine. He is awesome! I am a different wife because I am a yes to God woman. God wants us to love and forgive our husbands. Talk to you all later in the next study.

  59. Amanda A. G. says:

Psalm 81:10…I am so thankful for Christ as Lord and Savior who gives to me abundantly of His peace, love, and provisions in daily needs and health.

This has been a great study… It was an enjoyable format. I have had some good discussions with several ladies through the blog, Facebook, and Twitter. The study was driven by Scripture and a good challenge to apply the Word to our daily lives to grow in our walk with Christ.

I continue to be #amazed at all that The Lord is doing. I pray that I always have a heart that says #YestoGod, and I pray that I keep a #freshfocus…

  60. This bible study has done so much for me I can’t even begin to tell you all of it! It has rescued me from my pit of despair and I have learned so much. Now that we are done, I plan on reading it again. It Was That Good!! I am already signed up for A Confident Heart in October and my book arrived today!! I have also gotten my sister to join in with me. We can’t wait to be study buddies and get closer to God together!! So until next time I will continue to Say Yes to God!!

    • One other thing that has happened during this study is…I can’t get enough of His Word Now!! I crave it and can’t wait to read more!!! I have never felt this way before and I don’t want it to ever end so I make sure I get my daily dose and then some!!! Thanks again ladies of Proverbs31!

  61. Hi Shelly,
Thank you for all you do for OBS! It has been a remarkable adventure for me & I love it! I will be doing the Confident Heart study too!

  62. Peggy Garrett says:

This study came at the PERFECT time in my walk with the Lord! It seems that it was just part of the continued path. It stretched me into opening up my closed off not for God areas in my life. Saying yes has meant allowing Him access to every part of me, intentionally. The Lord has really used this study to boost my “GodConfidence”. In my past, I would have started this LIKE GANGBUSTERS and then FIZZLED OUT just as quick. Over the last few years of my RELATIONSHIP with the Lord, He has really allowed me HUGE growth and shown me my TRUE hearts desire. Every time I complete a study or a commitment that I started for the Lord I see His hand in it. I see where it gave me strength and “GodConfidence”. When this study started it was a confirmation of all that has led up to this point. He just continues to complete the work He started in me! PRAISE GOD. I realize more and more that this is a journey NOT a destination and if I ever ARRIVE then I am missing the BIG picture! This walk is not to arrive but to become! #ISaidYes Specifically, I said yes to
#1 Volunteering at Life Services our local ProLife Clinic… I GET TO CONSULT PRAISE GOD!
#2 Gave up Candy Crush Saga… IT WAS A MAJOR time waster!
#3 Gave up eating out (indefinitely)… THIS WAS HUGE… It was obsessive. He had been dealing with me for a while but I would not even allow Him access to consider it. In the beginning of the study I had to ask for prayer to get the WANT to to WANT to ask for prayer to WANT to say yes to this. In week 4 I finally said #yestogod and God gave me purpose with it to hold me accountable and seriously through HIS might and HIS power I have been faithful to this call!
#4 No more negative feedback to my husband… This is probably the hardest because it leaves me feeling so powerless for some reason. I am really seeking the Lord for His strength and His ability for this. Please continue in prayer for me. God can affirm me! Really His affirmation is all that truly matters anyway and if one negative word negates every positive word then for now God can be my affirmation. He can hear my cry and I can allow Him to hear my voice.
#5 I finished STRONG in this study! From start to finish thru the power and Grace of God I was consistent and faithful in staying connected and completing this part of the journey.
My hope and prayer is that Jesus gives me the consistent power to continue to #sayyestogod every time He beckons me. That He would help me to be sensitive to His Voice and call and that I will faithfully and willingly obey.

  63. As always, God brought this study into my life at just the right time for just the right reason …. to remind me He loves me [us] and not to give up. Each study has led to the next and He just keeps on with me through each one…. I am so excited to see what ever the next study brings!! Thank you so much to the Proverbs 31 group for organizing this on-line forum. It is such a blessing to hear the hearts of others and read of the life changing experiences …. and 24,ooo women … still can’t wrap my head around that one! May God bless each one who participate or organized with a sweet time of rest and restoration for all the effort expended in being in a place of vulnerability … Praise Him for using every blemish in our lives for beauty!!

  64. Thank you all for this OBS it sure has brought about a different outlook to my life. For my desires and what I would like in my life. I don’t have a vision yet but I am sure He will reveal it to me. I know that the Lord desires me to come closer to him and I am taking that 30 day challenge and wait in anticipation to what this brings to me from Him. I pray for all the ladies that taught and those who participated in this study may we all hold on to the #saying yes to God. In Jesus name I pray. Thanks again bless you.

  65. I have so enjoyed this Bible study! It has changed my life! I can’t wait to start the next online Bible study in October! Thanks to Proverbs 31 Ministries for all that you do! I follow you on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and get daily devotionals sent to my email. It has been so helpful to me in developing and maturing my faith! 🙂

  66. Teresa Hagood says:

I have been simply blown away by this Bible Study. Melissa you have such an anointing on your life and I’m thankful that Lysa helped you realize that. Had you both not been obedient to God think of the thousands of lives you would not have touched with this study. After hearing about the Dove’s Nest I am volunteering in our own Downtown Rescue Mission this week and can’t wait. I want to be Radically obedient and blessed! I’m ready for the next study, can’t wait!

  67. You have remarked very interesting details! ps nice site.
