Preparing for Made to Crave

I know that the Made to Crave Online Bible Study is still a month away, but here at Proverbs 31 Ministries, we are already preparing. And wow, are we excited!

There is so much that goes into the making and implementing of a Proverbs 31 Online Bible Study.

Our design team has been creating graphics for our website, Facebook, and our new product a M2C (Made to Crave) journal. (available next week)

Our conference call team has been working on an entirely new format for our call series. Interactive workshops titled Made to Crave Monday Mornings designed to guarantee success. Featuring 6 sessions (calls), 1 webinar, the M2C journal, and access to a private Facebook group for community support. (available next week)

Our production team has begun filming a few videos to accompany the study. This is one of my favorite things to do! Here are a few shots taken during the filming.

MTC filming me and Nicki

MTC filming w Lysa 2 MTC filming w Lysa 1 We had a great time “on the set” hahaha which is really Nicki’s kitchen, the P31 kitchen, and Lysa’s office! At one point (2nd picture) Lysa’s message was so captivating, I forgot we were filming. I was ready to take notes! So good. I can’t wait for you to see them!  The first video will go live January 1, 2014.

Our entire OBS team has also begun praying. We are praying for you and all the ladies who will sign up for this online Bible study. We think God is going to truly work His transformation power during Made to Crave.

We want to invite you to begin preparing as well. Prepare your heart. Pray for Lysa TerKeurst, author of Made to Crave. Pray for the leaders of  the MTC study and the P31 OBS team. Pray for yourself and all of the other ladies who will be on this journey with you. It’s never to early to begin praying.

And while we are preparing, why not also do some inviting. Do you know anyone who you could invite to join us?  Please invite them! We want God’s girls to be free from craving anything except Him!

Will you be joining the Made to Crave OBS? If so, introduce yourself. Tell us your name, where you are from, and what you hope to gain (or lose) as a result of Made to Crave. I’ll go first~

My name is Melissa and I live in Charlotte, NC. I hope to gain a deeper relationship with God where I do literally crave Him. I hope to gain lots of new friends to join me on this journey, which I’m expecting to not be easy. Just keepin’ it real y’all. I also hope to gain healthy habits for life. I hope to lose weight and this yo-yo relationship I’ve had with food for most of my life.  I’m very thankful for this Made to Crave study and even more thankful for you who are doing it with me! Merry Christmas to all my MTC OBS friends!

  10. Sonja Bisgaard says:

I signed up with some of my other ladies from our “Made to Crave” study we just finished. We didn’t want to be “done”, we just wanted to continue to grow & learn & be connected with other ladies that had the same goals.

  11. I did the MTC study in 2011 and lost 30 # and got to my goal. I kept it off for 6 months and then slowly got back into eating foods that were not beneficial. I have gained between 9 and 13 pounds. I am so ready to get back into it and crave God and only God!!! Christmas is so hard for me with all the sugar, cookies, candy and all the food. I am praying that this time I will get back to my goal and keep it off. Only with God’s help and by obedience! Lysa is so real and so down to earth and I can totally relate to her. I thank God for her. And thank you Melissa for doing this study – Perfect timing!!! God Bless and Merry Christmas!

  12. Debbie Watson says:

Debbie Watson, Birmingham, Alabama. I’m relatively new to the Proverbs 31 Ministry. I have heard about this book for awhile and for sure I need to crave Jesus more than what’s in my refrigerator or pantry. Looking forward to this study/experience.

  14. Heather Allen says:

Hello, I am Heather in Roanoke, VA. I have always been larger than others…and food was often the comfort i sought out as a child. Now that I older I have learned to deal with the craving in other ways, but still not seeking the One who can quench the thirst. i have a close relationship with God, but I seek to be drawn closer and let my craving be for Him alone.

    • Noelle McCusker says:

Hi, Heather! I’m from the Lynchburg area. Glad to have you here. It will be exciting to see how God changes our desires as we draw closer to Him.

  16. Hi everyone! My name is Lindsay, from Iowa, and I’m super excited for this study! I’ve actually already read the book but this time I’m reading it with a group of girls, so I’m hoping that by doing it together, we can challenge and support each other.

  17. Hi my name is Karen and I live in Austin, Texas. I am really looking forward to this OBS as it is my first time. My younger sister suggested it so I decided to give it a try. I hope that this OBS will help me to establish positive ways to approach my horrible eating habits while at the same time helping me to lean/crave God. I love God and I want to be completely reliant on Him. So excited!!

    • Denise from Texas says:

Hello, fellow Texan! Welcome to the OBS community! I have done a few studies and I have really enjoyed it. I pray that God will do wonderful things for you through this study!

      • Hello Denise and Karen! I am from Texas as well. I am located about 2 hours southwest of San Antonio. I have read Made to Crave already and loved it, and am looking forward to really digging deeper into it. God bless!

    • Evonne Boggs says:

Hi Karen – I live in the Austin area too. We live on Highland Lakes Camp and Conference Center on Lake Travis!
      http://www.highlandlakescamp.org
I look forward to doing this study with you!

    • How funny, I’m Karen and I live in Austin, TX, too!

My goal for 2014 is to improve my family’s nutrition. Doing that, I know, starts with me, as an example. What better motivation to eat healthier than an opportunity to strengthen my connection to my Creator at the same time! I’m so excited!

  18. Hi! My name is Angel. I live in Northern California. I bought the Made to Crave book over a year ago. I started reading it at least twice. This time I am committing to completing the book and the bible study. I hope to gain a deeper relationship and dependence on God and healthy habits that will allow me to lose weight.

  19. My name is Brenda and I live in Ocala, Florida. This is my second time studying Made To Crave. The first time was with my church Ladies Bible Study. So my book is already written in and hi-lighted. It will be interesting to see what new bits of wisdom I will be able to gleen from it this time. Can’t wait to get started.

  20. Hi. I’m Nancy and I live in very cold Eastern Oregon. I love the PS31 studies and am really looking forward to this one. The life changes that have occurred over the past few years have finally lead to a peace and hints of future joy. Unfortunately, I’ve picked up some horrible eating habits along the way! I hope to get better habits, drop these new pounds and inches, and get into a deeper relationship with the Lord. I’m also hopeful that I can get back into my old FB group or get into a new one. I’m really looking forward to the new year and this new study.

  21. Hi there! I’m Janee! Currently from Michigan but in the process of moving to unknown lands. I love MTC and pray that this time I apply the lessons I learn and not just fill my head with more knowledge.

  22. My name is Pat. I live in Conyers, GA.
I plan to lose weight. Just having a support team and learning together, is going to be awesome.
To “gain” confidence in myself during this time as well.
Looking forward to the study. THANKS!!!

    • jean buist says:

Hi Pat, I too am from Georgia. Monroe just outside of Athens. Looking forward to doing the study with you as well as with our leaders and all of our OBS sisters. This is my second Proverbs 31 study. Want to replace the food in my life with Craving God’s Word. Together as a team here we can accomplish that, especially with Christ as our guide. Have a Blessed Christmas, and we will catch up in January.

  23. Hi my name is Amy, and I’m in Commercial Point, Ohio. I have invited several ladies! One of my oldest friends (since 5th grade) is joining me. We both have been through some health problems related to food – she has gluten problem and I got some unknown bug that actually still continues to mess up my system. For me, the health problem actually made me lose 60 lbs cause I could eat maybe a banana and a piece of toast for the day. For weeks and months it went on. I decided to do Made to Crave as a result of that illness – because I realized how much I depended on food for emotional comfort once it was taken away from me, and I also realized how much of my thought life and social life food monopolized. I felt like I lost my best friend when I couldn’t eat. So obviously, my food addiction had some preeminence in my life and I want to change that. I’d also still like to lose 40 pounds and be my closer to my wedding night weight (which was 23 years ago)! I also mostly want to do the study so I seek comfort from Jesus and not my food.

    • Janet Kramer says:

      Hi Amy
I’m from Fremont Ohio. I’m hoping to quit using food for comfort and shed some pounds to start walking since my total knee replacement. Your illness sounds very serious. I hope you feel God’s healing touch.

  24. My name is Rachel. I’m a wife and mom to a precious two year old little girl named Molly and I teach 4th grade. I’m excited to start this journey…again. My relationship with food is one I’ve been dealing with most of my life so I’d love some support and encouragement on this new path to crave a strong relationship with God instead of food.

  25. Hello! I’m Amanda and I live in Monrovia, IN. I’m looking forward to this study because I’ve read the book before but I guess it didn’t stick because I went back to my old ways of eating. =( Looking forward to searching God’s word with other ladies and digging deep so maybe this time I can make a true heart change. Thanks in advance for this study! I know God will change me through it!

    • Denise from Texas says:

Hey, Amanda! Don’t lose heart. You will find that doing this study through the OBS will give you a whole new experience! I am looking forward to it, and believing that God will do amazing things through it!

  26. Kim Riddle says:

My first OBS was A Confident Heart! That study opened so many doors for me and as a result I know without a doubt that my God loves me and will NEVER fail me! Now made to crave, I cannot wait! I am expecting and believing for an even closer walk with God, new beginnings for a new year, and not to mention just being a part of something where other woman know exactly how you are feeling is simply amazing! The work you ladies do is such an incredible thing to be a part of! And my church is actually doing this one as a group! So I get the benefits of you all and my favorite church girls! Win Win
Love, Hugs, and Prayers from good ole Ripley WV!!!!!!

  27. My name is Beth, I live in Indiana. This is my first time reading Made to Crave and participating in an online Bible study. I’m hoping to gain a closer relationship with the Lord and lose the shameful cycle of binge eating and the toll it takes on my body and my spirit.

    • Denise from Texas says:

Hi, Beth! Welcome to the Online Bible Study world! It has been a great resource in my walk with Christ, and I am sure you will find it to be the same for you!

  28. I’m from Lincoln, NE. I’ve been divorced for a year and a half. I ate my way through the divorce. From June 1, 2013, to now, I’ve lost 25 pounds. My goal is to lose another 20 pounds by June 1, 2014. My involvement at church has increased over the last year and it shows in my relationships. I participated in What Happens When Women Say Yes to God OBS and am looking forward to another OBS.

    • Denise from Texas says:

Way to go, Jennifer! It sounds like you are making some great changes in your life, and I pray that this study will only add greater things to that list!

  29. Amma Bilson-Ogoe says:

Hello,My name is Amma Bilson-Ogoe, I live in London UK. Food has always been an issue in my life. I grew up in my aunt’s house and even though I did the cooking,i was made to eat leftovers or not very nice food. I came to the UK in 1989 and the ability and freedom to buy what I wanted to eat just makes me mad. I am obsessed with filling all my cupboards with food. This is my third OBS and I have gradually learnt that having filled cupboards etc is will not satisfy that emptiness in me. I am overweight and will like to lose weight as well as grow in the knowledge that God can fill that emptiness in my life.

  30. Denise from Texas says:

My name is Denise and I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas. I am excited about the MTC online bible study. I hope to gain a plan for increasing my desire to seek out God where I am currently leaning to other things. When I mentioned Lysa’s name to a friend, she exclaimed the changes this particular book had made in her life. I am looking forward to seeing what kind of change God will make in me through this study. Thank you, ladies at the OBS. You are such an encouragement!

    • Hi Denise! I’m also from the Dallas Metroplex — Plano. A long-time precious friend invited me to share this study with her (only my second online Bible study), and I’m so excited. After dealing with severe back issues for the past 18 months (including back surgery in Dec. 2012), I had lap band surgery Nov. 14th to further relieve additional back pain and hopefully avert another back surgery — this at the recommendation of my back surgeon!! I’m excited about MTC because it comes at the perfect time in my life. I have a strong relationship with God but now have to learn a whole new way of eating. Our Lord is so faithful to lead us to where we need to be at exactly the right times, and here again, He has done that for me!!! What a blessing to know He cares so much for me!!! It’s been fun to read where everyone is from, and to see some people from our area!!! I haven’t received my book yet, but am looking forward to its arrival so I can delve in right away!!! Blessings to everyone this Christmas — may you all feel the sweet presence of the Christ child in everything you do, and may the Holy Spirit direct every breath you take as we honor the one, true, glorious, Almighty God!!!

  31. Tania McPherson says:

Hi everyone, I’m Tania from Mobile, Alabama and am excited about this study! I’ve worked through this before in a bible study with my church. We also collectively changed our eating habits during that time, and gained more of Jesus and lost weight. It was a real win/win, but over the years since then, I’ve found myself drifting back into old habits. When I saw this OBS I didn’t think twice; I look forward to a renewed deeper relationship with Christ.

  32. Excited to begin this new journey in my life. I just arrived home from 2 weeks in Israel. My heart and mind are open and ready to be fed!

  33. I am 44 yr old mother of 2 children – Annika 12 yrs old and Dane 8 yrs old. Wonderful husband Curt. We both struggle with being overweight. I know that I can’t come close to being the person God wants me to be while I am overweight, tired all the time, and grouchy. I want to be a great example to my family. I know deep down that this is the only way to change my life by truly walking with and relying on God for everything. So thank ful for this study!

  34. Patti Goodale says:

My name is Patti Goodale and I’m from Wichita, KS. The desire of my heart is to crave Jesus more than food. I’m so tired of this yo-yo experience triggered by major life events, etc. I know this journey is tough (been on it a very long time) & I know I can’t do this alone. Looking forward to being a part of this community on line!

  35. My name is Jeanne and I am from Palatine, IL. I am really ready for Made to Crave to help me! 40. Hi: I’m Sharon from Burton, Michigan. I’m pretty eager for MTC OBS to begin. I’m looking forward to having healthier eating habits starting in 2014. Cannot wait to get going with this and be back with my group #58 gals.

  41. I have the made to crave action plan and I am waiting, due to weather, for the first book. I need both. I am from British Columbia Canada eh;)
I really need this change in focus, to take away a craving in Christ instead off in food, which I do go to in stress and worry and… You all know the drill.I have been wanting a strong passion in Christ for a long time and it is growing through these studies. Because I home school it had been harder to get to a Bible study at a Church so this is great. I can do it when the time allows and join in on a group. I hope also to lose the last 30 pounds that I gained while pregnant with my last child.(I gained 60) I have struggled sine high school with weight, lost all I needed about 10 years ago then gained it back 3+ years ago. It was always focused on weight and inches, this will be the right way to focus on God. Can’t wait, probablyly start earl, already looking at action plan which is excellent.yeah!!! God for a plan.

    • I homeschool too:) I also am struggling to lose that last 30 lbs. I will lose 10 gain back 6 and so on. Nice to meet you!

  42. Hello, my name is Juanita. I live in Spartanburg, SC. I am really looking forward to this study. I have a desire to grow in my relationship with God and crave him more than anything! I know he’s the best thing I could be addicted to! I look forward to all that God will reveal to me through this study, the good, bad, and ugly. I want to lose weight permanently and not just temporarily. I’m so glad I’m not alone on this journey. Be blessed and Merry Christmas!

  43. My name is Jennifer and I live in Anthem, AZ. I’m looking forward to ditching the yo-yo of the scale and craving God and God alone.

  44. My name is Kerri and I live in Houston, TX. I bought Made To Crave at the WOF conference in Dallas this year but just didn’t have the motivation to go through it alone. Thank you P31 for this online bible study. I am excited to make changes in my life, especially with craving food. I can’t wait!!!

  45. I’m so excited to finally be reading this book and can’t wait to take this journey with P31 OBS!! What I hope to lose – my craving for foods that are destroying my health and the 30 extra lbs that I’m carrying around as a result of them for starters! What I hope to gain – satisfaction in Christ and Christ alone – one that moves me away from false fillers and into a deeper relationship with God…not to mention all the relationships with God-filled woman we’re all going to make here!!! Can’t wait to say goodbye to emotional eating once and for all and hello to my “old” but “new” self again :)

  46. Laura Stearns says:

My name is Laura and I am looking forward to sharing this journey with other Christian women and learning from them. I also want to end this love-hate relationship I have with food, lose weight for good, develop better eating habits, and refuse to walk in the sin of over-eating. I want to crave Him above everything else in life!

  47. Hi! My name is Deje and I live in my hometown of DeWitt, IA. I am excited to be a part of MTC! I want to turn to God’s Word instead of food when I am stressed. I want to develop my relationship with him so I crave him 24/7 more than anything else in the world! I also know that I am not perfect and there will still be times that food will be my comfort, but hopefully it will be along with God’s Word. Merry Christmas to my fellow OBS sisters!

  48. Hi! I am Melanie–I live in South Dakota and am really excited to being this journey. It is my hope to create more of a relationship with God, but also to encourage a healthy relationship with myself and my food choices.

    • Hi, Melanie –
I am a South Dakotan (born and raised — Black Hills area). I, too, am excited to beginning this journey … I have been a Christian my whole adult life but I, too, hope to create a deeper relationship with God and learn to desire more of Him and less of me. I know I use to use food as a “crutch” and perhaps I still do (just not to the degree I once did). It is my prayer that I will gain a deeper understanding of how much God loves and cares for me and drop some of the excess weight I am carrying around :)

  49. I’m joining this study because I acknowledge that God loves me, that my body is His temple and that what we put into our body affects our thinking, our feelings, and our emotions. I’m doing this to place some leverage and stack the odds in my favor as God intended. I want to eat light so that I can hear the voice of God with more clarity. I want to replace running to food in times of anxiety and uncertainty. I look forward to meeting people and growing as a person. To God alone be the glory!!!

  50. Andrea Runyon says:

Hello ladies- my name is Andrea and I feel so very blessed to be joining in on this study because I will be doing alone here at home. I have gone through Made To Crave once with a group of ladies at a previous church and have now lost 114 pounds over the past 2 1/2 years. I am now working on losing that last little bit as well as learning the art of “maintaining my weight loss”. The Lord has been so gracious to me through His gentle and sometimes firm discipline. Praise the Lord and thank you for offering this study again online!

    • Congratulations on your great weight loss. I face the daunting task of losing that much, or more, as well. I hope to learn to break it down into manageable tasks. I know that if I just “do the right things” every day, that eventually I will get there. But looking at the big picture before me is definitely scary and sometimes very overwhelming! Any suggestions???

  51. Leslie Cardona says:

Just wanna say thanks to Lysa and the ladies of P31 for doing this for us all. What I hope to gain is a deeper relationship with God and to grow in Him which I hop will lead me to be healthy spiritually, emotionally & physically. What I hope to lose (besides weight) is a negative self image and mindsets that sabotage my life line battle with weight. Merry Christmas to all! God Bless & See ya in 2014 ~_~.

  52. Hi. My name is Merry, from Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada and this is my third online study. With this study I hope to break a bondage of protection of food from being abused. From being told that I would be as big as my grandmother. That is a force to be broken also. I want from this study to find the pouring down of God’s love on me. To feel the awe and wonder of healing from all that is holding me, from bondage, to be free. I want the joy and peace that is in Christ to flow through me. I want to win the battle with him. In Jesus name Amen.
In this Joy I want to know with out a doubt that nothing is impossible for God.

  53. My name is Lisa. I live in Pittsburgh, PA. I’m looking forward to this study and a healthier me – both physically and spiritually. I want to crave God above all other things! Have a blessed Christmas season! “Delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart!” Psalm 37:4

  54. Janice Wagner says:

My name is Janice and I live in Gardner, Kansas (a suburb of Kansas City). Just when I didn’t think my life could get any crazier, my husband of 40 years passed away very suddenly. So I am not only dealing with my eating issues but many others as well. I actually just went through the MTC with a local group but found God was dealing with me in several different areas. While I’m making better food choices most of the time, I felt God telling me I needed to continue on with the study. I am praying that by starting all over with MTC P31 OBS, that God will not only continue to heal my heart in these other areas but that I will also be more driven to deal with my eating issues as well. I believe that all of this will come about in God’s timing…it’s just a matter of working through my issues and learning to lean more on Him and less on myself.

    • Noelle McCusker says:

Janice, so glad that you are part of this study as well. Praying that God will continue to work and lead through the hard times…God has not brought you this far to leave you. He will accomplish what He desires to see in you :)

  55. Hi! I’m Jeri. And I am addicted to sugar; always have been. I started my own weight loss group last year and lost 30 pounds. I have 3 little crazy, rambunctious boys, 5, 3, and 2. I love the Lord and am excited to learn how to best use my weakness and his strength to grow ever closer to him. Thanks for the opportunity to study along with you ladies. Online bible study is a first for me. Excited to see how it goes. Thanks.

  56. My name is Kiffany and I live in St. David, AZ. This study sounds like just what I have been looking for. I hope to exchange my craving for bad eating habits for good relationship habits with God. I know I need to lose weight and I know I need to change my eating habits for my health. Which, in my heart, I know only God can lead me in that direction. I pray this study will help with my focus on all of this.

  57. Sharla Barnes says:

My name is Sharla Barnes and I am from Missouri. I am constantly amazed at our loving Lord Jesus. He has an amazing plan for each of us and to be a grain of sand in His plan is an honor. I purchased the “A Confident Heart” and “Unglued” books this last Summer, which led me to Proverbs 31 OBS. I joined the OBS “What Happens When Women Say Yes to God and was amazed in so many ways. It was a total confirmation to what I felt like God was leading me to do. Then I joined the “A Confident Heart” study and was able to apply it to my life and do what God has called me to do and BE with a new confidence. I can hardly wait to see what God is going to do in “Made to Crave.” It gives me those “Jesus bumps” to even type it. I am so humbled at how God has lead me to the do each of these studies at just the right time in my life. I am ready to take the next step and align my physical body to the Word of God. I want to gain more of Jesus and lose more of me.

  58. Hey! I’m Moriah and I live in a teeny tinny little town – we’re talking not even a stop sign through town – called Palmer Lake that’s nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. I’m excited to be a part of M2C and am looking forward to going deeper in my relationship with Jesus as I learn to crave Him first and foremost. Also excited about growing closer to my OBS sisters. Merry Christmas :)

  60. Hello! I am Brenda from Eaton, Ohio. My desire for this study is to get a deeper relationship with God. Also to get a better picture of who I am in Gods eyes, and if weight comes off in the meantime, it will be like icing on the cake! Well not a good thing to say going into this study! :) I am so excited to get started. I did this study once and loved it. Can’t wait to see what God has in store! God bless everyone efforts for helping us all out!

  63. Noelle McCusker says:

I’m Noelle from Lynchburg, VA! I have had the MTC book for a couple of years, but haven’t finished reading it. I LOVE what I have read and it makes complete sense that we were made to crave Him! Picked up the devotional earlier this year as well, so am really looking for ward to what He is going to do in me. I greatly desire to crave Him instead of all the junk that may satisfy for a short time, but doesn’t last. Praying He fills and satisfies each one of us that hunger and thirst after righteousness! Btw, this is my first OBS :)

I hope to learn to refocus my cravings to God’s Word and His promises and to find a deeper relationship with Him. I have already lost 80 pounds, but have many more to go. It is the craving for flavors and textures that most bogs me down. I pray that the sweetness of God’s presence will begin to satisfy those cravings for me as we work through the study.

Thanks for offering this study. I have already invited two friends to take this journey with us. I’m looking forward to getting started.

    With a thankful heart,

    Sherri

I look forward to growing my relationship with Jesus and learning to depend more on him. I want to become more healthy for my family. My husband is diabetic and quite over weight. His doctor wants him to have bypass surgury and I don’t want him to have it. I hope to be able to make us both more healthy physically and spiritually.

  68. Sue Shockley says:

HI, I am Sue Shockley from New Haven, Missouri. I did the Say Yes to God study and then did not sign up again and I found myself feeling distant from God and knew that I need to reconnect with the Lord and get some support and encouragement from others who are doing the same. I hope to connect with some fun ladies and have my heart convicted with a true craving for a sweet relationship with God.

  69. Denise Shannon says:

My name is Denise and I live in Westminster, CO. I have spent the past year being more intentional in my relationship with God and I look forward to continuing in that and going deeper. Looking forward to the New Year and all of the possibilities that God has for all of us!

  70. Tammy Smith says:

Hi! My name is Tammy. I live in Northeast Georgia. Born and raised in the same town I call home. I was raised in church, went to all the functions but never had that close relationship with God. Instead of turning to God for comfort I turned to food. I lost 100 pounds about 3 years ago. But gradually gained it all back. I see people at church and think; I wish I had that type of relationship with God. I believe this bible study will help me draw closer to him. I’m so tired of feeling tired. I want a close walk with him.

    • Sandy Weber says:

Tammy, I live in Braselton, also in Northeast Georgia. I will be praying that your relationship with the Lord grows very strong and continues for life. You can do it….open your heart and ask God to draw you closer..He will ! Ask Him to open your eyes and ears to see and hear Him…He will ! Spend some quiet time with only you and your Bible … He will come to you! Hang in there and keep praying!

  71. Sarah Heaston says:

I’d like to gain the tools to stop turning to food for comfort or whatever else it is I’m looking for… I’d like to become more God-focused and learn to be more content with my lot in life ~
I know I need to start taking better care of God’s temple, especially if I want to be physically able in my later years to serve His purposes. Looking forward to growing in this Great New Year !
Praying for all of us participating and our OBS team!
    Suzanne

  74. I’m Phyllis from TN. I’ve signed up for this study with the hope that it will both help me lose some weight, but also recalibrate my thinking. I love food and have an insatiable sweet tooth. I need to change my mindset from “living to eat” to “eating to live.” I am hopeful that the added support of the OBS community will give me the accountability and sounding board I need to work through this change.

  75. Hi, my name is Angie Diemer. Coming from the 4 season state of Michigan, Go Spartans ( little Rose Bowl shout out). I am very excited about this study. I actually read the book last summer but kinda chalked it up as good wisdom that I gained. My weight has been an issue but the bigger issue was how I perceived myself. I love how God sets things up!! I get injured which eliminates any form of exercise (which was like an idol to me, ouch). Stumbles upon “What happens when women say yes to God”, into “A Confident Heart” and now “Made to Crave”, again. This time reading will be different cause He has been changing my heart, then mind and now my health. I dont think I would have ever been happy with what I looked liked until I got my heart and mind on the right course. I started weight watchers about 6 weeks ago. I know this study will change me, renew me, give me the support of such wonderful friends. I am extactic about it!!!!! Much love and praying for all of us on this new adventure!

  76. My name is Heather and I’m from a little blip on the map in South Western Ontario, Canada. I am married to a dairy farmer and live a somewhat busy lifestyle with our three kids – 6, 4.5, and 3.5. I lost over 40 pounds after my youngest was born (thanks to a wedding happening six months after her birth). However, a good portion of it has come back. I have read the book already, have the dvd AND the devotional.. you’d think I’d have this all figured out? Nope! Looking forward to an extra bit of help and encouragement and most of all, growing in my faith! Crave God not Food!

    • Hi, Heather! I, too, have the book, the DVD, and the devotional… and I don’t have it all figured out yet, either! So, here’s praying that we will both get the help and encouragement we need to get it all together!

    • Heather! Where in SW Ontario are you from? I’m from the KW/Stratford area in a small town as well. And my family is in the dairy industry as well! Small world!

  77. Hi! I’m Beckey in western NC. Proud wife, mother of two, grandmother of one. I am happy to be joining the M2C Bible study. I hope to learn to lean on God rather than calm my stress with food. And to treat my body with the respect and care His instrument deserves.

  80. Sandy Weber says:

My name is Sandy. I am from Braselton, GA. I am looking forward to craving God and all the things of God. I began a program a year ago and lost a good deal of weight and have not gained it back. I learned to eat healthy and that has truly helped. I still turn to food and have not done any exercising which is part of healthy living. Through this study I hope to get on track and turn to God so that everything else will fall into place.

  81. Hi! I’m Kim and I live in the Memphis area. I have struggled with my weight my whole life, but managed to get it under control for the most part. We recently adopted two children and I’ve been diagnosed with post-adoption depression. Although I keep praying, I feel like I’ve lost the spark and joy that I once had and find myself cramming everything edible into my face. I am really looking forward to this Bible study as a way to ignite a passion for the Lord like I’ve never felt before. Can’t wait to get started! Merry Christmas!

  82. Hi –
I am Janet, from California. I am hoping to dig deeper into my relationship with Jesus, and loose weight!! 6 years ago, I lost my 20-year-old son to an accidental drug overdose. 6 months after his death, my youngest son dove into drug use as a way to “cope” with his pain. God has held me and comforted me when no one else could. His love and His promises have brought me to a level of faith I never imagined. I am ready to dig even deeper, and lose the 25-plus pounds I have gained during the last 6 years. IT”S TIME!!! P.S. My younger son has almost 7 months of sobriety, and is slowly but surely coming back to faith :)

  83. Good morning! My name is Debbie. I presently live in Auburn, WA but am hoping to transfer to a new job soon. I am 60 years old with 7 grandchildren. I am hoping to “lose” this defeatist attitude I have and “feed” my craving for God, His Word, His Purpose for my life. I do not want to be this size anymore! It is affecting my health, much less my self esteem. I have done this study before at a church. It is awesome. I am going to renew my commitment to God and this temple. Hallelujah!

  84. Hi! My name is Shelly and I am from Michigan. I am so thankful that God has blessed me with this Made to Crave study. I am hoping to lose some weight and yet gain a stronger relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May you ladies find peace and comfort during this Christmas season. 1 Cor 10:31

  85. Teri Hurley says:

I did this study with a church group once and it helped so much, I want to do it again! I am looking forward to the encouragement that it gives and gave me back then to motivate me to look to Jesus instead of food once again! Thank you so much for this study!

  86. My name is Terri, and I live in Richmond, MO. I am hoping to strengthen my relationship with God and weaken my relationship with food. I want to learn to turn to God instead of food when I feel sad, scared, happy…..yep, I’m an emotional eater. I have gained weight and had a hard time since my dad passed away in August of 2012. I just need to get healthy – both emotionally & physially. I have a 2 1/2 year old grandson who is the light of my life and I want to be able to keep up with him! Looking forward to taking this journey with all of you!

    • Jeanie Kelley says:

Welcome Terri to the Made to Crave study. I am Jeanie Kelley and from St. Louis. May you and yours have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy new Year.

  87. Sandi MacKenzie says:

I am truly excited about this study!! I have had the book for quite awhile and have made only through the first chapter. I knew I wasn’t ready. I knew I didn’t have the support I needed to go through this. Now is the time. An opportunity to grow closer to my Saviour and to crave Him more than anything else!! I have struggled with the food issue for years. I am now at my highest weight and I am scared to death. God is so much bigger than my weight problem. I know that the time is now to allow Him to help me through this and to draw closer to Him and to crave Him more!! Thank you for the work, the time, and effort you are putting into this for all of us. It is much appreciated and I look forward to starting soon!!

  88. I want to deepen my relationship with God and crave Him when things get hectic and crazy instead of some sugary carb. I want to eat healthy for my body and quit turning to food for my emotions.

  90. Hi! My name is Teresa. I just moved to Oregon from Minnesota less than 6 months ago and I found a WONDERFUL church family right away! Merry Christmas and Countless Blessings to you in The New Year!
    Teresa

  91. Hi my name is Erika and I live in Iowa. I’m a stay at home mom and have 4 boys. A question came up at our local moms group that really made me stop and think. 93. Really excited to try your program. Can’t wait.

  94. My name is Robin from Missouri. I hope to gain a deeper more intimate relationship with God and hopefully gain some new healthy eating habits. It’s so easy and convenient to turn to food instead of Him when dealing with emotions. I really want to get away from that and turn to Him instead.

I was asking for friends to support me in this journey and received the email about this online study. So am excited for a great time.

  96. Amy Wilson says:

Hi! My name is Amy and I’m from Kearney, MO. We did made to crave this past summer at our church. And I didn’t want it to end. I need the support. I pray it takes such deep root this time! Roots were planted but I don’t have a green thumb…..so they need some care. I can’t wait for M2C to start. I have been through alot of major life changes. And food and tv have been my escape! I am looking forward to tending the roots and the plant growing so large and bushy that it takes over!

    • I’m from Kearney, MO too.

      • Jeanie Kelley says:

Jerri, welcome to the study. I am Jeanie Kelley and from St. Louis. Is Kearney near KC or St. Louis or is it down around Springfield? Praying for you to have a wonderful Christmas and a bright new year. Blessings.

  98. Emalee Grant says:

Hi! My name is Emalee and I’m from Phoenix, AZ. I am hoping to develop a healthier relationship with both God and food. I have struggled with turning to food for emotional comfort my entire adult life, and I have lately been very convicted about this behavior. I would like to develop healthier eating habits, and hopefully get to a weight where I can once again feel confident and beautiful. I feel God has been preparing me for this study for a while and really has plans for me, and I can’t wait to dive in. I am ready for some soul-remodeling!

  99. Hello everyone! My name is Beth and I reside in the great state of Texas! We are farmers southwest of San Antonio. I actually was born and raised in Minnesota so I consider myself a half northern girl and half southern girl! I am really looking forward to this study! I can relate SO MUCH to it; I love food and love eating! Ugh. ;)
One question I do have that I hope someone can answer is how do I get set up with a small Facebook group? I think, for me, that would be a good way to stay on track with the study. Enlighten this girl!!! :)

  100. Cathi Wilson says:

  101. Barbara Robbins says:

Hi, my name is Barbara. I live in Houston, Texas, with my husband, daughter, son (who is totally disabled and bed bound) and mother-in-law (who has advanced Alzheimer’s). As you can imagine, much of my time is occupied with caregiving.

I’ve had a long time problem managing my weight, and I know that this is an area of my life where God is not in control. My desire is for that to change. Because of our circumstances, I’m unable to attend Bible studies at our church, so I was grateful to find the online Made to Crave Bible study.

  102. Susan Magruder says:

My name is Susan and I’ve been relying on Starbucks to comfort me to the tune of $30 plus a week for a really long time. The guilt has been crazy for a long time but I can rationalize the heck out of anything! If it was right I don’t think the guilt would keep popping up. Convinced that once the crazy sugar is eliminated I’ll reach goal too!

  103. Emalee Grant says:

I do have a question – my local Christian book store is going to have Lysa’s Craving God devotional on sale after Christmas. Would this be a good companion to this study? Or will the devotional material be provided already?? Anyone know?

    • Jeanie Kelley says:

Emalee, Go ahead and get it. I have the Made to Crave book as well as the devotional from the book. The devotionals are always good to have then you can use that in a quiet time. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and welcome to the study.

But when they announce Made To Crave I knew this was for me. I have always battled my weight. Now with Type 2 Diabetes, Stage 3 Kidney disease and everything that goes with that. Sleep Apnea, High Blood pressure, Arthritis and more. I am so ready to start this new path in my life. In fact this is an answered prayer.

A friend bought a copy of the book for me as a surprise and it was the participant’s study guide, then the email came that this was being offered, and I felt called that I just HAD to do the study now. Looking forward to meeting new friends and experiencing all He has to offer.

  109. Hi ladies! I’m Stacy, a 35 year old mom of 2 and a high school teacher. My son is 3 and keeps me on my toes and my daughter was born in July. I’m truly blessed. I was an athlete all throughout my life and then injured my back, had 2 babies and now am having trouble getting myself back disciplined and healthy. I also want to put God FIRST and learn to crave him and make time for him every day. This will be my first study with OBS but not my first P31 one! I hope to learn a lot through the book (which I’ve owned for 2 years but yet to finish!) and learn from all of you! Merry Christmas!

  110. Hey ! This is Donna from the Chicago area.
I’m so looking forward to seek and grow more in Jesus … I know more of Jesus and less of me, will bring victory and perfect fulfillment in the many areas I struggle in, one being weight. Another area is in doubting his great plan for my life.

Since doing the studies with P 31, I sense a deeper commitment and desire for Jesus so he will work out he plans as I surrender to his will and not to my flesh!!!!
Please join us as we begin this new year with ladies who desire to grow in Christ …. You won’t regret the time spent !!!

I’m excited to see where God will take me in this journey and where he will take the new friends I make in this as well. I want to crave God more and be as close to him as I can! I am also excited to see how much weight I’ll lose. I’ve already began my workout journey for getting in shape and it’s going well so far!

  113. Hi, I’m Liz from St. Paul, MN. I am a stay-at-home mom to a 17 month old son and am expecting baby boy #2 due at the end of March. I’ve battled emotional eating all my life and have seen the scale go up and down countless times. I’m really realizing now, for the first time, how little this issue has to do with what I eat as much as it does with why. I want to shift my focus from food, weight, and my outward appearance and set my sights on things above, gaining my true sense of worth and fulfillment from God alone. I need to kick my black and white thinking, ditch dieting for good, and find victory in Him, once and for all. Looking forward to seeing what God does in me through this study!

  114. My name is Desirae. I have been married for 15 years with two children; a daughter 15 soon to be 16 and a 9 year old son. I am a special education teacher of 11 years. I love to read and eat. Most importantly, I love God and have for the past year been really thirsty for the Word. I have been part of a couple studies online and am looking forward to this one. I have been trying for years to lose the weight, but hate the restrictions of diets. I am never a happy person when on a diet. I pray that this study not only continues to draw me closer to God, but also gives me a healthy enjoyable balance of eating and losing weight.

  115. I’m Amy. I live in Hanover, PA it’s been really cold here as of late. Counting down to Spring. I had to chuckle there at the one point when you said you forgot you were filming and ready to take notes. I can’t wait for this study. I hope to gain how God sees me and not myself. I’ve had 7 babies and the last one was very traumatic. emergency c section, turned into a hematoma, turned into more surgery and 2 months of bed rest. I have been in the 200 lbs. for too long. I look at food and think do I really need that or where is that chocolate chip cookie? I know we had some. So defeating. I am not in the best of health right now. I have had a heel spur since June. Now they think I have carportunal in my feet. I have to do nerve testing in January. I want to be healthy. merry Christmas and Happy New You in 2014……..

  116. Liz in Texas says:

I’ve always been a comfort eater, and am hoping to find myself craving God instead of goodies!

  117. Hi I’m Lorraine. I am fighting against what I am told is the “inevitable” weight gain in middle age (I just turned 50). I am depressed about how little it takes to gain weight and how much it takes to lose! Looking forward to getting my attitude and priorities straight with this online Bible study. PS Started reading the book and already love it!

    • PS I am a technical writer who unfortunately sits all day at a computer with two grown sons (23 & 21) and a very supportive and loving husband who has also recently committed himself to being healthier, spiritually, mentally and physically!

I saw there will be morning sessions and I would like to know if these sessions will be recorded for those who work and are not able to tune in at real time. I’m ready to go, got my book and now looking forward to the Made to Crave Journal coming out next
week. My heart is so hungry to totally surrender and be filled with the Lord’s Love. Always looking for help in getting me there and this looks like the right stuff. Thank you

    Blessings of God’s outrageous Love & Grace……………………

  119. Rosemary Stevens says:

Hi my name is Rosemary, and this will be my third study with Proverbs 31. The last two have been incredibly and I have taken so much away from them. My heart is confident, and I say Yes everyday to God, and I am so looking forward to learning how to stop craving food to fill the emptiness and letting God fill me up even more then he does now. God is so Good, and has been moving in my life since I began these studies, I am excited to see where this portion of my journey will take me.

  120. Rosemary Stevens says:

Sorry forgot to mention that I am from Maine.

  121. My name is Ashley I am 30 and I live in Tallahassee, FL. I have two beautiful daughters (5 & 7), work full time, and attend college full time. I was going through a rough beginning of life, but, got saved about 5 years ago. I always felt there was something missing in my soul before I was saved. I used many bad things to comfort me. I participated in the “A Confident Heart” bible study and am hooked. I hope to stop turning to food for comfort. I hope to make meaningful relationships with women who understand that life is not always perfect. The connect that I get through these studies is wonderful. I can’t wait!!

  122. Jana Nelson says:

Hi! I’m Jana and I’m from Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Yeah, I know… Jana from Indiana! I am excited and a little anxious about this journey with all of you. I’m praying that God will use this to not only end my binge eating, but to convict my heart.

  123. Hi! I’m Kimberli. I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart for 20 years. We have two teen boys and three dogs. -no the house is never completely clean!

I am ending my reign as Mrs. Oregon Plus America which God has used to help me accept my body and even try to love it. I have made great progress on this journey leaving body shaming behind. But I still need a more healthy relationship with food. I know my answer is God-I don’t even try diets. I am so excited to dive into a new leg of the journey and one that will put my focus back on Jesus.

  124. Hi. My name is Amy and I am from a little town of 5,500 in Northeastern Missouri. I am 46, mother of four grown children, two married girls and two son’s, still at home. My husband and I both work beyond full time and when working, I eat all three meals away from home. M2C is my fifth online Bible study. It has felt like coming home. I am a registered nurse and do not get to fellowship often so this is a wonderful venue for me.
I want to center on the Lord and learn better eating habits to counteract a life time of bad ones. Yes, I know all of the medical and technical and even psychological sides of diets. What I need is the spiritual side…the life change.

    • Jeanie Kelley says:

Welcome Amy. Where in Northeastern Missouri are you? I am in St. Louis and my name is Jeanie Kelley. Love this study. May you have a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year. Blessings.

  125. Hi, I’m Rebecca! I’m a wife and mother of 3 boys! I am a diet junkie!! I’ve dieted on and off for around 12 years and have pretty much failed them all! By doing this study I hope to gain a better relationship with God, develop healthier attitudes toward eating and weight loss, and free myself from the desire to diet and crave anything more than God!!

  126. Marlene~ OBS small group leader says:

I’m Marlene and live in South Arkansas. I am so looking forward to Made To Crave. I started preparing and reading the book a week or so ago, but put it down because I wasn’t ready to make the commitment to make the changes with all this Christmas candy in the house. I am hoping to learn to turn to God with my needs for comfort, satisfaction and everything else, instead of food. Ready to get off this roller coaster ride I have with food. So excited to get this new study started. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!!

  127. Hi everybody! My name is Karen, and I am from Maryland. I am 51 and single (never married). This is my third on-line Bible study and I really cannot wait for this one. I am hoping to become closer to the Lord and learn healthly eating habits. I am a yo-yo dieter and really want to stop this cycle. I have my “thinner” clothes and my “fatter” clothes and would love to get rid of the “fatter” clothes permenantly! I am hoping to get both out of this study!

  128. Hi! My name is Kathy and I live in Nevada. I am so looking forward to this study. I got in on the last study midway through, but was happy to find you. I want to begin this journey with an open heart and mind and pray that God will use this study to bring me closer to him and stop the excuses and traps I find myself in. I am praying that He will convict my heart and help me get off this Merry Go Around.

  129. Hello. My name is Christine. Made to Crave will be my 2nd OBS. Excited! I started with A Confident Heart and I was ‘changed’ with it. I’m hoping to get more from Made to Crave. Mommy of 3. Engaged to a wonderful man. Working my way through a shadowy past and onto a better future for my family.

  130. Hi, My name is Priscilla. From PA. Mother, grandma and great grandma. I will be 64 years old on the day this OBS starts January 19. How about that for God? It’s like he is saying I want you to be a better you physically, emotionally and spiritually on your next birthday. I have struggled with ups and downs with my weight all my life. Several weeks to a month ago, I got serious with God and told the Lord “I cannot do this without you” and a few weeks later just by “coincidence” saw this Made to Crave along the side of one of the online devotionals, that I read . Checked it out and decided to join the OBS. I am so scared to step out, but also excited to start on this new path. I am hoping to gain self control with my eating. Maybe to eat like a normal person and not “eat the whole thing” or feel like food is replacing my God. I want to serve only one God and it isn’t food. Have a Merry Christmas. Hope to get to know you all better, as we all join hearts and prayers(as the Bible says two are better than one because if one falls down the other can lift him up) to live a life of self control and glorify God in our bodies.

    • Laurel-Victory says:

Hi Priscilla, Maybe we can help each other get victory. I will be 66 in Feb. “Nothing is impossible with God.” More later. Laurel

  131. Forgot to mention I live in Gonzales, Louisiana!!!

  132. Hello! My name is Cheri and I live in SC. I am a retired teacher but now keep three of my four grandchildren while their parents work. I, too, have been a yo-yo dieter all of my life. I have done the Made to Crave Bible study before and it does work!! However, it is time to recharge and renew because I have been slipping lately :(

  133. Hi, my name is Deena and I live in the DFW area of Texas. I hope to gain a hunger that can only be satisfied by God. I want to crave His Word more and His heart. I’m glad I found this bible study and I know God will show me new things. Whenever I feel happy, stressed, tired, etc…I don’t want to open my mouth to put something in, but instead open it to bring something out: praise to the Almighty King. I do want to lose weight, but not without learning lasting lessons in the process and I know I will with this study and book.

  134. Cindy Uhrick says:

Cindy Uhrick, from Huntingburg, IN. I hope to grow closer in my relationship with God, so that on those rough days, I crave Him and being in His word instead of turning to food to make me feel better. Which of course we all know doesn’t really make me feel better it just adds on the pounds…. Can’t wait to get started on this study and a fresh new view in the new year to come….

  135. My name is Susan and I live in Paris, IL. I haven’t had much success on my own when attempting to lose weight. I am excited about having others to encourage and to encourage me. I have six children ranging from age 2 – 16 years. My weight has gone up and down during these years. I seem to be all in or all out. I want to honor God in all things. I am an emotional eater. I need to let God lead. I am hoping that this Bible study will help me do that. I am also excited to make some new friends out there:)

  136. Hi, my name is Nikki and I live in Oregon. I am looking forward to re-joining my OBS FB Small Group, digging into God’s Word and growing deeper in Him and with my sweet Jesus sisters. :)

  137. Hi ladies. My name is Pamela. I’m looking forward to getting involved in a Bible study. My life is so hectic that it seems I never have time for anything else. Online studies will be the perfect way for me to connect more with God and other women. I have 2 girls ages 4 and 18 months. I am a teacher’s aide at a local charter school. I am from a tiny town in Arizona. I’ve gone to church pretty much my whole life. I got closest to God when I was about 16, but started slowly drifting away a few years later. Now I am getting back to where I should be and want to be, and am working on making my relationship with God stronger than it ever has been. I’m excited for this to begin and get to know all of you!

    • Hi Pamela! I’m in Arizona too! Prescott to be exact. This is only my third OBS, but I have loved them so much! It has really been a huge blessing for me. I pray that God will continue to strengthen you as you take this study. God bless you!

      • Sorry I am just getting around to replying! It was hard to find the comment with all the others! Nice to see another Arizonan on here :) I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!

  138. My name is Mary, from Seneca Falls, NY. I’m looking forward to craving God more than food and developing that relationship through the study. I’m already on a diet plan, so to make my focus more on God rather than food is exciting. Also for tips and tricks to change the way I look at food and keeping it real in my life as a lifestyle change and committment. I’ve done a couple of these obs’s and appreciate all the work that goes into helping us ladies focus on godly living in every area of life.

  139. I am truly looking to produce “REAL” fruit, that only comes from the creator. For so long I have been going thru the motions with out 100% obedience. IT Has me broken and desiring more of GOD! This year was preparing me for this study, as God had me working on obedience. Well, now that i can put my needs aside to hear his needs I may grow deeper and even more obedient. Thank you ladies for making us your project and being obedient to server others. I am truly excited for this upcoming year and all that it will bring forth.

  140. My name is Melinda. I’m in Independence, MO. I mainly have one goal with this study: to finish reading this book. I’ve tried 3 times now and can’t seem to get very far. My second goal (but maybe more important) would be to get into the habit of drawing close to God again. I’m a homeschool mom of 2 girls, ages 8 and 14, so I’m busy busy busy.

And honestly, I hope to learn better healthier eating habits so I can lose weight. I’m tired of being fat.

    • Jeanie Kelley says:

Welcome Melinda. I am on the other side of the state in St. Louis. Welcome to the study. May you have a wonderful Christmas and a great new year.

  141. Hello y’all (had to copy Melissa :-). – My name is Mary Jo and I’m from snowy, WI. Merry Christmas by the way. Anyway, I am so in love with OBS. This will be number 3 for me and if this one is anything like the others I KNOW good things are coming! God is SOOOOOO among us here. I also have been in a small group ( Stacey Mendro’s group 64) and that has made all the difference. Real relationships…..real caring and prayer for one another.

P31, Melissa, Nicki and all the rest, a heartfelt THANK YOU for all you do to make OBS all it is for us. And of course, TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY because it’s all about Him and His AWESOME love for us!

Made To Crave, here I come. Praying His sweet blessings upon each of us.

    Mary Jo

  142. Reva Stone says:

Hi, My name is Reva and I live in Sedalia, MO. I’v been a yo-yo dieter since I was 15 and I will be 58 on January 15th. I’m ready to be healthier and happier. I hope to deepen my relationship with God and make new friends who love God and struggle with their weight. I am very thankful to this ministry for wanting to help all of us that may have given up on weight loss.

    • Jeanie Kelley says:

Hi Reva, Nice to have you here. I am Jeanie Kelley and I live in St. Louis. Welcome to the study. Blessings and a Merry Christmas.

  143. My name is Terri, and I am from the Chicago suburbs. This is my first bible study and a topic very important to me

  144. Hi my name is Carol. I live near Pittsburgh, PA. I’ve been an emotional yoyo dieter for the last 25 years and I want to stop this destructive behavior. I want to crave God and not food. I want to look in the mirror and love myself as much as God loves me. I want to strengthen my relationship with my Lord and Savior. I’ve read the book and the devotional last year. I’ve never done an on line Bible study before and am looking forward to it.

  145. Jeanie Kelley says:

Let’s see, I am Jeanie Kelley and I live in St. Louis Ellisville–West County to be exact. That is in Missouri. The one thing–the huge thing–I want to lose is the idea of having to go and get a snack every time I think I need one. I am also going to use this in way of my shopping. I want to let go some of that and become a saver more than a spender which would make my hubby happy. I can see where God is taking me on this journey and I think the book will help me get a fresh perspective on God and why he wants me to focus on him and not on food and shopping. I will shop maybe a little, but will try and not go over board. If this is kind of like making a resolution then this is my resolution for the year and to get back into aquatics as well. I want to begin being more healthy all the way around.

  146. Hi, I’m Amie from Orlando, FL. This will be the second time for MTC for me. I really enjoyed this book and I’m excited to read it again. Merry Christmas

  147. My name is Jen and I am from Nebraska. I hope to break my emotional eating habit and have the Lord draw me closer, as I go through this journey of breaking bad habits, face my fears, and let go of old familiar emotional partners.

  148. Christi Rudolph says:

Hi! I’m Christi. I’m from Missoula Montana. I’m a single, divorced mom with 2 kids. I’m hoping to gain a deeper relationship with God & gain a new perspective on letting God take control. I have a hard time with this!!! I’m excited to take this journey with each of you & if anyone is in the Missoula area wants to connect let me know. I’d love to connect with others outside of Missoula as well. I wish you each a joyous Merry Christmas. I’ll be praying for you all!!

  149. Felicia from Texas I can not wait for obstudy and to read the made to crave book again. Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year.

  150. Hi everyone. My name is Fiona and I live on a farm in Australia. I am a stay at home mum to 4 amazing children. A Confident Heart was my first online Bible study. I have since read two more P31 books and I can’t get enough! I love how the messages from all the books seem to weave together. Reading through all the introductions here makes me feel very blessed to be a part of something wonderful with women from all over the world. Thankyou, P31 ladies for putting this together. Merry Christmas to you all!

  151. Laurel-Victory says:

Hi everyone, I wish my name, Laurel, meaning victory, was true of my lifelong problem with overeating, especially sugar. God has been showing me that my overeating, craving, bingeing, and triggers are about my childhood. I am finding some success when I talk to my child inside of me and tell her that she is safe and that she can express whatever feelings she has and we will deal with them together. Looking forward to this study and getting to know all of you, Laurel

    • Wow, what a testimony. Im so sorry for whatever you have been through. Ill be praying for you and I hope we can grow together in this journey!

  152. Holly Bauman says:

  154. Hi everyone! This is my first time. I saw the link on my friend’s facebook, decided to check it out and thought..this is JUST WHAT I NEED! So I am very excited to do this! I have no idea what to expect and hope very much to take something away from this that will impact my life! Merry Christmas to you all, may peace and love fill your hearts! All the best in the New Year!! ~April

  155. Hi girls, I’m Mary from Ohio. I have all ready read this book once, but I feel myself slipping back into old habits. I’m so excited to take this journey with you all and study this book deeper. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

  156. I’m from Illinois and have eaten food for comfort my ENTIRE life. I lost weight many times and gained it back until the year I turned 50. I lost my mother, lost my job, and lost the weight and have now maintained it for 6 years. I exercise 5 days out of 7 because I never want to go back to fighting a weight gain. However when I’m upset, I want to turn to food and want to break that cycle. This is my 4th OBS and each one allowed me to feel closer to Jesus. Thank you OBS ladies!

Can anyone recommend a similar online Bible study for men? A friend of mine can not attend Bible Study at our church given his hours at work.

  157. Hi everyone! My name is Karen and I am from Grand Rapids, Michigan. I was recently diagnosed with Lyme disease and while once a fitness/health addict, I am no longer able to keep up an exercise routine. While this has been a long journey, God has shown me how I once placed the gym and food above Him. Not being able to exercise has shown me how unhealthy my relationship was with the gym and food. I hope to gain a healthy relationship with food, exercise, and finally accept myself for how God sees me and not how the world may see me. I hope to find fulfillment in God not in emotional eating or anxiety provoked exercise. I’m hopeful I will walk out of the Lyme diagnosis but want to walk in full health, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. No more running to food and the gym for comfort or approval, but running to God and God alone! Cheers to new beginnings! Have a Merry Christmas everyone!

  158. Hey! I’m Meghan. I’m from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, getting married in march 2014 and am a Children’s ministry director at my church. I’m so looking forward to this bible study because I use food instead of Christ as my source of comfort especially with the crazy life of ministry.

  159. Stephanie Mitchell says:

I am Stephanie Mitchell. 49, from Germantown, Maryland. Through this study I hope to gain the acceptance to NOT be perfect in my spiritual life and learn how to put God first in my life instead of turning to porn or extramarital affairs, when I feel unloved, under appreciated, or any of the other things I have believed that were told to me as I have grown up.

  160. Hello everyone! My name is Myra, I live in Prescott, AR. I hope to gain a lot through this study, things such as how to crave God more, how to stop filling up my life with “empty calories” and fill it with God. I hope to learn to lose a lot as well; fear, weight, and the desire for things other than God. I’m excited and nervous as I begin to prepare for this study. My life has been in turmoil for several years due to fractures in my marriage and losing a job and on and on I could go. I will make a more resolved effort to pray for each of you in this study that God will show us hot to crave Him more and fill us with a satisfaction that nothing can take away.

  161. I’m Molly from NW Indiana. I hope to stop sabotaging my desire to be the best person I can be. Does that make sense to anyone else??!? I am ready to be a bold, confident woman who takes charge of her spiritual, emotional, and physical health. Merry Christmas to everyone.

  162. Nancy Mingus says:

On December 16, Lysa posted as her status: “Let us commit to live with desperate dependence on God each and every day.” That is what I want my live to evolve into, that desperate dependence. I’m Nancy, a 50 y/o Granny & church secretary from Vancouver(ish) BC, & I finished reading M2C just a few days before the announcement of the OBS, which ends just a few days after we leave for a 2-wk tour of Israel (!). I’m now loving the 60-day M2C devo book. This Christmas season, I decided to give all the cookies, chocolates, & goodies to God. He has my caffeine, too (so I drink more water). I am loving the freedom that results from overcoming these strongholds, and even tho I’ve been down this weight-loss road before (w/ short-term successes), I am finding that the pull to the non-beneficial foods to be less & less. He is my strength, and I cannot wait to dive into the deep end of this study.

  163. Hi Everyone,
My name is Alison Bruce, I live in the Scottish Borders between Scotland and England. I recently had a mini stroke, a wake up call me thinks, I have been very lucky as I lost a beloved aunt in February to a massive stroke, there was no warning!!. I need to and want to change my habits i n order to be healthy, to try to fulfil Gods promises to me, I need to work at it and will need all of your support. I have only recently found this site and have already shared with friends as it is so inspirational. First and foremost I desire a closer relationship with God, but to become healthy and fit in the process would be a secondary but nonetheless importnant factor in order to have a closer walk with God. I look forward to getting to know you all and making new friends, I also hope I can be of use to any of you in whatever way our Lord deems appropriate, God Bless us all and a very happy and blessed Christmas to one and all, Alison xx

  164. Hi! I’m Jan from Lubbock, Texas. I am looking forward to strengthening my relationship with God as I learn to turn to Him as I become a healthier (and thinner) person.

  165. My name is Brenda. I live in Ontario, Canada. For the past seven years, I have been going through a journey that began when my Mom started showing signs of dementia. Long story, short…she needed my help. Praying one summer morning in 2008, I heard God’s voice say very clearly, “I have a job for you, but you’re not ready yet. Well, its been five amazing years. Miracles upon miracles happened. Now, my Mom lives with me and is doing very well. God does answer prayers, and He does prepare us. We encourage others and remind people of the power of prayer and never giving up. I enjoy Proverbs 31 Ministries very much !! Thank you :)

  166. Hi, I’m Nancy from Cortland, NY. I’m excited about this study because I’ve fought my weight all my life. There have been a couple times I’ve lost but never reached my goal before gaining again. I want to find the “want to” and I know that if my relationship with Christ is the most important thing to me, then I can do it. Looking forward to learning to crave God more than anything!

  167. My Name is Mandy and I live in Clayton. I have read Made to Crave a few years back and have decided I needed to re-read it with a more focused view. Since high school, I have struggled with my self confidence and struggled for years with an eating disorder. While I am physically active and eat healthy, I monitor my foods way too much and beat myself up on a regular basis. Now as a mom of two, one of whom is a girl, I want to correct my view of myself so that I don’t pass that along to my daugther. I am a Christian and know how God feels about me, I just have a hard time believeing it.

  168. Hi, my name is Debbie and I am from Ohio. I am excited for the study for several reasons. First of all to learn some healthy lifestyle eating and some commitment to do that instead of craving the sugars. From some of the posts from Lysa I am hoping to work on overcoming my fears/phobias that are totally crippling my life and my families life and also know that I may not be the best person to everyone here but I am perfect to God.

    • Janet Kramer says:

      Hi Debbie
I am from Fremont Ohio. I with you on wanting to get out of the sugar craving. I want to loose my fears too of feeling like I’m not good enough and have to be perfect.

  169. Teresa Dunivent says:

Hello, I am Teresa Dunivent. I actually read the book about a month ago, and feel that I could read it again and again and again while still learning something new about it and myself. I have an unhealthy relationship with food. I was diagnosed with Celiac’s Disease beginning of September this year, and have started a whole new lifestyle of eating, Paleo, with the help of my doctor. It is a difficult journey as people always tell me how sorry they are for me because I can’t eat the good stuff. My hope is to meet other people who are making tough changes and will support me and not feel sorry for. I want to be healthy. I want to provide support and encouragement for everyone else, and maybe I can find someone who lives near me to walk and start my adventure to try to run a 5K next October with my daughter. I want to spend my time craving The Lord and not food.

  170. Hi ! I’m Lisa and I’m from Tulsa, Oklahoma. I am excited to begin this study and rave God instead of food. I know this can be done, I’ve done it before. I just let go and relapsed back to the old way. I am ready to go back to craving God. Can’t wait for this study to begin !

  171. My name is Sara and I am from Newfoundland, Canada. I am hoping to gain a better relationship with God. I have done your online bible studies before and am loving them. Looking forward to this one.

  172. Meg Derosier says:

Hi my name is Meg and I live in Vermont and my hope is to grow into a deeper relationship with God and not to Go to food but to him when i am stressed overwhelmed etc… I recently had to go Gluten free so i have lost about 10 pounds and am hoping to lose more and am hoping to gain a healthier eating style too.

  173. Hi my name is Leah and I’m in Decatur, IL. My hope is to recognize those moments that I am just going to the food instead of to God. I have gained 105 lbs – Now this is a lot of emtional eating that I need to be giving to God and getting into his word when I feel the urge to eat and I’m not hungry. Because of the weight gain I have sleep apnea and have to sleep with a CPAP machine. I need to get this weight off because God has given me this body for the time being and I can’t do his work if I am not healthy. Looking so forward to this study.

  174. Hi Sandy here, from Prattville, Al. Time constraints prevent me from joing a group online this time and I will miss all my new sisters. I will do the study by email along with my daughter and a family friend. We are very excited to get going and see what the Lord has prepared for us. Thanks P31 for your faithfulness to this study.

  175. Hey everyone! I am from Saskatchewan, Canada. I am currently living in Taiwan and teaching English. I am really looking forward to this study. Over the past 8 years my relationship with food hasn’t been the best. I am excited to see how we will all grow in this area of our lives and ultimately in our relationship with God as well.

  176. Hi my name is Ana and I am from the island of Barbados in the West Indies. I don’t need to loose any weight but want to have a closer relationship with God and rid myself of low self esteem and depression and enjoy life to the fullest living out the plans He has for my life.

  177. Nancy Silvers (OBS Small Group Leader) says:

Hi I live in the NW section of Arkansas, just northwest of the little town of Berryville, AR. I did Made to Crave in Jan 2012 and it definitely blessed me in so many ways. I had lost 35 lbs since I did Made to Crave but some health issues that have affected my ability to exercise and also some comfort food eating has caused me to gain about 8-10 lbs back. I am looking forward to doing this study again for the accountability, fellowship with other like minded, women and most of all to make craving God as natural to me as reaching for some chocolate :) I want God to be my all in all today and always.

  178. Hi my name is Amanda and I am from Wasilla, Alaska. I have struggled with an eating disorder for most of my life. While my treatment team is able to help address the physical issues related to my disorder they cannot reach me on a spiritual level. I hope to strengthen my relationship with Jesus Christ, gain wisdom through the Word, and use this wisdom to aid in my recovery.

  179. Karen Ellis says:

    Hey Everyone,

I am Karen and I live in St Johnsbury, Vermont. I am 60 years old and have battled with weight since I got out of the Army. As a youngster I was always tall and thin and could eat anything and everything and not gain a pound. I have tried diets, etc but have never been able to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I want Christ to be who I rely onto fill and satisfy me and not food. My fear is that I will fail again and then feel so bad because I did. I’m 60 years old, work ovbernights, don’t sleep well, and have crazy meal times so I usually reach for the quick, no-cooking junk. I know I’ll need you’alls support and encouragement too. Thx mucho

  180. Lisa Little says:

    Hi everyone!
I’m Lisa from Gloucester, VA. This will be my 3rd OBS with P31. I wanted to say I am hoping to crave more of God on this journey with MTC OBS, but I do crave Him, I just want to crave him MORE than I do now! I’ve made many friends through P#! OBS and I know that I will be making more. I am praying they get all their work done smoothly to prepare for opening day and that all the groups are filled up and most of all everyone sees how wonderful these OBS are and how much you learn and will grow on your journey with God!

    Peace and Grace,

My name is Nicki and I live in Duck Springs, Alabama. This is my first online Bible study. I loved Lysa’s book “Unglued” because I learned so much about myself and my faith. I hope to learn positive eating strategies and great Biblical truth from “Made to Crave”. I wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!

  182. Hi! My name is Bonnie and I am in southern Illinois. I have read Made to Crave, and want to do an in-depth Bible study on it, and possibly lead my women friends in a Bible study of it next fall. I want to develop a deeper relationship with Christ and crave Him to the extent that I don’t crave anything else but Him…I want to learn how to reach out to others and help them develop this relationship also.

  183. Hi! This bible study is the perfect way to start the new year! I’m so looking forward to learn how to turn toward God instead of “snacks” when things are working out the way I want. I’m also ready to take another step with Proverbs 31 in learning to rely on God instead of myself when time gets tough. God Bless everyone at P31 – Merry Christmas and continued blessings in 2014.

  184. Sorry – when things **aren’t** working out the way I want :)

  185. Lakecia Harris says:

Hi my name is Lakecia Harris and I am from Montgomery, Alabama. I hope to learn how to not my cycle if emotional/feel good eating and gain the focus that I desire to release extra weight physically and emotionally. 2014 is my year to move confidently int weight release/ health journey. Looking forward to the study and will be praying for all of you at P31 ministries :)

    • Marie Solla says:

Hi Lakecia! How good it feels to run into you here and know that I know at least ONE person doing this study!!! Small world! :-)

  186. My name is Julie and I am from Monrovia,CA outside of LA. I have already read MTC and loved it. I felt the book understood me in a way I have never seen before. I really resonated with what Lysa said our relationship with food not being about the “how to” but about the “want to”. I hope to be transformed in Christ and find my “want to” in this study. I was so happy to see people commenting from all over the world. How exciting to have people from all over the globe on this journey. I look forward to traveling this road with you all.

  187. Hey! I am Laurelyn. That’s pronounced ” laurel -in”. I put in the pronunciation because next to my addiction to food (sweets especially) the mispronouncing of my name is something I have had to deal with all my life. Sometimes I woder, “what were my parents thinking?” I live in Lancaster, Ohio and was alerted to this study through a friend. I am on my second reading of the book and seeing some good results in the weight department but have a long way to go spiritually. My prayer continues to be that God would give me a heart that desires, no yearns, after him. I guess a lot of us have that same prayer. I have never done an OBS so look ahead to this with some intimidation, but mostly anticipation of how God will work in and through me.

  188. My name is Angela and I live in Kentucky. I have battled with weight all my life. I hope this journey leaves me craving God to fill the voids in my life rather than feeling those
voids with food. I want to strengthen my relationship with God. I am thrilled I found this bible study and believe it was meant to be at this time in my life.

  189. Hi,

My name is Judy Sims and I live in Azusa, CA. I’m excited to start this new study to help me learn discipline and self control not only in my physical life, but in my spiritual life. I hope to grow closer in my relationship with Jesus through this study. This is my first online bible study but I have been so blessed by the “Encouragement for Today” daily devotions that I decide to do this study. I also invite a couple friends who will do the the study with me. Thank you for all your hard work at Proverbs31. May The Lord bless your efforts.

  190. Nina Blasingame says:

My name is Nina Blasingame and I lived in Midwest City OK. I have been on a roller coaster ride with my weight for many years. As the saying goes, all I’ve lost is lots of money trying different weightloss programs. I am currently involved in a faithbased weightloss program and love it but I want more. I have read the book “Made to Crave” and enjoyed it so much but I want to really get involved and get down to business with my weight. I need to manage my weight because I have Type 2 Diabetes. But most of all, I need to learn how to surrender EVERYTHING to the Lord, not just for a few weeks, but forever. I’m looking forward to also meeting new friends and give and receive encouragement.

    • From one Oklahoma girl to another, God has got this!! I am with you on the lose it gain it back thing. Looking forward to studying with you.

  191. Hi…I’m Carolyn from Cincinnati, OH and when I read the blog about “Made to Crave”, I took it as an answer to recent prayers!! I bought the book right away and am eager to partner with like-minded women in the study to end this vicious cycle of eating for the wrong reasons!! Despite joining Weight Watchers, there is still an emotional void or hole in my heart that I want to fill with the Holy Spirit, not food!! God has brought be so far in the past ten years in my desire to be the best version of myself and to have a deeper relationship with him.

    • Janet Kramer says:

      Hi Carolyn
Im from Fremont Ohio. I too have been through the Weight Watcher thing and put the weight back on. I hunger to learn more about God.

      • Hi Janet,
I’m from Delaware, Ohio. I’m praying to be hungry for God and to release my weight to him. I’m a repeat offender with Weight Watchers which makes me believe that there is more to this thing than just focusing on the food. I pray for victory for us all.

    • Hi Carolyn,
I live in Delaware, Ohio. I understand what you mean about feeling a void with a diet program. I think diets put the focus on the food and I do believe that the focus needs to be on Christ. I have had moments of success when I have surrendered my will in the area of food, but I can’t seem to stay on that spiritual horse…so to speak…lol. I’m looking forward to the encouragement and support of others who want to be filled with Christ as opposed to food.

  192. Hello sweet OBS sisters! My name is Samantha and I’m from the tiny town of Wendell NC. I’m really looking forward to this study and the women’s group at my church has decided to study Made to Crave at the same time! Having lost over 120 lbs over a few years time by making small manageable changes in ny diet and lifestyle I am so looking forward to drawing closer to Christ and breaking the bondage of craving other things for comfort. This holiday season I’ve gained 10 lbs and my clothes are getting tight. I know it’s because I’ve been giving in and eating sugary foods to deal with the loss of my grandma and some other stresses in my life. I want to make Christ my refuge before all else. I am eager to see how God is going to use the awesome ladies of P31 and this study to change my heart. I also really enjoy the love, support, encouragement, and prayers we give each other in these studies :)

  193. Hi, my name is Lorrie. I live in central NY but winter in Gulf Shores, AL for 6 months, which is where I am right now. Much like Nina Blasingame, I am also in a faith-based weight management program, First Place 4 Health and have been for several years now. I am still struggling with getting over whatever obstacles are holding me back. I am praying for God to remove them. I have also read the book “Made to Crave,” and also gave one to one of my good friends who also loved it. I do have the Made to Crave kit, but have not pursued all its content yet. I had signed up for the previous online Bible Study, but alas, was not good at keeping up with it. I did read the book, however, and found it very helpful and will be passing it on to a friend as well. I am looking forward to being involved in this Bible Study, and meeting other women who are facing the same challenges, so that we can encourage one another. I need to remember that perfection is not possible, but progress is!! Here’s praying for lots of progress!

  194. Hi! My name is Kathy and I live in Denham Springs, LA…. I have lost weight over the years…. I really want to do it for good… I am tired of being that yo-yo! Ready to study the Word and please my Heavenly Father! Can’t wait to start!

  197. Sudi Andrews says:

My name is Sudi. I live in Columbus, GA, I am 64 and a retired school teacher. Weight has been an issue all of my life. I was under condemnation while growing up from my father because I was too fat. Food was everything it shouldn’t be in my family. I joined Weight Watchers last January and have stayed in it all year. My goal was to lose 63 pounds but so far I have lost 25. I have many health problems and play the yo-yo game depending on how I am feeling. I pray God to show me how to do this without my emotions becoming my weakness. It is definitely a spiritual battle!!!

  198. Hi! My name is Joan. I live in Massillon, OH. I read Made to Crave a few years ago And enjoyed it very much. I read Lysa’s other book, Unglued a few months ago. 203. My name is Christine and I live in Michigan. My goal is to overcome my addiction to food and fill the void with God. I have overcome other addictions with God but this is the hardest. I am constantly thinking about eating and not eating. People tell me to just not eat the garbage or to stop when I am full but I just rebel and eat with such a sadness and anger in my heart. I hate this addiction and I pray this study and group of ladies will help me be accountable to God as he empowers me to overcome and then testify how I have been delivered and my chains are finally broke. I have all the knowledge but my flesh is defiant. I feel like the Pharisees with my knowledge and refusal to submit:-(

  204. Angela Bergeron says:

Hello I’m Angela from Athol, MA, think very north central. I’m a stay at home mom and only found my way back to God in the past few months. I’ve struggled with deep depression for over 7 years and have recently kicked that and I’ve found that he’s the peace and piece that has been missing while I was lost. So I was already craving him, but didn’t know it. I’m hoping to get a deeper more meaniful relationship with him. This is my 1st proverbs 31 study and I can’t wait!

  205. Kati Stewart-Riggs says:

Hi my name Kati and I am from Lowgap, NC. I am very excited to be a part of this Bible Study. I not only crave comfort foods but I also crave TV, Internet, etc. I struggle to find the motivation to not only eat right but to feel good about myself as well as exercise. I want to find more joy through my relationship with Christ which is wonderful but can be an over the top thing. When I crave food I want to crave Christ and I feel that at some point if I can get to that place then I will find a peace that I never knew.

  206. I’m Tricia. I live in Kennesaw, GA. I’m looking forward to this study, as I realize I use food as a comfort measure/stress reducer/ distraction. I know God is the true Source for these things. Thank you for doing this!

I am also hoping to develop a deeper craving for God above everything else in my life. If I could lose a few pounds, that would be an added bonus! Really looking forward to jumping into this study. Already praying for the leaders and other ladies who will be doing and those who need to be doing it.

  210. I’m Kimberly in Texas. I’ve had a rough year and have truly sought comfort in good instead of God. I want to seek him first above all things. I want to deepen my relationship with God.

I have been in many weight loss programs with a few temporary successes. My relationship with the Lord has suffered with the battle of the bulge. I realize the weight problem is a sin problem too. I love to cook and serve others, teach Sunday School, teach pre-school church and other ministries. I am hoping that as I grow closer to the Lord through this study, the desire to eat will subside and I will as a senior find healthier eating habits that will help my husband and I live out our lives in better health.

  218. Jennifer L says:

Hi! I’m Jennifer from Minot, North Dakota. As with the previous studies I’ve participated in, I hope to gain a closer relationship with God and make reading the Bible part of my daily routine. If I’m being honest, I do enjoy food more than I crave God so I’m looking forward to what I will learn and discover during this P31 OBS. #CraveGod
Thank you so much for all your hard work preparing for these studies Melissa and P31 OBS Team! I’ve enjoyed getting to know each of you the past three studies I’ve done.
    Merry Christmas!
    Jennifer

  219. Teresa Gines says:

Hi! I’m Teresa and I always want to be closer to God than I was the day before! I’m a tiny thing, and don’t really need to lose weight. What I need to do is gain a new attitude about my very restricted diet due to health issues. Why bother learning to cook differently at my age? Im too tired to learn to cook all over again! I’ve found some easy ways to not eat the food I’m not suppose to, but really, I need to do so much better, and stop taking shortcuts.

  220. My name is Kim and I live in Texas–I have truly been craving more and more and more from God, so I pray to begin to feel Him filling those needs–as well as helping me with my weight issues.!

  221. Melanie Davis says:

Hello! My name is Melanie and I am from a small town in West Virginia. I have read Made to Crave once before and I am currently studying Unglued with a small group of women from my church. I am looking forward to studying Made to Crave in January!

  222. Hi! my name is Mary I live in WI,and I crave seeking God more in my life.he has done such amazing things already,so I know there just has to be more to come.I’m hoping to make some new friends, and go through this journey with them!I bought this book quite awhile ago,and haven’t really read much of it.When I saw this bible study,I was really excited! I”m hoping to get healthier and lose some weigh .I have bad knees,so it can only help!

  223. Hi My name is Patty, and I’m hoping to gain a deeper devotion to God, faith in Him alone, to help me put my life in order again. I need to rekindle my relationship with my Savior because my faith meter is very low, in all honestly I have a very ungrateful heart right now during this season of my life I am angry for how things have turned out.(back surgery, nerve damage, can’t walk much anymore) I’m hoping to revive my faith in HIM and that by obedience HE will bless me with a much needed weight loss, and I will have victory over this bondage once and for all. FREEDOM ♥

  224. Hi, I”m Paula and I live in Shreveport, LA. I have battled weight all my life (no, literally ALL my life – I was 9 lbs 13 oz on the day I was born!) I eat for so many reasons that have nothing to do with hunger, and while I manage to control it sometimes, all it takes is a little hiccup in my routine and all my resolve flies out the window. I have had good success this past year, lost 50 lbs from February – October but I’ve really been struggling again the past couple of months. I want my life, all of my life, to glorify God my Creator & Redeemer, and that includes my eating habits. It doesn’t glorify Him when I eat until I feel sick, and when my body doesn’t function well because of my excess weight. I still need to lose about 30 more lbs to be at my goal weight, hoping that not only will I lose those 30 lbs but I will learn to crave God more than I crave that extra large mint chocolate chip milkshake.

  225. My name is Ann, and I live in North Carolina. I have been up and down on the scales and on soo many diets, and although I have lost weight numerous times, I am still right back up there again where I don’t belong.
I am praying that this study will help me to get my focus on God as priority and fill my cravings with Him. I want to take better care of my health, and my body which God has given me. I am looking forward to sharing the ride with some ladies who are experiencing some of the same issues that I am, and want to grow closer to God!

  226. My name is Kara. I live in WI. Although I don’t need to really loose any weight right now I have lost 65 lbs. I have a restrictive diet due to health reasons. I do tend to “crave” other things besides God alone. I want Gods to be my everything he is my enough.

  227. Hi! I have read the book “Made to Crave” 5 times in 2012-2013 and love it. I started in June 2012 because I was having severe back pain and after all the tests and therapy the only hope offered to me were injections in my back and pain pills. I decided to see if losing weight might help me. I found the book at the “Family Christian Bookstore” and started reading it. I lost 35 pounds going from 170 to 135 using the book daily and asking God daily to be in charge of my decisions about food! I started walking 1 mile 3-4 times a week. I HATE exercise! But I found having a deeper relationship with God daily satisfied my soul. Since September of this year I have buried my mother-in-law, one of my sisters, and a niece. I have put on 15 pounds by eating to dull the pain! So I jumped at the chance to start anew with “Made to Crave”. I have already ordered 4 copies of “Made to Crave” hoping to ask a few friends to do this with me this time. I can’t wait to get started again.

  228. Kathey Sprague says:

There was a group of us who just finished a M2C bible study. Sorry to see it end and so I was excited to see this opportunity to continue what God is trying to teach me. I want to dig deeper this time through and crave God even more. I’m retired, enjoying life with my sweet husband, in Salem (Keizer) Oregon.
While losing weight would be nice, my focus is more on listening to what God wants me to do.

  229. I am so excited that my girl friend told me about this bible study. I look forward to growing my relationship with God and engaging with other women of faith. I hope that this bible study will help me to put God at the center of my life and be able to become the daughter he wants me to be.

  230. Marie Solla says:

I’m Marie, I live in Miami Gardens, FL. I love the way Lysa teaches, and I am an emotional eater with a sweet tooth. So I think this study will help me focus on HIM and take care of my body, HIS temple.

  231. I am in Southern Middle Tennessee. I have “tried” so many ways to be healthier. thinner. and happier. I have been wishing for a relationship with God that I can truly feel. I am hoping this OBS will be the key to both. I pray for ALL involved in this – that God will be the center of all we do and that His blessings will overtake us fully and quickly.

  232. Sue Casanova says:

I’m Sue from Ohio, and I learned about “Made to Crave” from my Bible study leader this past summer. I’ve read it by myself, and I got a lot of it, but feel I need to also connect with others who are striving to depend more on Christ than the food they eat.

  233. My name is Jessica I am from Kansas. I long to crave God in every area of my life so that I might be able to show the love of Jesus through my actions and my words.

My name is Jennifer from Jackson, Tn. I’m looking forward to reading this book again. I never finished it before. Hoping to be able to more effectively crave God than anything else at the end of this study.

Merry Christmas Melissa, Lysa, Nicki, all the OBS girls and everyone at Proverbs 31!! Love you all!

  236. Janet Kramer says:

My name is Janet Kramer and I am from Fremont Ohio. I am a Registrar Assistant at a local college. I work a different a flex schedule weekly and feel my life is crazy. I find myself exhausted and picking up fast food instead of coming home and making something more nutritious. The same goes for breakfast I am either going through McDonald, Burger King, Subway, or Arby and grabbing a breakfast sandwich and an extra one that I eat a my desk at work for lunch. I drink 6 or more Caffeine free Pepsi a day and want to break this cycle too. I need to shed lots of pounds as I had knee replacement surgery in 2011 and am not able to exercise as I ended up being diagnosed with Atrial Fibulation which makes me short of breath. I had a heart ablation in 2012 and since them have been in normal rhythm but the walk from the college parking lot to my office gets me so short of breath daily that I have to sit down when I enter the building and rest and then take the elevator to my office. I want to be normal like everyone else and not be short of breath just from walking. All these things have changed my personal life and I miss doing some of the things I use to do. I crave to be closer to God and love studying the bible. This is my third OBS study. I feel like I don’t know the proper way to pray and feel like I am always asking God for things like good health and financial freedom. I hope to learn more of how to become closer to him with this study. I have ordered the book, participant guide, devotional book, and DVD. I can’t wait to receive them. I will be off of work for 9 days over the holiday and would like to read the book through once and then a second time as the study starts. I have prepared by printing out the free extras like the signs for my refrigerator. Merry Christmas everyone.

  237. Janet Kramer says:

Sorry I got on a tangent writing here ladies.

  238. Hello ladies, I’m so excited to be participating in this study, especially coming off of A Confident Heart. I’ve been waiting to read this book, and think it’s a great way to start the new year. I expect this Made to Crave study to change my relationship with God, myself, food, and others. I look forward to receiving much needed wisdom for how to get through hard days when I’m craving things that aren’t good for me.

  239. Hi! I’m looking forward to participating in this study. This is my first time in an online Bible study group and I’m excited about giving it a go. I’ve read Made to Crave before, but I’m looking forward to the accountability of going through it with a group. I’m very prone to stress/emotional eating and I want to break those tendencies and learn to find comfort and peace in God, not food. Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

  240. Laverne (Missy) says:

So excited to hear what God has to say through Us by the Holy Spirit.

  241. Hi, my name is Anna and I am from central IL. I am a mom of four girls, ages 6 and younger. I also work part-time as a physical therapist. After my youngest was born, I decided to get on track with a healthier lifestyle. My husband and I exercise 3 days a week, but the weight isn’t moving much. I eat when I am bored, tired, happy, sad… You get the point. Anyway, this will be my first online bible study and I am very excited! God was giving me a gentle nudge in this direction.. And I am anxious to fill my craving with God, glorifying him and doing His work.

  243. Hi! I am Julie from Thibodaux, Louisiana. This is my first OBS! I read Made to Crave once, but look forward to “studying” it this time with a group. I go through patterns of eating/exercising really well, then falling off the wagon. I am also looking forward to sharing this journey with some great new friends!

  244. Sherrie Connell says:

Hello! My name is Sherrie. I am really hoping to make some lifestyle changes this coming year and feel this study is going to give me a great start. I do want to crave God more than anything! I’ve struggled with my weight for the past fourteen years. I lost 80 lbs. about two years ago, but have gained nearly all of it back. I feel I lost weight to look good, but this time I want to concentrate on healing from the inside out. I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and will begin treatments soon after the new year begins. It is more important than ever for me to make some healthy changes and to know that God is always with me. I am looking forward to this online study. Thank you!

  245. I look forward to a good start for the new year both with God & working, again, on my food addiction. This last year has been a discouraging one one so many aspects. I am ready for some changes.

  246. Hi Everyone! I am Carol from Northeast WI. I have done the You Version 21 Day Made To Crave and knew this book was for me. If I didn’t have to eat to survive I’d be a happy camper. I think Satan uses food to try and keep me from my Savior. It really saddens me and I hope to gain insight on how to stay God focused and how to get through those times when Satan is pushing my buttons.

  247. Robyn Phillips says:

    Hi everyone
My name is Robyn and I’m from Cairns Austraila. I have been battling my weight for the last 30 years and I’m sick of it. I want to be closer to God as Im struggling, my biggest problem is I don’t eat.

  248. Hi OBS leaders, authors and all who work to make these amazing studies for us. My name is Amy Black and I am so looking forward to this study, mainly and most importantly, for a better and stronger relationship with my Creator, and the lover of my soul. How I want to crave only Him and nothing else. He literally takes my breath away, and I hope I can find what is missing in my heart. This will be my I think 5th study in group 13 and I cant wait to see what mountains He moves during MTC. I love all yall and cant wait to get started in January.

  249. HI Everyone!
I’m really looking forward to this study to get closer to God and to have a healthier lifestyle. I have been sick since March 2012 and because of the medications have gained 50 lbs. I want to loose it although I know it will be harder to loose it than it was to gain, but I’m ready for the challenge. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
    Barbara Swarthout

  250. Carrie Wallet says:

Hey! My name is Carrie Waller. I’m from Mississippi and a new mom. I really want to have a better understanding of how much God loves me. I also want to learn how to want “crave” Jesus. I love Lisa and can’t wait to learn so much from her!!

  251. This is Vanessa from India. This is the 3rd OBS I have signed up for and I’m so excited to be a part of the same. I’m so glad to have this time to prepare my heart for this study. I’m praying for Melissa, the OBS team and every lady who has signed up and for those who will be signing up for this OBS. I will be inviting some of my friends to join me in this study. I’m also happy to share that 2014 I would be a “happy partner” of P31 ministries. I’m so excited to be able to stand alongside all you wonderful ladies and support the plans and visions the Lord has laid on your hearts. Be blessed. Have a Merry Christmas and we are all looking forward to a wonderful 2014 where we crave nothing but JESUS.

  252. Hello, my name is Rena. I’m from Newton, Mississippi. I hope to grow more. In Gods words . And not to abuse food as a substitute for whatever problem I may face. For weight loss to be done. Healthily. And meet people who desire to know Christ and Our Father.

  253. Hi all. I’m Amy and I am from South Central Pennsylvania. I am really excited to be joining the MTC OBS. This will be my 4th OBS with P31. I crave a deeper relationship with my God. I want my relationship to grow so intimately with Him, when others are around me they see His love shine off of me. I want to learn to keep all other cravings (coffee, desserts, trips to the coffee shop) below my craving for God.
I am so very thankful that He has brought P31 into my life. I’m so thankful for everyone at P31, P31 OBS, my Facebook small group & all of its members.
    Merry Christmas!
    Amy :-)

These on-line bible studies have helped me become the woman that God knows I am. I’m looking forward to the next step in my spiritual development as I know now that Jesus is the only person who can fill me up. Thank you Proverbs 31 ministry. I will keep you in prayer.

  258. Shady Malaeb says:

My name is Shady Malaeb. I live in Texas and I’m married and have four girls. My church did this book in small group. It was so wonderful, I’m looking forward to going through it a second time. It’s that good. I lost five pounds the first time. Maybe if I keep putting it into practice, I’ll lose five more. I only have five more to go. I am a WW lifetimer and I recently rejoined WW due to the fact that this book helped shine a new perspective on my body image. I’m not a bigger person, yet, it’s important to eat for fuel and health, in my forties. I’m about to reach my free WW status again and it feels very healthy and wonderful. Terrific book;) “everything is permissible not everything is beneficial”…,

  259. Hi! My name is Nikki. I live in Jacksonville, Florida. I hope to gain knowledge on how to change some behaviors in my life that I can’t seem to get a grip on. And I know that I will be blessed just as I was on the last study. Thank you God, so much, for this loving and caring community of women!

  260. I am Sandy from Northern California. It is my desire to have more of God and less of me in 2014! I love the idea of craving God instead of chocolate and can’t wait to achieve that goal!

  261. My name is Amanda. Im from Texas. I will be leading this Bible study at my church during the time of the online Bible study. Im pumped. I can’t wait to share with these ladies how God has worked in my life and changed it just through reading the M2C devotional book! I also want to teach them what God has taught me since August. Its a great journey you won’t regret! There are gonna be tough times but we have the ultimate strength to rely on during this journey. He loves us so much and won’t let us down. He will get you through this. Its so awesome how He works! God Bless you all as you go through this study. Stay strong :)

  262. I am desperate to be closer to God and to lose weight, get healthy and feel better – I wish the study was starting today! Thanks you so much for this study – I read the book two years ago – I am going to start reading it again. Thank you – and God Bless You.

Can’t wait to dig deep in☺️
Praying for you all, Peace & Blessings unto you.

  264. My name is Lisa and I’m from North Dakota. I have done quite a few OBS and I admire the whole team. I have never posted before I’ve just attended from the sidelines. I decided I am going to really get involved this time. I too struggle with food and my relationship with it. I have also learned that when my eating is out of control it affects everything else in my life.

  265. My name is Wendi and I live in Thomasville, NC. I have yo-yo dieted since I was about 11 years old. That’s 31 years of dieting. I want to give up craving foods. I want to want God so much that there’s not room for anything else!!

  266. Robbyn R French says:

Hello my name is Robbyn I am from North Dakota..I did Made to Crave last year with a groupblast year…I have let food become my comforter and I am stress eating all day. This food addiction has been my battle for years. Looking forward drawing closer to God and losing some weight.

  267. Lynda Gray says:

Good morning, my name is Lynda and I live in Southwestern VA. I am looking forward to this Bible study in hopes that I will learn to see myself as God sees me and not as I see me….a number on a scale!

  268. Lynda Gray says:

Good morning, my name is Lynda and I live in South west VA. Ian looking forward to doing this Bible study in hopes that I will begin to see myself as The Lord sees me and not as I see me….a number on a scale!

  269. Hi my name is Rhonda. I have had a struggle with weight practically my entire life! I joined weight watchers 3 years ago and had much success. I am now starting to see the scale creep back up. It is so annoying! I try hard with the WW practices but it is a battle. I am tired of fighting. I just want to live a normal healthy life and not have my weight be my focus. I want God to be my focus and once He truly is my main focus, the rest of my life will fall into place. Balance is my hope in studying Made To Crave.

  270. My name is Jeannie and I am from Wisconsin. I am hoping to deepen my relationship with God, learn some good habits, be encouraged and also encourage others along the way, and lose weight!

  271. Hi! My name is Laura and I’m from Northwest Georgia. What I hope to gain from this study is a stronger relationship with The Lord and to crave Him not food…I really enjoy food. I’m looking forward to this study. Praying often for the leaders at Proverbs 31 and all the ladies who have joined already and who will join in the coming weeks.

  272. I’m Tonya from Huntsville, TX. My problem always been looking to chocolate & other sugary food for comfort. The Confident Heart study really opened my eyes to things in my life & helped me grow, so I’m excited to be a part of another P31 study. Without a doubt, I know it will assist me in getting on the right track in this area.

  273. Hello my friends. I am praying that this Bible study will give me the strength and confidence from my Heavenly Father to be able to “Live for Him”. To truly treat my body as a temple and that I should nourish it with what it needs, to stay healthy and active, to spread His Word.

  274. Hello….I’m Nan from Texas! I am sooooo looking forward to MTC. I have struggled with my food addiction most of my adult life…..I also turn to the wrong answers to fill a void…..it’s like an unending circle of frustration! My hope & prayers are to build a healthy relationship with God & break this unhealthy cycle I’ve been on!

  275. Hi, my name is Tracy and I live in The Woodlands, Texas north of Houston. This is my 3rd time to read M2C and the 2nd time doing it with OBS. By the way, I love OBS and have been doing them for 2 years now. I feel like I grow spiritually in every area of my life but with my weight issues, which I struggle with over and over again. I can obey the Lord in so many areas and allow Him to prune me but this stubborn flesh is the hardest. I am about to have 6 grandkids under the age of 5 (my daughter is pregnant with twins) and I need to have the strength and energy to keep up with everyone. Losing weight would help me tremendously with this.

  276. Hi my name is Vicki I live in Clovis California & I am excited to do this MTC study & hopefully not use food as my comfort or to just think I NEED to grab some chocolate or that second helping! This is my 4th OBS & I hope to grow closer to our Lord.. I love these studies & our leaders!

  277. Hi, my name is Patricia and I live in Pierre, SD. I am very excited to join this bible study. I have read Made to Crave a couple of times, but I haven’t fully surrendered to God that I can do this only through him. I want to be able to get up in the morning and think about God and not my weight. I hope to read this book again with God’s eyes and not my own. Merry Christmas to everyone!

    • Hi, Patricia —
I am a native South Dakotan (born in the Eastern side but raised in the Black Hills – I love SD) … I now live in WY. I agree with you … I, too, want to fully surrender to God that it is only through Him that I can do this. I have struggled with my weight my entire life. I would love to lose at least 50 pounds (which would be my “ideal” weight – 40 pounds would make me happy). Praying that we can both get up in the morning and think about God and not our weight. God bless you.

  278. Leanne Arens says:

Hi, I am in Bellevue, WA. I am looking forward to learning how to crave God not food. I am an emotional eater and sugar addict…I have struggled with my weight most of my life. Excited to be a part of this study.

  279. Hello my name is Lois and I am looking forward to the on-line bible study. This is my first online bible study and I am so excited! I have had a long struggle with my weight. I want to take it off and keep it off once and for all. Most of all, I want to have a deeper relationship with God and crave him.

  280. My name is Nicky, I’m 34, a married working mom of 3 & I live in Southern California…I crave sweets all the time! To the point that I eat little to no fruits or veggies. I am blessed that I don’t struggle with my weight but this “craving” is really an addiction that consumes a lot of my thinking. I have little willpower. :( Three months ago I did a clean-eating detox and weaned off of all caffeine & sugar successfully for 6 weeks (before I also had an addiction to caffeine…I would also drink 32-48oz of coffee daily)! I have been able to keep off of caffeine but I fell off the wagon at a birthday party and have gone back to my sugary ways…I really feel it is a stronghold. It sounds silly but honestly…I think about when or where I can get my next “hit” constantly…cookies, chocolate, ice cream, you name it. I’m tired of this controlling my life! Looking forward to this study to help me get back on track! :)

  281. Terri Juliano says:

Hello my name is Terri Juliano and I live on a rural farm outside the tiny town of Circle Montana. I have three young men and a daughter. My hubby and I are one child away from being empty nesters :). I am taking this study because I love to learn and I love to especially learn more about my Lord! I so enjoyed doing the last online bible study and I am looking forward to starting this one. Also I have pre-hypertension and I need to lose some weight. I love to cook, bake and eat, especially the eating. :) My hope is to grasp a better understanding of the difference between filling up in things that do not satisfy and filling up on God.

  282. Shari Ashley says:

Hi all my name is Shari Ashley and after a very turbulent and emotional year I am craving a deeper relationship with God.

  283. Hi. I want to give this area over to the Lord without being too legalistic about food. I think when I diet I become a Pharisee about food and start to feel so burdened that I give up. I just want my relationship to food to improve and to be healthy. Currently I have a lot of chronic health problems like back problems, arthritis, possibly fibromyalgia and fatigue that would improve with weight loss. I know this is something that the Lord wants to be involved with too. My body is a temple but I have been feeding it too much so that it has become a sloppy place that is not glorifying the the Lord. I also want the fruit of self-control. Sometimes I wonder if the Holy Spirit has left me in this area because it is so hard. I know Satan wants me to fail. But I want to be a persevering saint that wins in the end. That means I need to work on my heart. Made to Crave is just what I need.

  284. I, too, have had a yo-yo relationship with food and my weight for a good portion of my life. I am looking to grow closer to God and make Him my craving, not food.

  285. I’m from Alabama. I’ve invited both my daughter and my daughter in law to join me on this adventure with M2C! I am giving them both the book for Christmas and I’m writing a prayer for each one in the cover! Can’t wait to get started and see what The Lord has in store each day. Sweets have a stronghold on my heart and I reeeaaaaallllyyy want to put Jesus in that place!

  286. I tried an online study once before and wasn’t very successful with it. I have had this book sitting on my shelf, though, for a few months and am hoping being in a group reading it with others will help keep me on track. Hoping to come out of this with a craving for Jesus that is as genuine as I see in so many around me.

  287. Debbie West says:

I look forward to learning many new things in this Bible Study. I have been going through a very dry spell spiritually and hope to be renewed in my relationship with the Lord. I hope at the end of this study to be craving Jesus and not the other things in my life that seem so important, but really aren’t.

  288. Hi – I’m Shirley from Oklahoma and this is the first online study I have done. I am looking forward to increasing my Spirit and decreasing my girth…

  289. Christy Hesslen says:

I am looking forward to spending more time getting to know my Savior. I crave His presence & His Living Bread.

  290. Hi my name is Jacqueline and I’m from Madera ca. I’m looking forward to turning my craving for food into a craving for Jesus. I also hope to gain healthy habits. Can’t wait for this journey. Merry Christmas!

  291. Hi, my name is Stephanie and Live in South Carolina. I am a stay at home mom that homeschools my wonderful 10yr doughtier. I will be turning the BIG 4-0 this year and I would like to gain a deeper relationship with Jesus while learning those healthy habits. I have struggled with my weight most of my life and I am determined, with God’s help, to get control of this beast this year. I just pray that I will have the motivation to continue the study even when it is challenging.

  292. I’ve not did a online Bible study, and I think it would be fun! I seem to be online allot and no better way then to share our Faith and Trust in the Lord online to keep focused that way! Encourage one another and hold each other up in prayer! I have just lost about 80 pounds and would like to encourage others in their need to as they maybe on a journey of Trust during this time. I could have not did it without Jesus.. praying asking him to give me the strength. To keep me committed, seeking him daily to get me through. I am a G’ma of 13, and lets me enjoy them even more as I play and keep up with them!

  293. Hello, Sisters in Christ -
This study is coming at a perfect time for me … the start of a new year and what I always like to call “a clean slate” … My entire adult life has been a struggle with weight. I have been “overweight” more years than not. I am currently about 50 pounds heavier than I should be … I pray by doing this study I will gain a deeper relationship with God and grow to understand that it is through a relationship with Him I can be filled with what I believe I have used food to do (comfort me). Let’s do this sisters.

  294. By the way I am from Wyoming … but I was born and raised in South Dakota !!!

  295. Jodi K. Dahlke says:

Hello everyone. My name is Jodi and I am from Sheboygan/Milwaukee (area), Wisconsin. I am joining this online bible study after reading the book about a year ago. I am hoping to fully commit myself (BODY and soul) to the Lord and I’m hoping this study will help me learn, gain, and keep the confidence to do just that. I struggle to find a partner, other than my husband, that will encourage me to stay on the path.
I am a happy wife, married for 23 years and a mom of two grown men (21 and 19). I also have custody of my special needs sister, who I am convinced is my angel on earth sent from God! I work as a Human Resources professional in addition to being wife, mom, sister, daughter, etc… I am a child of God and I am looking forward to this study to be able to share and be encouraged from other Godly women!

  296. Hi! My name is Julie and I have recently moved to a ranch / Bed and Breakfast in southeastern Utah. My deepest desire for this OBS is to have a deeper relationship with my Lord and to seek Him instead of food for comfort. All my life I have turned to food to “self-medicate” my struggles and woes. I want off that ride and yearn to seek, and find, my refuge in Christ alone! My head knows that He is everything I need, but the rest of me doesn’t seem to grasp that. I am looking forward to studying and learning from you all. May we all be richly blessed in our time together.

  297. Hi, I’m Linda from Durant, Iowa. I’m married and we have 3 Beagles. I work in an office and have a 30 minute commute every morning and night. I’m hoping to have a better relationship with God while learning to make healthier choices. I was doing really good being healthy for a year or so, but I ‘fell off the wagon’ as they say, and have been really struggling. The gym I went to was sold and my trainer moved away, so I’ve even lost that little link to healthiness.

  298. Hi my name is Jasmine. This is my first time doing an online bible or any bible study. I think this will be great thing to start off my new year and I’m excited to be joining you ladies.

    • Hi Jasmine, Welcome !!!!! So glad that you joined us. This is my second online bible study with Proverbs 31. The last study was so life changing for me, so looking forward to this one. Our leaders here are wonderful, as well as our other OBS sisters in Christ. Everyone is so encouraging and supportive. Looking forward to sharing all that the Lord has for us in 2014. Have a blessed Christmas, Jean

  299. My name is Diana, and this will be my first time doing OBS and Made To Crave! Reaaly need this!!!

  300. Greetings from South Dakota! My name is Wendy, and my temple for the Lord has turned into a cathedral. Meaning a “temple” would be a small, intimate place, and a “cathedral” a large, imposing place. Because of my poor self image, I do not love myself the way a strong, Christian woman should. I have been blessed, at 46 years old, to be given a second chance at married life. This wonderful, Christian man loves my curves, and thinks I’m sexy, but I have a hard time believing that because I hate my body so much. This difference of opinion causes a few issues between us. :)
I read Made To Crave more than a year ago. While the book was great, I did little with it. I am hoping this online Bible study will give me motivation and encouragement to reconstruct the temple. God willing, this will finally be a turning point for me, and for all of us taking the journey together. God bless you all.

  301. Hi I am Lisa from Iowa! I am 47, a wife of 29 years, mother and have 3 beautiful grandsons. My reason for joining is I want to shed the negativity I have created by poor health and eating habits while drawing closer to God.

  302. My name is Cindy and I live in the Pocono Mountains in PA. I hope to live according to God’s truths and not emotions, and learn to love myself more. I am expecting an enlightening and empowerment of the Holy Spirit to work in, on, and through me. I am willing to be totally open, honest, and teachable. I am seeking a healthy ongoing lifestyle that will continue to motivate me and encourage others.

  303. Hello from California. I am excited to have found you all on Facebook with help from a friend. This will be my first OBS experience. I too have read this book but i am sure God has a plan to use it more fully in my life. God bless you all in your preparation and wishing you a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

  304. Hello from Pennsylvania. I am excited to go through this book for a second time but to go through it with friends, people who have the same battles that I have with food. I am excited that I will not be alone on this Journey!

  305. Trina Kerr says:

PLEASE HELP!!! I am once again desiring, seeking, hoping, and needing to get real about my weight problem! So sick of it!! I “know it all”, have all the books, exercise videos, and equipment. You name it, I’ve worn it, watched it, ate it, popped it, or even had it shot into me to lose weight. NOTHING works! Especially when it just sits on the shelf waiting for me to either open it, read it, or push play. I NEED to get the motivation and wisdom to APPLY it. I am so done wtih special methods or secret tricks to “hopefully” one day wake up and magically be a size 6. I need Jesus in my relationship with food for a healthy outlook and peace to truly live the life He has promised. Thank you for doing this. :) Trina

    • Wow, your post touched me. It is strange reading my thoughts, feelings, life struggle with healthy food choices; written by someone else who is going through the same thing. Trina, I could ditto your reply. I too have “worn it, watched it, ate it, popped it”; I “have all the books, exercise videos, and equipment.” I also “need to get the motivation and wisdom to APPLY it”.
I feel (for me) this will come in the form of SURRENDER. I feel that I have been trying to *do this on my own* for way too long. Wondering . . . . hmmm . . . If I were to surrender this over to God, listen to the Holy Spirit’s guidance and actually obey and walk in this guidance . . . . . what would the outcome be – would it be different, would I see a change in me?
Thanks Trina for sharing. I look forward to doing this M2C OBS with you and all the other ladies who have signed up.
Anticipating new, different, long lasting results. Many Blessings, Sondra

      • Thank you for your kind words and wisdom, Sondra. :)
“SURRENDER” really hits home and resonates into my heart. I pray that I will find the grace to humble my own desires unto the LORD’s guidance in this area.
I look forward to a new beginning.
        Blessings to you as well,
        Trina

  306. Hi! I’m Kathleen and I live, work, and worship in Sycamore, Alabama. I have previously read “Made to Crave” and was wishing I could be involved in a M2C bible study. Thank you!!! I’m hoping to learn to crave “spiritual food”, become healthier, change my sedentary ways and lose weight!

  307. I’m Beth from Tulsa, Oklahoma area. I’m excited to crave the things not if this world and hopefully allow Jesus to transform my physical body into something that I can feel glorifies him. I can’t wait to dive into this study!!!!

  308. Hey! I’m Michelle from Natchez, MS. I want to gain a stronger relationship with God. I want to crave Him over anything else! I hope to lose some pounds while gaining strength in Him. Ready for this journey!

  309. Thank you for this opportunity! This will be in first online bible study and I am very excited. I just got the book in the mail. Looking forward to making new friends, becoming closer to God and losing weight, too!

  310. Cathy Webb says:

My name is Cathy from Western Maryland& I am excited that this study is conveniently offered online ! I bought the book a while ago but did not read it. Now I pray that God helps me to learn from it how to be the best “‘temple of God” that I can be so as to serve Him better. What a blessing to study with so many ladies!
Wishing all of you an awesome journey in the study and a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year !

  311. Devin McManus says:

I look forward to learning more about God and coming closer to him.

  312. Hi, My name is Beverly and I live in the city of Nairobi, Kenya. I have hungered for a deeper relationship with God as a woman and chased after my purpose for so long I had reached a point where I didn’t think it possible to attain. Then the Lord begun to show me Bev through His eyes and daily I am in awe of how He sees me and what He has planned for me. I live, breathe and dream my purpose. Lately I have been through an intense ordeal with the illness of my father and I feel the need to go deeper in God and deeper in the Word and deeper in prayer. I pray that Made2Crave will help me achieve that: A Deeper Level in Christ.

    • Hi Beverly,
My name is Angela. Am really sorry about what you are going through but take heart and trust in God for everything. As you strive to get closer to God the more He gets drawn to you, so take courage.
I have just joined online Bible study and I was just wondering if you’ve purchased Made to Crave and if you would kindly tell me where I can get it..
      thank you and be blessed.

  313. Hi, my name is Alicia and I live in Thompson Falls, Mt. I have been working on getting closer to God the last few years. One of my Teacher told me about this OBS, so here I am. I find it interesting that the 1st class I am taking also work on my other big problem. I need to lose 150 lbs and have been work on it. So it will be interesting to how this class will help with everything.

  314. Sue Zemaitis says:

I joined the study as soon as I heard about it. Then I read that it had to do wit dieting and I said not for me. What denial I am in. I just had a heart attack and definitely overweight. With each Bible study my relationship with God has grown. I am looking for a deeper and more stable relationship with God. I will continue to pray for everyone. Have a Blessed and Holy Christmas

  315. Hello my name is Linda and I live in Rochester, NY. This is my first OBS. I am seeking a deeper relationship with God. Thank you for this opportunity!

  316. Hi! I’m Shalena. I live in Pascagoula, MS and am sooooo very excited to take this study! I’m ready to lose my anxious thoughts and replace them with God’s word! I pray each person in the study will be touched by God just the way that feel I am going to be touched by Him through this study! Yay Lysa!

  317. A month ago, during one of my quiet times with the Lord, I began praying for and calling 2014 a year of transformation. This Bible study couldn’t be more perfect! Thank you!

  318. Beth Thompson says:

Hi, I’m Beth from Wentzville, Missouri. My church will be offering M2C as a small group for some ladies–and I thought I’d get a jump on them. I’m looking forward to receiving the revelations I need to get my health in order!

  319. My name is Amanda and I live in Texas. I work part time at my church and have 3 children (ages 9, 5 and 4). My husband is in the Air Force so moving has become a way of life for us. Not having family and friends nearby is hard for me so I turn to food for comfort instead of God. I want to learn how to turn to God and nothing else! And I would like to make friends!

  320. Artemis Vasdekis says:

Hello! I’m Artemis and I live in Thessaloniki, Greece. Though I was born in Greece, I’ve lived in the U.S. (Rochester, NY) most of my life until 12 years ago when I moved back here. I look forward to this because it’s been difficult making friends here, and I don’t have the Christian fellowship (Prov. 27:17) here that I had back in NY. I look forward to this because I really want to commit to God, craving him first and above all, and hopefully the other cravings will slowly dissipate. I need to lose about 30 kg (66 lbs), but mostly just want to be healthy, get my energy back and I know that is what God wants for me too (3 John 1:2).

  321. I live in Havelock, North Carolina and am eager to lost the weight through closer relationship with God. I have been struggling to get closer to God even though I know that I depend upon Him for everything. It’s just not the relationship that I want it to be. I am pre-diabetic, and I don’t want to be diabetic, so losing weight and getting more healthy is a must for me. I was invited by a friend at church to do this study, and I can’t wait to start!! Thanks to Amanda for inviting me!!

  322. My name is Dana I live in Georgia. 2013 has been a very challenging year for me personally, in many ways because I let myself get too distracted by other things in life and didn’t always seek GOD first. My desire for the New Year and with this OBS is that I will always put GOD first in all areas of my life, and that I will also be able to get a handle on the yo yo dieting I’ve done all my life. I want to CRAVE GOD every minute of every day rather than food.

  323. Merry Christmas! Excited to start the study with you all. I am looking forward to craving God instead of all the trash that runs through my head. The enemy has found a nice perch on my shoulder. When I crave God there will be zero room for any of the fallen world’s garbage! Preparing myself, patient in God’s path, looking forward to January!

  324. My name is Ashley and I live in Aurora CO with 4 great boys and my husband. I am so looking forward to putting my focus on Him and NOT food. I am turning 40 this summer and have a goal to loose some weight before hitting that milestone. I am hoping for great things through this OBS!

I too crave my God and want so much to be closer with him. I also yo yo with my food cravings and diets. Have for many years now, I have issues with my health now from weight gain and would like to lose it and keep it off. I know it will be a challenge but I also have a husband who loves me and will totally support me in this simply because he loves the Lord and believes that through Christ makes us strong enough to do anything! Looking forward to January

  331. Hello, my name is Melissa and I live in Glen Allen, Va. I am truly happy to be participating in the M2C OBS. Struggling with being overweight has been a way of life for me for too long. I know my family worries about me. But, I have finally decided that I want to be healthy for God, not for other people’s opinions. God gave me this body to glorify Him and I need to concentrate on that. :-)

    • I’m not too far from you, Melissa, in Ashland. I’m praying we both will find victory in Jesus and make HIM proud. I’m over it too. Let’s do it!

      • How exciting that you are so close by! Maybe we can meet in person some day. Yes, I hope and pray that I can make HIM proud. :-) Yes, let’s do it! Merry Christmas to you! :-)

  333. Hi, my name is Lisa and I live in Michigan. I am looking to crave God not food. I want to draw closer to Him and give Him glory in how I eat. I am praying for God to give me the strength and discipline I’ll need to turn away from unhealthy food and thoughts and turn towards God in prayer and scripture.

  334. Hi, I’m Ann. I pray for all of us on this journey, that we would learn the our Lord is sufficient. To comfort, to fill, to satisfy. I personally need to learn to quit filling my soul’s holes with food, and things, and let his Spirit fill my empty places instead. I need to lose weight for health reasons, and I know I cannot do it on my own. I know I eat for emotional reasons, to dull the pain of the past and current disappointments. I pray I learn to crave Him more than anything, and let him satisfy the longings of my soul. Yours too.

  335. Tracey Jolly says:

  337. Maria Wood says:

Hi my name is Maria, I am really looking forward to this study. I have already reached my goal weight and I discovered that there was so much more to loosing the weight then just that. Mentally I had things that were not healthy. How I saw myself was so much more then the weight. I bought this book before I lost weight and I couldn’t get a lot out of it, but after I lost weight and realized just how low I felt about myself the Lord brought it back to me and I picked it up and started to grasp what Lysa was saying. I am looking forward to being healthy spiritually now that I am healthy physically, I bit backwards, but grateful that God brought it back to my attention.

  338. Hi Everybody! My name is CarolAnne, from Williamsport, PA. I love these OBS from P31 and am looking forward to Made To Crave, and trying the new format! I have too much to do, and often love to read and eat to forget all those to-do lists…not over-weight, just good at finding “other” things to do instead of the “real” work that is on my list…want to continue with learning to get closer to God and really hear His Word and obey it. Love to All who are with us on this journey : )

  339. Tracy Tucker says:

Hey Everyone my name is Tracy from Georgetown TX. I started on this weight loss journey about a yr and half ago. It started with a sermon series my pastor was preaching on called Breakthrough Summer. God so spoke to my heart about breaking my stronghold of food. I started the next day … soon after I found this book and have read it at least 8 times. I quickly realized when I am happy .. I eat, when I am nervous… I eat, when I am sad .. I eat, when I am mad … I eat. After many many many journals where I poured my heart out to God instead of eating ….. I lost 40 pounds. I spoke to Him when I was happy, sad, mad, nervous and just plain hungry. I find myself at this point of realizing this is going to be journey and not a destination and I need some reminders and support to continue and maintain this attitude of total dependence on God.

  340. Hi, my name is Kelly. I am from Durham, NC. I have a 10 month old daughter and we are new transplants to the area. My husband are here with a small team leading a new chu plant.

  343. My name is Betsy. I live in Altus, Oklahoma. I love to teach the Bible and to learn as much as I can. When I moved to Oklahoma 7 years ago I wore a size 28, I am now a size 18. I need to lose more weight. I don’t diet, per se, but I try to eat healthy foods and now crave fruit and veggies. I look forward to this study.

  344. Hello my name is Terri. I am really excited to do this study and get closer to God while learning better habits with food. I have never done an on line study before. It sounds like a lot of fun.

  345. Kathy Chojnacki says:

    Hi ladies!
My name is Kathy (everyone calls me Kathy Cho!) and I live near Kansas City in Overland Park, KS. I just completed A Confident Heart OBS and now I am hooked! What a wonderful way to be involved in a study when it is so hard to me to get to church for anything besides worship. It has literally started a change in my heart! As I become more confident I know that I need to make changes physically. I have been considering a rather rigorous and expensive weight loss program (that worked for me in the past) but something has been holding me back. I now believe it is the M2C study that we are about to embark. I am terribly nervous as I know God gives us challenges to change our hearts. I also know that I have not been successful in weight loss for several years, and for the first time in my life, I am starting to believe the lies in my head that tell me my weight is the reason I am still single at 35. I know that God sees me as more precious than gold, but it’s time I get my body back to the healthy temple He created. I absolutely can’t wait to work with my Jesus Girls (a term I saw in one of the posts and I love it!)! I hope to dive into this even more than ACH and be moved to crave my Lord. I pray for all those joining the study and those even considering it – may God move their hearts to join us. Thank you for making this available! My prayers for us all begin today!

  346. My name is Tina and I’m in Northern California. My sister actually posted this on her fb wall and I was interested and so I told her lets do it together. I love my Jesus and see his hand in my life in so many ways, and I just don’t always feel worthy and so I want to crave him and get to know Jesus so much better through this study.

  347. I am a busy mom, successful business woman, and preacher’s wife who feels like everything comes before my relationship with God and taking care of myself. I want to reprioritize my relationships and put God in the place he deserves to be in my life, numero uno. I want to fall in love with him and his word all over again to be a better example to those around me, including my young sons. I also want to make fitness and healthy living a part of my daily life so that I can achieve some type of balance in the midst of chaos. Anybody with me?!

  348. Hi! My name is Johanna and I’m from Ohio. I truly hope to develop a deeper relationship with God! I pray I am able to turn to him in my times of need. I want God to be what I turn to first…for prayer, for discussion, for joy. I pray the same for all of the wonderful women in this study as well.
    God Bless,
    ~Johanna

  349. Teresa Suttles says:

Hi, I’m Teresa from Greenville, SC. I bought the MTC book and workbook about 6 months ago. I started it but never got too far. I am expecting the accountability of the OBS to encourage me to complete this and become closer to my Father and a healthier me to be able to do His will. I would love to lose 40 pounds in the coming year. I crave your prayers and will be praying for all participants of this study.

  350. vicki mutchler says:

Hi everyone, my name is Vicki Mutchler from Coleman, WI and I really need this study and am praying that God will be glorified through it. I’ve had an obsession with food as long as I can remember and am tired of turning to it instead of God. My heart desires to do what’s right but I’m so bound up in the chains of this sinful habit that I don’t know where else to turn. Thank you in advance for allowing me to be part of this, my goal is to turn to God not food and have the victory that God has already promised me.

  351. Michelle Angel says:

Howdy, My name is Michelle and I am from Pearland, TX. I bought the MTC book over a year ago and started to read it but stopped. I am hoping and praying for accountability and to learn from other women who have the same struggles as I have. I am also looking to gain more insight into who the person I am suppose to be through God’s eyes. Also looking forward to change my habits and change my view of food. I am excited and nervous but looking forward to what God has instore for me.

  352. I’ve read this by myself during my weight loss journey in 2010 until now. It helped me a great deal. However, I still go back to that unhealthy way of wanting to overeat for stress, sadness, anxiety, etc. I want to be in OBS group because I feel that it will help me be accountable & draw closer to
    Jesus! I can’t wait – group #56 yay!!!

  353. Hi I’m Jill from boiling springs SC I am so excited to start this journey with y’all ! Thsnk you all for your hard work ! I hope to gain a more craving for God. To learn to turn to him instead of good for comfort . I’m a late night eater I need to stop that. It’s bc I get stressed at night when I should be sleeping instead I eat. I’m doing better but I would like to loose more weight . Eat healthy and crave God more. I’m also starting the Daniel plan too during this with our church. So I will be so lucky to have you all encourage me as I will try my best to encourage you all too! Can’t wait ! Merry christmas and happy New Years !

  354. Antoinette Castillo says:

Hi! My name is Antoinette. Everyone calls me, Ant. I live in Tulare, CA. I had purchased the ebook a few months ago and have been waiting to read it for the perfect time. I signed up for the online study as it seems as the timing is right. I struggle with food in a big way. I have had some health issues recently related to my weight and in the middle of the grocery store the holy spirit said to me in a clear, loud voice, “why don’t you turn to me for ALL of your needs?”, “why do you turn to food?” “I am ALL you need”.. gulp.. I was convicted and free’d all at the same time. I have since changed my eating habits but the new, healthy way seems ‘old’ already. I need to learn to depend more on God to get me through this and to crave Him for ALL of my needs. As a single mom my needs are many and are variety. I am looking forward to gain friendships and accountability partners. Xo

  355. Hi my name is Deborah Taylor and I am excited to start this new online class Crave. I want to Crave more of Jesus And less food.

  356. Hello,
My name is Roberta and I originally hail from Pittsburgh, PA where I lived until I married my wonderful husband of 29 years , Carlos. We currently reside in Statesville, NC with our two daughters and our 3 blood grandchildren and our 2 adopted grandchildren. I am so excited to be doing the Made To Crave Bible Study with Proverbs 31 OBS because I really am looking froward to really digging deep into this book and receiving revelation that will help me to become more intimate with God and hunger for him instead of food and I believe that it will enable me to also help others in their struggle with this issue. I am a leader in a group called TOPS(Take Off Pounds Sensibly) and I receive a great deal of valuable information on an array of things dealing with weight loss, nutrition, emotional eating, etc, but I can not wait to apply God’s truth that I know will be nuggets and treasures all throughout the book. I believe that study will not only apply to my overcoming eating issues but it is going to minister to the “whole person” in each one of us. I am praying for each one of us who are about to embark on this journey and I am honored to be doing MTC with you. If this your first Proverbs 31 OBS, welcome and get ready, get ready, get ready, you will never be the same and you will find friends, love and acceptance here with leaders who are not afraid to be real and share their struggles with us so that we will realize that we are not alone in our struggles. I love this group and I also want to send greetings to all my lovely ladies in Group 18!!!

  357. I am looking forward to the M2C bible study. I read the book a few years ago and was compelled and inspired to really pursue a relationship with God. I didn’t lose any weight but I’m looking forward to changing bad habits this time around.

  358. Hi there! My name is Teresa and I live in Northern CA. I have struggled with my weight since I was a teenager. Food has been my “friend,” my comfort, my reward, etc. I have turned to food instead of to God. God has really helped me in the past two years to begin breaking free from the bondage of gluttony. I thank God that I’m not where I was, but I’m also not yet where I know God wants me to be. Every day is another step closer to the goal. I thank God for courageous Christian sisters like Elyse Fitzpatrick (author of “Love to Eat, Hate to Eat”) and Lysa Terkeurst who are willing to be transparent before us and share with us their own struggles and victories in this area.
I have purchased the Nook edition of M2C and have already begun reading it. I am looking forward to this Bible study and to the friends I hope to make along the way. Melissa, I am praying for you and the rest of the P31 OBS crew who are preparing for this journey. Thank you for YOUR willingness to be transparent and vulnerable before us as well. I am also praying for the rest of you, my dear sisters in Christ, as we walk this pathway together. :)

  359. I am excited that you are doing this online. I already have the book and have been wanting to do the Bible study that went with it in a group setting. I could never find everyone who was able to get together at the same time. Thank you. This being online should help me to complete it. I am going to share this, so that hopefully some of my friends will join, and we can discuss it in more dept.

  360. I don’t even know where to begin. When I met my husband, I weighed 275 lbs. He was madly in love with me. The day I gave birth to our daughter, I weighed 324 lbs. During the past 3 1/2 years of her life, I lost over 100 lbs, and got down to 220lbs.

My husband and I were the worship leaders at our church and glorified God together thru blessed music. We were also the youth leaders, and loved every minute studying with our precious teens! Then he stopped. He quit everything and is angry with God. He won’t come to church. He cusses out God and mocks Him, even in front of out daughter.

I’m lost. All the joy, and most of my faith, has been sucked out of me. I’ve stopped leading worship because I can’t bring myself to do it. And, leading the youth feels like a chore without my husband.

Even though I had lost over 100 lbs, my husband has said very mean things about my body – has said that he’s not at all attracted to me – has even compared my naked body to my obese father’s (yes, compared me to a man).

These events have triggered a firestorm within me, and I’ve gained 30 lbs in 6 months. His criticism makes me fatter by the day. I’m miserable. I’m sad. I’ve stopped praying. I still go to church, but the spark is gone. I don’t have any words to truly describe how I’m feeling. Ugly is the first that comes to mind. I’m hoping this study will be what I need to get back on track. I need help. I’m lost.

    • Yvonne Chapman says:

I can’t imagine how lonely you must feel and how betrayed by the mean words you have to listen to. I believe God is going to do a mighty work in you–he has a plan to use all of this for good. That heart-voice is the one to listen to, I think, and I just pray that it will become louder than the lies. I hope you are with loved ones and can have a Merry Christmas.

    • Oh Marie. My heart just breaks for you. Please keep holding on to the hope that our Lord provides. Please know that God is going before you even now. He makes a way where there seems to be no way. He has plans and a purpose for your life. Marie, for now just please keep praying and believing that our Father has great plans for you. He did not create you for hurt and sadness. He rejoices over you, His dear daughter. He loves you so. This study is going to be such a blessing to you. God is going to move. That spark will return and you are going to have a multitude of new sisters by your side. :) I’m praying for you. Hold onto that hope that our Father has put in your heart. That hope that brought you here. God bless you and keep you.

  361. Yvonne Chapman says:

Good evening. I was well into writing what I thought was an inspired introduction, when it suddenly disappeared from the screen. Nope, it’s not hiding. I then got a gentle nudge which told me to “be real’. So, let me try again with His help. Lord, I beg your mercy on me as I enter this group, where I believe that Your answers and directions will be found. Let me speak and hear truth. Amen. OK. I’ll be 68 in February. I’ve been divorced since 1988 and raised 4 children pretty much on my own. I’m a registered nurse and was forced to retire 2 years ago, mostly for health issues. In September, I had a vertical sleeve gastrectomy (weight-loss surgery) I’ve lost about 50 lbs, but I’m starting to eat unhealthy things again. I can only eat small amounts at a time, but I can’t shake the grazing habit. I weigh under 300 pounds now for the first time in over 35 years, but it’s not enough to make me happy, or to give me the want-to. Since I can’t currently drive and have to use a scooter for mobility, I’m stuck at home unless one of my kids takes me out. I have people who say they are my friends, and I believe them. They feel like friends on Sunday morning, but, none come over and the phone doesn’t ring, I want to be a passionate, committed, godly woman who turns to the Lord for answers, instead of to food. I’d rather be wrapped in his grace than in a sub sandwich! I want to be the one making the phone calls to the lonely ones who have given up. The old-fashioned friend who stops by to visit. So, here I am. I hope you will pray for me — for my change of heart and mind, for my commitment to this study, and that some of us will become friends of the heart. I also ask for prayer == I am having a total shoulder replacement on 12/31 and will be spending 2-3 weeks in a rehab facility.

    • Father God, I lift up your sweet daughter Yvonne to you. Lord I pray that you give Yvonne the strength to make real lasting life changes where her heart, her mind, and her whole soul follow hard after you. Father I pray that the purpose you have set for Yvonne comes to pass and that this study be the catalyst to the changes she so desires. Father I pray for wisdom on behalf of the surgical staff and rehabilitation facility as Yvonne receives and recovers from her shoulder replacement surgery. In Jesus holy name, I pray.

Yvonne. YOU can do this. And Yvonne, even now you can be that friend to the lonely. No, you may not be able to drive out to visit right now but you can pray for them and perhaps (and I really encourage you to do this) write them small notes of encouragement. Even a note a week would not be too costly but could mean so much to someone who may be feeling just as you are. God has gifted you with this desire to touch the lonely because you know how it feels. Reach out sweetie. I look forward to getting to know you through this study! God bless you and Merry Christmas! :)

  362. Hi! I’m Kim and I am a missionary wife living in Japan. I have struggled with my weight all of my life. Living in a country that is not my own can have daily stresses that almost always sends me to food. I’m hoping that through this study I will learn to rely on my Lord instead of food. I’ve read this book before, but hoping to get some encouragement through this study and maybe some accountability. I’m seeking a renewal in my relationship with the Lord. I’m tired of struggling and going it alone. I need His help. I can’t do it without Him. I’m not excessively overweight, but if I don’t get things under control, I will be. I also have high cholesterol and would like to get that under control without meds. Thank you for doing this. I am really looking forward to it.

    Merry Christmas all.

  367. Gladys Hall says:

Correction: I will pray that this obs will help direct my cravings and stop these cycles.

  369. Misty Cox Henderson says:

My name is Misty Cox Henderson and I live in Radford, VA. I have struggled with using food in other ways other than fuel for my body. I want to focus on Jesus being my resource to deal with emotions and I want the focus that only He can bring. I want more of Him and so much less of my own efforts. Very eager to begin this study.

  370. Kathie Small says:

My name is Kathie and I live in Danese, WV. I was so excited when I first read about Made to Crave and the Online Bible Study. I, just like many others, have struggled with my weight for years now and I too am tired of the Yo-Yo life style. I Need to make God a priority in all things, so Why not in my weight loss journey too?! I look forward to meeting and getting to know may new friends here as we all walk this path together.

  371. Hi, my name is Sandra I live in Greenville SC I am so glad to be participating in this. I have the book and I am ready!

  372. Katie Gould says:

My name is Katie Gould. I am from La Porte Texas, near Galveston and am looking forward to filling myself with Jesus! I am in a bit of a dry season and am feeling a little distant from Him and think this is just what I need. Been so busy with other things that I have let it get to a point I’m not comfortable with. Ready to be back at His feet and meet lots of God women!

  373. My name is Jill and I live in Ashburn, VA. I have the book – and the concept is like nothing I’ve seen before. I recently joined Weight Watchers with excellent results, but the issue of craving Jesus over food (yes, I am like the rich man) is something that is so core to our developing into our true selves that I am absolutely in! Can’t wait!

    • Weight watchers is a great program–I am a lifetime member. But…it is still a struggle and I absolutely have to go to meetings and doing additional things like this study.

  374. Michelle L. says:

This Sounds like the Type of Bible study I’ve been waiting for. I am 41 yrs old. Live in NW FL and crave food all the time. Hoping this study turns this craving for Jesus and God.

  375. Nora Clapsaddle says:

Snowy greetings this morning from Northern Illinois. I am experiencing a lot of mixed emotions about starting this study – excitement, apprehension, fear of failure, nervous about my ability to quit my dependence on sugary and processed foods. I accepted Christ as my personal Savior 40 years ago in 2014, but have yet to give Him full reins – mainly where food is concerned. I am a nurse and not only does my weight make me feel like a fraud, I know I would have so much more impact on my patients if I were walking the talk! I have never done much of anything “on line”, but I am committing to seeing this through!

    • Hi Nora! This is only my third OBS but I know that the impact is amazing. You will meet so many wonderful encouraging individuals here who are also taking the same steps we all are. God will see us through this! Praying for you!

  376. Hi, my name is Kris. I live in Wisconsin and am currently enjoying a beautiful snowy morning. MTC was recommended to me by a friend and I started reading the daily devotional which led me to P31 website which led me to the upcoming bible study! I’m excited to begin this study to learn to satisfy my cravings; my true cravings. I’ve had a love/hate relationship with my weight all my life (I’m 54) and never considered it was really my relationship with God that had me craving. I look forward to “meeting” all of you and to walking closer to Him.

  377. Kathie Waters says:

I am Kathie Waters, and I live in Malta Montana. I have struggled with my self-image as it relates to my weight since high school. I got really unhealthily skinny my senior year, then fought my first battle with major depression the summer between my first and second years of college. I gained a lot of weight in a very short time. I have been up and down SO many times since!! I am just so k of trying. This study will be my second OBS and I look forward to time with other women, and learning about myself. I look forward to finding ways to fill my empty spaces with God not food. I also want to continue steeping myself in the Word, which I began with the last study and find I truly enjoy. Thanks for doing these online so they are accessible to so many of us!!

    • Girl, I can so relate. I went through horrendous weight issues all of my life from anorexia and bulimia to gaining massive weight due to hypothyroidism. Either way, I am tired of food leading me around by my nose and tired of worrying about what my looks say about me rather than what my God says about me. This is my third OBS and I can’t wait. I look forward to seeing how God will move in all of our lives. :) God bless you and Merry Christmas. :)

  378. Kathie Waters says:

I had meant to mention that I am 41 years old. For some reason it feels important you know that about me!

  379. Hi I’m Kathy, from the Houston, Tx area, and I hope to figure out how to sign up because I know I try to fill my void with other things that just leave me empty. Especially not a good feeling this time of year… Looking forward to the teaching and support!!

  380. Hi, I am Debbie Jo…..I am so excited to do this study again!!! I am praying for God’s presence in my life in regards to deepening my relationship with Him…..AND, to give up the “food addiction” to HIM and begin new healthy life habits guided by HIM!!!!
    Thank you, Daddy God….

  381. Hi all. My name is Jess and I’m from Poughkeepsie, NY. This will be my 3rd (or 4th, I forget) time reading Made to Crave but first time doing a study with it. I love the book but have had problems putting it into full practice so I’m hoping this well help that. I’m fighting a sugar addiction and would really rather be addicted to God :)

  382. Carolyn Lindquist says:

Hi my name is Carolyn and I’m from the Kansas City, MO area. I’m a retired teacher (last spring) after 30 + years in education. Last year was a rough year with many changes good and bad. (lost my mom in January, retired in May, living in a messy house [because of things I've acquired from my moms death, retirement, things my dad insists I have because he wants to get rid of it, and just not feeling like or knowing where to begin with the clutter that surrounds me], being a grandma for the second time, and demands from my dad…)like i said it was a rough year. I’m a stress eater, a happy eater, and I need to replace my food craving with God craving and healthy habits. This will be my first on line Bible study and I’m looking forward to taking part and I pray that this will be a REAL life changer for me.

    • Carolyn, I am so sorry for your loss and all the things that have rolled along with it. I haven’t done this study yet, but I know it is time, and I know it will speak to our hearts. I pray that the Lord will guide you through this and that you will establish many friendships to help you along the way. God bless you!

    • Carolyn, I can relate to your year. I retired 9/30/12 and found out I didn’t know who I was or where I was supposed to be or do. The man I was dating decided to “just be friends,” and a long time friend living in a nursing home was moved to memory care. She has dementia–and though she usually knows me, that sweet friendship is no longer there. I will be praying for this study to be a major encouragement in your life as well as mine.

  383. Hi I am Brandy, living near Jackson, TN now. Just wanting to be addicted to God :) This will be my first time reading a book by Lysa. Its sounding good so far so can’t wait. :) Hopefully it will help me adjust after my divorce as well.

  384. Looking forward to this opportunity…

  385. Mary Jean (Jeannie) McBroom says:

My name is Jeannie from Shreveport, LA. My niece, Kristy, ministered M2C to her Bible Study Ladies & gifted me w/this book a year ago. She’s my inspiration to participate in this online bible study. Praising God Together!

  386. Melissa A. says:

My name is Melissa, and I hope to gain from this bible study a deeper desire for God and less desire for food when I am emotional! lol Oh wait, that would be all the time! hehe I want to gain good eating habits and better relationship habits with my Lord. I actually bought this book, and the two study guides to go with it, several months ago and started to read it and laid it down, so I had decided that I needed to let this be the next book I read and had set my mind on it when I saw the offer of the bible study and jumped on it. I have little will power as you say, and want more Jesus power to make my will power stick! Thanks for offering this bible study which I intend to pour myself into.

  387. Kelly Wise says:

I am Kelly and I live in Jacksonville with my son, 14, my daughters, ages 5 and 2, and my loving, exasperated husband, Brian. I have tried to do bible study a zillion times, but only recently has the desire come on to actually give it some effort. I have also recently started exercising; I even have hired a personal trainer, but I know that most of my problem with eating is my lack of motivation and boredom and filling my time with food instead of God. I am so excited about this study and can’t wait to get started!

  388. Hello! My name is Tracy and I live in North Dakota. Ever since my son was born in 2012 I have felt this need to renew my faith life and help set a strong example for my son. My friend has done OBS with this group before and she continually forwarded me studies until I finally signed up! I’m glad she was persistent :). I have also made huge strides in my relationship with food but still feel the need to “relieve stress” by indulging in something bad for me. I’d like to overcome that once and for all in the new year and make God more present in my life.

  389. Cheryl Deville says:

Hey, I’m Cheryl and I live in Roxie, MS. It’s a tiny town just off highway 84, blink and you miss it. I truly hope to gain a deeper understand of God and his word. I need to learn to crave him above all else. I hope to find a sisterhood to help me get through the hard times. I want to develop healthyhabits and make 2014 a much better, more fulfilling year.

  390. Mabel Jones says:

My name is Mabel and I live in Midland, TX. Of course I would really like to lose some weight but more than anything I want to learn to love myself. Because you have to love yourself before you can love others, right? I think the only way I can achieve this is through a deeper relationship with God. I’m looking forward to hearing from others who share some of the same issues that I do.

  391. Shawn Walton says:

Hi I’m Shawn, I live in Sacramento, CA. I’m married for 14 years and we have two kiddos ages 10 and 8. Our 8 year old is on the Autism Spectrum and I NEED Jesus every day. I’m in my 4th year of recovery from food addiction. Jesus as gotten me so far in my journey. I attend Celebrate Recovery and work my 12 steps, and I work with a Beachbody coach who helps me with exercise and nutrition. I think MTC will add another layer to my journey. I want more Jesus!! I have learned a lot in the last four years, hopefully God will allow me to share some of me to help someone else in the process. This is my 3rd OBS and I am super excited!

    • I can relate to your comment about needing Jesus everyday. My 7 year old son has high functioning autism and ADHD, which is exhausting. My 11 year old daughter resents her brother because of the time I spend with him and is constantly annoyed by him. I hope you get a lot out of this study–I know I will.

  392. I’m Sue and I am currently living near Huntsville, AL. This is my first online study and I’m giving credit to Missindeedy for getting me interested.
I’m hoping to once again feel God’s spiritual power in my life choices. Craving him, and basically being sustained by Him, and not all the ways and things of this world.

  393. Hi I live in Brownstown,MI and looking forward to loosing weight, making new friends, and getting a deeper relationship with God. THANK YOU for having the MTC bible study. And Merry Christmas!!!

  394. My name is Maria. I’m 34 years old and have battled weight my entire life. I strayed away from God for a long time and have recently started to walk with Him again. I’m still learning to desire His will and to crave Him. This is my first online study and can’t wait to start!

    • Maria, your heart is a great place to begin. I am so glad you are in this study. This is my first time doing Made to Crave, but I have done the other two before this, and it has been amazing. :)

  395. teri andrews carpenter says:

I am new to OBS. I was a late in life overweight person. At 43 a sizeable 8 and by 53 a16. God has gotten me thru much worse, and a childhood friend suggested your study. I would like to be in group 2 with Dottie Claytor Jackson. I look forward to studying the Bible and being encouraged and encouraging other Chritians.

  396. My name is Emily and I just recently purchased the book, guide and devotional. I am from Indianapolis and have recently began to realize that I need the Lord’s power to get over my food demons. I have a lot of weight to lose and I am ready to give it to God and let him lead me. I have experienced fertility issues and feel that by becoming healthier and stronger, I may be able to finally conceive the baby my husband and I have been hoping for.

    • Oh Emily, I couldn’t help but stop so I could tell you that you are in my prayers. God can and will do mighty things for you. I keep thinking of Joshua 1:9 Be strong girl, be courageous. The Lord is going with you wherever you go. (Obviously I am just paraphrasing). Praying for you and your husband! Looking forward to studying with you! :)

  397. Hi, I’m Martha from NC and (like Melissa) have yo-yo dieted for many years. I am a sugar/sweets addict. I can usually manage to eat healthy portions of other foods but not sweets. Nope, crave them all the time and overeat them! I just want to be able to learn to use food as God intended…..as fuel for the body, His temple. I am beginning to have negative health effects from this extra weight and just am tired of feeling yucky! I read through these comments and can identify with everyone! God bless us all on this journey ahead. Thank you P31 for OBS and offering this study!

    • Martha, I can so understand where you are coming from. Sadly I am salty sweet and want it all. I am ready for the study. I know how bad I need it. I pray that God will really speak strongly to your heart during this study and before. I get the negative effects too (I am getting winded way too easy). Praying for you! God bless you. This will be an amazing study and a whole new year. :)

  398. Hello. I am Roe from Florida. I want to grow in my relationship with God and learn to go to him first instead of food. I use food for bad times, good times, bored times. I need new healthier habits. I am tired of feeling disgusted with myself for my habits and my body.

  399. Hi, I’m Carmen from Indiana. I am so looking forward to this study to just plain get my “crave on” for the Lord..I too am so tired of my eating issues, and want to establish better ones. Thank you Ladies for your time..Praying today for a touch of the Holy Spirit!

  400. Hi! I’m Bonnie from Iowa. I participated in this study a few years ago. Made some progress then took a hit from life with a divorce and the complications that brings. I need some reminders of what my cravings really are and why. I’m looking forward to doing this study again with new views….my own and others. Thanks.

  401. My name is Lindsey and I pray through this study I gain a new perspective about food. That God helps me with my dysfunctional relationship with food. I pray I replace my dependency on food with a complete dependency and craving for christ!

    • Father God I pray that you provide Lindsey with the strength to triumph over the dysfunctional relationship with food. I pray that daily, Lindsey will grow stronger and that she will draw closer and closer to you. Amen.

      You can do it Lindsey!!!!

  402. Hello all! My name is Teri from Northwest Ohio and I am thrilled to partipate in this book study!!!! I bought this book a long time ago on my Nook and would start it, and forget about it! What I read was great, and I know sharing in this adventure will make me stronger! Thank you!!!!!!

  403. Hey there! First of all, I’m beyond excited about this study. My name is Kelly and I am from Prescott, Arizona. For all of my life I have had a dysfunctional and downright odd relationship with food and my body. My family members were ALWAYS on a diet. When I drank my first Tab (yeppers this is a LONGSTANDING issue), I truly felt like I had stepped into the world of grownups. I was 10 years old. I began to measure success by the control I had over food — I might add the control that no one else in my family had. I have ridden the roller coaster since then. Anorexia for over a decade was followed by a brief stint of feeling normal, but really not being there.
All my life I wanted that desire for God that was stronger than anything else. I don’t want to fill the void with food or anything else. When I am depressed I don’t want my response to be to run to food or run from food. I want to already be resting in the loving comfort of my Savior.
I have been seriously counting the days for this study. I have shared it with friends and coworkers (and I am going to be sharing it on air – I’m a weekend DJ- and I have also shared it with one of our program producers in hopes that more will come on board). I’m ready to fight the real battle. I hope the call series doesn’t go away (it was a lifeline even though I couldn’t listen live). I plan to get every resource I can.

Father God, I would like to offer up prayer for success for all the women entering into this study. Father please provide rest for the leaders as well as strength. Father I ask for angels to surround these dear women to fight off negativity. I pray that they will always know with assurance that this work they do is so worthwhile. I pray that they will be blessed as they also pass on this blessings. I also pray Lord that the women who desperately want to participate will have the opportunity and Lord for those who are not aware of this study yet but need it so, I pray that the doors and windows of opportunity will spring open. In Jesus name I pray…Amen.

  404. My name is Beth and I am from Virginia. I attend weight watchers and have a lifetime membership which means I am supposed to be on maintenance. But…I still struggle and still want to eat more than I should. I know what to do to loose weight–all the tips and tricks==the recipes, etc. but I still struggle with motivation and my weight goes up and down quite a bit. I hope this study will help me to make peace with food and to help me get closer to God and find out why I turn to food instead of him.

    • I also failed to mention that I am 48 years old, married, have two kids (7 year old boy with high functioning autism) and an 11 year old daughter. I also work full time.

  405. Hi everyone, my name is Ellie. I’m a junior in college studying speech therapy, and I’m so excited for my first online Bible study! I’m active and not too overweight, but I struggle with being controlled by cravings (I love sweets!) instead of by a craving or desire for God. I’ve gained and lost weight several times, but I want to be equipped through this study to seek God through my whole life, instead of just for the results, which just leads to gaining the weight right back. Can’t wait t to learn together!

  406. Cindy Winter says:

My name is Cindy and I live in Eastpointe, MI. I’ve heard so many good things about the Made to Crave Bible study from the leader of our ladies’ group at church. I’ve always gotten excited about starting a new study, but have a hard time following through unless I have someone doing it with me. I am praying that I will lose weight, but more importantly lose my laziness when it comes to spending more time in prayer and Bible study. I’ve been a Christian since I was 4 years old and as a wife, mother of 3 and grandmother of 5 I want to be a godly example to all of them of what a Proverbs 31 woman looks like. I want my relationship with Christ to be fresh again!

  407. Hi, I’m Kelly. I’m from Greenville Virginia. I am thankful that stumbled across this bible study; it is the right time for me and my heart and mind is ready for this change! I have had this book and study guide for 2 years now, but unfortunately my willpower hasn’t been strong enough to overpower my habit to eat when I’m stressed :) my I’m ready and I need to make this change. I am hopeful that this will help guide my cravings back to God and away from bad habits! I pray that we ALL have a wonderful success story!

  408. Praise the name of the Almighty God. am in Kenya. am happy to have found this site and wish to join the on line study. this i believe with the kind of love that i have in the word of God it will even create more intimacy with my TIME WITH GOD moments. Hope to make may friends as i go thro this journey.Thank you

  409. Becky Richardson says:

Hey I’m Becky from Easley, SC and I am so excited to be taking part in this, my very first OBS. I hope to walk deeper and further with God than ever before. I’m praying for everyone involved and waiting for the journey to begin. God bless!

  410. Elly Smith says:

    Hi,

My name is Elly and a friend told me how this book had changed her life. I bought a copy and have been reading it and doing the studies. I have not found a partner, although my husband is very supportive.

I am nearly through the book and find it very inspiring and helpful. I have lost many pounds and gained many pieces of knowledge and wisdom, not necessarily related to the weight loss but often allowing me to go beyond weight loss to spiritual growth.

Today I have just reaped the disappointment of having eaten five or six chocolate chip cookies, not to mention a week or so of being remiss in my commitment to eating healthy. This is the first time I have gained pounds since I began this journey in August. I shall spend a lot of time today getting back on track by praying and doing another chapter in “Made To Crave”.

So, you can tell I need a spiritual partner and pray that joining this OLBS will fulfill that need!

  411. Dawn Johnson says:

My name is Dawn. I’m from Edinboro, PA. I love Proverbs 31 OBS. I’m looking forward to growing and loosing at the same time. I’ve invited friends to join me on this journey and am looking forward to experiencing this OBS with them.

  412. My name is Ann Axman and I am from Kansas. I am hoping to learn to crave God and to turn to him first instead of food, or mindless activities. I have been feeling a little distance from God due to a move to a new home and a new job all within a 6 month period, so I am hoping to get a good jumpstart to learning to lean on him.

  413. Hi! My name is Christine and I live in Miami, FL. I’ve had food issues all my life and I’m finally doing something about it. I’ve been looking for bible studies that center around this problem (among many) that I have. I’ve been documenting my stuggle on my blog (jsttrstgodgrl.com) but that doesn’t make it easier. I honestly want to meet other women and have that support. If those women are in Miami, even better. I’m looking to shift my focus from food to God. I know I lack where God is concerned and I really hope this study allows me a closer relationship with God. I’ve never really had a spiritual mentor so maybethe support I can find here will help too.

    Thanks,
    Christine

  414. Michell Jurski says:

Hi, my name is Michell Jurski and I live in Cypress Texas. I am so excited about this study as this “food obsession” has become increasingly overwhelming lately. I’m in my mid-forties, single, my daughter just got married and my 2 sons are in college. I find myself at the most oddest moments NEEDING to go eat or spend my nights perusing the drive-thru! I purchased Made To Crave last year, but never opened it up. God knew that I needed to work through the When Women Say Yes to God OBS and A Confident Heart OBS first! I am ready, praying and desiring more of God and developing a HEALTHY relationship with Him and with food! Thank you Proverbs31 Ministries for caring about us enough to help us and challenge us!

  415. Sheri walton says:

  416. Sydney Roach says:

My name is Sydney Roach and I live in Amarillo, Texas. I have taken the M2C class at a local church in addition to referring to the book (often!) with an instructor/owner of Live-Well-Fit (who designs fabulous motivating challenges, exercise, and nutrition guidance). My hearts desire is to go deeper in a relationship with God and see the changes and transformation that brings. I am also excited to hear about other people’s struggles and successes. When I think I have this “craving” food thing kicked, it suddenly appears and I fight the battle again. My love to you as we march shoulder to shoulder and become the “over-comers” we were designed to be.

  417. Mandy Shelton says:

Hi everyone! I’m Mandy and I live in the small town of Olin, NC. I have read MTC on the Bible app but like many, have fallen into the “on again, off again” routine of eating healthy. I LOVE to workout but really struggle with eating healthy to make my efforts in the gym worth it. So, I hope that going through MTC with the OBS team and all of you will help me to truly turn from craving food to craving God, the one and only who can help me overcome this obstacle. Merry Christmas to you all!

  418. Hi! I’m Rebecca and I’m from San Angelo, TX. I have struggled with food my whole life. About 5 years ago after having my twins, I lost 55 lbs. I learned a lot on that journey, primarily, that I was eating for many reasons besides hunger. I was eating to fill a hole and being a Christian I knew it was a God shaped hole but I didn’t know how to fill the hole spiritually. I have kept the weight off, but I still have a short distance to go to be my healthiest. I’m so excited for this Bible study and the connection to others going through the same journey.

  419. Stacy Meyers says:

Hi, my name is Stacy. I am from the Johnstown, PA area but would love to move to the Charlotte, NC area someday. This will be my 3rd Proverbs 31 online bible study and am really looking forward to Made to Crave. I feel I do crave God but also crave many other things in this world. My hope from this study is to learn how to crave God more than any other thing in this world. In addition, I am looking forward to meeting new friends and spreading the love of Christ. I am in a Facebook Group (#59) and am hoping to be placed back with these ladies. I loved sharing A Confident Heart with them. I am looking forward to starting up again. Until then, Merry Christmas to all and may the love of Christ fill each of your hearts so you have no choice but to spread the love!!!

  420. Cindy Smith says:

Hi! My name is Cindy and I live in Indiana. My divorce has just been final. I am also in a relationship that is not good for me. I have learned to love this man more than I love myself and it needs to stop. I struggle with so many things that he requires and it is causing me not to only find my cravings in food but now in alcohol. I’m afraid that if I don’t find the strength I need in God I will give in to all of this man’s wants and needs and I will be left cash poor and broken hearted. I want to begin a new life with my divorce final and this man out of my life. I want to be fit and happy with me.

  421. Hello, I am Kathy Streb from Fletcher, Ohio. I am hoping to finally change my life so that I can get healthy and crave God rather than things. I have struggled with my weight and craving food for most of my life, and I’m ready to change this path so that I can live a long and healthy life.

  422. Hello everyone. I’m Sharon and I live in a small east Texas town called Palestine. I’ve never participated in an online study before. I’ve been losing weight this last year since being diagnosed with diabetes but still have a way to go. I am hoping to learn to focus on God….to crave Him…..and focus less on myself. I am feeling blessed to be doing this with so many dedicated women.

  423. Merry Christmas, Everyone! I’m Deb and I live in Maine, currently buried under about an inch of sleet/freezing rain, with more to come. I’ve done the MTC Bible study with my Ladies’ Group last year, and was totally amazed by it; in fact, I lost about 23 pounds by using the Bible study and participating in a personal training program at the Y. But ~ when the personal training program ended and the Bible study group ended, my commitment to MTC slowly slipped away, and I have now gained back all that I lost.

I’ve tried to do MTC over and over by myself, but I never seem to get past the part about it being Spiritual Warfare. I do crave God and I love being in that place when I crave Him more than anything, but I just can’t seem to be “in the moment” to remember to NOT stuff my face until AFTER I’ve swallowed what I didn’t really want in the first place. I don’t want this anymore, and I pray this time this study will be different…for all of us.

  424. Hi, I’m Emily from Marrero, La, just across the river from New Orleans.
I’ve been overweight all my life, and I’ve let it hold me back from achieving my goals and living a free life. I’ve had MTC sitting on a shelf for at least a year now, having read the first few chapters and loving the wisdom that it held, but never taking it further. I got married in March and I know that the only way to be a good wife is by becoming the woman God created me to be and by breaking the chains that hold me. I hope that here I’ll find the help, encouragement, and accountability that I need to both lose weight and become the woman God created me to be, as well as Crave Him as my abba father, and my king.

  425. I am from a beautiful town in Eastern South Dakota and am new to OBS. I started my own business about a year ago and with a husband, three kids and a part-time job it is very difficult for me to carve out time for study and healthy eating. I talk to God all day long, but need to get better at quiet time with Him. My husband and I are in our early 40′s and both bigger than we have ever been. Heart disease runs in my husband’s family and I would feel so guilty if anything happened to him because I wasn’t cooking healthy.

  426. Hi, I’m Tammy and I live in Athens, Ohio. I have never actively participated in an online Bible Study…I’ve signed up before, but failed to follow through. I am hoping this one will help me with my food cravings – if I can lose some weight, too, that’d be a wonderful bonus – and other cravings I have which are not food. I am just truly hoping for some sort of personal growth that will allow me to be more aware of what is guiding my actions, or luring/tempting me in different directions, when I know I’m drifting from my relationship with God. Looking forward to this!

  427. Marie Barba says:

Hi! My name is Marie Barba and I live in Roseville, California. I have been continually doing the Made to Crave study on my own FIVE times now over the last year and a half! Each time through I have received different insights and have learned so much about myself and how craving GOD and not other things is really my biggest desire and what I need most in my life. I have lost 40 pounds but have begun to struggle and have gained back a few. I still need to lose 40 more…My hope and prayer is that doing this Bible study online I will receive even greater insights and will be able to FINALLY conquer this food addiction of mine! I am so excited for this to start! Marie Barba

  428. Hi, my name is Debbie and I am a California girl. I am hoping to crave God more than anything else. Losing weight would be an added bonus!

  429. Hello! My name is Tracy and I live in Ontario, Canada… I have the book, video and devotional which I have been through once with a group of women from my church. This will be my first online study and I really look forward to studying the book together and making some changes in my life and most especially in my walk with the Lord. I pray that this time will be the time I commit and stay committed to healthy changes in my life.

  430. Carissa D. Huffman says:

My name is Carissa. I live in Bettendorf, Iowa–our town is right on the Mississippi River. I really need to crave God more than security, more than physical comfort, more than wanting everything to be easy. I have read and studied Made to Crave before, so I pray that I will get some new gem from the Lord this time. This is a kind of stressful season, and I need to build more confidence in Jesus.

Thanks to all you sisters who labor in the OBS ministry! I love you!

    Carissa in eastern Iowa

  431. Hello Ladies,

My name is Gina and I live with my three children in East Texas. I have hesitated in taking this study before because, though I have some unhealthy habits, I do not struggle with weight. (Genetics, sorry!) But I am now over 6 years in being single and recently had a terrible experience with relationship fraud. I felt so low….I’ve seen so many women getting married the past six years and I keep waiting for my turn….only to end up having horrible experiences. That is when it finally hit me…I do not crave food…I crave the presense of a man! So now I can see where I need help focusing on our Lord.

I am making progress….I finally bought myself a small wedding band and had the following inscription added, “Isaiah 54:5-6″ to remind me that I am not alone and I have a heavenly Husband who is here to provide and protect. It is true….I am made to crave! Time to focus my desires in the right direction.

I look forward to reading and praying with you all.

    • Hi Gina!
No need to apologize for good genes. :) I haven’t read the book yet, but I do believe this goes way beyond food. Just like you said how you have craved the presence of a man. I think there are plenty of times when our attention is divided into far more places than they should be. I am so glad you will be a part of this study! I love your verse by the way!

  432. marcia mason says:

Hi,I’m Marcia, I’m from Lex KY.I’m excited about this study. I’m hoping to realize that spiritually craven is more important than the food I’m always hungering for. I need to for a more craven for Christ than for my desires.

  433. Angel Richardson says:

My name is Angel. I’m from Missouri and I am hoping to learn how to change how we eat in my family and grow closer to God.

  434. I live in a Cedarville, Ohio…a town with a Christian university. I am single with no family. When I saw the promo for this Bible Study, I thought, “What I crave is love.” I have been a believer for a l–o–n–g time, yet I have lost that craving for God, for knowing Him intimately, and for believing He craves a deeper relationship with me. I’m hoping this study will bring me back to a real craving of Him, instead of going through the motions or finding other things like food in an attempt to satisfy that longing. I want to crave His love and know that it is enough.

  435. My name is Erin and I am from Rochester, NY. I am a child of God, wife, mom, employee, manager and a mess! I participated in my first online bible study with “A confident Heart” and loved it. It is my hope to continue to draw closer to God, make friends, gain some mentors. I am currently struggling with so many things and feel so alone and through your online study “A confident Heart” I realized that so many of the thoughts in my head that I struggle with are lies from the enemy. I can’t wait to begin this study and finally change myself with the strength of the Lord.

  436. karen clemens says:

My name is Karen Clemens and I live in Mohnton,Pa. I am looking forward to the M2C bible study to strengthen my relationship with God and to find the reasons I turn to food instead of Him. I also hope to meet some new friends and lose some weight. I heard this saying the other day and I thought it was so true, “it’s not what your eating thats making you gain weight it’s what’s eating you.” So I need to find out whats eating me!!!

  437. Dorothy Watts says:

Literally, the length of my life and the loss of pain are directly dependent on the amount of weight I can lose. I can do nothing in my own strength, or should I Really say the lack thereof. BUT I can do it through Christ who has love for me to help He has gifted me beyond measure in being a true encourager This is a tool he is using to refine me and test me to see if I am serious about serving him.

  438. Hello, My name is Dawn and I’m in San Antonio, TX. This will be my second time reading M2C, and I’m praying my craving for the Lord will come “alive” and my craving for other things will die. I’m a mom of 10 with 7 at home today. I’ve home schooled for 24 years and I’m ready to “feed” me and “work” on me more than I’ve ever been able. Can’t wait to get to make friends and learn more of my Lord than I’ve ever known.

  439. My name is Casey, I live in Nashville TN. I want Jesus to do only things he can do. I am tired of food ruling my life and satan enjoying my constantly being defeated. I have done all sorts of diets, failing everytime and have issues with food ever since I can remember… I want Jesus to change my bitter heart.. I want Jesus to take control and me quit taking the control…. I am very excited about the study and accountability and encouragement that I will have this time around. My husband jokes around and calls me crabby fat and last night I told him… You have the crabby me and I am working on the fat..

I know he is kidding but constantly being called crabby and fat for the past 3.5 yrs…. I’m miserable… I am so ready for Jesus to not only do a physical make over but an internal one too..

I just pray I will stic with it

  440. Lori-Ann Uber says:

My name is Lori-Ann, and I live in Wesley Chapel, Florida! I am a mom of 2 grown children, well almost, my daughter is 21, living at home while attending college and working a part time job teaching 4 year olds, and my son is soon to be 17, March, and is a Junior in high school, heavily involved in band! My husband and I have been married for just short of 22 years, and he is still the love of my life!

I am excited to start {Made to Crave}! I found the Proverbs 31 Ministries a few months back, and signed up for the daily email words of encouragement devotionals and have been encouraged daily! I have read through many different devotionals, read through my bible a few times, but I have never felt such a more perfect place for ME! When I read an email about the upcoming bible study, I knew I had to participate! I have been a Christian for 18 years, and more recently felt “unconnected”, no matter how hard I tried! I haven’t strayed from God, just strayed from taking care of myself, spiritually! I, like a few others, pray that I will stick with the study, but I am looking forward to being a part of this, and growing, and changing, in all HE would have me to become!

Thank you for your interest in ME!

  441. hi there I’m Gillian from the united kingdo. I’m really excited for this study and I pray that it brings me closer to God that I learn how to crave him more than food and that food no longer stays an idol in my life

  442. Hi. I live in the beautiful Sierra Nevada moutains in California and this is my first online Bible Study. I have always craved the wrong things it seems. I am sold out to Jesus and want to keep him first in line.

  443. Hello! My name is Michelle and I live in Northwestern Illinois. Right now it was snowy and cold outside but it is warm in my house with my two boys playing inside. I have struggled with my weight since high school. Events on my childhood led to my attempt to use food to protect and comfort myself. Having two children helped push my weight gain to 100 lbs. Now I am over 40 and I know that I can not lose this weight on my own. I know that I need God’s help and I know that OBS work!
I am ready to put on my walking shoes, ready to learn to crave my Savior in a new way, putting my food issues in his hands. God has the victory….always!

  444. My name is Wadene and I desire to honor God in every way; our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit and I don’t want to abuse it. I’m looking forward to learning more and becoming closer to the Lord, with my daughter who is doing this with me.

  445. My name is Cindy. I am from Elkins, WV. I hope to gain a much deeper relationship with my Lord – grater dependence and reliance on Him. I also want to eradicate emotional eating and become more physically fit. God bless you all! Merry Christmas!

  446. Hey all my name is Erica and this is my forst online study. I attempted to do Made to Crave at my church but had scheduling conflicts. Looking forward to hopefully getting a hold on myself, my eating and my relationship with God here.

  447. Hi, I live in Prescott AZ and I’m really looking forward to this study. I want to crave God above all else in my life. I want to run to him always instead of food.

  448. Michelle Laney says:

Hi! My name is Michelle and I live in Riverside, CA. I bought the book a few months ago and then happened to see you were going to do MTC for the next study. My first thought when buying the book was to help me lose weight but as I’ve been praying about it I really do want to crave everything Jesus. To not crave anything that does not praise The Lord weather it be good, tv or music. I just want to crave The Lord more! Looking forward to this study!

  449. Leeann Rodriguez says:

Hi! My name is Leeann and I live in Philadelphia, Pa. Im realy looking forward to this study! I can’t wait! I realy want to crave the Lord more, but I also want to lose weight and meet new people that have the same idea as myself. Lysa is such an AWESOME writer and im so glad she is a part of this. Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year Ladies!!!! And most of all GOD BLESS!!

  450. Hi my name is Andrea and i live in chandler, Arizona.
I hope to continue growing with God and to begin to break the chains food has over me.

  451. Hi, my name is Stacie and i live in Terre Haute, Indiana. I have struggled with excess weight most of my life. In my early 30s I lost over 100 pounds and loved the attention…(something I had never had before)…I ran marathons and half -marathons and enjoyed being able to buy whatever I wanted off the racks. As I’ve grown older (44 in a week), I have watched the pounds and the fat reappear. Its discouraging and I have also found that my self-esteem and who I see myself as is wrapped up on a number, instead of my heart and who I am in Christ. I want to do this study to be accountable and to learn to no longer “idolize” a size, but my learn to put my health, spiritual and physical, first. I’m ready to heal from years of insecurity because of my weight.

  452. Hi, my name is Gail and I live in Live Oak, FL. I hope to lose weight and get healthier while gaining a deeper relationship with our Wonderful, Creator God and Praying that my friends, new friends and I have success on our journey
    “Made to Crave”.

  453. Deb Sanders says:

Hi, my name is Deb & I live in Chambersburg, PA. I want to be able to crave my Lord more than I have ever craved food in my life. Last year I lost 30 lbs & joined a gym. I still work out most days of the week, but my weight has been at a plateau for months now. I have been feeling so good since I lost the weight & have been exercising. I feel more confident about myself, my clothes fit better, but lately I have put back on about 8 lbs & I know I need to stop this trend. I know I can do this with God’s help & I think this study will be a great way to get closer to God & learn to turn to Him instead of food. Thank-you for doing this study! I think my daughter may do this study along with me.

  454. Hi, my name is Tang from Malaysia. The title ‘Made to Crave’ is indeed a timely on (which I believe it’s in God’s plan) – O Lord, may You stir up my heart and soul to ‘crave’ for You more and more each day. I need to re-focus my life… the direction of my life should be aligned with You – O Lord. Show me the light of Your way as I pursue to ‘crave’ for You, My Lord.

  455. Hello,
My name is Christi. I am from Southaven, MS, just across the state line from Memphis. I am hoping to grow in my relationship with God as well as gain some perspective on a healthier lifestyle. I have taken several online classes through school but never a Bible study. I am looking forward to this experience.

  456. I hope to have amore focus on God rather than food. “turn your eyes upon Jesus, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim” I have struggled with dieting all my life.

  457. Hi my name is Elna, I live in a little town called Heidelberg in the Western Cape in South Africa. This is my 3rd OBS and I’m really excited. When I read Melissa’s comment I started to cry as she has said exactly what I want to get out of this study. I have a very bad weight problem and the harder I try to get it under control the worse it seems to get, so I am trusting Jesus that He will truly become my deepest craving and with His grace that I will overcome.
May our precious Lord bless each one of you as we each learn in our own way to crave HIM.
    Love Elna xxxx

  458. Hi, Im Gennifer;) I live in Florida and am excited for the Made to Crave series. I am hoping to grow in a more deeper and intimate relationship with Christ and truly ONLY crave HIM. I am looking to make new friends and supportive sisters in Christ;)

  459. Hey my name is Brenda and I live in Harrisburg, NC right outside of Charlotte, NC. I hope to gain a deeper relationship with God where I crave Him above all else. Unfortunately due to some challenges I have faced this past year, I am sad to say that I have not always turned to God….I have turned to food for comfort. My prayer is that I will turn to God in every situation. I am so excited to walk this journey with some beautiful ladies and hope that we can encourage one another along the way.

  460. Beverly Gerres says:

Greetings From Beverly in South Mills, North Carolina “The Great Dismal Swamp” HAHA just thought I’d add a little Bigness to our small Little Town. I am looking to gain some self control through this online study. Not just about eating but also about my daily Bible Study and some other habits like biting my nails just to mention in case anyone else out there has one of these annoying habits. This will be my first online bible study and I am truly excited about it. *See u all soon

  461. Hi I am Stefanie from Memphis and am SO looking forward to what God will do in this study. I have participated in your last two studies and they have changed me! I love OBS and what God is doing through y’all. I hope to gain through this study total reliance on God and to walk away from those material things that bring me comfort when I am stressed or upset. I want to be healthier in every way spiritual, physical, mentally. Thanks for all you do OBS. God Bless you!

  462. Kathryn Fosnaugh says:

Hello, I am Kathryn from Carson City, NV. I need something that will get me out of this weight gaining craziness. I seem to always want food. I have gained so much weight that I don’t like to go out in public, but do, just because I have to. I am praying this step will help me get my body back in control and my mind back to the Lord.
    God bless,
    Kathryn

  463. Jeanne Yates says:

My name is Jeanne and I live in Fort Dick, Ca. way up on the northern Oregon and California border, amonst the giant redwood trees and the beautiful Pacific Ocean. I hope to also stop this yo-yo relationship I have had with food for years. I lost over 72 pounds a couple of years ago but think I have gained at least 30-35 pds back. I hope to fall more in love with Jesus and let Him guide me in each and every part of my life. I want to make new friends and prayer partners. i love the fact that we can share our hearts and know that OBS prayer warriors are praying for me and with me and knowing that nothing is too small or unimportant for our prayers. I love the fact that I am no judged by my OBS family and you all are in this boat with me and on this trip alongside me. I want to grow in the knowledge and nurture of the Lord.

  464. My name is Lisa and I’m from Bloomington, IN…this is my third OBS but my first time through Made to Crave. Feels like my millioneth attempt to lose weight; however, it is my first serious attempt to do so in connection with a bible study book and Christian small group. I attending a group study once with 6 others from my church but only authentic participation was in attending our group meetings and forming new friendships. Appreciate others admitting that this is there second or third time through Made to Crave as it better prepares my mindset to give the study my full attention knowing the journey will involve hard work. Encouraged to show off the Confident Heart and be able to rely on our tools from Renee Swopes to help push through the intense times and truly know I’m made to crave only my Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ!

  465. My name is Evanique and I am from Philadelphia Pa. This is my first online bible study and my first time reading Made to Crave. This is the first time I have taken a spiritual approach to weight loss. I think the spiritual part is the missing link for me. I have done so many diets and have wasted thousands do dollars on trying to lose weight and nothing has stuck. I pray that I get to the bottom of this problem as I already have diabetes and hypertension. My doctor says they are both reversible w/ healthy eating and exercise. I just lose motivation really quicl. Hopefully with this new approach and accountability it will work this time. Hopefully after this I crave Jesus like I crave sweets.

  466. Hi, I’m Trina from Cedar Hill Tx. I hope to gain a closer and deeper relationship with GOD.

  467. Hi!
I am Pamyla from Lucerne Valley California (a very small town in the high desert). I am so ready to crave God instead of food as so many others. My prayer is for Jesus to fill me and satisfy my hunger, not food. Looking forward to ending this unhealthy cycle with all of you!

  468. Hi my name is Heather and I’m from Newalla, Oklahoma. What I hope to gain from this bible study is a closer relationship with God and rely on him to help me with my weight loss journey. I have diabetes and have to loss weight and get healthy.

  469. This will be my first time going through this bible study. I am 32 and a mother of 3 children ages 9, 6 and 4. I have had emotional/disordered eating problems my whole life and have felt captive by this addictive behavior. About a month ago I came to the realization, like a light bulb went off in my head, that I wasn’t valuing myself at all! I was constantly allowing myself to feel the martyr and victim. Because I didn’t know how to manage my emotions I naturally sought comfort in the most readily available and potent drug there is, FOOD. Not just real food though, you know what I’m talking about, chemically modified imposters! In my realization I have found a peace that I can only describe as being sent from GOD. I am valuable! I don’t need a crutch! What great timing this study to come along. A friend told me about this and while most of the time I shrug things off and don’t get involved, I know I need this support. This is not only about losing the pounds of fat (emotions I didn’t want to deal with) but draw close to God and allow him to be my all. I have found it very helpful for me to learn moderation through adding my food into a food tracking that has been downloaded onto my phone. This allows me to see how much my body TRULY needs for nourishment and how much needs to be filled by GOD. I’m excited to have a work begin in me.

    • Wow… Our stories sound very similar! Id be happy to keep contact with you through this journey if you’d like! I know I need all the encouragement and accountability as I can get! Good luck to you and hope to hear from you!

  470. Karen Harris says:

Hello! My name is Karen and I live in Oakes, ND. I have previously done this bible study with a wonderful group of friends. I have already learned so much….but I know that there is still so much information to pull from this book. Yes, my goal is weight loss. But, my ultimate goal is to be better equipped to model a healthy lifestyle and a close relationship with Jesus for my five little girls. I make sure they have full tummies. I make sure that they are warm and safe. But most importantly, I want to make sure that they are Jesus Girls!! I do not want them to have to have a life long struggle with weight, like their mom has. I know that with God, all things are possible. So…I do not know why I have never associated my weight issues with that slogan. I am excited to get started!

  471. Marie Bishop says:

Hi girls, I’m Marie and I live in the Northern KY/ Cincinnati area. I saw this post on face book, and jumped at the chance to join a great group of ladies in Bible study! I love God’s word and His ways, and am excited to learn and grow and make new friendships. I am leaning towards a goal of going back to school, (perhaps a good online Christian school/Bible college) and I am learning to become a better/stronger prayer warrior. I’m excited to see what the Lord has in store for us in the new year!

  472. You know, gut honesty here: I have no idea what I’m looking for in this study! lol. I started the book in June and got sidetracked by life. My family and I have taken some extremely hard and life changing knocks in the past few months so I guess I need some encouragement, some light at the end of the tunnel and some extra closesness to God. Well, what do you know about that? I guess I do know what I’m looking for in this study after all. :)

  473. My names is Teresa……I live in Tavares, Fla……….I have been dealing with the cycle of weight all of my life. This will be my first time to include a Bible study with the dreaded resolution that this will be the year I do not fail. Dont know what to expect but I love the thought of a closer walk with my Lord. He has brought me thru other areas…….I know I can only gain solace and peace…………………

  474. Lynnai Bowlin says:

I am looking forward to being filled with Jesus and to put an end to my yo yo weight and to look to him for my gratification and confidence,

  475. My name is Joyce and I live in southwestern Indiana. I bought Lysa’s book, Made To Crave last summer and since have lost 40 of 100 pounds. It has been lonely not having anyone with whom to share this joureny. I am so looking forward to reading all about you and appreciate each and everyone of you. My greatest desire is to have nothing between me and my Lord. I want to learn to turn to Him as my first response rather than food. I want to crave Him and not food. This isn’t about losing the weight, it is about getting my priorities straight. Matthew 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” I want my treasure to be Jesus.

  476. Hello everyone! I am Sarah, I have never participated in an ON A before looking forward to it. I hope to deepen my relationship with God, and not just eating food because we have it around, I want a healthier lifestyle for myself and my family :)

  477. My name is Rita and I am from northern Virginia. Last year I struggled to loose 10 lbs. It all came back during the last month. I ate one cookie and that led to dozens more sweet treats. I recognize that I am addicted to sugar and my recent blood tests were not good. I am a Christian who loves Jesus but am sad to say I never related my sugar issues to a spiritual issue. I am loving that idea. I want to learn more and apply those principles in my life. I am looking forward to doing that with the support of other Christian women.

  478. Angie Sutphin says:

Hello my name is Angie and I am excited to start made to crave. I am do ready to lose this weight and find myself and my walk with The Lord to be stronger. With the help of proverbs 31 and the OBS ladies and mt lord and savior I GOT THIS!!!
    Love to you all

  479. Kelly Atay says:

This is Kelly in Silverton OR. I have done this study twice….half heartedly. maybe THIS time…. I think God has given me a little something different each time. Looking forward to the study.

  480. Becky Fuentes says:

My name is Becky & this is my first OBS!! So excited to begin the year with a bible study & looking forward to smarter choices spiritually, physically & emotionally not only for me but most importantly to glorify God & be an example to my family & friends.

  481. My name is Paige and I’m from Richmond, VA. I hope to (finally!) rid myself of this distraction that has haunted me over 1/2 my life. This struggle with food. This filling myself with anything other than my Jesus. I want to feel good about myself and not have that lingering disappointment in my heart that mocks me in my spiritual walk. The feeling of not being in control. Not having that fruit of the spirit. I pray for all the ladies involved in this study. That we will hold on to hope that we CAN have victory through Jesus in these strongholds. I want to accept that the longing is there for a reason and then to actually fill it with the right thing! Thank you, Jesus!

  482. Hi my name is Penny. I live in Mesquite Texas, 53 years young, single, have a beautiful daughter and grand daughter who live with me. I was fabulous at 50. Or at least I thought so. My second marriage ended that year and that was a big relief to me. I felt like me. As in most case I lost weight. I met up with an old high school boy friend and we have been together ever since. I guess I started getting lazy with myself a couple of years ago. I look in the mirror and think who have I become. I took an inventory of the relationships in my life and it is like early on I take care of myself then let myself go. I am worthy, I matter, I am beautiful inside. I am ready…

  483. I tried to sign up and kept getting the error “email address must contain a single @.” It did and I sent it anyways and have not received a confirmation email yet. What should I do to be sure I am involved?

  484. My name is Genny Hart and I live in Delaware, Ohio. I want to become a good steward of my body. I want God to break my heart in regard to my food addiction and help me to release to him my compulsion to overeat and/or eat the wrong things. I hope to become the best God inspired version of myself that is possible so I can glorify God in all areas of my life.

  485. Hi! My name is Tonya. I am from a small town in eastern Nebraska. As a single parent it is often easy to forget I am not alone. I am excited to begin this study and work towards the faith filled and joy inspired life God wants for me.

  486. Hi! My name is Phyllis and I’m from Southern Alberta, Canada. I’ve never done an online bible study so am looking forward to this. My weight has been a horrible struggle. I’ve done many “diets” but always gain everything back. I seem to always be hungry and have no control to stop eating – once I start I go till everything is all gone – not good! – terribly frustrating. As I draw closer to God and turn to him for help in this area of my life I am looking to this study as a learning tool and a source of encouragement to make wise choices, and to really learn how to honor God with a healthy life style.

  487. Darcie Inkpen says:

Hi, I am from a small-ish city in Alberta, Canada, but currently live in a HUGE city – Changsha, Hunan, China! My family (me, hubby, and 4 children – 14, 12, 6, 6) moved here to do HIS work about 16months ago.
Throughout the years i have done Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig (where i did lose all my weight, just a few years ago) and Beach Body. I know i am addicted to sugar (I’m doing a 21 day sugar detox starting Jan 6). I have a sweet tooth (or 2 or 3 or 4,…). I have always had a sweet tooth. Like I said, I lost weight a few years ago and in 2009 was at my goal weight. In 2011 i started putting the weight back on and now have gained 40 of 55 I lost. I have done triathlons in the past and want to get back to doing that! I really miss the me that was very active and could keep up with my kids. I have become quite lazy again with this weight gain. Ugh, I hate it.
The other day I came to the realization that I turn to food (for any reason – happy, sad, bored, angry etc) because it is something I can control. This is more important to me now that we live in a culture where I can barely control anything. I want to hand over my food addiction/sugar addiction to God. He has the rest of the my lift – I let Him have control over where He moved my family – and He chose China of all places!! I feel that if I allow myself to have no control over anything then I’ll fall apart, but in reality, He is the one in control – ALWAYS!
So, I am here to lose control, which in turn, will put me in control – in control to choose God, to choose happiness, to choose joy, to choose life, to live life,
    Im ready to lose control.

PS: i love to write, so my comments or replies probably wont be so short and sweet ;)

  488. My name is Jennifer and I live in Danielson, CT. My husband bought me the book for my birthday back in August. I started to read it and then life got in the way. I have been battling with weight my whole life. I think the bigger battle has been where God fits into my life. I know he is my Savior and that I have been saved, but I still haven’t 100% given my life over to him. I know I need to put him first, but struggle with how to do it. I want to learn to crave God above all other things.

  489. Tommy Girl says:

My name us Tommy and I live in Missouri. I have had the book on my Kindle for about 2 years. In the first year, my BFF and I were studying it together and meeting for accountability each week. Time, families and other obstacles interrupted that plan and my book is just sitting there on my kindle waiting to minister to me. I have about 80 pounds of excess me that I want/need to release.
I know that with the support of this group and a dedicated effort into my walk with God, I can end this battle once and for all.

  490. Stephanie in Mobile, AL. I am trapped in my own fear (many reasons) to give up what I have considered my comfort, safety, my hiding place that I have found in food…in volume and all kinds. I need to relearn how to take comfort from Jesus and stop using excuses to bury myself in food. Learn to trust Jesus in all areas of my life.

  491. Evonne Boggs says:

My name is Evonne, I am 58 years young. I spent 21 years in the Army but after retirement and a couple of surgeries I have continued to gain weight. Now with arthritis knocking on my door each morning it is even harder to get motivated to exercise. I know that God has more for me to do and I am committed to treating this temple better. My daughter has been doing wonderful things with her health the last few years so we decided to do this Bible study together. She is in GA and I am in TX – this is a great way to do a mother-daughter event!

  492. Christine Robbins says:

My name is Christine and I live in Norman OK. I am hoping to gain a better understanding of God and what an important part He can play in my life and weight loss. I know if I can start to trust Him He will meet all my needs and I will be able to trust myself. I am an emotional eater with a lot of past baggage that I am working through. This is just one step in my recovery process but I am not comfortable with how I look and how I eat. While I gain a better understanding of myself I am hoping to lose a portion of the 100 pounds I need to make my body healthier.

  493. Hi! My name is Amy and I am 43 years old. My hopes for this study are to grow my relationship with God, continue to educated myself about living a healthy lifestyle, and finding friends in Christ that I can connect with through the journey!

  494. Brenda Krick says:

Hi! My name is Brenda . My hope for this study is to always put God first. To know He is an ever present help, a friend
that promises to always be there. I have struggled with weight for a long time. I lost some weight in the past 2 years, but
am starting to gain again. I want to trust God instead of turning to food when stressed, tired, lonely, or feeling overwhelmed. It will also be wonderful connecting with Christian friends through this study.

  495. Hi, my name is Judi and I’m from Lexington, VA. My hope for this study is to consistently crave God on a daily, hourly, minute by minute.

  496. Hi! My name is April and I am from Mansfield, TX. I hope to grow my relationship with God to a much deeper level and learn to crave Him more than anything else. I also hope to gain a healthy life and lose weight, learning to ditch the cravings for unhealthy foods.

  497. Hi, my name is Pamela. This is my first online study. I decided to join because I need to lose weight–a lot! But I love the idea of working toward that goal by being a part of a community that is looking to Jesus to meet our needs. As I’ve read other people’s comments, I too need to fill the void in me with Jesus’s truth, not food or things. I have two young boys, both of whom have food issues–one because of allergies and the other because of sensory and feeding issues. I constantly am surrounded by food choices/needs/decisions. It has become a weighty matter on me (no pun intended). I pray God will use this study to bring me closer to where He wants me, to afford me the peace I can have in Him, and to enable me to make the best choices in foods for myself and my family given our needs. I pray the Lord will bless us all with His grace and mercy in the midst of this study.

Unfortunately, I sometimes let the world (people, job, things) crowd Him out. I know it boils down to discipline, in ALL areas, putting Him first and all else will fall into place, right? So if I know this in my head.. why is the follow-through so difficult sometimes? I need to change my focus. I need make my focus putting Him first in everything. The timing of this study is perfect! Time to do away with old destructive habits and develop some new healthy ones!

My plan is food (journaling in myfitnesspal.com); fitness (3 days cardio/3 days strength), focus (made to crave), and support from my family and friends.

We love being able to work with our other sisters on line and help each other even though we are so far apart. After the Confident Heart study I am ready to tackle the Made to Crave study. I have battled food all of my life. My name is Karen & I’m starting MTC for the second time. The first time we did it as a group in our church, but I wasn’t really tuned in & didn’t get as much from it as I should have. I’m hoping this time to gain some consistency & make more progress both spiritually and physically. As I work to lose weight, I want to replace those pounds with more of God! A great substitution.

  522. My name is Dawn and I have read MTC and enjoyed it very much however doing it solo just didn’t seem to work out for me. I am hopeless midwestern girl that loves those meats and carbs with a plate full…What something is wrong or frustrating ohh let’s go eat!! I am hoping through God guidance and discipline change that mentality. I am glad to be signed up to walk through this journey with others.

  523. My name is Cindy and I live in Salisbury, MD. This is my first time with an online bible study and I am so excited. Hi my name is Virginia I live in Texas, and this morning as I talked to God I desperately asked Him to help me get closer to Him and help me have the motivation to get healthy, and wow as I was googling Christian talk shows I came across this website and Bible study. 529. Hi. My name is Michele and I am from Fargo, ND. I recently turned 50 and have really started evaluating my life. I feel like my life is going in circles because of my weight. I have allowed my weight control me all of my life. Hurts when I was younger was temporarily treated with food. I have learned to medicate my hurts with food to the point I am totally controlled by my cravings. I want to live freely and I want my life to have meaning. I want to serve God fully and know what it means to be truly free. I want to learn how to turn my cravings “addiction” for food to cravings for God to fill my soul.

  530. Jennie Lovie says:

This is my second time doing MTC. I am excited this time to dig deeper than I did the first time. I live in norCalifornia and I am married to a firefighter and have two daughters. I am also a breast cancer survivor, and have been dealing with the weight and emotions from the treatments. It is time to Crave God, and not seek food for comfort..so excited!

  531. Hello, my name is Debbie and live in columbus ohio. I have struggled all my life with some times getting control under my own doing and grew tired. I find I just want to me normal. This is my heaviest weight. I struggle going up steps, my knees hurt. At only 52, I want to understand why I crave food. I want more than this.

  532. Hi, my name is Penny and I live in Maricopa, Arizona. I have been making positive changes with my relationship with food for the last 8 months. Four steps forward two steps back….it’s a slow journey, but it’s mine. God is building a great testimony in each of us. I look forward to integrating this study into my walk.

  533. Hello from Southeast Michigan! I’m Kam from the small town of Tecumseh. I hope to grow in my faith and crave God above all else through this online study. About three and a half years ago I asked Jesus into my heart and for Him to be Lord of my life. I have an awesome church family who has helped me in my new way of living and to understand that God has great plans for me. My faith continues to grow each day as I study God’s Word! However, in the last several months, I have had a new passion burning in my heart…a feeling that I am made for more…a desire to be “all in” for Christ…to be a true follower and lead others to Him. He wants to use me but I need to give up my idols and follow Him only. One of those idols is my love of food (especially sweets), and I do crave food more than God alot!!! Too much in fact!!! Because of my excessive weight, I lack the energy and stamina to get involved fully in many of my church’s outreach events. I pretty much know what I need to do to get healthy, and start out ready to go get it done, but that fades quickly and I lack the want to for complete lifestyle change. I bought this book a couple years ago and started reading it, but only read 2 chapters and got busy and never finished it. Then this past September I visited another church with my niece and they were starting a 6week small group study on MTC the following week. So not knowing anyone from this church, I joined this small group of women. They were a nice friendly group of Jesus lovin, Bible readin women and accepted me even though I did not attend their church. However the study went quite fast and there was alot of homework each week and I got behind. Although I finished the study(many dropped out because of the amount of work required), I did not do all of the work in the second half of the book and just skimmed thru much of the reading. I just have alot of trouble focusing and following thru with a complete study. I have started many P31 studies (OBS) and then I get behind and give up on them. So I pray that I can finish this one completely! I love the way Lysa writes and I can so relate to her…I read something she wrote and say that is just what I was thinkin!!! I know I need to get healthy if I am going to do what the Lord has called me to do…and I know it isn’t just about fitting into a pair of skinny jeans…but it is about changing my lifestyle for good…eating healthy and getting my body fit…having more energy and preventing health problems…respecting the body God blessed me with and making it an ideal dwelling place for the Holy Spirit. I also love the way Melissa leads…she is so real and down to earth!!! Thank you Lysa for writing this book and Melissa for leading this OBS and all of the the others who help make this study available to women all over the world!!!

GO MSU SPARTANS!!! (Rose Bowl-January 1st)

  534. My name is Debra and I am so tired of reaching for food instead of reaching for God. I eat when I am stressed, happy, mad and just down on life. I have had a lot of health issues this past year and all due to unhealthy eating habits. God wants me to rely on Him and not food and I am hoping this bible study will give me tools I need to get where He wants me to be.
This is my 3rd online bible study and I miss them in between! Just finished a Confident Heart and was so blessed by the study. Still finishing up my notes and homework scriptures.
I am looking so forward to making lasting changes in my life with God’s help and getting healthy and more in tune with what God wants for me physically and spiritually. So excited!!
And P.S.: Go Oklahoma State University POKES!!!!! Bowl Bound!!!!!

  535. Hi my name is Tracy, I live in Rock Hill, SC very close to Charlotte ( would love to help at P31) I am looking forward to this time in Gods word to replace what I crave in food with what I long to crave in The Lord. I homeschool three beautiful children and being home all day has always put me very close to the refrigerator. The pantry closet and I are pretty close as well but I know that God wants better things for me and I aim to live a healthy lifestyle.

  536. Maile Riddle says:

Hi, I’m Maile. I’m a 35 year old wife and Mom of 2. I have owned Made to Crave for a very long time and I’ve started reading it several times but always get distracted. I am very excited about this OBS and the connection I will have with others who have the same struggles I have. God ordains the steps of His people and I am so honored that He has guided my steps in this direction. God bless you all. I am praying for each of you, P31 leaders and participants alike. God has plans for us!!!!

  537. Candace S. says:

Hi, I’m Candace. I’m a 48 year old wife, mother of 3 daughters and now Gram to 5 beautiful grandchildren. I’ve had so many health issues over the years, and as far as I can tell they all relate to food. I have to stop eating things that are literally killing me and start eating things that are good for me. I’m praying, as many of you are, that God will give me the desire to crave him and not the gluten filled items that hurt me so badly. That I will be able to stop being such a 3 year old when it comes to food, to let go of the things I believe that *I* want and to be more focused on what God wants for my life. I’m praying for the leaders of this group and each of you as well.

  538. Hi, my name is Michelle. I am 39 years old. I am a wife and the mother of a soon to be 8 year old. I have been on Synthroid for almost 15 years for an underactive Thyroid. But I can’t use that as a crutch or excuse for unhealthy habits and choices. I have always been a yo-yo dieter. As I approach 40 I want to be the healthiest I can be. I want to model a healthy lifestyle for my daughter. I know that includes my spiritual well-being and my physical well-being. I believe that if I Crave God the way I should and fill myself with him first then it will really help with my bad habits. I will truly view my body as the temple of His Spirit and will desire to take the best care of my temple so that He can use me the way that he wants. I pray that each one of us sees God do miraculous transformations in our hearts, minds and bodies. Blessings to each of you.

  539. Hi, my name is Rosanna. I have used food as a comfort tool most of my life. While I know it continues to leave me unsatisfied, I still do it over and over again. I really want God and His promises to be enough! I want to desire more of Him. This is my first online study and is coming at a much needed time as I am feeling the disappointment of unmet expectations as the Christmas season comes to an end.

  540. Hi, My name is Kathy and I am from North Central Illinois. This is my first bible study and looking forward to it. I have yo yo dieted my entire life. I was thin up until my 40′s (just thought I was heavy before). I belong to a nutrition group in my town but don’t stay focused. I hope to meet new Christian friends and get a deeper relationship with God. I am surrounded with some evilness and would like to somehow show these people that this is not the right way of living. I am hoping that through my strength in God that they change.

  541. Hello my name is Jennifer. 2013 was a rough year for my and I’m still dealing with the aftermath of all that happened. I would love to start 2014 off on the right foot and creating a better relationship with God is one thing I’d like to focus on. This is my first time actively (and hopefully I can keep that up) participating in an online or any bible study. I’m originally from Florida but am currently living and teaching in the UAE.

  542. Hello my name is Jacque!
I am so excited to start this study.. I already have the book ~ a friend of mind had given it to me when I realized I have gained alot of weight and lost a lot of self esteem. I have been feeling down because of weight gain.. I really am an emotional eater.. I will get up in the middle of the night and gorge myself until I fall asleep with peanut butter in my hair & chocolate oozing out of my mouth with drool.. :O) eeks I know right!
I crave God alot.. I crave to know Him.. I crave to hear His voice.. I feel like I dont hear it enough or then the enemy sneaks in and I find myself asking.. do I even hear His voice, do I even get noticed, do I even excist in His eyes.. I fear death.. but I know I am going to heaven because everyone tells me I am.. I am anxious and I feel great somedays and other days I feel like.. ugh.. how can I be so full of joy when my mind is battling me with laziness and just want to eat and sleep? Anyway.. I can go on & on.. I am SO pumped about this study.. I pray that I gain great friends and I gain a new perspective on my “cravings”.. I know I was made to crave..but I dont want to crave food.. I want to crave more of our God! He is so good to me and I am so unworthy..
    God Bless.

  543. Hi. My name is Janel and I am from South Dakota. I was a nurse until I became a stay at home mom for our 5 children. I have always used food as my emotional stabilizer and stress handler. I feel like I am at a place that I can finally do this, but I know it will not be easy and I am hoping to find a craving for God stronger than any other craving in my life and to do so beside strong women I hope to make friends with along the way. I can only imagine when the craving for food is out of the way how much more room there will be for Him in my life.

  548. My name is Sandy and i live in knoxville tennessee. I hope to kick some yucky habits and get closer to sweet Jesus..

  549. Wendi Muray says:

I have just signed up! I am no stranger to needing to or losing wight. I was heavy all my life and “dieted” most of that time. In January 2008, ha isn’t that the time we start usually, I joined WWers and lost 132 pounds and even went to work for them. But even though I lost the weight I never felt “successful” or good enough and always obsessed about the number, partly because that was my job now and partly because that is what I do. Well in April of this year I quit my job for two reasons, the most important one was to care for and be available to our 11 year old son that was diagnosed July 2012 with Type 1 Diabetes and the other reason was I just couldn’t take the stress of the job with WWers any longer. Always having to focus and food and a number coupled with the stress of being the primary caregiver to our son. I’m a stress eater, see where I am going! Anyway, I don’t want to focus on the number, the number helps to know where I need to go but I don’t want to focus on it. A friend gave me the Made to Crave book and devotional a few months ago so this is perfect timing! I’m ready….ready to learn to focus on God and let go and let God. Looking forward to making some wonderful online buddies too!

  550. Hi, my name is Dotty. I am a child of the most high King and I want to live as such! I am married, I have 6 children 2 oofwhom are married and I have 6 grandchildren. I am a member of a beautiful supportive church family.
Through M2C OBS I want to stop hiding behind the shadow of my body (fat) and live under the shadow of His wing. I want to give Abba the high place in my life and let Him rule my heart. And yes I want to physically lose weight and gain stength, energy, and healthy habits (spiritually as well).
May Abba bless us all, guide us and keep us in Jesus’ name, amen.

  551. My name is Sarah and I live on Florida. God taught me what a intertwined relationship with God, my body, and my soul is in my journey of losing 100#. I now lead weight watcher meetings. However my thorn is rearing its ugly head and imprisoning me with the lie of the satisfaction of food in my life again. I look forward to intentional Truth and accountability in living healthy and free. Thankyou.

  552. My name is Mandie. I live in St. Charles, MO. I have been married to my husband for 8 years and we have two sons together. I just turned 30 this year and it was really eye-opening for me. I saw all the things in myself that weren’t on target. I’m hoping to get back on track with getting more in sync with God as my goal. If that leads to weight loss, I would be fine with that too.

  553. Sonya Collins says:

My Name is Sonya. I live in Springfield, Missouri. I am hoping through this Bible study that I can grow closer in my relationship with God and stop using food as my “crutch” for everything and learn to rely on God to fulfill my needs.

  554. My name is Sandy and I started this study before, I did not engage with it then, or finish it. I need to trust in God to help me with this life long struggle. I only crave the high fat foods when I start a diet. I need help to stay on course. I have fluctuated in a healthy weight range since childhood. Taken every diet “pill” and had tried every diet plan, but this is an area that I never prayed about, or let God in on. I hope to stay the course, and want God to reveal to me the root of not being able to have victory over this, and have him take it.

  555. My name is Joy and I live in Frederick, MD. I hope to gain a deeper relationship with God where I literally crave Him, gain healthy habits, lose weight, and stop this unhealthy relationship I have with food. Thank you for leading us through this journey.

  556. My name is Deb and this is my first OBS – I’m very excited! I’m from Brisbane, Australia so I’m not sure about time differences but will try to work it all out.

  557. My name is Renee. This is my first OBS. I’m from Inwood, WV. I ordered Made to Crave last night on Amazon because I just finished reading Unglued and loved it. When I checked my Facebook today, my Pastor’s wife had sent me the link to the OBS. HMMMM Can you say, “Holy Spirit working!!!” I’m so excited to see what God has in store for me and to grow my relationship with him and to lose this weight!!!! :) I also am excited to make some new friend.

  558. Sharlene Borke says:

    Hi,
My name is Sharlene, from the great state of Michigan (Canton). This is my first online Bible Study. I really would like to be a “normal” eater. I would rather think & talk to God instead of craving food. I want it to be easy but know that it will probably be hard work. ICK. Bible studies are awesome – another way to be with God. So – - – here goes!!!! Praise God!

  559. Karen Stephenson says:

Hi! My name is Karen and I live in Boynton Beach, FL. I have never done an online bible study and I really am looking forward to the experience. I purchased this book for my Kindle many months ago and have not read a single word. First and foremost, I really want this study to replace the focus and energy that I spend on food and spend it with God. I want to learn how to tap into His power to strengthen me; to take hold of His love to be the real love that I crave that can’t be found in any food. I look forward to truly transforming my mind and body.

  560. My name is Michelle. I live in the metro-Detroit area. I have read the book before. This time around, with the support of the on-line Bible study, I hope to find freedom from my up and down relationship with food, become healthy and find more freedom in Christ.

  561. My name is Annie and I am from Anderson, Indiana. This is my first online bible study. I am hoping to gain a deeper relationship with God that will improve my self-esteem and self-worth. I think if I can have more confidence in who I am in Him then I won’t fall prey to food cravings as much. Looking forward to this!

  562. Hi ladies!
My name is Stephanie and I’m from a small town in South Western Ontario. I am really looking forward to this study. A good friend of mine is a health and wellness coach (check her out, an amazing daughter of the King who is really all about getting back to the basics of how God designed food for fuel – Christine Gingerich http://www.optimalyou.ca) and I’ve been working with her on losing some weight. My husband and I want to start a family but I really want to get a better control over my eating habits and lose a few pounds before trying for a baby. Long story short, I’ve discovered that most of my eating is emotional – and that I’m not even thinking about it – but rather, just following one craving after another mindlessly. I really want to have better self control and I think a great way to do this is to replace those food cravings with a deeper and stronger craving for the Lord. I’m so excited for this study! I’m looking forward to hopefully getting to know more of you better! Praying for everyone!

  563. My name is Margie and I live in Jacksonville, NC. I am so looking forward to this Bible Study and to a new me both inside and out in 2014. I am looking forward to new friends and a better understanding that I am not in this alone. It is hard enough dieting and exercising right, but it is even harder alone. Maybe a good support group is what I crave..just sayin’. Looking forward to a new beginning, all the way around!

  564. I asked for the book for my birthday and I also received the devotional book. I struggle with my weight as I’m an emotional eater. At 37, 5’7 weighed myself today. I need accountability. I need to crave God first over food. I have never done an online bible study either.

  565. Hi! My name is Kelly Hardison and I’m from Lewisburg, KY. This is my first OBS; however, I read this book at the beginning of the year. A friend of mine and I started reading Made to Crave, praying, eating right/exercising, and holding each other accountable at the beginning of 2013. We had some pretty lofty goals – she and I both wanted to lose 80 pounds. We have had a great year (she met her goal and I’ve lost 60 pounds). I give a lot of credit to this book that we studied together. I also want to stay focused and continue my weigh-loss journey. I can do anything with God in control!!

  566. My name is Renee. I’m 51 years old and I live in a small town outside of Dayton, Ohio. I have survived breast cancer twice in the past 5 years and this last go around a few months ago resulted in my having 2 very major surgeries. I’m still recovering physically and mentally from them both, but I hope to be back to my normal self in another month or so. I have two children, ages 15 and 28. One granddaughter, age 6, and am currently married and getting ready to celebrate my 18th wedding anniversary in January. I’m hoping to learn how to get closer to God and understand what it is HE wants me to do with my life and to also try to make a last ditch attempt at saving my marriage. My husband has absolutely NO desire to attend church, go through any Biblical study with me or attend any marriage counseling. I’ve tried soooo much in the past that has NOT worked that I’m crossing my fingers this does. I really don’t want another divorce in my history. I’ve had so many disappointments in 2013 that I am praying that 2014 is better. I lost a sister to pancreatic cancer on Valentine’s Day 2013 and have another whose health is up/down and has outlived her doctors expectations by 3 years. I’m in constant emotional turmoil and have been turning to food for comfort, like a lot of women I know. I’m not physically able to do a lot of exercising, but I’m confident that if I can lose SOME weight, then I might get physically better. I have great hopes for this book! I’ve done several online Bible studies and have also attended a book of Acts class for women only at my church. I find that I really am enjoying learning about God and His beloved son; even at my advanced age of 51. I was raised Catholic, but I swear I don’t remember very much at ALL from those years, so I think that’s what is prompting me to learn now through my current Church of Christ pastor and congregation. I really felt like I came home when I became a member 6 years ago. Okay, enough about me. Looking forward to “meeting” my fellow participants and maybe finding someone close to me that can help keep me accountable and vice versa!

  567. Hi my name is Ronda I am 51 and now living in Statesville NC , I am from Ohio and have been in other states over 30 yrs due to hubby being military (retired now). We have 5 great boys and 8 grand children and now take care of my Father in-law who has Alzheimer. I am looking forward to this study , I do it with my sister in Ohio. Most of all I want to thank my friend (first lady to befriend me in my new surroundings) Drena Olson for introducing me to this web sight and these wonderful Lady’s. Very excited to get started, get closer and crave more of my Heavenly Father and protector.

  568. My name is Kelly and I actually picked up “Made to Crave” by chance just before starting “a Confident Heart.” I was trying to read both, as they are both excellent, but chose to focus on ACH when it became a challenge for me. Imagine my surprise and pleasure when the next study was announced!
I am so thankful to have discovered OBS. My life Is hectic and OBS encourages me to keep my head in the Word which helps keep my heart supported to face the many challenges out there.
    Praying for you all!

  569. Hi! My name is Pat and I am in Raleigh, NC. I am 54..2 grown children , 3 precious grandchildren. I started gaining weight when I hit 40, quit smoking and gained 50 pounds!! Then with each added year..a few more added pounds! I know I NEED to lose the weight…but have just not had the motivation to do it! Diets don’t last…I just can’t eat lettuce for weeks on end. I have heard Made to Crave is an awesome study..I am looking forward to losing some pounds and gaining some friends!!

  570. My name is Roxane I am 55 yrs old and I have been married for 35 years. We have 7 children and 11 grandchildren. Like many others I have progressivly gained weight and lost it to gain it plus more. I have high blood pressure and high sugar levels and losing weight brings them down, I don’t want to put on medication for this. I have a problem with food, I just keep eating and don’t stop until the food is gone instead of stopping when I have had enough. I am excited to start the study and put all of this in God’s hands.

  571. My name is Karen and 47 years old and from New Jersey. I have four children 11 years old and younger and have struggled with my weight for the past 20 years. My motivation is very low and I’m looking for a support group through this study in order to better align my heart with God’s through a healthier lifestyle. I’m looking forward to this!

  572. Hi! My name is Morgan and I’m 27. Years old. This is my first time doing an online study so I’m excited but nervous too! I’m ready to stop giving food a major priority over God and use his strength to overcome this idol. I have twins that are almost two and married to a wonderful man :)

  573. Hi all. I am from Clarksville, TN. This will be my first OBS. I am 33 year old wife to a wonderfully supportive husband and mom to 2 beautiful girls. I am actually 2 weeks post-pregnancy today. While I have already lost my baby weight I have struggled with weight my entire life. This is the time that I need to get my priorities in order and draw closer to God and physically healthier for my girls. My first baby, who is now 4 (and perfectly healthy) was born with a heart defect th hat required immediate surgery at 11 days. We’re so blessed that our new baby does not have any of those problems. That said, it is imperative that I set a godly example to them and can start with this area of my life. I look forward to going through this study!

  574. I saw this link on Facebook today and felt like it speaks directly to the topic of this new Online Bible Study, so I wanted to share the link here for anyone who would want to read the article:

  575. Hi. My name is Evie. My husband & I recently moved to Banks, Oregon. Where we can be more involved as grandparents and also giving our kids a much needed break from time to time. I was on a good path of losing weight Sept – November 2013…then in mid December I went of the deep end and began emotional eating. I haven’t put all the weight back on that I lost, but I sure don’t like how I feel right now. Looking forward to ramping up my craving for our Lord and losing this feeling of craving for foods! Praying for you all in preparation for our upcoming journey together. We are blessed to be a part of this group! <

  576. I had taken off 70 lbs over the course of 2 years and kept it off since 2008. Recently, I had to sell my family home after my ex could no longer help me pay for it because he was getting remarried. This sent me into an emotional spiral along with a relationship with a man that would characterize “off and on” never knowing where I stood in the relationship. I now have gained 25 lbs back. I need to get this weight off because of arthritis. I’m taking this class because I gained the weight back even though I was trying to diet.
I’m 62, feel lonely often, and need work. LOL A basket case!!!!

  577. Hey y’all! I am currently doing this study and thrilled to be able to continue through this group. The teachings in this study are amazing! I am 45 years old with seven year old twins. I have been married for 24 years and I have never been at a healthy place. Mississippi has been home since college. Moved to China in 2012 and learned some difficult lessons about being fat outside of the US. Their honesty was the beginning of being honest with myself.
Ignoring my weight/health issues and wreckless food choices have always been my problem. Daily food indulgence and being obese are the side affects from years mindless eating. It’s time for me to give this to God and finally find victory through Him. I don’t want my children to have this battle. It’s time to make these changes permanent! Time to create new habits, build a stronger relationship with God, and live a healthy, determined life. Super excited that very dear friends from both locations will be participating in this study with me!

  578. Thank you, Lysa for this awesome opportunity!

  579. Hi, I am Ginger. Live in the North Tx area. I started reading this book way back when. Then just sort of quit reading all together. Over the last year I have retired and staryed a new job, sold and bought a new house and attempted to start riding horses again. But most significantly I have become a slug… gained 30 pounds on tip of the already 30 I was over weight. While I feel “busy” I dont feel I have accomplished much each day. And my relationship with God has become so distant it scares me. I am hoping this will help me get back on track with God and as a by product help me to get back up and moving with my health
