Important MTC News for You

A few questions you may have before you begin Made to Crave~

“I ordered my book and it hasn’t arrived yet, when can I expect it?”

I can only speak for Proverbs 31 Ministries when I answer this one. Due to the large quantity of books we are sending out AND the bad weather this past week, our delivery was delayed. If you were in our office right now, you’d see volunteers packing books and loads of packages waiting for pick up. Just look at all these books going out today! Yours is on the way!

  1. Leigh Ellen says:

I signed up because I’ve never tried an online study, and that in itself has me a little curious. I also want to grow in the Lord and with a community of like-minded women.

    • Oh Leigh! You are going to love it. I have loved every minute that I have been involved. I have a closer relationship with my Savior and I have made friends with the greatest group of women I have ever had the pleasure to know. I’ll be praying for you!

      • Leigh Ellen says:

Wow! Thanks! That really blesses me and means a lot to me! I can already see this is going to be good! Praise the Lord. Blessings to you, Stela.

        • Leigh,
You will love it! I wasn’t sure the first time I did an OBS either. But fell in love with the support, love and encouragement these ladies across the board bring. It’s super cool how we connect across the world, to learn God’s word – and grow in Him!
God is truly amazing how he works out these details!

          ♥ Donna B

    • Roberta-OBS Small Group Leader says:

      Welcome Home!!!
I can not wait to get to know you better, Leigh. I also have found this group to be nothing but a blessing and it has been amazing to be a part of this community of women. They are kind, caring, and authentic and it is just terrific the encouragement and support that you receive daily. I hope that this experience blesses you as much as it has blessed me. I truly can not imagine my life without my Proverbs31 OBS sisters. I totally agree with what Donna has said.

  2. I am a daughter, sister, wife, mother, and teacher. I’m not where I need to be with my health. I feel like this is my chance to get healthy. The Lord is calling me to an abundant life and I want to crave Him more than anything. Thank you for offering this study…a chance to get my life in balance. He is definitely calling me…

    • As I read the list of roles you are in I am thinking about what a great witness your success will be! The amount of people that will be observing how the Lord changes you though this journey, will be numerous! What a great privilege you have of being a role model in your faith intertwined your health. Praying you are abundantly blessed by this study and find more hope and encouragement than expected :)

    • You can do ALL things through and with Christ, Cara, he gives you the strength!!!!!

  3. I read Made to Crave over 1 year ago. It had so much insight. But I have fallen back into old patterns and I was hoping having a large group of women encouraging each other would help keep me motivated. Doing it by yourself sometimes, it’s easy to lose focus and go off track.

  4. Katherine Newsom says:

I am a 30(almost 31) y/o mother of 6. I am also a Respiratory Care Practioner but only work 4 nights a month so I get to be home with my children. I have such a craving( literally) to further my relationship and knowledge of Christ! I signed up for this online study(the first one I’ve ever done) to help me achieve this. It’s extremely difficult to attend bible study at church because we don’t have a nursery. We do attend church but the kids go to Sunday while we have worship. I get so caught up in the day to day that I get overwhelmed. I really need something to help me focus and I feel God has led me to this bible study.. I am so excited and can’t wait for it to begin! God Bless..

    • Lacy , (OBS FB Small Group leader) says:

Katherine, I am so glad you are going to be a part of this study!! I know you will be blessed as we grow together. This will be great study format for you as a mom with small children. I think you will find lots of support and encouragement right here! Blessings!

  5. I have had the MTC book for several years & still haven’t read it. I love this ministry and just know I will be so blessed by the book. I had determined that the time to read the book is now, so imagine my delight when I found out there was an upcoming accompanying Bible study! I am sooooo ready! Thank you for all you do to encourage and bless women in the journey to being a Proverbs 31 woman!

    • Lacy , (OBS FB Small Group leader) says:

Yay, Debbie! Glad you waited! I know there was purpose in that, because it is so much more fun to share experiences with other women. Studies show we do better “sticking with it” if we have support. I know you will find lots of love and encouragement HERE!

  6. First off, I LOVE Lysa, met her at a event in Granbury TX last year. I really want to get to the hear of the matter and learn how to glorify God in my eating habits, as well as other areas of my life.

  7. I signed up a few weeks ago and am amazed and encouraged to hear about all of the other women “out there” who have a desire to crave Jesus more than food. We are not alone in our struggles or in our desire to grow in Christ. That’s sweet! I can’t wait for the study to begin.

    • There definitely are a lot of us participating :) You are not alone in this journey! Praying that you will find the words of encouragement and hope you need during this study!

  8. Gwen Garcia says:

I signed up for several reasons: I’m tired of living this way! I know God has bigger things planned for me but my weight holds me back! I like the idea of being in control vs. food controlling me! I know in my head what to do to lose weight-I just can’t get my heart to follow! Thanks for the chance to share!

  9. It’s time to try something different. I’ve been fighting this weight-loss/get healthy battle for too long. Since God does such a splended job of taking care of the other aspects of my life, I think it’s about time I turn this one over to Him as well.

  10. I signed up for MTC because I’ve been struggling with my weight and I had purchased this book about a year ago and started reading it but never followed through. I have a 22 year old daughter and a surprise 3 year old daughter. They will actually turn 23 and 4 this year (June & May) and my 3 year old is very active and I want to live and love and keep up with her. I’ve also struggled with reading my bible and so I’m praying that this well help with that as well. My 22 year old is a fine Christian Young lady and she inspires me every day to grow closer to HIM! I am committed to doing this study and finding out what other struggles I have and overcome them! Thank you!

  11. In this “self help” world, it is so refreshing to find a ministry that addresses our inner battle as well as the outer one. God is my strength and I can do all things in Him!!!!

  12. Lisa Bradshaw says:

Have been in recovery from food addiction for several years. It is a constant battle & need the support. Looking forward to this journey with you.

    • That is awesome that you are in recovery! How did you get to where you are at today? I would love to learn more about the journey you took :) Praying for your continued success and that through your victory others will be blessed by seeing your life.

    • Kathy Schaeffer says:

Hi Lisa, I am glad to find someone who understands recovery. Looking forward to sharing and studying with you.

  13. I have joined as this will be my first ever bible study online or otherwise. I was not brought up in the church and so I only know what I have “picked up” over the years from my friends and going to church with them. I have my on ideas but have always really wanted to understand th bible. I did start reading it once but without direction I kind of got lost. The last year has been very very difficult. Began treatment for non Hodgkin’s lymphoma last November (2012), basically lost my job because of it, but have found a new job the totally supports my illness and time off that has already happened. My weight has always been an issue but with the cancer it took a backseat and still does. I do not eat enough and what I do eat half the time is not the best for me. Anyway, I am very excited to learn to “crave god and understand what He is all about”. Thank you.

    • Deborah, I am glad you signed up for this study. You will find a group of very supportive people. If you can get in one of the small Facebook groups. You will learn so much about the Bible and how much God loves you and what you need to do to learn to rely upon Him.. I will be praying for you,
      Blessings to you,
      Linda

  14. Lisa Funston says:

I signed up because I love Lysa’s other books and I wanted to find a way to control my cravings this year. This fit the bill to a tee. As a bonus, my daughter is doing the bible study with me! Hooray!

    • Lacy , (OBS FB Small Group leader) says:

Lisa, How fun to be sharing this with your daughter! My mom and I are doing this together too! I am so glad you are able to join us for this study. It’s going to be GREAT!

  15. Antoinette Gingras says:

I bought the book a couple of years ago and have only read the first chapter or two. I find it so hard to change my lifestyle, but find it easier as long as I include bible study along with diet and exercise. I’ve been doing a 1st place 4 health class here at my church but we broke for the holidays and I really need more help to motivate and encourage me to change my life and body to better reflect the Glory of my Maker!

  16. I recently took part in the last bible study, and since I was sad to see it end, I was very happy to find out there was another one. Even more happy to find out it was with ‘Made to Crave’, which I own and read about two years ago. It will be great to read it again and to be involved with this study.

  17. Emily Berry says:

I have never done a bible study before, and when I saw this on my email I knen that I needed to sign up. I get the Proverbs 31 devotion everyday and it helps me to make it through the day. I am so excited and anxious to see what God has in store!!

  18. I joined the study, because I’ve been wanting to read the book for two years. And it keeps popping up everywhere! My heart (my stubborn heart) just hadn’t been willing to listen to the call from God to do so and really commit to it. And now, after many struggles and hardships, I am craving something more than what this world offers. The morning I had that realization, I opened up the Proverbs 31 page and saw that this online study was starting. I didn’t hesitate. I just knew it was time.

    • Awesome to hear that you have responded to the nudges to read the book and do this study! It will be awesome to see the ways God reveals Himself in this huge community of women seeking His face :)

  19. I started an exercise class 3 months ago and things are firming up but am ready to get my diet in order to lose weight. I decided that God can help me do this if I rely on him.

  20. Robin Bordwine says:

I have always turned to food as a comfort … need to refocus and turn to God instead. I want to grow in my relationship with Him and crave Him more!

  21. I signed up for Made to Crave because I am really broken about my eating habits. I know I use food for emotional reasons, and I want to practice turning to God instead. It’s my hope that this Bible study will help me do that.

  22. Jennifer Roubique says:

I signed up for this online bible study after watching the introductory video on the blog. I was shocked when Lysa told about how she felt before digging into the bible for answers. She said the very same thing I had texted my best friend the day before! I’ve thought about reading Made To Crave since it came out several years ago, but now feels like the perfect time & being able to participate in an online bible study makes it even better.

    • God’s timing is so amazing isn’t it? Praying you will find everything you desire and more… God has great plans for all 30,000 of us!

  23. I signed up for this study because I am tired of not putting God first in my life in general, so working on Craving HIM at this time in my busy life was very appealing. God has blessed me with 4 kids in 5 years and getting some of this excess weight off and learning more about putting God first is incredible.

    • Barbara Prince, OBS Small Group Leader says:

Hi Becky, You’ve come to the right place for help. If you give this study your best efforts, I know you will end it stronger in faith, closer to God, and closer to improving your healthy eating habits. You have joined an amazing group of women who will just love on you and encourage you!
      Blessings!

  24. My name is Suzanne, I live in East Texas and I signed up because I have to get a handle on my eating habits, deal with weight issues and some wrong mindsets that are sabotaging me!

  25. I’ve signed up to the study as I struggle a lot with craving attention, appreciation, and recognition! I’m ready to turn my focus on GOD and learn to crave Him and healthy choices!

    • Barbara Prince, OBS Small Group Leader says:

Don’t give up hope my sweet sister! God wants you to succeed and He loves and appreciates you enough to die for you. We will all be pulling for you to succeed and we believe in you. You can do this!!

  26. Hi, my name is Barbie and I am homeschooling mom of three rambunctious little boys.
I signed up because I did the MTC online study several years ago with a good friend, and found it very helpful.
Currently I am in a very different place in my struggle with food/weight/ what I truly crave. When that same friend told me Melissa would be hosting another MTC study, I knew it wasn’t something I needed to do.

    • Wow this board moves quickly! I corrected my typo below, but I knew this WAS something that I need to do, not wasn’t!!

      • Barbara Prince, OBS Small Group Leader says:

I’m glad you are giving yourself another chance at this. This time you WILL be able to keep it going! We’re here to help you in any way we can.

  27. I joined because I wanted to see what more I could get out of the MTC book. I have read parts of the book but haven’t completed. I started working on my wieght in September 2013 and so far lost 34 pounds and have 23 more to go. I need a little more encouragement and it definitely wouldn’t hurt through bible study and some other christian women that struggle with the same issue.

  28. I need to focus on this as a spiritual journey; not just losing pounds. I so appreciate your Biblically based, sound and sensible teaching!

    • Barbara Prince, OBS Small Group Leader says:

We also are most concerned with your spiritual journey. We are going to learn to crave God more, not food or other things.

  29. I love this book, this will be my third time going through it! I’ve held a small study in my home, participated in the webinars when the book first came out and I firmly believe that this book is a wonderful tool that I can refer to again and again and again. Love It! I am a 50 something (ok 51) mother of 3, been down this road a few times but I know the Lord can do amazing things!

  30. I am excited to do the study for Made to Crave. I have had the book for a few years and have read it but really want to study it and excited to have a group to do it with!

  31. Debbie Johnson says:

I have battled with my weight for some time now. My cousin and I would try to help each other along. But, nothing. Both of us are Christians, but we discussed how we should turn that concern and problem over to God. In late October, I was diagnosed with colon cancer and had surgery the last Monday of October. That section of my colon was removed, along with my appendix, 18 lymph nodes and fatty tissue that had encased the tumor. The results came back negative and the surgeon was able to remove all of the cancer. No treatment needed (even though I will see an oncologist every 3 months for a couple of years). While I did lose 20 pounds during the whole process, I know that God was with me the entire time. When I was told that cancer had been found, I never felt alone, angry, depressed, sad, or all the feelings most people have. I knew in my heart that God had full control and that He would be with me through this journey no matter what! And, He was! And, still is! I want to continue working on my health and can’t imagine a better way to do that than by delving into God’s word with Godly women! Thank you so much for this opportunity! May God richly bless you all.

  32. I signed up because Proverbs 31 has made such a difference in my life over the past couple of years. I am not sure when I first discovered P31, but I know when my daughter was hurt, and we were in the hospital day after day a P31 facebook status would pop up and inevitably the status said just what I needed to hear to get through the day. Over the past year I did the Unglued study on my own, and was active in Say Yes to God and Confident Heart. I learned so much and really enjoyed being able to share thoughts and feelings with my online sisters in Christ. I am so excited about Made to Crave because I need it so much. I am in a constant battle with my weight. I will do so good for a while. I will exercise, eat right and feel tons better, but as soon as something gets me off track, I go back to my old ways. I also struggle with emotional baggage. I do the same thing. I will put it away and be doing so good, but then somebody says something or does something that makes me doubt myself. I am ready to learn more about craving God and only God, and I think doing this study with others who are honest about their own battles will help me in my quest to be the person God is creating me to be. I am definitely an imperfect work in progress.

  33. Sandy Turner says:

I have been praying about this study since I first heard about it. I am doing the 21 day challenge, and today learned just how many things I crave beyond food that keep me from totally devoting my live to God. I want to enjoy all the abundant life God has for me, and craving Him instead of worldly, selfish desires will help me embrace the abundant blessings.
Most of all, I want to be an example to my daughter and daughter-in-law of how Christ can transform our lives when we allow Him to work through us. Blessings!

  34. I’ve tried for 21 years to lose my “baby fat” after the birth of my son. I recently took on The Challenge to lose 10 pounds with our Project 10 Challenge, but need to do that 4 times to lose my baby weight gain. I know that through Christ all things are possible and know that this Made to Crave study will help me get healthy from the inside out so that I can help others do the same.

  35. For health reasons, I need to lose a significant amount of weight, and I know the biggest thing holding me back is myself and lack of self-control. Food has had too much control in my life, and it is time to give that control to God and let Him help me through this!

  36. I wanted to go through this study not just to nake healthier choices and possible lose weight I wanted to do this to trust God more in my daily life decisions.

  37. Beth (OBS Team Leader) says:

YAY!!!! I do cartwheels just like Lysa does!!!!!! :)

  38. Oh no, typo!
I knew it WAS something that I need to do!!!

  39. Cheri Rumelhart says:

I currently participate in a fantastic online Boot Camp program which has many ideas in line with things that have been mentioned through Proverbs 31 and Melissa. What I also know, is that I certainly don’t depend or thank God near enough. I love when things line up like that, but I’m also hoping this study will help to bring the pieces together!!

  40. I am excited to delve into God’s word and Lysa’s book to grow closer to Him. I have a history of craving the wrong things, for example, Starbucks or the praise of colleagues, so I am excited to learn new ways to crave Him daily!

  41. No matter how hard I try it on my own, I have NO willpower! I was looking for a bible study to begin the year with and lo and behold! I saw Lysa’s post on Facebook! I felt like she was describing ME! No wonder why I have NO willpower! I can’t do it on my own! So, 2 birds with one stone. I have a bible study and a way to get healthier!

  42. Denise Corson says:

I am doing this study so I can get healthy. I am recovering from a divorce and the heaps of depression and anxiety. I have been on so much medication that I have put on a lot of weight I want and need to lose. I want to feel beatiful again. Right now….I do not feel good about me as a person at all. I had a chance to meet Lysa in person and that brief encounter with her changed my heart. I want to lose 100 lbs., be healthy…but most of all…I want to be HAPPY!! I hope you will consider selecting me.

    Thanks,
    Denise

  43. Suzi White says:

I do cartwheels like Lysa! HAHAHAHA! I signed up for the MTC OBS because I am in recovery for food addiction! I denied the truth for years and paid the price with my health and energy. I was never morbidly obese but I was morbidly unhealthily! I want to be able to lead others through MTC in the future to help them overcome unhealthy habits!

  44. I signed up for this study to have accountability and keep my focus on CHRIST.. with Him I know I will have success this year. I’m looking forward to learning.

  45. I signed up because I desperately need the support this time around!

    • Rosemary(OBS group leader) says:

You will be amazed with the amount of support and love that you will get Jessica. God has truly brought you to the right place.

  46. I signed up because I need what the Made to Crave online Bible study has to offer: support and encouragement.
I know how to lose weight. That’s never been the problem. My cravings that fill the space in my heart that is meant for God are the problem.
I’m looking forward to learning how to crave God more every day!

  47. I am 46 years old with four younger kids, the youngest is 2. In the past I never really had problems with my weight. When I turned 40, I started noticing a change. I started eating when I was stressed and I started gaining weight. I also started not being able to stop eating. While I am still not overweight, I want to stop this cycle so I can keep up with my kids. I have had the book for a while, but never finished it. I am hoping the bible study will help me finish the book and help me out.

  48. Elle Woods says:

Need to win this! I am 40yo mother of 9 and have lost 29 pounds since my birthday 4 months ago. I’ve got 168 to go and I’m looking forward to the help of Made to Crave!

  49. More of God-less of me! I want to become healthier and stay in God’s will for my life.

  50. Tatia White says:

I am a 41 year old, wife and mother of 3 teenaged boys. I have been struggling with my weight for pretty much my whole life. Food has been a source of comfort for me and an area where I keep “control” when I feel I have no control over other areas of my life. I have been convicted for quite some time that it is a spiritual issue for me, yet the knowledge of this has not brought about change in my life.
My husband serves as a manager of a Christian camp. We feel that it is very important to visit the different churches that support the camp. Because of this and other factors, I have not yet been able to plug into a church or Bible study.
I signed up for the MTC study because I want to crave God more than anything else I have ever (or will ever) craved and I know God can work through this OBS to guide me & bless me with support and encouragement to do so. Thanks for following HIS leading to make this happen for so many like me who desperately need this!

  51. Melody Byrum says:

I have reached the point in my life, where I’m tired of my weight. I can’t do it on my own anymore. I bought the book Made To Crave when it first came out and I got to chapter 2, put it down and got busy and didn’t pick it up again. When I saw this bible study, I knew it was God telling me to pick it back up, and grow with him and trust in him. To crave him is what I want, not food.

  52. Tina Yoder says:

I joined this Bible study because of the title of the book. I have not read it before and am excited to get started. I do “crave” food – or just the act of eating – even when I am not hungry (which is most of the time). I do not want to be ruled by food, but by God. I want to crave Him above everything else. Ready to get my priorities straight!

    • Roberta-OBS Small Group Leader says:

      Hey Tina,
Just be reassured that you are not alone and you have many sisters to encourage yo and support you all the way.

  53. I signed up because this has been an ongoing struggle since I was a young child. I don’t know how to handle life’s issues any other way than stuffing with food. I eat when I’m angry, confused ,sad, etc. I know this is not God’s plan for me but I don’t know how to stop the cycle….

  54. I am doing this study because it’s time for some changes to happen in my life. Ready for Him to turn my focus around!

  55. Cynthia McSwain says:

Looking forward to the bible study.

  56. How exciting to hear that 30,000 of us have signed up to do this study? I can’t wait to start. I’m doing Weight Watchers now but my heart isn’t in it and I think the Made to Crave bible study is going to help a lot. It’s a God-shaped hole in me, not donut sized!

  57. Colleen F says:

I signed up for 3 reasons, 1 this will be my 3rd OBS, a good friend introduced me to the OBS Bible Studies and I really enjoy them, plus I have made a few good online friends in my small group. 2. I really have a problem with using food to comfort myself. this goes back to when I was a teenager and my dad decided I was fat (not really if you look at pictures I was actually skinny. ) Anyway he used this as a way to control me and watched what food I ate. I was basically starving because I wasn’t allowed to have much food, so of course I learned to sneak food into my room or when I was out with friends. Now food is what I use to comfort me when something is not going right. Finally I was just diagnosed with diabetes and I need to learn to not only control my issues with food, but I need to lose weight, hoping that maybe I can get rid of this diagnosis. Excited about this study, because not only will I be doing this here online and with my awesome group 13 sisters, but we also have a small group at church that will be doing this study on Sunday’s.

  58. Wanted to get closer to God & i have worked out for years with no sucess. I figured if this helped, it would make me a better Christian.

  59. Sue Shockley says:

I signed up for Made To Crave so I can understand myself better and connect with other women on the same journey. I want to crave God first and before all!!

  60. I signed up because I am sick of being sick. I know that I do not always eat healthy, but when I do, I feel so much better. I know that I do so much emotional eating, stress eating, etc. I really know that I can’t do this alone.

  61. I took the MTC crave study when my church offered it as a small group. It really helped me grow closer to God and the plus side was I lost 25 pounds. As soon as the class ended, I found myself craving food more than God. I was so glad when this bible study was offered. This time I am determined to stay in a much closer relationship with God. I can’t wait for the study to begin.

  62. I am 42 and mom to two, and want to crave Christ and not worldly goods – food, stuff, etc. and see 2014 with a positive outlook!

  63. Mindy Kroesche says:

I have battled with my weight off and on for several years. I did Weight Watchers once and lost weight, but gained it back when I was pregnant and have been unable to lose it all again. I’ve realized that my problem isn’t just in being overweight but in how I think about food and use it to battle stress or reward myself. The Lord has been showing me that this is an area of bondage in my life, and I so desire to experience the victory that I know He wants me to have. I’ve started to read Made to Crave, but desire to go deeper into God Word on this subject and see how the Holy Spirit will work in my life.

  64. I signed up because I want to know what the Bible says about me and my weight control, or I should say, lack of control, while getting closer to Him. I also invited the ladies of my church to join me. I ordered the DVD and we are making it a once a week meeting. We will meet for the first time on January 22nd so some of them may not get online until after that. There are only 4 of us so far but it will be in the Sunday bulletin this week and I am sending out another email with the information as well.

  65. Patti Pierce says:

My name is Patti and I am the stay home mom of 4. My husband is active duty in the army reserves and is also an ordained minister. We have four children, three sons and one daughter – all of whom are homeschooled. I have struggled with my weight for the past 20 years. I am looking forward to this study.

  66. Tired of the yo yo dieting. I bought the book a while back but found it tough to stick to, as with every other diet. Praying it will be different this time with the bible study and the help and support of over 30,000 participants and Proverbs 31 organization.

  67. I already posted why I signed up…but it was ages ago and it sounds like a TON of new folks have jumped on board. We just adopted two very sweet kiddos and my daughter, who is 12, looks to me for guidance on everything. Even when she’s not asking questions directly, I can tell that she is watching and learning. I don’t want her to grow up with body images, like I did. I want her to be confident about her beautiful self and never have to freak out about a negative relationship with food!

  68. Lisa Bruno says:

I have struggled with food/worth my entire life. I have come to the point of desperation that can only be filled by God’s grace and love for me. I know He desires the very best for me and I am hopeful that MTC will help bring me to the place of acceptance and self worth and love that He has for me. That I may walk this journey among other women that will share their experience stregnth and hope with me and through God’s grace I will seek Him over food!! Hoping that this journey will be able to connect the path from my head to my heart and complete the connection.

  69. Mandy Moody says:

I’m excited to do this Bible Study. After 3 kids and the youngest having cancer I have gained alot of “emotion” weight. What I mean but that is I have gone to food instead of the Lord for my comfort. I want to change that.

  70. I have come to realize that for me, food is an addiction. Sweets are my drug of choice. Just as with any addiction, giving it up is not something I can do on my own. It is beyond my power. In order to have vicotry, I MUST draw closer to God and rely on his strength. This online study is one stepping stone in drawing closer to Him as I learn to let go of food and satisfy my cravings in His presence.

    • Kathy Schaeffer says:

Hi Gwen, I am glad to find someone who understands addiction. I thought sweets/refined sugar were my drug of choice, but after being off them for 2 years, I gained weight from everything else. But I can definitely say I have never craved broccoli or lettuce. I am looking forward to discovering why I self-medicate with food.

  71. I am doing the Bible Study because I want to be involved in a Bible study and right now with my health issues it is nice to do one where I can do it from home so on days I don’t feel well I don’t have to try to catch up or try to make it somewhere. I also have been interested in the posts by Lysa and I feel like it’s me talking a lot. I am hoping not only to grow in my faith from the study but also to overcome some of those unhealthy eating habits and addiction to sugar.

  72. Marci Shortreed says:

While I have considered myself a Christian my entire life, it has only really been the last year or so that I have really been trying to grow my relationship with God and with Jesus. I have read bits and pieces of the Bible but am now trying to actively read some every day. I have been extremely overweight for the last 5 or so years, mostly caused by stress and depression. I know what I need to do to lose weight, but have a hard time motivating myself and loving myself. I know that with God all things are possible. He can help me do this and I know I can’t do it without Him.

  73. Beth Stoy says:

I signed up so I can change my focus more onto God and less on worry. Also, I believe in being apart of community.

  74. Every year I make the resolution to get healthier and every year I do great for a little while but then get busy with all my work, Mom jobs ect… and get distracted. I am ready to make some lasting changes this year and am excited to be involved with such a great group of ladies to make positive changes in growing my relationship with GOD and becoming healthier inside and out.

  75. I’m a born again believer but really backslidden. I’m a mess spiritually, physically and emotionally. I know God did not call me to this kind of a life and I saw this as a chance to change my direction and become more than I am now for the Christ who died to save me a retched sinner. I’m praying for God’s strength to become more in the cause for Christ.

  76. Excited to get started!

  77. I had bought this book a few years ago and never read it. God had made it very clear to me recently that 2014 was the year to deal with all my food issues. I had pulled this book off the shelf, sat down to check Facebook and saw the information about this study so I knew I needed to sign up. I have never done an online Bible study before so am a little nervous about being able to stick with it. But here goes!!

  78. Brittany Eby says:

Ok, so a little about myself…I’m 24 years old, newly married a year and a half ago to an amazing Godly man, I work with a little boy who is autistic, I love to sing worship music and am on our church’s worship team, I’m a fairly new Christian (3 years), oh and I struggle with over stuffing myself with food :(
That would be why this study appealed to me. Finally a study about eating habits and controlling them that focuses on the One who can heal us from that baggage that causes us to eat poorly. I’m so excited to get started!

  79. April Ramsdell says:

Looking forward to the study. I’m a mom of three and grandma to one. Disabled and don’t get out much. This is one way to be part of a community.

  80. Shanna Rodgers says:

I am 47 and obese. Over the last 25 years of my marriage, ups and downs, fidelity issues, sickness and in health I feel like I have been pulled back and forth in my relationship with GOD and I use food to fill up the emptiness. I want to finally get to a place where no matter what is going on in my life, HE is my anchor and no more yo-yoing up and down.

  81. Monica Palmer says:

I want to crave God more and work on my battle with weight. I love Proverb31 online bible studies and I was so happy to see that Made to Crave was the next online bible study. I know it was God that made this one happen because I need it the most! Love you ladies!

  82. Amanda Cooper says:

It’s been a rough 10 years…my husband left me on our honeymoon 10 years ago to pursue a homosexual lifestyle. He broke me and it’s only been in the past 5 years that I’ve started to recover. I’ve gained over 100 lbs in 10 years and although my self-esteem is great, I am not cherishing God’s temple that is my body. I did manage to lose 80 lbs a few years ago through God’s grace alone, but I was dealt another blow and I gained it all back. I need a permanent lifestyle change and I know that God is the only one who can help me do the work I need to do inside my heart. I am so blessed and excited to be a part of this Bible study.

  83. Melissa Nassraway says:

I am a stay at home mom and Navy wife. I have 2 boys and I need to lose weight and grow closer to God.

  84. Leigh Ann says:

I’m a 44 year old southern girl and my weight has yo-yo’d my whole life. I’m married with a beautiful adopted baby girl who is almost two! (Which makes me the oldest mom in the class!) I love God and try to keep him first in all areas of my life but food is one area that I have struggled. I’m an emotional eater and don’t want to use food as my tool to manage those emotions any more. I need to become healthy and strong for me, my husband and my daughter. I’m soooo looking forward to this study!

  85. I’ve read the book and realize that my eating has been a way of punishing myself for past and present sins. It’s like a sick form of validation. I want to WANT to get and stay at a reasonable weight. I want to love myself enough to do this. For me and for God who loves me too much to let me stay this way.

  86. Sharon Oriordon says:

I’m ready and excited to lose weight for Him! Looking forward to the accountability with one another!

  87. I signed up for Made to Crave because I am craving a closer relationship with God. I want to turn to him before anything else. I want to have a better 2014 with God than I didn in 2013.

  88. I am a 30 year old mom of 2 little girls and I joined because I wanted to read this book and study along with other women and get my life back on track!

  89. I signed up for M2C because I don’t like where I am both physically and spiritually. I am hoping that this study will help put me onto a better path.

  90. Michelle Ambrose says:

Hi. I live and work in Long Beach, California. We are blessed to have wonderful weather right now, so I have been spending my office breaks walking around campus and getting some exercise! I am mentally preparing myself to dive into the MTC with you all, and am so excited about doing with with OBS. I have read MTC twice before and have tried to incorporate it into my life. It is a beautiful message of getting closer to Our Lord and Savior, a message I can hear over and over again! I have gained lots of weight the last 2 years struggling with depression and neck pain, so this OBS comes along when I am ready for it. God bless. ~M.

  91. I am an almost 30 year old, divorced woman who let my ex-husband control my thoughts about myself and my weight. I have since then let myself become incredibly unhealthy. I’ve been working hard on my relationship with my father & creator and have found joys and blessings I never thought possible. Realizing there is so much more he has planned for me, I need to get my health under control as well. When I saw this study come across my pinterest boards I KNEW God had placed it there. I’m looking forward to sharing in the struggle we all face & having a support group to help me through it. Having an obese father & mother who fights with anorexia – I don’t have much support from the family. To know that there are sisters in Christ out there to support me & that I can also support gives me hope!

  92. I’ve always struggled with my weight. My family didn’t have great eating habits. I finally lost a bunch of weight and was doing well until I got pregnant and had our daughter 2 1/2 months premature. How did I deal with it? I reverted to those bad habits and gained a bunch back. I’m looking to relearn how I think about food and gain self control in this area!

  93. Lynnette B says:

I’m tired of trying to lose this weight that has “snuck” up on me the last few years. I have acid reflux too so losing the weight will also help that. Overall, I want to crave Christ more than food or anything else!

  94. I had received the e-mail about this Bible Study while I was visiting our family and saved it thinking that I would review it when I got home. The day after we got home, I received an e-mail from daughter saying that she had signed up did I want to join her. That was all the encouragement that I needed. I’m glad to be participating with everyone and especially with my daughter.

  95. Cindy Uhrick says:

I am mostly a stay at home mom. I say mostly because I only work 4 days out of every month. I have struggled with my weight for the last 7 years, since I began staying at home with my son. I want to crave God in those times that I usually turn to food (out of stress or boredom, etc…). I signed up for this OBS because I want to continue to grow closer in my relationship with God so that I will crave time with Him instead of craving food.

  96. Mom of 5. Need a study but not another place to go. Like flexibility of online.

  97. Cathe Rosenfeldt says:

I signed up because I am 52 years old and have struggled with my weight all my life. I grew up being told that I was fat and ugly and would never amount to anything. I think it’s time I finally learn what my creator says about me and I learn to crave the one thing that will satisfy my soul better than food ever could.

  98. I studied Lysa’s “What Happens When Women Say Yes to God: three times last year. Twice with the Women’s Bible Study group that I facilitate at my church as well as on-line with Melissa and company. Loved watching Lysa in the DVDs that accompanied the study. It was such a blessing to cover the material with different groups and multiple times. I’m confident I will enjoy this study as well. Now, I just need to decide if I want “Made to Crave” in Kindle or hard-copy…

  99. Janis Moore says:

My friend SueAnn suggested that I take part in this online study – and it just so happens that I asked for the book Made to Crave for Christmas – and got it! Have been holding back on reading the book – and can’t wait to get started!

  100. I am a stay at home wife, mom and writer, needing a change in my life physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. I am looking forward to my second attempt to completing Made to Crave bible study!

  101. I led a Made to Crave Bible study 2 years ago that pretty much changed my life! I’m here to offer support with a group of friends that are joining me for this round. This is a study that never gets old for me!

  102. Teresa Kuhl says:

I’m a 51 year old wife of 1 1/2 years, mother to four- two daughters, two step-daughters, all adults, grandma to three. I have struggled with my weight pretty much my entire life. I am finally ready to learn how to let go of my emotional crutch and give it all to the Lord. I am really looking forward to being a part of this amazing group!

  103. My name is Brittney. I live in North Alabama. I signed up for this study because I want to fill my feelings of emptiness with Him instead of earthly things. I want to CRAVE GOD! I also want to grow closer to Him. I feel like I always do all of the talking in my prayers. I am trying to talk less and listen to Him more. My focus is HIM.

  104. Chrissy Greenwell says:

Hey there! I decided it was time to get off the up-and-down rollercoaster and put some more fun into life! Depending on others or things (ie. food) to keep me emotionally stable and fill the voids just wasn’t cutting it. I know God is the only One who can be my all; however there’s a reprogramming of my mind that needs to occur, and I believe the MTC Study will help. Blessings and joy in the journey!

  105. Renee Boschain says:

I am 34, and have been dieting for more than half my life! How sad. I know this study will bless my life because more than the “how to,” I need motivation through the “want to.” I need to be reminded that my success in healthy living blessed God, and is a testament to His power to change. I’m so excited to begin!

  106. Tammy Lawson says:

I need to lose a few pounds and know I can’t do it on my own. I had gastric bypass surgery 6 yrs ago and lost 125 lbs. Since my dad’s death over a year ago I have gained about 25 lbs. It’s time! Help me Jesus!

  107. Leslie Searcy says:

Learning how to treat my earthly body better and base my choices on God’s word not my unhealthy habits. I hope that this will also help me in other areas of my life where I have made unhealthy decisions, such as hoarding, depression and anger. 2014 is about renewal for me and I cannot think of a better way to start than with a Bible Study geared toward healthier living.

  108. I purchased Made to Crave last year, but still haven’t read it. When I saw the online bible study, I thought it would be the perfect way to get myself to read it & apply it to my life.

  109. My name is Ori. I’m originally from Venezuela, but live in Texas. I’ve Ben married for a year. I work with special needs children. I decided to get the book sometime last year, but I had it on my nightstand for quite sometime. It wasn’t until i saw the post on Facebook about the bible study that I opened the book. I decided to join mainly because in the past I’ve struggled with eating disorders either with bulimia, anorexia or overeating. This is the heaviest I’ve been in my 30 years of life and my husband and I are trying to conceive. I recently was told that I need treatment in order to get pregnant, so I hope with the information I get from this bible study and can satisfy all my cravings with the one and only God.

  110. Jill Raymond says:

Jill Raymond. This will be my second OBS study and I’m so excited. I cannot wait to learn how to replace my pity parties over food I cannot eat (I’m insulin resistant) with the truth’s and promises of God!!! This study is going to be SO AWESOME!

  111. Laurel Johnson says:

I am young widow who is looking for a new “Craving”. I want to turn more to God for help than other temporary fixes.

  112. :) I loved the cartwheels. My mind does cartwheels ALL the time…does that count? :) Seriously, though, I’m so THRILLED to be a part of this study. I have been so blessed by you all.

  113. I am a high school business teacher and I lost 35 lbs. last year by watching what I ate and exercising. I have succeeded in putting most of it back on. Grrr. As my doctor told me, I need to get inside of my head. I hope that this Bible study can do that for me.

  114. I really enjoyed the last on line study! I am looking forward to this one especially because I have read the book already and believe reading it again while participating in the on line study will take me to a deeper level of understanding!

  115. I bought the book over a year ago and I did read it and also the devotional book which I loved. But I didn’t practice what I read and continued to eat unhealthy and put food before much more important things in my life. I want to learn how to put the food cravings behind me, lose weight, become healthier and focus on getting closer to Jesus.

  116. Sally Croft says:

I was looking for a bible study to get my teeth into when I came across your bible study. I am excited that this will be the first on line study I will have taken part in. I am looking forward to the study and learning how to stay on track not only with food but other areas of my life too. This sometimes is a struggle for me.
Imagine, 30,000 plus studying the word together. Amazing Grace!

  117. Hello, beautiful women of God!

I am so excited about this Made to Crave study! I first read the book (hardcopy then bought the Kindle version) when it came out and even bought the audio book to listen to at work! I loved it and have bought and given the book away 3 or 4 times since. I will probably get another copy just because I love to write and highlight inside books.

I signed up because I want to take what I know (this book, God’s truth) and walk it out. I want to believe it, not just know about it. I want to know that this word, His Word, is for ME too. So many times I catch myself encouraging someone with a verse but, secretly in my own head, I don’t believe it for me.

But this year is my year. This year I am focused on losing weight and being the best Kelly I can be. This is my Isaiah 61 year!

    Isaiah 61
    New International Version (NIV)
The Year of the Lord’s Favor

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
    to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
    instead of ashes,
    the oil of joy
    instead of mourning,
    and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
    a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.
They will rebuild the ancient ruins
    and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations.
    Strangers will shepherd your flocks;
foreigners will work your fields and vineyards.
And you will be called priests of the Lord,
you will be named ministers of our God.
You will feed on the wealth of nations,
and in their riches you will boast.
    Instead of your shame
you will receive a double portion,
    and instead of disgrace
you will rejoice in your inheritance.
And so you will inherit a double portion in your land,
and everlasting joy will be yours.
    “For I, the Lord, love justice;
    I hate robbery and wrongdoing.
In my faithfulness I will reward my people
and make an everlasting covenant with them.
Their descendants will be known among the nations
and their offspring among the peoples.
All who see them will acknowledge
that they are a people the Lord has blessed.”
    I delight greatly in the Lord;
my soul rejoices in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation
and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness,
as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
For as the soil makes the sprout come up
and a garden causes seeds to grow,
so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness
and praise spring up before all nations.

  118. I chose to do this online study because I have no excuse not to do it since I can study at home in my pj’s if I want to,!!

  119. I have wanted to do this many times, but always seemed like the wrong time, this time I decided to just do it and make the timing work. I’m sure it will be a great blessing.

  120. A dear friend of mine read this book awhile back and highly recommended it to me. I got the book however haven’t had the chance to read it yet. I recently did the online study “What Happens When Women Say Yes to God”. I really enjoyed it and the impact it has made on my life. When I saw that there was going to be an online study for “Made to Crave” AND all you needed was the book.. I thought why not! I have the book so let’s do this!
First of all, thank you so much for doing this study.
Likw most people, I have my “cravings” when it comes to food and thanks to that little thing called “willpower”, I don’t always make the right decision when it comes to what I put into my mouth. My reason in taking this study is to also learn not only how to overcome those moments when my willpower goes sailing out the window but how to “Crave” Jesus in other moments in my life when I don’t make good decisions about what I put into my “mind” such as when I strive for others approval or have my expectations too high. Just learning how to “crave” him in all aspects of life… to the point that when those insecurities arise, I just look to Him to satisfy my soul.

  121. I signed up because I read the book last year and loved it so much I bought the leader guide and devotional! I just did my first OBS with A Confident Heart and enjoyed it so much I just had to do this one too!
Most of the time I have my food issues under control, but I do struggle occasionally. I also crave others’ approval, and I’d love to give that up and look to God alone!

  122. Ann-Marie says:

I believe there is a season for all things. This study popped up on my FB page several times, shared by my friends. It didn’t take long to see the writing on the wall. I’ve battled with the notion that God loves me the way I am versus my body being a temple for the Holy Spirit to dwell in. I want to provide the best temple but my temple is mushy. I want to understand better so the battle can subside and I can focus less on my body and more on God.

  123. I signed up because I wanted to do the book when I got it in December, with friends in a home study, but every time I organize a home study in my personal house, people always commit to join me but then cop out, and dwindle, then I get sad and fell disappointed. I had 4o women sign up to do Ann Voskamp’s 1000 gifts, back in September and at the end, I had 4 women show up at the last session. So when I saw this Online Study, I knew it was where I was suppose to be….I can do it at my leisure, in my pajamas, and with a bunch of Jesus friends, but not have to put my husband and kids out. I love the thought of having a community on this Made to Crave Journey and being connected with women who are addicted to food like myself. God Bless all 30000 + women in my bible study…Pretty cool!! Thank you all at Proverbs 31 for keeping us all on track and living a Proverbs 31 Woman!!

  124. I signed up for this study because I read the book before and was really impacted. Unfortunately, I have gotten off-track and really need a refresher course. Some of my friends are also signed up for this OBS, so we hope to make positive changes stick this time!

  125. I just turned 30 and have been feeling unorganized and like I can’t even seem to fit anything in with any consistency. My weight has especially been an issue and I’m loosing the control battle. I’ve found myself saying I don’t need it and buying the ice cream, or hamburger anyway, lately. I’m challenging myself with this short online Bible study to get myself back on track. More than anything else, I’ve been feeling the pull to be closer to God and yet I can’t seem to make anything Biblical stick in my head (anything really, but the God’s word is SO important!) It’s a baby step to greater things.

  126. Lisa Wine says:

My sister and I are doing this together as well as together with all the other women that have signed up. I would like to learn not to depend on food to put my faith and trust where in belongs in Jesus.

  127. Laurel Wycoff says:

I would love for my sister and Mom to participate! My sister lost over 100 lbs but due to medical issues has not been able to continue her weight loss journey. I would love for her to do this OBS with me!

  128. jilda swift says:

I have been struggling for at least 50 years and am ready to give my weight and eating issues to jesus, can wait to get started with you girls on this journey

  129. Christine says:

My name is Christine and I’m from NY. I’m a happily married housewife to a man of God. I’ve participated in the P31 online Bible studies before and I love how much closer they draw me to God and get me into the regular habit of spending time with Him daily. I’m looking forward to this study because I sense it’s the season for me to put Him first in my life and “crave” Him above all things!

  130. Hi Im Jo. I am really excited for 2014. I am finally finding out my purpose in life. It took me a while because I just turned 53. Better late than never for sure! 30,000 enrolled how excited y’all must be. Making a difference 30,000 at a time. : ) Gods blessing to each of you who have signed up. Let the joy begin.
    Giving thanks, Jo

  131. I’ve lost 54 pounds and still don’t feel like I have everything under control! I got the book (Kindle free download) about a year ago and have never looked at it. I need to be able to be satisfied with God!

  132. Linda Adamo says:

I joined Made to Crave because I really want to get closer to God, and of course I have a weight loss goal. What better combination could there be? Thanks!

  133. Hi Lysa, I am so excited about this study beginning! I have done this study 2 years ago and have needed to find my “Want to” again! I had lost 20+ pounds before and was making healthy choices. Then life happens and the holidays have been very difficult this year. So I am ready to refocus!
I am a grandma of 5 granddaughters and need lots more energy to keep up with my growing family!
I have extended family living in my home right now for various reasons and just find myself being pulled in lots of different directions. I am looking forward to being back in a study to help me focus back on Craving God and not Food!
God bless you for your insight!

  134. I’m 41 and I am so sick of myself. I recently read MTC & realized if I spent as much time obsessing & talking about the 30 lbs I need to lose, and took it to God and actually followed a healthy living plan then I might just succeed. I also don’t want to lose motivation & I think the weekly study will renew my enthusiasm! Thank you!

    • well said…I am sooooo sick of myself also….I have a food obsession, and vow to turn it over to God. Amen!! feeling such good hope with this group!!

  135. I subscribe to the Proverbs 31 emails and get them every day. I usually read the scripture and then delete the email. For the past couple of weeks, I have been struggling with the fact that I have gained so much weigh. I want to lose the weight to avoid future health problems. The email on January 9th was “A Call to Action” and I read Lysa’s story about her struggles with weight and felt like I was reading about myself. At the end of that email was information about the MTC bible study and I immediately went to the website and signed up. I heard Lysa speak and E-Women conference and had already started reading the book! I’ve never done an online bible study – can’t wait for this one to start!

  136. I am so excited to make a positive change for my health, weight, and in my relationship with the Lord. I am going to let go of all my failures in the past in this area, and lean on God for this journey. It is obvious that I don’t have the strength or willpower required! This is my first online bible study and I hope that it will bring about that feeling of camaraderie that is needed to spur us all on to victory!!

  137. Cheri Quinn says:

I am 34 years old and have been married almost 16 years. I have four children and care for my grandmother full time in our home. I have struggled with reliance on food most of my life. Our family always used food to celebrate and mourn. I am ready for this spiritual journey that will lead me on a forever path of some reliance on God. Looking forward to.sharing this journey with women who understand spiritual battles.

  138. I signed up for this online study because I don’t feel like I am honoring God with the choices I make concerning the body He has given me. I also want to draw closer to him. I love Jesus, but I often ask myself would my choices be different if I were IN LOVE with him. I think there is a difference. I want to learn to crave Him.

  139. Why did I sign up? I love to learn. I love to look great. I love to serve God. A friend gave me the book and several friends have told me how much they have gained from reading it. The Bible Study is just my way of making sure I read it!!!

  140. Anita Cockrum says:

I signed up because my sister had encouraged me to read the book, which i have been meaning to do. I am making a conscious effort to become healthier in my Family, Faith, Health and Home this year! Then I saw that Proverbs 31 was offering the book study and thought this would be a great way to do it.

  141. I am very excited about starting this online bible study. I think about and crave food more then anything else and it has been the downfall to my health – physically, mentally & spiritually. I look forward to growing closer to God, craving Him above all. I look forward to going on this journey with all 30,000 of you!!!!!

  142. Nancy Mingus says:

    Hi Everyone,
I’m doing the M2C OBS (I didn’t just sign up, I’m *doing* it!!) b/c I read Made to Crave in December, and I want more!! :-)
    #Enough2014

  143. I am so excited. This is my first online Bible Study. One of my New Year’s Resolution was to do a few Bible Studies. This is a great way to start a new year!

  144. I am a wife and mother of three (under 5). I bounced back after my last pregnancy, as I have in the past, but I gained all of it back. I can only blame me not my children. My weaknesses are soft drinks and debbie cakes. I have also been struggling to strengthen my relationship with God. I found this online study and it seems like the perfect thing for me. I have already read the first 3 chapters and I returned to work on January 2nd with a new attitude and a new perspective. I am practicing replacing my cravings with prayer, wooohooo!!!

  145. Hi! I signed up because I have 36 pounds to lose AND I’m looking for a permanent solution to weight loss as well as growing closer to God.

  146. Cheryl DiBenedetto says:

I’m 47 and sick of being unhealthy and sedentary, physically and spiritually. I’ve had the MMTC book for over a year and have never been able to read it through. I start it and then I stop and I’m done with disobedience!! I’m going for it this time and am excited to start this study.

  147. This is now my 3rd OBS and I am so excited for it! Food is something that I am realizing I take comfort in WAY too much and it should be God! I am thankful for women like Lysa who are willing to be vulnerable to help others! I figured this was a great time to do this study, since I am trying to finish loosing the oh, too much baby weight I put on with my daughter who is now 8 months old. I am so excited to get into this study and learn some great resources to use!

  148. I am looking forward to learning about my internal willpower even when the world around me is going crazy. I’ve never participated in a study like this and am looking forward to connecting with women who have similar experiences to mine as we learn from each other on this journey.

  149. I joined MTC to keep my thinking clear and focused on a daily basis. I have the MTC Devotional, and it has impacted me greatly, giving a completely different outlook on eating/food issues. I had an eating disorder in high school, and in stressful times, find myself thinking those old smelly thoughts again. Thank you!

  150. I signed up for Made to Crave because I finally realized that my real struggle with food isn’t really eating too much bit tryin to use food to fulfill me in ways God should. I’m excited to try to break my cycle and approach this weight thing from a new angle.

  151. Hello, I am quite ready for change. My mother is morbidly obese and suffering from Pickwick Syndrome. It is horrible to watch. In her suffering through life she over ate and is over 400 pounds. She can hardly walk to the bathroom. She suffers greatly. It is a sorrow. My mother has a huge family and lots of folks who love her. She never turned to God. She would say she is a Christian. I grieve over my mother. I want to let go and let God. I have 40 pounds to take off and I know I cannot make this change with out the Lord. I want to let God carry my burdens…not the food.

  152. My name is Colleen. I am a mother of 5 blessings. 4 of which we currently homeschool and 1 who is an infant. I signed up for this study because I love P31 OBS and felt led to continue with this one. I lack motivation to control what I eat and when due to the busyness of our lives right now. Thank you MTC.

  153. I am so excited about this study. This will be my first Online Bible Study and I can’t wait. I am a part of P31 Fitness (www.p31fitness.com) and several of us are participating in the Study. It is going to be great.

  154. Megan Jones says:

My name is Megan jones; I’m a mother to three beautiful babies. As of January 1, I started the Paleo diet. My resolution for 2014 is getting things in “shape”, not only my health but my household, finances, etc. I desire to grow closer to God and believe that this Bible study will go along nicely with my diet changes. Thank you for all of your encouraging words!

  155. Kara Dollar says:

I joined because there is a group of us doing this devotional together at my church. I want to be healthier and have the wonderful ladies from our church doing it, it will provide an entire accountability group:)

  156. In the past I have gotten out of the practice of bible study and my weight has got out of hand. I think this bible study will take care of both.

  157. Hi, I am Tamijoy. I am 339 lbs and I see this as my last chance to beat this super morbid obesity and LIVE. Thank you for doing this study. I am mom to some amazing kids that the Lord has blessed me with through birth and international adoption, I want to be here for a long time to come. My youngest has severe special needs and I need more strength and energy and less weight to take care of him.

  158. Sarah ryan says:

My name is sarah and I joined because I miss having a bible study. Most of the bible studies are during the day and I work during that time. Also I have lost 45 pounds so far but I need help losing another 60 or so!! Looking forward to jan 19th and my 1st online bible study!!

  159. I signed up because I am 57 and still struggle with things in my life. Weight is one of those things. I know scripture I love the Lord I have alot of head knowledge…I just would like to learn to “want it “with all of my heart the promises of God that are jammed packed in scripture.
Praying that on this side of eternity and can Get IT.
Thanks for doing this on line study and Who-Hoo for 30,000 plus participants!

  160. Laura Manahan says:

I have struggled all my adult life with yo yo dieting and auto-immune issues. Until recently I’ve tried to fight this battle with only temporary results and lots of failure. I’m giving up the fight and handing over to God. Made to Crave is my first step in letting him have control of my lifestyle and conquering the effects of my weight on my auto-immune issues. Let’s go God – I’m fully Yours!

  161. Susan Williamson says:

Two weeks ago a friend shared the link for the MTC devotion, and I am ever thankful to her. I have already grown in the Lord with the encouragement from the MTC website and the book. I am reading the book one chapter a morning to keep me on track during the day. I really want to devour the whole book in one sitting, but I’m refraining to one chapter a day so I can have daily inspiration. And boy – has it inspired me. I’m reading and memorizing God’s word, I’m praying more, and I have decided to stop compassing that mountain. With God’s help I am going to turn northward. I have a long journey ahead of me, and I looking forward to a closer walk with God (and slimmer, healthier me!). :-) Thank you Lysa for writing the book, and thank you Wendy (my friend) for sharing the MTC link with me.

  162. I have done the Made to Crave book study with a small group of three of us. I hate crowds so 30,000 actually makes me nervous – how dumb is that?! Good thing it is only online or I would chicken out. I fell off the wagon when my Dad died in 2012 so it is time to do the study again. If I think about it logically that is 30,000 other woman to share with. WOW! Looking forward to making God my sole (soul) craving again INSTEAD of food… =)
    Lina

  163. Susan Dever says:

This will be my third Proverbs 31 online Bible Study and I believe the one that I need so very desperately right now. In August 2009 I lost my beloved husband of 31 years to cancer and while I thought I was “handling” my life and this time of change I’ve realized how much I have tried to fill the emptiness I have with everything other than my Father in Heaven and my Lord Jesus. It’s not just food but with material things….I feel depressed so I buy something I don’t need and charge it or I eat something that I know is not good for me. Lord, please use this Bible Study and these godly women to help me crave You and only You.

  164. I purchased ‘Made to Crave’ at the Women of Faith conference in Kansas City this past September. I have long struggled with food, since childhood and fall prey to it too often. I have ballooned up and down every since my freshman year of high school. My freshman year of college, I began to struggle with anorexia and exercising WAY too much. This lasted for four years, thanks to control issues, self-image issues, and a horrible (ex)fiance. After things ended with him, I began to eat again and thought I would be able to maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle, but depression issues and other problems crept in and took me to the opposite side of emotional overeating. This is the heaviest I have ever been and cannot hardly stand to look at myself in a mirror. My husband of almost 7 years and I want to start a family and are already seeing a specialist to help with ovulation, but things haven’t been working out that way for us. The medicine helps, but we aren’t conceiving. I want to lose weight to prove to myself I have what it takes to maintain a healthy lifestyle — it’s not about the number on the scale…I want to lose weight to help any chance I have of bringing a child into this world. I want to crave something more than the donut on the counter at work.

  165. I signed up for Made to Crave because I am currently trying to loose weight again and I need help. I have been on every diet you can imagine, my entire life. I have been growing in my relationship with Christ every day and when I saw this on Proverbs 31 Ministries website it just spoke to me. I knew that God was trying to tell me that HE could help me. So I followed the feeling and signed up.

  166. Kari Courtney says:

Hey everyone! My name is Kari and I’m a stay at home wife /mother to two kids. My son is 5 and my daughter will be 10 months this month. I have struggled with being overweight my entire life! I want to crave God now more than what I eat! I know this is going to be a journey and I am excited to get started!

  167. Hi!! I’m a wife to one, mom to five and child of the King!!! I LOVE studying God’s word but find that if left
to my own resources…I fail:( I LOVE joining in with other women in the pursuit of being Proverbs 31 women:)

  168. I joined this study in the hopes that it will lead to further healing of a food addiction I have battled for many years. I’m hoping that God will bring me to a place where I can finally lay down this idol in my life!

  169. I signed up for this study because I have been struggling with an eating disorder for 6 months and wanted encouragement and accountability. I know that all of it needs to be surrendered to HIM.

  170. Stephanie says:

Very excited for this study. I have a problem with eating. Food has always been my comfort. With so much going on as a working mom and wife and dealing with my husband’s medical issues I always forget about myself. God has been talking to me about getting on track and going to him instead of food for comfort. When I saw the news of this study felt the calling and ordered. Can’t wait to start!

  171. Susan Tresner says:

I’m joining in from Knoxville, TN. I have actually read MTC and tuned in for the webinars that Lysa did a while back. That was my first OBS. This time I hope to dig deeper and from a different starting point…with all God has taught me in Let. It. Go. Confident Heart and Greater to name a few. I’m praying for God to fill my cravings.

  172. Pam Masson says:

I signed up because I am very curious about doing a OBS and I have been feeling quite lonely in my “worldly” world of work and feel like I need something to bring my focus back on Jesus and my walk with my Lord. Thanks so much for doing this amazing (and exciting!) Study!!

  173. I am so excited to start this bible study!!! My first online study was “A Confident Heart”, which was fantastic. I struggled a little to keep up, but God surely blessed me anyway. This study is particularly important to me because I have been overweight and fighting it my entire life…so much so that it feels like that is who I am. Can’t wait to crave God more than food!

  174. Oops….not sure where the extra kid came from….only mom to four:):)

  175. Sharon Stevens says:

I already have a copy of MTC. It’s an older copy I purchased a few years ago and at the time, didn’t have the discipline to read and apply the words in it. Is my copy sufficient or do I need an updated version?

  176. Ann Marie Luckow says:

This will be my very first time doing a Proverbs 31 study! I’m so excited! I need to make the Lord number one in my life, and I’m hoping this will be a great tool. Thank you for making this available!

  177. Tamara Werner says:

The reason I am joining this small group is because I have struggled with my weight and emotions for many years. I read Made to Crave about a year ago and really loved it! A lot of parts felt personal and made me realize that I need to refocus my thoughts and crave a deeper relationship with God. At 336 lbs, I have a long way to go, but by using this book as a tool to help me refocus on what is important and being a part of a small group, having that support and sense of community, I think that great things can happen not only for myself, but for everyone who jumps into this.

  178. I am an at home mom of 3. I love God with all my heart and want to glorify Him in every way, including how I treat my body. I have signed up for Made To Crave so that I can help myself not only become physically fit, but spiritually fit as I am reminded to turn towards God instead of turning to food.

  179. Sandy Bowers says:

I would love to crave God instead of other things that are not the best choices for me. I joined this OBS so I can have support whenever I need it and someone to guide me through the book/study! Looking forward to it.

  180. Julie Llewellyn says:

I am so excited about M2C Online Bible study!! I have read the book just before last summer and couldn’t believe how much it inspired me to focus on God not my cravings!! I have struggled with my weight all my life and this year is a fresh start!! I love the thought of doing this with 30,000 other ladies just like me!! What joy God gets when we all are working for the same goal!! I have shared this study with many of my friends and we all can’t wait!! Thank you Proverbs 31 and Lysa!!

  181. MTC is my third P31 OBS & I CRAVE this study format. I also lead & participate in studies at my home church in Bloomington, IN but enjoy the flexibility of the OBS journey. Enjoy the constant communication and encouragement via a multitude of social media. Accountability towards a fresh start in weight loss & healthier lifestyle is my motivation for joining. Blessed by Lysa’s writing. Enthused by Melissa, Nikki & the OBS team’s videos, blog posts, prayers & overall uplifting attitude from godly women!

Want to share some encouragement, too…heard Dave Ramsey talking to as listener of his radio show yesterday. She was convinced she misunderstood the budgeting process and envelope system because she was experiencing so many difficulties. Dave’s advice was that she continue doing the same things and that he was glad to hear of her struggle. His wise counsel shared that when we decide to make lifestyle changes, we must first gain competence before we have confidence in our new behavior. Competence proceeds confidence. Whoa! Tuck that away for a future encouraging pep talk! It’s not struggle, it’s not too hard, it’s just building competence.

  182. Why I signed up…have believed for a long time there is a connection between my food cravings and God, so I’m extremely excited and hopeful at what I will learn in this study. It’s my first online study, so I’m excited about that. Connecting with 30,000 other women – that’s just a little intimidating! Looking forward to this study so much!

  183. I am really not sure I want to do this. I do know I need to. I am the mother of 2 children – one 9 months and the other a 3 year old. I know I want more energy to play with my little ones. I know I want more energy to serve others, also. I also know I want so much for my children not to struggle like I have.

I just haven’t decided I’m ready to try again.

I have always struggled with eating issues and weight since college. I get really motivated every couple of years, but don’t seem to be all that motivated right now :( I want to be?? I know I have never really given the whole issue over to God and asked for help. I did when I quit smoking and was amazed how easy it was when I asked God for help.

I do know this – I want to draw closer to God. Study God’s Word, more. Be intentionally moving forward in my relationship with Him. So, I guess that’s why I am here. I have had the book on my Kindle for about a year now. I want to crave God more than Cheetos and marshmallows. I do.

  184. I signed up because I have read the book in the past, but need to read it again and need the accountability of other women!
I am joining this study from Manitoba, Canada.

  185. Mandy Kennedy says:

Hi! I’m Mandy and I’m a foodaholic! :) I have felt stuck for years in this weight roller coaster and I am ready to attack the sin and failure head on!! I just turned 40 in June and I have 3 children ages 10, 7, and almost 5! I’m a stay-home- mom who is also a registered nurse! We can do this in Christ!! I love the support we will have together!! Thank you so much!

  186. I have been wanting to read Made to Crave for a while now. I just bought the ebook and then heard about the study, so I signed up. I have struggled with my weight since graduating high school and now after having 2 kids I am the heaviest that I’ve ever been. We are trying for another child but I’m afraid that my weight is the reason that it hasn’t happened yet. I need to make a change and I know that I need to fill my life with God, rather than food. I am excited for this study!

  187. Hi! I’m excited about this study, because I enjoy the ease of online studies, and because I’ve been following Lysa through incourage, and think she’s great! I’m looking forward to the challenge of learning to crave God above everything else. :)

  188. Jessica Shaw says:

I am so excited for this new chapter in my life. I had a baby boy 6mo ago and started my weightloss journey January 1. I know this time will be different because I’ve given my life to Jesus and he will help me through this. Can’t wait to read the book and learn how to trust God not food to make me feel good ♥

  189. Cynthia Vega says:

I came across made to crave while reading unlgued for a bible study. l have lost 25 pounds so far following the guidelines of made to crave. It has been an up hill battle but I do believe it is a different and helpful approach for weight loss and spiritual growth. I’ve signed up for the obs because I somewhat fell off the wagon over the holidays and I need to get back on track. I did the confident heart study and it was very helpful. Thanks for offering these bible studies!!

  190. My name is Shana Hodge and I live in DeQuincy, LA. I am 43 years old and have struggled with my weight all of my adult life. I turn to food when I’m sad, angry, stressed, happy and bored. You know…all the time! I read MTC when it first came out and was successful in losing weight. In fact, I’ve lost weight many times! It’s the making a life style change that I just can’t seem to do. I start off so good, get my focus off of food and on God, where it needs to be but then, I hit this certain number on the scale and it’s like I get scared. Thoughts of defeat and “I can’t do this” begin going thru my mind and I give up because I think I’m afraid that I will fail and not reach my goal. So, I need this. I need it bad! I have several friends and my mom signed up with me and we are going to do this together. Somehow, I’ve got to learn to eat to live instead of live to eat!!!

  191. Bonnie Whislet says:

I signed up for this because I would like to gain control of my desire to eat all the time whether Hungary or not. I want to crave God not food!

  192. Hi I’ve never done an online bible study befor, I’ve been reading the first few chapters of the book and I feel like it was written about my life, I’d love to give a copie to a friend.
I joined this online study for support and encouragement and I’m looking forward to getting closer to God.

  193. Tania McPherson says:

I have to admit, I drifted a bit in 2013. I had challenges I caved into rather than “fight the good fight”, as I’m sure happens to others from time to time. When I saw this online course, I saw an opportunity to refresh myself and realistically plan (this time) for what to do when those challenges arise. I’ve done this bible study before, but not online. I want to refresh and re-fire my relationship with Jesus. This is the perfect opportunity to explore myself and have deeper meaning in God’s word. I want permanent change that takes place in small steps progressively forward, rather than “a waltz” because I took a leap and fell back.

  194. I signed up because one of my friends from Charlottesville, VA told me how much she’s loved the bible studies she’s done through you guys in the past! I used to do regular bible studies with another Charlottesville friend but since I moved to Nashville, TN a little over a year ago, I’ve been a slacker! I can’t wait to get back in the habit of DELIBERATELY hanging out with Jesus EVERY day!

  195. Missy Kolander says:

I am 3 months post pardom. #3 baby in 4 years. I have not had healthy habits and as a result gained a lot. I’m starting Medi-fast this month, and as I lose I want my eyes ever fixed on Him. I want to see myself as He does and get healthy for my family. excited to do the study w/ 2 good friends. Friendship/ accountability, just such a blessing to me. never have I been a part of an online study, excited! bless you.

  196. Norma Jean says:

I subscribe to the Proverbs 31 emails and get them every day. I usually read the scripture and pass them on to my Facebook friends and Calorie Count friends where I moderate a group called “I Can DO All Things Through Christ” group. When I saw the advertisement for the online study, “Made to Crave”, I was thrilled since I am housebound. I have shared it with two of my online friends who said they were definitely interested as well. On July 14th 2013, I said I had enough, and have been on a healthy journey since. At then end of 2013 I met one of my goals of losing 50 pounds. I want to prove to my physician I can lose this weight without the gastric bypass surgery. I turn 60 in August and am excited to see where God will have taken me. Thank you Lysa for offering this study online!

  197. I signed up because I have heard great things about Made to Crave and I am ready to renew my mind and finally give God this part of me. I have several friends who have joined me and we have started a Facebook support group to go along with all of the great support we will receive from you!

  198. Marsha Worline says:

I am a 29 year old mother of three. My husband has recently went into full time ministry as a youth pastor. He is also taking online college classes. I heard about made to crave from a friend and feel this may be the answer to my many problems, not just my problem with my weight and self image but my desire for the Lord. I work full time and with three kids, a husband and a house to look after my relationship with God has gotten put on the back burner. I was to desire Him more than anything in the world! And I am hoping that this study will do just that!

  199. Kathryn B says:

I have struggled with my weight most of my adult life. I am currently struggling wtih my faith as well. Our youngest son died from a congenital heart defect at 6 1/2 months of age, 5 years ago. While I KNOW God loves me and is there for me, my abiblity/desire to trust God took a hit. And I thin I gained 30 lbos following Seth’s death, eating comfort foods. I want to CRAVE God and i want him to fullfill me again.

    • Kathryn,
What a great place to be-in a study surrounded by women who pray for your every need and in the welcoming arms of your Savior

  200. Way to go ladies, that was AWESOME…THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My name is Anna and I am from Arizona, and IM SO EXCITED 9 MORE DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so excited for this new year, I know that God has a lot of exciting things planned for all of us. And with those plans will come struggles, but 2013 taught me to DEPEND ON HIM!!!
I am so grateful for this past year, I opened my heart, my life and our home to what ever the Lord was ready to pour out. I started to live! I got hurt at work five years ago, and my life actually stopped and I became a hermit, I was ok with it, I read, I studied and I kept close to God, who in turn helped me to forgive the person that caused my accident and forgave me for being angry at Him. I was always in the security of my home, there for my husband and my two teens (who actually can take care of themselves), but I was happy, but I wasn’t growing!!!!!
After a OBS with Renee on A Confident Heart early last year, I remembered a horrible thing from my past, the shadow in my dreams and mind had a face, and I finally saw it, and all the ugly came to light. With God’s grace and gentleness, I forgave and I am healing, free from the shadow!. My true journey started here. I dove into reading scripture and speaking more with God, DEPENDENCE is the word!!! I went on to the What Happens When Women Say Yes to God OBS…I was sitting outside one day reading and answering questions for this study, and one of the questions went something like this: What is God asking you to give up or change in your life? I could not think of anything and a whisper came out of no where….Your Weight!!!!, I thought “say what”, looked around and there it was again, and I knew it was God telling me it was time for me to “get a life”. I had to lose weight. My favorite scripture last year that I held on too was Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know I am GOD” I continued with the OBS, and realized that something in me had changed.
I started to look for Christian based weight lose ANYTHING! on-line and found Kim Taylor’s takingbackyourtemple.com She had a 90 day challenge on there, which I did…I have lost 28 pounds since August!!!!!!!!!!! AND I have been taking off all my blood pressure meds YAY!!!!! I have learned to eat only when hungry, and turn to God’s word when I just feel like putting food in my mouth. I started to walk a little here and there, because of my injuries I have to limit myself. But it feels so good. I am enrolled to take the Made To Crave OBS and I’m so excited for that!
I started to go to women’s bible study at our church, opened my home to hold a Prayer Shawl Ministry here once a month ( which God was so nudging me to do for months last year), I was asked to join the core team for the Women’s Ministry (I accepted) and also my husband and I have opened our home for a Small Group Ministry.
I also volunteered to be the host for a progressive luncheon to kick off our Christmas for the women’s ministry. So I was the first home the women stopped at that day, and I loved it, I had so much fun.
2013 brought much change to my life and I am so thankful to my Lord and Savior, to Proverbs 31, and to Kim Taylor, to all the ladies I have grown to know at our church and to my new found friends. God has been so good, during the good times and the struggles. He protects us, our four children, our four grand children and my mom. My heart feels so light as I enter a new journey this year. And I know He is always close by.
Depending on Him, healing, strength, faith, mercy, grace and so much more has come to my life, and HE is the reason ;o)
Phillipians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” I love this scripture, for always…

My scripture for this year is Proverbs 3:5-6 TRUST in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge HIM and HE shall direct your paths….AMEN

    Blessings
    Anna

  201. I signed up for this study for so many deep reasons: but honestly all for ME! I want me back; back from the addiction and control food has over me and the shame and guilt that accompanies it. I read the book, MTC, as soon as it came out, 1 year later I LED the bible study, thinking that if I led the study I would be committed to not failing in front of the other ladies I led, I was their leader, I needed to be the example. I did succeed and lost 30 pounds but I have “fallen off the wagon” and back into the old ruts. I recognize the old self talk and secrecy creeping back in. Now is that really any way for God’s daughter to live, absolutely not! So thank you for kick starting my return to me and who I am created to be and back to living the life my Father designed for me.
Thank you really and most sincerely!

  202. I joined because I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired….

  203. Hi, I’m 38, mom to three aged 4, 6 & 7. I struggle with craving and overeating chocolate, and I so desperately want to be free, and to crave only Jesus. I read Made to Crave, finishing about six months ago, but didn’t fully absorb the truths. I am doing this study to really get to grips with what God has to say to me on this subject. Thank you for this opportunity to study with other women from all around the world!

  204. I’m excited to try my first OBS. I’ve also heard so many good things about MTC from friends in the past that I finally got a copy. Feels like God’s tug that I noticed this OBS starting the same time that I’m reading the book. God led me to stay home with my one-year-old while working at church part-time, and the stress of balancing it all often leaves me looking for a quick piece of stress relief in my day – and I’m realizing it needs to be a piece of God instead of that piece of candy. :)

  205. Mary Givens says:

I am a married mother of 2 who needs to loose a lot of weight. I get motivated and do good for awhile but after a few weeks i just kind of quit. I need something to help me stick with it. This past summer i went on a mission trip to Belize and through that i got so much closer to God. Im hopeing that this Bible study will help me continue to draw closer to God and through that give me the encouragement and whatever else i need to stick with getting healthy. I want to do it for Gods glory and not just for myself.

  206. I’m a pastor’s wife and a mom of teenage twin daughters. I’ve been cancer-free for a year (Praise God!) but still haven’t lost weight I gained from Steroids and chemo medications. One thing I learned from having cancer is to enjoy each day God gives us with family and friends…and not worry about stuff that doesn’t really matter. But I do need to take my health more seriously, and learn to turn to God instead of food when I’m feeling empty. :) I’m really excited about this study!

  207. Hi all, I am very excited this year about giving my weight issues over to God. I have been really convicted about glorifying God and being more transformed in my character to be like Christ. I am excited for all who are participating in relying on the Lord for this character development. Eph. 3:30

  208. I signed up because I need to lose weight, and my negative self image, plus I need to get closer to God

  209. Barbara Dillinger says:

OK ~ I’m not sure where to start, but here goes…..I did M2C two years ago and really got it! It was the first plan that made sense for me. I was craving more of God and I even lost the weight I had been struggling for years to lose. Then I did a really foolish thing and stood on a bed to turn on a ceiling fan. I lost my balance, fell backwards and hit the corner of a cabinet before I crashed onto the floor. As a result, I had seven rib fractures and a punctured lung. I couldn’t do anything. The wonderful friends from our church brought over meals and I soon found eating was the only thing I enjoyed. The weight came back on (and then some!), so now I am very ready to start over. I’m still recuperating after eight months, but I am taking walks and definitely have my “want to” back. I am very thankful to be able to participate in this Bible study! I’m craving it!

  210. I signed up because this is a study I need! God has been showing me many things lately and I believe this is the next thing He is going to lead me through.

  211. Christy Jenkins says:

I have signed up for the study because after reading the book on my own I couldn’t stay on track. I am a hoping with this study it will help me reach my goal of healthy eating and a return to fitness. I am a single Mom of four children who has devoted the last several years to the health needs of my children. My three sons required a bone marrow transplant for a rare immune disorder. They are now doing great but I now need to take time to focus on my personal fitness and nutrition.

  212. My name is Jessica, and I am a stay at home mither of a 2 year old and a foster baby who is 3 months. I have struggled with weight my whole life. Lately, I have also struggled to make time for my time alone with God. I have invited lots of friends to join us in this Bible study and some of us are planning to get together weekly or biweekly throughout the study! I’m so excited to have this study and this accountability!

  213. I am Sara. I have battled my issues with food for as long as I can remember and I am ready to be free :) I am ready to make good choices each day and let my body be a temple that I treat well. I have started a better lifestyle of eating healthy and exercising and already feel that food’s power over my life is dwindling, but I desire more freedom! I trust that God will be my strength and enable me to have self-control when I am powerless.

  214. Kris Kline says:

I have struggled with eating issues for most of my life and recently God showed me I have a food addiction. I found the Made To Crave 21 day devotional on YouVersion and it has made me “crave” to learn more about my food cravings and my walk with Jesus Christ. I am so excited to get started!

  215. I signed up because I really need to get my eating under control. I really have a desire to start cooking more at home (we never did this while I was growing up so it’s hard for me now) and eating healthier foods. However, anytime something happens that makes me feel bad or sad, I immediately still reach for garbage food and binge-eat. I’ve also been trying to have a closer walk with God the past several months. I’ve actually had this book on my Kindle for a few months now but never took the initiative to start reading it. I figured this was a wonderful opportunity!!!

  216. I was praying about a bible study to do with my 18 year old daughter. We have committed to focus on 1) growing our relationship with the Lord & 2) our health. I have heard and read about this book and was so excited when a friend from church told me about this online study! I am looking forward to sharing this time with my daughter & all of you!

  217. Jolyn holt says:

I signed up because I’ve been wanting to do this study again, I did it last January and I’ve moved to a new state and was hoping to find someone to do it with, and here y’all are!!! My daughter in another state has agreed to sign up and do it with us I can’t wait! God bless yall

  218. I have been on a weight-loss yo-yo for as long as I can remember I can lose weight but it always comes back with a few friends so I decided to change my focus instead of the number on the scale focusing on why I want food and why I turned to food for comfort and all emotional needs

  219. Why did I sign up? I have struggled with my weight for years – up and down, up and down. I have tried so many different things and will do well and lose and then become discouraged. Our church has been studying this book on Wednesday nights as a Bible Class but I work and can’t make it. After several people told me how great the book is and that it is very motivating and encouraging I knew I had to try it. My goal is to not only lose weight, but to grow in my walk with God. thank you for offering the online study! I am ready to L-O-S-E so that I can gain so much more. Kimberly

  220. Linda Burton says:

I joined the Made to Crave study because I needed to make a difference in my life spiritually and for my health. I have heard a-mazing things about this book and look forward to doing this study!!

  221. I’ve got a lot on my plate, but I know that I put a lot “on my plate” for all the wrong reasons. I’m really hoping that I’ll get a lot out of this study and I’m excited to begin. I’ve got my book and I’m ready to go! :)

  222. Angela Jolley says:

I am 46 years old. I have been fat since I was 6 years old. I saw Lysa in Hattiesburg, MS talk about MTC. I bought the book at the event and began reading it. At that point I was not ready to commit. Since that point, however, I have gone through Celebrate Recovery for food addiction. I have lost 85 pounds. I currently lead the Food Addiction group in Celebrate Recovery. I am looking forward to the MTC OBS to help me stay focused and lose the last 85 pounds to reach my ultimate goal weight of 160 (I began at 327). Then, i look forward to the rest of my life Craving God instead of food! I invited a friend, whom I am encouraging, to join the MTC OBS and she did!! We are looking forward to Jan 19th!!!

  223. Beth King says:

I have found myself too busy with very good things (church, family, work, etc.) to care for myself and be the person that God wants me to be. On the day I received the devotional with the MTC offer, I had already pledged to myself and God that I was going to turn back to Him and not food for filling me up. I believe the devotion and MTC invitation were a gift from God telling me I was heading in the right direction, back to Him. I am very excited to start the MTC Online Study.

  224. I read the book about 6 months ago and thought it was great! Problem was, I didn’t share it with anyone, including my husband who is also overweight. We both turn to food when happy, sad, angry, stressed… you get the picture, rather than turning to God. This year, our daughter is getting married, so we have that extra motivation to shed some weight by the end of the year. But more importantly than that, I sincerely want to grow closer to God through this study.

  225. Pamela Hailey says:

I am super excited to be participating in this online bible study. I’ve never done one before. I’ve started the new year with a desire to eat healthy foods, get back into excercising and stay away from my bad eating habits. Participating in this bible study also gives me the opportunity to enhance my relationship with God, something I already crave. So happy to be a part of this experience with eveyone.

  226. Stephanie says:

I signed up to do this Bible Study because I want 2014 to be different. NO more starting over and over. I am 41 years old ( 42 in May) with 4 kids and a wonderful husband to whom I have been married to for 20 years. After the last two pregnancies I didn’t lose all the weight. I want be at my best health and losing 30 pounds would be a bonus. I am a stay at home mom and I love it! But truth be told, I am feeling like “wait a minute–I have given up EVERYTHING for you four kids and hubby”. My teaching career, my plans, my dreams…. I have been home since I was put on bed rest at 5 1/2 months with my first child .My children are a blessing from God. Our oldest is 14, he was born with many medical problems including hydrocephelas and has had 15 surgeries to date, but he is a miracle–in regular school and no learning disabilities. Then we have a son 11, a daughter who is 9 and another daughter is almost 7. I am a track & field, baseball, dance and soccer mom. I am on the board of both Schools PTA, I volunteer at the school, Nursery Director at church, and the list goes on–you get the point. My husband travels all the time with his job and often he is gone overseas. I was saved at 8 years old. I know God needs to be the center of it all. But I just feel like I need to take a moment and breath and look and say ” here is where I have been, here is where I am at and God where do you want me to go” I hope to just draw closer to God thru this study, laugh, feel connected and hopefully lose some weight.

  227. LeAnne McDonald says:

I signed up because although I do need to not crave food as much, more importantly I need to crave God more! I did this study using the book and video with some ladies in my church and wanted to do it again and learn even more about craving God in my everyday life. Thank you for offering it!

  228. I’m Sarah and I am from the Atlanta area. I have struggled with my weight most of my life and I am tired of “trying again.” I am ready for the real change and I know my body is too! Looking forward to it :)

  229. Tonia Boling says:

I am so excited to start this bible study. I have learned that I can not do all things my self. God has taught me that I need help first from him and then from friends/family and even the internet. With the news of 30,000+ that is a lot of help

    Thanks Girls

  230. I signed up because I really needed a new bible study to dive head first into. I have struggled with food issues for many, many years, so I felt like this would be a great one to grow me. Plus, I love Lysa T.!! Love her! I lead my very first bible study this fall (what a huge deal this in itself was) and God prompted me to use “What happens when women say yes to God” and amazing, I mean amazing things happened!! I was such a God thing, I couldn’t wait to do another study by her. Thank you for your ministry, it has truly changed my life.

  231. I am sooo excited to join this Bible Study for many reasons! I need God in this area of my life! Thanks for putting this on!

  232. I am Emily and I am so excited about this study! I have lost 75 pounds in the past and thanks to babies and poor choices, I have to lose it again. Thankfully, I did it all with diet and exercise so I know I can do it again. THIS time, I want to learn how to be healthy with the power of the Lord and this study. Thank you so much for this opportunity. :)

  233. Marylyn T russell says:

I am so excited, I have already received the Devotional and it is so uplifting,
Have ordered the Book and work book, which has not come yet but I know it will be here soon.
When I realized how I have mistreated the Temple of God, ( my body ) it broke my heart, I sincerely repented and ask God to help me walk forth in His will for the health that He has promised me. Then I received an email in mail, that is how God things sometimes. But what ever way He chooses it is good because He is the one leading us, He knows my personality and knows just what I need.
My Spirit man is sealed, my soul is being sanctified daily
Now it’s time for my body to come in line, it is my believe that He is the one that designed this study so that His people could be set free and that their body will be fashioned in His image.
Third John 2. Beloved I pray above all things that you may prosper and be IN GOOD HEALTH , even as your soul prospereth . May He receive the glory of which He is due. It is He that gives the gifts to write the word to speak to His people.

  234. That video was great, it’s motivating to see the excitement on your end for the amount of people participating. I also found it to be inspirational since there are so many times that I won’t participate or try something because I am afraid I won’t do a perfect job of it. God doesn’t need my perfection he needs my willingness to try.
I have signed up for this bible study, as I am at a point in my life where I know that I need to make God a priority, and in order to serve Him to the fullest I need to make some necessary changes in my life.
I hope that this bible study will give me a God centered focus on losing weight and making healthy choices!

  235. Leigh powell says:

Mom of 4, youngest is 9 mo and only girl. I need to be healthy example to all my children but especially my daughter.

  236. Shantay-Indiana says:

So excited to be entering this drawing for the MTC prize package.
I am a 40 yrs old Mom, Wife, Gma and Career woman. I have lost weight with many programs before. My battle has been in keeping the weight off. I bought the book MTC when it first came out. A friend and I went through it together with great results; however life seemed to get in the way (as it has so many times before). Now I am at my largest weight ever and feel myself slipping into a depression (if I really thought about it). I am leaning on God and praying for his guidance.
I am thankful to be participating in my first OBS. The book is amazing and I know God has more for me to learn through all of this. Life happens and we need to learn to deal with it in ways pleasing to God. I am raising my grandbaby and my daughter is off to college in a few months. My son lives out of state and my husband and I are discussing moving to warmer limits this Fall. Lots of room for life to happen, it is time I held to God’s unchanging hand in this part of my life, too. Thanks!

  237. Crystal Eubanks says:

So looking forward to this study! I bought the book over a year ago and have yet to read it! Now that I am 5 months post baby, it’s time to get motivated to get out of this funk with God and shed a few pounds!

  238. I know all the “right things” I need to do to lose weight although that hasn’t helped me to do so recently…To lose weight and keep it off require the right mind and the right heart not just the right “diet” … I want to turn to God with both my mind and my heart rather than turn to food when the day to day creeps in and tries to sabotage my efforts.. I am so thankful that this Bible Study is being offered and I look forward to growing and learning in my faith and in my strength to become a healthier, lighter person

  239. Angella Lewis says:

My name is Angella Lewis from a small town in south eastern Indiana called Farmers Retreat! (That says it all!…just kidding)…married, mother of 5 who needs a WHOLE LOT LESS OF ME and whole lot more of Jesus!!!! Excited about MTC bible study starting Monday!!!! Yipee!!!

  240. I cried out for the Lord to help me after years of diet failure and what do you think popped into my “inbox?”…. yup! You guessed it! This is answered prayer at it’s finest!! So I KNOW without a shadow of doubt, that THIS is from the Lord.
To positive change and reaching for God instead of false idols!!
    THANK YOU!!!

  241. I am a mother of two grown children. Both are in their early 20′s and are out of the house. Being single, I get lonely at times. And I turn to food for something to do. I do keep busy with acting and friends. But have just felt that it is time to put taking care of my body first. As I am getting closer to 50, it is harder to lose. I have battled with losing and toning up for a long time, too long in fact. God has helped me with the lose of my home, hard time with finances and just life struggles in the past. So I know that He will help me with this also. I have read so many contradictory things in regards to losing weight: don’t eat this, eat that. I just want to get out of this rut. And I believe now the only way that will happen is to have God as my personal trainer. So I need to grow closer and listen and I am hoping this study will help me do that and keep me encouraged.

I pray everyone who is in the study gets out of it what they want. 30,000!! That is sooo awesome!!

  242. I signed up because I really need to crave God more. I’m sick of feeling defeated in my mind. My spirit and heart soar in the truth of God’s word-but concerning food it is short lived. I need to break free of the chains and be delivered. My Dr says I’m close to having diabetes and I have stomach troubles like acid-reflux and hiatial hernia. I live alone, but am not lonely :) I have a wonderful church family and I am sooo joyful always–just so mad at myself for not being able to stop eating unhealthy. And I want to crave Jesus waaaaaaay more than I crave sweets, breads, and allowing others to dictate how much I eat (like saying finish up the rest so I don’t throw it out, or here’s a piece of cake/pie [that I never asked for]) I want to choose to say no thank you or eat only a small portion. I expect my victory to manifest! =D

  243. Hi, I am a SAHM, My life belongs to God. I am married to a wonderful Christian man & my bestest friend ever, in the world. We have 3 awesome boys. We live in the Peachy state of GA. I Love to try new recipes, read novels, crochet, and spend time with my family.
What am I expecting from this study? I see it as my goal to encourage me to exercise and lose weight.
Yes, that’s true. But, first and foremost, when I come to the last page I want to have a closer walk with my Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus.

I am super excited this time, even more so, because a personal friend will be joining me on this walk.
    WooHoo!!

  244. I work a full time job outside of the home and I have a full time job at home with my two young children and husband. There is very little time in my day for myself after a 45 minute commute to and from work. Also, leaving very little time in the mornings and evenings with my family. In order to give my children and husband the attention they deserve, I only have my lunch hour to give myself the attention/peace that I deserve. Which is where I found the time for your most recent OBS A Confident Heart. I’ve always been a believer, but recently I’ve been struggling, wandering if my heart has been hardened to the point that I can’t give myself over to God fully. I listen to KLove continuously and the words of praise in the songs they play always play when I need them the most, letting me know that there is still a chance to soften my heart and give myself to God fully. I feel like this OBS may be what I need to teach let myself crave God and his strength, wisdom and patience I so desperately need.

  245. I am joining the study so I can really make the Lord the one and only one I crave. Thanks, everyone for making this available.

  246. Jayme Logan says:

I’m a 37 year old mother of 3. I have always struggled with my weight in my adult years I’ve weighed as much as 273 and as little as 182. I’m a fairly new christian and woukd love to deepen my relationship with the lord by leaning on him to help me overcome this life long struggle. I purchased lysas book after hearing someone at bible home group discuss it I just knew itvwas him giving her the strength to share thipersonal struggle to help guide me to the help I need.

  247. Julie Summerfield says:

I read Made to Crave over a year ago and really enjoyed it and it helped me with some food issues at the time. I’d been thinking of the book over the past couple months as I battled cravings like never before over the holidays and was feeling really distant from the Lord too. An online forum friend encouraged me to sign up for this bible study and I am really glad I did! I can’t wait to see how it is to take an online study and I will enjoy re-reading the book as well! Thanks for offering it to everyone!

  248. Patty Cooper says:

Hi, I am Patty, and I’m 67 years old, and I have been on a truck load of diets my whole adult life! If you name the diet or the weight loss program – I have been on it! But I do know, in my heart of hearts, that GOD is the answer! He is always the answer! So, I am super excited to start the study on Jan 19th! I have the book, but if my name is drawn, I will give the books to 2 girl friends of mine! God bless you and your ministry!

  249. Angie stafford says:

Because I need help and prayers.

  250. Nina Backes says:

I bought the book after discovering it on line while I was looking for help with eating after the holidays. I have had a 20 year battle with food, going up and down numerous times and I knew down deep inside that the Holy Spirit was telling me that this is a spiritual issue. God cannot be replaced by anything or anyone in my life. So, as I have begun reading this book, it has opened my eyes to several issues in my life that correlate with Lysa. It has made me laugh, cry and has motivated me to move forward so when I saw this Bible study, I was SO excited! I cannot wait to get started and look forward to the fellowship and information and encouragement! Thank you so very much for this ministry.

  251. Lori Campbell says:

I am 46, a woman of God, married and mother of three teenagers. I have always put the needs of everyone else above my own. I will be the first to say I haven’t taken care of me. A year and a half ago, I had to have a procedure done to my heart to try and get the rhythm restored to something “normal” as my heart beats VERY fast!! (Too bad it doesn’t count as aerobic activity!!) As I was awake for most of the procedure (for five hours while they sent video probes through my legs and up through my heart), I had a LOT of time to think while waiting for the point in which the doctor said “Ok, here we go, we’ll see you in an hour.” I know better than to make deals with God, but I did take a whole-hearted look at my life and where it was going. If I was blessed enough to make it off the table, I wanted five things. God got me off the table, and blessed me with four of the five. The last is for me to keep my word and take care of me. I have read the MTC for the teenager (Wonderful book!!) as I got the book for my daughter. Now I want to dig in and work on me. Looking forward to hearing your messages, coming closer to God, and being there for my sisters in Christ who struggle in the battle. May God bless you all as you lead us through this battle holding His ever-loving hands.

  252. I’m a freelance writer from Michigan, and I’m about 95-100 pounds overweight (I haven’t weighed myself in a few weeks, so not sure exactly). I signed up because I’m tired of being fat. I’m sure my occupation doesn’t help; I sit at a desk all day. But there are other things too: lack of exercise and too many cookies are probably the biggest culprits.

  253. Malinda M says:

I am 22 years old and just had my first child. I heard about made to crave on the proverbs 31 website and it felt like something I need right now. Being a first time mom I want to make my relationship with my saviour deeper, and turn to him in my rough moments and not other things. Looking forward to the study!!!!

  254. I am ‘exercising’ my ‘turn to God’ muscle this year. And the more I work out the stronger it gets. Made to Crave is part of my new regiment. Started the first two chapters=hand weights and it’s going great. It’s better when you work out with friends.

  255. I signed up because I’ve developed some bad habits over the years that I need to change.

  256. Lana Archer says:

This is my third bible study I have done with Proverbs 31. During each one, I have grown and learned so much about myself, but most important, learn so much and closer to my awesome God!!!!! Looking forward to this one and really hope I win the package….I have never been able to afford the calls…I believe it would be such a blessing and enhance the study…God bless all the leaders and teachers…and thanks.

  257. I signed up for this because I can’t control my eating by myself. I have let food become my comfort source and I don’t want that anymore. I feel so empty sometimes inside and food doesn’t fill that space anymore. I desperately want to learn to lean on God for my comfort. Thank you for hosting this.

  258. Rachel Knudson says:

I joined the online bible study because I have been searching for groups and bible studies to help build my relationship with Jesus and because I want to be involved with mission trips that will require me to become more active i need to be healthy. As well as my children and my husband needing me to be healthy both physically and spiritually.

  259. Hi! Amber here! I’ve been constantly struggling with weight loss. I have a desire to be healthy, I know how to get there but I don’t have the RIGHT motivation. I’ve been trying to do it on my own, under my control. Now I’m finally at the place I should have been from the beginning, enlisting Gods help. He pointed me in this direction do I will listen.

  260. Chris Utter says:

Bought this book and began reading it after I had read another of your books. Life got crazy and I put it down. Decided this was my opportunity to start again. I already gave up soda 4 days ago and have friends for exercise support, but I need this study.

  261. This will be my third time doing the Made to Crave Bible Study. The first was online and the lessons I learned were invaluable. I felt so close to the Lord during the time I was doing the study. The second was with a wonderful group of ladies at my church which added a whole new dimension to the experience. I have wandered a way a bit from my close walk with God due to busyness and life. I am looking forward to brushing up on the lessons in the book. It’s like coming home to an old friend. Each time I read the book I discover new truths that jump out at me! Can’t wait to see what lessons are waiting for me…

  262. I started reading this book a few years ago and then looked into a group that would be interested in doing the study. However I couldn’t find any one that was interested. I am excited that this is now an online Bible study. If we can only understand how much of us that God wants and then implement that into our lives, we will be so much richer. When I say we, I mean myself as well. Thank you!

  263. We recently moved out of state. Away from family, friends and our church. I need a way to connect with other women as well as continue strongly in my spiritual walk as we strive to find the church God has for us. This Bible study will serve many purposes in my life.

  264. I have come to realize that it has nothing to do with actual food (although I do love it), it’s about my heart.

  265. Candace Muhlenkamp says:

I am signing up for the MTC OBS because I am reclaiming my health in 2014! It’s not about losing weight or fitting better in my jeans, it’s about restoring the temple! I’m a 30 year old cancer survivor and mother of 5, including a set of twins. I also have a form of rheumatoid arthritis affecting my spine. As you can imagine, that has taken a toll on my body over the last several years! I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired!!! Here’s to a happier and healthier new US!!

  266. I have never done an online study before, and I am thrilled that I don’t have to worry about bringing a snack or childcare. I have a very dear friend that purchased the book for me, and when the opportunity to do this as an online study arose, I invited her to do it together. I am praying that we both take away exactly what we need to and maybe a little more

    • Sooo true! No snacks needed or childcare to worry about! =) (As a former director of women’s ministry, that comment completely resonates with me.) =)

Glad you’re joining us, AND that you’re bringing a dear friend. You’re going to be amazed at all that God can do in these online platforms! =) ~Steph

  267. Angie Vollhaber says:

Diet plans can be helpful, if often only temporary, in my experience. I want the power of my Lord Jesus to be present in this process for a permanent change. Weight loss and a healthier me will be great side effects, but I want and need to invite Him in on my struggle and allow Him to show me exactly how He IS Jehovah Jireh.

  268. Kacy Oleson says:

I joined Made To Crave for a number of reasons. I can’t be a part of my regular bible study right now so I was looking for something to be a part of.
I’ve struggled with weight my whole life. I struggle between food addiction and letting myself use it to make me feel better (and then I beat myself up) or when I am eating well – obsessing over it. Like looking forward to/dreading every single meal. Constantly thinking about food – crying if for some reason I don’t get that “treat” or reward from food I expected. It’s been a long cycle – and while I’m in okay shape – I could stand to lose some weight. But I’ve realized that I’ve always relied on myself and that I’ve definitely let food become and idol. I’ve not sought Gods wisdom in this area of my life and I desperately need it. So when I found out about Made To Crave – I felt God pulling and calling me (for a few months now) to a place where He wants to teach me. Then I saw the online bible study for this book and immediately signed up! I’m encouraging everyone I know to participate and I’m super excited to see Gods hand in this!

  269. Amanda C. says:

My ways of trying to lose weight and keep it off haven’t worked. It’s time for me to get a fresh perspective and let God show me how to have grace for myself and live the best life he intends for me to have. I listened to Lysa’s book last year, and I’m looking forward to another go-round reading it with lots of new girlfriends!

  270. Anita Winborne says:

Tired of yo-yo dieting. Ready to have a commitment for real! Not just about food but up truly crave God like is used too. Needing a revival in myself!

  271. I’m excited to start this study. I would like to be temperate in all things and have my body in subjection and take good care of this temple of God’s that He inhabits. I’m tired of circling this mountain!

  272. Janise Bishop says:

I have been on a diet since I was in 4th grade and the only time I really lost weight was when I was pregnant with twins. I will never understand that but I noticed that during that time my desire for food was only to provide nourishment for my kids. It was all about their health. If I would learn how to transfer that desire to only craving God then all the “weight issues” change to contentment in the only one who truely nourishes.

  273. My name is Amy, I am a fitness instructor with a eating problem!! Not a good mix. I find myself embarrassed by my weight and feel like I am a poor example to the people that attend my classes. I either fall between restrictive eating or over indulging. I have dieted many times before, only to fall off and go the other way. But, the one thing I realize I have left out every time is God. I can’t do this on my own power anymore. I need Him to be my source, to be What I crave more than anything else!!

  274. This will be the second time for me to do MTC. My book is highlighted from the first time but I am so thrilled that I will be using a different color to separate the two different times. I know I will get even more out of it “the second time around.

  275. Thanks for this study. I have read the book and really loved the basis of the book. Motivation for weight loss is hard. Making the motivation be one of utmost importance–our walk with God–means even more.

  276. I am so excited for this study. I read the book last year & was really good while I was reading it. I paced myself & really let each chapter sink in. Then, I kind of got off course. I think that this will be a great way to kick off the new year when I’m yearning to bring good habits back into my life. Knowing that so many others are involved & wanting to become healthier is so motivating. Thank you for this opportunity. I’m so excited. Happy 2014!

  277. I am going to do this study because, last month, I found out from my doctor that I added 30 more pounds in lesss than six months to my already obese body. I am hurting. My body is telling me in many different ways that I MUST lose weight…a lot of weight to start being a better stornger me. Seriously, my joints ache, I snore at night and wake myself up… my husband says he thinks I may have Sleep Apnea. I am perpetually tired and feel side-lined in life. basically, I have literally eaten myself sick! I really want to trust God with this…It’s difficult. I have created a chain of bondage that is wrapped tightly around my body. Each link is made of bad food choices I have made. I know that only God can release me from this self-imposed bondage.I know I was created for so much more than what I am doing. I want so much to serve Jesus with energy and vitality and a strong body.

    • Nicole Fellows says:

I am right there with you Adonna….and I do have sleep apnea….it compounds the weight problem….it is a vicious cycle….we can break it together with God’s help.

  278. Nicole Fellows says:

I signed up for Made To Crave because I am about 100 pounds overweight according to the BMI charts. I also know a LOT about how to eat better. However, I also know because of hurts in my soul this is a battle that I cannot win just by changing my eating. I have done that before. I am praying for a heart and soul change that will allow me to control and actually enjoy the food I eat. I eat all the time and get no pleasure from it.

  279. Beverly Mitchell says:

I’ve never done an online Bible study before. I’m hoping this one will help me “eat to live” instead of “live to eat” .

  280. The past 7 months have been the hardest of my life. My best friend lost her beloved 2 and half year old son while he was napping. Another friend of my has an 8 year old son currently in the hospital with terminal cancer. He is in a stage of transitioning. Their hope is in Jesus and he has peace and knows he will be with Jesus soon. I have packed on the pounds these past months because i have filled my anxieties, questions and worries with food. I have also sought the Lord and he has put my faith through the winepress. Food is immediate, God’s answers sometimes take longer. Sometimes there is no answer. I have struggled with food issues all my adult life. These times of trial have been an eye opener to me. I want to live my life well. I want to care for my temple of the Holy Spirit. I want to crave God more than anything else. I’ve joined MTC OBS to gain a deeper insight on how to crave God and God alone and to enjoy the fellowship of other women in the same boat as me.

  281. I joined to strengthen my relationship with God as I continued to tweak a healthy lifestyle to maintain my good diabetes levels.

  282. Linda Daily says:

I’m so excited to join this study, I bought my book a while ago and have only read the beginning so it’s time to dust it off and get busy.
I am 56 and So indecisive that I want to order the conference calls and journal one minute and the next I’m good to go with my E book! Win or lose this package I’m still a winner with Jesus!

  283. I decided that 2014 was the year to quit making excuses and I saw where my niece had challenged some of her friends to take this course….God touched my heart and showed me that this is just the beginning I need. I really believe that you are never to old (will be 61 next week) to make the right changes in your life and I know God will honor this opportunity.

  284. Jennifer T says:

    Hi all,
I am here because I heard about this book from my Pastor who was starting a bible study on it, but I was unable to make it since I am a full-time student. I started reading it on my own and I am only on Chapter 6, but already I feel a difference in how I have been thinking about food. I know there is so much more in this book that is going to help me make positive changes in my life, so I am glad my sister told me about this study, because I would like to make time in my busy schedule to finish the book.

I am 27 (a little less than 30 days away from turning 28) and I really want a deeper relationship with God and I also desire to get healthy so my husband and I can get started making babies. I have always wanted to have a healthy pregnancy and with my graduate degree finishing up soon and making these decisions to get healthy, we think by mid-year we’ll be ready to get started.

  285. I’m a wife and mother of 3 boys and signed up because this has been a season of craving for me, not just food, but relationships and purpose and I know that ultimately only God can fulfill the desires of my heart. Excited about the study and hopeful this will also give me the desire to be diligent to lose 20 lbs.

  286. Stephanie Blitz says:

I joined the online bible study because I have never participated in an online study. Also, I have heard great reviews for Made To Crave and am very excited to begin the Bible Study.

  287. 30,000 + women growing in Christ

  288. I have been overweight most of my adult life. I want to be able to run and play with my six year old without being breathless, look in the mirror and feel that I’m just as beautiful from the neck down as I am from the neck up, and serve as a role model for my daughter on what being “healthy” is.

  289. I joined the online study because I’ve been missing having a regular Bible study group AND because, once and for all (!!), I need to settle my issues with weight and move past this obstacle in my life and relationship with the Lord.
I already have my e-book and have read the Introduction and Chapter One. All I can say is “Wow!”…exactly WHAT I needed to hear and WHEN I needed it. Looking forward to doing the study!

  290. My name is Jeni…And I am sooooo tired of failing every attempt at eating healthy…I WANT to know what ever that missing link is and perhaps in this journey with God, I will find it. :) That would be GREAT for my whole family! Can you tell I am VERY excited?

  291. Debbie Lanier says:

I so need to lose some weight & I have no willpower. I am hoping the discipline of this study will bring me closer to God & help me say no to food.

  292. Sarah Wolff says:

I joined as I just can’t seem to find the “strength” to loose weight, and I have been trying to squeeze in time to study the bible more. When I saw this Online study I mentioned it to a friend from church and asked if she would like to read it with me and we can talk about it, she said sure, and then we decided if we want to talk about it, why not ask our other friends on facebook if they would like to do the same…. a month later we have 27 people in our facebook group just waiting to read the book and share support and inspiration as we follow along with the Online Study with ya’ll!!! We can’t wait and I know this is going to be life changing for not only us, but the 30,000 other women that will going along this journey. Thank you for leading us on it!!!!!!

  293. Dena Johnson says:

I’ve been struggling with weight issues most of my life. I’ve been wanting to read this book for a while and thought this was the perfect opportunity!

  294. I have heard that this is a great book. I just don’t want to go through it alone. I am looking forward to the online community.

  295. Barb Reagle says:

I just loved the concept of changing my mindset to craving more of God rather than food (or any other thing that we use as a substitute)

  296. Wednesday, I was worrying about some things I asked God to handle for me so I decided to google Bible verses about “worry”. Proverb 31 Ministries was one of sites I noticed as I was looking at the search results. The first thing I noticed on the site was the Made to Crave OBS. I ran to my phone to see if this was the same thing as the 21 day reading plan from my Bible app. The MTC 21 day reading plan has been such a blessing I HAD to join in the upcoming OBS!! I ordered my book from an online bookstore immediately after joining the group. I can’t wait to get started with the OBS because I TRULY NEED IT!

  297. Robin Wahlstrom says:

I am so excited to do an on-line Bible study that fits into my busy schedule. Some friends and I are doing the study on our own and meeting weekly to discuss it. Can’t wait to start! :) We all need to keep our hearts and minds on God and not on food. Great job! Thank you.

  298. I’m looking forward to doing this with some of my friends in another state.

  299. Carrie McKay says:

I signed up, basically because I feel lonely in my persuit of growning in the Lord. I hope to learn from others, and to feel blessed by this unique fellowship opportunity.

  300. To build a closer relationship with God and crave more goodness!

  301. I have read this book several times and I always come away learning things that are helping me on my journey to be healthier and happier. I am so excited about this study. I have been following Weight Watchers for a little over a year and I have lost 97 pounds, with 150 more to lose. I have the physical eating part figured out, but I am still working on the emotional and spiritual aspects of food.

  302. Amy Harris says:

My coworker hounded me until I finally agreed to sign up!!! Now I am excited to be doing this with 30,000 other people.

  303. Ally Kumpfer says:

Hey all! Here is my story. I have always struggled with food and body image. I’ve had the book for awhile now but I have never fully read it. I love all things food and nutrition but sometimes I lack the will power to resist what I know is bad for me. That’s where this study comes in. I’m really hoping that this OBS helps me learn how to turn to God in times of struggle, not only with food but in all aspects of my life. It has been just about 16 months since I gave birth to our beautiful baby girl and I am just now back at my pre-pregnancy weight (thank you breastfeeding!). My husband and I are starting a campus ministry at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay this spring and we are in the middle of raising our support. We came about campus ministry after my husband lost his job in October 2012 when our daughter was 3 weeks old. We ended up moving in with my parents and we have been living with them ever since, so money is really tight for us and food has been my outlet. I want so badly to have the strength and courage to rely on God alone in this issue. I cannot wait for this study to get started and those conference call would be such a blessing for me. Thank you so much to P31!

  304. I’m excited to go thru this study again with so many other women! I first met Lysa thru the webinar she did the year her book made the NY Times best seller list. I listened over & over to those webinars, each time gleaning more & applying that insight to my heart. I won a battle that year, but am still in the war & I’m thankful that this is a process the Lord is walking me thru; I know nothing is wasted ~ neither my failures or successes ~ He can use it all to reveal His heart to me. To live a life pleasing to Him is above all my goal for 2014. Blessings & strength to all of us as we move forward!

  305. Julie Maddox says:

I first read Made to crave about 2 years ago and it inspired me. I tried Metabolic weight loss and did well because when I started it was about rebuilding the temple that God provided. I lost focus when my counselors moved on from that job, and I was trying to do it in my power and not focused on God. I have gained that weight back and then some more. I have to find the support to keep it God focused and not on myself; that is the only way I will be able to do this. My schedule is crazy ( up for work at 3:00 am, at the computer until 3:30 pm or when I run out of work, help husband around our farm, help daughter with school work, make dinner and to bed…repeat for the next 6 days).
This study will help be refocus back on God and make more time for studying His word. It’s not about the numbers, it’s about being a testimony to the struggle and how God is working it out for me….with my effort thru Him.

  306. I’m in my late 30s and I have struggled with my weight since junior high. I worked really hard to lose my pregnancy weight three years ago, only to slip back into old, bad habits and put what I lost and then some back on. I know I look to food for comfort. I bought MTC at the used book store run by my local friends of the library organization. I got about half way through it, quit, and started reading again. I’m almost done reading in the first time. I know I need to take better care of my body. I know I need to be a better example for my daughter. My Sunday school class did the Unglued study last year and I loved it. I’m looking forward to reading the book again, this time with group support, and making some positive, lasting changes.

  307. I am a writer who lives in Chicago. I got the Made to Crave book a couple of years ago and signed up for the first online reading group but I didn’t follow through. It’s a new year and I am more hopeful for change than I have been in a long time so I look forward to learning and growing with the group this time around.
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” -Philippians 1:6

  308. Kristie Starbuck says:

I joined made to crave online book study because I have a very hard time losing weight I’ve tried everything and I still struggle with food i’m hoping that if I can lean more on God and other women having the same struggles and less on myself I will be successful

  309. Shari Brase-Smith says:

I have been battling my weight for most of my adult life. I have tried so many diets, only to regain the lost weight quickly, and usually plus some extra on top. I know that food has been a way to cope with anxiety, depression, anger, and even joy. Far more important than weight is my relationship with Christ, which is simply what it should be, and could be. My real goal is to develop a real relationship with Christ, because I know that my future in eternity relies on what I say and do now!

  310. I have tried and failed over and over again. I know that ONLY GOD can give me victory in the area and help me lose these unhealthful pounds! I want more of HIM!

  311. I found the book and ordered it in December and started following Lysa on Facebook. I was so excited to find an online bible study to go along with reading this book – I did not even know such things existed. I already feel so much more encouraged! I have had chronic back pain and herniated discs for the last 3 years, and my son became sick with Lyme Disease shortly after my own injury. He was not diagnosed for a over a year and was sooooo sick. I stopped exercising because of these two things and used food to comfort me during the hardest time in my life. I have tried to lose the weight that I have gained through dieting and it does not work. I know this is a much larger issue for me and that I have been going to food instead of God. I am hoping to grow closer to God and get healthy as well. Thank you so much for doing this study.

    • Brynn, I’ve got my own post much further down, but I also wanted to let you know that my 17-year old son, a high school senior, was diagnosed with Lyme Disease almost a year ago, and has been on medical homebound from school since then because of the extreme fatigue he experiences. So, I don’t get out much. I understand! Blessings!

      • Brynn Schmidt says:

        Hi Carol,
I am so sorry to hear about your son. Is he getting any better? If you ever want to talk about your experience or compare notes, please contact me at brynn@flatironsphotography.com. I feel like I am a Lyme expert after all the research I have done. I was completely homebound with him for about 2 1/2 years. He is finally improving thanks to our amazing LLMD. Do you have a good Lyme doctor? Please email me any time.

  312. Jennifer Harris says:

I first joined online bible study during the Confident Heart OBS and I loved it! When I saw Made to Crave I knew I had to do it too! I want to be healthy for myself and my family and have been working toward that goal ever since my mom died of cancer 5 years ago. I often forget that when I struggle I need to turn to God and I KNOW that MTC is going to help me do that, I want to never forget to CRAVE God! Thank you P31 for hosting these OBS!

  313. Myra Crawford says:

This is my first online Bible study and I am so excited. It seems to be what I need at this time!

  314. SueAnn Krause says:

Hi Everybody! I’m doing the online bible study, Made to Crave, because I’m a food addict! I love to eat! Not only when I’m hungry, but because it’s there. I’ve been a Weight Watchers member for about 25 years and I lose weight, and put it back on. Right now I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been! I’m hoping I can figure out why I eat. I need to know that God can quell my hunger, and not always food!!

  315. Mary Catherine says:

Truly…I am all in! I crave so many things and the first and foremost should be my relationship with God. I am very excited about this journey! Thank you for the opportunity!

  316. I’m moved by reading the other women’s responses and feel relief in not being alone in my struggles with the scale (which I currently walk past and growl at). Looking forward to support and Godly perspective and maybe some tips to get through Girl Scout Cookie Season-:)!

  317. Charman Gonzalez says:

I signed up for this class so I can understand how to have a deeper relationship with GOD not the food I eat!

  318. I joined because I find all my excuses are not working for me anymore-:-). To have a safe place I can go and show my heart and fears to a group of caring, like-minded women of God. Why would I not want to be a part of a wonderful idea and support system like this. And to think, I will then be sharing with 30,000 of my closest friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  319. I signed up for this study because I am CRAVING a deeper and more personal relationship with my savior Jesus Christ, along with a CRAVING to lose extra weight that I’ve been carrying around for a couple of years…weight that is harming me both physically (aches & pains; sleep apnea) and emotionally (feeling unworthy of looking and feeling better). Blessings to all 30,000+ OBS’ers!!

  320. Courtney Eller says:

I am so pumped about this bible study. I don’t know about y’all, but food is just such an issue with me. I’m really looking forward to unlocking the ‘why’ behind why I do what I do, and learning how to use God’s strength to respond when I feel weak. I know I have it in me to make the right decisions, and I’m hoping to build that confidence to make healthy, life-long changes that shows God I am putting Him first in my life, not food.

  321. Jock'Lene says:

I signed up for this bible study because I definitely need a change in my thought patterns regarding food. I am a 42-year-old sedentary female that has struggled with weight my entire life. There are multiple times that I just gave up and decided that this is how I am always going to be (I know — this is NOT how I should be thinking about it) and just eat and do whatever I want. Then I have to start ALL over again and it is very discouraging. I do it to myself, I know but I am ready to get off this roller coaster and be consistent. I just finished the Unglued bible study and book and if is anything CLOSE to what that book was then I know that my life will change because of it. Unglued has been a pivotal point in my life and I am so thankful that God brought it in my life. I am ready to explore this new phase and go from glory to glory with all the lovely and precious ladies that God has brought to this bible study!

  322. I signed up for the Made to Crave OBS because I have had a problem with my eating habits and I definitely always put off eating healthy till the next Monday, then something will come up that day and I will think I better wait till the next Monday to have a fresh start. Its a vicious cycle I am ready to break!!! I actually started the Daniel Fast on January 5th and praying to break those bad eating habits, along with other prayer requests. My main priority is getting a closer, more intimate relationship with God. I am going until the 25th on the fast.
Very excited about this Bible study!
    God Bless~

  323. Susan Lynch says:

I have so enjoyed the two bible studies that I have done that I felt lead to participate in this one also. My church offers bible study but not a women’s bible study so I am so glad that I was lead to Proverbs 31. It has been wonderful and I have enjoyed it so much. I have learned so many wonderful techniques like verse mapping and verse chaining and all of the cool sites to be used for study tools. Being in these bible studies has kept me in the word everyday. Being in a small group (thanks to Megan Lindsay Kincheloe) has really been very beneficial as I have made some new online friends and have enjoyed the extra push that the small group give. PUSH is my word for the year. One way I am using push is Pray Until Something Happens but it can also mean for me to push outside of my comfort zone when needed. Thank you Proverbs 31. All of you ladies do a great job and I am so blessed to have you in my life.

  324. I know that I need to lose weight and my heart led me to join this study because I could never get “too” close to God. I love the aspect of using the word to conquer my food cravings. I pray for blessings on every person that signed up for this journey we are about to take.

  325. This book led me to the Proverbs 31 ladies! At the time I said, “boy, I wish there was on an online study for THIS book!” And look-my prayers came true :) Can’t wait to dig in with you all!!

  326. I joined the Made to Crave Bible study because my family and I are in a year of transition and new beginnings, and I want to be see change spiritually AND physically at the end of the year, in preparation for future adventures.

  327. Thank you can’t wait to get started and hope I don’t miss out on anything or any opportunity – in this study. In life. In walking closer with God!

  328. Cindy Brattain says:

I read Made to Crave and shared with friends but got away from it. I ordered the book, guide and DVD but have done NOTHING with it! So now is the TIME!

  329. I joined because this sounds like exactly like what I need right now to get me motivated and to get closed to God at the same time. I am so excited about this I can’t wait… I have already started reading!!!

  330. Sharon Sosebee says:

My name is Sharon and I am on the journey to see what is possible when I trust God for this journey He has called me on. I have struggled my entire adult life with being overweight. I have lost and gained and lost and gained some more :( BUT I know that all things are possible when God is involved! I am hoping that doing this Bible study will supplement what God is already working in my life. I’m SO excited!!!

  331. Missy Hamilton says:

I have tried so many ways, but just can’t stay motivated. I realize that I need a mind and heart change before I can change my body. I saw this study being offered and thought it would be so exciting to meet new friends through the study, grow closer to God and as a result, hopefully transform my body as a result.

  332. I’m Evie from Oregon. I’m 57, semi-retired and work part-time from home. I’m a Project Manager and have 18 Independent Contractors in three states that service over 1,000 locations! I’ve been married for going on 36-years to a wonderful man. We have two grown sons, Andy & Aaron. Andy is married and has two young children (Danielle aka Dani (4-years) and Cameron (7-months). We love being a grandparents. They call me Grandma Edie and my husband is Papa Tom. My daughter-in-law is a fantastic mother. Our youngest son, Aaron, who will be 31 next month, is mildly disabled. His “symptoms” are similar to Autism. He has a pretty severe speech deficit and although he “tests out” to be between a 6-12 year old, he’s pretty high functioning. In his lifetime, he has been diagnosed twice with terminal conditions. Obviously God had other plans, as Aaron is still with us and going strong! He works part-time and lives on his own in an apartment. Tom & I, and Aaron are all adjusting to our new life in the Portland area.
I signed up to continue the bible study with this amazing group of ladies. The support and encouragement is exactly what I needed in my life. Their knowledge is shared in way that I can relate to. God has blessed me by expanding my Christian Sisterhood and I feel a connection with this group. I’m excited to see what successes we’ll be sharing with each other and also how we will encourage each other to stay the course and crave our loving Lord. This is going to be a life changing journey, I can just feel it!

  333. Ashlie :) says:

35 year old mother of 3 who needs to lose 100 lbs and wants a closer walk with Christ. Will be doing the online study with a couple of friends and then plan to start a small group at my church in the summer and hopefully again in the fall. I would love an extra copy of the materials to passalong to someone

  334. Sherry Luckey says:

I want to get closer to God during this study. I also want to understand myself more and stop using food as my consolation and know that my true happiness is up to me. and by making my heart open to God’s way and his word I will find true happiness. I have to stop doing things my way because it’s just not working – imagine that!! :-)

  335. Looking to combine my focusing on Jesus with my unhealthy focus of what I look like!

  336. Megan Brown says:

I am in my late 20s and work as a cashier! I signed up the this study because this year I want to learn to rely and trust on God more this year and I figured this study would help me do that.

  337. Kathryn Fosnaugh says:

I signed up because I have tried everything but God to help me lose weight. I think it is time I gave this whole issue over to Him!

  338. Christina Fields says:

Hi I’m Christina Fields. I’m from WV. I’m married and have teenage kids. I wanted to do this bible study so I can grow closer to God. I always want to lose weight. AND I LOVE my OBS with PROVERBS 31. This will be my 3rd study and I feel I have grown so much during the last 2!!

  339. Being a working mother of 2 school age girls, I have to admit I was a bit skeptical of an OBS. But after seeing all that has signed up, has made me excited to get started. I’m thrilled to start this journey with 30,000+ ladies!!!

  340. Hi! I have struggled with my weight my entire life…there were periods or seasons where it would be okay and then when stress hit, my comfort was always more food than God. Although I’ve been walking with Him since 1999 I have continued to struggle with turning to Him entirely for comfort rather than food. I pray that this is the step I need to take (this study) to get me on track and stay there!

  341. Hi Everyone! I’m a newlywed, and an educator and I am craving something new, something different, and I am craving food constantly. I have taken this bible study previously, but my church for some reason (I have literally no idea) decided that they would stop in the middle and not continue. So, I’m excited to do the whole study all the way through. I’m excited to allow Jesus to move and I’m excited for the opportunity to meet other Daughters of the One True King!

  342. I signed up for this online study for two reasons. One is that I am not eating and exercising as I should be and I want to make a change. The second reason is five months ago I moved 800 miles from where I lived. I know that it will take time to find a church and make new friends who are strong in their faith. I believe this study will encourage me in my health and in my walk with the Lord.

  343. Lisa Rettig says:

I am one of many who has tried a bazillion times to lose weight. Looking for that push to help me succeed.

  344. amy fischer says:

My mom and I are both signed up so I would love to win and give her the extra prize package.

  345. Leigh Anne Hutto says:

I’m excited to go thru the Made To Crave study. I’ve never done an OBS before…I know that Godis going to teach me a lot during this study!

  346. I feel like God’s leading me to this. I went to Family Christian the other day because I felt compelled to go even though I had nothing to buy. I walked out with a copy of Teasi Cannon’s “My Big Bottom Blessing.” When I came back, I got your email for the Made to Crave study. It just felt like all signs were pointing to something that God wanted me to address. Then, listening to Cannon’s book, she addresses issues of hurt and healing in our life and it’s as though God is saying to me “it’s time to let go, move forward and bask in my embrace.” I’m looking forward to receiving His blessings through your study.

  347. I know why I do what I do and that I am not doing what I should for my health. I just need a little help (kick)from God and you girls to get me motivated and headed in the “right” direction! New baby- New Year- New Outlook!

  348. Elaine Fox says:

Making a commitment to realize the reality Romans 7. My flesh will never want to follow Christ-but my heart can! I want to be a woman full of the guidance of the Holy Spirit-tuned in, striving to turn to the discernment of Christ and not my flesh.

  349. Hello,
I need to find peace and quit turning to food for comfort. I am looking for a direction that I can grow in overtime and change for the better.

  350. Hi!! My name is Calder Thomas and I am from windy West Texas! This is my first online bible study and am anxious to begin! I am on medical disability and I love being a homemaker but something has been “missing” . My 3 children are grown and moved to different parts of the country and this holiday season has been rather difficult.
So.. I have really been praying about this and I believe a “Fresh Start”may be in order!! People think a preachers wife should “have it made”! I can attest “it ain’t so!”

I look forward to the study and have really enjoyed your devotionals on line..

    Thanx for this opportunity!
    Have a blessed day!

  351. Michelle Mertic says:

I am 45 years old, and I have struggled with my weight my entire life. I’ve been successful in losing weight twice, but have never been successful in maintaining that loss, and it seems as if the weight comes back on twice as fast as it does to take it off! I have been on a really awesome spiritual journey this past year, and I am excited to participate in Made to Crave because I think it will further enrich and enhance my journey. Thanks for the opportunity!

  352. I love that video! Lysa’s cartwheel looks about like something I would do (I never learned how to do cartwheels).
I have Made to Crave and the Made to Crave devotional already so please consider one of these other wonderful ladies before me when it comes time to pick names for the giveaway. I signed up to do this because I am recognizing patterns of eating in my life that are not healthy and I want to nip that in the bud before it becomes a full-fledged, “OMGosh how did this happen and what do I do now” type of problem. Thank you so much for all the hard work you put into these online Bible studies!

  353. Teresa Oneida says:

I signed up to get closer to God & if I lose weight too, BONUS!!!!! I am doing this with some girlfriends, starting a ladies Bible Study. We thought this was a good way to get one started!!!

  354. Carissa D. Huffman says:

I am really feeling like this is the time for me to really learn to crave God above all else. I am a 45 year old mom of a preschool boy. I have tto much weight, too much stuff, and too little money. I know these are outward signs of an inward problem. MTC really touched me in the past, but I need this to really become my life. I need a healthier physical, mental and spiritual me. My family is goinf through some big changes with our church right now, and I need to be ready for a lot of new.

Thanks for all these OBS opportunities–it seems like they always give me much that I need!

  355. Rhonda Peters says:

I am a married, over weight, unhealthy youth leader. My husband and I want a baby more than anything in the world but because of my health issues and my weight we have had no success. I know what I need to but I find that I have not had the “want power” to do it. This year will be different. I signed up for CRAVING to help me with the lifestyle changes that I have put into place for myself in 2014. Also as a youth leader I am with kids when the rest of my church is having Bible study. I teach Sunday school so I don’t get to go to the one for my own age. I have kids surrounding me during Sunday morning service. I feel I never get to feed my own soul. I am so EXCITED!!!

  356. Phyll Drew says:

I signed up for this study because I HAVE to get healthy. My daughters already lost their daddy; I don’t want them losing their mom too! My mom & dad have both had heart attacks within the last year, with my dad having triple bypass surgery. There are so many health problems that I will face in the not so distant future due to genetics that I want to lose weight and get healthy so I can have a fighting chance of beating them! I also want to stop using food in unhealthy ways and teach/show my daughters how to lean on my God instead of food.

  357. Cyndie Lawrence says:

Hello all!! I am a mother of six children, yes I said SIX lovely children ranging from 5 to 19. I am married to my best friend whom I absolutely love with all of my heart. I go to school full time and I work full time, as well as a youth leader at our church. I love all of my duties, however that does not leave me too much time to eat healthy therefore I have gained quite a bit of weight and I have joined this study to learn how to not only loose the weight, but how to help me with satisfying my hunger for the Lord. I believe that with this study I can accomplish both goals, by loosing weight and growing ever so closer to our Lord.

  358. Jayne Keur says:

I am really looking forward to this study. As a wife & mom of 2 young boys I feel i get of track so easy & food has been my “vice” in the past.

  359. Carissa D. Huffman says:

  360. i am so looking forward to this and i have gotten my mother to join me in the adventure. this is my first online bible study and i am not sure of what to expect but i know that everytime God’s word is used it can only lead to a closer relationship to Him.

  361. I’m EXCITED!

  362. I have reached the point in my life, where I’m tired of my weight. I can’t do it on my own anymore. I have never done online study before looking forward to it.

  363. I have been prompted to read this book ever since it came out. I try really hard to eat right and most of the time do. I work out for 1 1/2 hrs 5 days a week. Something is still not right. God has always prompted me to do certain things ie. reach out to whoever is brought to my mind and when I do, I am so blessed because the Lord knew that person needed to hear from someone. I am real good about that because He doesn’t leave me alone until I submit. Somehow we dont always listen when its us that He is trying to help and that book was brought to my mind countless times. I am so excited to add to my concerted effort and KNOW that all things are possible through Him. Amen!

  364. I am an introvert, I signed up for Made to Crave because I am looking for new opportunities to grow in my spiritual life, I like how in this study women encourage, support and uplift each other, I am looking forward to supportive prayers and encouragement. I am looking for a new adventure and grow closer to God than before; I am a sinner; bitterness, fear and loneliness sometimes get a hold of me. I am looking forward to ideas on each others encouragements. Blessings to all.

  365. SueAnn Krause says:

Lysa TerKuerst! I do cartwheels just like you!!!

  366. Tiffani Ward says:

I decided to join the OBS after I bought the book a couple of months ago. I really felt that I needed to get my relationship with God back on track and my self-disciple will come along with following His word. I have always prayed to him for help in my weight loss struggles, but never put him at the head of the struggle. That’s probably why I would pray in the morning asking for help then find myself going through the McDonald’s drive through ordering 2 sausage biscuits. I want to get and stay healthy and nothing is to hard for my God! I am really excited to start this and see how it goes!!!!!

  367. I’m really excited. Gained 30 lbs on medication & also been strugling in my devotional times.

  368. Cecilia Lopez says:

I thought it would be good for myself and coworkers to do together. Not necessarily for them but for me, I normally don’t finish what i start. With God and my friends I’m sure to finish.

  369. Christine says:

I have read several of Lysa’s books over the last year. This will be my first study. I am excited!!

  370. Raena Graham says:

  371. Kathy Ivill says:

I’m looking forward to doing the MTC Bible study, because God had been speaking to me about making a “life-long” resolution to get healthy. Because I want to be obedient to Him, I began this week to do so. Then I found out about this study- God’s timing is perfect!!!

  372. Rachel Throne says:

I need my Heavenly Father’s help!

  373. Sharon Hutton says:

I want to participate in MTC because your Facebook posts always speak to me . I have friends that have recommended your books, but I just have never made the time for myself to enjoy them. I promised myself that this year I would allow myself the gift of time to grow, read the bible more often, grow spiritually and devote time daily to this endeavor. I was praying about doing just that when I saw a post mentioning Made to Crave and I clicked sign me up! I still need to order the books, but I shared the post anyway hoping that it speaks to someone else as well.

    Blessings,
    Sharon

  374. Jennifer Stogner says:

I signed up for a Made to Crave Home bible study class 2 years ago and loved the course and the supportive fellowship. I didn’t complete the course because I took a new job and wasn’t mentally committed at that time. I have lost 30 pounds since then and gained 10 pounds back in the last 2 months as I fell back into emotional eating habits while dealing with a death in my family and Holiday chaos. I know this Bible study will get me refocused both mentally and physically and I CAN’T WAIT to get started!!!!!

  375. Hi! My name is Laura and I’m 39 years old. I have a wonderful husband and 2 children ages 13 and 10. For the last 10+ years, I have been at a constant battle with food. It has been a love-hate relationship. I am so extremely hopeful that this book and Bible study is exactly what I need to turn my relationship with food and God in the right direction.

  376. Growing up I never thought about my weight. I was always tall and lean. I ate whatever I wanted, I wasn’t particularly active, my favorite thing to do was sit around and read while snacking on something chocolatey or sweet. It never caught up with me until I had my first son. I was excited that I could eat for two(even though I knew I really shouldn’t!) and boy did I! More like, I ate for everyone around me too. And I validated it. Well…I’m pregnant, I don’t feel good, other people expect me to, once the baby is born I’ll stop, and the list of excuses goes on! I gained a whopping 60 lbs! My doctor even warned me to slow down the eating. I wasn’t even eating good foods! I bawled when my husband ate the last frozen pizza and demanded he go get me whatever I wanted from town(McDonald’s). I ate butter bread and macaroni and cheese like nobody’s business. It’s amazing my son didn’t come out at 15 lbs! So after he was born, did I stop? Nope! I did start exercising and just started to lose the weight a year after his birth when I found out…tada!…I was pregnant again! And so the cycle goes. I gained another 70 lbs. with my second, lost around 20 total since his birth over 3 years ago and am a tired, cranky, unfit woman! I did manage to get up and run a 5k with some friends last summer, but instead of keeping up with the running and eating better, I gave up, felt victorious that I actually RAN A 5k, and have been sitting around eating ever since. I’ve gained back all the weight I lost(around 15 lbs) plus some! I feel like I do well for a short period, just start to feel better, and then I give in to the cravings. Or my period comes so, “I have an excuse.” Well, I’m tired of all the excuses I’ve used! No more! A pint of Ben & Jerry’s will NOT make my period go away, will not change my body for the better, will not make me feel more rested! I know that God can help me with self-control if I just give this area of my life over to Him, but for some reason, as crummy and ugly as it makes me feel(hello crying every time I have to put something other than sweatpants and a hoodie on!) I just can’t bring myself to do it. So I’m hoping this study can open my eyes and help me to come closer to the Lord and respect this body He has given to me. To take care of it in the way He wants. I’m so excited for this opportunity.

  377. I’m 28 and a mom of 2 very energetic boys…2 & 4! I had a hard time getting pregnant the first time and ended up losing two babies. I finally decided to work on myself first and lost 25 pounds…then got pregnant with my oldest. After having him I quickly lost my baby weight but got pregnant with #2 when #1 was only 14 months old. After having him I have had the hardest time getting and KEEPING the weight off. I know what my problem foods are, but I have a hard time with moderation…it’s either all or nothing. I actually had already read through about 1/2 this book before I found out about this online study. I’m excited to get back on track and STAY healthy…no more back and forth. I am looking forward to doing this with other godly women. One thing I look forward to the most is the online community!

  378. This my year! I need this bible study RIGHT NOW. I am in the process of losing 180 lbs – I have 96 lbs off so far and I want to quit. But, I won’t. The Lord has awesome things in store for me and I want to crave something else besides sweets. Thank you for being there for this adventure of mine.

  379. Christina Piersall says:

I am a mother of 5, in my second marraige going on 7 years. I decided to join the Made to Crave Online Bible study to further connect with God. I belong to a bible study with my church and we meet once a week, and I just seem to be craving more feelings of wanting and finding more ways to be closer to God. I was looking for a bible study that was still able to fit in with my busy scheduale, just had a daily commitment.
I’m really looking forward to starting it.

  380. Made to Crave was one of the books when I purchased a nook and started reading it this summer. Im not really have a problem with food, maybe an addiction to sweets..lol but I loved how easy it was to read and I was still able to relate. Im always looking to strengthen my walk with the Lord. So Im excited about this study.

  381. penny baslee says:

I am a 46 yr old married mom of 3 kiddos. I have tried so many ways to lose weight, get healthy, and just feel better overall…I fail each time. The GOOD NEWS…..GOD loves me right where I am and I am perfect in HIS eyes. I want to take care of what HE has blessed me with and I know in my heart that this MTC online study will keep me focused and give me a community of accountability. I am so excited for what lies ahead for each and every one of us that will be participating. God Bless!

  382. Jennifer Mcnaughton says:

Hello my name is Jennifer and I am 29 years old I have a wonderful husband and 3 great kids. I am doing this study b/c I need to loose about 110 pounds to be at a healthy weight. I want to stop losing and then gaining over and over. I also found out this year that I have low thyroid which I am on medication for. So more than looking great in a dress which I do also want but more than that I want to be healthy. In the summer I want to go bike riding and not feel like I am going to pass out.

  383. Hi – I am excited because a group of 18 ladies and I just started another Weight Loss session for 12 weeks and I suggested to them at our first session this week that they should do the Made To Crave study. I was encouraged by one of our members who said that she was doing it.
Thank you for this easy way to study together.
    God bless all the ladies!

  384. Amanda Jable says:

Our MOPs leader told us about this study. We will be meeting throughout to encourage one another. I have always struggled with my weight so I am excited to participate. I really want to put God first everyday! Thanks for offering this study.:-D

  385. Lynn Priebe says:

After several years of yo-yo-ing with my weight, I’m ready to find the answer to the question of how to keep it off! Hoping that MTC will help me find that answer!

  386. Felicia Vaughn says:

I share the love of God with many. I have the Joy of the Lord inside me but on the outside it is obviously I am not happy with my look. I asked God to remove the extra pounds and for tighter abs..no reply -:). So it is for me a life or death. Bad food choices belongs to the beast. Healthy food choices belongs to the Lamb. An accountability partner is necessary. I have 30,000 accountablility partners and counting. WOW

  387. Made to Crave is exciting for me because it’s such a great opportunity to gain knowledge in an area that is killing us both emotionally and physically. I believe there is power in the study which will remind us of that which we already know is true and give us the push we need to move away from the lies that keep us floundering for a fix that will never be enough.

  388. ANDREA MOORE says:

I SIGNED UP TO TAKE THE COURSE BECAUSE A FRIEND ENCOURAGED ME. WHEN I WENT TO LOOK AT THE COURSE, I REALIZED HOW MUCH I NEEDED IT TO HELP ME FOCUS ON GOD AND HIS DIRECTION. I AM RECENTLY DIVORCED AND I AM TRYING TO NOT THINK ABOUT “CRAVING ” A MAN OR A RELATIONSHIP. I WANT TO CRAVE JESUS AND NOTHING ELSE.

  389. Melissa Kindall says:

I am from Kansas, I am 44 years old, just found out I am going to be a grandma. I have started seeing a biodentical Hormone Replacement Therapy specialist as I as tired ALL the time. Regular doctor just said it was just life. I am the heaviest I have ever been and hate it. I have tried dieting and exercising before but no success. I knew it was time to ask God to help me lose the weight along with diet and exercise. Looking forward to starting this bible study.

  390. I’m excited and nervous to start this study. I’m very hopeful that this will be a positive thing for me as I’ve spent years obsessing about body image and weight.

  391. Tinisha Schmidt says:

I signed up because I have a very unhealthy addiction to sugar. I’ work out 5-6 times a week, eat roughly 1400 calories a day and still can not shed off this weight. I also have be dx w/ pre diabetes and I know that it’s only going to be by the grace of God that deliverers me from this. I crave chocolate like non other I want that feeling I have for chocolate to be replace w/ a craving for JESUS

  392. I have struggles with eating issues for year. I don’t think I go through many days without worrying about my weight or food. I am looking forward to this study, so that I may finally find peace. I have often pushed God away from this struggle, and I am hoping I can finally let him help me recover.

  393. Im ready to grow closer to God & get rid of some weight & figure out WHY I continue to CRAVE & choose bad food. I just turned 50 & have become a stay home Nene (grandma)(I taught preschool for 25 yrs) , I want to set a good example to my 3 beautiful granddaughter (3yrs, 1 yrs & 9 days old). Im excited to get started….

  394. Stacey Brown says:

I signed up because it am hoping to grow closer to God and if I lose weight that’s a bonus. The premise behind this study makes more sense to me than anything else I’ve read out there . May God’s love flourish among all of these women and may the lessons we learn take root in our hearts and make lasting changes !

  395. Debbie Woosley says:

I have joined MTC because while I do have issues with my weight, I want to study God’s word with others. My goal for this year is more of Him and less of me. I find it helps me to understand better when I study with others. Can’t wait!

  396. Kimberly Watkins says:

I was invited to participate by a dear sister in Christ, who knows my heart is heavy, because I am currently doing online university, very very intense classes, and as I am 53 takes some time to “get it”, I work two jobs, I am a single Mom with three boys; 10, 12, and 17, and a daughter with Borderline Personality Disorder/Bipolar disorder who is 23, and recently moved in with me after her 2nd suicide attempt in 1 month,, prayers are coveted for that situation her name is Melissa. So, alll of that to say we serve a mighty God, and He gives me the strength, wisdom and courage to deal with this. I am starving for spiritual food, and need to be starving myself to lose some of the earthly food I stuff myself with to plug that hole. My sister in Christ encouraged me to do this study, and finally I will learn to grow closer to Him, and give Him all of my “stuff”. Can’t wait!!!! Kimberly

  397. I have had the book MTC for a year now. I saw Lysa at the Econference in 2012 she was awesome. I have been looking for an online bible study and can’t wait for this to start a new chapter in my journey with Christ.

  398. Peggy Davidson says:

I signed up for MTC because I need to get healthy for myself and my family. I also committed to completing four Bible studies this year so this is a win-win! So excited to replace a negative craving with an all-in craving for God!

  399. Claudine Perry says:

Should I have already been assigned to a group yet. Haven’t heard anything.

  400. Elizabeth says:

This is about the 150th try at a diet and at least the 25th time I have made the New Year’s resolution to LOSE WEIGHT. I know the only way I can remotely achieve this is with God’s help. It sounds like the author wrote this book just for me. I hope all of us who join the Bible study can experience some weight loss. Go Team Made to Crave.

  401. Gen Peterson Abrams says:

I have had a copy of the “Made to Crave” book for over a year now, and keep putting it down. Not because it is not wonderful, but I just have not been ready – why??? I am so looking forward to this study, I need it desperately and keep hearing, “Lord, help me in my unbelief!”
Lysa is amazing, I love her posts! Always hits me where I need it!!! ♥

  402. I am so excited about this study!!! I decided to do this study after finishing A Confident Heart (which is amazing), I read the description of the book and decided I needed this study more then anything. I have been struggling with weight and eating for about 19 years. At one time I weighed 100 pounds and I know I will never weigh that again but I need to be healthy not only in body but sprit and mind! I am not working at the moment and I figure this is time for me to work on me and what I need and learn to love myself again!!

  403. I signed up because I know God has been calling me to a closer walk with Him and I WANT a closer walk and a craving for Jesus. :)

  404. I’m looking forward to doing this study as I just moved to a new country and am leaving my dear small group ladies and thought an online study would be fun. I also have struggled with weight loss for many years, and I’m hoping that learning a biblical approach to bible study will be motivating.

  405. A coworker recommended I read the book. I thought it was great and it really spoke to me but life gets so busy and it kind of fell by the wayside. I signed up with this coworker hoping to really let it sink in this time and apply it to my life. We both are so excited for it to get started!

  406. Marjorie Claire Gholson says:

Read the book and was so inspired checked out website. Was totally excited to find out about book study. My “WE” includes Heavenly Father, His Son Jesus, the Holy Ghost and a group of like minded women. Thanks for all you do.

  407. I have struggled with my weight and with my relationship with Jesus for quite some time. I overly focus on food and not so much on Christ. Last year I particpated in a program that was a faith-based “diet”. Life became overwhelming for me and over time, I quit. It’s been on my mind and in my heart ever since to do something like this for myself.

Lately, I’ve truly been hating myself and how I’ve let go of me and my relationship with Jesus. Just yesterday at my Mom’s group, we were talking about new year’s resolutions and how God may need to be asked whether or not I should pursue certain resolutions. Resolutions are good but are they what God would want me to do?
I am going to pray about this and continue until January 19 when this journey will begin. I believe God has a plan for me to Crave him and stop focusing on food to fill me up.
A side note: our Mom’s leader mentioned a passage she had read on your webpage which is why I ended up there. The devotion for the day was about Crave and that’s what I first saw when the webpage opened up. It seemed like a sign from God, to me.
    Thank you!
    Molly

  408. Angela Nolen says:

I have struggled with weight issues all my life. I want to change my craving from food to God. I signed up for this study in hopes that it will help me shed the pounds and also grow closer to God.

  409. Joy Edwards says:

I signed up for the MTC study because I could really use the help and the accountability. I invited my daughter and coworkers to join me. Your 21-day challenge has given great insights and helped me really think about the choices I am making. I really want to make a difference and with God’s help, your resources, and the other 30,000+ participants I am “In It To Win It.”

  410. Valerie Nzokirishaka says:

Hello, I’ve struggled and lost with food for over 20 years and been overweight all that time. Three years I quit my job and sold almost all my belonging and moved to Burundi-Africa for mission work. It was a dream of mine for years. While there and not having all the bad choices of food I lost weight. Also, God in His amazingness gave me my husband too. Going back and forth there I lost about 45 lbs. not trying just living that life style. I have been going back and forth to serve and be with my husband as we are in the visa process. I find coming back here I FEEL SO LONELY, FOR GOD AND MY HUSBAND. I feel so so hungry all the time. I know it not food I am craving, but can’t seem to soothe this need. I currently got back and starting over completely, in fact i am staying with my sister and sleeping in her kitchen area. totally thankful for a place to stay and getting this time with her. I am looking for work to be able to continue to support my husband and family there with food and schooling. I WANT TO BE HEALTHY IN MY HEAD, THEN MY BODY WILL FOLLOW. what amazed me there in burundi is how a lot of this craving was gone, so i know it’s doable, but missing something while here. Thank you for letting me share. I could really use the blessing of receiving a book! either way God will provide, as always!!!!!

  411. Allison Lee says:

I am so impressed with the online bible studies that P31 has to offer. I am a new stay at home home with two little ones and find it sometimes hard to get out as it becomes such a huge project but with online I am able to get in the word with a structured study and I absolutely love it and I have invited friend who have invited friends and what an amazing way to enjoy conversations of reflection with others about the Chapters read! Praise God for this ministry!!!!

  412. I joined the Bible study because I want to share this with other women that may be going through the same struggles as I am. I need to crave God and not food or anything else. I will be out of the country when the study begins, but the beauty of technology is that I can even be involved while in China. I have been married to my husband, a pastor for 37 years. I have three grown children and four beautiful grandsons. I am looking forward to beginning soon!

  413. Hello! My name is Terra and I am a mother of 3, wife, and work full time as a manager. I joined MTC Bible Study because I am almost finished reading the book for the first time and fell in love with the message. This book has confirmed what the Lord has been speaking to me and I am excited about what is about to happen!! Food has ruled me for my entire life and I used to feel so helpless. I don’t feel that way any longer. I have a long way to go but I don’t have to rely on my strength but His!! I am going to finish the book this weekend and start all over again with the other 30K + women in order to conquer this battle one prayer at a time :)
Thank you so much Lysa for sharing what the Lord has placed on your heart. Our womens ministry hosted a book club last Spring in which we read Unglued. We talked about how awesome it is that you are so honest which makes EVERY women able to relate as we keep some things to ourselves so that people don’t think that something is “wrong” with us. We prayed for you and that you will continue to let God speak through you. If you didn’t share what God has put on your heart, these 30K women and myself wouldn’t be walking in victory and high expectation!!
    Thank you Proverbs 31 women!

  414. Donna Dellinger says:

I am so excited to start this online Bible study. I have never done an online Bible Study. I am a mother to two teens and wife of an amazing man. I am struggling with my weight and I found about this Bible Study from a website I use to track my calories and exercise. I hope this study will help me in my weightloss battle and I hope it will help me grow closer to my Lord and Savior.

  415. Litza Lawrence says:

My reason for joining is because all my cool Christian friends are doing it. :)
What started out as a simple “look at what I am doing” post on facebook by one of my friends has blossomed into about a dozen great ladies joining in. The fact that my physical health may be improved by working on my spiritual health sounds like a pretty awesome side effect.

  416. I am so excited for this bible study. I have been asking God to help me with my weight loss, and he has been awesome thru it, but I still feel like there is more, or I am missing something. This bible study came at the right time. I have been stagnate on my weight loss and I am praying this will be a tool to free me from the spiritual chains that are hindering me from more greatness with God while I am on this journey.

  417. This is my second time doing MTC online study – I want a closer walk with God everyday! Not just in the tough times or the good times. I want to learn to turn to God first and Crave his word in my daily life. If I learn discipline and healthy eating habits along the way that’s just an added bonus. :)

  418. utahna harris says:

Hi, my daughter and I will be doing this study together, I am in Hawaii and she is in Colorado. We both have the same taste for sugar, salt and junk food in general. We are praying for a closer relationship with the Lord and each other, all the while learning to crave him above all:)

  419. I am 51 yrs old and a mother of 3 and grandmother of 3. I gave my life to the Lord 33 yrs ago, my husband (fiance at the time) introduced me, as I was raised catholic. However, I didn’t fully understand nor fully dedicated myself to Him until 4 yrs later when my husband (of 3 years) and I seperated and I was left with 2 babies to raise on my own. I new I needed help and I new I needed the Lords help.
(I do have a much larger testimony, but you did state to keep it brief :))
Although I wanted a divorce, I new in my heart that is not what God wanted for me, so I endured for another year alone. Then my husband dedicated himself to God, we reconciled and now we’ve been married for 31 years and pioneering our 2nd church (my adult kids and there families with us).
The business of pioneering can take me away from fully devoting to a full on study.
Although we both work full time jobs, my husband being the Sr Pastor does have to study and fully devotes all the time he can in doing so. I, on the other hand, don’t always get the opportunity. On top of my full time job, I also take care of the admin tasks of our church.
My heart has been yearning for study time, not just prayer and reading but real study and digging deep for more. The MTC title captured my attention, as that is what I am doing….craving. Craving God’s word and a deeper relationship in knowing more of Him than ever before.
I am so ready for another journey, another chapter of my life, a deeper level. I am so craving and ready for more that I decided to sign up and discipline myself to satisfy my craving :)

  420. Abby Vostad says:

I signed up because food has always been a struggle of mine and I anticipate it will always be. I trust in God’s promises and wholeheartedly believe I don’t have to fight this alone!!

  421. Faye Craft says:

I’m looking forward to this Bible Study ,I have lost 125 lbs. since 2009. Some days the struggle gets so hard that I just want to quit. My prayer is that I can finally let go of my hold on food and give it to God.

  422. Kathy Schaeffer says:

I signed up because I know I am a compulsive eater. God has delivered me from many of my other compulsions and addictions, but food is the the one giant that needs to be slaughtered in my life. I purchased the book last summer, and after reading the introduction, I so relate. I need help identifying the emotions/situations that drive my food cravings so I can finally surrender all to Christ. I also enjoy online bible study because I can meet new friends who understand. It’s nice to encourage and be encouraged, and it also helps me occupy my time with more excellent things.

  423. Pam Herndon says:

The Made to Cravet title got my attention immediately since I want to turn my focus from things of the world to a deeper relationship with God. I crave the wrong things; food, attention, a husband and the list goes on. I need something to help me focus on God. I have been single for 12 years. Most of that time has been miserable in my singleness. It is time to change the way I see my life, all of it!

  424. I am wanting to do this journey with someone and I could never line it up with anyone. Then this came along! Then God opened a door for a small group at my church. I will be participating in that one as well. I am so excited about this adventure as I work to take care of myself physically and SPIRITUALLY AND MENTALLY! I have heard awesome things about the study! Can’t wait so see how the online study goes!

  425. My name is Mandy and I am from Ontario, Canada! I am doing made to crave because a) first of all I am in serious need of a redirection of cravings…..less chocolate and definitely more God. B) I love being a part of the OBS community! And c) because Lysa TerKeurst is fabulous and one of my absolute favorite authors!!!!
    Xo

  426. Tina Dilts says:

This is my 3rd OBS and probably the one that I need the most. I have struggled with my weight for all of my adult life, and often find myself eating even when I’m not hungry. I need to lose weight for my physical health but even more importantly, I need to gain focus on God and give my internal cravings over to Him for my spiritual health. I’m praying that this study will help me get healthier in all aspects!

  427. Karen Cook says:

I have struggled my entire life with my weight. I now have 2 daughters and can see the effects it is having on them to see me struggle so much. I want to set a good example for them and want to show them what completely surrendering to God can do for them. Thank you so much for this opportunity!

  428. I’m starting a new diet, again. I want to be involved in a Bible study to give me God’s word to strengthen me.

  429. Beverly Otto says:

I’m a mom of 4 – 2 boys & 2 girls. The girls are only 9 & 11 but already I see the trend in them and their friends to put their worth in their appearance and talents vs. their love for the Lord. I’ve had Made To Crave for a while and it still sits on my shelf… good intentions but no action plan. Now this is the plan I’m hoping will get me on track to address my own craving for God, and how to pass it on to my daughters; and model it for my boys when they search for God-loving women!! Thank you for this opportunity for accountability! God bless you!

  430. crystal tobiasen says:

Hello! My name is crystal tobiasen. Although I’ve always believed in God, I’m fairly new in my Christian walk.last year I did a bible study at my church but this time they decided to do a couples study instead. I am married but my husband and I are going to school so there isnt a day in which we are both available to join which I’m really bummed about because I want to be part of a bible study because I need jesus in my life. The reason I really want to do this study is because I’ve had a problem with turning to food for every reason and have gained a lot of weight in the process! When I was sad is treat myself to I’ve cream. When I was happy it’d be pizza. And pretty much any other occasion it’d be cupcakes or frappuccinos or any other quick grab treat. I’ve had a problem reaching for food for fulfillment when I should be seeking God. I was supposed to start the daniels fast on January 1st. On the 3rd day I gave up and had pizza and the next day I had tacos and on the 3rd day I got food poisoning. I took it as a sign from God telling me that consuming food the way I do is not going to make me feel good but instead his word will. I need this bible study and the amazing women to help me stay on track. I’m really looking forward to what God had in store for me through this study.

  431. Sharon Verigan says:

I am so excited to do this online. I have battled food, obesity and the desire to just do whatever for at least 17 years. I am excited that going through this online bible study and also leading a MTC group at my church is going to give me tools that are amazing….so excited I have told everyone to do the study….one of my friends Lisa Hamilton inCalifornia signed up….so excited!

  432. I had lost about 30 pounds last year. I have since put some back on. I really need to loose some more and I thought with God and others sisters in faith encouraging me as we all share a lot of the same struggles I would sign up. I am REALLY looking forward to beginning this study.

  433. 11 months ago at the age of 32, I heard the words that people dread, “you have cancer.” Since then, I’ve been told time and time again of the importance of healthy eating and physical exercise. But as life altering as those words are, it is still challenging to work through years of bad habits and poor thinking. I want to do the MTC study because I need to refocus and realize that my deepest need is for God and when I have that relationship right, I can then face the battle of making good choices for my health.

  434. I signed up because I need to make the next half century (yes, I turn fifty soon enough) much healthier than the first half century. I am ready to glorify my Creator in making healthy food choices, caring for His creation.

  435. Stephanie says:

I’m ready for a life change. I want to crave the Lord more than anything, and I believe once that balance is in order, everything else will fall into place. Looking forward to the study!

  436. The reason why i joined is because i had major depression and major anxiety , but jesus healed me .i need to take care of my body to be able to serve the lord. i don’t have a friends . i mean i know a lot of people but only like regular one who you just visit with your family. so i stay home alone until my kids come home from school at 3.i have no one to encourage me .i wanted to be in this group because i want to be with people who have the same issues like over eating and needs to lose weight.i want you guys to encourage me so i feel like i have friends.

  437. Keith Guider says:

I’m 67 & have struggled w/my weight since I was in my mid 30′s. Due to some health issues last yr. I lost almost everything I needed to. Maintained this good weight for 1.5 yrs, thought I’d finally gotten off that battlefield! But I now find myself gaining weight, & struggling to keep from gaining more & to loose what I’ve gained. This Bible study sounded like what I needed! Thanks! God Bless!!

  438. Because I have struggled with this all my life. I want change. I want to be healthy spiritually and physically. At 48 I am blessed to have 5 children, aged from 4 to 18. I want to be my best for them and all God has called me to do.

  439. All I have to say is AWESOME CARTWHEELS!!! No seriously, the reason I signed up is fairly simple. First, I have grown so much from all of the Proverbs 31 Online Bible Studies in which I have participated. Second, I would like to continue working on replacing any unhealthy dependencies (on food, or anything else) with FULL dependency on our Heavenly Father. Thank you ladies! Looking forward to a great study! :-)

  440. I’ve yo yo’d dieted most of my life. Food has had control of me for far too long. I realize that I am an emotional eater and I can’t do this by myself. Knowing that others are doing it with me helps. Expecting God to change and transform my life during this study is awesome. I am expecting a lot from God and I know He can handle it and me.

  441. Tabitha Morrow says:

Hi y’all! Yes, I’m from the south! I am a princess ( my father is King of Kings!) pastor’s wife ,mom of three, and a called by The Lord teacher! I have struggled with weight issues all my life. From that first grade school picture when someone called me chubby , to being a cheerleader in high school and overcoming an eating disorder, to looking at myself at our last beach vacation and just being disgusted with the way I feel and look. I must confess I read the book when it first came out. I loved it! I love Lysa! I had the privilege of hearing her speak a few years ago and the truths she allows God to speak through her have changed me. Why am I doing this bible study then?? I’m at my highest weight since giving birth to my children. I realize that I am getting older and I want to look and feel my best for myself and those around me. I want to encourage my kids to be healthy, others at our church, and te kids I teach. Not only that, I want I crave God more than anything!! I’m ready to do this, I’m ready to lay aside those weights, those unhealthy desires and start living like an overcomer!! I am so looking forward to having 30,000 girlfriends in God to do this with and hold me accountable!!! Thanks Melissa, for your faithfulness to The Lord! Let’s do this!!!

  442. Robin Nycole says:

I have struggled with my weight since having children. I go up and I go down. I have felt discouraged, tired, and unhealthy. I tried several diets that were not successful and then found out my thyroid was not functioning properly. Since getting help with it I have only halfheartedly attempted a weight loss with little success. I gave it to God and prayed for a solution to my “sin”. I found Made to Crave and decided it was time to take action. I look forward to the study and a healthier lifestyle.

  443. Hi I’m a mother of a 5 and 3 year old and looking to deepen my relationship with God while loosing weight at the same time! Focus on Christ while improving myself.

  444. I’ve always wanted to join and online Bible study. I already had “made to crave” so this was easy to sign up. In the past year I have lost over 130 lbs. I take it one day/one bite at a time and would love to grow closer to God in this study.

  445. brooke smith says:

After reading the first few chapters I couldn’t sleep. What an eye opener! So at 4 in the morning I looked up proverbs 31 and found the Bible study and signed up right away! I have had the book for months and just opened it. To have the bible study just shows God and his timing for me! I have a 100lbs to lose. But most importantly Im desperate for a deeper relationship with God! May I achieve both!!

  446. Hi, my name is Sarah. I am 31 years old and have a 1 and a 3 year old and a wonderful husband. I am not hugely overweight, but I have a lifetime addiction to sweets that I need to gain control over. But mainly I am excited to get closer to my Lord. This is a little hard to admit, but I tend to get very excited and on fire for the Lord when I spend time with other on fire Christians, but in my day to day life, the fire dies away. I don’t want to be like that anymore, I want to learn how to have my own fire. I’m hoping this study will help me. Thank you!

  447. I signed up because I really enjoy the encouragement mails I have received from P31, I have heard great things about this book (but have not read it yet, did get my Kindle copy so I am ready), and the Online Bible Study option is really interesting for me living in France. I know God has called me to be healthy. I feel like He and I have been working on the hard stuff for some time now — healing, my heart, my soul, forgiveness, finding a good spiritual community, and giving me a mission/purpose — but the big elephant in my room is still learning to take care of my physical self. He told me to hold off on that for a while (because it was such a “this is all I want/ME”– type of goal), but now I am being prompted that I am ready to start (again), differently, together, keeping the focus on building our relationship and trust in the process.

  448. It has taken me two full years to process my cancer, the birth of my third child, postpartum anxiety and the transition to becoming a stay at home mom after 18 years of teaching. Whew! But now that those things are behind me, I have space in my life! Space to be grateful, space to feel blessed, space to deepen my relationship with God. So here I am!

PS: I have some love handles that need some attention as well. Lol

  449. So excited for this! I’m hoping to learn how to balance a Godly life with a healthy love for food :-)

  450. Belinda Mills says:

I signed up for this because I started reading the book and I fell in love with the concepts. I was about halfway through when I came upon your study. I knew this was the Lord. I have struggled with my weight all my life. Since giving my heart to the Lord 11 years ago I have changed (through His power) in many ways. This one area of my life has never been given to Him completely. I change for a little while and then change back….which bugs me!! Last July I had pneumonia and the flu back to back. I was sick for 6 weeks straight and I was totally miserable. I am a person who HATES taking medicine of any kind. God used that 6 weeks to get my attention. He said to me, “Belinda, if you hate taking medicine this badly then why do you continue to gain weight knowing that it is leading you to destroy your body….the body I gave you. If you don’t wake up you will be on multiple medications for the rest of your life.” I knew this was God and I knew He was right. I began to search for a way that would work for me. No fad or crazy diet plan just something good and solid. God led me to that as well. When you listen He leads….I love that about Him! So far I have lost 40 pounds but I have a long way to go…..I know that if I choose to crave the Lord He will lead me all the way to where I need to be!

  451. Kalene Sherffius says:

It seems like my weight has always been an issue for me – I became the yo-yo dieter – take it off – put it back on! In 2005 I had lap band surgery and was successful in losing 100 lbs and keeping it off. In 2012 I was diagnosed with breast cancer & had many, many surgeries. During recuperation after each surgery I would put a few pounds back on but would be able to lose it after I was released back to my normal schedule. In 2013 I experienced some acid reflux problems that were attributed to my band being too tight & had to have it completely deflated. I promised myself I would not put the weight back on but after my last surgery in late Oct. and the holidays, I have managed to put on about 20 lbs. I had thought about having my band inflated again & that’s when I saw the Made to Crave study and I just knew this is what I need. I have always had faith in God but since retiring in 2009,movin, joining a new church and becoming a Stephen Minister, I have thirsted for a deeper relationship with God and coming to terms with my craving of food. I am looking forward to this study with all my heart.

  452. Hi, I signed up for this bible study because I need to do something different. I am not able to lose and keep the weight off. I am intrigued by the book title, Made to Crave. Craving the Lord instead of food is the best way to maintain my health and to continue to live my life for Jesus and be healthy and able to do His will.

  453. Nicole Graves says:

I did not know the authors story until I watch you three ladies, I was so shocked and excited that I have the same story. Went to the doctor three weeks ago because I had been feeling tired all the time did blood work thought I would get a magic pill but I got the same thing, the “O” word and told I had to make healthy life changes. Like everything else in my life I have done well it is always with Gods help so here we go! This study came at the best time, thank you!

  454. In 5 years and after 3 babies, I have been unable to lose weight. I also need to refocus on God an stop just going through the motions. I’m looking forward to this study!

  455. Love the cartwheels! I signed up for the study because I saw Lysa’s videos that go with a small group study. I immediately had to go out and buy the book and am very excited about it. I don’t have a lot of weight to lose, but I have a lot of mental “weight” regarding food to lose. I’m constantly thinking about my next meal, a sweet treat, etc. I want to replace those thoughts consistently with God’s Word.

  456. I’m at the end of my rope with weight loss. Since I started the book and relied on God’s strength, I have found strength & victory! To God be the glory!!

  457. I am excited about the MTC study! I am a stay at home mother of 3 and really want to get my relationship with God as close and intimate as possible. I have really enjoyed the last few studies I have done with P31. My goals this year and with this study are to get healthier and grow in my relationship with God.

  458. Chris McDonald says:

Hi! I am 58 years old. Last year I had cancer and now I am trying desperately to loose some of the weight I put on from the steroids they gave me- as well as additional weight I put on when I went off my migraine meds. I hate that sweets are almost to me like they must be to an addict. This is such a problem and I know I have to give it over to the Lord. I would love to offer this to a woman who is currently struggling with her ovarian cancer. This has been ongoing for 2 years now. I have not purchased my book yet, I just know the Lord will provide a way for me to receive it. I love your daily emails and they are so encouraging to me! May the Lord continue to bless your ministry!

  459. Dawn Sauder says:

I’ve looked at, and walked past, “Made to Crave” in the bookstores more than one time. I have been exercising regularly, but I can never seem to make a permanent change in the food that I am choosing to put into my body. I know that the decisions I am making now are impacting me and my health, but are also, most likely, shaping the choices that my daughter’s will make for themselves in the future. I want to be off of this roller coaster once and for all. The idea of an online bible study is intriguing to me and I feel like it will fit perfectly in my lifestyle right now. I need to be more intentional about spending time in the Word.

  460. I have a wonderful group of “Good Morning Girls” that we share our daily bible readings together and our ups and downs. One of them challenged us all to do this bible study together and I have never been more excited. It is awesome to share our thoughts and readings every day and I am just so looking forward to see where God leads us all in this next chapter of our lives….and so excited that I have 30,000 people to share this chapter with!

  461. Mashel Rathmell says:

I am beyond excited to start this study. I have picked up the book and put it down a few times.. each time because it spoke directly to my heart and I would reflect too long on the lesson. Looking forward to this so much.

  462. Connie Hemric says:

I signed up to assist my growth in growing closer to Christ! What better way!!!

  463. Donna Pilotte says:

I’m doing this because my friend asked me to. I homeschool three children, volunteer for our co-op, volunteer for the christian theater group my children are in and I volunteer at our church. I dont do anything just for me. So here I go another thing to do. I am praying that eventually I can believe I am doing this for me and not just for my friend.

  464. I am hoping to gain some great insight on being healthy & growing in my relationship with God. I have struggled with my weight all my life, I diet and exercise and seem to get no where but at times more depressed or discouraged. I want new insight and really just want to put God first. I want to be a happier more positive person and a reflection of God so others will want to know him more also. I wanting to gain some new habits that positively affect me and those around me.

  465. Britiney Slaughter says:

I’m excited for this, my first online study. And to get my cravings under control and focus on GOD and not on FOOD!!! My word for this year is ME! and while that sounds a little selfish and self-centered, I’m going to focus on making myself the best and healthiest I can be. I know this study will be just the thing to get me going. Thanks for a chance to win!

  466. Casey Jackson says:

I just hit 30!!!! agh!!!! In my high school years, I was always really thin. I played sports and was very active. However, after college and two wonderful children (one boy and one girl), my body went through many changes. Changes that I must say I am not satisfied with. I have been on and up and down roller coaster since then with my weight. I do really well and lose weight. But then, I give into my temptations and go crazy!!! Before I know it, I am heavier than when I started the diet. It has been obvious that my cravings were not being satisfied by the only one who can satisfy them. I stumbled upon this book, and really enjoyed reading it. I then thought to myself, this would be an awesome bible study. I even mentioned it to a few friends. Next thing I knew, as I scrolled through Facebook, Proverbs 31 OBS was going to do MTC. This was truly God speaking to me! So now I am on board and ready to commit and focus my cravings on Him. I look forward to the support from you leaders and other women in the same boat as me. As stated in the video, God loves me too much to leave me in a place of feeling defeated. :) Isn’t that comforting?

  467. What a God send! I just picked up my copy to read this year and I found this! My mom and I have decided that in order for us to succeed at this we have to give it to God. We have proven time and time again that WE can’t do it on our own, but God tells us that with Him we can do ALL things! And we will do this! Prayers for everyone and this new adventure! We are more than conquerors!

  468. I want to crave God more and grow closer to Him.
Life is a journey and the challenges are so much easier to work through with accountability, scripture, and God.
I have lost a big amount of weight and want remaining pounds to come off while I am doing this study. It will be such an encouragement to be part of the Made to Crave study!

  469. Jeanie Kelley says:

My name is Jeanie Kelley and I am from St. Louis Missouri and I have been married for 18 years now to the same loving man Warren Kelley. We have one son Daniel Kelley who is in the 8th grade. He is 13 years old. I love Proverbs 31 and I love these studies and the reason why I am doing it is to get away from the snacking and get closer to God. I want to crave God more than food or even shopping. I need to begin doing this and this study will do that for me. Also I am a volunteer in the prayer team and I clean homes for people right now. Love to do what I do, but would love to be around a lot longer for my son and husband. Looking forward to this study. I am feeling honored and humbled to be involved in such a wonderful group. Thanks so much.

  470. I’m so looking forward to this! This book has been on my want to read list for a while.

  471. I have very little self control when it comes to food or sitting down to study God’s Word. This Bible Study popped up in my inbox and I felt like it was God laying out the path very clearly in front of me! Thank you so much for putting this together!

  472. Michelle Mills says:

My goal is to find the commitment for at least a week.

  473. I purchased the MTC book when it first came out, but, it’s still laying in the same spot, unopened on my dresser. I am excited to finally read this book doing a Bible study!

  474. Charla Turner says:

I have struggled with New Year’s Resolutions in the past and wanted something different this year. Something Christ centered that would help me in several aspects of my life. Growing closer to God, being more in His word and losing weight! I am very excited about this Journey you at Proverbs 31 ministries has provided! Happy New Year, Happy New You!

  475. Angela Modisett says:

I am a 42 year old mother of a 6 year old boy and 8 year old girl. I have struggled with weight loss since my second child who just turned 6 and I am just about willing to give up! I an not hugely overweight, just about 10 according to the doctor, but I would love to lose about 15-20 to get back to where I once was. I’ve tried all the latest fad diets with exercise and nothing seems to keep it off. I, however, have not tried doing it by putting God first and now I realize that is the only way to do it! I am very excited to read Made to Crave and participate in this online study! I think this may finally be the answer to my prayers to my weight loss struggle. It’s only possible with God, not the latest fad!!

  476. I was praying for a bible study to be apart of. This popped up in my FB news feed and it spoke to me.

  477. I signed up for the M2C OBS because I am ready to make a change. Seven years ago, my life began a downward spiral. I could give you a long list of things that contributed to this (death of mother and brother, health problems, high-stress job, addiction to narcotic pain medication), but the underlying factor was really a lack of faith. As a result of an intensive rehab program, I am now completely off all pain medication, and I have developed a much deeper faith and closer relationship with God. I gained weight initially because of the steroids that were used to treat my medical condition. The more weight I gained, the worse I felt about myself, and the more I ate to console myself. Now I am 80 pounds overweight. I don’t binge eat any more, but I have trouble sticking to a diet program. I used to think my weight problem was a lack of self-discipline, but now I feel differently. I am looking forward to putting M2C into practice.

  478. I definitely crave things I shouldn’t. Whether it is food, soda, TV or veg time on the couch, I know I’m just trying to avoid being uncomfortable with my emotions, as well as, my physical body. I so long to run to God first instead of things I know I was not made to crave.

  479. Michelee McGeath says:

So excited to see God through this study. What an impact it is going to make…wow….30,000 people have signed up. That’s AMAZING! I have lost the same 50 pounds 3 times. Geez—that’s almost an entire person. I find when I am in a close relationship with my Savior, Jesus Christ, he allows great things to happen. I need His divine help to win the battle for good. So blessed you are hosting this study. Looking forward to it!

  480. Hey guys, my name is Moe and I’m joining in from Nigeria. I currently struggle A LOT with my weight and I’m so scared of falling into an eating disorder. I currently don’t have MTC but I know just by being in this community I’ll get some tools to help me through.

  481. Keri Bass says:

I am trying something new this year, an online bible study. I tried to read the whole bible last year and made it to October before I lost my resolve. I thought having an online community would help me with my desire to be closer to who God wants me to be.

  482. HI All, I am Tracy from Indiana and I’m a fan of all things Proverbs 31! I bought Lysa’s book about a year ago and started to read it but got distracted. But this fall, after so many years of yo-yo dieting, I decided I am ready to MAKE A CHANGE. In November I went back to Weight Watchers, started exercising and began rereading a few pages of Made to Crave each day. This time around, I am finding the book so much more meaningful. Lysa’s is such an honest writer. I feel like I am really ready to change my ways for good now but also know it takes a day to day commitment. I’ve lost about 6 lbs but have a good 15 more to go and am so glad to join this bible study as I know it will keep me on track. Can’t wait to share with many of you! PS-I’m also a writer and in Compel and love it too!

  483. Simone Smith says:

I joined this bible study group, because I wanted to develop a more intimate relationship with heavenly Father. He is doing something in my life that I can’t seem to figure out. My church has reorganized the youth ministry and I am now a worker in that ministry, and this is something that I would have never done last year, but now I can truly say that I have willing spirit, and I say YES LORD use me… so I know this bible study will teach me how to commit more of my time the way I really want to. I’m a wife and mother of four, so I’m very busy, but I don’t want to be too busy for HIM. Thank you so much for this opportunity and I look forward to working and learning with all 30k plus women who are all on one accord. TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY!!!

  484. can the journal and the devotional be ordered anytime? I cant do anything right now but I would like to later.

  485. Before children I ate whatever I wanted, whenever and never gained and inch or lost any energy. After our 3 blessings and 4 years later I still have been eating whatever whenever. I am steadily gaining weight and complaining about the way I look and feel. I am ready to surrender this crazy food obsession to my Creator an gain his wisdom and strength on what I am Made to Crave. Thanks for offering this online study!

  486. Michelle L. says:

The reasons I joined this study is 1 need to Have a Bible study to draw closer to God. 2 to Have The Body my God wants me to Have and 3 to crave God more than food. A little about me I am 41 yrs old 283lbs carried mostly in The bodBody area. Looking to change my habits.

  487. Linda Ketchie says:

Like Lysa I know what to do to lose weight. In fact, I’ve done it over and over again. Most recently, over the summer, I lost 20 lbs through strict diet and exercise. However it’s the same story for me each year. I work as a DCE at a church and around October it starts to get so busy that sometimes I’ll grab a little fast food. And, of course, there’s the candy around Halloween, and then Thanksgiving and then before and after Christmas. We have so many activities at church that sometimes I’m feeling stressed and that candy bar just hits the spot. Once I eat one, I can think of nothing else but to have another. Then come the fast food binges and all the goodies that go along with the holidays. By January 1st, I am bloated, retaining water, tired and sick of myself. I feel so ashamed that instead of turning to God with my stress, I turn to food for comfort. It just makes me feel so good at that time. I’m so tired of this cycle. I’ve got to find my want to, and I’ve got to learn to turn to God for ALL my needs. That’s what I’m hoping this study will help me do. I’m tired of being ashamed of not only my eating habits but mostly for loving food more than God.

  488. I have always been small until 2010…then I started gaining weight. The more weight I gained the more depressed I became, so the more I ate! I was so embarrassed of the way I looked I didn’t wear a bathing suit, go out in public a lot, or have any pictures taken of me. In Nov 2012, I decided to try to lose weight AGAIN but I decided to just keep it to myself. I tried to change one bad habit every week or two. As of today, I have lost 30 pounds….I need to lose 10 more pounds to be in the heathly range for my height. I know I am an emotional eater so I signed up for this bible study to learn to rely on Jesus instead of food. I also want to remain heathly for my precious seven year old son!!

  489. Andrea Rethman says:

I have been looking for a way to grow my relationship with God. When I was looking at your site I saw that you had an on line bible study. I signed up without looking into the topic. Once I received my confirmation e-mail I knew right away that it was God who lead me to you. You see I have always had a weight issue and have dieted, exercised, you name it I’ve done it. My daughter left for Africa 11months ago and asked me to go back to WW. She is worried something will happen to me while she is living there. I knew going back would help but I would need more. I decided that the only way to make it work this time I would have to do it through The Lord. I have been praying and leaning on God but have begun to struggle with the Holidays. I am down 50 pounds and feel better than ever but need to lose a lot more. I begged God to help me so I wouldn’t give up. Low and behold he lead me to this OBS. I am going to visit my daughter in Africa this July, she has no idea I have lost anything. Praise God he answered both our prayers.

  490. Ruth Poonan says:

Last year was a horrific year for me. My husband who received double lungs in 2012 got so sick with sepsis that he had to have both his legs and fingers amputated at various points to save his life. It was a pure miracle that he is alive today. Due to God’s unconditional love for us we were able to get through it. I am doing this study so that I can get even more closer to God, because He deserves our unconditional love.

  491. This is my first time joining an online Bible study. I joined because 2013 was a challenging year for me in my marriage, with my kids and my health. I want to be happy and healthy in 2014.

  492. Krystal .Z. says:

I just want to put God first in everything.
I’ve just had my fourth child (he’s nearly 8mths old) and I seem to be relying on my own strength for doing everything. I’m tired of putting him last when he should be the constant in every area of my life. To be honest I’m fat, and I need him to be what I crave instead of the junk that I binge on, instead of the excuses of ‘I only just had a baby, I’m allowed to be a bit over weight’ and all the other ones that go with that.
I need to get healthy, I want to get healthier mindsets and with that comes the victory.

  493. Food has been a real struggle for me for several years. I’m not big. I have about 20 lbs I’d like to lose, but I lose the same 15 lbs over almost every year. I want this to be the end of my focus on filling myself, and all about becoming the person God wants me to be.

  494. I bought the book a few years ago, started reading it, and got distracted. I’ve been wanting to do an OBS for a while, and when I saw this I knew it’s what I needed. I know I need to crave God, more than anything else. When I shared on fb that I was doing this OBS, my sister, 1600 miles away ordered the book and signed up to do it to. She’s never done a bible study, so I am doubly excited.

  495. God has been convicting me for several years to get my priorities in order. As I draw closer to him, I see SOME junk fall away, but I just cling tighter to other garbage. Food is an area in my life that I can’t WAIT to see come under his authority. Hoping that 30,000 women working toward the same goal will be enough to keep me motivated toward a positive result. Made to Crave has been a great help in my life already, and I believe that 2014 is the year that more of my choices will bring God glory!

  496. Marilyn E. Svarczkopf says:

My name is Marilyn and I am 61 years old and haven’t yet accomplished getting my weight down and kept it there. I have lost and gained and lost and gained. I am part of a private on-line weight-loss group and one of the girls was talking about doing this Bible study. I read the information and realized that this was a book I read years ago and lent it to someone else. I obviously didn’t carry out what I read. I have recently come to the realization that the only way I can do this for good is by turning this part of my life over to God. This has helped me to this point and I am doing everything I can think of to grow closer to God. I love knowing how much He loves me and that He wants to take control of this part of my life, if I just communicate with him often and live as close to Him as I can. So I got my book back and signed up for this Bible study, believing that God will help me and I will get to the goal I have longed for so long and that I will stay there but mostly that I will have a relationship with Him better than I have ever had in my life!!! Thank you so much for this opportunity!!

  497. LAURA ROGNE says:

Excited about starting this study. I am 65, retired. I live in the mountains of North GA. Throughout the years I have lost weight and gained again. I know what to eat, not to eat, etc.
Have learned a great deal about nutrition and proper eating. When I stick to any of these diets, eating programs, etc. I find they all work. My downfall is the consistency and long time commitment. I have no doubt that I am a emotional/stress eater. There will always be stress in my life, that’s just life. I do believe that craving the Lord, going to him when stressed instead of food is the only way to be successful in my journey of weight loss. Bible study has been a big part of my life the last 20 years. God has touched my life in so many ways. He has led me through stressful/difficult circumstances. I believe the Lord has many blessings and work designed for my life. Getting my stressful eating issue under control will be a big step in preparing myself for my ongoing journey. I feel blessed God has given me this opportunity to grow closer to him.

  498. Im participating in the MTC OBS because I love OBS. This is my third! I wasn’t going to do this one at first because I do not need to lose weight or depend on food for security. God pressed on my heart however, that I NEED this. There are other things that I crave more than Jesus and I Want to crave Jesus more.

  499. Andrea Runyon says:

I signed up because after having already done this study once at church, I am again wandering from my First Love :( I am hoping this study will energize and refocus me on the ONLY ONE WHO MATTERS- the Lord

  500. Suzanne Weeks says:

I signed up for MTC because I need to release my dependency on food for comfort and learn to give it up to God.

  501. barbara goodison says:

God has challenged me to move far outside my comfort zone this year…and one thing in my comfort zone is food. I have passed this on to my beautiful teenage daughter, who is bound up in a destructive world of junk food and feeling worthless. I know God can help us and at the same time repair our relationship.

  502. Theresa Love says:

I am a 59 yr. old mom of 5 and grandmother of 8 +1 on the way. I am 4′ 10″ and weigh 183 lbs. I have struggled with my weight for the past 19 yrs, after I had my 5th son. I also have fibromyalgia which slows down my exercise capabilities. I am tired of being in a vicious circle of losing 20 lbs and gaining 25 lbs. I have done several “diet” programs and tried to exercise. I saw Proverbs 31 plan on my facebook page and decided to give it a try. I want to be healthy for myself and my family and in this plan drawing closer to God is a huge bonus to weight loss and health. I am very excited for my package to arrive and to get started.

  503. Brittney Murray says:

I am a 27 year old mom that has 3 kids under 6 and I want to be around to see my grandchildren. I am about 80 overweight and fear diabetes type two will be near in my future if I don’t make a change. I also coach young 9-10 year old girls and what kind of example am I when I preach self control and discipline but show none myself. I am tired of being miserable in and out of my clothes and I am ready to live like a 27 year old should. I want to give it all to God! Looking forward to this bible study!

  504. I’ve really been looking for a community to deepen my faith with, and I came across this amazing Proverbs 31 community! My search for a church is ongoing, so with this online bible study, I don’t have to wait to find a church to start actively pursuing a deeper relationship with our Savior. I also have a hard time with food and my weight, so what better way to start out?! It’ll be my first study and I’m so excited to get started!!

  505. Christy Escandon says:

I’ve joined because I have been participating in a P31 Fitness group for about 6 months and it is wonderful! It has really helped my physicial, mental, emotional and spiritual health. The one facet (and most important one for weight loss) is the ability to improve my nutrition and eating habits. I haven’t been able to budge this aspect of my health. When I saw the MTC OBS, I thought that maybe this was the key I’d been missing! I’ve never done any sort of a bible study so I’m also looking forard to enhancing my spirituality through this endeavor.

  506. I will be 50 this year(can’t believe it) and need to learn to Crave God and his will instead of food… hope this study will help with that… I’ve done one OBS and did not do so well want to give it another chance.

  507. Beverly Holm says:

I have done the Made to Crave bible study with a small group in my home. I already have the DVD but would love the journal and devotional and the conference calls. I joined as I need a repeat of the study. I plan to retire from my current employment this spring/summer and not sure what kind of insurance I will have so need to reduce my weight which is only a small benefit of this study. It will be a tool God uses to help me know Him better and love Him more.

  508. Trudy Byus says:

I am so excited for this book study. Looking forward to craving the Lord instead of food!

  509. I joined the online Bible study to draw closer to God. I have found the busyness of life keeping me from doing this like I want to, and I think a daily lesson will help me in doing this. I have read the book before, but I don’t remember if I really completed all of it. :( I think now is the time, and it never hurts to lose a few pounds. I want to crave God like I did before I met my husband and married 9 years ago!! I have found the family life is challenging to balance, and I really need God’s help so I know what He wants me to do with my life. I can’t tell you the times I have told my Pastor that I need to get out of my “Martha syndrome”. I am looking forward to changing my busy days of exhausting work into fun days of listening to what God wants me to do!! Super excited to get started!

  510. As a mom to 8 of God’s blessings I have not always taken the best care of me. About a year and half ago I decided it was time to get healthy. Every time I hurt or didn’t think I could do it, I would turn to God, and every time a pound dropped I praised Him. I lost 70 lbs!
Recently, however, I have slipped back and started putting back on weight. I am struggling to get back to where I was, as are a few of my family members. When I saw this Bible study I knew this was exactly what I needed to get back on track.
I am so thrilled to get this opportunity to share this journey with all of you!

  511. Laura Lamkin says:

Hi.I am Laura Lamkin from Louisiana. I have lost some weight on my own but I still have more to go and I want to learn how to fill up with something other than food. I was away from God for a long time but now I am renewing my relationship with Him and I want to crave Him in my life. I want to increase spiritually while decreasing physically . I am very excited to begin this study.

  512. Elizabeth Stenger says:

Hi! My name is Elizabeth, better known as Ms. Beth to my pre-K students. That’s right, I am a preschool (or Christian Based Head Start Program) teacher. I first came to know the Lord about 9 year ago(Wow! it does not seem that long ago) when I was just beginning my Freshman year of high school. Since then, my walk with the Lord has been full of roller coasters. During my Sophomore year of high school, the Lord set His first challenge before me. A gunman entered my high school, my english class, and took 7 young girls hostage, including myself. While I knew the Lord was with me the entire time and I took advantage of the situation, helping to bring two of those women to the Lord, the words and actions of the gunman took up roots and strangled my body image. All the other effects of that day, I have dealt with, but I have struggled to maintain a positive body image to this day. I turn to food for comfort. I CRAVE chocolate(or any sugar, really) in times of hardship and happiness. Sugar has become my crutch and my comfort. I KNOW that the LORD is my salvation and needs to be comfort and I have been praying for a solution. I recently married the man of my dreams(since 3rd grade), who happens to be an officer in the Air Force. This year was our first move, my first time away from home and friends, and the first year of our marriage. With all the changes, I have been struggling with missing my family, friends, and home state, and have been surviving on chocolate. My mother actually told me about the online Made to Crave bible study…an answer to my prayers. I cannot wait to begin this new journey with all of you.
(I know this was meant to be brief…I am a bit long winded).

  513. I signed up for the study because I need it. I have struggled my entire life with my weight. Two years ago on December 24th, I decided to lose weight. I was morbidly obese and I could not even play with my grandchildren without getting out of breath. I have lost 70 pounds and I have 25 more to lose to get to my healthy weight. I need help….I have struggled this last year and I have not lost anymore. I know God can get me through this and I cannot wait to give Him all of the glory. I want to be able to play, run and dance with my grandchildren and my husband. I have to do this…I want not only to lose weight but to also see myself how God sees me. I want to help someone who is also struggling and hurting and to let them know that they can do this and for them to lift me up when I need encouragement. Thank you for letting me share and God bless each you!!

  514. I am so excited about this study!!! My first online study. Looking forward to be able to share and encourage others. I have gained over 100lbs since a knee injury in 2006. I have been unable to lose the weight on my own! But, I know with the support and encouragement of all these ladies we can all achieve our goals! But, most important we can grow closer to our God! Many. Blessing to each of you!

  515. I’m Gabby, I’m 20 years old and married to my wonderful husband Mark. I have a two and a half year old daughter and I am 6 months pregnant with another little girl. I joined this study because I want to get a control on my health. I have always had a problem with eating too much, and I never feel full. I love the idea of craving God instead of food! I am so excited to get started with this study! I have already read the introduction and had to hold myself back from going on. This is going to be an amazing journey! :) God Bless! :)

  516. Jaclyn Ink. says:

My walk with the Lord started about six years ago when I met my soon-to-be husband. We were both in a difficult season in our lives and we were blessed enough to start our walk together. Over the past years we have both grown so close to the Lord and eachother. Recently we entered a new season in our marriage that we are both terrified and excited about. When I first read about this OBS I thought it would be the perfect way for me to continue my personal growth with the Lord and do my part to make my marriage stronger than ever. I can’t wait until the 19th to get here! Thank you so much for doing this!

  517. mandi pierson says:

So excited to share this experience with others. I have seen the wonders that can happen when women support each other in love and prayer! Just completed another one of Lysa’s studies and loved it. Here is to new steps of faith resulting in new victories in 2014!!

  518. Debbie Smith says:

We all have “baggage” whether it’s extra pounds or emotional. I signed up to learn how to more completely leave my baggage with the Lord. I am the daughter of the king!

  519. I have struggled with my weight since childhood. I’m a busy teacher of 18 years, wife of 10 years, and mom of 3 children ages 8, 6, and almost 3. I went through breast cancer in 2013 and multiple surgeries/treatment, losing my own mom to breast cancer in September. I have the lovely BRCA gene, so that explains largely why I got breast cancer, but I also know I do not take care of my body as I should. I want to be around for my family and to glorify God in all areas of my life. Eating is a hard one…like telling an alcoholic they can have 1 beer. You can’t live without eating like you can in giving up many other addictions. People are always talking about big psychological/emotional reasons behind why they eat. My big reason is I just enjoy food, fun, fellowship…with too much emphasis on food. I want to crave Jesus and godliness. So excited to start this book with you. I’ve always been frustrated I can’t attend the weekly morning women’s studies here and there at church, or even the evening ones, because of our work & family schedules. But online…yes, I can do that!! Let’s get started!!

  520. Ashley black says:

I joined this study because I have been struggling with my weight since I had children. I am 30 years old with 2 special needs children. Recently I have been very down on what I have let my body become and the other day I saw this book, I looked past it but felt led to pick it up. I bought it. When I got home I saw the advertisement for this study on my Facebook page and thought “ok God, I get it, this is the answer” and I signed up! He basically spelled it out for me :)

  521. Linda Collins says:

Hi, I’m Linda Collins from Oregon, I’m 55 and I’ve ALWAYS struggled with my weight. I’m great at losing when I focus, but then I get off track with distractions. I’m not my highest weight ever but not my lowest healthy weight either.
God know when I will meet him, but in the meantime, I want to live an active and productive life for HIM. I’m officially an empty nester as of a couple years ago, but I need HIS clarity as to where to go in this season of my life.
Recently, I was on a visit to Disney World, and I had been sitting on a bench and had a man make some very demeaning comments to me. It was a struggle not to get in the flesh and say anything unGodly to him. I have NEVER been talked to like that before about my weight. I feel the enemy was using him to get directly to a place that has caused me alot of pain over the years. He said “looks like you have had a problem with your weight all of hour life”. i said “how did you know that you dont even know me, who are you to judge me? He bragged about just losing 40lbs with a smirk on his face. Then he said “I don’t want to discuss this with you anymore”. I guess I did get in the flesh a bit when I told him that he was a very rude, sick person and he she get physcoanalyzed. But i felt i had to stand up for all overwight people that may not be emotionally stable enough to hear these awful comments. Anyway, it is apparent to me through this experience God wants me to crave HIM. And with this focus on Him I have a much better of winning this battle.
    :-)

  522. So i’m 26 & married. I’ve struggled with weight my whole life– literally going between 30lbs lighter to being 30lbs heavier my entire life! The hard part is that i always feel extremely comfortable being heavier. I know it sounds insane, but the extra weight is a safety zone for me (hence why i never kept the weight off).

However it wasn’t until a recent miscarriage that i was forced to look at myself & be completely honest. My husband & I had gotten married & moved to the East Coast all within one year. I ended up dealing with depression, eating my emotions, & gaining a large amount of weight. It wasn’t until i was in the hospital due to extreme pain & bleeding that i found out i was pregnant & having a miscarriage.

The main emotion I felt was extreme guilt that i hadn’t even known i was pregnant! I had been too out of touch & disconnected with my body to realize what was even happening! I vowed to myself that i would get re-connected with God, with my body, & my soul so that something like this wouldn’t take me off guard again.

After much prayer i started understanding that my weight was spiritual & emotional. I know that if i don’t deal with it while I’m young, it would rule every aspect of my life, and effect my relationship with my husband more than it already has. God has constantly loved me & it’s time i love myself.

I figure this is a great place to start & i’m happy to be part of this study!

  523. Jessica E says:

I’m 22, married, and we have a toddler. I have been blessed with the ability and financial security to stay home with my son and raise him completely for now. Unfortunately we live on the 3rd floor of an apartment so this has been a ready excuse for not getting out and doing stuff. Toting a squirmy toddler anywhere is work but down three flights of stairs is even more. Add this in with the fact that many of my friends were younger than me and so went off to college in different cities while my husband and I went to local ones and settled down. I only have a handful of real friends anymore and needless to say they are not at the same point in their lives. With no friends to bring me out and the additional hassle of a toddler my life has changed pretty drastically from before and I have lost a lot of my athleticism and, naturally, gained more weight than I am comfortable with. I’m joining MTC because I’m tired of sitting around and being too tired or even too scared or sometimes too guilty (over being apart from my family) to get out and do something good for my health. And I don’t want to train my child(ren) in these habits. I want God to help me get past this and feel good about myself and spread those positive attributes to those around me. I’ve tried a little before to “make myself better” but until recently my b.m.i. and everything were still in the normal category. Now that I’ve crossed that line, even just a little, into being overweight I’ve decided I am not going to feel sorry for myself or accept things just simply the way they are. I’m ready and have begun to do something right with my health and so when I saw this Bible study I thought about how great it is that here is something I’m working on and here we make it personal, here we get God involved. I have never found a way to really truly add him in to this, and I think doing so will be one of the great secrets to success.

  524. I read Made to Crave a couple of years ago when it first came out and was very inspired. I love all of your books, Lysa. Unfortunately I still struggle with my weight and going to food instead of God for comfort. I’ve asked several of my friends who also struggle with food issues to join me on the OBS and a couple have already signed up. I looked forward to sharing this experience with them. FYI, this is my first OBS.

  525. Susan Stefanini says:

WoW!!! 30,000 women! When I first read that my heart melted and I nearly cried. Just look at what the Lord is doing!!! All inspired by Lysa’s journey of truth with the Lord through her own personal eating struggles. After a failed summer attempt, last fall I re-read MTC, along with the DVD series and Study Guide, and I am a life that is changed! After 50 years of eating addictions, disorders, dysfunctions … I am now on the side healing and I know in my heart and soul I’m never going back to the old life. The darkness has been exposed and the truth has literally set me free from the brokenness and bondage of habitual, addictive, compulsive eating. I’m looking forward to this OBS to establish a firm foundation and be rooted and grounded in His truths along with all of the principles shared in MTC.

  526. Paula Miller says:

I signed up because I’m sooooo ready to get my relationship with God where it needs to be, to get my body in a healthy place, and to find some peace. I’ve just been through one of the worst years of my life, and I just have to get into the place where God wants me to be so that the future will be better.

  527. Bridgette says:

I am a 7 year heart survivor and was 38 years old. I’ve lost 107 pounds and eat heart healthy. I crave Gods purpose for my life more than anything. I pray that The Lord moves me to the place he has called me to be. Sorry but I can not do a cartwheel but I’m leaping on the inside. Excited!

  528. Tara Dekkers says:

I am a mother of 4 and daycare “mom” to 12. I signed up for the online Bible Study because I had started to read the book and feel like I could benefit from it. My desire is to grow closer to God and control my desire to eat. Thank you and God bless

  529. i nrrf hrlpingb lose weight, connecting better with Jesus, and connecting with other women–plus this study is free so it seemed perfect for me!

  530. I signed up because I really want to begin my weight loss, but in order to do that I feel I need to strengthen my relationship with the Lord first. I think it will be a perfect combination and now being able to go on this journey with 30,000 other women is AMAZING!!!!!! I read about the M2C book a while back but just kept putting it off. About a year later I saw the M2C OBS and knew it was something I wanted to partake in. I’m ready to leave the baggage and start the life He has planned for me! I am OH SO EXCITED! Can’t wait.

  531. Irene Shaffer says:

I am looking forward to studying Made To Crave. I have done it before but every time I repeat it, I learn something new. I want to put Christ first in every way. I want to be an example for Christ. I always went to church but drinking, smoking, swearing were always the sins mentioned. I know now that now taking care of His body is also a sin.

  532. Toni McIntire says:

I have read the book Unglued and I had researched the book Crave. I had also read someplace that many times when we are in the refrigerator looking for what we are craving, what we are craving may not be food. And my daughter said she was going to do the study so I signed up to do it with her. And because I did I have another on-line friend that has signed up to do it. I pray that we can all find what we are craving thru this study.

  533. Carrie W. says:

I joined MTC because I just miss God. I am tired of going to food for depression, celebration, anxiety, etc. I want to go to the one who can actually fix and heal. I want to remember what it is like to be in love with God and to live my life for him again. I want to crave all of that yumminess and leave the yuckies behind….

  534. Jenny Tomann says:

I’m a mother of four boys ages 10 to 20 and life has been full and busy BUT I know God has a plan for me to get healthy/lose weight this year and I’m excited to see what God will do with me and the other thousands of women doing this study! We will be healthy, strengthened, blessed, favored and loved by our heavenly Father in 2014!
    Thank you Jesus!

  535. I’ve never done an online study before so I was very interested to try it. I am online all day so it should be a good format for me. I am also doing WW which is a great program but I knew I needed something to keeps focused spiritually along the way. Looking forward to the study!

  536. Deborah D says:

Spending the last 24 years of marriage and raising a family of 5, emotional eating became my way of life. I know there isn’t a diet or pill that will solve the focus on “poor me”. I know that if I can get my focus of me and my problems (I have a great life, but hey we all have lots of big problems over a 24 year period). I would really like to focus on God more than on me. My sister who lives 1,000 miles away is going to join me on this journey. We want to be healthier role models for our sons and daughters, but more importantly, we want them to see us look to God instead of Oreos.

  537. I joined MTC bc I looooove Lysa and her practical approach to christian living and how she explains what the bible says.

  538. Colleen Beard says:

I have struggled with my weight pretty much all of my life. Did a lot of dieting with all sorts of fads and great weight loss programs, only to go back to the food and gain, gain and gain some more. I did a Bible study over ten years ago that focused on the sin of gluttony and following your hunger/satisfaction signs. This was a great eye opener and I lost a good amount of weight, but back it came along with more. What it did teach me was that my focus was not on God. I have been in a spiritual battle ever since (no stubbornness here, right?). I just started using My Fitness Pal, looked up some groups and came across Made to Crave, which had a post about your Bible study and knew, without a doubt, that God was speaking to me. It is time to step up the Good fight and go with God! I am so excited! I feel like a little kid waiting for Christmas!!! Is it the 19th yet?????

  539. I just had my second daughter about 5 1/2 weeks ago, and I find myself craving sugar like it’s air to breathe! I want to only crave God that way. I’ve read Lysa’s book before, but now I want to re-read it with the specific goal of giving up sugar and clinging to God. :)

  540. As an almost 40 year old, I recently became a personal trainer. I believe that God has called me into this line of work and my passion is to help other moms get healthy! I thought this bible study would help me help others!

  541. Jenny Jerving says:

A lady from my church that I attend invited me to join her in the Made to Crave Bible Study. I am so excited for the study to begin. I have lost 90# in a secular weight lose program but grave a Christian support group. I thank God for answering my prayers in Made to Crave and Tracey from my church. I am hopeful that Made to Crave will help me lose the last 20# I need to lose and that Made to Crave will help me stay on the straight and narrow path God has for me to walk. I love my Jesus so very much and I crave to honor Him with living a healthy, holy, and happy life. God bless you and may we all win the race God has in store for us! Love and prayers, Jenny

  542. I’m 30 years old. I live in Florida. Since having my 2 children, ages 5 and 6, I have struggled to lose weight. I have been a yo-yo. I like my food, especially my sweets. I just feel like MTC will help me turn to The Lord for comfort instead of my foods.

  543. I have never done an on=line bible study before and am kinda nervous if I am going to get anything out of it. I am use to doing bible studies at church. Wanted to do this one to get a fresh start on my life. Am anxious to see how it goes!! I need to get back on my WW program but need the motivation to get started. Hoping this will do it!!!

  544. Amazing how our God works….30,000!!!!!!! I am excited for the MTC online study because I truly want to crave Him more and more and more….And unhealthy things less and less and less…

  545. Excited to be a part of 30,000! Looking to grow in so many ways – grow in my spirituality and faith in God and grow healthier!

  546. Pam Johnson says:

I have been struggling against overeating and losing the battle. Like Lysa said, God doesn’t want me to live in this cycle of defeat!

  547. Denise Hale says:

I joined MTC bible study because I am desperate to be changed from the inside out. I have been a follower of Christ for nearly 10 years now but my struggle with food began when I was about 14. When I say “I’ve tried it all”, I mean I have literally tried every program you can think of and nothing has truly set me free. I am just exhausted of doing this my way and failing!! I know Jesus is my only hope! I am also so sick of pretending that I am OK. I am NOT ok. I need help and support. I am hoping this online study will help me connect with others like me. ~ Denise

  548. Stacey Stansberry says:

I am looking forward to a new style of devotions. I haven’t tried an online devotional and am hoping this will help me in my never ending quest of eating healthier and focusing on God.

  549. Michele Cook says:

This is my first on-line Bible Study with a book other than the Bible!
I want to grow in the Lord and SHRINK ME!!! In oh-so-many ways: More of our Heavenly Father and less of me! I have been a fan of Proverbs 31 and Lysa for years, and am so excited that I now live nearby! (moved to Charlotte, NC from MI) I know that doesn’t matter when it is on-line, but I do hope to meet Lysa someday! Thank you in advance for the OLBS! SO looking forward to it!

  550. Lynn Bowman says:

Hello to all the MTC girls! My name is Lynn and I live in Dillon, SC. I have been struggling with my weight for quite some time. My husband and children call me the infomercial queen! I have ordered almost every weight loss gadget and gizmo or exercise program that you can think of! I actually bought the Made to Crave book last year and never got around to reading it. :( Anyway, I’m so looking forward to this OBS. Hopefully the comraderie and accountability will keep me on track. I truly believe that my trouble all along has been me trying to do this weight loss thing on my own without seeking God. I guess that’s one of those areas where we/I feel that I shouldn’t bother God with something so human. But I’m trying to remind myself that He loves me and He cares and He is concerned about EVERY aspect of my life. This includes my battle with the bulge!! Looking forward to getting started! Let’s do this!!!!

  551. Jennifer Chatman says:

I decided to do the Made to Crave Bible study because I felt like I need a fresh start in my physical, spiritual, and emotional health. I think it will be a great for me as I start my new year. I’ve already begun a 21 day fast and think this study will help me as well, by getting encouragement from other women of God.

    In Christ,
    Jennifer Chatman

  552. A while ago I had a friend introduce me to made to crave and I purchased the book on my kindle. I have yet to read past the first chapter, so I intend to finish it this time with the assistance of others :). Not only do I hope to lose weight, of course, I am hoping to get closer to God. I have met many hardships the last few months including some friendships lost, as well as my husband telling me he no longer loves me and wants a divorce. Now legally separated an am working towards making myself a better person not only for me, but for my children. I am now a single, non-working mom, struggling to make ends meet until I am able to return back “home” (he is military and we are currently stuck in Germany awaiting for return paperwork for the girls and I). I have cried how to God more then ever recently and feel that without him there is no way I will get through what is going on right now. Thanks for the online class! Can’t wait!!

  553. Megan Archer says:

I’m so excited to do this Bible Study. I have never done an online Bible study before, but I know it will be fun with all of you. How awesome is it that we can come together to learn and grow closer to God all while encouraging each other. I would really love to win this prize pack to share with my mom. She and I have struggled with our weight for years. I’m a Believer, but she isn’t and I think this would be an awesome way to open her eyes to the saving power of Jesus Christ while also getting healthier. She and I are currently on the Biggest Loser Diet meal plan also. We lost about 35 lbs when we did it a few years ago, but have since gained some back. Abby Rike’s story is a powerful testimony of not only God’s grace, but also of His healing and freedom. I am excited for January 19!!

  554. After a long coldspell and staying inside with my little grandchildren,,, I was in need of some motivation.
I signed up for our community weight loss challenge- not so much to lose weight, but for the motivation.
I had found myself over-eating and just waiting for the next time to eat. I am a very disciplined person, but
I don’t like that my thoughts are about food so much. As I was ordering the Bible Study book “A Sudden Glory”, I also saw your book and knew it was going to help me. So I will be starting all 3 the same week and
have my thoughts put in order!! I love the Lord and I am sad that I put food before HIM.

  555. Shannon Ainsworth says:

My name is Shannon and I am so excited about this bible study! I have struggled with food issues all of my life. I desperately want to find freedom. I also have two beautiful daughters, one is eight and one is four. I want to stop this cycle of sin with me. I don’t want my daughters to learn to live like this. I am begging the Lord to break this generational curse with me right here and right now. Believing because He is always faithful!!

  556. I signed up because I am 44, I work full time, have 3 kids and go to school full time. I need a convenient bible study plus I need to shed a lot of pounds. I want more than anything to be where God wants me!

  557. Christina says:

This is my first online Bible study and I am so excited! I joined because I do crave a stronger, closer relationship with God. I also struggle not only with my weight, but also with the willpower to stick to my diet and exercise the right to use that gym membership I pay for every month. In July 2013, I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and put on two prescriptions to take daily. I am only 36 years old! I refuse to be on medication for a problem that I can control. So, I signed up for Weight Watchers and ordered P90x that same day. At my one month recheck appointment, I lost 12 pounds. Not only that, I felt better. Well, I joined the gym right after that. When I went in for my two month recheck, I had lost a total of 27 pounds. I felt AMAZING! Needless to say, I’ve dropped back into the slump of kinda eating what I want with some moderation and my exercise is nonexistent. I get stressed, I eat. This has to stop. So, I’m really excited to participate in the Made to Crave Bible study.

  558. I am a child of God, wife, mother of three children (18, 15, & 5), step mother to one (19), and full time employee. WOW, that is a mouth full! This past year has been extremely difficult for me and I have struggled. I joined my first online bible study – A Confident Heart. I enjoyed the book so much, I joined the rev it up Facebook event and really enjoyed that. I found out that, we, women struggle with so many of the same things. When I so that the next student was MTC, I knew that I had to join. I can’t wait to start the study…move closer to God…and gain some friendships along the way. Thank you for all that you do to make this a community of sisters.

  559. Laurie Kaiser says:

I have done several on-line Bible studies and have enjoyed the experience. I’ve also done several group Bible studies. Weight loss is something that I have struggled with for many years. I know what to do and how to do it; however, I can’t seem to pull it all together to be successful. I’m hoping, with the on-line group’s support, and getting closer to God that I will be successful this time. I’m so excited and ready to get started!!!

  560. Kelley Reeher says:

I’m really excited to do the Crave Bible Study. I did Unglued this summer with a friend and it was life changing. Thank you Lysa for sharing your gift of writing and God’s word in a fun, yet life altering way.

  561. Melissa Shirley says:

I am hoping to grow as a Christian from this Bible study as well as lose weight . I was always thin until about 3 or 4 years ago. After I got married I starting gaining weight like crazy and can’t seem to lose it. I am hoping to find the motivation to lose weight and make healthier choices.

  562. I just want to draw near to Him in all aspects of my life…

  563. Laurie Brocki says:

I’m participating in this study because I need to lose over 100 lbs. I successfully lost 25 lbs. but over the holidays I gained back five of those pounds. I need support, but I need the right kind of support. I need other people who are committed Christians to help me along on the rest of the journey toward regaining a healthy sense of self worth while losing weight. I firmly believe that the Lord cares about the way we eat and treat food. Food is harder to control than other addictions because we need to eat to live! We just can’t stop eating. I can successfully fast, but once I take the first bite afterward it is difficult to stop. I’m looking forward to this study and want to change my attitude toward food.

  564. Carol Krueger says:

Hello! I promised myself that when I turned 50 I would get to my goal weight and keep it there the rest of my life. Well… I did lose weight, but I’m 51 now and not where I need to be! I just completed the ACH OBS and was so blessed that I signed up for MTC before I even knew completely what I was in for! WOW! I’m sure this is just what I need to help me find success without getting hung up on unrealistic expectations.

I may not do cartwheels … mine are more like Lysa’s than Melissa’s … :-). But, I plan to climb Mt. McLoughlin this summer with a friend and I need to be in better shape to make that happen. So. Oregon is a wonderland for outdoor activities and it is my home. Many blessings to all!

  565. I am a Midwest mother of 2, struggling daily to fight my afternoon binge snacking. I know that God makes all things possible, and I pay that this bible study will start me down a path to better health, better relationship with God, and better mothering.

  566. Michelle R says:

WaaaaaaHoooooo!! Yay God for 30,000 ~ anticipating glory and Gods way for all of us!!!

  567. I registered a while ago and have eagerly been awaiting the start of what I think could be life-changing for me. On December 23rd my life took a totally unexpected turn with the death of my youngest brother. I have just returned from his memorial and although I am experiencing almost unbearable grief I am more determined than ever to make a healthier me. Do not wait for tomorrow, friends, for it may never come. Let’s all be the best we can be. Blessings.

  568. I am doing this study because I have struggled with my weight and have been focusing on it as just a physical issue when I should be looking at the spiritual side of it as well. I cannot honor God with my body and everything I am if I am not healthy enough to do it.

  569. I have always been active and have done sports so I would eat whatever. Then my husband and I had our first child and losing that baby weight has been very difficult. I didn’t realize how much my body would change! I have also realized how much I rely on food when I’m happy, sad, bored, excited… you get the idea. I see this as a Spiritual battle where I need to crave God more than food. I need to pray and go to the Lord for strength. I want to lose weight and develop healthy eating habits, especially before it’s time for the next baby. But what is really more important is my relationship with Christ. I want victory over this stronghold.

  570. I was invite by a friend. I’ve had the book for quite some time and I have been wanting to read it with some accountability. There are a lot of areas that I need to get in check and I’d love to have a friend close to me to share this with!

  571. I am 44 years old. I have lived with a food addiction through most of my adult life eating when I am happy, sad, mad or board. I am a Cancer survivor (Thank you Jesus) and between careers; marriages; children; step children; health issues in the family and life crisis in general I have gained so much weight I know I have come to it where I have to let God take control and help me. This book is a last ditch effort at hope and understanding how to get myself out of the closet of shame I live in. Thank you for being there to help.

  572. Brandi Horton says:

Hello. I just turned 33 this past Sunday and am the momma to a wonderful, energetic 6 year old. I have struggled with my weight for almost as long as I have been out of high school, which is coming up on 15 years. In that time period I have seen myself go from a trim, lean, athletic 125 pounds on my five foot eight inch frame to the 228 pounds that I weighed in at yesterday which is the heaviest I have ever weighed, including the time I was pregnant. I was able to loose weight when we were struggling to conceive and dropped 30 pounds then in one month of loosing those 30 pounds poof I was pregnant. Since all of the weight has came on I have struggled tremendously with my self esteem to the point I feel completely unattractive to everyone including my husband and when I look at myself in the mirror I don’t know the person staring back at me, that person does not even appear to be feminine at all. Additionally I feel like a slug, I have absolutely no energy. I work in a emotionally exhausting career and by the time I deal with the drama from work I am mentally, physically and emotionally exhausted. I am hoping that doing this online bible study will help me to focus my efforts more positively if I am going on this journey with God right beside me. I have had the Made to Crave book on my kindle for almost a year now and I started reading it but unfortunately things go in the way and I never really got too far into it. I’m hoping that with the knowledge that there are others reading it with me will help me to be accountable.

  573. Michelle lawson says:

I have always tried to maintain a healthy lifestyle, but sometimes get hyper focused on my goals. I would like to have God be the focus of my fitness goals, not a pant size, a number on the scale or a faster mile time.

  574. Sarah Weddle says:

I hosted a MTC Bible Study at my house a few years ago as part of a small group. It was great and when I saw that this was going on, I knew that God was speaking to me and using this as His way to draw me closer. I just got married 2 weeks ago and both my husband and I are committed to a healthier lifestyle – its easier for him and I know that for me I need God on my side to make it through the challenges. Thank God for inspiring the technology that makes this study possible

  575. I signed up for Made to Crave because I am ready for a change. I have a hard time doing things by myself so I thought this would be perfect for me, 30,000, wow! I hope to loose 100lbs over the next year if not sooner and hopefully eliminate some of the medications I am on!

  576. Hello-
I’ve signed up to do the Made to Crave study because I am on a path to try to change my life for the better. I know that there are times where I resort to food to comfort me when I should turn to the Lord. Our God is an awesome God…and it just pains me to say that I don’t have the relationship with Him that I should, that I want, or that I need…. Now, for my family and myself, I am doing this. I am focusing on this. And hopefully, in the process of MTC study, I will also become healthier and happier than ever before.!

  577. Juliette Cooper says:

I’m doing the Made to Crave study because ever since my daughter died 2 years ago, I eat my feelings. I’ve tried everything to stop & nothing works. At the time of her death I had lost 35 pounds through exercise & doing Weight Watchers. She used to watch me run & bike almost every day & I vowed to continent to get healthy for her & her sister. Now I need to get healthy for my other daughter & my son. I need to figure out the why behind of my eating & learn new ways to deal with those feelings. I’m praying that this is what will make it or break or for me.

  578. Sophia Lusk says:

I’m so very excited.. I have my 24 year old daughter, A 16 year old female at a School I work for and talking to others about this.. Looking for God to do amazing things in our lives.. Thank you so much!

  579. Laura Coalson says:

    Hi,
I’m here to find a community of liked minded women. I desire a closer relationship with my savior and really need help getting healthier. In addition to MTC I am also reading The Daniel Plan and part of that plan is friends. I recently moved to Colorado and really do not have any friends in this state yet. I want to be part of a loving, christian, driven community of women seeking a similar goal. When my friend sent me this link I knew I needed to be part of this online Bible study. Thank you for allowing me to be part of such an awesome experience. I look forward to this study.

    Laura

  580. Colleen Stoeckel says:

I’ve been getting back to the gym since fall. While I’m feeling better and healthier, I know I could still improve by eating healthier. I’ve been looking for a Bible Study (in general, not specifically this topic) When I saw this on Facebook and thought it may be just what I need!

  581. Brenda McEachern says:

I have heard such positive things about this study and it’s results. A friend participated at a local church and said it changed her outlook completely. I recently retired, am overweight, and need to get healthier to enjoy my retirement life.

  582. I have tried many methods to dieting. I even signed up for a gym memebership and figured that would definitely do the trick. Over the past few years of attempting to change my diet and my fitness I found myself still feeling like a failure. I had heard about the MTC book but didn’t put much thought into the help I could get or bond I would build with God in the process. So here I am now…..ready more than ever to finally tackle this wall of weight that has kept me from succeeding. In edition to that my faith has blossomed and now I am confident with the help of MTC I will see permanent positive results!

  583. I have had the privilege of a friend sharing the first few pages in the devotional .It is awesome .I keep asking her to continue to share. When you understand where your craving are coming from will make controlling them through the power of Jesus easier

  584. Kathy Thompson says:

I am single and have struggled with food my whole life. I’m so tired of putting food first and really want God first in my life! I really want to crave Him, now more than ever. I lost my mom a few days before Christmas and I have really been struggling. I’ve taken care of her the past few years, along with my aunt (her sister), who passed away in July. It’s been a hard 5 months and I’m feeling lost. I know God is with me in my pain and sadness. Weight loss or not…I just want to want God more than anything else!

  585. I am a momma of four. Three in 20′s; one a senior.
With life changing very fast from a 24 year career change and retiring parents and a drastic move, I am desperate… DID I SAY DESPERATE???…
Yes, Desperate to hear from God on many levels!!!!!
I am CRAVING the wisdom from above to replace this worldly yap-yap.
This will be my second time going through MTC. I am READY and WAITING, LORD! <3

  586. Alissa Burns says:

Hello :) I am 39 and live in South Louisiana. I have a teenage son. I love empowering, encouraging, and believing in teenagers. I work with the elderly also and am greatly rewarded by this. I am excited about this study because I want God to be my only and biggest craving. So many other things get in the way in our daily lives and I personally have found this to be so in my life. Thank you for all that you guys do! I have The Proverbs 31 devotional bible and love it. I also look forward to the daily emailed devotions. Thanks again!- Alissa

  587. I had gotten your Made to Crave book back in November and started reading it and was amazed how what you wrote was what i was thinking and has helped me. I have not finished the book and am very greatful you have this bible study to start back with reading and finishing the book. With Jesus all things are possible and he will give me the stregnth and desire to commit and finsih this study and i pray for healthy results that a pleasing to God and my life. May everyone of us 30,000 + have blessed results. In Jesus’ name we pray it is done.

  588. Jody Malloneecc says:

    Hi,
I have lead, and participated in a few of Lysa’s studies, I was looking for something that would help me get back on track and get off the yo-yo cycle that I have been on. I had been doing ok for a while, then life happened. My husband was deployed to Afghanistan, after just 4 month, he became ill there and after finally being able to be seen at hospital, was diagnosed with Leukemia. This was in late April, he has been in treatment since. I have spent hours just sitting in a hospital room, unable to do to much while sitting with him, I was eating fast food, a vending machine junk because that was what was available. I packed on the pounds and now I want it off. My husband has been healed through the power of prayer and a perfect match stem cell transplant. He will be able to return to work in a little over a month, and I NEED to work on getting me back in tune with what God has in store for me now.

  589. Simone Fanene says:

I am a So-Cal mother of 6… Yes, 6!!! I signed up for the study actually not realizing it was about addiction to food, losing weight, etc.. I signed up to just become deeper in the Word of God in 2014. My personal motto for 2014 is the three F’s… Faith, Family, and Fitness. (and yes, I am one of those people that creates a yearly theme or motto!!!) I think this study is going to definately keep me on task with my motto. I figure if I can focus on those 3 things, everything else will fall into place.

  590. Christine A Tetreault says:

I have never been a part of an online Bible study. But, I am so excited to be a part of this one.
I signed up at the YMCA yesterday, and hope that I can do some yoga to help.
I had a heart attack on January 18, 2012. I also have lower back problems and COPD. Losing weight has never been easy for me. I enjoy food. But, with God’s help and friends to encourage me. I will be able to become the person God made me to be.

  591. That is sooooosoooooo awesomeness !! We are so blessed to be part of this
    Is epic!!! ❤️❤️❤️

  592. Carol Ann says:

Hi there! I am a post-menopausal woman who can’t seem to lose any weight. I tried a bit of low carb last year but that came to a crashing halt when I became ill with pancreatitis. I keep praying for the LORD to show me the right way to eat for my body. I am so hopeful that this study will be His answer to me.

  593. Stephanie Ferguson says:

I joined this book study because I have found if I keep reading such excellent inspirational books it keeps me thinking about God and all of the wonderful things he does for us. I have recently joined a church group with my husband which is attended by other families like ourselves. I have grown a lot this past year in Christ, and I am determined to continue my journey! I was interested in this book because I want to lose weight (duh) and I want to be spiritually healthy as well as physically.

  594. Shelley Flores says:

I don’t really “do” New Year’s Resolutions but I do believe in having goals! I was really busy this past year after starting a direct sales business at the end of the previous year, so I was not spending as much time with God everyday and was not eating healthy and gained some more weight!! So I made goals for time with God and getting healthier among a couple of others so when I saw this on the website and it really spoke to me! I am so excited for this opportunity!!

  595. Hey there! I signed up because I’m a mom of 4 teenagers and I feel I have lost myself. When you cook for 6 people, large quantities…indulging is easy. I need a support system and I pray this is the answer! I can’t wait!!!

  596. I am a working mom of a soon to be 16 year old daughter. I commute 50 min each day to work and I am often eating into car. Not the best choice I know. I want to stop the food binge cycle and learn how to crave things other than carbs and caffeine.

  597. My name is Brenna! :) This is my 7th OBS I believe. Honestly when I heard we were doing Made to Crave next I was a little discouraged. Like, do I really need this book? But what I’ve learned in my walk with God is that he can teach you alot through something that you think doesn’t apply to you! :) God can use anything and everything to speak to you! So excited to get started on this OBS! I’ve read a couple chapters already and so far it’s really great! <3

  598. Karen carney says:

I am a mom of four and wife to an awesome Godfearing husband…I have always struggled with the last 10-15 pounds in my weight and I have developed a burning desire in the past few months to go deeper with God…crave just says it all!

  599. I signed up because I realize I am on again off again with my eating and excersize habits. Looking forward to the encouragement and insites of M2C

  600. Hope Bailey says:

I just finished unglued and read the preview for made to crave. I have struggled with me weight because of Thyroid issues but I also do not always make good food choices. I look forward to studying what the Bible has to say about these issues.

  601. I worked hard on exercise and eating habits for over a year, lost 25lbs and was starting to feel really good, my husband and I went to HI for our anniversary and he died in a drowning accident while we were there, then I gained the whole 25lbs back in 6 months! I feel like it’s time to move forward and change my focus on to God and not food.

  602. I am excited to start this study after years of struggling with over-eating/eating addiction. I work with people in substance abuse treatment and never realized until the last couple years how similar my behaviors are to some of my clients – and I can’t avoid food, it’s everywhere! Looking forward to learning more about what God has to say about craving HIM instead of food!

  603. Signed up because I went throught the MTC OBS and webcasts back in 2011 – and using what I learned, I lost 75 pounds. Since then I’ve lost my focus and gained about 20 pounds back – and I only had about 25 before to reach my goal. I want to gain a closer relationship and dependency on God and to lose my cravings and dependency on food.

  604. I decided to do this (my first) online Bible study because I felt like I need a fresh start in my physical, spiritual, and emotional health. I’ve recently started a new eating plan, and I hope that I can stick to it with God’s help. I really feel Him nudging me toward this and can’t wait to start!

  605. Meredith Morgan says:

I’m 35 married and a mother of 3, I have struggled with food for a long time and just recently learned how to rely on God even in my simple struggles such as food. I cannot wait to do this study, looking forward to learning so much more!!!

  606. I recently went through a divorce and have been letting my emotions control my actions (mainly with eating). I am ready to take control back and give it to God instead.

  607. Karen Bryant says:

I have been looking for a devotional and help in loosing weight. More than anything I want to grow closer to God. I saw your website from a post someone put on Facebook, I was drawn into looking further into your program. I am hooked. I am married and have been for 44 years but have missed having the spiritual relationship I need. I know God led me to you.

  608. I have spent thousands of dollars playing the weight-loss yo-yo game. You name it, I’ve tried it…including some very unhealthy tactics. But nothing has worked. Then, when I saw a friend’s post on FB about this online study, I received my moment of clarity: I’ve never asked the Lord for help with this. My reasons have been selfish and vain. Even if I don’t hit a certain number on a scale, participating in this book study will (and already has!) have a positive impact on my life. I’m so excited to get started!

  609. BJ Calver says:

I am 57 years young, I had my 2nd open heart surgery in 2012, with mechial aortic valve failure and a anyerisum on my ascending aorta. That explained why I felt so tired etc and the weight gain. :) It was only 15 years since my first valve surgery, but God was watching over me, my body grew scar tissue over the first valve and my Dr. said it was almost closed so a replacement was in order, Yeah! After a pre op test they found the large ayerisum on my ascending aortia! Yeah turned to Praise God, Thank you Lord!
Once again The Lord was carrying me for His purpose. I had two more surgeries in 2013, depression from surgeries, complications etc. Now (2013) with a pacemaker added in to my mechcanical parts list and a bad gallbladder in some disposal, the focus is about loosing the weight from being ill and getting well, restoring God’s temple and being ready for His next step for me. I am excited and abit concerned that I may fail, as I still am not 100%, BUT ( which is the eraser), I am saying YES to GOD and giving it my bestest!!!!!
    Let’s go girls!

  610. Greetings –
May name is Darcey Lynn Cobbs-Lomax. I am a 40 year old working mother of three and pet parent (Lester a 6 month old hamster) working in the health care industry as does my husband. We work opposite shifts (I work days and he works nights) we live up in New England (State of Connecticut).

This is my third consecutive on-line bible study. I participated in “Yes to God” and “Made to Crave”.

I signed up for this one as I have a little momentum now. This study fits my lifestyle and I have even gotten two friends to sign up also this time and am excited to do this with them.

I do not have food “issues” actually, but like most Americans I am bigger than I should be. I work in the U.S. health care system which is really a disease management system and for all intents and purposes I “know” better about managing my health. Yet, in this country doctors and nurses do not out-live their patients despite all the statistics and book knowledge we have.
I often question myself as to why I do not do better for myself, and I am convinced now that it is because I do not seek God FIRST in this area of my life CONSISTENTLY.

So, I’m not looking for a quick fik, but a God fix and from what I can tell after reading the intro, this book is one facet in my “God-fix.” I cannot wait to get started!

    Darcey

  611. I have determined that 2014 will be the year for me to grow spiritually closer to The Lord and get my eating and health under control. When I saw the advertisement for an online bible study I thought what a fun way to study scripture , with other women all over the world. It’s so easy to always surround ourselves with the same group of people. So I am looking forward to hearing and learning from my new online friends. I also love the topic of this book and anticipate The Lord to teach us all great things !

  612. This is my first online bible study. I found out about this bible study by radio K-Love. This study looked interesting. I hope to grow in my walk with God.

  613. I am 62 (how did THAT happen?!) and still working full time. Almost 15 years ago I reached my goal weight in Weight Watchers and am still a devotee though not as active a participant as previously. One of the side affects of WW, I believe, is that I obsess over every bite that goes in my mouth, sometimes patting myself on the back and sometimes kicking myself. When I’m not eating, I’m thinking about eating. Though I have maintained a fairly healthy weight somewhat over my goal weight, I’m hoping to refocus myself away from food and onto God’s word.

  614. Kay Lynne Ege says:

I signed up for the Made to Crave on-line Bible study so that I could get back in the “grove” of doing a meaningful Bible study with others. I was in a leadership position with our church’s FP4H for 3 years and we have decided to take a break for the sessions for awhile. I wanted to find something and a good friend suggested I try this one. So I did….. I am so very thankful for the opportunity the Lord has given me AND I am excited about this book.

  615. I picked up the Made to Crave book a few months ago and loved it. I have the Devotional, Video, and Made to Crave Action Plan book. So ready to get started as I have struggled many years with unhealthy eating and craving food more than God a great deal of the time. Excited about the online bible study and can’t wait to get started.
Thanks to Lysa for listening to the Lord and having such a great affect on so many “For such a time as this” blessings, “G”

  616. I am a mother of three boys, oldest one being in kindergarten. I feel like every day is the same old thing, me waiting for bedtime! I am currently separated from my husband so I often feel quite separated from God as well. I’m thinking this bible study will help me get back on track and crave His word again.

  617. Raven Lawson says:

I have been on a weight loss journey many times before and lets face it, it was not successful. I have decided I wanted to try again, but take a different approach and find accountability partners, surely I would be successful then, right? Less than a week later, I received an email about MTC and immediately I knew this is what I needed. MTC is definitely God sent. I am a huge emotional eater and I believe with MTC, I will learn how to use God as my outlet and not food. I cannot wait for this Bible study to begin!

  618. Dawn Benson says:

I’ve tried too many times and failed. At this time in my life, I need godly people surrounding me to get me through this journey.

I need to be encouraged and to encourage other people with the same goal, getting healthy by the grace of God.

  619. I have never done an online bible study before and I am super excited about this one. I feel like this is exactly where God wants me to be not just for getting my eating and cravings under control but to bring me closer in my walk with God. I am a super busy mom of 5 ages 18-2 1/2 years. I try hard but I always have excuses about why I should have/deserve that piece of chocolate or handful of potato chips. I did the Unglued study with a friend of mine and it was great. I’m excited to see God work through this new adventure.

  620. Amy Curtis says:

First of all, thank you so much for being there for me for so many years and through so much! I hope you ladies know how important your work is and how much impact you have! Your daily devotionals have encouraged me through many trials. I wanted to do this bible study to get myself in the word daily and change the way I treat my body.

    Thank you again!

  621. My husband and I have recently relocated to a new state. We have yet to connect with a church. I work with children and very few adults. I am taking this time before my commitments at a new church/neighborhood/life get overwhelming and I have God on the back burner once again! I am excited about the online bible study to be able to connect with others going through similar circumstances: over weight most of my life, yo-yo up and down- more up than down. I have a seemingly endless well of hopelessness and tend to give up easy- if I even try at all- as I have failed more than I care to admit. There is that mustard seed of faith- I hope and pray- that will spur me on to be successful once and for all.

  622. I enrolled in this study after stumbling across one of Lysa’s blogs. I know that God placed her blog on my lap top screen. I have lost well over 100 pounds in two years. I want to lose about forty more. I had gotten to the point of being down on myself on how long it was taking. But, I know now that is wrong. God has laid it on my heart that I am already enough. I am his daughter. I want to draw closer to Him through the end of my journey.

  623. Hi, I’m Lori. I signed up for the MTC study because I needed some motivation and I have a time conflict with our women’s Bible study at my church. I needed something that is a little more flexible and I think this will be perfect for me. I am excited to grow thinner while growing closer to Our Heavenly Father.

I am excited to get started.

    Lori

  624. I received the Made to Crave devotional from a great friend. It has inspired me daily in my journey to Craving God not food. Am looking forward to studying the book with all of you!

  625. I’ve read this book before and lost 30 lbs. Recently I have had 3 surgeries and haven’t been able to do much. I’ve gained 40lbs back!! :( looking forward to this online study.

  626. Kara Dalmacio says:

Hello, I’m Kara in AZ. I am a skinny fat girl. Meaning I have managed to stay thin despite my bad eating habits. I work out but I’m not able to build muscle because I don’t eat enough protein. I read MTC a year ago and it motivated me to make healthier eating choices. It was pretty easy because I was focused on God. He really helped me. I slowly reverted back to bad eating (it’s my sweet tooth that KILLS me).
I am going to use a journal during this study and really focus on memorizing scripture and challenge myself to do much better this time. I thank God for this book and you guys for doing this study. I know that all 30,000+ of us will be blessed by this study!

  627. Hello Proverbs 31 Ministries, My name is Christabelle Arguello, I’m a single momma raising two little boys that fill my life with with so much joy! I just signed up yesterday to this on-line study which I have shared with all my gals!! I’m very excited about reading Made to Crave and being a part of this on-line study. I trust the Lord has BIG plans to help me heal in so many areas of my life, especially my food cravings. I want to crave more of HIM and less of food!! Thank you Proverbs 31 for making an impact in my life and sharing Gods word everyday so diligently!! God bless you ALL! With Love, Christabelle

  628. One of my friends was talking about it on FB and how great it was so I went to amazon and ordered the ebook.I love it so far it is just what I need at this time in my life.Hit a milestone birthday last year and decided it is finally time to start getting a handle on my food and weight issues.Thank You! for writing the book and having the bible study available.I know this book will get me on the right road to a better me physically, mentally, and most importantly spiritually.

  629. I was at a Daybreak conference a few years back and you were the speaker there. I was captivated by what you had to say about this study. I bought the items needed and never could get myself up and going. But 2014 is my year. I want to be healthier, loose weight and most of all have a much stronger walk with the LORD. I am so thankful I was able to sign up and I am really excited to see what GOD has in store for ALL OF US! I am giving all of it to HIM and praying for the best for the group and for you as you lead us!
    God’s Richest Blessings ~ J

  630. I have been fighting the battle of obesity since childhood. During the latter half of 2011 and first half of 2012 I lost 68 pounds with many more to go. I got married June 30, 2012 and a month later I found out I was pregnant. That put an end to weight loss. My beautiful blessing from God is now 9 months old and I have gained all but 27 of the pounds back that I worked so hard to lose (and not all of it was from the pregnancy). Weight loss is just one of 10 goals I set for this year. My main goal is to grow closer to God trough studying His Word daily and I am excited to see how MTC will be a factor.

  631. Jodi Privette says:

Not only am I tired of craving ungodly things, I want to crave GOD more. I feel like I have spent too much of my life without putting Him first. I have about 40 pounds to lose and am hoping that this study will also help with that, but my #1 goal is to grow in my faith and love for God.

  632. I have tried everything and things keep getting worse for me. I have tried support groups before too but that didn’t help either….well it helps for a short time but I can’t seem to find a group that works. So I figured my problem was more deep inside and if I connected more with God that maybe I could get past it.

  633. I signed up first to grow closer to my Savior and second to be able to talk, share, laugh and learn from like minded women.

  634. Terese McGlinn says:

I’ve already listened to the audiobook, and was so excited to see there is an online study!! Yay! I can’t wait to see what Gid has planned for me during this time, what a great way to kick off the new year, thank you thank you!!

  635. Angie Brown says:

I had lost 60lbs after battling my weight all of my life. I still had about 50 lbs to go. I got lazy and tired of “dieting”. I have stayed in the same size I got down to but it is much tighter than it was, so needless to say I have gained some weight back. I have had two opportunities to go through this study and never did it bc the timing wasn’t good. This time it just feels perfect! Doing it Gods way and with other Christian woman who understand what I am going through. It will always be a battle but I have faith that I will win this battle with god on my side.

  636. Amanda P. says:

I signed up for MTC because I feel that the online study will be more flexible for my busy schedule. It is a study I have wanted to do for a while now but can’t ever find the time or somewhere offering it. Thanks so much!

  637. I was a skinny girl for the first 20 plus years of my life. I weighed 105 when I got married at age 24. However, I was not physically fit, plus I depended on food for comfort. After having children and turning 40, suddenly I’m not skinny anymore! I find myself overweight and unable to get my weight and hormones under control. I know it is because of my relationship with food. More importantly, I know that the root of my problem cannot be fixed with another diet or by giving up carbs. I joined this study in order to be encouraged (and to encourage others) as I seek God’s best for me in this area.

  638. Rachel Pritchard says:

I signed up for this Bible study for several reasons.
    1. I have been heavy my entire life and have always struggled with healthy eating and my weight. I lost a significant amount of weight a few years ago, but then backslid after a personal tragedy this year. I’m ready to continue my weight-loss journey and become the person God created me to be! I know that’s only possible if I invite God to help me and join me on the journey!
    2. I’ve never done an online Bible study before, and as a graduate student and youth leader at my church I don’t have a lot of free time on a regular basis. This will be the perfect option to still feel a part of a study group but gives me the flexibility to do it in my own time.
    3. I’m excited to be in community with other beautiful, fantastic ladies!

I thank God and I thank you for offering this study at this time!

  639. That was a great cartwheel, ladies!

  640. Keli Goodman says:

Hi, I’m Keli, homeschooling mom of two daughters, 9 and almost 13. Honestly, I’ve owned the book, Made to Crave, for a while now and for whatever reason (call it life) I haven’t even begun to read it. But I know I need to. I’ve come to a place in my life where I’m over-stressed, over-weight and turning to food for my comfort. I believe it’s God who has called me to the life I have and it’s also God who I should be turning to for comfort and help. But that’s been easier said than done, as the dusty MTC book testifies. So that’s why I signed up when I heard about this online study. Instead of making my standard new year renewal of weight loss goals, I’ve resolved to make my relationship with God my priority and see what He has to offer. If at year’s end I haven’t lost a pound, but have grown closer to God, it will have been a successful year. (And I suspect that when I begin to depend on God for my needs, instead of visiting the fridge, those pounds will begin to take care of themselves.) I’m excited to get started!

  641. Hi – my name is Kiffany and I hail from beautiful downtown St. David, AZ. I am a pastor’s wife and a mother of 4, and a grandmother of 5. One of the reasons I signed up for MTC was because I had such a wonderful time with A Confident Heart and couldn’t wait to start the next OBS. The main reason, however, is because I want to crave a close relationship with my Comforter instead of a close relationship with my “comfort food”. My goal is to stay focused on what is important and what God wants for me. I learned so much from the last study, that I know this one will be just as encouraging.

  642. I am a single mom of two. I have tried for many many many years and thousands of dollars trying to lose weight. Nothing I have tried has worked. It then came to me that the only help I need is through God. After coming to this decision, I then learned about this Bible study. I truly feel this is my answer to helping me finally lose weight. In doing so, I can maybe finally be rid of (heal) my fibromyalgia. Many blessings to you all for this Bible study and blessing to all who are participating. May the Lord guide us on this journey opening up to us what we need to learn about ourselves so that we can finally honor the beautiful creations He has uniquely made in each of us. That we can learn to feed and care for these beautiful bodies He has given us. Amen.

  643. I received the book from a wonderful friend and have yet to read it plus need to break this cycle of weight up and weight down and change mind sets on food and stinkin’ thinking in Jesus name. This is a huge battle for me and I need help.

  644. I joined because I have read the book on my own, and have the DVD and devotional and participant’s guide, but it will be so much more fun, I think, to study it again with others! I have been struggling with my weight for a few years now and have become discouraged at times because it seems the only thing I can do with my weight is add to it! I am ready and willing to turn it over to God…but I need to figure out how to do that. I am hoping this study will help me accomplish that. Thank you for offering this online study! My aunt has also joined the study because of the number of times I posted it on my facebook page encouraging others to take it as well. Glad to see there are so many of us out there — more support and encouragement that way! Here’s praying we all get what we need from this study. God is good – all the time!

  645. Heather Boss says:

Hello! I am so excited to start this journey. I have struggled with weight loss for years now. I know that I an a stress eater and I turn to God over food. It’s been my comfort, rather than God. I am excited to change my thinking and lifestyle.

  646. I work with ladies ages 23-34 at my church. We recently studied ” Unglued” as a group and lives were changed and motivated. I signed up for this study for 2 reasons: the first reason is to help myself draw nearer to our Lord and effectively be a better leader. The second is because my girls received so much from the last study by Lisa, that I felt this might be a great choice for our next study. No better way to find out than me doing it myself. Thank you for making this possible online. I would love to receive these materials.

  647. mindi griffin says:

I signed up for the MTC study for many reasons. I have been overweight most of my adult life since I started having children. I was on a good path of diet and exercise last year but due to medical reasons I had to stop. I have spent the last few minutes in bed or a wheelchair. Between little exercise and large doses of steroids, I am at an all time high on my weight. I’m at a point that I never said I would get to. This year I want to first get closer to God and second become more healthy and loose the weight. I believe this study will motivate and encourage me with both. I will turn 45 this year and I want it to be my best year ever. I have spent the last 4 years missing out on life with my family. I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Bless you all in your journey.

  648. Jerilynn Reiman says:

    Hi my name is Jeri.
I am a 48 year young stay at home mother of a very active 10 year old.
I signed up for MTC Bible Study because I am done craving food. I am done craving acceptance from everywhere else accept the One that matters my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I am hoping through this study I can learn to crave Him and not food to satisfy me.
God Bless all the ladies I have joined on this journey and may we have an awesome journey.

  649. Delia Macias says:

Thanks for offering yet another OBS! I this is my third time signing up, although I don’t always get to follow along I been reading my books and I am almost done with MTC so I should be able to follow along with the Bible Study this time and not fall behind! Wish me luck! God Bless you all who are participating! I pray that you all get what you need out of this Bible Study!

  650. Olivia B. says:

I signed up for MTC because I loved the book but really wanted to work through it with other women. I READ it but don’t feel as though I applied it sufficiently to my life. By going slower and really WORKING through the book with others, I am confident that I will grow closer to the Lord and learn to turn to Him instead of food to deal with my emotions.

  651. Holly Linder says:

God and I had a talk not too long ago about a lot of things, one of which was my weight. He revealed some good stuff to me about this issue of mine…

    1) He uses situations to grow people as Christians and this is an area he wanted to grow me. So I said “literally?” and he laughed (we joke all the time with each other) and said no it is to show me that this is another area I need to be obedient to him. I need to stop trying to control the situation and rest in him to take care of me in that area (for his yoke is easy and his burden is light).

    2) I had put too much focus on outward appearances for a long time. He told me that I need to start on the inside beauty and the outside would follow. His word is the food that is to feed my soul!

    3) He wanted me to be happy in any situation. I can’t let situations determine my contentedness. If that were the case I would never be happy! If I can be happy where I am at any time then that’s another area that Satan can’t control me.

So that was my day of revelation with the Lord, and what led me to sign up for MTC. I am super excited to start it!!!

  652. Mary Wood says:

I love the Made to Crave book! The simple truth that God made me to crave – it has brought such freedom to my life. For so many years, I have felt that I had to “stop” the craving in order to be successful. Understanding that God doesn’t want me to stop the craving but direct the craving to Him changed my spiritual perspective. Looking forward to seeing what He is going to reveal to me this time around.

  653. Leisa Patrick says:

I am so excited about this Bible study – I sincerely want to draw closer to my Lord and Savior. I know he desires me to view my body as His temple and to be careful what I crave for it!

  654. I need to turn to god and not food- I am really terrible at that!

  655. I joined the MTC OBS for so many reasons! First and foremost, I am at an unhealthy place in my life where I have gained 20 pounds in the past two years. (My children are 6 and 8 so it’s not from pregnancy) I have almost no energy and the loss of energy leaves me feeling depressed and defeated. I KNOW without a doubt that this is NOT where God wants me to be! He created me for so much more and I want to learn how to stop hurting my body with the help of the only One who knows me inside and out! I have done one other OBS through Proverbs 31 and having a place to communicate with others who are going through the same experiences is so motivating! I can’t wait to get started and to overcome this feeling of defeat!

  656. Lori Sissum says:

I have had an eating disorder all of my life. Looking back I see that it was the only comfort I had while being sexually abused in a non-Christian household during my entire childhood. I carried that burden with me wherever I went for 46 years. Reading Lysa’s book was life changing. Finally….someone gets me. I’m not alone. There’s so many of us who use food to coat the hurts, the anxieties, the loneliness…but now I see that it’s not food I crave. It’s Jesus. Wow, it just all made sense. Only he can give me what I truly crave.

  657. I’m 6o years old and an RN by profession, though I haven’t worked in the field for almost 10 years. Through a series of events that could have only been orchestrated by God, I was led to learn about essential oils. Since I started on that path almost 2 years ago, I have gradually recovered from thyroid issues and adrenal fatigues and through this whole time have become closer to God than ever before. In listening to a webinar last week about my essential oil company’s weight loss line of natural products, I realized that since I’m “almost better”, it was finally time to really get serious about losing the weight that has been so hard to lose because of my health issues. So I had my son take “before” pictures and began using the products and lost my first pound within a day. And a day later I gained two, after a supper from Chipotle. I was already feeling discouraged, and then last evening, because I couldn’t find anything good to watch on TV, I started cruising Facebook, and in my feed, learned about this Bible Study. I read The Bible in a year last year, and have been searching for how to continue the amazing feeling I had of God being in my presence every day. I thought: “of course He wants to be with me on this continuing journey to wellness!”. The Proverbs 32 Made to Crave online Bible study is just what God has for me, personally, to keep me close to Him. Thank you!

  658. My One Word for 2014 is REAL. I want to get real in every area of my life – my relationship with God, my relationship with others, and my relationship with mysel
