I am thankful for the breath I am given to live each day the way the Lord has planned for me. πŸ™‚ I may fail in my own eyes but it’s great to know that I can never let God down! Thank you Lord! πŸ™‚

  5. I am so thankful for Group 64!! They are a blessing to me. I’m thankful for you two, Melissa and Nicki!! I’m glad you feel better Nicki

      God Bless,

  6. I am thankful that I can be certain that God will work all things together for good. So many things lately that have been uncertain to me or felt like they weren’t the way I expected have come together in ways that were so much better than I imagined. He is teaching me that His ways are better and my heart has such new peace.

    • Amen Rachel. God’s ways are not our ways…but Oh, how great his ways truly are! Praying for you as the Lord continues to reveal his way to you, and as you encounter various uncertainties or struggles, may you continue to rest in this new hope and peace that he has given you, trusting in his plan!

  7. Stephanie Jones says:

I’m thankful for your message this morning! Most importantly, I’m thankful that God is with me on this life long journey. God is showing me more of Him and He is revealing to me through His Word that it’s about Him!

  8. I’m thankful that God has always provided not only me, but my family with food. How blessed we are to live in a country where people not only have but we have it abundance! Thank you Jesus! We are a blessed nation!

    • Shonnie, this is so true! And I love that you have shared this here. Here we are doing all that we can to avoid certain foods, which is beneficial, but your praise for food, abundant food, has got me thinking. Sometimes we become so focused on the good foods and the bad foods and we forget that somewhere in this world is a woman just like me–a wife, a mom, maybe an employee–who is starving. Oh how she would love a deep fried piece of Tilapia!!! πŸ™‚ Yes Lord Jesus, we praise you for the abundance that you have given us! We are unworthy, and yet you shower us with blessings!

  9. I am so thankful that God does not give up on me, like I give up on me! Thankful for His word — these verses speak volumes when you break them down and truly see that there is ACTION to be taken, which is what life is all about. Praying God will give us the desire to put the “right reasons” into our Action Plan. God is good all the time!

I am thankful that I get to breathe air for yet another beautiful day! That I woke up to see this day that The Lord has made. I am thankful for so many things but that was the first thing I thought of.

    • Johanna (OBS Group 36) says:

What an amazing first thought to have!! When I first heard the question, I thought of God’s love, then my daughters, and my family, and the thoughts went on an on because like you, I am thankful for so many things!! God is amazing and blesses us with many many things!!!

  17. Danielle Mackley says:

Wow did you ever hit home in the video this am. Losing weight for the wrong reason. I have always been told, “you were born with big genes, you won’t ever be able to change that.” I have wanted to prove my family wrong, I have wanted to show my hubby I can do this and look great. I should be doing this because God wants my heart. He wants me to be healthy, he wants me to be able to do His service and His will. Talk about conviction. My hubby just the other day said he was nervous for me. Like he was anticipating my failure. He is a good man but I don’t believe he realized the power of his words because right then I caught myself saying in my head – well I’ll prove him wrong.
Sorry God for not doing this for the right reason. Forgive me and change my heart.
Thanks also to Nikki, I love your challenge. I to will join you in changing my prayers. Only praise items this week.
I am thankful for my family who loves me (no matter what my size) and for a God who loves and protects me.

  44. Katy Haagen says:

I am thankful that God’s love never fails, it never gives up on me. No matter where I am at in this food struggle, and no matter how many times I “mess” up, he loves me. Praise you oh God for you are worthy!!!

  45. I’m thankful for God using MTC to confirm for me the work that He began in my heart back in September regarding my over-eating and need for obedience to Him in that area. I praise Him and thank Him for the Holy Spirit’s conviction, His ever-present help in times of trouble, and amazing grace…because I’m a slow learner!

  46. I am thankful that in 33 days I will being getting my knees replaced. This study has helped me be positive at times that have been very depressing…. I love being in God’s word. I am a loved child of God.

    • I will pray that your recovery time will be very fast and that your new knees will carry you many places! You are not alone.

  47. I’m not sure if you’ve heard of Ann Voskamp and her book 1000 gifts, but she does an amazing job of outlining why we need to live a life of thankfulness. If you don’t have her book or have never been to her website I highly recommend her. So anyway, I do my “thankfuls” every night where I reflect on the day and write down what I’m thankful for. At the end of the month I have a snapshot of my life and what I’m grateful to God for. SO, today, I’m thankful that I woke up when my alarm went off so I could get my whole Bible Study in before I had to start getting ready for work. It’s the little things!

    • Very good practice. Thank you for sharing!

    • Jill, I am right there with you! I have 1000 Gifts and my joy journal sitting right next to my P31 OBS materials. Practicing the art of eucharisteo–thanksgiving! Amen. Amen.

    • Charlotte Richardson says:

Jill I was thinking the same thing, about being thankful even for the little things that seem so insignificant, but they are a reflection of the bigger picture.

I am thankful for an easy substitute teaching position today that has allowed me to spend quiet time with the Lord.

  48. I am so thankful it is not -25 anymore and so thankful for Nikki and Melissa and their attitudes!

  49. I’m thankful for the nice weather we are having right now and being able to get outside without five layers of clothes on.

  50. katfish41a says:

I think there is a difference between Praise and thanking God. David praises God in many of his Psalms. Hannah Praises God in 1Sammuel. In the prayer Jesus gave his disciples He praises as well as thanks. “Holy be your name” is a praise phrase. God is the Creator of the universe, destroyer of nations. The Alpha and Omega. I praise His name. And I am thankful to be His child.

  51. I am thankful for the Lord’s healing grace for my body! He has brought me through so many trials, and even though I fail Him daily, He never gives up on me!

  52. I am thankful that I am never alone in this journey and that all I have to do is press in to my Jesus. I am thankful for the sunshine that gives me hope of new life coming with the Spring.

  68. Iam thankful for the gift of today, for my faith, for the privelege and blessing of motherhood, for a husband who loves me despite my quirks and imperfections, for each of my four children, and for my body which God has entrusted to me!

  69. I am thankful today for life, for the love of God, for God’s love for me and all of us on earth (and wherever?). I also thank Him that I happened to see a reference to “Made to Crave” which started me on my journey to health. Praise be to God!

  70. Jean Buist says:

I’m thankful for God’s grace and mercies. Also thankful to Him for setting me free from bondage. I always like to say ” Love came down, and grace poured out”. Welcome back Nicki, you were truly missed . Will continue to keep both you and Melissa uplifted in prayer. Blessings, Jean

  71. I am thankful to know I have so many blessings, I cannot count them all! I am thankful for physical health today – to be able to dress myself. I am thankful for electricity!! I am thankful for godly women God has created and allowed to be a part of my life journey – thank you ladies of Proverbs 31 Ministries!!

  72. Today I am thankful for something not a lot of others think about…I am thankful for adoption. What a wonderful process! I praise God for leading us down this path and to our adoption agency that listened not only to our words, but to our hearts as well. And for bringing us to our birth mother, for whom I could never express my thankfulness enough. Because of God speaking to her our family is complete. I still at times look in disbelief at my 2 beautiful toddlers running around the house, full of the Lord’s spirit, tears filling my eyes as i remember our long journey. How God never left our side, though I thought He did. By God’s hand I have been incredibly blessed, with all 3 of our children. And for that I rejoice!

    • Jean Buist says:

Rejoicing with you Candy. Praising God for His promise ” Never will I leave you or forsake you”. All is done in His timing. God is so good. Thank You so much for sharing. He has truly blessed all of you. Blessing’s, Jean

  73. I’m so thankful for God’s presence and protection…with both of my girls who are away at school, with my job, with every part of my life. Thank you Lord for your faithfulness.

    • Amen! I am also thankful for God’s protection for me and my family. When family is far away, it sometimes is hard not to worry about their safety and well-being. I am so thankful that we serve a God who cares about each of these worries and a God who protects our loved ones.

  74. Not a day goes by that I can’t praise God and be thankful because no matter what is happening in our lives, there is always much to be thankful about. Today I am thankful for all of Proverbs 31 and on-line Bible studies and all the things I have learned in EVERY study. This one tops it off to FINALLY bring my heart where it needs to be with food. Thank you Melissa, Nicki, Jamie, Shelly and Angie for all you do to minister to us every single day pouring out God’s love.. Love your hearts and thanking God for you this morning.

  75. Caroline says:

Good morning! I am thankful for Jesus Christ. Through Him I have been set free!!

  76. Lori Jackson says:

I am SO thankful that God led me to this study and to Proverbs 31. For it was his doing, because I was searching for something to help me with my weight after already asking God to help me and show me the right way, and somehow I found this study right before it started. Hmmm I’d say it was all God and I Praise Him for this!

This is a great video and so convicting. Even though I have felt so much more connected to God this time, I still fall into the trap of comparisons and saying things like “i want to lose weight before my baby’s first birthday’ and those sort of superficial reasons. What I want is to be in the center of God’s will and just consume food and not let food consume me! THat’s it. I am now at the place of I didn’t put this weight on overnight, and it won’t come off overnight. THere are no long term quick fixes! So I press on with God’s help and yours and know that losing slowly is the key to success. And I’m happy with that and happy with myself for the accomplishments I’ve made over the past 2 weeks and God’s grace and direction in this journey.

    Have a great day!

  77. Robbyn R French says:

I am thankful for the Cross and Jesus sacrifice, love, mercy, grace and forgiveness. Once I embraced the cross and Jesus everything else fell into place.

  78. I am grateful for God’s purpose in my life. I know you said “one” thing, but I found it hard to stop at one, once I started! I am grateful for the focus of that purpose, my daughter. I am grateful that God kept coming after me, even though I kept running from Him. I’m with you Nicki, 7 days – nothing but Praise!

  79. Leigh powell says:

    My children and husband.

  80. I am so incredibly thankful that my Heavenly Father loves me enough that He prepared my heart to receive the message of Made To Crave! I bought the book on sale several years ago, but it has been sitting in my bookshelf since then. Praise God I read about the OBS and decided to do it. I was lamenting the fact that I hadn’t read the book sooner because it has literally changed my heart and life, and He reminded md that He was preparing me for this very message. Sooo thankful for His leading!

  81. Good morning M2C ladies (and gentlemen). I am so very thankful for the God who resides in me – who opens my eyes and my heart to His Word that is alive and meant for ME! Be blessed in your day. πŸ™‚

  82. I am thankful that I was unable to narrow down what I am thankful for to just one thing. I guess I am especially thankful for the wisdom He gives.

  83. I am thankful for the opportunity to be at home with my son!

  84. I am thankful for hearing God’s beautiful voice this week! It truly is food for my whole being, I can’t get enough! Leaning into this craving is feeling so right, and leaning away from my worldly cravings is feeling so freeing!!! Praise God!!! Love to all you sisters!!!

  85. So thankful for the two of you and your faithfulness! So thankful I’m making progress and growing in knowledge and wisdom.

  86. Jennifer Gearheart says:

I am thankful for God leading me to this study and my OBS Group 68!!!
So glad you are feeling better Nicki!! I will join you on your weekly praise challenge. Only praises this week!!

  87. I am thankful for hearing this message this morning and for the challenge of just Praising Him for the next 7 days and not ask for anything!

  88. Good morning. I am thankful The Lord does not give up on me, He is with me everyday.
When others may give up or turn away, HE NEVER DOES.

I felt like y’all were talking too me this morning. I have lost 25 pounds and my doctor was so excited, I’m excited. People are telling me I look so much better and healthier and it makes me want to keep on, but am I keeping on for Him or for Them. Thank you for my reminder. It needs to be for Him.

    Have a wonderful day everyone.

  89. Jennifer says:

I am thankful that God never gives up on me.

  90. Thankful for God’s mercy daily portion!
Nikki, I have been pondering what to give up while observing Lent season. When I saw the memory verse fir this week, I felt in my spirit to give up complaining and replace it with praise and thanksgiving…… After I heard you this morning, I felt my heart skip a best; I am joining you in Praising God!
Thank you Melissa and Nikki for your encouragement and happy beautiful faces!!!!

  91. Vickie Massey says:

Well this really spoke to me. Lately I have been going the grief of losing my husband in Nov. I have been having a lot of pity parties. Losing weight, has always been a thought in the front of my thinking since I was 6 yrs. old I have been told I was fat. I wanted to lose weight for my husband of 40+ yrs. As a matter of fact when we learned that he was passing that was one of the first thing that crossed my mind. I did not ever lose this weight for him. It was a big disappointment to me. Not my husband, he wanted me to be healthy but not skinny. So, I exercised and kept my weight at a steady number. (Again about numbers) When we found out he had cancer I stopped exercising for the most part and gained 30 extra lbs. Since his passing I am still working on that 30 lbs. I have not been as successful as I would like.

I have several things to be thankful for: 1. I went to the Dr. yesterday and I am basically a healthy person. I had not been in 2 yrs. to see him. 2. My husband has left me well taken care of by friends and family. 3. I have a home and food on my table, I am not destitute as some widows find themselves when their husband pass. 4. I have found wonderful friends doing the P31 OBS who have just taken me under their wings and prayed for me.

I know that there is a lot more but I won’t put them on today.

    • Thank you for sharing, Vickie! I am praying for you as you continue on this journey. Praise God for your clean bill of health!

  92. I am thankful that His love never fails, never gives up, never runs out on me.

  93. Rebecca in FL says:

I am grateful God led Lysa on her journey, and she didn’t even have her book to guide her through! I’m grateful for smart phones which led to me reading Bible plans off of the YouVersion app (which those guys offer freely for God’s glory) & consequently finding this study and these women at P31! What a gift from God. I’m grateful to be in a Bible study again, something I had about given up on due to the time constraints of being a single mom. God is so good and His Name is to be greatly praised!

  94. I’m thankful that God is my Heavenly Father and He loves me no matter what. I do not have to earn His love. I cannot do anything to lose (or gain) His love. He loves me with His perfect love.

  95. I am thankful for my family. I love them so much. I am thankful for OBS and MTC. I have never participated in an online bible study before. My weight loss has been very slow… Despite this outcome , I feel so much closer to The Lord through reading the book, the blog, and the comments posted. Praise to God whose love never fails and never gives up on me. OBS ministry is a blessing !!

  96. Martha Brewer says:

    I am thankful for Jesus.

  99. Crystal Carson says:

I am so thankful for the reminder that a setback is the setup for a comeback! I was feeling down yesterday that I slacked lady week and didn’t go to the gym as much as I had hoped. Then I ate a small bag of chips to comfort me at lunch. I went straight to the gym And started again. Everyday is a new day to start in God’s sweet Grace!!

  100. I’m thankful for finding this study, it has opened my eyes and heart to the will of God and becoming the “being” he wants me to be, not doing what he wants me to do πŸ™‚

  101. I am thankful for this study and that God can help me through this journey and I am not doing it alone. I am also thankful for the 50 degree weather, although cold and more snow is on the way :(!

  104. I know this is more than one, but πŸ™‚ I’m thankful for God being my foundation, my comforter, my strength, my healer, my everything in my life . God has blessed me with my wonderful husband going on 37 years , we have been through so many trials, but God has always been there right beside us helping us to make it through them. God has blessed me with 3 wonderful unique children and 1 granddaughter. We all have our trials, problems, but God is and has always been there, to see us through it, guide us through it, heal us through it.

  105. I’m thankful for this amazing body that God has blessed me with. It’s a wonderful creation that has the ability to heal itself with the right love and caring.

  106. Virginia says:

What am I thankful for? Well, of course, the first thing that came to my mind was I am thankful for my Godly husband, but following right on the tail of that thought was, I am thankful for you two ladies. You are the first thing I did when I got out of bed, got my coffee and sat down to see what was in my “magic box” of email. You made me smile! I am so grateful for that. To start my day, smiling and realizing there is joy in my heart, well, I am thankful for that. I’m thankful that this is not a diet, my life is changing because of this study. I’m thankful that I have recorded the conference calls so I can go back and listen again to good counsel. So, God bless y’all with a grace-filled day.

  107. Tracy (OBS Small Group Leader) says:

  111. I am ever thankful for the gift of sight, that I can see God’s work and beauty around me.

  112. Well- I am thankful for you ladies and the videos that you post! I have lots of knowledge about how to loose weight and I appreciate all the expertise that Dr. Chilton is bringing but the BEST part of the study for me is you ladies and how you bring your heart to this. Thanks so much for the honest sharing you do. I am so motivated to keep my focus on this journey and do it for all the right reasons- to Bring God Praise and Glory. This has been the best best best way for me to keep a steady, live giving, daily motivation to be healthy- not a crazy week- not eat this or that diet. I see the benefits in my body but mostly in my spirit. Thanks you ladies for OLB- I am hooked !

  113. I’m so thankful for the freedom to home educate our four kids, for the beautiful spring day and BBQ with our family, for my husband and sons building a chicken coop, for the glorious views from our new home, for the ability to praise you for breath and life today!

  114. Marlis Neilson says:

I am thankful for the “Made To Crave” book. It has given me a who new way of thinking about the foods I put into my body. The statement, “We were made to consume food, not let food consume us.” It is a daily struggle but through the love of our Savior all things can be accomplished!

  115. Tanya Judd says:

I am thankful for this ministry and Group 44!!

  118. I am so thankful for God and his amazing grace:-)

  119. I am thankful that He is a LOVING God and He made me His child.

  120. I’m so thankful for this study, the conference calls, my small group, and my family for their continued support. This time I feel so different about the weight loss journey because I am seeking Him. The rest is just the icing on the cake (is there some celebratory metaphor that doesn’t include delicious sweets???). Thank you, Lord, for opening my eyes and my heart!

  121. I am thankful for this Bible study, so glad you are feeling well Nicki, and thank you for opening my eyes to see that now I am doing this for the right reason. I am thankful for the many blessings God sends my way. Praise His Holy Name!!!!!!

  122. I am thankful for God’s love and grace in the light of His precious Word.

  123. Welcome back, Nicki! I am so thankful to God for my loving husband. He thinks I am beautiful just the way I am. Somedays I wish I could see me through his eyes. He wants me to be well and after talking about some of the things from week 1 and the video from yesterday, he is willing to join me on this new healthy lifestyle.

  124. I am thankful for God having saved me from myself! I am my own worst enemy but by doing this MTC study i am realizing my identity in Christ. I am precious, loved, redeemed, set free, victorious, an overcomer!

  125. Laurie Piper says:

I am thankful that I am learning not only how to eat more healthy foods, but also how to be still and know that God is with me each step of the way. Thank you, God!

  126. I’m thankful for online Bible studies in general but especially M2C! I love being able to do the study in my own time and meet with the ladies when it fits my schedule. Especially thankful for M2C since it is teaching me and helping me to make the changes necessary to live a life for Christ. I’m a work in progress but I’m moving in the right direction. =)

  127. Thank you for that great reminder! I am so grateful that God not only chose me but He doesn’t give up on me. Even though I may not be where I would like to be, I am closer to being what He wants me to be than I was yesterday, or last week, or last year. Thank you, God.

  128. I am so thankful for God’s grace. As I was journaling this morning, I was telling God how overwhelmed I was with everything going on in my life. 24 hours in a day just does not cut it. I was even having trouble finding time to pray and read my bible. But I have noticed that even though I have been losing my focus, he was constantly putting little blessings and reminders in my path that he loved me and that he was there beside me. How faithful is our God!!!!

  129. Michelle says:

I am thankful that my heart is starting to feel settled in the new area God moved us to 9 months ago even though I have not yet made new friends. I am thankful that God has opened a door for us to buy a house after renting for these 9 months. This looked impossible and God works best in my impossible situations.

    • Michelle, I am praying for you as you make a life in a new place. Change is hard. And being the one who has to take all the first steps to finding and bonding with new people is challenging. “Lord God may You continue to open the doors for Michelle to make this new life situation a fulfilling experience for herself and her family. Walk with her each day toward settling in and making new friends in this new place. Amen”

  130. I am thankful for Melissa and Nicki’s message this morning. I needed to renew in my mind why I am doing this weight loss and healthy eating plan. The primary reason is to be healthier – to relieve my back pain and chest pain. The back is because of arthritis deterioration and the chest pain is due to eating wrong foods. I know that I cannot do this on my own. Foremost I need to call on God every day and hour to guide and strengthen me in this journey. “Lord God, I am a loved child of You. And I praise Your Name as You are the MOST HIGH GOD whom I turn to for my reason for being. I am thankful that You love me enough to care about my health. And I am thankful for my walk with You every day. Amen”

  131. I am thankful for God’s grace in my life. He is always there, he goes before me, and follows me. He is always beside me.

    • Thank you Judee. Your comment made me look up the scripture: The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8 And then I found myself singing these verses from the song Whom Shall I Fear by Chris Tomlin from the album Burning Lights:
I know who goes before me
      I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies is always by my side
      The One who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies is always by my side

  132. I am so thankful that God doesn’t let me fall when I so need Him. I have been very overwhelmed with things this week and last night I asked for strength. I was clearly told to sit with no distractions and get done what needs to be done! I finished what needed to be done and am more at peace this morning. I am so thankful for so many things they’re too many to mention in this post but I praise God!

    • God is so good! Reminded me of this verse: “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all” 2 Thes. 3:16

I will be praying for peace for you, Donna.

  133. Elsie Daly says:

I am thankful for OBS!! and the reason I am doing this study is to learn how to be healthy plus remain in God’s word. The Bible is full of places where it tells you what we can and cannot eat. God already gave us our food. Man made all the junk! I think I’ll stick to God’s food. (Some people are even messing with that! πŸ™ )

  134. Sabrina Ebert says:

Firstly thank you Jesus for laying down your life for me…for salvation, a precious gift that requires nothing in return.

I am also thankful for the many blessings that have come my way. I look into my daughter’s beautiful face and I am reminded that God gave her to me on the brink of sinking into a pit depression after trying to conceive for two years.
I look into the face of my husband and I am thankful that God has helped us through cancer and that he is alive, well and now saved.
I look at me and I am thankful for my belly that is growing with new life.

I look at the posts from other women and I am reminded over and over again that God is in control, that the steadfast love of The Lord never ceases, His mercies are new every morning, great is His faithfulness!

  135. I am thankful for a supportive and loving husband who models the love of Christ and loves me no matter what size, mood or circumstance we may find ourselves in.

  136. I am so thankful for my family! So thankful that God has brought this study to me through a friend and that I can share it with my sister. Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

  137. Bonnie Johnson says:

I am so thankful that I am healthy enough to exercise and that
G-d has led me to Made to Crave OBS and the wonderful messages you bring to encourage me on becoming a better steward of my mind, body and spirit. Blessings!

  138. Cassie Connin says:

I am thankful that God loves me no matter what! He doesn’t tolerate my sin and will forgive me and set me straight. He walks with me in all that I do to guide me in His path according to His wonderful will. I am learning that I am worthy.

  139. Terri Satterwhite says:

Great challenge! I am thankful for my family!

  140. I am so thankful to God for listening to my prayers and caring about every detail in my life. I am thankful for the message that God loves me because I am his daughter and not because of what I do or don’t do.

  141. SO thankful for God’s love, grace and mercy!

  142. Today, and everyday, I am thankful for good health for myself and my family. We are blessed in so many ways, but this one is forefront in my mind today.

I also wanted to share a quote I’ve seen online that came to mind while listening to the message today:

Comparison is the thief of joy.

I think this is so true. We must not compare ourselves to others.

    • Ah! This is so true! Thank you for sharing this quote, Amy. How often do we allow other people and things to steal our joy, just because we compare our lives to theirs and we don’t like where we line up. God has constantly been reminding me that He has me RIGHT WHERE I AM for a reason. Even if I think I want more or I’m jealous of someone who looks better than me, I need to remember…. I am here for a reason.

  143. Hope Fielder says:

I am thankful for a restored relationship with my 21 year old daughter. God is faithful and cares about details even we don’t think about!! Glory to God!

  144. Christine Bruneau says:

I will definitely take on the 7 – day challenge of Praising God in my thankfullness. However I would like to start with yesterday and my visit to the doctor for some suspicious nodes seen on my thyroid. I tried so very hard to not worry, but Satan had a pretty strong influence over my fear.
I was over – whelming with thanks to God for the “better than perfect” bill of health from the doctor!
This morning, I am thankful for my job of 22 years.
God has blessed me with many good things!

    • I am praying for you today, Christine. Praise God for a clean bill of health and a job of 22 years. God is good!

  145. First, I just have to say I see Christ’s beauty shining out though you both, and I thank The Lord with you for what he is doing in and through you and this ministry. Secondly, in the last couple weeks of this study and the original made to crave study I was focusing on some places in my life other than my eating , but still very much to do with setting goals and living for The Lord. In the process of the prayer time I was compelled to confess my want for acceptance and trying to get it in the ways I have believed would bring that. The Lord was showing me that I wanted to be accpeted as I was, or as the world says one can be accepted. These ways are not his ways. So as I was praying this thought was pressing in a number of times that every cell in my body wants to cry out before God saying He is God! He is worthy! Follow Jesus ! All of me was created, knit together by him and for him and yet here I am seeking acceptance through means that are not of him. I can’t thank God enough for this thought process and what he will do with it in me .

  146. I am thankful for my husband and two grown children- God answered that prayer request of mine many years ago!

  147. I want to praise God that He is willing to close doors that I want opened, even if it disappoints me horribly.

    • Praise God that we can see past the closed doors. God is so good. He loves us so much that He is willing to close doors we want open only to provide something so much greater than we could ever imagine. I am praying for you today, Jo.

  148. Melissa Warner says:

Awesome video, one thing I am so grateful for is that I’m not in a place of recovering from a surgery. In the past 2 years I had foot surgery 8 months later shoulder surgery because I hurt myself 3 days after foot surgery, and 8 months after that a full hysterectomy. So as you can tell I am elated that I feel great, my friend recently said the other day it is ridiculous that I have healed so quickly and went back to work within a few weeks of each one. I give Jesus all the Glory for that. I’m not that good. He is an awesome God.

  149. I am so thankful for Proverbs 31 Ministries and Elevation Church! They have been my lifeline since moving to a new state with no family (except my hubby of course and he is overwhelmed with his new responsibilities at work) and no friends a few months ago. I have gone to a local church but I can’t get there regularly and am having a hard time getting connected.

  150. I am thankful for my cat, Cat. Sounds cheesey, but she is my friend when no one else is around. She’s sitting with me this morning as I do my bible study.

  151. Deb Adams says:

I am thankful for the beautiful sunshine and warm weather. I know we’ll get more cold weather before Spring arrives officially but I will enjoy this weather while we have it.

    • Amen! I too am thankful for the sun, any time we get it! We are so blessed to live in a world surrounded by such beauty.

  152. I am so very thankful that He looks at the heart and not our outward appearance. I am so thankful that he loves so deeply and isn’t concerned with what title we hold or how much money we have or don’t have! Praising him todaybecause He is who He says He is!! Going to join Nicki in praising him 7days! Great is thy faithfulness! #Crave God#,#EatSmart

  153. I thank God for the promise of springtime!

  154. Lois Culler says:

I’m thankful that God loves me UNCONDITIONALLY no matter what my weight or shape, and that He loves me enough to encourage me to improve my health by providing so much support. He’s not disappointed in me when my scale is stuck.

    • Amen! I love what was said in the extra interview with yesterdays video regarding when Jesus was baptized. Mark 1:11 “You are my beloved Son, with you I am well pleased”. You see, God was pleased with Jesus before He even completed any miracles or saved anyone. God loves us and is pleased with us for just being! Yes, he wants us to be successful, but He is still pleased with us when things don’t go quite our way. I’m praying for you today, Lois!

  155. I am thankful for my dogs. I am a widow and sometimes feel very lonely, but my 2 little dogs love to cuddle. They are both rescues and I feel sent to me by God! Thank you, Lord!!!!

  156. Like most of us, I am thankful for SO many things… but the first thing that came to mind today is: I’m thankful for God’s protection and His timing! So often He’s put me in the right place at the right time– from finding the Made to Crave OBS at a time that I was finally ready to make a change, to going thru a tricky intersection this morning just after a minor accident happened and having a gracious, observant driver in the lane next to me who allowed me to quickly dart to their lane to avoid hitting the stopped cars! Each day, He reminds me: my life is NOT a series of coincidences- God knows exactly what He’s doing! πŸ™‚

  157. I’m thankful that the weather is above freezing here in northern WI and hopeful that the 3 feet of snow in my backyard is beginning to melt!

  158. I am thankful for His LOVE, GRACE, MERCY & Abundant BLESSINGS in my life! Praise God! Amen!

  159. I am thankful God led me to Proverbs 31 and the loving community of woman who give me so many options to learn about God and myself.

  160. Kathie Waters says:

I too am thankful for God in my life, and that he is everywhere in my life! I am thankful for his abundant grace that sees me through every season of my life… And thankful for the reminder to SAY thanks! πŸ˜‰

  161. Robin Wahlstrom says:

I am thankful that all three of my children know Jesus as their Savior! πŸ™‚

  162. Among the wonderful things God has given me, I include all the great SPICES that I can put on vegetables to make them so tasty and satisfying; Garlic tops the list…:)

  163. I am thankful for so many things that it would take a day to write them all down. However, right at this moment in my life I would say that I am thankful for the Made to Crave bible study. This has really put me in the center of God’s will and seeking Him. I thought I already had a close connection with God, but this study has just taken it to a deeper level and I am loving that so much. So, I am thankful for getting to know God more and more.
Thank you to all involved in putting the Made to Crave bible study.

  164. Although, I am not one of those who just love exercise (wish I did), I am very thankful that I am able to walk/jog now. Due to knee injuries/ surgery, 6 months ago I was unable to exercise due to the pain. God has allowed me to be able to!! I praise Him for that! May I not take it for granted.

  165. Linda Mott says:

I am thankful for a God Who loves spite of who I am, because I know Whose I am! Praise His Holy and Matchless Name!

  166. So much I am thankful for. I ran the LA marathon last Sunday. It was a life changing journey, I actually wrote a blog about it. I am so thankful that I am able to run! I love running!

  167. Robyn Seamon says:

I am so thankful for Proverbs 31 ministry! I am thankful for Melissa, Nicky, Lisa and everyone else that has made this journey possible for us! I am thankful for the Made to Crave Study and now the Action Plan and the focus on Jesus!! I am so thankful that this has all come together at this time in my life to help me lose the extra pounds for the right reasons and have tools and insights to help me stay at a healthy weight once I get there for His Glory!!!
I am SOOOOOO THANKFULL!! Yes, I have many things to worry, stress and complain about if I let myself, but I am thankful for thankfulness!!!

  168. Virginia says:

I am thankful for this study. I am reminded that God is for us! I am going to work on being joyful !

  169. I am so grateful to God for the new life He has breathed into my marriage! Over this past weekend He lead us to a married couples’ retreat and He took my husband’s defensiveness and He took my disappointment. Of course, we have to keep laying them down. Praise You, Jesus!

  170. I am thankful for today’s video. It was exactly what I needed to hear this morning! God is SO good to me–to all of us–and we are so short-sighted in our praise and gratitude. Whatever my circumstances, throughout this day and this week, I will praise God and be thankful for the place I am in!

  171. I am very grateful to God for saving me and giving me grace the last 22 years of my life. He has never given up on me even when I am feeling really bad about myself. I am very grateful for my 18 year old daughter, who is graduating from high school in June and going off to college. I will continue to be grateful and give praise for discovering Proverbs 31 ministry, it has allowed me to have a deeper relationship with the Lord.

  172. Mary Weiss says:

.I am thankful for God’s healing.
Twelve weeks ago I fell, broke both of my left ankle bones and had to have surgery. This experience opened my eyes to so many things that I am thankful for like walking and being independent.
    I am nearly healed now!
    Praise God

  173. Lord, thank you so much for the peace, laughter, and joy you brought to my family last night after a long drought. You are amazing! Thank you for working in my heart and mind every day to mold me into the person you want me to be. I love you with all my heart, mind, soul, and strength!

  174. Laurie Carpenter says:

I am so thankful for so many people in my life, including you all, that are there for words of encouragement during this struggle!

  175. I am thankful for the way God uses you two and this study to chip away at the stubborn places of my heart so they can be warm and welcoming again. Regardless of the weight, the change in my heart that has taken place over these past weeks has been totally due to more time in the word, less need to please others and more time giving praise and thanks to God for all he has done in my life.

  176. This morning I am thankful for the incredible peace that God gives in the midst of change.

  177. Cathy Crass says:

I thank God for the challenges in my life (including weight), because it keeps me turning towards him and keeps me humble….I can’t do life on my own…I need him…thanks be to God!

I am thankful for the strength from God that has allowed me to open my mind and heart to the information and encouragement from OBS and through that I am becoming a healthier me!

  179. I am thankful for the warm spring sun. As I feel it on my shoulders, it’s like a reassuring touch that God is busy renewing our hearts. It draws me outside to walk and breathe in the freshness. For some reason, it makes me want to eat green things! I am thankful for spring time in my heart. β˜€οΈ

  180. I am thankful that I found Proverbs 31 and this bible study, and for the increase in my faith, and my new “Jesus girls sisters” that it has brought me.

  181. Sarah Wiley says:

So thankful for Jesus. So thankful for God’s awesome amazing power. So thankful for everything He’s teaching me and everything He is doing while He calls me to BE. And forgive me for being totally unspiritual for a moment πŸ™‚ but I’m at the moment very thankful that the two cats screeching at each other outside my window for more than 10 min have finally stopped.

  182. So blessed by this perspective this morning, and convicted. I awoke feeling exhausted and ill (this time change is kicking my butt), and the first thing I did was go to God in my prayer journal with a list of complaints and wants. Wow! Thank you Melissa and Nicki for helping me realize the negativity of my heart and the need to praise and honor Him first and foremost. So today, today I am thankful for this pending illness that humbles me before God, reminding me of my weakness, and my total dependance on his amazing strength and power. His power is made perfect in my weakness. Amen. Amen.

As for the Action Plan, and my heart, I’ll admit that my heart has not been fully engaged. I have been pushing through with a low level of commitment. Mediocrity. I’ve changed my fiber intake a little. Drinking more water. But to be honest, my heart has not been in the right place. I am convicted this morning to praise the Lord for the work he has done through Made to Crave, and the journey so many of us have come through. I truly do want to crave God more, and allow that worship to change my way of living. As my husband says, “You eat those carrot sticks to the glory of God!” πŸ™‚ Amen. Amen.

  183. Tammy Jensen says:

  185. Debra S. says:

I’m thankful for my sisters in Christ, whether next door or on YouTube in a stuffy office with a fan blowing on them, who have the courage to be real in their struggles and the love to encourage us on our journey. Thank you God!

  186. OH! this was so hard and took so long to get into my life…………the right motive for fallowing my plan. Not weight loss or approval but for God’s glory. My ‘acting’ finally caught up (at least most of the time it does) with my ‘believing’. This goes right along with my own blog today on RIGHT THINKING. Thanks ladies for your good work here on this M2C study! Have a God-blessed day! <3

  187. I am sooooo thankful for my husband

  188. OOPS! Sorry…………..RIGHT THINKING is tomorrows blog. he he I was just working on it so got ahead of myself and did some WRONG THINKING! See how it can mess ya’ up!!!!! πŸ™‚

I’m so thankful for the technology we have to share in this study with one another & God’s word!

    • Me too! What a blessing to be able to have technology to be used to bring us closer to God. It gets such a bad rap sometimes, but I am so thankful for the internet for learning and communication and face time for seeing those grandkids who are way too far away!

  191. Amritha mathew, Prayer Warrier says:

I am really grateful for everything god has taken me thru and given me too. Maybe I will take the challenge for this lent season.

  195. Today, I am grateful for so many things. I am thankful that God knows me and I know Him; I am thankful that God loves me unconditionally and He always provides everything that I need; I am so thankful that my loving husband, Corey and our four children are healthy; I am thankful that my parents and my maternal grandmother (age 94) are still alive; and I am thankful that I live in this Country where I can freely praise God without the threat of being harmed. 202. I am thankful that I have this opportunity to join other beautiful women in this journey and that, as I heard in the video yesterday, I dont have to hold God up, HE is holding me up!!

  203. I am thankful for God showing me so much through this Bible study. God has also been speaking to my heart about my lack of thanksgiving and praise. Im going to praise God for all He is doing in my life during this season instead of complain and want things to change to make it easier.Thank you so much for the encouragement!

  204. I am thankful for this study for so many reasons. It has helped me get and stay on the right path. It has opened my eyes and my heart to new things about the scripture and myself. I also am very, very, very thankful for Nicki, Melissa and each and every woman I have met through this journey. They are all sisters to me.

  205. I’m thankful for my husband. I’m also thankful for M2C OBS and the ability to learn from each other and share our journeys together.

  209. First and foremost I am grateful for God’s steadfast love and his forgiveness of my sins. I am also thankful for the love of my husband, family, and friends. And I am very grateful for this study.

  210. Lisa McDonald says:

I praise God for allowing me to find P31 OBS πŸ™‚ as it has changed my life and drawn me so much closer to Him.

    • Same here! πŸ™‚ I actually saw the M2C postings for a while before I actually realized by the Holy Spirit’s insight that I needed to do this. πŸ™‚ So very thankful now as I’ve grown so much closer to my Jesus & on such a deeper level than just face-value. πŸ™‚

  211. Breanna A. says:

I’m thankful for the Online Bible Studies and the fellowship with all of you beautiful ladies! As a work-at-home mom it can get very lonely and it is very easy to get to the end of the week and realize I have not had conversations or interactions with anyone but my 2 year old, my 7 month old and my husband when he gets home from work. I was in desperate need of some consistent time with other Jesus girls, and then I discovered Proverbs 31 OBS and I am so grateful!

    • Amen! πŸ™‚ What do you do for work at home? I’m going to be starting a home business by middle of April & am excited to be able to one day say the same you did…”work at home mom.” Thankful for that. πŸ™‚ Do you have a blog or Facebook page??

  212. I am so thankful that God brought me to this study…..and is letting me know each day how much he loves me!!! I realize now how important it is to get healthy and improve his temple in my body! Thank you!!!

  213. I’m thankful for my son, for although he has Autism, his joy in life is a daily reminder to me of the joy I should be having simply be being a daughter of The King!

  214. Nicki mentioned how she would compare herself to the other swim-Moms at the swim meets…. Comparison — who doesn’t do it? But instead of thinking we are “less than” or “more than,” we need to realize we are just “different than.”ο»Ώ

  215. I am so thankful to God for His many blessings of family, for my identity in Christ and for the truths proclaimed in this study. God is reprogramming my mind in some new ways and I am so grateful.

  216. I’m thankful for the tender mercies of a loving Heavenly Father; yesterday they came in the form of my daughter, this group, scripture reading and a loving spouse who listened and provided counsel. Thanks so much for the cheerful wake up!

  217. I am thankful for the life God has given me.

  218. I’m thankful for the work God continues to do in my heart, and I’m thankful for the wonderful gift he gave me almost 8 years ago–my husband. It was a long and bumpy road that brought us together, but God’s timing was perfect. I’m so blessed and I “praise God from whom all blessings flow”.

  219. I’m thankful that God loves me right where I am and he loves me so much that He has surrounded me with loving family and friends!

  220. I love this idea of fasting from asking and only praising Him for 7 days. The video reminded me of a post I saw on Facebook yesterday, “Talking about our problems is our greatest addiction. Break the habit. Talk about your joys.”

I want to take this challenge. I am thankful for the ability and freedom to make different choices. I am thankful for my job that allows me to provide for my family. I am thankful for my family and our health.

  221. Rosemary(OBS small group leader) says:

I am Thankful that God has once again given me a brand new day to make a difference in my own life or someone else’s through my love for him and his words, along with his grace and love for me .
[ Psalm 118 ] Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Amen.

  222. I am thankful for accountability partners – like our Made to Crave Action Plan Facebook page. I commented yesterday how I was going to try and run 5 miles as I am training for a 10k. BUT when the time came to do it, I wasn’t feeling it….ALTHOUGH I did DO IT since I told you girls I was going to do it – along with using some Go To Scripts to get myself in gear!! Have a great day everyone!!!

  223. I am thankful for the country I live in…the United States of America…where I have the freedom to worship The Lord, own a home, own a business, walk without a head covering, many options for education, just to name a few. Today I do not fear being executed for serving a risen Lord.

  224. I am thankful that my God is bigger than food. He can take my willingness to obey and make good healthy choices and make it beneficial for me. I may not be a Bio Chemist, and I may not understand Omega 3s, 4s, 5s, or 6s, but He made fruit, vegetables, meat and whole grains and told us to have dominion over all. I may not have the money or the resources to get organic, all natural, hormone free, BPA free, etc etc, but God is the master physician. He knows exactly what each little cell needs to do its job. As long as I have my face tilted up to Him, I praise him and am thankful He will work out everything for good. Love you, Jesus!

  225. Becky Cox says:

I am thankful that God loves me no matter what size I am!! I am fearfully and wonderfully made! I am also thankful for this study and God drawing me closer to Himself! Thanks Melissa and Nicki and all my OBS sisters!

  226. Terri Juliano says:

I am so very thankful for all that God has brought me through. In each trial that has come God has taught me more and more about Himself. I became a Christian when I was 21, married and pregnant with our second child. I would not have chosen the life that I have had but looking back I would not trade it for anything this world has to offer. God is so good and faithful and true and merciful and His grace is more than sufficient for me. I am just so thankful for who He is!

  227. I am thankful for Jesus,, my sisters in Christ and fresh fruits and vegetables

  228. Amy Pritz says:

I am thankful for The leaders of Proverbs 31 and their honesty and ideas. I am really asking God to help me overcome my “works” based mentality and it has been years that I’ve been hoping to overcome this. This week has seemed to strike a chord with me and I so want this so stick in my heart of who I am in Christ and that He loves me “before” I ever do anything and even when I’m knee deep in my own rabbit trails and disasters.

  229. After being snowed in all week I am thankful for a BEAUTIFUL glorious spring day!

    • For real! Here last week was cold/snowy/icy…this week spring. Yesterday was in high 60s…today is high 70s…tomorrow & the rest of the week low 40s. Ugh. Craziness with weather.

  230. I’m thankful I can talk to God about anything at any time. He never pushes me away or denies me His time. I’m also so thankful for His love and that nothing I do or don’t will change His love for me.

  231. I wish I could watch the videos but don’t have access to them. I wish you had an alternate for people like me who cannot access videos.

  232. Debby Klein says:

I am so thankful that God had lead me to this online Bible Study so I can take my eyes off of what I think is the worlds view of beauty and really focus on what god wants me to do to honor Him in all I do! Thank you for all you do for us.

    • Love this! That was a reason for me too. Beauty became more about physical outer appearance rather than the beauty God develops in my life when He’s first. πŸ™‚

  233. I am so thankful for Nikki and Melissa and for their willingness to share life with me. I’m thankful for their honesty and for serving our awesome God by letting Him use them for His will. You ladies are truly a blessing.

I’m thankful for where I am and where I’m going and that I have God with me along the way!

  235. Amanda Shipton says:

I am thankful for the perspectives this study has changed within me. I do not feel deprived. I am thankful that I am able to have these healthy choices. I am thankful that my body is strong and able to exercise. God has richly blessed me and I will praise Him with the choices I make for the temple (my body) He has given me!

  236. I am thankful for friends, near and far, known and unknown, that are taking the MTC journey with me and encouraging me and lifting me up in prayer! Love and blessings to you all, beautiful Sisters!

  237. I’m thankful that I found this study and for the things that God will show me this week through praising Him. I’m going to do the only give thanks to God this week myself, besides prayer requests other ask me to pray for πŸ™‚ but i’ll make sure to preface those with thanksgiving as well.

  238. Amy Wall (Small Group Leader/Prayer Warrior Team) says:

I am thankful for my amazing OBS sisters and friends and I praise God for bringing each one of them into my life!!

  239. I am not a failure! This phrase has been so prominent in my life this past weekend & week. I’m thankful…so thankful for that! I’ve failed so many times at different things, but God is using different things/people to remind me over & over again of this truth. God is doing some big things in my life & I’m thankful for that! In this journey to be healthy, God is blessing my life in WAY more ways than weight & food issues resolved, etc. Reminds me of this song by Sidewalk Prophets…the lyrics speak of our goal in this journey to have God #1 truly in EVERY area. πŸ™‚

  240. Katherine says:

I am thankful for my family and our health.

  241. I am so thankful for God’s faithfulness towards me and his patience with me.

I am thankful to the Lord for all the answered prayer in my life and my family’s lives….though I feel unworthy…He always provides!!!!

  243. I am thankful for my boys, Sammy and Bobby!

  244. I am thankful that I have a forgiving heavenly Father to walk on this journey with me. I have to share that I have had several people ask me if I am still losing weight ( I have been at my goal for 8 months) and I tell them no, I am refocused on my journey through a fabulous bible study (an give them more info about it), but what it has made me realize is that there is joy shining through! Praise God! Have a blessed Tuesday.

  248. I am so thankful that God is the portion of whatever I need as I’m on this journey with my food struggles and healing from my miscarriage.

  249. I’m thankful that God allowed me to have my son Joshua after 13 yrs of trying. I prayed continually for two weeks straight that I would become pregnant. I know that sounds like a short time but when I say continually I mean constantly throughout the day every day. As I started to feel symptoms of pregnancy my prayer changed to please Lord let this be true. One month after I started praying I found out I was having a baby. It was a miracle! Then my prayer changed again. I prayed Lord whatever my body goes thru please let my child be ok. I was very sick throughout the pregnancy. It was definitely not just morning sickness. I was in the hospital for two weeks jaundiced, dehydrated and with almost no potassium left but God kept my baby safe thru all of that. I had one infection after another which ultimately sent me into early labor. My son was born four weeks early. He had a couple of issues but was able to come home 5 days after he was born. He’s about to be 16 now and h’es still a perfect gift from God.

  250. I am thankful first of all for my salvation. I am also thankful for my godly husband, the family and friends with whom I share this wonderful life. I feel blessed.

  251. I am thankful for this storm that I am in because I know The Lord is going to show me who I am in Him through this journey!!

I take the challenge for the next 7 days!!!

  252. Ginger Harrison says:

I too am very thankful for this study and all those involved! God is Great! I have also been trying to praise the Lord more than a ask of him. I did not go cold turkey but I am aware of the need to praise and give thanks unto the Lord! I praise you and worship you Oh Lord God Almighty, Thank you for your graciousness in allowing all these Proverbs31 ladies to be filled with knowledge that they so lovingly share with others. In Jesus Name Amen.

  253. I am thankful for my family.

  254. I am so thankful that God loves me as I am. No matter what I do He is there to catch me if I fall. And I am thankful that Nicki and Melissa bring a smile to me face on the videos:)

  255. So thankful for the Word of God.
Thankful that I have a God to rejoice in!
Thankful that He allows me to pray and ask Him for my needs
Thankful that I have MANY things to be thankful for!

  256. Jennifer L says:

I have so many things to be thankful for its hard to just name one. I am thankful that God cares about the little things in our lives. We can ask him for something simple to help us with and He is right there taking care of stuff. When I get frustrated with just the daily junk life brings my way, I think of that Casting Crowns song…Praise you in this storm. That has become my life’s theme song! That’s what I try to do…praise God even in the tough times because he will turn that around and bless your life in ways you never thought possible.

  257. I’m thankful that the sun is shining brightly and the birds are chirping in Pennsylvania.

  258. I am thankful to celebrate 5 years of being cancer free..This Thursday! Praise God!

  260. I am thankful for a beautiful life and another day to serve Him.

  261. Thanking God today for second chances, a tool to use, a community that understands and supports me and a place of grace to rest.

  262. I am thankful that God is pleased with me for who I am and not for what I am doing! Thank you, Lord, for your unconditional love!!

  263. Linda Leighton (OBS Leadership Team) says:

Good morning friends! I am SO thankful for a loving God, who cares so much about me, that HE brought me into fellowship with such a wonderful, encouraging, giving and graceful group of women from all over the world! HE knew what I needed when I needed it, and HE guided my steps (Proverbs 16:9) to Proverbs 31! I have never been more thankful for anything in all my days! Love you all (even those of you I haven’t met yet!)! #soblessed

  264. I’m thankful for God’s gift of salvation for me! I don’t know what kind of person I would be without God in my life!

  265. I am thankful for a God who is relational…who loves us no matter what, who saved us from ourselves and set us free from sin. Thank you, Lord, for your great love, Amen.

  266. Today I am thankful for the beautiful weather outside, with bright sun and warm temperatures….a great day for a walk outdoors!

  267. I am thankful for Proverbs 31. These Bible studies have made a difference in my walk with God. A Confident Heart helped me get rid of some fears and false beliefs. M2C taught me that I want to do all I do for God, and now I’m learning how to eat. I had such a bad start with food in my life. There was some real dysfunction in my family – my mother didn’t want to “lose” her girls to marriage and didn’t want us involved with boys, so she really pushed food, especially sweets, on us. I didn’t marry until I was 43! Anyway, not sure why I got into that except to say God works mightily and has been healing me over the years in this area. These studies are helping. Thank God for moving us forward!

  268. I am thankful that God speaks to me! Love those moments when you know you are hearing God’s voice!!!!

  269. I am thankful for a sweet sister in law who called me today , and encouraged me to be thankful all the time. To think of good things rather than bad, like it says in Philippians 4:8 “whatever is honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent, and worthy of praise” I am so thankful for her.

    • Andrea A. says:

I love that verse and have been trying to keep it in my mind. ‘Be Positive’ is what that verse speaks to me every time I read it. So glad you shared that and reminded me to think about that verse again.

  270. Ashley Jones says:

I am so thankful the Lord has redeemed me and wakes me up to a new day full of his grace and mercy! God is so good!!

  271. GRACE!!

  272. 1. Thankful for Nicki and Melissa, their heart of service and leadership.
    2. Thankful I have a mom who is also my best friend.
    3. Thankful for a powerful week of revival at my church this week.

    7. Thankful for God’s promises and renewed mercies everyday.

    10. Thankful for my home and for a good cup of coffee!!!!
    There’s 10! :)))) my cup runneth over!!!

    • I too, am thankful for my miracle sons. I prayed over my doctor’s hands every day while I was trying to get pregnant.

  273. I’m so thankful for God’s endless supply of grace and His example to me of how to love

  274. Tammy Cartier says:

I am thankful for second chances because God wants us to succeed with him.

  275. Thank you for today’s message- it was right on!

  276. I am so grateful that God is constant and faithful. He is always in Control. And His love for me has nothing to do with my attitude, actions or behaviors…..such Grace. Praise You, Lord!

  277. Mercy

  278. Valerie Huff says:

I am thankful that for the first time in my life I am seeing my struggle with my weight as a way to honor and glorify God. Truly.

  279. Andrea A. says:

Nicki and Melissa I’m so glad and thankful for this message today. God’s timing as always is perfect. That is exactly the message I needed to hear. I had my second baby in Dec. and it has been difficult to be home with a newborn and a toddler during one of the coldest winters in recent history (I live in WI). I most definitely have a case of the baby blues bordering on depression. I’ve had depression before so I recognize that I’m not in the greatest of places right now. I’ve been pouring my heart out to God to help me, crying, pleading, asking for a whole lot of things. I know in my head I need to be thankful, think positive, be glad for what I have. It’s just that depression/baby blues/satan’s lies are so hard to kick!! I know I need to get my mind right. But I’m really struggling. Nicki, I’m going to join you in 7 days of praising God rather than asking for things.

I am thankful for so many things: my healthy baby girl, my toddler that is adjusting to the new baby, my husband who is doing his best to help and support me, and for this study that is helping me keep my sanity. πŸ˜‰

    • Katherine says:

Praying for you, Andrea! God knows exactly where you are. In Psalm 56:8 it says He keeps our tears in a bottle, and “this I know, that my God is for me.” Praise God because He is for you (and all of us)! He knows what is hard and what is sweet about the very place you’re in at this moment. He is there to love on you and show up for you. Thank you for being brave enough to share about this. I’m praying for you, and don’t ever be afraid to reach out for help! God’s love comes directly to us – in prayer, listening, Scripture, songs; but it also comes indirectly – through people He is using to help and love on us. Praying for you that He will just overwhelm you with His abundant love today!

      • Andrea A. says:

Thanks you so much Katherine, for you kind words.

        • Andrea A. says:

I read your message again…I’ve been thinking about going to a counselor again to help me through this time in my life of struggle. I’ve been fighting it because, even though I know better, it feels like weakness and failure. But you are so right about how God helps us indirectly by bringing ppl into our lives to help us. That is exactly how I need to look at going back to see a counselor. That’s is God’s way of helping me, His way of answering my prayer.

    • Susan Stefanini says:

Andrea, my heart shares tears of compassion for your long and weary winter. Be encouraged, dear daughter of God, Spring is coming and you will feel new life again in the longer hours of daylight and warmth, and joy in the new life you will see in God’s creation all around you. Right now you may not feel joy in this season of your circumstances, but know in your heart you can have joy in your hope and trust in God who is carrying you through this season with His great love and compassion. I’m praying for you right this moment. Blessings and love to you, Susan

  280. Katherine says:

I’m thankful for how God has brought me to this place of gathering up grace each day and moving on up the mountain! I’m thankful for two friends who introduced me to MTC and then to the MTC Action Plan Challenge. I’m thankful for God’s work in Lysa, Nicki, and Melissa – and y’all’s willingness to share your stories and God’s work in and through you – His work is being multiplied as you open your heart to us! I’m thankful for this community of people going through the same study and being vulnerable so that we can all encourage each other in this walk! Praise God for this!

  281. I am so glad that through this study I have realized that God is with me always, even when I fail. I am so thankful my identity is in Christ. I can find so much peace in that!

  282. I am thankful for God’s Grace. He is my strength. I know because of His unconditional love, I can call on Him anytime about anything no matter how small or large.

  283. I’m thankful I can remember to praise God in all things, and I’m thankful my dad (who has dementia) can still remember me. Seven days of praise coming up . . . !

  284. bari c federspiel says:

I praise the LORD for giving me the people in my life… I am blessed beyond measure and far more than I could ever deserve. Thank you, God, for mercy and grace.

    2. I’m thankful for the ladies in my Facebook OBS Group 49 there comments and support.
    3. I’m thankful for my godly Husband who loves me and is my best friend. And is on this journey with me.

  286. Stephanie Miller says:

Leah’s story has always resonated with me. I have many a times felt unloved, uncared for, and there have even been times I felt like a pawn – like I was only kept around because there was some use to me – whether at church or at home. I spent years trying to convince myself it was all in my head, that I made it up, that the feeling were false – and maybe it isn’t true. But I’ve decided it desn’t matter if it is true or not. All I need to know is that God loves me and accepts me and He has brought many people in my life that make sure I know they care. It isn’t going t be easy to get past the past, it hasn’t been at all, but tday I’m praising God that He saw me when I felt unloved, uncared for and a pawn and that He loves me, cares for me and brings others in my Life. I’m praising Him knowing that with His help I can get past the past!

    • Stephanie, that is just beautiful. I am so sorry that you had those feelings from your past but so happy to see that your Father in Heaven is showing you His love and His faithfulness. You are dear and loved. Praising God with you for his faithfulness to you and to us all. I was a “Leah” too. πŸ™‚ God bless you! – Kelly

  287. I am so thankful for God’s love, mercy and grace! I am thankful that I can now receive all of this from God. I am thankful for this new journey of no smoking and exercise and eating right!!

  288. Hi
I am thankful that throughtout my madness of trying all the diets out there including any wonder pill that would make be happy, God has blessed me with constant health and I did not destroy myself. It is so very easy to fall sick as a result of our wanting to look good for others.
I am following Jesus only for the last 6 years. Although it has not bveen easy to get rid of old habits, I am thankful to know that Jesus loves me just the way I am, and will meet me wherever I am. I know that I am not alone.
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are the wonderful. I know that well.” Psalm 139:14

    • Hi Carmen! When you break it down, so many of us are fortunate that God has kept us healthy. I praise God for your six years of relationship with him. We are fearfully and wonderfully made by our creative and brilliant God. I pray that all of us will keep that in mind. God bless you!

  289. I am thankful for my good friend Michelle who is doing this study with me long distance. She is my sounding board that I can share anything with! I miss her to pieces and I honestly don’ know what I’d do without her by my side. πŸ™‚

  290. I am thankful for OBS, for feeling God’s presence in my life, for the 10 pounds I have lost, for my husband’s wonderful doctor’s report yesterday after his heart attack, for God’s grace, that He is showing me this isn’t a diet, it’s a lifestyle, for Melissa and Nicki’s videos, I look forward to them !!

  291. I’m thankful for my health. Sure, I’m in the obese category, which isn’t healthy, but I’m not sick. I don’t have medical problems. I’m able to exercise and live. God has truly blessed me with health. I want to do my part to praise Him by choosing to take care of the gift he’s given me.

  292. I want to thank God for spring sunshine today. I want to also take the challenge of praising God for everything. It is making me think of ways to praise in place of asking.

  293. Dianna Green says:

I want to be healthier, so I am losing weight.
I am thankful for my husband!

  294. I’m thankful for my friend, Wanda, who invited me to do this Bible study with her, and I’m thankful for this Bible study and for Proverbs 31 Ministries! I’ve never done an online Bible study, and probably wouldn’t have ‘tried’ it, without my friend’s encouragement, because I’m a paper and pen kind of gal when it comes to studying. But here I am, and I’m loving it!

    • Thanking the Lord for your friend Wanda too! I invited some of my friends to this study after not really sharing others. I got so much from them that I realized I was keeping this wonderful blessing to myself. So glad you are here Rita!

  295. I loved the comment about no matter the stage in life I still need to do this for all the right reasons. Being a woman in the 60’s my thoughts were focused on not being so heavy for the paulbeares to carry (yes morbid thoughts) and some thoughts about all those ads with women my age looking ageless. I was asking God to help me look(yes younger) better for Him to be honored. I’ve been so caught up in this thinking that my body relfects God’s image (wrong!). My personality, who I am reflects God’s image and my personality has NO size (THANKS LORD !!) Thanks Melissa and Nikki for holding this girl accountable to the one who loves us most.

    • “My personality, who I am reflects God’s image and my personality has NO size (THANKS LORD !!)

Sandy I am writing this down. I too have been caught up in thinking that I should look better so I am a good example of a Christian. I should be showing how God has us in control. Wow…what a crock! And let’s face it, that wish was really only half the story. Thank you for your insight!

  296. I’m thankful for God’s Word , blessings on me and my family!

  297. Thankful for the donor family for the life saving liver my dearly beloved received last Aug. Amidst their grief, we are celebrating renewed life of a wonderful husband, dad, and papa.

    • An amazing gift. Oma, how dearly loved you are. Praying for God’s grace and blessings on the donor’s family. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful reason to be thankful.

    • I am thankful that my son, who went to be with the Lord in 1998 was able to be an organ donor. I appreciate your comment <3

    • Suzie Malis says:

Oma, my son received a liver transplant at the age of 6. Today he is a healthy 30 year old! He’s off all the meds and getting ready to go back to college. I, too, am grateful to the donor family, who in their grief, could give the blessing of life to our son! We have such an awesome God!

  298. I am thankful for a loving supporting husband who reminded me today that I am a princess (God’s princess!).. even on days (especially today) when I don’t feel like one!

    • Jenni, you just made me smile so big. What a wonderful husband you have and how dear he is to remind you of these truths. He really is a man in touch with his God! πŸ™‚ Praying that today and all days you will be shown God’s loving reminders of how special you are to him.

Every morning before we leave the house, I say a quick prayer to God with my daughters, thanking Him for another day. My one thing I am thankful for is the blessings God gives to me every day. The small ones and the big ones. We were driving to school this morning and the sky was the most beautiful I had seen all year. I told my daughter God gave us this beautiful sunrise. I almost cried realizing right then the truth that God is always with us and thinking of us.
    God Bless,

  311. Hello ladies! Well the question of the day is what’s 1 thing are we thankful for? Well as I read some of the above posts some of you wrote more than 1 thing and that’s what I’m gonna do too but not too many. I’m thankful for everything that has to do with Jesus, His Word and His blessings and so on. Then there’s you ladies. Where would I be without the support of you. I thank each and every 1 of you from the bottom of my heart even though we’ll never meet. God bless you all. Keep hanging in there with the help of Jesus but ALWAYS keep Him first and foremost in whatever your doing and things will fall into place. I’m not just saying this to all of you, I’m saying it to myself too. Have yourselves a blessed day. Remember that Jesus is crazy about you and me too.

I am thankful for having had ankle surgery 3 weeks ago that has restricted me to my couch for a good part of each day as it has opened the opportunity for me to be off work and do this Bible Study. Being in a busy household, this has been difficult and I admit to having felt lonely and pity for myself at points. But having this bible study to get encouragement from has been a blessing and I am learning some great truths from, not just in regards to getting and keeping healthy but more importantly to help me on my journey to draw closer to God, to draw strength from Him, to relax in His promises that you are all sharing – Melissa, Nikki, Lysa, Ski – thank you for allowing yourselves to be vessels to be used for God’s glory; for the lives you are touching through this bible study. I would be remiss to not also praise God for my wonderful husband who has tirelessly waited on me, making me breakfast in the mornings he can, bring me a glass of water, doing the laundry, doing the dishes, making supper when he’s home, all while keeping up with his busy life as a chaplain! God has truly blessed me with this wonderful Godly man and I am thankful:)

  321. I am thankful for my husband and for OBS and my small group of wonderful ladies. My motive has been my appearance and what other people think of me. I am now seeing that I need to focus on who I am in Christ and not how I look and instead of what other people think of me; what does God think of me. Now this is my new goal, every day: be joyful, pray constantly, give thanks. This verse has changed my perspective completely. We make it so complicated for ourselves sometimes, but this is what God wants from me: to be joyful, to pray constantly, and to give thanks. I can do that!

  358. Good to see you back Nicki. You’re adorable.
It just so happens that I just gave God a big shout-out on Facebook regarding something I am thankful for. Here it is:
“I am currently writing the final chapter of my book. I don’t know if it will get published or not. Regardless, I want to publicly thank and praise God for guiding me through this journey and giving me the insights, revelations, thoughts, words, ideas, examples, scriptures, and everything else I needed to write this book. Sometimes I literally pause after writing a paragraph & say “Thank you God for that.” I had never written anything like this before, so it was all unchartered territory. That being said, I’m amazed by how good it is! Then again, I had the best writing partner a girl could ask for.”

  359. I’m thankful for many things but right now I am thankful that I found Proverbs 31 ministries. This ministry is helping me increase my focus on spiritual things. I have been a christian for 35 years and am so thankful for that, but I was at a dry place and this ministry has brought some refreshment to me. Thank you Jesus – you always lead me to green pastures where I can rest and find my hope in you.

  360. I am thankful today for all the beautiful and different colors and textures of food I shopped for in the produce aisle. God created them just for me for wellness and health. Just another example of His loving care over me.

Today I am thankful for the much more temperate weather! It has been a cold, snowy winter. Although it has been beautiful and refreshing, I am thankful for the promise of spring!

I have dieted for the wrong reasons almost my entire life. I dieted for all the reasons you mentioned and I still at age 60+ am concerned how I appear in my clothes. I have decided to be joyful, prayerful and most of all thankful today. Thank you for speaking about dieting for the wrong reasons…I needed to hear that. I have long ago decided it is not a diet, but a way to eat in a healthy way for the rest of my life. Some days I do well and others; not so much! Thank you for #action!

  362. Katherine Doughty says:

I am thankful for my loving husband, who has never once told me I was overweight. He has loved me and told me I was beautiful at my heaviest.

  363. Joycelyn says:

I am thankful for GOD’s truly amazing, indescribable, unconditional, eternal love. That He loves me just as I am; imperfect and weak, poor and needy, and dependent on Him for everything. I’m thankful that He has me just where He wants me at this particular time in my life for the purpose of being “made to crave” Him only with you wonderful group of God’s girls. I’m thankful that He places a smile on my face for His glory, and He alone makes it possible for me to be joyful always, to pray continually, and to give thanks in ALL circumstances which is His will for my life.

  364. I am thankful that I am saved through Grace and not works…. I got chills when I listened to Lisa’s pastor yesterday… that God loved and was well pleased with Jesus Before he had DONE any miracles…. and that he loves me the same way. POWERFUL!

  365. Great video! Thanks for the encouragement!! I love hearing from Nicki and Melissa. This week’s verse is perfect for me. Great focus. Be joyful, be prayerful, be thankful. God is the giver of all good gifts!

I am thankful today for the beautiful sky I saw as I drove to work this morning. It was about 20 different shades of blue ranging from almost black to baby blue. It was gorgeous and I just remember saying “Thank you, God. You are the most wonderful Artist. You and You alone create beauty that a human eye could never dream of.” Today I thank God for all of the majesty He lays before me every single moment that I so often fail to see.

  367. Julianna says:

  373. I’m thankful for my husband and for the second chance at true love that God gave us. God took our messed up lives, and made us whole. He’s used our experiences and allowed us to minister to others. I’m so thankful for God’s unconditional love.

  374. Mary Converse says:

I’m thankful for my husband and family. I hurt my back last Tuesday and they have been so good to me and they have been helping with everything even meals and dishes and laundry. I’ve been flat on my back in-between chiropractor appointments everyday and someone drives for me because I can’t right now. It’s amazing to see everyone work together to take care of the important things. And I am thankful that my body is starting to heal after a week of being down. I am so very thankful for the HOPE we have in Jesus our Savior.

  375. I am thankful I signed up for this study. It has shown me what has been missing all these failed attempts of weight loss. Doing it for the wrong reasons and doing it alone! May I also say that Pastor Furtick really reemphasized several messages Lysa points out but in another inspiring way. Thank God for you all.

  376. I am so thankful for this Bible study. I would so love to sit in a room with ya’ all. We are complaining about the cold up here in the Adirondacks (Upstate NY)…can’t wait for summer. This weeks video spoke right to me where I am. I gained 2 pounds this week and am feeling discouraged. I am very hard on myself and have trouble forgiving myself or cutting myself any slack. I expect myself to be perfect, which of course I fail at ….A LOT!!! My counselor agrees that I am too hard on myself, but said the fact that I have realized this is half the battle. I really liked what Pastor Steve had to say. My hope, my prayer is that I will be able to internalize that. That God loves me because I am His. It doesn’t matter what I have or have not done. I have the head knowledge….now I am praying for the heart knowledge.
Asking us to think about things we are thankful for isn’t always easy. We have had a really rough 15 months financially. If it can go wrong, it will! I am trying to kick Murphy out of my house….post haste. It has been easy to focus on the struggle, but God gently reminds me of the things that have gone right. I am trying to focus on those things this week. I am thankful for a husband that loves me for who am and doesn’t complain about the weight I have gained. He works hard to provide for our family. I know he loves me unconditionally and more important, he loves the Lord! He has given me three beautiful children that we have the privilege to raise and teach them about Christ. They have all chosen to baptized on their own!!! Despite the financial trials and struggles that we have and are going through….I STILL have them!!!! Praise God!!! I have often compared myself with Job and that’s when God reminds me that he hasn’t allowed any harm to my children. I am so incredibly thankful to God for protecting my family!!!

    • I don’t know how often you weigh, but my weight can fluctuate 2 pounds up or down over a one week period. I have been weighing once a week at the same time of day every week now since last March. This helps you be more consistent and track where you truly are. I hope this encourages you. Praying for you.

  383. Thank you Lord for the husband you gave me. What a gift!!!

  384. Audree Lyles says:

oh, my gosh! I’m so thankful for so many things!!! It’s definitely not hard to find something! It’s hard to only think of ONE thing!!! it’s hard to think of something in the midst of trials. And so I am going to mention that. Right now, for the past few weeks, I have been experiencing pain in a muscle in my right forearm. What can I be thankful for in that? I type with my right hand (using left, now, tho!). I write and draw with my right hand (currently taking a drawing class!), I chop veggies with my RH. I do EVERYTHING with my RH!!! When I was a teenager, I was not hired for a job at KFC because I was “too right handed”. (I think I am thankful for that, in retrospect! LOL!!) But really, how can I be thankful? Well, I’m thankful for the pain—to tell me that I have issues! I’m thankful that I HAVE a right hand! And that i also have a BACKUP hand! I’m thankful that i’m having to DEVELOP my left hand so my right hand (and arm, more importantly) can REST! I’m thankful for the opportunity to cook and garden in more creative ways so i dont use my right arm! I’m not sure I can DRAW with my left hand, tho. but, hey! maybe I should try it!!!
I’m thankful God loves me so much!!! i’m thankful for m2c & m2cap to keep me focused on God and not my circumstances!!!

  387. Debbie Parker says:

Do I have to pick just one thing? LOL I am thankful for a godly and supportive family and that God loves me for who I am, not for what I do!

  388. I’m ever so thankful that God has brought me to this place, to be with all of you, because it’s making me a better person, mom, wife, friend.

  389. I am thankful for where God brought my life from, and where it is today. I am thankful for the family He has given me, and how He has provided for me over the years. I am thankful for each new opportunity that He gives each new day. I am thankful for His forgiveness, and everlasting love.

  390. God has Blessed me immeasurably and I feel so unworthy sometimes. So maybe I am thankful for my daily incredible Blessings!

  391. I am thankful for proverbs31 and this online Bible study blog. My how you have grown! I’ve been following for several years now and just love doing different studies with ladies all over the world. I am also thankful for God’s unfailing love for me. Thanks Melissa and Nikki and all the others involved behind the scenes that make these OBS such a friendly, approachable place full of God’s teachings!

  392. I am so very thankful for God being with me in this time of grief. I lost my husband 8 weeks ago and I don’t know what I would do if it wasn’t for God!

    • Lorna,
Praying for you, my sweet sister. Hugs and comfort from our Lord to you.

    • Barbara Prince says:

That is beautiful DaNae. God is so wonderful and caring.

    • Barbara Prince says:

Loren, God has promised to be a husband to the widow.

    • Oh, Lorna, I’m truly sorry for your loss, stay close to God and He will get you through this. I know a husband is different from a mother, but when I lost my mother at 23 she was still a very essential person in my daily life as far as emotional, and mental support, sometimes financial, I relied on her more than myself I think. God carried me through that in an amazing way. Just keep trusting and stay close. Praying for you <3

    • Susan Kintzel says:

I’m so sorry for your loss.

  393. I am thankful for my family and for this wonderful study that is challenging me both spiritually and physically. I am also thankful for all you other ladies in this journey with me. 395. I am thankful for God’s unconditional love.

  396. I’m thankful for the warm sunny day…and that today for the first time since probably high school I was able to run a 1/4 mile. Doesn’t sound like much, but it is a start and I’m excited to be fit enough to do it!

  397. I am thankful for P31 OBS and that the Lord led me to find you all online. πŸ™‚ P31 is a true blessing in my life.

  398. Amy Nalley says:

  400. Kalyanie says:

I am thankful that my 2 year old did not cry when I dropped him off at daycare today πŸ˜€
    Praise the Lord!

  401. I needed this reminder to be thankful yesterday. Our car broke down and we are planning on going on vacation next week. All the way to pick up my husband I was questioning God why does this have to happen now. Then it dawned on me that maybe God is taking care of us rather than inconveniencing us. I had to thank God that the issues did not start while we were in the middle of no where. When we prayed my husband without any cues or discussion on what my thoughts begin to thank God for the situation and acknowledged God’s goodness. I was a little humbled and convicted that that wasn’t my reaction. Thatnk you God for making this lesson practical for me.

  402. Barbara Prince says:

I am so thankful that the God of all creation, the Lord of Glory, would accept me just the way I am, but love me enough to call me up higher!

  403. I love the take on the story in Genesis 29 the story of Leah and younger sister Rachel. How Leah strived through bearing children to gain her husband Jacob’s love. But having failed decided to stop trying to win him this way and said, “Now now will I praise the Lord!” and she ceased bearing. I’d never really looked at it this way, so good Nikki and Melissa!! Thanks for being this to us!!

I love the 7-Day Challenge too. I plan to do it with you. I bet it will be amazing!!

I’m Thankful for my husband who though is not perfect (no one is) has remained a faithful and loving husband in spite of having a wife with disability’s and limitations that can make life difficult.

  406. I am thankful that Jesus died for my food issues.

  407. I am thankful that when we were in the process of losing our home, my husband and my parents both were able to help us. The In laws gave us their old camper to live in, for as long as it takes to get back on track. My parents gave us their back yard, to put it in. We may be crowded (we have 4 growing boys), but we have a roof over our heads, and our parents are there for us.

I am so there in the seven day challenge! I, too, forget to thank Him as much as I am asking for His help and blessings. So, I’m excited about just Thanking Him!!

  408. Kimberly says:

I am thankful for all of you and for these past few weeks where I have finally seen why I have been eating how I do and exactly how God wants to fill the hole that food has and make me whole again in Him.

  409. So many things, but as I reflect on everything I am so thankful I know Jesus as my savior. He never gives up on me and no matter how many times I stray or start spending less time with him and let things of this world distract me, He always pulls me back in. The email I got for this bible study is a great example. I almost deleted it and didn’t even read it! God always is working to pull me closer to Him and I am more thankful for that than anything!!
And also that tonight is my last night shift!! God brought a new opportunity into my life and I get to have a normal DAYTIME schedule!! So thankful for this and not being tired ALL the time! Love you Jesus!

  421. this study

  422. Jenny Giertz says:

I took a walk this morning and I actually heard the birds singing and heard and saw the geese were flying over head, and I saw a cardinal on a tree branch, and I thanked God for all He showed me this morning… and I remembered how the Bible says, “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable then they?” Matthew 6:26; and how in Matthew 10:29-31 we are told “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid;you are worth more than many sparrows.” I am worth more than many sparrows. I thanked God for the air I breath, for the blood that flows through my veins, for the life I have in my body, knowing He gives this all to me. He lives in me, and I thank Him for His love. That is what I am thankful for, and I praise Him…

  427. Thankful for this Made to Crave program that has lighted the path for me. Praise God for these Women of God who are guiding us.

  428. I am thankful for God’s faithfulness. What he says he will do. When we say ” I want to please you, Lord”, he gives us the desire and power to do just that (Phil. 2:14). Then he gives confirmation as we are obedient that he is indeed at work in us and through us for his honor and glory.

  429. I am doing this to change my life. I crave God now, not food, and I am so thankful to God for putting M2C on Lysa’s heart to share with the rest of us. I am thankful for my family, my church family, my OBS friends, and thankful that God used this study to draw me closer to Him. I praise him so, Worthy is the Lamb!

  434. Susan Kintzel says:

I praise God and am so thankful for the ways he has chosen to use me in an extremely ungodly work environment. For years, I begged him to get me out of there and for years, he left me there. Now, I praise his name for every opportunity, great and small, to shine His light in the darkness.

  439. Thankful for a God who cares enough about my health to lead me to this wonderful Bible study.

  440. Losing weight for the wrong reasons. Now that is something to give thought too. I am sure that women for centuries have looked at it this way (me included) and not doing it to honor our lord. I need to really turn my thinking around so next time I think to myself I want to lose this stomach, or gee those women aren”t fat and there older why can’t I look like that, I must remember that what I am doing through this study is growing in the word of God and wanting to honor him by taking care of the body he has given me.
I am so Thankful for being able to wake up and volunteer at the botanical gardens in town, to be able to work with Gods plants and flowers and getting 3 hours of exercise in. 515. Susan Harris says:

I am thankful for today’s video that you two wonderful gals did. So much of what you talked about spoke to me. But one in particular I wanted to comment on and that was when you read about Leah and her struggle to get her husband’s attention by having sons. Then you commented on the comparison trap and making sure our motive for wanting to lose weight are in right perspective.
For me this is a very, very, very hard thing to overcome. I grew up with a father who in my teen years would make derrogatory comments on my weight – even though I was average weight for my age; then I was married to a man whom would call me all sorts of horrible names after I became pregnant with our first child (as well as through two more pregnancies) and would do these “double-take, neck-breaking” looks at skinny women wherever we were, whether it be driving down the road or in a store; and eventually had several affairs. I’ve been “compaired” to other girls or women for most of my entire life and I truly struggle with not compairing myself to others who are thinner. Because of this, there were several times in my life where I’d even wished ever so badly that I could have anorexia… in my insecure state of mind, I’d rather have that be my issue; and since I couldn’t bring anorexia upon myself, I then went through a period of binging and purging. My daughter found out I was doing that and she’d get upset with me and tell me I was going to die if I continued… and in my desperate and selfish state of mind, I would reply with “well, at least my coffin wouldn’t have to be an XXL one”.
I want to say that thankfully this was several years ago and I have since come back to the Lord and am living my life for Him. He has removed those thoughts of wishing I had anorexia and even though I’d been tempted to binge and purge within the past few years, the Lord has given me the strength to resist following through. However, I do still struggle with the comparison trap. I sometimes wonder if I’ll ever be able to overcome that totally.
As I look back over the years and all the things I’ve gone through, I would have to say that I am ever so thankful for the work that the Lord has done in my life and the work that He is still doing. I am thankful that I AM a child of God and that He loves me and cares for me no matter how I look or how I feel. And I am thankful, like so many others, for all of you there at Proverbs31 who put so much work and effort into these online Bible studies! Thank you!!

I am most thankful for the developement I am recieving from the Lord both physically and spiritually.

  524. I am a day late on this but what I am most thankful for this week is God bringing me to a “light bulb” moment that led me to write a blog post called, “I finally get it.” Throughout this study, when I prayed through carvings and gave up certain things to be obedient to God and become closer to Him, I was thinking of it as asking Him to help me stop doing something. I wanted to stop stress eating, stop overindulging, stop craving things that are bad for me. But this week’s video in the study, combined with a message I heard at church on Sunday, opened my eyes to let me see what was wrong with that. The message was about how Jesus called himself the bread of life and said if anyone came to him, they would never be hungry again. Our pastor shared the story of Jesus feeding the multitude of people, and that the next day some of the people who had been there tracked Jesus down. They asked him if he might do something like Moses did when the people of Israel were fed for 40 years. Jesus knew they had only chased after him because they wanted food, but they should have been seeking him for the spiritual nourishment only he could provide. I was still thinking how perfect it was for me that I should hear that message this week when I watched the video Monday. When Lysa repeated that statement, “We were made to consume food, but food was never meant to consume us,” it all clicked. I remembered Jesus also saying don’t worry about food and drink, because the pagans chase after those things, but seek first his kingdom and we would have what we need as well. Jesus is everything that I need and I finally get that it isn’t about asking him to help me break bad habits but it’s about just being close to Him and knowing that food really is ONLY food. All those foods that I will always like are not NEEDED. But I do NEED Jesus. I am thankful for how God speaks to us through His word and how he brings the right people and opportunities together at the right time to teach what we need to know.

  525. Judy Flores says:

I am thankful for God’s word and how it speaks to me and convicts me. I am also even more aware of His amazing grace which I do not deserve which makes me want to praise Him!

  526. I Praise God for a Family Nurse Practitioner that did all my blood work and EXPLAINED my results to me AND prescribed proper supplements to help me get my health back!!

  527. I’m a day behind, too. I am thankful for so many things, but if I have to write must one thing it would have to be the peace I have during this weight loss/healthy living journey that God has given to me. All my previous attempts to loss weight I focused on the scale. And if the numbers didn’t go down or worse, went up, I would become discouraged and eat. Then, too, if I had success I would get down 10-12 pounds and start to puff up with pride and “celebrate” which led to backsliding on my “diet” and gaining back the weight and then some. This past Sunday I hit the 10 pound mark, Praise the Lord! But I know that this time I’m not doing it in my power, I’m doing it with God’s power in me. Not that there haven’t been bad meals, and even a few bad days, but I’m not letting them derail me. I’m taking it a meal and a day at a time. I’m tracking what I eat and trying to plan ahead for when I want a special food or meal, to see if I can fit it in. Early on in the M2C study I put a sign on my scale that says, “I am not defined by the numbers.” “For everyone who has been born of God OVERCOMES the world. And this is the VICTORY that has OVERCOME the world — our faith” (1 John 5:4 ESV, emphasis added). Then I drew one of those do not signs (red circle with a line through it) and wrote on the line, “OVERRULED!” And under that, ” I AM AN OVERCOMER!” I do weigh myself once a week, but in between, if I get anxious when I see the scale I just read my sign andcalm right down. It keeps me from weighing more often. I thank God for His grace and His power that is available to us. I thank Him for the peace to rule in my heart and mind as I trustt in Him. And I thank Him for giving me His Word, this study, and wisdom to do what is best for my journey to a healthy lifestyle and weight and not try to fit into someone else’s mold. Amen!

  528. I am thankful to have found accountability in P31 OBS and encouraged my closest friend to join me on MTC A.P. 534. I am thankful for the hurt I felt at my prior church. God knew where my family and I need to be and that is at my current church. My relationship with Christ has blossomed! I have grown so much this past year and for the crazy exciting things that God has shown me for the future!

And all praise to Him that he never sees my bruises, my blemishes because the blood of Jesus covers my head as death passes me by…each and every time I fall. Every time, I have fallen into the arms of Jesus. Thank you Father God for do-overs.

  546. Julie Sorensen says:

My thankfulness is that as I go through this study, I am asking God before my feet his the floor, to direct my day. Each day He has brought someone or something that needs His attention! Getting my eyes and my concern off of myself, and on to someone who is hurting or seeking or questioning what is happening in their life right now is helping me to see the bigger picture. Yes, I want to lose weight and be more healthy, but more than that, I want to be helping to complete His Kingdom, His body, His bride! Here’s to today!

  563. I love the week to video but noticed Dr. Chilton said cod had over 1000mg of omega’s Per serving but in the book on page 46 it’s only showing 194. Also the values in the book for salmon are a lot different than the video. Being that he co-authored the book and the information is from the ADA, I’m just wondering what/who to believe. I really want to be successful and have as much knowledge on this is possible. P31 please advise, thank you πŸ™‚

Being a woman of thankfulness: Truly I am thankful for much, but this week I have been especially thankful for my husband, the man God gave me almost 37 years ago … we have been going through a particular trial with one of our adult children, but even in that trial there has been so much for which we are thankful. Especially though God has impressed on me the blessing of my husband and walking together through life all these years – such a gift to me!

  567. I am thankful for this study helping me to reconnect to my body after having been blessed with two beautiful boys in the last 2 years. I am thankful for the reminder from Dr. Chilton that overeating is not just because I lack willpower but also because there is an inherent hunter-gatherer gene. This has helped me more in the last week than anything else. God has brought that thought back to me time and again this week before I have eaten something that I do not need or is in excess of my hunger.

  568. I am thankful for so much as I am truly blessed. Especially today for my wonderful family-my husband, son and daughter (in law), and two granddaughters!

  579. I am thankful that I can come home from work and know that I have this Bible Study and everyone to share my journey with. Instead of feeling lonely I can now share my love for God here and my struggles. It has been a great comfort to know that others have shared the same highs and lows. I kept thinking that the last time I was successful and lost weight, I found out I had breast cancer. It was eight years ago (yeah) but it always sticks in the back of your mind. I think part of me thought that would happen again but through this Bible study I know now that I need to trust in God and put it in his hands. . . . Wow, I had no idea all of that was going to come out! Thank you Jesus!

Joining you in being thankful and praising God this week. All of you are such a blessing. I’m thankful for life and being a child of God.

  590. Michele McNeely says:

(I try every day to Thank God for this because I do have MS and every day that I can do these things is a GOOD DAY!) Oh my what a week it’s been! I’m just now going through our study for the week. Today I am thankful for some down-time at work to sit at God’s feet and find hope and encouragement. I SO needed this week’s message, and I definitely see that Satan has been pulling me away from this time this week. It hasn’t necessarily been a bad week, but a week where my demands were different than my priorities. But I am thankful that I’ve made it through. I have a long weekend and will be enjoying being part of a wedding for two beautiful friends πŸ™‚

  610. I am very thankful for this study. During my weightloss journey I have been praying to learn what the bible says about weightloss and being healthy. Thank you.

  620. Micah Dodd says:

I’m thankful that God loves and accepts me always just as I am and that He never gives up on me. I’ve had a whole lot of people not beleiving me and even telling me I couldn’t do things or wouldn’t amount to anything. Even as young as 6th grade I had boys telling me they’d go out with me if only I’d lose about 20 lbs. Though these memories used to be a real source of sadness and regret and even depression for me, mostly because a lot of these hurts came from family members, now I see this as something that God has used to show me how different and GLORIOUS He is. These experiences make me so thankful for the love and accepting nature of God. That’s something I’m not sure I would feel had I not had this unfavorable experiences.

  621. I am thankful for the fact that you are here. I don’t have a support system in my rural farming community. Having you and the P31 team means so very, very much to me. Friends and prayer partners in Christ. Even though I have never met you, you mean the world to me. Thank you.

  622. I’m behind, once again, but trying to catch up. Again, this week’s message from y’all was so touching for me. It’s always exactly what I need to hear. Even though I’m a week behind I’m gonna join in this emphasis to only praise God for the next week. I know this is going to be especially difficult because there are so many things I need help with- but he always provides.

I am thankful for all of you ladies and the wonderful support and encouragement of the P31 team. It’s amazing to have this community. Thank all of you.

  623. Stephani says:

I have been SOOOOO sick. It’s pollen season in Florida which means I’m near death every March. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to keep up with my bible study like I’d like to because my whole family is under the weather. I pray we survive to see April. It’s questionable. I’m trying to catch up as quickly as possible…but the videos are gone from week two and possibly three also – I haven’t gotten that far. Can you help??

    • Karol Burgos (trulyblestx4) says:
