I Love Proverbs 31 Ministries!

One of the things I love best about my job at Proverbs 31 Ministries is getting to see first hand the work God does in transforming lives through this ministry. It’s absolutely crazy amazing. And it happens everyday. Check out this video~

Join us on the front lines! from Proverbs 31 Ministries on Vimeo.

I love that video so much because I can relate. I was once, and really still am, a woman who receives much from Proverbs 31 Ministries.

It was eighteen years ago when I first learned about Proverbs 31. My 2nd child had just been born and even though I had a wonderful family and friends, I was lonely. I felt very inadequate as a wife and mom. Proverbs 31 Ministries became my mentor in walking with me daily, guiding and teaching me what a personal relationship with Jesus looked like. I learned how to bring my faith to life for myself and in the lives of my family. I can’t believe I get to be a part of that today. Not only do I work at Proverbs 31 Ministries, but I’m also a monthly partner. I don’t have to give money to this ministry, I GET TO give money to this ministry. And by doing so, I’ve become a small part of bringing God’s peace, purpose, and perspective to the lives of women all across the world. Proverbs 31 Ministries changed my life. My family and I will forever be grateful to God and P31.

Maybe you too have been blessed by Proverbs 31 Ministries.  If so, would you consider joining us? Below are ways you can be a part of all God is doing through P31.

1. Prayer. This is the best thing anyone can do for our ministry. Would you pray for Proverbs 31 Ministries?

  • Pray right now.
  • Pray once a week. (Hey, that’s 52 times a year!)
  • Pray daily.

2. Giving. We are able to do what we do at Proverbs 31 because of the financial gifts God has provided through people like you.  No amount is too small or too big. One dollar helps! When I look at what this community did through Dove’s Nest during our Yes to God study (you all gave over $28,000!!!) all through the combination of small and large gifts, I am still blown away! Never underestimate what God can do through our gifts. Online Bible Studies are possible for FREE to all of us because there are people out there giving to financially support this ministry!

3. Volunteer.

  • Do you live in the Charlotte, NC area?  We need regular volunteers we can count on. Email nicki@proverbs31.org if you can help!

4. Encourage. Ministry can be difficult at times. Our office is always grateful when we hear from our P31 community.

  • Send a card to the P31 office. 630 Team Rd. Suite 100, Charlotte, NC  28105
  • Email a prayer to the P31 office. prayer@proverbs31.org
  • Let us know how P31 has impacted your life. Click here to tell us your story.

Thank you so much for being a part of this OBS community. I love y’all dearly!

Here in the United States we are celebrating Thanksgiving this week. One of the things I’m most thankful for is you. That’s the truth.

Thank you so much for your support! We need you and we truly love our community of women from all over the world. You are a big blessing to me personally and to our entire team and staff.

Radically Blessed

Two things happen when we say yes to God.

  1. We come up against opposition and obstacles that could keep up from being obedient.
  2. We experience radical blessings.

If you can’t see the Radically Blessed video message above, click here.

Let’s Hear From You~

What is the opposition in your life that could keep you from saying yes to God?

What are some radical blessings you are or could experience as a result of saying yes to God?

Coming Up~

Don’t forget the Blog Hop tomorrow. You can find the topics in this post from Monday.

Live Twitter Chat with @P31OBS  at our #YesToGod #TwitterParty! 8 pm EST.

My Thoughts vs. God’s Word

Did you happen to read the Proverbs 31 Encouragement for Today devotion yet? If so, you know that I wrote it. And you also know one of my big struggles…entertaining the lies of the enemy.

Welcome to our Proverbs 31 Devotion subscribers! You have entered a place that I call home, the Proverbs 31 Online Bible Studies Blog. It is my hope that you will feel at home here. We have a fabulous community of women from all over the world! Seriously, over 120 countries represented here. This is a place we study God’s Word, share life, keep it very real, grow, learn, and dream!

We are currently in our last week of What Happens When Women Say Yes to God and eagerly anticipating our next study, A Confident Heart.

A Confident Heart will help us move forward in life and kick the doubt and condemning thoughts out of the way. I want to invite each of you to join this next Online Bible Study. If you do, you will be amazed at what God can do through you once the negative muck is removed from your mind. Negative thoughts are a huge obstacle for women who have said yes to God. They can hold us back and cripple our good intentions. We don’t want that to happen.

Look in the top right of this page and you will see a sign up form. Fill it out and you will be signed up for A Confident Heart Online Bible Study. (Yes girls, you will need to sign up for the new study if you plan to continue receiving P31 OBS emails.)

All you need to participate in this study is the book, A Confident Heart by Renee Swope. Renee will be signing and including a Bible verse specifically prayed over for you, to the first 4000 who order their books from Proverbs 31 Ministries.

We have a free gift for you today. Just look in the right column of this page just below the Sign up form. There is a tab that says, “Download Yes to God Personalized Verses.”  Click that and you will have some verses just for you! When you open this tab, there will be instructions for you to insert your own name into each verse.

Yes Girls, keep going this week. Work on the questions at the end of Chapter 8 then begin reading Chapter 9, Radically Blessed. I have a message for you tomorrow about being Radically Blessed and what to do with radical blessings.

Upcoming Events for Week 6~

Let’s Hear From You~

Will you be joining us for the next Proverbs 31 Online Bible Study, A Confident Heart?

How do you plan to apply this verse to your life?

“Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence”  (1 John 3:18-19)

Make it a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Refresh and Satisfy

I was given a verse today by a dear friend. I read it. I closed my eyes. I could feel the tears slipping through the outer and inner corners of my eyes.

“I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.” -Jeremiah 31:25

I’m tired. I’ve been sick. I’m broken. I’m in need. In my mind, thoughts race. In my head I think clearly. I only wish my head would communicate better with my body and heart.

“I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.”

God’s Word has power like no other. And right here in the pages of His Word to us contains this promise to refresh and satisfy.

What a wonderful verse to begin the new year with. The promise that God will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint. That’s a promise no one else can make and keep. But He can and He will.

Join me in opening your heart today to receive God’s Word for you. Maybe it’s this verse from Jeremiah. Maybe it’s another one. Please share and let’s begin this year by praying God’s Word over each other.

Thank you for a fabulous 2011!  The online Bible studies we’ve done together, your online friendship, your words of encouragement, and the sharing of your hearts with me have blessed me beyond any descriptive words I could list here! May God bless you and I’m looking forward to an even better 2012!

I’m praying refreshment and satisfaction from the Lord for each of you.

Thank You Confident Heart

To everyone who participated in A Confident Heart Online Bible Study~

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart! This study was the most challenging, yet rewarding, study of the year. I am so thankful for the growth and movements of God throughout the past 12 weeks. I don’t know about you, but I was stretched beyond what I thought I could handle at times. Of course that’s when I’m reminded, my life’s circumstances aren’t for me to handle~I need God. We need God. Without Him….well I’ll just say it straight. Without Him I can’t make it. And I (we) don’t have to.

Please grasp the truths on A Confident Heart. Believe them and continue to put them into the application of  your life. Renee Swope didn’t write a book full of words. She wrote a book full of truths and God’s Promises, but they remain words if you leave them in the book. Take them sisters. We need them.

Thank you to my awesome Bible study team, all 8000+ members of this study, my conference call guests, and especially Renee Swope. It was an honor to have so much participation from all of you. I love you and I have a feeling A Confident Heart will be repeated here sometime in the future. It’s just one of those books.

If you ever want to access our study notes from A Confident Heart, just look in the right column of this blog. Scroll down until you see “Categories.” Under that click “A Confident Heart.” All posts and lessons from this study are there.

Moving forward, sign ups for our next study, Made to Crave, by Lysa TerKeurst begin today. You can sign up in the space provided in the right column. The study begins January 16th and more information will be posted in the Online Bible Studies Info page later today.

Love and blessings to each of you. I love that I can call you friend and I hope you feel the same about me!
