I Love Proverbs 31 Ministries!

One of the things I love best about my job at Proverbs 31 Ministries is getting to see first hand the work God does in transforming lives through this ministry. It’s absolutely crazy amazing. And it happens everyday. Check out this video~

I love that video so much because I can relate. I was once, and really still am, a woman who receives much from Proverbs 31 Ministries.

It was eighteen years ago when I first learned about Proverbs 31. My 2nd child had just been born and even though I had a wonderful family and friends, I was lonely. I felt very inadequate as a wife and mom. Proverbs 31 Ministries became my mentor in walking with me daily, guiding and teaching me what a personal relationship with Jesus looked like. I learned how to bring my faith to life for myself and in the lives of my family. I can’t believe I get to be a part of that today. Not only do I work at Proverbs 31 Ministries, but I’m also a monthly partner. I don’t have to give money to this ministry, I GET TO give money to this ministry. And by doing so, I’ve become a small part of bringing God’s peace, purpose, and perspective to the lives of women all across the world. Proverbs 31 Ministries changed my life. My family and I will forever be grateful to God and P31.

Maybe you too have been blessed by Proverbs 31 Ministries.  If so, would you consider joining us? Below are ways you can be a part of all God is doing through P31.

1. Prayer. This is the best thing anyone can do for our ministry. Would you pray for Proverbs 31 Ministries?

  • Pray right now.
  • Pray once a week. (Hey, that’s 52 times a year!)
  • Pray daily.

2. Giving. We are able to do what we do at Proverbs 31 because of the financial gifts God has provided through people like you.  No amount is too small or too big. One dollar helps! When I look at what this community did through Dove’s Nest during our Yes to God study (you all gave over $28,000!!!) all through the combination of small and large gifts, I am still blown away! Never underestimate what God can do through our gifts. Online Bible Studies are possible for FREE to all of us because there are people out there giving to financially support this ministry!

3. Volunteer.

  • Do you live in the Charlotte, NC area?  We need regular volunteers we can count on. Email nicki@proverbs31.org if you can help!

4. Encourage. Ministry can be difficult at times. Our office is always grateful when we hear from our P31 community.

  • Send a card to the P31 office. 630 Team Rd. Suite 100, Charlotte, NC  28105
  • Email a prayer to the P31 office. prayer@proverbs31.org
  • Let us know how P31 has impacted your life. Click here to tell us your story.

Thank you so much for being a part of this OBS community. I love y’all dearly!

Here in the United States we are celebrating Thanksgiving this week. One of the things I’m most thankful for is you. That’s the truth.

Thank you so much for your support! We need you and we truly love our community of women from all over the world. You are a big blessing to me personally and to our entire team and staff.

Thank You :)

To All My Friends Who Have Studied With Me This Year,

Let me just say a big whopping “Thank You” to each of you. Because of you, these online studies have been a huge success. By the end of this year, over 12,000 people will have participated in the online Bible studies that have been featured on my blog. They have grown so much, instead of me leading them by myself, I had to get a team! God has moved in amazing ways in so many lives, including my own. I give all praise and thanks to Him and Him alone and I stand humbled and in awe of His mighty work and power.

Here is what a people are saying about Melissa Taylor’s Online Bible Studies:

“You have encouraged me to be the woman God has created me to be and accept His calling on my life.” ~ Kelly

“I have been inspired to grow and learn in spite of the fact that my life is far from perfect; in spite of the pain that we sometimes must endure.Thank you for everything you do.” ~ Leslie

“I now know my God as friend, accept His grace and forgiveness, and have a true love of studying His Word and having a relationship with Him through it. Most of all, I’ve learned to choose relationship over religion. I’ve been inspired through this online study to find my worth and trust only in Jesus. I’ve also been inspired to be a good wife and mother.” ~ Mary

” I was surviving but not thriving when I first joined your online Bible study. Through the studies I was given something I didn’t think was possible, hope! Hope in my marriage and hope in a relationship with God. Both were nonexistent before.” ~ Angel

“Thank you for your dedication to the online studies. You have made studying the Bible fun! I’ve been encouraged to hold on to hope and not slip into despair. Plus I’ve made so many new friends. I never expected that from an online study. I also love your facebook page!” ~ Joyce

I would love to have you join me again in study. For those of you already signed up, welcome back. This is going to be another fabulous time of growing confident in God’s promises for our lives.

If you are interested in signing up for my next online study, A Confident Heart, by Renee Swope, you can do that in the right column of this blog (under Bible Study Sign Ups).

Share the Security

Some people make fun of me. Some don’t get me. Others don’t agree with me. Some challenge me.  My weaknesses are exposed, I mess up, I don’t have what it takes.  My videos are stupid.

These are just a few of the fears I’ve had when I thought God was calling me out of my comfort zone to do something for Him…something that could impact His Kingdom…something I’ve learned that could possibly help or encourage someone else…Sharing my Security.

Because of my faith in God and His Word, I am 100% secure in life.  My fears have no power (or at least they shouldn’t!).  I can go ahead and take the risk of failing and looking like a fool if it means it will get me one step closer to what God wants me to do. I’ve seen this time and time again. When I share what God has given me, this gives me a purpose that is far greater than anything I could obtain or achieve.  And it gives purpose to all I’ve been through. To think that God could actually use me to do His work is mind blowing!

All of us are called to Share the Security once we have it.  Our last 2 chapters in It’s No Secret have been about just that.  Chapter 11 instructed us that in order to have wisdom and security, we need to “open the pages of our Bible and read. Regularly.”  We don’t have to be Bible scholars to grasp God’s wisdom. Perfection is not required and we are allowed mess ups and do overs. We also don’t have to be Bible scholars to share God’s love with others. This was what chapter 12 was about.

Yahweh sisters, remember what God has done for you. Look at what He’s revealed to us during this study. Let’s pray for opportunities to share our faith with someone else.  Let’s Share the Security.

Our INS Super Challenge is one way we can become equipped to rise up and become a vessel God can use. As we strive to be more like Jesus, we are fueling our hearts for ministry, for opportunities, for service, for our purpose, for our calling.

Is God calling you to Share the Security in any way?  I’m sure you have talents and abilities to use for Him, why not seek direction on where to go from here?  Have no fear, the Lord is near! (haha, see I risk being goofy too!)

Seriously,  I’d love to hear your thoughts on this and hear how God is using you to bless others. Comment on my blog today and tell us how God is calling you to Share the Security and you’ll be entered to win our next Bible study book, Hidden Joy in a Dark Corner and the Conference Call Series to go with it!

Hope you are having a super good day!

*****Edit…I’m so super excited to also announce that Wendy Blight is giving away a book on her blog too! Whoever wins on Wendy’s blog will also receive the Conference Calls.    All you have to do is go to Wendy’s blog and share why you want to be a part of the next Online Bible Study, Hidden Joy in a Dark Corner!  So, after you leave a comment here, go there and you’ll double your chances of winning!

Words/INS~Week 6

I don’t like combining blog posts, but today I must.  If you are looking for It’s No Secret~Week 6 assignments, scroll down. But before we look at that, I want to tell you about the Proverbs 31 Devotion running today.  If you haven’t read it yet, please go right now and read the devo today:  Click here to read today’s devotion.

As someone who experienced sexual abuse as a child, today’s devotion and the novel, Words, written by the same author of the devo, Ginny L. Yttrup, are near and dear to my heart. Most especially because they are all about healing and living free. I’m reading Words right now and wish I didn’t have to put it down! The subject breaks my heart, but I know how badly it needs to be addressed. More of us have experienced something traumatic like sexual abuse, than you would think. And if you haven’t, you for sure know someone who has. The book, Words, offers hope, healing, and truth. And it’s soooo good!

If you are someone needing hope, healing, and truth, I encourage you to read Words and I also invite you to participate in the next Online Bible Study. Our next study is all about hope, healing and truth.  Sign ups have already started. We will begin reading and studying Hidden Joy in a Dark Corner at the end of May. More on that later, but if you are interested, you can sign up in the side bar of my blog today!
