Wrapping Up Living So That…

Here’s Wendy Blight with today’s message:

[field name=video]

If you can’t see Wendy’s video message, click here.

You made it! We have reached the end of our journey.  How I wish I could hug each and every one of you.  Five weeks of digging into God’s Word, and you have been so faithful to hang in there!

This journey through the “so thats” of God’s Word has demanded much of us, and you have persevered! We on the OBS leadership team are so proud of you!! And far more importantly, God is proud of you! You, my sweet friends, are a display of God’s splendor, and I’m humbled beyond words God allowed me the privilege of walking  this road with you.
And be assured of this:  God will richly bless your faithfulness.

I treasure the new friendships I have made and am so thankful for each and every one of you! Please stay connected with me. I don’t want to lose your friendships. So I’m sharing lots of ways we can stay in touch. (see bottom of this post)
I asked the Lord for a closing Word for you, and He led me to this passage. Praying this over you now as I type these last words, written with my love and deep respect for the great things you have done!
My sisters, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to the blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.” Proverbs 2:1-8

Grab yourself a cup of coffee and maybe some paper & pen to jot down a few notes as you listen to Wendy today~

If you can’t see the video above, click here to watch and listen to Wendy’s message for us today.

You are the light of the world…let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:14, 16  NIV

Do you realize that if you are a Christian, you have the light of the world in you? And when you let your light shine, you are not just shining any light, but the light of Christ?  This just amazes me!

How can you let your light shine this week?  Or do you have a story like Wendy’s where God has impressed on your heart something He wanted you to do, even though you had no idea why?   Share with us in the comment section today.

***Give Away Alert~ Want to win our next OBS book, Limitless Life by Derwin Gray?  The study begins May 25th and we are giving 2 books away today! Sign Up Here! All you have to do is leave a comment about how you can let your light shine.

A Peek at the Week! Living So That, Week 5

P31 OBS Peek at The Week

Not sure about you, but finishing each study I do is bittersweet.  On the one hand, I am thankful for the lessons God teaches me in the Bible studies I’ve completed.  And, to be perfectly honest, sometimes it’s nice to gain a little time back that I normally spent studying or being part of a community.  Seasons of rest are a good thing.

But it’s also sad to say goodbye to a power-packed, life-changing book that intersects my heart and digs deep into my soul.  Living So That is just such a book!  Can I get an Amen?? 🙂  It’s like journeying with the dearest of friends, and then realizing you’re at the end of a trip and everybody’s headed home.  However, we return to “home” as changed women. For that, I’m incredibly grateful!

Meanwhile, we’ve still got one more chapter on our journey.  (Have more than just one chapter to finish? That’s okay, too.  I encourage you to keep going to the end — it’s so worth it!)  This book has been such a gift to my soul.  Such deep, foundational truths, all wrapped up in an adorable little green book cover!

Nicki Koziarz has a few thoughts for us today, as well, in our Intro to Week 5.  Take a look!

If you can’t see the video in your e-mail, click here to watch it.

As a reminder, here’s our memory verse for the week:

“You are the light of the world … let your light shine before men, SO THAT
they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” ~Matthew 5:14, 16 (NIV, emphasis added)

Meanwhile, here’s a closer look at all that’s in store for us this week!

Sunday ~ Watch the brief Ch. 5 Intro. video, above. Schedule in your personal Bible study this week. Find a place to write the memory verse (above) somewhere you’ll see it again often.

All Week ~ We have an amazing treat!  Watch for some special guest posts from the author herself, Wendy Blight!  Give yourself permission to invest time with God. Grab your Bible and book to finish all the lessons in Chapter 5. Timing for this is completely up to you! Many of us are doing one lesson a day … but do whatever is easiest for your schedule.

Saturday ~ Our final wrap-up for Living So That.  Pat yourself on the back.  You did it!

Last, but not least, there are some optional events to enhance your time in God’s word and the lessons from this week. Here’s what you need to know:

Monday ~ May 5, 9:30 a.m. ET (6:30 a.m. PT). Conference Call with Wendy Blight, who wrote Living So That. Each call is recorded, plus there’s a private Facebook group having conversations throughout the week, so even if you can’t join us live, you’re not missing out!  (Recording info is shared via e-mail, typically within 24 hours.)  Learn more or register for the Calls, HERE.

Thursday ~ Rev It Up LIVE!  May 8, 8-9 p.m. ET (5-6 p.m. PT). Fast-paced, frenzied, faith-filled FUN! Watch the Bible come alive in our FREE public Facebook event. RSVP, HERE and you can join us as it happens, OR follow along later on your own time.  Although it’s best if you’ve done the reading, the activities from Rev It Up are broad enough that even if you’re behind in the reading, you can still get a ton out of it!

Share your thoughts in the comments, below … we LOVE hearing from you! :)

  • As Nicki asked us in the video, above, What’s one way God has allowed your light to shine in the past?
  • Is there any way that God is tugging on your heart to let your light shine in a new way in your community?
  • What stood out to you the most in our study of Chapter 4 on Trials?
  • If you could ask Wendy Blight one question, what would it be?  Who knows, maybe we can hear her answer it this week?!?

Grateful to be on this journey with you!

Love & hugs galore!
