Action Plan – Victories & Struggles: Week 5

Happy Saturday ladies! It has been such a blessing to spend Saturdays together during the Made To Crave Action Plan. Over the course of the study, we have learned to take Action to Eat Smart and Embrace who God has made us to be to Maximize our Courage.

This journey has shed light on the how-to of eating healthy and exercising. Of course, the end of the study doesn’t mark an end to our journey. We must use what we have learned to stay on track not only physically but also spiritually.

Each Saturday we have talked about different aspects of prayer. Today we are going to continue that by looking at being thankful – praising God. Our prayers should not only focus on our wants and requests, but we need to also remember to take time to thank God for the blessings He has already given to us.

In the comment section, I invite you to share your victories and blessings with the Online Bible Study community. Let’s join together and thank God today.

Jeanie Kelley, Prayer Warrior team member, has provided the following prayer for us today.

Dear Jesus, thank you for this day and all that will go on. Lord I pray for the study that is wrapping up. Please keep everyone in your tender care. Keep us going through the next study, but help us to remember what we have learned in Made To Crave and Made To Crave Action Plan. I thank you for each one represented here. You have and will hold them in the palm of your hand. Thank you for giving each one of us eternal life and the wonderful gift of salvation. Please place a hedge of protection around each one. We pray this in Your awesome name. Amen.

YOU Made It!!!!!

Hi friends,

I can hardly believe we have made it to the very end of Action Plan and our Made To Crave journey. What an amazing few weeks this has been together.

Today, I wanted to just speak something into you so please watch this short video as we wrap this study up. But first, grab your book because you’ll need it. 🙂

Click here if you cannot see the video.

Okay guys. Now in the comments I want us all to praise God for ONE victory He has given us from this study!

For me, for the first time [perhaps in my whole life], I feel like I’m not an emotional eater. I am not where I want to be, but I’m on my way!

I can’t wait to praise God with you for every step of victory He has given us! Please don’t skip leaving a comment this week. It would mean the WORLD to Melissa and I to hear what God did in you. 🙂

And just in case you haven’t signed up for our next study Living So That, there’s still time!

Here’s a short promotional video from Melissa and author Wendy Blight:

See you soon!!!

Through The Lens ~ MTC Action Plan Photo Hop Week 5

Happy Thursday, friends!

I can’t believe this time next week we’ll be back together for our new study! Moving right along! 🙂

If you haven’t signed up yet for Living So That by Wendy Blight, you can do that HERE.

And did you hear the exciting news about our first ever, face-to-face, IN PERSON Online Bible Study Retreat?! Words cannot describe the emotion I feel at the possibility of gathering with YOU in the mountains of North Carolina.  You can make your reservation HERE. (Remember, spaces are limited)

This is our last week of the MTC Action Plan. Keep in mind, however, that even though you may have set some measurable, reachable goals, ultimately we are not in pursuit of a stopping point but in preparation for a changed lifestyle.

Nicki has been reminding us this week that God is patient. That means He never gives up on us.

And no matter how many times you stumble (or go two weeks without exercising . . . ahem), don’t give up on yourself. Get back up. Again and again and again.

Don’t count yourself out.

Don’t disqualify yourself.

Keep going.

Hang in there.

Remain steadfast.

Be persistent.

Because this time is different, remember?

I’m so proud of you for the changes you’ve already made. And I know this really is just the beginning for all of us.

A wonderful, hope-filled beginning to a changed, healthy lifestyle and a heart filled with peace.

I leave you with this challenge from Lysa:

Make your next choice a courageous, persevering choice!

Now, tell us in the comment section, what has been one of your courageous choices during our study? What is your next courageous choice?

I’ll go first.

One courageous choice I have made during our study is to really, REALLY look at my eating habits – what I’m putting in my mouth and how much I’m eating – and make the changes necessary for my health and not just satisfy my taste buds. Every day it is a choice I have to make. It has not become natural yet for me to choose a nutrition-rich smoothie for breakfast over chocolate chip pancakes, but it is getting easier. The change for me (this time) is seeing God’s plan and desire for me to live healthy not only spiritually but physically, too. By doing so I can be more productive and effective with the tools He has placed in my hands to share Him with the world. It feels great to honor God with my body and my choices in this area, too.

Can’t wait to hear your answers and see your photos!

Peace, love, and OBS,

Shelly

Now, let’s get to hopping! 🙂

Every Thursday during this study will be a journey Through the Lens (meaning we’ll share photos instead of words). Share your favorite photo based on our theme for the week or create an original using your favorite photo editor. Host your photo somewhere on the web and then paste the link here just like we did for our Blog Hop. (See steps 1-4 in the picture below)

Choose one of the following photo themes:

  • Bridging the Gap ~“Perseverance bridges the gap between the trial and the blessing of becoming mature and complete, not lacking anything” (page 126). For fun, share a picture of your favorite bridge (from your home town or from some of your travels) as a reminder that we are becoming mature and complete.
  • Joy Marker ~ In Session Five, Lysa says, “We need to stake signposts of joy — joy markers – along our pathway of perseverance.” Share an image or create a word picture that serves as a Joy Marker for you.
  • God Is Love ~ God has a way of reminding us of His love in fun, creative ways if we will take time to see and listen. Look for a heart this week somewhere in your surroundings. Take a picture and share with us! (For example: a heart-shaped leaf, heart-shaped foam in your cappuccino or latte, heart-shaped cloud, etc)
