Limitless Life Blog Hop – Week 4

P31 OBS Blog Hop

Sweet, beautiful, Jesus-loving friends,

I have good news today. God is doing great things! And He is totally setting us up in this study.

I think every label we’ve thrown off and replaced thus far runs us smack dab into the middle of Chapter Eight this week: From Purposeless to Purposeful.

Every label of defeat we remove and every label of promise we put on reveal another part of who we are in Christ. And the more we discover our identity, the clearer our purpose becomes.

Thousands of women armed with purpose, knowledgeable and secure in their identity in Christ, can change the world around them.

Isn’t that exciting?!

That’s YOU, my friend. You can change your world.

We’re not here to build a social club. We are here to link arms with our sisters far and wide and make a difference. This is about Kingdom building.

Today, we are using our voices to make a difference by sharing our words, our testimonies, and most importantly the powerful, life-changing, life-giving, life-sustaining Word of God. Each blog represents an arm reaching out to its own community, its own sphere of influence.

We were reminded in Chapter Seven and on the blog Tuesday that we are ambassadors. His mission is our mission.

And today is filled with divine possibilities.

Time to represent, girls! Let’s do this!

Speaking and acting on behalf of our King,

Shelly

Time to Blog Hop (use our abilities, share from our platform, spread His Kingdom on earth)!

A few ways you can participate are:

  • Link to your blog (if you have one) after writing about one of this week’s topics
  • Pick one (or more) blog(s) to read and leave some encouraging comments
  • Choose one of this week’s topics and write about it in the comment section

(For those of you linking your blogs, we do have a few rules to follow so that things stay neat, tidy and relevant. If you have any questions about what to do or how to do it, click here to read the Blog Hop 101 post. )

Limitless Life Blog Hop ~ Week 3

So, it’s Week 3. And I know exactly what that means. It means we are almost halfway through this amazing study and YOU are still going strong! Yay!! But it also means that some of you are tired and really having to push forward to finish.

One of this week’s chapters is perfect for this very moment. (Don’t you love how God works these little details out? How He not only goes with us but also goes before us and makes provision for our every need?)

In Chapter Six, From Religious to Grace-Covered, Derwin says, “Works-based righteousness produces performance-based living, which suffocates our souls. It’s limiting.”

I know this life of performance-based living. I’ve lived it and it almost destroyed me. After years of performing and pleasing and working in and for ministry, my husband and I found ourselves burned out, worn out, and distant in our relationship with Jesus. God graciously lifted us out and gently drew us to Himself where we were restored, refreshed, renewed and introduced to love and grace as we had never known before.

You see, we don’t have to finish this study so that God will be pleased with us. He’s already pleased with us.

We don’t have to finish it so that He will love and accept us. He already loves and accepts us.

Derwin nails it when he says, “Many Christ-followers try to live for God’s acceptance, love, and blessings instead of living from God’s love, acceptance, and blessings to us based on the Jesus’ accomplishments for us.

Jesus has already accomplished and provided everything we need to have and walk and live in relationship with our heavenly Father.

So, as we move forward, let’s do more than just finish. Let’s do more than just check off our assignments each day.

Are you suffocating a little? Take a deep breath right now. Allow God to breathe into you winds of refreshment, renewal and restoration.

Peer into these scriptures expecting to see Him. Press in to our study ready to know Him. Turn the pages with desire to live and abide in His very presence. It’s not about performance and doing. It’s about knowing and becoming.

“Let the floodgates of God’s grace sweep you off your feet.”

Love and grace, grace, grace,

Shelly

P.S. ~ We can’t wait to read how God has revealed Himself to you through this week’s study!

SO . . . Let’s get this party started!

A few ways you can participate are:

Limitless Life Blog Hop ~ Week 2

Hey friends! It’s Shelly here for our Week 2 Blog Hop! How are you?? Wait, I already know. You girls are AMAZING. 😉

Seriously. These first two weeks have been incredible. And I’m not just talking about the Blog Hop.

The way you share and encourage and love in this space – YOU make this community great.

You are brave, you are strong, and my goodness . . . you are ripping those labels off!

God is transforming our stories. He is gifting new beginnings and restoring hope! He is healing brokenness and redeeming what has been lost! He is taking what the enemy meant for evil and preparing to use it for good!

He is nourishing dry and weary souls with the beautiful, life-giving, life-sustaining truth of His Word!

He is changing our mess into a masterpiece! And no matter the size of that messy place you find yourself in, God can and will take what the enemy has meant to harm you with and use it for good!

Blog Hop 101 & Community

I sometimes get overwhelmed when I sit and think about all God has done in this place. In me. In you. In us.

It really is amazing.

You see, these Online Bible Studies are more than just reading books together and checking off a list of assignments completed.

This is our gathering place.

Women, sisters, and friends gather here from all over the world – connected by the desire to know God more.

In this pursuit of knowing God more we can’t help but be known, too. Known by God and known by others.

Often this requires scary vulnerability and walking through some pretty uncomfortable places. 2 Timothy3:16 says scripture is “useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness.” So, as we read God’s Word daily, we are exposed, rebuked, encouraged, convicted, and much, much more. And some of that can be uncomfortable, right?

In community, we can walk together through these places that sometimes stretch us and cause (spiritual) growing pains. We can support each other, pray for each other, and share with each other.

[field name=video]

If you saw my video above (if not, click here) you heard me say that community is about sharing and that we were going to give you the opportunity to practice that sharing!

So . . . every Thursday on the blog (right here) during this study we will have a Blog Hop. Don’t have a blog? No worries. There are several ways to participate. Pick one or more ways that work best for you.

  • Link your blog (if you have one)
  • Pick one (or more) blog(s) to read and leave some encouraging comments
  • Choose one of the topics and write about it in the comment section

We do have a few rules to follow so that things stay neat, tidy, and relevant.

  • First, you must have a blog to be able to link up. Otherwise, you won’t have a link to share, right? Remember, the blog hop is optional. You don’t have to blog, but you can still participate by visiting some of your sisters here who do. And you can share in the comment section right here on this page. See how there’s something for everyone? I love that.
  • Second, choose your topic. You must choose one of our provided topics. It’s like a big Sunday school classroom and everyone gets to join in the discussion about our lesson for the week. Use the topic as your blog post title or mention it somewhere in your post so that everyone is clear about which one you chose.
  • Once you publish your post on your blog, copy your permalink to your clipboard. The permalink is the link to your specific blog post and not just to your main blog. This way when someone from our community visits, they go straight to the topic at hand. Click here to view a ‘How-To’ video.OR click here for printable instructions.
  • Come back here to our Blog Hop, find the ‘Add your link’ button near the bottom of the post, and paste your permalink in the space provided. You’ll also be prompted to add your name, email, and select a photo icon.
  • Congrats! You’re done! Now just wait a few seconds, refresh the page, and you should see your icon.
  • As a courtesy, read and comment on the blog linked up in front of yours.
  • Don’t forget to add our Blog Hop button to your blog so that others can find their way here to participate.

Of course, if you have any questions please feel free to leave them in the comment section. We will do our best to answer as quickly as possible.

Let’s practice linking up today! Here’s our topic:

  • COMMUNITY – What does community mean to you? What do you need from community? What can you give to community?
