I Love Proverbs 31 Ministries!

One of the things I love best about my job at Proverbs 31 Ministries is getting to see first hand the work God does in transforming lives through this ministry. It’s absolutely crazy amazing. And it happens everyday. Check out this video~

Join us on the front lines! from Proverbs 31 Ministries on Vimeo.

I love that video so much because I can relate. I was once, and really still am, a woman who receives much from Proverbs 31 Ministries.

It was eighteen years ago when I first learned about Proverbs 31. My 2nd child had just been born and even though I had a wonderful family and friends, I was lonely. I felt very inadequate as a wife and mom. Proverbs 31 Ministries became my mentor in walking with me daily, guiding and teaching me what a personal relationship with Jesus looked like. I learned how to bring my faith to life for myself and in the lives of my family. I can’t believe I get to be a part of that today. Not only do I work at Proverbs 31 Ministries, but I’m also a monthly partner. I don’t have to give money to this ministry, I GET TO give money to this ministry. And by doing so, I’ve become a small part of bringing God’s peace, purpose, and perspective to the lives of women all across the world. Proverbs 31 Ministries changed my life. My family and I will forever be grateful to God and P31.

Maybe you too have been blessed by Proverbs 31 Ministries.  If so, would you consider joining us? Below are ways you can be a part of all God is doing through P31.

1. Prayer. This is the best thing anyone can do for our ministry. Would you pray for Proverbs 31 Ministries?

  • Pray right now.
  • Pray once a week. (Hey, that’s 52 times a year!)
  • Pray daily.

2. Giving. We are able to do what we do at Proverbs 31 because of the financial gifts God has provided through people like you.  No amount is too small or too big. One dollar helps! When I look at what this community did through Dove’s Nest during our Yes to God study (you all gave over $28,000!!!) all through the combination of small and large gifts, I am still blown away! Never underestimate what God can do through our gifts. Online Bible Studies are possible for FREE to all of us because there are people out there giving to financially support this ministry!

3. Volunteer.

  • Do you live in the Charlotte, NC area?  We need regular volunteers we can count on. Email nicki@proverbs31.org if you can help!

4. Encourage. Ministry can be difficult at times. Our office is always grateful when we hear from our P31 community.

  • Send a card to the P31 office. 630 Team Rd. Suite 100, Charlotte, NC  28105
  • Email a prayer to the P31 office. prayer@proverbs31.org
  • Let us know how P31 has impacted your life. Click here to tell us your story.

Thank you so much for being a part of this OBS community. I love y’all dearly!

Here in the United States we are celebrating Thanksgiving this week. One of the things I’m most thankful for is you. That’s the truth.

Thank you so much for your support! We need you and we truly love our community of women from all over the world. You are a big blessing to me personally and to our entire team and staff.

Yes to God Week 6 Prayer & Praises

I am sure that many of you have read the story in the Bible where Jesus is preaching to thousands and it’s starting to get late.  Everyone gets a little hungry and Jesus’ disciples encourage Jesus to send the people away to get something to eat because they just don’t have enough money to buy food to feed everyone.  From out of the crowd steps a young man who offers up his small lunch of 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread.  From that small act of obedience Jesus not only feeds everyone, but ends up with TWELVE baskets of leftovers!  (You can read the story in John 6:1-15)  What an amazing story of how Jesus can take the small offering and use it in a big way.

The awesome news is that God is the same yesterday and TODAY!  You may not have offered up some bread and fish, but many of you offered up your time, your talents and your hearts with some small gifts to reach out to broken women and show them and their children that they are loved.  God has multiplied your gift to touch so many lives!  And it doesn’t have to end with that.  You are a woman who says YES! to God.  As Melissa said in her video Wednesday, all we have to do is open our eyes to the opportunities He places before us.

I call the story above the lesson of 5’s and 2’s.  While Jesus used 5 loaves and 2 fish, He has given us our own 5’s and 2’s to use in blessing others.  We have 5 fingers on each hand and 5 toes on each foot.  We have 2 hands and 2 feet each.  With these we can reach out to others through our actions and show them God’s love.  We can be His hands and feet in this world and He can use our small acts of obedience to provide sustenance, love, compassion, and to provide for the physical and emotional needs of so many-all we have to do is open our eyes to the opportunities and be willing to use our 5’s and 2’s to say Yes to God.  Are you ready?

Teresa of Avila quote

Today I encourage you to share with us your 5 and 2 stories, not as a way to toot our own horn, but as a way to show how God can still use small offerings in a big way.  As always, we also encourage you to share your prayer requests and praises with us so that we can join with you in lifting them up to God.

We Said Yes

The LORD has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.
Psalm 118:24 NIV

Here we are closing in on a Bible study that made an impact on God’s Yes Girls!  I cannot believe we are at the end of Week 6 and we’ve had some great #ISaidYes moments!

Yesterday was a big day for Proverbs 31 Online Bible Studies! We had a few of our OBS gals gather at the Proverbs 31 Office for a fun “Open Mail for Dove’s Nest” party!

We had such a wonderful time going through the thousands and thousands of notes, pictures, cards, prayers, and Bible verses personally selected and made for the Dove’s Nest residents. And all of this is possible because We Said Yes!

Check this video out that we made after we finished opening all the fun mail! If you can’t see the video just below this sentence, click here to view it.

Thank you, ALL OF YOU for making this What Happen When Women Say Yes to God Online Bible Study so amazing and special! We couldn’t do it without you!

Come back tomorrow when we will be celebrating God with praises and prayer!

I will be in touch with you very soon!

Love you so so so much! I really do! <3

#Yes To God Blog Hop ~ Week 6

I’m not good at saying goodbye, so let’s not, okay? Let’s just say, “See ya later!”

You are joining us for our next study anyway, right? 🙂

I know I’ve said it before, but I want to say it again. Thank you for being a part of this community. You are important here, and we could not do this without you. And thank you for allowing me to lead our discussion and blog hop every Thursday. I assure you, this great privilege is not taken lightly. Together, we are being changed, and together we are helping to change the world.

How do I know change is taking place? Because you told me.

  • “I believe this OBS study was designed for my life for ‘such a time as this.’ Honestly, I don’t know how I would have come out of my situation without having said YES to God almost 5 weeks ago and continuing with this study up until now. I believe I will finish the race strong. It is in saying YES to Him that has made all the difference in my life.” (Vanessa)
  • I am finding my life changed because of this study.” (Amy)
  • Thank you so much for this study. I am a changed woman! My heart has been broken and my mind renewed. I feel fresh and truly happy for the first time in years. I have found my precious savior’s face once again. Thank you Jesus!” (Jennifer)
  • This study has changed my life. I now have a personal relationship with my Lord and Savior, and I praise him every chance I get and I study His word morning and night and any chance in between.” (Lisa)

There is evidence of the power of His Word all around us and within us.

Power to transform.

Power to heal.

Power to change.

Power to renew.

Power to love.

And dear friends, He loves us too much to leave us where we are.

We’ve come a long way, but let’s not stop here. Let’s continue our journey. Let’s keep the faith. Let’s press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling that is in Christ Jesus.

As we take time to pause until our next study, let’s remember what God has done and let’s also look forward with great anticipation and expectation of what is yet to come!

Keep seeking Him!

Might we pray together today?

Dear Lord, we love you. There is no one on earth and no one in the heavens who compares to You. Your love is amazing and Your sweet presence is indescribable. Our soul longs for You. To sit at Your feet, this is our heart’s desire. To know You and to be known by You, this is the greatest of gifts. Fill us up. Let us live in expectation of hearing You and seeing You every single day. Pour into us that we might, in return, pour out onto those around us. Be glorified in all that we say and do. You alone are God. We give You praise, and we thank You for loving us. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Some ending thoughts from Lysa TerKeurst in Chapter 9:

  • The mark of a truly godly woman is one who reveals the power of God not so much in her doing as in her being.
  • Our hearts search for deeper meaning in life, and radically obedient people find it in loving the Lord, loving others He brings in our path, and continually seeking to become more like Jesus.

Please feel free to share in the comment section how studying God’s Word has made a difference in your life. Also, let me know if you’re going to be here for the next study!

See ya later!
