Radically Blessed

Two things happen when we say yes to God.

  1. We come up against opposition and obstacles that could keep up from being obedient.
  2. We experience radical blessings.

If you can’t see the Radically Blessed video message above, click here.

Let’s Hear From You~

What is the opposition in your life that could keep you from saying yes to God?

What are some radical blessings you are or could experience as a result of saying yes to God?

Coming Up~

My Thoughts vs. God’s Word

Did you happen to read the Proverbs 31 Encouragement for Today devotion yet? If so, you know that I wrote it. And you also know one of my big struggles…entertaining the lies of the enemy.

Welcome to our Proverbs 31 Devotion subscribers! You have entered a place that I call home, the Proverbs 31 Online Bible Studies Blog. It is my hope that you will feel at home here. We have a fabulous community of women from all over the world! Seriously, over 120 countries represented here. This is a place we study God’s Word, share life, keep it very real, grow, learn, and dream!

We are currently in our last week of What Happens When Women Say Yes to God and eagerly anticipating our next study, A Confident Heart.

A Confident Heart will help us move forward in life and kick the doubt and condemning thoughts out of the way. I want to invite each of you to join this next Online Bible Study. If you do, you will be amazed at what God can do through you once the negative muck is removed from your mind. Negative thoughts are a huge obstacle for women who have said yes to God. They can hold us back and cripple our good intentions. We don’t want that to happen.

Look in the top right of this page and you will see a sign up form. Fill it out and you will be signed up for A Confident Heart Online Bible Study. (Yes girls, you will need to sign up for the new study if you plan to continue receiving P31 OBS emails.)

All you need to participate in this study is the book, A Confident Heart by Renee Swope. Renee will be signing and including a Bible verse specifically prayed over for you, to the first 4000 who order their books from Proverbs 31 Ministries.

We have a free gift for you today. Just look in the right column of this page just below the Sign up form. There is a tab that says, “Download Yes to God Personalized Verses.”  Click that and you will have some verses just for you! When you open this tab, there will be instructions for you to insert your own name into each verse.

Yes Girls, keep going this week. Work on the questions at the end of Chapter 8 then begin reading Chapter 9, Radically Blessed. I have a message for you tomorrow about being Radically Blessed and what to do with radical blessings.

Let’s Hear From You~

Will you be joining us for the next Proverbs 31 Online Bible Study, A Confident Heart?

How do you plan to apply this verse to your life?

“Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence”  (1 John 3:18-19)

Make it a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Giving Up What Was Never Ours

Yesterday’s post contained a video in which I shared something that I had to give up that just about crushed me. If you missed it, watch it now here.

This chapter, Giving Up What Was Never Ours reminded me so much of your response to our Dove’s Nest outreach project. So many of you set aside time to pray, time to write Bible verses to encourage, time to get creative and make gifts that would bless, and resources that could be used by Dove’s Nest to provide needed services, care, and items for their residents. You gave what was never yours. God is using it right now.

Just because our outreach project is coming to an end doesn’t mean our giving needs to. I pray you will pray about how you can continue to give in your area. It doesn’t need to be a big project. It can be making a meal for a friend, cleaning a new mom’s house for her, writing Scripture cards and mailing them to a place in your town like Dove’s Nest, giving away a Bible, or giving someone your CD so they can enjoy the music. The possibilities are endless!

God owns it all. We are simply managers of His resources.

We have 2 chapters to cover this week, so get started with Chapter 8, Giving Up What Was Never Ours.

Memory Verse for Week 6

The LORD has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.
Psalm 118:24 (NIV)

Phrase/Hashtag of the Week

Let’s share with our friends here in Online Bible Studies and the world our #ISaidYes moments. I just had a BIG ONE this week! I’m not ready to share it yet, but it’s something that I’m so afraid of failing…which is why I decided to say yes. I know God doesn’t want me to step out in fear, but in obedience. #ISaidYes

Yes To God Blog Hop – Week 6

  1. #ISaidYes – Share what you have said yes to and what led to your decision of obedience

  2. A Heart At Rest – How has saying yes to God through this study helped you find a heart at rest?

  3. The Great Life – Share what Psalm 81:10 means to you.

  4. On page 143 Lysa challenges us to pray for the next 30 days asking God to reveal Himself to us and fill us with a desire for him like never before. Write your prayer here.

Are you sad to see this study come to an end?  This study will be over at the end of this week, but that doesn’t mean that your Bible study needs to end. Join us for our NEXT Online Bible Study, beginning October 13, 2013! You can sign up TODAY right here!  Just look in the top right column. I hope you will continue with us as we move from being women who say Yes to God, to women who say Yes to God with A Confident Heart!

Let’s hear from you~

What does “giving up what was never yours” mean to you? Do you have any #ISaidYes moments to share? I love reading your comments and how God is working in you! It motivates and inspires me to #StickWithIt and keep my #PalmsUp! And I know it blesses all of the ladies in this study.

Yes to God Week 5 Prayer & Praises

Fresh start.  Fresh passion.  Fresh focus.  The Bible is full of stories about people who turned their lives around when they focused on God.  People like Naomi who had felt alone and bitter but the obedient actions of Ruth brought her back to God and the realization that God will provide for her if she just focuses on Him.  People like Esther, who felt lost in a crowd and unable to really affect anything and yet she stepped out in obedience and saved the lives of so many when she focused on God.  People like the woman who washed Jesus’ feet with her hair and anointed Him with perfume despite being ridiculed for her actions.  Her act so touched Jesus that He made sure it was spoken of for thousands of years.

I love that Lysa opened this chapter with a story of ….well, let’s be honest and call it what it is-selfishness.  She wanted what she wanted and she wanted it now.  We have all had moments like that.  Moments where we aren’t shining for Jesus, where we may even wish Jesus couldn’t see our actions once we take the time to reflect on them.  Girls, I’m here to tell you NOT to let those times keep you from your purpose.  Guess what?  God uses people who mess up and He uses them a LOT.

So, if you haven’t yet, allow yourself to have a fresh start today.  Right now.  Find your white space and spend some time with God.  Ask Him to fill you with His presence.  Then spend some time in worship to gain some fresh passion.  And finally, focus.  Don’t let the things of this world draw you away from the Creator of all.  God has a unique calling for each and every one of you, and while you may not be married to a king, you do serve one.  You may not save the lives of a nation, but you could save the eternal life of one person.  Isn’t that enough?

Stand strong as we enter the last week of this study.  God’s not finished yet, and neither are we!
