Info About Our Next Online Study

I am so thrilled to be studying Made to Crave again in my online studies! While the book does focus on food related issues, we will be dealing with all cravings in this study. If you suffer from craving anything and find yourself turning to that instead of the Lord, this study is for you. Food, alcohol, substance abuse, relationships, approval, perfection, exercise, work,sleep…WHATEVER….we will be touching on it all. I can’t wait to begin this journey with you. This is truly one of the best books I have ever read. There is a reason why it’s been on the New York Time’s Best Seller’s list for almost a year! We will begin our journey together and kick off 2012 in the best kind of way. Looking forward to studying with you <3

Sign up for this online study in the right side bar of this blog. Just type in your name and email address and you will receive all the details you need to get ready for this life transforming study. (After you sign up, you will receive an email from me. FYI~ I am going to use the Action Plan during my Made to Crave journey. This is a personal choice. The action plan contains a “How to” for those of us looking for healthy information, guidelines, knowledge, and a plan. I will be using the new Made to Crave Devotional following the six week study to keep me mindful and encouraged after the study is over.

How I Feel About Studying the Bible with Others~and why I’d like you to join me.

It’s changed my life time and time again. I’ve grown closer to God, closer to the ones I’m with, and made lifelong friends. I’ve learned to be content and now I know what freedom feels like. I have hope even when my relationships and circumstances are failing. What am I talking about? I’m talking about the benefits of joining and participating in a Bible study group. Not just any Bible study group, but a real life, real problems, no mask wearing allowed Bible study group. One where you can be yourself and know that you are loved and cared for NO MATTER WHAT.

Bible study has been a priority in my life for years. The women I’ve studied with have become like sisters and have been the Jesus with skin on I’ve needed in my life. They’ve encouraged me, held me accountable, and spoken real Truth to me when I’ve needed it most. Through the books we’ve studied together (all based on the best book, the Bible), we’ve grown in many ways, but especially in our personal relationship with Jesus. Life changing I tell ya!

I want to share this experience with you. If you’ve wanted to be a part of something like this, I invite you to join me and other women just like us, from all over the world as we dive into the Truth that will give us Real Hope for Real Life today.

Love and Blessings!

Refresh and Satisfy

I was given a verse today by a dear friend. I read it. I closed my eyes. I could feel the tears slipping through the outer and inner corners of my eyes.

“I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.” -Jeremiah 31:25

I’m tired. I’ve been sick. I’m broken. I’m in need. In my mind, thoughts race. In my head I think clearly. I only wish my head would communicate better with my body and heart.

“I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.”

God’s Word has power like no other. And right here in the pages of His Word to us contains this promise to refresh and satisfy.

What a wonderful verse to begin the new year with. The promise that God will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint. That’s a promise no one else can make and keep. But He can and He will.

Join me in opening your heart today to receive God’s Word for you. Maybe it’s this verse from Jeremiah. Maybe it’s another one. Please share and let’s begin this year by praying God’s Word over each other.

Thank you for a fabulous 2011!  The online Bible studies we’ve done together, your online friendship, your words of encouragement, and the sharing of your hearts with me have blessed me beyond any descriptive words I could list here! May God bless you and I’m looking forward to an even better 2012!

I’m praying refreshment and satisfaction from the Lord for each of you.

Happy New You/Give Away Alert

**to sign up for the Made to Crave Online study, fill out the information blanks in the right column of this blog**

Happy New You!

I love the beginning of a New Year! I know each day God’s mercies are new, but something about a new year brings big new hope to my heart.

I know many people balk at New Year’s Resolutions. Well I love them! Do I keep them all?  Well, of course not. But I try and usually they help to bring some purpose to what’s ahead in the coming year.

Don’t judge me now, but I’m going to share my 2012 Goals with you. (I like the word goals better than resolutions. Just sayin.’)  Some are shallow and some are truly heartfelt.

1. To lose approx. 25 pounds (through healthy diet, exercise, and turning to Jesus instead of food! MTC)

2. To stand up for myself, but remain calm, think clearly, then react.

3. To keep loving people the best I can (that’s all I can do, gotta forgive and move on when it doesn’t work out).

4. To not care so much about what others think about me and not to be so sensitive (I’ll let you know how this works for me!).

5. Give up mercy as my main spiritual gift (it’s a blessing and a curse…I’m really just kidding about this…we joke about this at the office because I carry other people’s burdens so heavily and cry easily).

6. Be the best wife, mom, friend, leader, teacher, encourager possible. Quality over quantity.

7. To read Jesus Calling everyday.

8. Pray everyday.

9. To realize when I’ve done all I can do and turn it over to God.

These will be posted on my refrigerator, desk, and dash board of my car just as reminders.

My success will not be measured by how much I achieve or if I reach every goal. They are goals, not identities. I’ll do my best, may adjust some, but work towards a Happy New Me!  🙂

Before I close I want to share  poem that a friend posted on my FB page this week. It’s perfect for the New Year:

People are often unreasonable,
… illogical and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind,
people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful,
you will win some false friends and true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank,
people may cheat you;
Be honest anyway.

What you spend years building,
someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness,
they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today,
people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have,
and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis,
it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway. ~ Mother Teresa

Happy New Year and Happy New You to all of you!  <3
