While You’re Waiting …

"While You're Waiting ..." by Melissa Taylor | Proverbs 31 Online Bible Studies | #WaitAndSee #P31OBSHi, Wait and See OBS’ers! (That’s all our friends in Online Bible Studies!) It’s Melissa Taylor, director of Online Bible Studies, checking in with you today!

Waiting for this OBS to start is SO HARD for me. I’m just too excited to work through this process with you. But we do have a few weeks before it officially begins.

As we’re waiting to begin, I wanted to give you a few verses to keep close by. Because maybe you’re starting to feel a little restless, too?

So, when waiting feels restless, here are five “waiting verses” we can hold onto:

1.) While we’re waiting, we can seek God.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” –Matthew 6:33 (ESV)

2.) While we’re waiting, we can be assured.

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”
–Hebrews 11:1 (ESV)

3.) While we’re waiting, we can stay confident.

“Yet I am confident I will see the LORD’s goodness
    while I am here in the land of the living.

Wait patiently for the LORD.
    Be brave and courageous.
    Yes, wait patiently for the LORD.”
–Psalm 27:13-14 (NLT)

4.) While we’re waiting, we can keep trusting.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.”
–Proverbs 3:5 (NLT)

5.) While we’re waiting, we can place our hope on the Lord.

“I am counting on the LORD;
    yes, I am counting on him.
    I have put my hope in his word.”
–Psalm 130:5 (NLT)

Even though waiting is hard, there’s a lot we can do while we wait. And I hope these verses will give you strength whenever you start to feel restless through this process! Also, while you wait, click here to order your Wait and See book!

A Little Pre-Study Homework

"A Little Pre-Study Homework" by Kendra Schwarz | Proverbs 31 Online Bible Studies | #WaitAndSee #P31OBSHey
Wait and See, OBSers! I’m Kendra Schwarz, the Creative Content Coordinator for Proverbs 31 Online Bible Studies, and I have a little pre-study assignment for you …

PSYCH! We don’t really have a homework assignment for you today. We know your life is crazy. And that’s exactly why I’m here to tell you about the different options we have for you to make THIS study YOUR study, without feeling overwhelmed. Let’s jump right in, shall we?

The Basic Version: (for those who need the bare minimum)

  • Engage in the Bible Study — The main resources for our studies are your Bible, our blog and the Wait and See study book. They’re all you need to do this study. And once you’re registered, we’ll email you the blog content each time there’s a new post!
  • Get Involved in Our Community — At the end of each blog post there’s a “Let’s Chat” section with questions to ponder. We invite you to answer those in our Comments section throughout the study. You can also read and reply to other comments there. This helps build community (which we’re ALL about here at OBS). The more we connect, the more we each get out of the study!

The Extra Options Version: (for those wanting a bit more)

  • Social Media — Join us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram! On these optional social sites, you will see encouraging posts, engaging questions and updates about what’s going on in the study. We can’t wait to chat with you there! For real.
  • Events — We’re all about fun, so we offer different optional events during each study. You can SAVE THE DATE for these Wait and See events, then see what works in your schedule. We’ll add reminders on the blog the week these happen, too.

    • Facebook Party — Tuesday, November 8 at 8 p.m. ET. Click here to see where it’s happenin’.
    • The #P31OBS Twitter Party — Tuesday, November 15 at 9 p.m. ET. Click here to join us for the rapid-fire par-tay!
    • Bible Study LIVE — These events happen EVERY Thursday at 8 p.m. during the study! Join us on Facebook to dig deeper into God’s Word with OBSers from all over the world. {Please note, there won’t be an event on November 24 due to the U.S.A. Thanksgiving holiday.}
  • Conference Call Series — We’re takin’ this Bible study thing to another level! Wednesdays at 11 a.m. ET, we’ll have biblical teaching by four of our P31 authors/speakers. They’re recorded so you won’t miss a beat. Click here to learn more.
