He’s Not Finished With Us Yet

“Me, Myself, and Lies” Study Leader, Melissa Taylor | Proverbs 31 Online Bible Studies | #NoMoreLies #P31OBSQuestion: Are you the woman you want to be? This question makes me stop and think a bit. But, I have good news. Together we can become women we’ve always wanted to be.

Think back to who you were when you were younger. What were your dreams? What were you hoping for? Were you full of excitement and expectation of all this life would offer you? I’ve come to find that as we get older, we tend to lose a part of us. Not intentionally but through different trials, life circumstances and situations.

Our next Online Bible Study, Worthy, is a study based on the newly released book She’s Still There: Rescuing the Girl in You by Chrystal Evans Hurst! We’re going on a journey to find direction, purpose and most importantly, we’re going to find hope. Hope in God’s Word knowing He’s not finished with us yet.

And that journey begins September 5. Y’all. It’s going to be so good. Through this study you will:

  • Recognize the woman you were meant to be as you set out on a journey to find direction, purpose and true satisfaction.
  • Realize how valuable you are, regardless of where you are in life, as you receive the encouragement you need to pursue your passions.
  • Find the hope and answers you’re looking for as you learn how to study God’s Word in a meaningful and personal way.

The next Proverbs 31 Online Bible study is on the book, "She's Still There" by Chrystal Evans Hurst! Study starts September 5. Learn more and sign up here --> http://www.proverbs31.org/online-bible-studies/ #ShesStillThere #P31OBS

So, will you join me? I hope you say yes and click here to register! I don’t want to do it alone and I think it’s going to be one for the books.

Okay, friend. Rest up, enjoy the rest of your summer and I’ll see you right here on September 5.

We Can Do This!

"Me, Myself, and Lies" Study Leader, Angela Diemer | Proverbs 31 Online Bible Studies | #NoMoreLies #P31OBSIt’s Friday! You’ve made it through the first full week of study — great job! Hey there, I’m Angela Diemer, your other summer study leader. Thanks for joining me here on the blog today.

I’m wondering, did anyone else have the sudden urge to go clean their bedroom closets after reading through Chapters 1 and 2? Because I did! But then I quickly closed the closet door, after I saw the extent of the mess.

It would be awesome if I could poof my bedroom closet into getting clean and organized. But even as cool as that would be, it’s not going to happen. I actually need to get in there, right in the middle of the mess, and do the work!

It’s the same thing with cleaning out our thought closets. It’s not gonna just happen on it’s own. We need to get all up in there, as messy as it may be.

I wanted to encourage you with a Scripture I recently read out of the Old Testament, Haggai 2:4b-5. I love how The Message version phrases it, saying:

“’Yes, get to work! For I am with you.’ The GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies is speaking! ‘Put into action the word I covenanted with you when you left Egypt. I’m living and breathing among you right now. Don’t be timid. Don’t hold back.’”

Don’t you love that — “get to work”God is with usPut it into action … “Don’t be timid … Don’t hold back.” Words we can grab a hold of!  Ladies, we too can be freed from our captivity — the captivity of lies — by remembering and turning these words into action!

We want to think good things about ourselves, right? And we want others to see the good things in us, too. Did you catch what Jennifer Rothschild shared on page 21, of how those two things correlate with one another? She said:

“You are a reflection of the way you think.”

"You are a reflection of the way you think." - Jennifer Rothschild #NoMoreLies | Proverbs 31 Online Bible Studies Week 1 #P31OBS

That came straight out of the Bible! Truth found in Proverbs 23:7a (NASB):

“For as he thinks within himself, so he is.”

Summer study gals, it’s time to take inventory of our thoughts and do some lie tossing, deciding what needs to go, and what needs to stay! But guess what? We don’t have to do it alone.

Remember what Haggai 2:4-5 said? Go ahead, it’s okay to pop back and read it again …

Yes! God is with us, living and breathing amongst us! So let’s stop holding back, and get to work on those thought closets. Are you ready? We can’t wait to do this with you over the next four weeks!

Hey, before you go, come join me in the Let’s Chat section below. See you there!

Let’s end this week by sharing one good truth nugget about ourselves in the comments. I’d also love to hear about your favorite part from Chapters 1 and 2.

P.S. If you haven’t received your book yet, no worries! You can download the first three chapters here for free.

The Whole Enchilada {Week 1 Bible Study}

“Me, Myself, and Lies” Study Leader, Trish Cordell | Proverbs 31 Online Bible Studies | #NoMoreLies #P31OBSHey there, everyone!  My name is Trish Cordell, and I’m excited to be one of your study leaders this summer. I just have to tell you, I’m so happy you’re here! This study couldn’t come at a more perfect time! Don’t you agree?

Not only am I happy you’re joining us, I can’t wait for y’all to see what we have for you!

If you’re like me, when you have a meal, you don’t want pieces and parts, you want the whole enchilada! And that’s what we have for you every Wednesday this study.

OK, it’s not really an enchilada, but it’s something even better!

We have an amazing, downloadable/printable Bible study, penned by our very own Melissa Taylor and Sarah Travis, to help us dig further into God’s Truth and enhance our Me, Myself, and Lies OBS.

Join us on the blog for a FREE downloadable/printable Bible Study PDF to help you dig deeper into Week 1 of our "Me, Myself, & Lies" online Bible study. #NoMoreLies #P31OBS

In this week’s portion of the Bible study, Melissa helps us learn how to look at whole Bible verses to better understand the “big picture,” and Sarah teaches us Bible study skills on cross-referencing.

Don’t be scared! These are both easier than you think! And so beneficial for replacing lies with truth, too. So who’s ready to dig in? My hand is raised!

In case you missed the Bible study download in Monday’s post, you can still get yours and get started by clicking the button below. Please note: The download includes the entire Bible study for all five weeks of study, but this week we’re only working on the sections labeled for Week 1.

And in case you’re still waiting on your Me, Myself, and Lies book, no worries! You can download the first 3 chapters here. Happy Bible study day 🙂

One of my favorite things about our Bible studies is getting to know our OBSers! In this week’s Bible study, Sarah shares how she uses the ESV (English Standard Version) of the Bible when she digs into God’s Truth! I love my NLT (New Living Translation) Bible. Now it’s your turn! What version do you use? Can’t wait to connect with you in the comments!

Renewing Our Thought Closets {Week 1}

“Me, Myself, and Lies” Study Leader, Melissa Taylor | Proverbs 31 Online Bible Studies | #NoMoreLies #P31OBSDay 1 of Me, Myself, and Lies is finally here, and it couldn’t begin for me fast enough. At 50 years old, you’d think I’d be past this already. But the truth is, the battle of the mind is continuous and not age-selective.

Hi everyone! I’m Melissa, and it’s my honor and privilege to kick off our online Bible study of Me, Myself, and Lies by Jennifer Rothschild!

What do you say when you talk to yourself? Most likely, you’re like me and find yourself saying things in your head that aren’t the kinds of things God would want you saying! After all, you signed up for this study for a reason, right?

I had such a great conversation with author Jennifer Rothschild and P31 Content Manager, Kendra Schwarz. Join us as we learn why Jennifer, who’s blind by the way, wrote this book, and we discuss 3 questions to ask yourself to determine the condition of your “thought closet.”

Also, all of our videos are transcribed by some of our awesome volunteers. Click here to learn how you can access the closed captioning!

If you can’t view the video above, click here to watch on YouTube.

How much do you just love Jennifer Rothschild?! Doesn’t she make you feel like you’re joining a good friend as you embark on this Bible study? One thing I really loved from spending time with her is how much she truly cares about what we think. She’s experienced the confidence and freedom that comes from replacing those awful lies with goodness.

Here’s what you need to get started:

We have this awesome thing called the Study Companion. In case you missed it in last week’s pre-study posts, it has EVERYTHING you need to know about your Bible study each week, including weekly assignments, fun freebies, the first 3 chapters, and optional activities. Seriously, if you have a question or need something, it’s probably in there. Click the button below to get yours.

And as mentioned in the video, here are the links to the books we talked about and the Bible study for you to use during this OBS:

I’m looking forward to what we’ll learn this week, as we dive into God’s Word and read Me, Myself, and Lies!

Romans 12:2b (NIV) “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” | Proverbs 31 Online Bible Studies | Week 1 Verse | #NoMoreLies #P31OBS

Let’s Chat:

Before we begin, let’s make a pact. C’mon, I need everyone to do this with me. Changing our thought lives won’t come easy. We’ll need to stay focused and committed. So, let’s all agree right now that we’ll apply ourselves fully to replace the cruel self-talk with God-talk — soul talk — talk that builds us up. We’re willing to do what it takes. Are you with me?

Now’s the time to get a piece of paper, and write a declaration to yourself. Or call a friend or accountability partner, and decide together that you’ll do this. Share your declaration or statement of doing whatever it takes to make changes in your thought life.

See you in the comments section!

Putting the Fun in Your Bible Study – OBS Options!

“Listen, Love, Repeat” Study Leader, Kendra Schwarz | Proverbs 31 Online Bible Studies | #ListenLoveRepeat #P31OBSHi! I’m Kendra Schwarz, the creative content coordinator for Proverbs 31 Online Bible Studies. I’m all about fun. But when it comes to using the word “fun” with “Bible study,” I used to be a bit skeptical. Can Bible study be fun?

Well I’m about to show you YES, it sure can! Are you ready? It’s time to discover all of the fun options we have here at P31 OBS. And here’s the best part: Everything is optional (even reading the book, though we don’t advise skipping that part – haha).

Because all of these options are to help “sweeten” up your Bible study experience, below is a video that explains the options! Let’s just say it has to do with waffles, chocolate chips and whipped cream … click here to watch

Oh and fun fact! All of our videos are transcribed. Click here for instructions on how to turn on Closed Captioning..

Option #1: We are family (I got all my sisters with me!)
Here at P31 OBS, we are one, big, happy family. We join in community on our blog and on social media. We’d love for you to join us on all, or a few different, community-building platforms.

Option #2: Bible Study PDF’s
This is a NEW option in OBS, and we’re so happy you’re our first group of ladies to go through these with us! Every Tuesday and Thursday on the blog, you’ll receive a Bible study PDF to work through, based on a chapter of the Listen, Love, Repeat book. This does not replace the book, but it’s something we’ve made to accompany it, to help you dig deeper into God’s Word, if you choose.

Option #3: Teaching Series
This is the ONLY option that costs money (other than buying the trade book). The Listen, Love, Repeat Teaching Series is based on the letters written by Paul. We’ll learn how to encourage those God has entrusted to us. You’ll get more info about this option next week.

Option #4: Bible Study LIVE
We have a fast-paced and fun way to do Bible study! And do you want to know the best part? You can do it right on Facebook. Bible Study LIVE is an hour-long study session with your fellow OBSers. Sign me up! Below are the links to each event.

Option #5: Party like it’s 1999 (not really, but kind of!)
