Half-lit Christmas Tree

Before we packed away our Christmas tree last year, we noticed that several strands of lights had partially gone out.

The result was a half-lit Christmas tree. My husband Chad said, “It’s pretty, but without the lights, it just looks kind of sad.” He was right.

The patches where light illuminated the branches, ribbon and ornaments seemed alive with hope and beauty. The other places, even though they were decorated exactly the same, didn’t have any life to them.

Can I challenge you to look for the people in your work, school, neighborhood or church that seem to have all the right “trimmings” but just seem sad? Without the light of Christ, no matter the exterior decoration, their lives will seem dark and incomplete.

We can connect them with the one true source of hope and light that changes everything.
