Stored in a Safe Place

I have a terrible habit of hiding important things, things I don’t want to lose, in a good, safe place.

Well, that’s what I tell myself as I shove important documents in a random drawer. Unfortunately, I don’t always remember where that “safe place” is. Later, I can neither remember nor retrieve those really important things I truly need. It’s just so frustrating!

I wonder if that’s why we are told to “hide God’s Word in our hearts.” The treasury of truth found in Scripture is too precious to be shoved someplace, forgotten among all the stresses and ordinariness of our lives. If we store God’s Word intentionally in a safe place like our hearts, the Holy Spirit will be able to bring it to mind when we need it.

We’d love to help you treasure God’s Word in your heart, download our FREE app First 5, and spend your first moments of each day with God.
