Shining the Light of Jesus

Is a difficult situation pressing in on you?

Jesus came to be “The Light of the World.” But for this to happen, the prophecy of his beating, death and resurrection had to be fulfilled. His greatest hardship became our greatest hope.

How similar this is to what happens to olives. Isn’t it interesting that the olive tree was often part of the scenery of Jesus’ life on earth?

Getting what is most valuable from olives requires a lot of pounding and pressing. Their crushing produces oil for light. The hardest thing the olive endures actually holds the greatest potential to be light. Just like Jesus.

I have to remember the oil of my testimony holds the greatest potential to be the brightest light in this dark world.
