Trusting the Hands of God

I can struggle with trusting God when I’ve been deeply hurt by circumstances that I don’t understand.

That’s what happened when the man I thought I was going to marry told me he met someone else. It’s what happened when I didn’t get the job I was so certain was going to be the answer to all my financial problems.

In both of these situations, I eventually had to make a choice. I could either be consumed with my unmet longing, or trust that the plans of God were good even when they didn’t feel good right then.

I had to give up my plans so I could walk in God’s better plan.

Not give up as in being defeated, but giving up as in placing this desire in the hands of God and saying, “Either way, I will see Your answer as the good answer, and I’ll walk in trust.”
