He Stops to Listen

When my four guys hop in my car in the afternoon, there is usually a cacophony of sounds that accompany them — laughter, talking, rapid-fire questions and manic updates from the school day.

But most of that noise comes from my three youngest guys. Cooper, my oldest, is quiet and thoughtful. So, I have to be more intentional to pull conversation out of him.

I love that boy of mine with a ferocity that surprises me sometimes. It delights my heart to hear what’s on his.

Friend, to an exponentially greater degree, this is how God thinks about you. Throughout your day, He waits for you to open up to Him. Prayer is our opportunity to connect with the heart of God.

Don’t miss it. Even with the noise of the entire world clamoring, He stops to listen to you.
