Two of my guys run cross-country for their school.
We were driving them to a meet recently, and my husband Chad was asking the boys about their strategy. Ryder said that his coach told him to start strong, but not to run so hard that he got too tired to finish. He needed to have a little something left in the tank.
Sometimes we apply a similar strategy to the Christian life. But actually the power of Christ is made perfect in our weakness. I imagine our heavenly coach would give us a different strategy. I think He might say, “Run hard, run as fast as you can and wear yourself out. I’ll carry you the rest of the way, and we’ll finish strong.”
Friend, are you tapped out? Have you done all you can do in your race? Be encouraged; the power of Christ can carry you the rest of the way.
