No matter how many precautions we take, the truth is that nothing in life is certain.
So much about our lives today is defined by security measures. We strive to acquire safety nets to place under and around the things we care about the most. We look for jobs providing good benefits and a strong, solid retirement. We even take steps to protect our own identities. Those are good things.
But nothing in life is certain, and when we put all of our trust in any kind of security this world can offer, we misplace our hope. Circumstances change. We can lose jobs, money and even loved ones.
We can't stop or control the future, but we can make moment by moment choices to let our souls rest in God and God alone.
