Longing for Redemption {Week 5, Day 1}

October 12, 2020
“40 Days” by Proverbs 31 Ministries | P31 OBS Study

Hey there! It’s Stacy Lowe, back here to officially welcome you to Week 5!

Today is exciting, because it marks a turning point in our study. So far, we’ve been in the Old Testament, but now, we begin the New. Not only that — we get to kick it off with one of my favorite Bible stories: the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

This Week’s Longing:
Back in the Old Testament, God had been active and involved with His people, but then came 400 years of silence. Can you imagine? Four hundred years where it seemed God had abandoned His creation.

Make no mistake about it, though. He may have been silent, but He had not walked away. In fact He was working hard behind the scenes, preparing the way for our coming Savior.

This Savior, Jesus, would be the ultimate answer to our longing for redemption.

This Week’s Video:
Did you know we can never be too far gone to be used by God? This week, Kendra and Hannah are back to chat about just that. They’re also joined by First 5 Theological Content Manager Eric Gagnon, who’s here to give a behind-the-scenes look at the use of imagery throughout our 40 Days study guide. Let’s watch!

Here are instructions for accessing closed captioning and the transcripts.

Before heading off into the week, take a look at our Study at a Glance so you’ll know what to expect throughout the next few days.

Today we're completing:

Here’s to a great week!
