Yep, it's really happening. Today you and I start Round 4 of Fighting Words by Ellie Holcomb. Yay! I'm so excited to continue the study, too. I think it's because when I look back over the past 30 days, I see change. The days I'm intentional about connecting with God are different. Even in tough moments, His words come to mind and are comforting. What about you? What have you noticed so far?
What about today's reading, Day 31? Have you had a chance to read it yet? I did. All I could think was, How does Ellie read my mind? Seriously! She talks about a lie I've believed most of my life: the lie that I'm not good enough. What's more, she also mentions how that lie lingers in our minds after we mess up.
But this round’s memory verse is full of hope. Take a look:
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” (Psalm 73:26, NIV)
No matter what, even when we’re weak, God can be our strength and portion forever.
This is the verse we'll focus on memorizing this round. Now, I don't know about you, but for me it's taking some real effort to remember God’s words. But I’m going to keep working at it. In fact, in today’s video, Donna mentions taking “God breaks” to focus on those scriptures. I LOVE this and plan to try it this week. I think you’ll find it helpful too. Check it out!
OK, I'm ready to get this week started. What about you? What if we read Days 31-33, then connect here again on Day 34 (Sunday, July 3)? Yes? Let's do it.
Can’t wait to chat on Sunday!
