Can you believe we’ve done nine rounds of Fighting Words? That’s 90 days of encouragement, community and, most importantly, memorizing God’s Word!
This round has been one of my favorites. We began on Day 81 with our memory verse of 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV), where we were reminded that God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. And we will end today with John 15:9 (NIV), which is a great reminder for us to remain in God’s love:
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.”
Today (Day 90) brought a few tears for me. Ellie writes about how she wants to hold on to her young children a little longer, but all they want to do is go! As a mom of two young adult sons, I miss those days!
As they start building their own lives, I know my sons can’t remain with me, but one thing they can do, what we all can do, is remain, or stay put, in God's love.
Like for young children, it’s hard for me to stay put. What about you? We live in a fast-paced world, and if you are like me, some days you don’t know if you are coming or going.
Let’s do something to help us remain in God’s love before the day's craziness begins! I encourage you to carve out some time and reflect on God’s love for you. You could read a passage of Scripture or even recite the verses you’ve memorized in this study. Whatever you decide to do, spend some time with God.
We’ve come a long way and have one more round to go. You've got this, friend! Let’s finish strong!
Praying for you!
Other than sitting still for a few minutes and focusing on Jesus, what are some things you can do to remain in God’s love?
