Hi! My name is Wendy Blight. I’m the biblical content specialist for our Online Bible Studies Team. Consider this your invitation to join me for our Week 1 Bible Study Companion (BSC), which begins on page 2.
This week’s BSC reveals how Scripture’s thousand-year-old stories still speak to us today. Over the next five weeks, we’ll witness how Noah stood steadfast in the middle of what must have felt like the most hopeless of circumstances and how we can do the same today.
Rather than begin where Nicki does in Genesis Chapter 6, today we’ll travel back to Genesis Chapters 4-5, where we find the history of Noah’s people. In more biblical terms, we’ll study Noah’s genealogy. Don’t let that theological word chase you away. All it really means is we’re using the Bible’s version of an ancestry website to see how Noah’s ancestry influenced his decision to walk faithfully and steadfastly despite his uncertain future.

Your Bible study sister,
Read Genesis 5:5-24. How does verse 24 differ from verses 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, and 20? What in verse 24 distinguished Enoch’s life from the lives of those men who came before him?
If you want to dive deeper into this topic and discover how our lives can change when we truly walk with God, join us for this week’s BSC teaching. Hope to join you there!
