Thank you for coming! I know there are a lot of things calling for our attention, but you made the choice to read this today, and I don’t take that lightly. My prayer is that God would speak directly to your heart beyond anything I write.
On page 119 of Flooded, Nicki shares:
“God has a habit of doing holy things in the midst of hard things.”
I don’t know if you’re in the midst of a hard thing. Or if you can grab hold of the idea that God is still holy even in the midst of the hard. But here’s what God had me do, and I hope it helps you, too. Put your hand up right in front of your face. What can you see? Just your hand, right? But what happens if the hand stays in the same place and you turn your head up? That “thing” — your hand — is no longer staring you back. Maybe that’s what God is asking us to do in the midst of the hard: take our eyes off what’s in front of us and look up to Him who is Holy.
This is just what Noah did. He kept his eyes on God and was obedient in both building the ark and getting on it. His doubts were cast in the water, and he rose above all that was against him. God took him to new levels, new land and new opportunities. This is for us, too!
I’m leaving a few things in the water today. One of them is the doubt that I don’t really have a purpose. I want God to use that doubt to help me tell others that not only do I have a purpose, but so do you. You were created by Him, for Him, and you are being used by Him right now, today. Be faithful today, obedient to what God is asking you to do, and trust Him with the destination.
Oh, how I pray this encouraged you! I’m looking forward to being back with you here on Monday.
See you then,
What doubt(s) are you leaving in the water today?
