Hi, sweet friends!
I’m Alicia Hunter, and I’m blessed to be one of your study leaders for our upcoming P31 OBS, Forgiving What You Can’t Forget by Lysa TerKeurst. I refer to you as friends because that's what people become when they come together and share about something as personal and delicate as forgiveness. My fellow study leaders and I will be sharing our hearts throughout this journey right here on the blog, and we hope you'll join us.
Reading the title of the book and thinking about the word forgiveness makes me a little anxious and immediately fills my mind with memories I’d rather not recall. Do you have those, too? Memories of times you’ve been hurt that you’d prefer to avoid or push down deep? I think we all do.
Hurt certainly comes in all forms. Perhaps it’s a relationship with a friend, a parent, a child or a spouse. Maybe your family or church hurt you in ways you can’t yet describe. You may even find yourself in a cycle of pain that feels like it will never end. Whatever it may be, as friends, we won’t judge each other or decide what’s big or small. Instead, we’ll respect one another as we share and grow together.
So, friends, are you ready to make peace with those painful memories you’ve pushed aside? Do you need to know how to do that?
In this study, we will:
- Learn how to move on when the other person refuses to change.
- Walk through a step-by-step process to free ourselves from the hurt of the past and feel less offended today.
- Discover what the Bible says about forgiveness and the peace that comes from living it out right now.
- Disempower the triggers hijacking our emotions by embracing the two necessary parts of forgiveness.
What an impactful journey this will be! I’d like to invite you to share this post with a friend who may want to sign up.
Right here with you,
Alicia
