Hi there!
We’ve made it to our first Friday and completion of Week 1. My heart is smiling because you’ve made it here with me. I’m not much of a hugger, but if we were meeting face-to-face, I would hug ya for sure — this forgiveness stuff is hard!
I wonder if difficult memories have begun to stir up in your mind as they have in mine? You may not be ready to jump into processing through the hurtful and hard memories. I understand. I had to sit with them, too. But something shifted inside me to say the time is now when I read what Lysa shared on page 10 of Forgetting What You Can’t Forget:
“... those who cooperate most fully with forgiveness really are those who dance most freely in the beauty of redemption.”
My grandpa taught me how to dance. He had me place my feet on top of his and hold his hands while he moved side to side, back and forth. I would giggle at how, wherever he stepped, my foot went, too. It was so fun and joyful twirling with him. This is the vision God gave me of how He desires me to be.
Just as I had to trust my grandpa with teaching me the dance steps, I have to trust God with healing my heart. Standing on His Word, reading His scriptures, holding His hand while together we walk through it all. The good and the hard.
As we wrap up our first week, one thing we can hold onto is God is right here with us. He isn’t scared of our ugly snot cries, silence or even our tantrums. He never leaves us, never forsakes us. Never ever! Just like it says in Deuteronomy 31:6:
“… He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you” (NKJV).
Let’s choose to keep going and growing together throughout the weeks of study. To help with this, I encourage you to write out and personalize Deuteronomy 31:6. Then refer back to it as needed. There may be moments you need to pause, catch your breath and sit in the stillness with Jesus for a while, and that’s okay. This is some hard stuff we’re working through. Just don’t quit, okay?

Praying for you,

Heart to Heart:
How does Deuteronomy 31:6 encourage you to keep going and growing in your forgiveness journey?
Last night on our P31 OBS Facebook page, we had Bible Study LIVE at the Table! We watched this video (above) together and then had discussion around some of the questions found in the study guide. No Facebook? No problem! You can access this video here, even if you don't have an account! See you at the Table!
