Welcome to Week 2 of Get Your Life Back, my friend!
I hope your weekend was life-giving and you were able to take some steps toward rest and restoration through last week’s simple practices.
Now let’s take a look at the simple practices we’ll be learning about this week in Chapters 3, 4 and 5.
- DRINKING BEAUTY.
- Life moves at such a fast pace that we often miss the beauty God has placed all around us, such as the laughter of a child, a beautiful sunset or the smell of freshly cut grass. Chapter 3 invites us into the healing power of beauty in our lives.
- SIMPLE UNPLUGGING.
- Do you struggle with constant notifications, dings and buzzes coming from the electronics in your life? Me too. But how do we step away from our devices? In Chapter 4, John Eldredge guides us in some practical ways of unplugging.
- KINDNESS TOWARD OURSELVES.
- It’s so easy to be hard on ourselves and have high expectations for what we need to do. Being kind to ourselves can be very difficult, but Chapter 5 gently guides us into this practice.
I’m so guilty of neglecting these areas in my day-to-day busyness, but just the thought of incorporating these simple practices brings hope in the chaos of my life. Thankfully, John is here to tell us more in this week’s video. Check it out!
Did that video whet your appetite for these chapters? It did for me. I can’t wait to see how God works this week!
Don’t forget Bible Study LIVE at the Table on Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET on either Facebook or YouTube! If you have questions about the chapters, then this is the place to be! Here are some examples of questions you may be wrestling with: How do I unplug when everyone expects me to have my phone, including my family? How can I be kind to myself when I’ve never been treated kindly by others? Let us know what questions you have in the comments below, then tune in Thursday night to see if your question is answered!
