Hi there! Welcome to Proverbs 31 OBS! I’m Brandy Patton, one of your study leaders for Good Boundaries and Goodbyes by Lysa TerKeurst. You have no idea how glad I am that you’ll be studying with me!
I need to admit this upfront: It’s hard for me to build healthy relationships. Is it hard for you too? This study will show us how to begin to change and heal. That means showing up here today is our best first step toward better relationships.
Before we jump into studying though, let’s talk about how this study will work.
EACH STUDY WEEK
We’ll read certain chapters of our study book. The Introduction and Chapters 1 and 2 are what we’ll tackle this first week.
We’ll note what we remember, learn, notice, and feel led to pray about in our journal, My Personal Boundaries Journal. Now, I must pause here to say this: Please, please don’t skip over the journal! God will be doing so much work to heal you, and you’ll want to read back over what you’re learning. Especially because our healing will continue long after the study ends. What’s more, we often eventually forget what we don’t write down. It’s our hope that by the end of the study, you’ll walk away with a tangible reminder of the work you put in and the hope that’s found through setting (and keeping) boundaries.

Along the way, too, we’ll share with each other for deeper learning and insight.
