How’s it going so far? Are you getting into a good study routine? If not, don’t fret! It can take time to reach the right rhythm, so keep going, making adjustments as needed. As long as you don’t give up, you will find your flow.
And since we’re on Day 3, here's something that Wendy Blight shares in today’s I Am Loved book work to help motivate us to keep opening our Bibles:
“Life transformation flows from the time we invest in the Word, not from the teacher’s lectures or commentary. It’s sitting and soaking in our Bibles, allowing God to work in our hearts in and through the reading and the homework.”
Life transformation. Do you crave it too?!
Yes. Let’s keep sitting and soaking in God’s Word so we can experience transformation firsthand.
And, speaking of life transformation, this week’s all about transforming our lives through learning to “Walk in the Light.” But how do we do that? To help us know where to get started, here's another Day 3 tidbit from Wendy:
“Living in the light requires that our hearts, our actions, our words, our thoughts, our values, and even our schedules align with God’s heart and His character.”
Now, I don’t know about you, but I’m a visual learner so I LOVE a good bullet list! To help me digest Wendy’s wise words, I jotted them down like this in my P31 OBS journal pages...
To live in the light, I need to align these with God’s heart and character:
- My heart
- My actions
- My words
- My thoughts
- My values
- My schedule
And now that we have a list, it’s also super easy to do a quick self-inventory!
Which do you struggle to align with God’s heart and character? Are there some you struggle with more than others, or some that seem to come to you more naturally? Go ahead, take a moment to check and reflect…
Shew! Talk about shedding some light on our darkness. Are you feeling a bit exposed? I am! But don’t get stuck in your darkness because, here’s the good news, like Wendy reminds us:
“God never abandons His children. Because of God’s great love for us, He made a way to bring sinful man back into relationship with Him. A way in which we could once again stand before our Holy God.”
And what is that way? Jesus’ death on the cross for our sins.
“His perfect life for our imperfect life. A beautiful exchange.”
A beautiful exchange indeed.
Reflect and Respond:
Which from the list above do you struggle with most? What’s one thing you’ve learned so far to help you walk in the light?
