Hi friend, I’m glad you’re here today!
Together, we’ve learned shattered isn’t the end. It’s the beginning of God making something new. But what about the moments we have to get through while waiting for the “new”?
In Chapter 3, Lysa shares what helped her through. Put simply — trusting God. When we find ourselves feeling shattered, we have a choice: we can focus on our dust OR trust.
With that in mind, I thought we’d close our week with two important things when shifting our focus from dust to trust…
1. Having a Marked Moment
Lysa describes a “marked moment” as:
“A real live moment we can point to and remind ourselves that we declared we will trust God with this suffering. With this disappointment.”
I shared about one of my marked moments in the last blog post. What I didn’t share, is my disappointments didn’t suddenly disappear. For another year I waded through them, waiting for God to begin to turn “shattered me” into ministry. Through that, I had to keep intentionally pointing my thoughts back to my marked moment, remembering my declared trust in God.
2. Trusting in God’s Timing, Way and Love
Lysa reminds us:
“To trust God is to trust His timing. To trust God is to trust His way.”
In my wait, there were times I couldn’t perceive God’s love and wanted to push forward in my own way. But looking back, like Lysa, I’m thankful to now understand we can all declare:
“God loves me too much to answer my prayers at any other time than the right time and in any other way than the right way.”
Reflect and Respond:
Where are you in surrendering and trusting your disappointments to God? What’s one thing you’ve learned this week that’s helping you?
Enjoy your weekend,
