I’ve loved leading us through the first week of Love Life Again. It’s been such a great week with so many incredible takeaways! To help us zero in on a few main ones to remember, we’re going to end each week with a recap, including: summarizing how the week’s topic(s) helps us to love life again, recalling the verse of the week and memorizing a section of our main study verse, John 10:10. So let’s get to it!
Topic Summary: Choosing Contentment & Loving Ourselves
This week we discovered three crucial battles we have to choose to fight in order to love life again:
- The battle against discontentment. Contentment is a choice. We have to fight against our desire for more, and resenting what isn’t to our liking, focusing instead on our blessings.
- The battle against our mind. Satan feeds us lies that we’re less than and not enough. We have to fight against our negative self-talk, placing our confidence in God’s truths.
- The battle against disbelief. We have to remember who and whose we are and fight to embrace the way God made us, believing we’re beautiful in His eyes — the only eyes that matter.
Verse of the Week:
“I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.” - John 10:10 (MSG)
I can’t think of a better way to prepare for battle than coming together to commit our main study verse, John 10:10, to memory! So, each week we’re going to do just that by working on one section of the verse. Over the next week, let’s commit to practicing reading the verse until we can say the missing section below without looking it up...
“I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever _______ __.” -____ __:__ (___)
For Your Weekend:
With Week 1 coming to a close, let’s give thanks to God for all we were able to get done and learn. Then let’s take some time to grab the Week 2 section of the Week at a Glance and use it to determine our What, When and Where for next week. We’ve got this!
