Finding Freedom Through Forgiveness {Week 2 Recap}

October 8, 2019
“Nothing is beyond God’s compassion or ability to forgive.” - Tracie Miles #lovelifeagainbook | Proverbs 31 Online Bible Studies Week 1 #P31OBS

Hey there, friend!

Yay! We made it to the end of Week 2! I’m so proud of you. Let’s recap what we learned.

Topic Summary: Forgiveness
This week Tracie taught we can love our life again by finding freedom through:

  • Accepting God's forgiveness. We can shout for joy over this reminder from author Tracie Miles: “Nothing is beyond God’s compassion or ability to forgive.” When we confess our sins and ask forgiveness, we are indeed forgiven.
  • Forgiving ourselves. We have to believe in our hearts we are forgiven and let go of those past hurts and mistakes. We can’t continue to punish ourselves while we walk in His grace.
  • Extending forgiveness to others. Just as Jesus forgives us, we are to forgive others (Matthew 6:14-15). Holding onto the hurt and pain caused by others will keep us tangled up in discontentment, but freedom is found on the other side of unforgiveness.

Verse of the Week:

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” -1 John 1:9 (NIV)

Scripture Memorization:
I love the comfort I receive from reading our main study verse, John 10:10. It’s such an awesome promise from our Heavenly Father! How are you doing with memorizing it? Are you able to recite last week’s section without peeking? We’ve added a few more blanks below to work on next. Note: you may have noticed that for this study we’re only using/memorizing the second half of John 10:10. We can do this!

“I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life _____ _____ _____ _______ __.” -____ __:__ (___)
