Holding on to God's Promises

November 19, 2021
"Pointing to the Promise" by Kayla Ferris | P31 OBS Week 1 Quote

Hi, friends! It’s been a fantastic week of study as we have been reminded of God’s promises and how every single one of them was fulfilled in the coming of our Messiah. Let’s take a moment to reflect on His greatness and faithfulness. When God says He’s going to do something, He does it. He is the great promise-keeper!

We celebrate these promises with a time of joy and cheer. However, for some, Christmas may bring sadness and hard memories of past Christmases. Maybe this is the first Christmas since a cherished loved one passed away. Or perhaps the hurts of the year are too much to bear.

Two years ago, my father passed away unexpectedly on Christmas Day. The pain is still there, but I cling to this promise:

“For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” (Revelation 7:17, ESV)

The beautiful promise is that Jesus is our Shepherd who guides us, fills us with His living water and wipes away every tear. Our Savior is coming! While we don’t know when this will occur, we do know that it will happen because God always keeps His promises! The proof is in the Word.

Cling to God’s promises today, friends! We have hope and a promise of what is to come.

Blessings to you,

Missy
