The Good News of Christmas

November 22, 2021

Hey, friends! I’m Alicia Hunter, and I’m thrilled to be your study leader this week.

One of my favorite things to do during the holiday season is find a comfy spot to sit and watch the people around me. Love fills the room as we play games, unwrap gifts and read the Christmas story with the children. Watching each person’s response brings me great joy. And that’s just what this week is all about — how we respond to Christmas.

What To Do This Week:

Complete Week 2, Days 6-10, in Pointing to the Promise.
Watch the Monday video with Kayla and Wendy as they discuss ways to respond to Christmas, and then join us in a Moment of Reflection (see below)
Read the wrap-up message in your email on Friday where I'll share the struggle of being obedient to what God wants from us this Christmas!

Moment of Reflection:

In today's video, Kayla challenges us to find our personal way to say, “Thank You, God.” Maybe, for you, that looks like singing and dancing or perhaps just sitting still and listening. How will you say "thanks" to God this week?

*Don't forget to come back and share your aha! moments when you're working through the study this week!

Freebie of the Week:

This week’s freebie is our OBS Christmas playlist. It’s filled with beautiful praise music to listen to as you ride in your car, clean your house or sit quietly with God. You choose!

Prayer To Get You Through This Week:

Father God, we come before You hopeful in who Jesus is and what He came to this earth to do. Help us to look to You and Your Word so that we will respond with great obedience and faithfulness in all we do. Help us focus our hearts on the promises You’ve kept, and help us keep our eyes on the promises ahead. We pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

I’m praying for you,

Alicia
