Hi, friends! As we wrap up this week of study, we see the fingerprints of God’s faithfulness woven throughout the Christmas story. His fulfilled promise of a Savior is proof that He is faithful.
Today, His faithful fingerprints guide us as we see His promises in the New Testament. Through Christ, we know we have the assurance of salvation and eternal life. In times of suffering, God brings us comfort and a promise to finish the work that He began in us.
When my sons were small, they uttered the words “but you promised!” when I forgot to do something I said we would do. As adults, we also feel the pain of broken promises. People let us down, causing us to lose our faith and trust in them.
But God never forgets His promises to us.
“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-23, ESV)
Believing that God will keep His promises is essential to our faith. When the angel visited Mary, she remembered God’s faithfulness from Abraham to the prophets, so she trusted His promise and sang a song of praise. What a beautiful way to honor the Lord and to magnify His Name!
Let’s never forget that if God said it, He meant it. If God promised it, He will do it!
Blessings to you,
Missy
