Seeing Jesus in Portraits

January 10, 2022

Hey there! My name is Stacy Lowe, and I’m here to welcome you to our first study of 2022, Seeing Jesus in the Old Testament by Lysa TerKeurst and Joel Muddamalle.

This week, we’ll examine the lives of six people documented in the Old Testament: Adam and Eve, Moses, Joshua, David, and Esther. We’ll see how their actions served as hints and shadows pointing to our coming Savior, Jesus Christ. When you’re ready, let’s begin!

What To Do This Week

Complete Week 1, Days 1-5, in Seeing Jesus in the Old Testament.

Watch the Monday video to learn about seeing Jesus when you’re lonely, and then join in community with our Question of the Week (see below).
Read and listen to the wrap-up message and audio teaching on Saturday to finish putting all the pieces together for Week 1.

Question of the Week

This week’s section of study is called “Portraits.” From your experience, how does a portrait compare to the real thing?

(As you work through this week's pages, we'd love for you to come back and share what you're learning!)

Stepping Stones of the Week

Does the thought of working through the Old Testament intimidate you a bit? No worries! We’ve got you covered with our daily Stepping Stones. These short readings — one for each day Monday through Friday — will help focus your study time and assist you in pulling out and applying each day’s lesson. Enjoy!

Prayer Prompt for This Week

Praying and inviting Jesus into each week’s lesson is a great way to take your study time to a deeper place. Each Monday, we’ll provide you with a prayer prompt to help you do just that! This week, begin your prayer by saying:

  • Lord, reveal Yourself to me in this study. What do You want me to see? …

Be ready for what the Lord speaks to your heart!

Have an awesome week of study, and I'll see you back here on Saturday!
