We are just over a week into the study! How are you, friend? Whether you’ve been spending time each day releasing and receiving or haven’t quite started yet, can I encourage you to jump right in with us on Day 8?
“You are not alone.” These are words we’ll read in today’s devotion. This phrase is a soft whisper our soul longs to hear over and over again.
If I could go back, I would speak today’s encouragement to myself at age 15, and again at 22, and then 34 and 42, but who's counting, right?
Consider this my little whisper to you … I’m here. You are not alone. God is with you and me, and we have each other. Even when we feel very much alone, we can cling to His promise.
“And be sure of this: I am with you always ...” (Matthew 28:20b, NLT).
Today’s reading really showed me that to fully receive this promise, I need to give up false beliefs of unworthiness and doubt that the world and the enemy try to plant in my heart.
Release: Lord, I am often deceived by social media’s highlight reel of friends gathering together, experiencing good times. I assume from smiling photos that others are not struggling, and I feel less-than and left out. Father, I release those false beliefs of isolation to You and welcome Your Truth.
Receive: I receive from You, God, Your nearness. I accept that I was made to live in closeness with You and community with others. I trust Your plan of togetherness, even when it feels scary and unknown. You have my best in Your heart, and in that I find hope and rest.
