Welcome back, friend! It's Week 2, and we're seven days into our 30-day journey together!
This week's season can sneak up and grab those of us who are in it. It can leave us feeling isolated, alone and even confused. It’s the season of separation.
As we look at Chapters 4-6 of Your New Now this week, we will see why God lets us experience these feelings.
I can remember walking through a time of separation, feeling a deep sense of loneliness. It felt like all of a sudden I was a single, divorced mom of two toddler girls, and I couldn’t figure out what to do next. I was surrounded by people who loved and encouraged me, but I still felt empty and alone. Feelings of shame, embarrassment and guilt flooded my heart. This made me feel like I must have disappointed God in some way.
Thankfully, I was SO WRONG! Instead, it was just as we will see this week on Page 75:
“When God allows us to enter the transition place of separation, it’s not because He’s punishing us. Instead, He’s proving to us that He is what we need."
If you are currently walking in this season, oh how I wish we were together so I could grab your hand and whisper: “You have what you need most: God’s presence!” This is a gift we’ll learn more about this week.
Even though it’s been several years since God drew me close to Him during my own separation season, I remember the lessons I learned then and hang on to them tightly as He reminds me of them regularly. I’m sure He does the same for you as He walks with you.
I’m looking forward to learning more as we begin.
I’m praying for you, and I’ll see you on Wednesday,
Nicki tells us on Page 74 that God has a purpose in all seasons of life and that “God may not be all we want, but He is all we need.” What is one way God is or has been all you need even during a tough season of life? And would you find someone in the comments who might need some encouragement and share a kind word with them?
