Loneliness can be a gift.
I know how painful it can be to feel alone. But God showed me one day that He has gifts tucked into my times of loneliness.
The conversations I have with the Lord in my loneliness always lead me to more intimacy with Him. And the more intimacy I have with Him, the more compassion He stirs in my heart. You better believe when I walk into a crowded room, I look for someone seated alone and make sure she feels noticed.
When I ease the loneliness ache in others, it is beautifully eased in me.
Learning to be a noticer of others is a beautiful gift — not just for me but one that’s being developed in me. And one that makes me feel a lot less alone.
