Remembering Fosters Faith

My grandfather was a pastor for many, many years.

I didn’t get to watch most of his ministry. So he tells me about it, and because of our generational chats, my faith is strengthened.

This is what Moses is getting at in Deuteronomy 11 when he shares that our testimonies are an imperative — not just for our faithfulness, but for the faith of future generations. We can fill the gap between expectation and experience by sharing our stories of seeing God work in magnificent ways!

Here’s the deal: remembering fosters faith. Recalling the Lord’s previous faithfulness helps to cement future obedience for ourselves and others!

Generations who have walked with God look back in gratitude; future generations look forward in hope.
