Sometimes girls can really be mean.
I’ll never forget the hurt I felt in middle school from a group of girls who constantly made fun of me.
It’s been decades since I heard their cruel words. But I can still have those same feelings of rejection today.
If you’ve been deeply hurt, you know what I’m talking about. Sometimes we want to attack back so that person feels as bad as we do.
But Jesus tells us to “forgive as the Lord forgave us.” With this command, Jesus isn’t being insensitive to our pain. He’s actually showing us how to get free from the long-term effects of being hurt.
And here’s what I know for sure: the hurt they spewed at you is more of a reflection of their insecurities than yours. Remember the voices of rejection can come at you but don’t have to reside in you.
