Lord, thank You for who Your Son, Jesus, is — One who deeply understands how hard it can be simply to be a human. Thank You for the truth that when I’m praying, You hear me. Because Jesus has overcome the world, I know You will help me overcome what I’m facing right now as well (John 16:33). As I lie down to sleep each night, I will also lay down my need to know the “why” behind certain questions I have. You will carry the reasons things happened because only You know what to do with those. And You will carry me. I love You, God. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
"... [The devil] was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies." John 8:44 (NIV)
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles.” Hebrews 12:1a (NIV)
“He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.” Deuteronomy 32:4 (NIV)
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?” Matthew 6:25 (NIV)
“[Jesus] said to his disciples, ‘Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?’” Mark 4:40 (NIV)
“You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.” Psalm 145:16 (NIV)
Lord Jesus, I bring You my quiet disappointments. When my prayers feel unanswered and my hope slips into the past tense, please walk with me. Open my eyes to Your presence, and turn my focus from changing circumstances to Your unchanging heart. Fan my weary faith into flame, and restore to me a present-tense trust in You. I believe You are alive, You are near, and You are still making a way. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
“But we had hoped that he was the one to redeem Israel.” Luke 24:21a (ESV)
“rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.” Philippians 2:7 (NIV)
